We are here for the most dramatic dance floor ever recap of Dancing with the Stars last night. And I am still hooked. What about you? I am. What? Oh, I'm like, wait, I'm like, no, you're not. I know. Let me give you my quick synopsis. Yeah. This is typically as a viewer. This is where I kind of start to fall off shows by like episode three or four because I get a little bored. Now I will say that the Dancing is better and I was really glad to see some higher scores. Trista, I was like, finally, okay, give these people what they deserve.

Yeah. But I also just realized how much I am not a judge on Dancing with the Stars because I'm right behind my thought that someone did terrible. They were like, you were amazing. And I'm like, literally, I have no idea what I'm doing. So it's a good thing I sit on this side of the camera and not on that side because clearly I am lost. I'm lost. Yeah. No. That takes years and years and years and years of dance experience. So we're not going to consider ourself judges. We're just going to watch for the fun of it. You know, I love it. I love it. And I love that we get to see each other every morning after. Me too. Me too. You know what is so funny is I can pick out really great dancing. Like that's easy to see. It's the ones who I think are like treading water and I know we'll get there. But some, you know, some Tyler's dancing, you know, some of the other dancers where I'm kind of like, ah, you're mo, you know, I'm like, I don't know. I don't know, but I can pick out really good dancing. Right. Of course.

And it's not necessarily all about the dancing either. Yes, it's dancing with the stars. But I feel like it's also getting to know the stars and and seeing how they can challenge themselves and that they're all like us that we can relate to them because if they have a challenge like this, like how do they deal with it and how do they deal with dancing intimately with someone that they just met, you know, and like that kind of stuff. Like I love also watching the development of their story as well, not just not just the dancing, even though I love the dancing. So this week it was yacht rock, which I But they did a yacht rock week. Like how cute is that? Have you ever seen a yacht rock band like in person? Not. No, I love live music. I do not enjoy to go to concerts, but I really love what I've used. Like concerts. I know I don't and I'm really thankful the kids are not like, oh my god, Bob, let's go see Sabrina Carpenter.

It's like my worst nightmare to go to a stadium and watch a concert. But wait, wait, who's your favorite artist? I can't. I am really terrible at favorites. I can't pick a favorite food. I can't pick a favorite song. But there is this song that I'm really into. No, no, it's not about songs. It's about the person. So I just went to Garth Brooks. Do you like Garth Brooks? Trista. I am from Georgia. I literally was just going to say that. Okay, so I just went to his concert in Denver and it was the best concert I had ever been to because he's so invested in his people. He's so freaking talented and you know all the songs. You would like a concert like that. Yeah, it's not that I don't like it. I think it's the you know when you get into that big venue, I get into a lot of anxiety like all the people how I'm going to get out. What's the escape route? You know what I mean? And I'm not spending a lot of money. I'm very careful what I spend thousands of dollars on and to sit on row, which is what I would actually enjoy.

Yeah, that's that's where I would like to be. But I'm only paying for the $300 tickets, which are in the nosebleed section. And I don't want to do that. I don't want to do that. And I'm spoiled. I'm spoiled. Right. We are spoiled, especially being with I heart. I feel like the the yacht rock bands are so fun. I would much prefer like dive bars or like when I'm traveling with my pilots. A lot of times we'll just like pop into a bar and listen to live music. Now that's my jam. Totally. That I love. I love it. You need to go move to Nashville. Not that you're going to. I lived there for five years. I did live there for five years. I lived the best five years of my life. Yes. So good. All right. So we have yacht rock and they made a brand new record last week. Like this is huge. These are huge numbers for television today. I think one of the stars said actually was Tyler. He said it was the best television show in America.

And I was like, that's amazing. Like Julian was like, oh, but I think with their numbers, they're they're kicking butt this year, which is really cool. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So we started off the well, actually, I have to start not even getting into the dancers yet, but we had some familiar faces, especially in bachelor nation in the ballroom, including Hannah Brown, who she just looks so gorgeous as as per you. And Rachel and I've already always said her name wrong. Kirk and I'll or Kirk Connell. I think it's Kirk Connell. Okay. Thank you. Kirk Connell. And she's from Matt James season. Of course she looks stunning. She's beautiful. And I love that she did a little shout out on the dancing with the stars Instagram page with Tyler's fiance. And she was like, I'm his BFF. And I was like, that's really cute. I think that's what they both got the best end of that breakup from Matt James as they got each other, their friendship together. Like that's pretty cool.

Yeah. Love that. Love seeing that says a lot to we say, yeah. We don't do good there because I'm sure we would talk forever about it. Okay. So we started off the show with Amber Glendon Pasha. And as we've as I've said in past episodes for this podcast. I you know, there are people on the internet who are like, she's going to win. She's the figure skater. She's got, you know, the skills, the talent, she can dance. She's got musicality, all of those things. And up till last night, I wasn't really sold like, yes, I felt like she had everything as the foundation. And maybe we we would see it at some point. Last night, she showed it to us in spades like she came out amazing. I was blown away by this performance. Her feet looked gorgeous. Like I've told you, like point it. Like I feel like with figure skaters or skaters.

