A list-snuff production. I know we're gonna say we should cut this. We're not cutting this. Is that a loyalty test, bro? Stop run! What are you doing here? Get out! It's Matt and Alex. Yes, it is, your boys. Matt and Alex on a Wednesday. And I am nervous, Alex Tyson. I'm nervous. My heart is pounding not. Just because we're giving another clue away as to who will be joining us for the Adelaide rave. Absolutely. And not just because we're looking at the latest dating trend that producer Bronn has spotted in the news, but because I have something to ask you. You're nervous to ask me a question? Yep. You know you can always come to me with whatever's on your mind, man. No, I'm nervous and all will be revealed in just a few moments. Are you nervous because tomorrow on the podcast we're having our very special Matt and Alex adults only edition? Oh yes, I am very nervous about that.

I'm very nervous to, you know, know what our listeners get up to when the lights are off and the lotion's out. But no, let's just dive in, okay? Do I say? Because I just want to get this out of the way. My heart's pounding. All right, let's do it. This is Matt and Alex, the podcast. Everyone ready? We go. So excited. You know, it was a really beautiful night in April of 2015 when I took my partner, Belinda. You know, we'd been sort of dating for a little while. I would have met Belinda for the first time, just off Oxford Street. It was the standard and what was the name of that bar that I met Belinda for the first time? Oh, yeah, I'm upstairs at low five. Low five. I was about to say high five. Yeah. I mean, no, that's a different one. Low five. You were there when I pretty much met her for the first time. I mean, I'd met her once before, but only like briefly at a bar and then like a month later, she was like, hey, I'm in Sydney. I'll be in Sydney. You want to come and meet you somewhere? Were we seeing ballpark music that night? I remember seeing ballpark at the standard upstairs.

We showed a little bowling alley and they did a cover of beautiful people by Marryland Manson. Well, ballpark will be joining us for the Brisbane rave. They can be DJing and who knows what sort of. Probably not Marryland Manson. I don't think we're on board with Marryland anymore. No, but they do do lots of fun, different things, you know, whenever they're in the same place. So anyway, that's, let's do another... Honestly. Sorry, sorry, do we interrupt this story? No better song selectors than ballpark music. 100%. It covers, you know, these... I trust their judgment. So looking forward to seeing you at the Brisbane rave if you come on to hang out with us in ballpark. But yes, well, but when just from Brisbane, you saw her in Sydney that time. Yep. And then, you know, we started seeing each other, you know, here and there whenever we're in the same city. And we're living separately. Because you got my approval for that particular relationship as well. That was one of the other good benefits of... Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was good to finally get it in paper that you approved. Linda, ask me that night for your hand in dating. And I was like... Permission granted.

So we saw each other for six months and it was then on a night in Melbourne when I, when I asked... Linda, if she would like to be... my girlfriend. I mean, I'm not a marriage sort of guy. So that was about as... Yeah. That was about as, as supposedly as it'll get. Now, did you go... Some people do it, like, you know, when you're walking up steps, you take two steps at a time. Some people walk up one step at a time. Did you go on dates to exclusive to boyfriend girlfriend? Or do you like step over the exclusive but not boyfriend girlfriend sort of thing and just go straight to boyfriend girlfriend? Well, I can't even think of what it was. I mean, we were just dating for a long time because we were living in separate cities. Makes it tough to... Yeah, it made it easier. It's more mature immediately. Exactly. And so, and then, you know, and I was always touring and everything like that. So yeah, it was just sort of like catching up whenever in the same place. Falling for each other here. And then this was kind of the combined exclusive, will you be my girlfriend? I think I literally asked, will you be, would you, will you be my girlfriend?