They're used to their feet being flat and not having to worry about their feet. I felt like she was very intentional about her foot placement and her foot movement. And she was gorgeous. We do have to point out that as Heather pointed out to us last night in our group text. The singer didn't start singing this song until like eight counts late. And for someone who's competing. I mean, obviously she's competed with music prior, you know, in her career. So she's used to music. But gosh, you throw in your on a live show. You have all these eyeballs looking at you. You only have like two minutes to do your dance. And I'm sure she's nervous, even though she didn't look nervous. And the song, it doesn't sound like how you have rehearsed it for the entire cast. Completely. And they didn't throw them off. Yeah. At all. Like when Heather pointed that out, I was like, I did not notice at all because they didn't they didn't allow us to notice. Like they they weren't worried about it. So I wasn't worried about it. She blew me away last night.

Yeah, you know what? Last night was the first night that I thought she did not look like an ice skater. Exactly. The dancing is phenomenal. I think that that is like she is she is a pro like she is so good. I'm not getting that like attachment to her. And yeah, whatever. These people become my friends in my own mind. Trista, like I go very attached to people on shows that I get invested in. And I don't feel an attachment to her. You know what I mean? And maybe it's because I have some nostalgia with some of the other people who are on the show. They have a great connection. Her and her pro. And the dancing is phenomenal. I'm not getting that connection as a viewer in the audience. Yeah. I feel like it's coming. I feel like we'll get there. But I do I do hear that. And I wasn't feeling that either. I also have that with another pro that I'll talk about later. But I will say she got the first eights of the season. She got all eights. I think she was the high score last night. And I thought she deserved it. The choreography was beautiful. Their connection was beautiful. I loved this routine.

I loved it too. And you heard Derica, he was like, the ice queen does it again. Like I love. Now we're just getting we're getting more of this show like that. I will give you. I like that. We're getting more personality and more time from the judges. the dancers were seeing more. I love that we're getting better scores. I love that because there were some dances from episode one and two that I just thought they needed better scores. So I'm just happy to see more of like, I guess a competition. Yeah, I thought it was just beautiful. And I feel like also what I love to see is people taking the notes of the judges and actually working on the things that they're telling them to work on. And I felt like she is growing. You could tell that she's growing. She's listening, she's growing. And I love the progression of the dancer on this. She's phenomenal. Phenomenal. She got a 24 out of 30 and she was great, great, great. So someone that I am emotionally connected to was our next group.

And that was Julia Stiles and Ezra. I just like, I can't help it. I want her to go so far because I just have that connection from like the 2000s, like watching her on the big screen. And what I love, what I am loving about this show is that we are getting to see the people that we watch as actors and actors says. We get to see them in a different light. And I love that Julia Stiles pointed that out that like she is so used to having a script. She, if she makes mistakes, it's fine because she's protected by the producers and the directors and the films that she does. But she is in a competition and she's vulnerable and being herself. So we're not seeing a character, right? We're seeing her. Yeah. I just, I like love it, Trista. So I actually have a very different opinion of her dance. I didn't watch her movies. I don't know that I've ever seen what. I have to have a sleepover. We have to have sleepover. When she's in that dance movie and she's all like,

she's so white but she's like trying to be thug and she's not like, it's, I love it. Yeah. I can't imagine. I'm like, you're like, I'm like so shocked right now. So I'm really bad at watching like really popular movies when they first come out. And then I watch them like centuries later or not centuries decades later. You are not from the 1930s, Trista. I feel like I am. I'm a centuries. So, you were young and beautiful and like a spray chicken. Ah, yeah. Thank you. So I'm not as connected to her. OK. Right. And for me, it's more about the connection with Ezra which she has so much of. They have a beautiful connection. And I love Ezra. From the dancing perspective, I just felt like last night, it was very rushed. I felt like there was so much pushed into the routine

that she was like kind of getting messed up thinking about all the moves. Like it wasn't smooth. It was not my favorite dance. It just didn't shine for me because I felt like I could feel her in her head. You know what I mean? Wow, that's so interesting because here we are. We've watched the same show, but we have two polar opposite. Totally. So like for me, because I see and I knew her from shows when I was younger. And I see the connection between her and Ezra, like that sells for me. I'm like, oh, yeah, I could get on board with her. I'm team Julia. You know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah, no. Well, yeah, it wasn't my favorite. And actually, she got two sixes and one seven. So she got her first seven. So she was excited about that. But you remember in the very beginning, when we first started this podcast, I said, I feel like sometimes they give certain people certain scores because they want to keep them around longer. I don't know. This is just my opinion.

I don't know that this is truthful. And I don't know legally if they're allowed to even do that. But I feel like the judges want her on longer or the powers that be want her on longer because of her popularity. So they're giving her a little bone. Like here you go, it wasn't the best dance. We're going to give you a seven. Do you know what I mean? Fine by me. Clearly it's working because the numbers were good. And I like her and I'm glad she's staying. So yeah, I'm not sure. I either believe that that's a legal thing. I'm not sure that they can do that because there's money involved. Like they're getting paid to be there. So I think that the rules and the guidelines are very strict when it comes to that. But you could be right. But either way, I'm OK with it. I am glad that she's there. I love to see the personality in her and the connection. And I love to see her connecting with the fans. I told you that's what I need as a viewer from the show. Totally. And again, I don't dance like you, Trista. So I was like, oh, it was good. It was good. Trish getting 19 out of 30. The judges had really good things to say about her.

So yeah, they did. Yeah. And that's my wonder. They want to keep her around and mind you. I didn't want her to go last night. So I'm glad that she's around. But I will. It just wasn't my favorite dance. It was good. It wasn't great compared to some of these great dances that we're seeing. You know what I mean? Sure. I'll give you that. Available now at Sephora. Okay. So Guillermo is next with Whitney and I know he's not your favorite necessarily but I just

love how he is like he's funny and he just makes fun of himself and I love somebody who can play with the fact that they're maybe not the best dancer and poke fun at themselves. I just love that about him. I loved the dance. I thought it was hysterical at the end when she rips open his shirt and he's like I'm here for dancing for the people. Yes. Cute. Cute. I really, yes. It's not that I don't like him. Right I do. He's a fun aspect of the show. I do not think he's going to go all the way. But he gives a good comedic relief to the show. He does not come on there and act like he's the best dancer in the world. But I will tell you a couple of things that I noticed and just from you mentioned it early on. I did see Whitney talking him through the dance and I didn't like it.

It was distracting for me. And I imagine right as an instructor she probably has to do that. She's just trying to get him through the end of the dance. But I just like as a viewer I saw it and I was kind of like, but she wasn't the only one. I saw a couple of other people do it last night and it's just it's not something that I ever noticed before. But I will say he has improved and that I love right. Yes. From the very first dance that he did and again, he is straight up like I am not a dancer. This is so fun. Thank you for having me. He's got a big grateful heart. But you know I love. Yes. And he has improved. He's dancing improved last night. I mean, he got a 15 out of 30. That's a really great score for him. Yeah. All five. Yeah, I thought it was great. And I love that he was pumping up the crowd afterwards and like, you know, getting away from Alfonso and just like, come on. Let's go. And then he said, we're keeping it cute. I was like, that's going to be a meme somewhere or something. We're keeping it cute. Yeah. Keep it cute. I love it.

I do have to reverse a little bit and talk about in the sky box with Julianne how they're doing these mocktails. And I feel like sometimes, sometimes it's just not needed. It's not necessary. They're trying to fill all these moments and, you know, make back some money with the advertising and whatever for this company or for the mocktails or whatever. And I'm just like, do we really need mocktails? Like, they want to be like throwing their arms up in the air when they get a good score. Well did you notice a couple of times with the mocktails, like the pro next to them took it so that they could hold on my tone and talk at the same time? It was just weird. I just don't know that it fits in there. I love a cocktail or a mocktail. I'm all about it. I just don't know that that was the place. I feel like there's the show, the after show with Robert Irwin. I don't know if they're doing it. I feel like they did it the first week. But that's a place for it. They could put it into there, but I just don't know that it's the right spot for it.

A weird little addition that I just didn't need. Yeah. Exactly. Okay. So Tatiana and Jan were up next and she has come so far. I don't even know the right saying. She has come miles in just a few weeks. I feel like the right saying is what Derek said that it was her breakthrough moment. It was totally her breakthrough. She was gorgeous. And what I have been talking about since the beginning too is actresses and actors have a leg up when they have to act within their number. And she was great at it. That gave so much more depth to the routine. It wasn't just dancing. It was like a story. You know, I loved it. I loved it a little shimmy over when she walks over his face or a little shimmy over. I don't know what to call it. Tristan. You know what I mean? I don't know what to call that. But like when he's like on the ground and she kind of shimmy's over her face. Yes. Like I saw so much personality there and like just like a freaking queen.

You know what I mean? Like the first couple weeks she could tell she was so nervous and so scared. And I feel like like she came alive in that dance. Like she was like owned it, owned her personality, owned the dance, got out there, freaking killed it. And then when they did that little thing and she shimmyed over him with her pants, I was like she cute. So roll over ahead. Yes. And why there's two Holland Oats songs so far. Is there another Holland Oats song? Because two out of ten or however many dances we have, that seems like a lot. Why couldn't they pick another recording artist I'm trying to go through all of them? Yeah, I think there's there's two of them. I love Holland Oats, I will say, but it was just interesting to me that there's that there's multiple of their songs. Okay. So she did the quick step. The quick step is hard. She did it on the quick step, but from what the pros say every single season on this show, the quick step is really hard. And I felt like she was, it was a beautiful dance. Yeah, I mean, I can do the Roger Rabbit. So maybe I can quick step.

She didn't do anything you put your mind to. Exactly. So, Rista, thank you for encouraging all of my crazy thoughts that passed through my mind on a daily basis. She did so great. She got a 21 out of 30. Like, again, I told you, I'm so glad to see some higher scores. I'm so glad to see it like be a competition now. And she was, it was like well deserved, well deserved. I always thought, is Carrie Ann, does she play that part where she like has to be the knit picker? Yeah. Oh, she is. But Derek does too. Bruno, obviously, is just like, I love him. I love him. I want to sit next to him. I want to like go to dinner with him. I want him to tell me I'm so great and like encourage me. I just want to like bring him home with me. Totally. Yes, Carrie Ann can be. She's also kind of the supporter or the uplifter or whatever you want to call it. And Derek, since he's been in the ballroom, and I think it's maybe two or three seasons

that he's been a regular judge, he is very much about technique. And he kind of took a little bit of Len Goodman's role in that Len always wanted there to be the content of the particular dance that they were doing. That he wants content of that dance. He doesn't want it to be like a freestyle with just a little bit of content. He wants that actual dance to be shown and then have a little bit of fun. Okay. Who did it in it? Yeah, it makes sense. Right. Just was kind of like, Carrie Ann, give her her moment when she's like, she may have seen and even she wasn't even confident that she saw the misstep. She was like, I think I saw it, but like, you know, like just let her have her moment. Just let her have her moment. 21 out of 30, let her just rise above girl. Yeah. Yeah. I agree. So they announced the people's sexiest, sorry, the people sexiest dancing with the stars pros. And I, I have to say I was a little shocked. I mean, I feel like all of them, they put the pictures up there, holy abs. Did you see the picture of Pasha?