Yeah. Of which, and then she said yes. And then, you know, we celebrated that night. You did the traditional place, the chisel on the girl's finger. The tradition you've held for many years. From that dinner I went and won the best, the director's choice award of the Melbourne Comedy Festival. Hang on. Hang on. That night. That sounds like a much better day than the day you claim to be your greatest day of all time, which has taken some wickets in the cricket and then the girl you like kissed you later on. I reckon director's choice in Belinda trumps that other high school day. Absolutely. That director's choice in Belinda day would be up there with the birth of Sophia. Like it is top tier. That's not to say a couple of wickets again, since it's grammar attached for the first 11 and, you know, a smooch at the back of the party. That was also a pretty damn good day at that time. Yeah, geez, that's not about top three. It's be honest. It's like the best AFL player today can beat the best AFL player from 1972. Doesn't mean that that 72 player isn't a great.

That's true. It is a shame that all the days you've mentioned a seven plus years ago, but... LAUGHTER Still waiting for you to appear in one of those days, does it? LAUGHTER Now, you might have seen that Kylie Minogue is playing the grand final of the AFL. Did you see that? I did see that news. Got it. Pretty exciting. Absolutely. I mean, only ballpark music could have the ability to select the best Kylie songs to put in that, because damn, she's got a catalog. Oh, yeah. It's going to be a ripping 20 men's. I was there last year watching Snoop Dogg and it was just hits back to back. And you know Kylie can deliver the goods as well. Homegirl, homeground girl, Melbourne born, I believe, or grubbing Melbourne, back to the MCG. Well, I can't catch out of my head. It's definitely in there, spinning around, definitely in there. Yep. I like a little bit of, um, you did it again. Did it again? It's amazing. It should be in there. I don't think it will be. Confided me might be in there? Do you know what I think? You're a peddarmal being there. Yeah, peddarmal being there. That came back with an absolute vengeance.

I reckon confided me will be the sort of songs that will start the whole theme. I do. Yeah, and then like she'll rise up or whatever, and then it'll be like, but um, but whatever. But when I go into it. Yeah, night like this might make it in. I don't know if she'll bring back a locomotion for the Australian sort of kitchness and nostalgia of it. Did you see me rocking the little tight little gold shorts on the Today show the other week? No. Wait. Why would you do that? Well, they were going to know. It's quite funny. I say it's the bad who Laura sleeveless rave shirt with a little and flurro-orage legionaire out of the Today show the other week. Yeah, like, like, because I get the brief on what we're going to talk about on the Today show like that morning, and they go like, hey, we'll talk about Kylie being in our snows like straight away. I look up to Blender. I'm like, do you have any gold shorts? And she's like, no. And don't even think about it. And I'm like, well, it'll be quite funny if I'm rocking gold shorts. She's like, no, don't. Just don't. Anyway, then I crept out of the house and went to the shops and bought some

little gold shorts. And I think it was quite funny. So, yeah, yeah, Blender. So anyways, it's a miracle I'm still in a relationship truly. Holding on like, there's different on those shorts. So can we get a, so the point of this, why am I talking about all this stuff, Ali Starcer? No, it's literally your nervous to ask me your question. Yes. Well, you know that I have been doing some incredible work with Toyota as part of the legendary moments campaign. You have been yourself and Ryan Shelton meeting some absolute legends of the game, Eddie Betts, most recently. Yeah, the incredible moment, goal of the year, playing for Adelaide against GWS. Anyways, so thank you to all the people who have enjoyed that ad that has been floating around. So I see it on TV. I've seen it driving along. It's like a big billboard near the highway. I go past the occasionally.

Not that. Yeah. Um, so, here's what I'm going to ask you. As part of that engagement, one of the privileges I get is to attend the AFL Grand Final each year. And, uh, I was wondering, Alex Dyson, whether you would like to go to the AFL Grand Final with me this year? Bro. Yes, yes, a thousand times, yes. Yes. I will absolutely do that, particularly because I thought you were going to go, Alex Dyson. Would you let me stay at your place while I do that? Oh, yes. Had I said, would have said yes to that as well. But would have felt stiff stuff. But yeah, of course, bro. I've got you, man. I can sit next to you and explain the rules of the game.