Yeah. Whoa. If dancing with the stars has taught me anything, Trista, it's that I want a set of abs. Like if it's, okay, I need to be a dancer now. Like that's my next go in this lifetime. Is that I need to be a dancer so that I can have a set of abs like that. Seriously. Yeah. Those abs, I was like, and he's married to Danny, who is like a brick house too, like completely ripped. So I have to tell you, I was on a trip once in Cabo and they were there with their family. I was staying at some nice resort. I was there on a trip for work and they were staying there. And although I didn't watch dancing with the stars, I know who they are. Like I see their stuff falling in my feet and you just know who they are from dancing with the stars. And I saw them and they were so unbothered, just, just them and no one messed with them and they were able to live a normal life. And I was just like, that's cool. Like I like when that happens. Stars, they're just like, oh, great. Exactly. Um, you can go vote for your, um, your favorite sexy is dancing with the stars, Proud on

people.com. You want to, if you want to go check it out. So it's, it's Val, Pasha, Ezra and Alan, right? Who would you pick, Trista? You know, the app has really got me, but I will say, um, Val is one of my favorite all time pros. Like he just also comes to dance competitions and teaches, um, my daughter, like my daughter's in the class with hundreds of other girls, you know, but, um, he, we were at this one dance competition. So this is like just a personal, you know, connection, which is why I love him. And I would vote for him. He was in the little restaurant and we came in and it was, it was a thing to get the girls Shirley temples. And so we came in to get a couple Shirley temples with her and her friend. And I said, I introduced myself and, um, said, you know, we're kind of part of the same family. We might have met before that, but anyway, he ended up buying the girls their Shirley temples and just talked to us for a while.

And so he'll always like, okay, so I love that. I know when people are like normal people, you know what I mean? When I love that, I'm so glad that you shared that story. I love when people can be on top of the world, but still have enough total humble parts of them to be normal people. I love that totally. And like these girls like so look up to him and you know, like they idolize them almost. And so the fact that he was like, oh, I've got him for you. They were just in heaven. So if you make my daughter happy, you have my heart. Straight to forever. Straight to my heart. Straight to my heart. If you would like to win me over, love my children. Like, come on. Oh, I love that. That's so great. I would also vote for Val because, you know, he's very good looking in a great dancer. Obviously, and abs, right? I'm in the market for some of those. But I think that he has a great personality. He's a great actress. And I think that really shines through both on and off the dance floor.

Like, I think he is full blown entertainer. Yep. A great. Love it. Okay. So next is his lovely wife, Jenna with Harry. And he got all eights too because it was excellent. Excellent. Like, so you looked like a pro out there. I will say, oh, it was the third Holland Oats song. So there was another Holland Oats song. And the other one was the first dance. Wonder if they bought the rights. We'll need our producer Heather to look into that. Like, did you buy the rights for those songs? And that's why they got to perform so many of them. They always do, but I think maybe they got a deal because if they bought three, they got a winner. A buy one. Get two free, Trista. They say they get a lot. Come on. Oh, gosh. Okay. So with Harry and Jenna, I thought it was, I think, I think it was a good one. I think it was a good one. I think it was a good one. I think Harry and Jenna, I thought it was, it was incredible. I loved the costumes, but, but I will say, and you're probably going to laugh at me about this, I was so distracted because her hair didn't move an Iota.

Like, it did not move. It was like plastered to her head. And I'm like, does she have a wig on? And it is just like a solid hair. Like, do you know what I mean? I didn't notice it at all. I'm sure. I'm sure. Right. Because they were jiving. So there's a lot of bouncing going on. Yeah. Yeah, you're right. Her hair didn't move. But maybe that's the whole point. They didn't want her hair flipping around. I'm unsure. I don't know. I didn't notice it when I was watching it. It just distracted me. I was like, I just want to see a little hair movement. Not that it's part of the choreography, choreography or anything. I just was like, waiting, like watching her hair, waiting for it to move. Just a little hair. Isn't it so? It is really interesting the things as viewers that we pick out that like these pros and these dancers, they're probably not. They don't think twice about this stuff. But it's like the normal people stuff that we think about. Like, why is her hair not moving? She's got so much aquanet, you know?

Exactly. It just takes you out of the moment. You know what I mean? Yeah. So I feel like it regardless. I'm probably one of maybe zero people or maybe a few people who even noticed it. But it just, it just drew, like took me out of the dance just, you know, momentarily. I came right back because it really was such a good jive. Like so much content and really it was, like he was professional. Yeah. Like he's phenomenal. Yeah. I concur with everything that you say. And they got a 24 out of 30, which is, there I go again. I'm really happy to see a very high score, Trista. Like give them what they deserve. And I love that they, and maybe they're just trying to, you know, pump up Grey's Anatomy. But I do love that they're noting like, hey, dude, you're filming a show right now. Like, I told you, I underestimate everyone's career until I actually have to do it. And I'm like, oh my gosh. Okay. So he just gets up there and reads a few lines. No, no, no, no. He's like working two very demanding jobs right now being on set.

And the little pieces that I know, and you know this too, Trista, I love getting to be myself and getting paid to be myself. And I'm very extroverted, introverted. And it's a lot. Like I am exhausted when I come home from hosting an event or being the, you know, my face out there and having to smile and be friendly and kind and all of those things. I can't imagine like I wonder when he comes home. Does he just like plop on the couch? And he's like, I just, I need to eat a cookie and like watch something and not speak to anyone. I'm sure I am the same way. And I'm sure it's just a personality thing. But there is, there's so much adrenaline that happens when you're on one of these shows. Not only is the adrenaline pump like right before you go on stage and really the whole week like rehearsing and building it up in your mind and worrying about being out there on, on live television and having to do your best.

But then, you know, afterwards just the excitement of the scores because he got really great scores. He got the, he tied with Amber for the top of the leader, leaderboard. So like all of that adrenaline is so up, up, up, up, up the entire night. So I can't imagine like Ryan, when he would come home from work, a lot of adrenaline to, he wouldn't be able to sleep like until he calmed down. He'd like a moment to like decompress. Yeah, totally. So I'm sure I would assume that every single one of the celebs, the pros are used to it because this is their job. This is what they've been training for for years and years and years and years. And but the celebs, not necessarily. So I can't imagine that every single one of them goes home and is like, I just have to veg like whatever that veg looks like, I'm sure they're veg ice ice my calves. Ice my knees were old ladies. We're old ladies. And I already think knees are weird anyway. I think they're the worst part of a body.

I like don't even want to wear shorts because I think knees are so weird. But you know what I mean? Like ice your knees because we're old. Yeah. And your whole body truly like get in a ice bath or a hot tub or whatever because they've got to be so sore. When you're dancing like this, you are activating muscles that you never even thought existed. Yeah. So I think they're probably all feeling it. I unfortunately, this is kind of the time when injuries happen. And so I'm wondering if there's going to be an injury on the season because they just work so hard and constant that they rarely have the time for breaks. So that's when your body breaks down. Yeah. I wouldn't be walking Trista. So I'm more into all of these people. Yeah. No kidding. No kidding. Yeah. That invite to brunch, you're hesitating because brunch isn't just brunch for you.

Okay so next is Taylor and Brit and they had a lot of critiques of them and it was interesting because I feel like this is where the critique criticism kind of comes in for me is if you compare them, Julia to Taylor. Julia's dance in my mind was very similar to Taylor's. I felt like it wasn't the greatest. It just didn't pull me in like I said but they gave her a lot of really good critiques and they gave him a lot of not so great critiques. That's where my confusion comes in. Why wouldn't you say the same to Julia? Do you know what I'm saying? I hear you but I don't know that I feel the same. I don't know that their dances were comparable and again I am no professional dancer here but when it came to Taylor I was kind of like every bit of it was a little dry for me.

She can still perform and smile and she's got, you know, she hits the point and sort of stuff. Whereas when he got out there it was like if he didn't have a pro he would have just been like spinning circles in the center of the dance floor. You know, it was kind of missing on all parts for me. The connection with the audience, the viewership, the connection with the camera, you know what I mean? The lack of enjoyment on his face. I know. It feels like he just wasn't having a lot of fun. He's been forced to be there. Like he's been forced to be there. Yeah, there wasn't enthusiasm for being there. And I felt like him and Brett have a good connection but it was like almost like they're just friends, they're happy to be together. But all the other couples I feel like are very enthusiastic about being there. I actually don't think that they have a great connection. I didn't see it. Oh, you don't. When they were giving him his scores, like a lot of the pros and their celebrity you see

like the hugging, great job, the encouragement, all of that stuff. And that was lacking between the two of them. I don't think they hate each other by any means. So I don't know if it's like, I don't know if that's just he's so dedicated to his wife and his children. He's not going to give off that vibe. He's, you know, and she's a beautiful woman. You know what I mean? I'm not sure. Obviously, as I'm not there and I'm no professional by any means. But it is not giving what some of the other partners in the show are giving. You know, like there is not a whole lot of engagement between the two of them when they are doing the interviews with Julianna, you know, I'm just not seeing it. I'm just not seeing it. It was more like a professional thing. Like there, yeah, totally. They could have just fist bumped each other and I thought that was more appropriate than them being like, great job. You're awesome. Thank you. You know, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. True. Yeah. Well, they only got an 18 out of 30. So I thought that was very fitting. He wasn't the lowest on the leader board. He was, well, he was tied for third to last.

Yeah. I even thought that score was kind of generous, Trista. Yeah. Right. You know, and I hate doing that. I hate saying that. But I think if we're looking at a competition show, I thought that score was generous. Yeah. That's all. And I, you know, coming from someone in episode one, I was, I was rooting for my handsome brother. Like I was like, okay, bring them back. Let them have a new album. Let this be their comeback. You know what I mean? It's rooting for him and it's just not portraying across the television. You know what I'm saying? So I know that we texted back and forth last night and for those listening, we usually do this. There's a group chat between our producer Heather and Trista and I and we go off on the show, you know what I mean? Just noting things and talking about things that happened. Mora has so surprised me and I need to say it here so that our listeners hear me. I genuinely did not have high expectations for her. And Mora, Mora, am I saying it right? Mora, Mora, and Mark were so good last night.