Well, it goes along. I'll tell you why, because I've got two tickets and they're nervous. Yeah. Because I just dropped about $750 on return flights. They're not cheap at the moment. And then I thought, oh, God, what if I buy flights and I so can't even do it? So now I'm glad that you can. Okay, a few. I won't have to cancel them. So we've got under grand final. Bronn? Sorry, they only gave me two. What if I go in for the pre-game? We switch around. Oh, you're right. Oh, you want to see the footy. I want to see the footy. Yeah. We make one perfect. It's indeed. The perfect one. Yeah, I mean, that's it. Oh, my gosh, I haven't thought about that. That's interesting. Well, I've got to, I've got to make sure Matt, we did talk about the time, the new story a couple of weeks ago, where a bloke was at work. One is part of the work prizes. This big makeup kit and handed it to his female co-worker. I was like, oh, I can't use this. Did that got home told his wife about it?

And she was livid. That she hadn't been asked. Did you ask Belinda if she wanted to go first? Oh. Because if she wanted to go, you could go with her and I wouldn't worry about it. Oh. So just the polite thing, maybe as much as excited as I am. And trust me, I'm excited. Like whoever is in the grand final should be a pretty good match. Oh. Yeah. Can I talk particularly? Sorry, I just, no. Given the way this entire story started about Belinda asking to be a girlfriend, you know, Gritty Goathe and letting her partner debase himself on national television and celebration. It could be a nice little little I'll make it up to you and we could go together.

Do you know how you know how you thought I might ask if I can sleep on your couch. I may need to still do that for quite some time for six to eight weeks. Well, Alex Dyson, if you are having trouble being attractive to the opposite sex or whichever sex you choose or if you're needing to make up for something, you just get that attraction back because a gold pan to the egg has been discovered. Well, we're moving past the eggs and we're going into the licks. Yes, step aside, eggs. We're all about the licks in the lead up to our adult only very wrongy episode that we have tomorrow. We are talking about dating trends and this one caught your eye producer, Bronwyn.

Well, did it catch your eye, Bronwyn or did it catch your nose? It caught my gag reflex on to throw. Oh no, why? What's happening? These idiots online are the new trend, you know, a part of like the whole looks-maxim weird world over there. We did talk about it a little while ago with looks-maxim where I was also introduced to the concept of mogging, which is where you look better than someone and therefore you have mogned them just right to their face. You've just been in the same room with them absolutely mogned them by being more attractive than them. So I quite like the term. I'm still yet to find a way to use it at a sentence, but I'm hoping one of these days I could bring out a mug. Now, Bronwyn, what do you see in this new dating trend? What is it called? So it's called pheromone-maxim where people, they're like not showering, not doing deodorant, just trying to, you know, elevate their natural mask and, you know,

try to have seductive chemicals come through. Elevate their natural mask. Yes. Oh, what a sentence. Some guys are literally boy-quiting showers to unleash their seductive natural sense on women, convinced that it'll somehow magically get them a girlfriend. It's a bizarre new offshoot of the looks-maxim trend called pheromone-maxim. The game plan, ditch the soap, skip the deodorant, and for a deeply concerning view, even drink their own urine to sweat out toxins. The theory is that cologne masks your natural mask, and letting those raw chemical signals fly will do all the flading for you. What? You know what's happening here? People encouraging you to not shower in order to attract people with your pheromones. This is, I'm sure it has to be. Has to be the latest 4chan prank. Because I remember the new iPhone came out. Some anonymous weirdo on 4chan made a quite official looking Apple phone ad that said, the new Apple iPhone can charge in the microwave. Just put it in there and turn it on. And you get back to 100 in just mere seconds and then just got people

to put it in the microwave. I'm sure they're just punking people and pranking them to absolutely stink around others as some sort of trick. Please, Bron, tell me that's actually what's going on. I wish that was the case. I really do. These people are freaks. Now, if you're having trouble dating, I think the last thing you want to do is stop showering. And all sort of like hygiene goes out the window. I think you need to start with the hygiene. Figure out how to respect women. And have a good personality. And that might help these losers. Okay. So wait a second. Wait a second. Apparently, people can be attracted. And I've read an article that is like this. Okay. It says that some people, sometimes people are attracted to other people's be out. Right? So the article that I read it was many years ago, the theory was, Was it Ralph or F.A. Commission you read this in? If you really love someone, you won't smell them.