She is, I expect it from Mark again. I know who he is, but she is so stunning on the dance floor with her. She's stunning. Like this is going to sound weird. I don't know if it's the right way to say it, but like her limbs, her arms and her legs move so gracefully like a dancer. And now is, did she have the ability before she came into the ballroom or is this like props to Mark? Like he's just that good. No, this is Mark. This is Mark's teaching. He has been able to draw out a dancer. You know, like she, she said, she's like, I have no dance ability. He has drawn out those lines because there are a lot of people on the show who I said it last week have like pancake hands. Yeah. And that cuts like your hands do not look pretty with pancake hands unless you're like a cheerleader and you're like doing like, you know, like hard staccato movements. In ballroom, you definitely need to like focus on your hands. I remember, I think I told you this, I remember in one of our dances, the Rumba that I did.

Louis was like, stick your pinky up and it's very precise. Like your hands need to be. Because it goes against everything that we are. You know, when you watch the old English and they're like drinking with their, and it was like, hold away that you made fun. Like, yeah, I have said this to you before, like everything that they have to check off the list mentally before they start, okay, smile. Be this, be animated, watch your fingers. Do your pinky, point your toes like, you know, and remember a dance that they just learned. Yes. And not and being not a dancer and that this is the, the contradiction of Taylor and Mara. Like Mara is so excited to be there. She has such an enthusiasm for this show and she's so happy to be there and she's so happy to be doing it with Mark. Like the fact that that's what I'm talking about. Like I love to see enthusiasm. Yes, you can be bummed out that maybe you just didn't perform the best. I totally understand that. But it was never there with Taylor and with Mara, it is so there.

She is so elegant out there in this dance and was so like passionate in the tango. That is a great comparison. Trista, we just went from Taylor to her. It is a great comparison because as a viewer when you are watching it on the screen, you're giving off two totally different vibes. She, like, she like, bleeds it. You know what I mean? Like, I feel it when she is dancing. I feel her joy in her excitement and I feel the connection between her and Mark. And that was lacking with Taylor and his partner. Like it's, that is a prime example of what we're talking about here. Yeah. I totally agree. And I do want to point out in her dances, she is so good about finding the camera, about playing up the camera. Like with a little bit of acting thrown in there and just having so much fun, I do have to say I thought she deserved way more than one eight. Like she should have gotten at least one more eight and then I would have been a little

more happy. But I thought her dance, like, she is a stunner. I called it last night and I've called it before on our text thread. I see her in the final. That's so awesome. Yeah. I know that I saw it before, but I saw it last night. I saw it last night. And honestly with her accent, I could just sit around and listen to her talk all the time. Like, at there, sometimes I hate to say this. Sometimes the whatever the pre footage is of them when they're practicing. Yeah. Sometimes I'm kind of like, I don't know. I don't really, you know, but I always watch theirs because she has such a playful, fun personality. And even though she is, she is saying like, this is hard. I'm trying so hard. I don't want to disappoint Mark, you know, all of those things. I just love that she is so carefree. And then I just like to hear her talk all of her little like say, all of her things. I just like to hear her speak and she's, yeah, she's beautiful. I, 22 out of 30, I thought was very fitting, but yeah, maybe she could have gotten a better score, but I'd like to see her each week improving.

And yeah, I think that she has a place in the final, Trista. I think you could be right. I hope so. I hope so. Because I really love watching her on the dance floor. Yeah. Okay. Sierra and Brandon, that hair was amazing. Like I was like, yes, she should get high scores just for the hair. She is so gorgeous. I don't know if you watched the VMAs this week, but I watched the pre-shows and she was walking up her bed and she wore this really smoke. She is, she's gorgeous. She's gorgeous. Yeah. She was wearing this really smoking hot, brown outfit, like bearing her whole body, but it was giving very Tyra banks from like 20 years ago. Yeah. Yeah, totally. Yeah. I loved the vibe of this dance. I didn't think it was the greatest dance she seemed very wobbly and like she didn't stick her movements. There was just a lot of, it just wasn't clean enough for me. But she's clearly mixed-dreamly smoking hot. So yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. She got an 18 out of 30. I'm not sure that, you know, what do I know about about scoring, but yeah, I thought she did good. Yeah. I thought she did good. I thought she did good. So yeah, I didn't get the whole like persona thing. I know they tried to tell us that and give us the backstory, but I think it was lacking for me. I think it just had to do with like the whole, like the, the outfit and like how she was at the beginning of the dance, like, like kind of on the top of the stage when they were clinking glasses. You know, she explains that when she was in summer house, they did a 70s party. And that's where this like persona was born, right? So then they tried to parlay it into this and her dance. And I guess it was a whole backstory that I just didn't need. I just didn't need it. Yeah. Yeah. Cool. You have gold teeth in. Cool. Like you looked great. You danced well, right? But like I didn't need, I didn't need the persona, right?

But then that you, when she's being interviewed, they ask her about it. She's like, just look at the teeth. And I'm like, I don't, okay. You know, like it's like, it's up there with me with the mocktails. I didn't need it. Totally. Right. Didn't need it. Yeah. I agree. That invite to brunch, you're hesitating because brunch isn't just brunch for you when you've got food allergies. It's research, preparation and food avoidance. Okay Jackson and Emma, he did easy lover by Philip Bailey and Phil Collins. I mean, hello Phil Collins is just an icon. So Carrie Ann said she loved the intensity. Derek said there were some really good moments. He wants to see him more bold. I felt like I wrote down in my notes because I actually ended up taking notes last night. I'm like, I need to remember and you know my memory. It sucks. So Carrie Ann said he wasn't sinking with the music. Totally agree with that. His musicality, like he doesn't hit the beat. He is not hitting everything on the beat. He said he was above the beat, which I totally agree with. I need that's just a very basic part of dancing, especially on this show.

In the very beginning when Giata was like, she couldn't find the beat. I was like, oh, this does not bowed well for her because in dance, you have to have rhythm and be able to pick up the beat. And I just feel like he's not landing on the beat. So hopefully that's something he can work on next week. But it wasn't my favorite. It kind of fell flat too because I was watching and being like, oh no, he missed it again. Oh no, he missed it. Do you know what I mean? Like it kept distracting me. Yeah. And I think that when he's on the baseball field, it's just a different thing that he's doing. Right. And he's performing too old. Now he's in a fall crowd trying to do his dance. I love that he's giving it a shot and I love that we're seeing a different side of him. I am guessing Trista that in the next couple of weeks, we're going to see that it just doesn't, it doesn't line up. Yep. It doesn't line up. I will say, I will give them this. I always see Emma giving like the verbal cues or the counts or whatever.

Like you said with Whitney and Guillermo this time. She does that all the time almost every season and usually she has like lower level dancers. She was, she was not doing it last night. So I, and I, now I'm looking for it like actually watching her to see if she is doing it. Okay. Which is not a good thing to be doing when I'm trying to take in the whole dance, you know, but they did not do it last night. So I'm like, okay, at least she's not having to give him verbal cues and he's getting the dance. You know, so I don't know. I really was happy about that. That's, that's improvement to me. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's all right. It was missed. Connor and Riley, these two little cutie pies, I mean, they're just, I just want to like send them to like the diner down the street and have them share a milkshake. Like they are just adorable, young, innocent, sweet. You know what I mean? I also didn't love his dance. He got a 20 out of 30 and he's the one for me where I'm kind of like, ah, I don't

know. Did he really deserve that? Mm-hmm. I don't think so either. Yeah. I thought it was a very generous score. Yeah. Very generous. That's also where I'm like, really? Did he deserve that? Are we keeping him around? Yeah. The Mollet, love the Mollet, and I do love their partnership. I feel like we're, all of us are shipping them together, right? Like they're, I really wish that they do go out on a date. It doesn't matter if you go for a milkshake, but I love that visual. Yeah. Yeah. I think they're really cute. I don't necessarily see him going very far, but I think he'll be around for at least a couple more weeks. So. You know what I also just real quick before we move on to Ginaduan is like, they're, the judges' feedback didn't match that great score. Yeah. Right. And several critiques for him. It wasn't really terrible, but it just didn't match that generous of a score.

Yeah. Yeah. So it was fine. 20 out of 30. I mean, that was excellent, right? We'll see him dance another week, which is super exciting. My big hit for the night, which is no surprise, Trista, was Ginaduan and Val. She was like a sweet little love kitten out there dancing her little face off. It is no surprise. She is phenomenal. She's phenomenal. She looked beautiful. A hair was great. I loved the little, I don't know what they are, little rhinestones that were on her eyes. Like when she was doing her after her dance, her little interview backstage, I was just staring at her. Like she's just beautiful to look at. She is gorgeous and she's an incredible dancer. Two things that I know. She is a dancer. Like she could definitely be in the final. But the thing about this show is you need to feel connected to the people who are on it and in order to vote for them, which is what we're seeing with Taylor. I don't think people were connecting to him.

So that's, you know, why what happens happens or what happened happens with her in their package. And I don't know if you watched it because you said sometimes you'll zone out. Val specifically said to her in the package at their rehearsal. Your dancing is amazing, but we need to know who Jenna is. And again, she said, I'm here because I love to dance. I get that. I understand that. And it doesn't need to be your why while you're doing the show. But we want more Jenna. We want more of the like, bring us into your story. Bring us into behind the scenes, push open the curtain and let us see inside. And I feel like more. Yes, that what you're asking for. Yes, I need that. Like I need that with her. As I've said, I looked up to her. She was one of the people in as Janet Jackson's backup dancer. Like I wanted to be her. And I'm not like I'm not connecting to her.

Even though she's an amazing dancer, she could very well be in the final, but she needs to be more vulnerable and let us in. Yeah. Yeah. No, I agree. I agree. I'm caught up in like how beautiful she looks out there. You know what I mean? And she does. She looks great. I write Bruno said it was a sizzling tropical treat. I want to be a sizzling tropical treat. I mean, who doesn't? I will say someone said this. I can't remember which judge, but they do want. I want to see her slow down. And it's not her fault that she's had all fast pieces. But I would like to see the elegant side of her come out. I want to see her in a waltz or a fox trot next. And I hope that she'll get one of those dancers. Yeah. So I think it was Derek. I think he said, Dury wants to see her slow down. And he also made the comment he wants to see her hair up. Yes. Right. Because there is a lot of like she's got these fast dances. So there's a lot of hair whipping around. And she has that. She is very good at acting. And she puts on that very sultry vibe.