You won't smell their Theo. They'll never stink to you. That's interesting. Because there's something inherently driving this lust or desire for them. And you sort of are attracted to them. It's a bit almost Pavlovian. You love them. They have the smell. So they end up loving the smell. The smell elicits the love. So body odor attraction is very much a thing. Okay. I think the people that this trend is targeting are people who are going out on first dates and looking to attract mates for the very first time. If you read any articles about how that might work, can I say though, let's just clarify something. There have been more people who have pulled roots without any kind of deodorant or they're anything like that. In history, then there have been people who have done it with deodorant and soap. Okay. So you're saying personality, Trump's perspiration?

Well, no, I'm saying when was deodorant invented? What? So deodorant was only invented in 1888. Every single human before that managed to have a physical relationship before deodorant. For many years. I mean, the oldest example I can remember of people, you know, we're not even going back to Egyptians or Romans or whatever. We're talking about mid-century London. You know, the rhyme, ring around a rosy, a pocket full of poses. A tissue, a tissue we all fall down. That is about the black plague. And a pocket full of poses, I think, is because the plague made you stink. I think you needed some buddy poses in your pocket to make sure that people weren't put off from the body disease you had. You were you were fero-monin at all up and down Europe. The cobblestone at that point. People would be walking past and like, oh, put some poses in your pocket. For God's sakes, man.

There's clearly a distinction between the natural odors and pheromones that are released from a healthy human to one that is rotting from the insights thanks to the plague. For God's sakes. It's all part of the one system man. That's all I've tried to say. All right. So anyways, I'm just trying to defend some of the theory behind these pheromone maxings. Okay, we can't all just be bagging out people who are trying new things. Well, John Safran did who have his famous stunt. It's interesting looking back on it now. And I also felt it interesting at the time. Borrowing, let's say, er, Eurasian women's clothing to conduct his own pheromone test. Because anecdotally, he was attracted to Eurasian women, but he wanted to know whether pheromoneally he was that was actually true and scientifically true. Because you remember he stole some of Linda Mariano's clothes? They went into your linda and took whatever.

I'm hoping it was a t-shirt. I mean, did he get permission to sound like very HR worthy? You don't remember that show? No, I didn't remember that bit of it. I mean, I've loved heaps of stuff that Safran's done in the past. But I don't remember him stealing Linda Mariano's clothes to wear to see whether he's attracted to Eurasian women. That's sorry. Sorry, no, no, no, not to wear to sniff. So it's not weird. He stole them to sniff. Apparently, anecdotal reports indicate that women dislike their partners, beau during the breakdown of a relationship. Something turns. So there you go suddenly, you stop liking them and you're like, man, this person actually stinks. I can smell them. Ron, how Steve smell? You got a good funk? Yeah, it's fine. Yeah, but he takes it daily. Shower, so that's, you know that that helps. Yep. After a sweaty day at work. Do you ever remember having him sort of smell bad? Did you ever think, oh, you smell?

No, I'm thinking about it. Not really, so... Well, there you go. See that? Statistically, it's impossible that he hasn't stunk around you. You just love him. Now, listen, listen, listen. Forget your pharaoh, Maxine. You know, this ridiculous rubbish. Okay? We all know the most effective way to be attractive to the opposite sex, or whichever sex you prefer, is to go to your local pub, get a couple of dollars, and buy some of those pheromone wipes from the wall there. Okay? The little moist towelettes. I doubt Bronty even knows what these are. I don't know what that is. Did they not have them in women's at all? No, because women aren't idiots, man. So, Ron, in a bunch of men's toilets, often at service station, truck stop toilet situations, there'd be a metal rusted vending machine on the wall that you could put in two dollars or four dollars, turn the crank and outcomes either a single condom