Is that the word I'm looking for? She's very sexy. She's very sexy. And the hair is sexy when she's whipping it around. And she's making faces at the camera. And she's, you know, yeah, I think he was really right on point when he's steady, like to see her slow down. And he wants to see her hair up. So we'll probably get that next week, don't you think? I would hope. Yeah. Well, she did great. She got a 21 out of 30, Trista. I was, that was a good score, right? For great score. She was at the top of the leaderboard. I think that it was, here we go. I took a picture of it. Amber and Harry were at the top. And then Mara was next. Oh. And then Ezra, Jenna and Tatiana were tied for one, two, three, four, fourth, essentially. So she wasn't at the very top, but she got a good score. Yeah. She got a good score. Let's move on to my boyfriend. Yeah. I'm going to say this in the most loving way. I was wondering what was going to come out of your mouth today. Tyler, I'm your biggest fan.

I'm not pulled this against me. I'm so glad that you're there. And I get to see you move around on the dance floor. And you've got your fiance there and your ex-girlfriend and me. So like, you have so much going for you. Yeah. Oh, man. Man, Trista, he looks like the giant, the jolly green giant moving around on the dance floor. And that's to be expected, right? He's a big boy. I mean, what is he like? He's mine and our producers, Heather, are dream. He's like six four or something like that. We like them tall. But he looks it on the dance floor. He does not, and I don't know if it's just how big he is. He cannot move like fluidly, like gracefully. And also that he's a man, right? The hands, right? The pancake. Even when he was watching his feet, even when he's doing his feet, it is very much like, like, one, two, one, two.

It is not like a fluid one, too, at all. Which is another example of why the dance that you get assigned and they get assigned dances is so important because he's so much better at the slow movements when he can be in frame and even then they're like, kind of like power position and leading instead of trying to like attack fast moves. Like, that's not his vibe. So I'm glad he's going to be around another week. Me too. No, I'm glad you're a star. Me, you know, I'm very happy about this. I was like scared for my boy last night that he was, you know, that he was on the shopping block. So I'm very glad that we all get to look at Tyler Cameron another week. You know what? He very much looks like he's constantly counting in his head. He is. I'm sure he is. I don't think he deserved the five. He got a five and two sixes. So he ended up with the 17 out of 30. But I was very scared that he was going to be sent home last night. Yeah. Okay.

So moving on because we've got to get going as Zara and Danny again, they're my favorite. They're, they're my favorite this season. He constantly shows us that it does not matter what you've been given at birth. It's what you do with it. And he is just so amazing, so easy to love. I love their partnership. I think they're, they're like the enthusiastic, enthusiastic brother sister duo. They love each other so much and they have so much fun together. And he is so enjoying the show and is so enthusiastic and he's so freaking good. I honestly call him to win the entire season. Like what? What? Yes. I feel like he's, he's my favorite. Okay. So okay. That's one, Trista just called it. Like you think that he'll be it. I do. I, I think he will be it. Okay.

I hope he's it. I, I feel like he's giving everything that we need him to give. He's such a fan favorite, at least he's mine. And I have a feeling that he's a lot of people too. He's also doing a really good job of social media. And I think in today's day and age that is so important to winning this show. Julia was saying that she was off of social media this week. And I think it affected her. I think you have to keep up with the fans. And Ezra and Danny are doing a great job of that. So okay, you've heard it here, people. Trista is calling it. I'm not ready to call my winner yet, Trista, because I don't like to be wrong. Yeah. I'm like, I don't care. I just want him to win. If I'm wrong, there you have it, folks. Trista is calling Ezra to win the Mirabal trophy at the end of this. Okay. All right. So we got to close out, but we unfortunately had to say goodbye. There were three in the lower, in the lower, oh my god, I cannot speak today.

There were three in the bottom three. We had Guillermo, we had Jackson, and we had Taylor and Taylor ended up going home. I have to point out really quickly. I don't know if you were watching, but when they announced Taylor was the one that would be going home, Britt multiple times to Taylor said, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. And I was like, why are you apologizing? Like she was taking so much of that internalizing it. It was like she was just like being responsible for it. Like it was all in her fault. No, I don't think it was her fault, truly. So I'm sure that I'm wondering if there is something that we didn't see as viewers, because also at the end, when they talk to them or whatever, and then they're as they're signing off the show when all of the other dancers come out, I'm not sure if you caught this. I caught it right away. Jenna is the first one who comes up to her, and she looks completely bug-eyed shocked, but you see her and I could not figure out what she was saying,

but she is whispering something to her. And I don't know what she said. I'd love to know. I'd love to know what she said. If we need to go back and replay that, I tried to see if I could figure it out, but there's something going on there that I don't think we know about. I agree. They were hugging for a really long time. Like there's a group of people around them, and Jenna would not let go, because they were having like a personal conversation. Like you're there. But even their Trista, you saw the connection with her, with everyone else, not with the two of them, when they're sent home and the two of them. I mean, you see them hug, obviously. But even when they interview them, he's not like, listen to she's the greatest partner. She did a fantastic job. Like I'm so grateful, blah, blah, blah. She says it about him that she is grateful. So I don't know if it's just a miss. I don't know. I feel like there's no other. We don't know about. And maybe we'll never know, but that's okay, because I'm gonna keep watching. And so are you. I'm gonna sleep at night. I'm gonna sleep at night. I'm gonna sleep at night. All right, everyone.