or a similar packet, like a KFC wet wipe that is labelled and marketed as pheromones that are attractive to women that you can wipe on yourself. It's literally sex appeal wipe. Like, that's what some of them have. Written on them. Have you ever bought one? I've never heard of that. Have I ever bought one? Of course I've bought one. What? As if I have not wipe on sex appeal. I mean, half is a joke and half is a hope. Is it like an old thing or is it still everywhere? Oh, they're less than less. It is out a little bit, I would say. Yeah, definitely when I was 18, 19, they were around the place, and you would like every down there, and you'd buy one as like a bit of a joke or you made it and be like, oh, good you do. Something like that. At least we did. Wipe on sex appeal. Yes, wipe on sex appeal. I just can't believe you've never noticed it. Why would bronze, I think there's wipe on sex appeal.

Why would that be in women's bathrooms? I don't think I've seen it. Exactly. Well, maybe women want to pick up as well. Women don't need to stoop to wiping on serviets from toilets in a last ditched effort to have some sort of romantic connection. It's not solving a problem for women, but I can't that they've been so unable to figure out how am I not able to attract a man. It must be I'm not wiping scent on my body. Brian, I would go home and double check with Steve that he didn't whip one of these bad boys out and the first night that you were together because you may have very well been lured in. I am going to ask him if he's seen it. But he's I don't believe they're real. He will know immediately. The second you say, have you heard about these sex appeal wipes? He'll be like, oh yeah, of course. Every single guy knows what I'm talking about. From the Benz toilet. I can't believe you've never heard of this. It is actually mind blowing.

I can't believe it because why would... Ideally, we don't talk about that. If we have... Why would we... Why would then if we have... used one of these wipes from the men's bathrooms out in the wild if we've gone to that level and used it, let's just say it's worked. Okay. Why would we then say to the person it's worked on? You know what? Got that from the buddy truck stop. Servo? Four bucks for that scent. That's what attracted you to me. It wasn't my natural furimones. It's... I wiped on sex appeal and that's probably what fault you're. There's no way you'd admit that. And if it doesn't work, you're too ashamed to admit it anyway. So why would women ever find out about this shame that we have? All right. Well, I'm sorry for letting the cat out of the bag. I'm sorry for letting down my brothers out there who... regularly smear. I hope that apologies to our regularly smearing audience. Regular smears. I'm sorry if I've shown how the weather rabbit's hiding in your hat.

But the good news is you may have just given me an inspiration for next week's parody, you matter of coin. Oh, okay. I'm looking for a man who's a smear. Okay. All right. Hey, look, we've got a... We've got clues. We've got clues for the Adelaide rave, okay? We've got our clue. Well, obviously we've got multiple clues for one particular artist who is joining us with Adelaide. So thank you. Don't forget. Thank you for listening to today's show. We're going to give you a couple of them to see whether you know who this individual is. I've collaborated with artists such as Boosika, Aster, Last dinosaurs, Mounan and Sam Sparrow. This person has quite the resume. Okay, what about next? I'm an artist and producer from South Australia and I love incorporating retro flavors in my music. I tell you what, does this guy host the local love song dedications?

Man, this guy... I think he needs to join us for our up late naughty show tomorrow. Show tomorrow. It's got a nice voice, doesn't he? Yeah, all right. Well, what about this next one? I've remixed an iconic TV series theme and also created a disco gym anthem which appeared in the 2011 hottest 100. My studio is packed for the vintage synthesizers and drum machines. Oh! Oh, okay. Okay, we might have to leave it there. I reckon if you know who this artist is, keep it in the mind, bank, because our final clue will be coming out later in the week. And once it does, we want you to message in all of the acts that you believe are on our Adelaide rave lineup and we'll be revealing who it is next week. Thank you very much for listening to another episode of Matt and Alex. We'll see you tomorrow for a very raunchy episode. It's our up late night edition. But it'll be coming to you in the morning. Oh, whenever you listen. See you then. Bow, bow, bow, bow.
