Hey, just call Mo. How you doing, John? I'm fantastic. I'm always good when I'm here on Thursday morning. I play hockey the night before. I had an early hockey game, so I got home at 11 instead of playing at 11. Yeah. Are you playing games or are you practicing? Yeah, no. I play an old man adult league. Our game last night was at 9.30, so we got done at a reasonable time.
Oh, that's late. Oh, 9.30 is the early one. Really? Yeah. Sometimes it's 11 or 11.30 that we start. Oh my gosh. Yeah. We'll tell the folks over at the ice-dend to give us earlier times. They should. I wish they were. I think they have kids play at like 6, 7, 8 o'clock, and then the old men play after that. And how many people are on your team? Normally 13, but not everybody shows it. People have, you know, they get hurt. They have lives. They go on vacation. So if we get 10, 11, 12, we're pretty happy. That is. Yeah. I wouldn't think there would be that many people that still... That's just my team. But there's four teams in my league. So you have like 40 guys out there playing hockey? At late at night. Yeah. Late at night. Yeah. And that's just Wednesday. I mean, there's other nights of the week that people play. But I... You see, how's the club team now, too? Yeah. 20-year-old Cal. No, I'm just saying that the popularity of that is, you know, because he surprises us. There's four teams out there, you know? Yeah. When with older guys that late, you know, like all that stuff together seems like it would be difficult to draw.
It's 35 plus the league I play. And it's like the lowest one. I started playing when I was 40. So like I'm not... You started playing hockey when you were 40. Yeah. So you... It wasn't like you played as a kid? Did you play as a kid? I played a lot of roller hockey as a kid. And I... I can skate, but like I never played ice hockey. Oh, okay. So I was like 40 years old. Let's do it. Yeah. I saw a post where you went to a, uh, uh, Ravitas Pig. I did. And you were really giving them a lot of love. Yeah, yeah. So, uh, my wife and I went and saw a show Friday night and we were hungry afterwards. And, you know, we were kind of like, where do you want to go? And so my, we... That's kind of like our go-to spot the Ravitas Pig. Because I just think every time I go there, the food is fantastic. It is. That's fair. It's just so good. I hear that from everybody. I've been one time. And the one time I went, it was like a... It was one of these business meetings, you know? Yeah. And I was like, I'm going to go and you got to talk to her client, you know? And I really, I couldn't enjoy what I was doing because I was like talking about stuff I didn't care about. And Russ doesn't like people watching him eat. I don't want people to watch me eat. I don't know. Don't you eat a lot? I do. Exactly that.
Russ. Exactly that. That's exactly what I was going to say. Russ walks around things that people watch him eat. And while looking fat boy eating again, you know, I don't want to hear that. No one has ever done that to you. Russ, I hate to break it down. Amy needs to talk about that. We talked to her yesterday. We talked to her yesterday. Oh, okay. So, but anyway, Robin is big. Everyone, everyone raves about it. Like I said, only with the one time and I didn't get to really dig the experience. But so that's where, because most people like it for you and your wife have about five places they go to and that's about it. They don't really try other places. That's what I've heard before. I go to a lot of spots because I do the radio show with Brendan. That's right. And we do the Orlando Shine show. So we used to go out to all these places. Lately, we've been recording them on video and then releasing them that way. But we would go to all kinds of restaurants because we got invited to them and we would go check them out. But to your point, yeah, like when it's time to where do you want to go asking my wife? Yeah. Where do you want to go? There's about five places that we end up in. Robin, this pig is usually one of them.
Have you done one of the chicken parm things and then it was so good that you tell your wife, hey, we got to go to this place together. There's a few, I don't go out to Italian that often because I feel like I can make Italian at home. Francesco is probably one of the better spots in mainland and there's a place called Christine's that we've been to, which is off of I drive in San Lake area. And that place is fantastic. Do you ever been to Christine's any of you guys? That's one of most favorites. It is, there's a guy playing in a court in there. The waiters are in and Tuxedo's like it is like like the godfather in there. Have you ever been to Inzos? So Inzos, inzos of the lake, speaking of your five places, Inzos is one of those places. It is because like I think that was one of the first places my wife and I went to when we've moved here. It's been here so long. When I had my party rental company, the actual Mr. Inzo, like the guy that started, I know he's down around any longer, he passed away, but Mr. Inzo used to order like plates and stuff from us and you know, so we would deliver China somewhere there all the time.
And what a nice guy. And I did get to try it a couple times, but you know, I was younger. I didn't have that kind of money then because it was expensive at the, you know, because that's high. Yeah, I thought, I mean, I mean, dinner is aren't $50. I mean, I mean, you can probably spend that, but you could probably get out of there doing a 20, 30 bucks in on trade. But I know they sold. Yeah, they sold. And then I think a lot of people were afraid that it wouldn't be the same, but I think it's been great. We actually just call Moe. We had our Christmas party, holiday party there last year. And it was fantastic. They treated us so good. And we had like a private dining area. We got to like look out on the lake. Yeah, Enzo's is one of those five spots that if we can't, because it's in long woods with a little farther from where I live. And sort of hidden back in a, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then you can eat, they, they, they re did like the lake area where you can like sit out there and really enjoy it. He would deliver, he would ask us to deliver 10. So we'd sit 10 some like there for weddings and stuff. Mr. Enzo was just such a sweet guy. I really, as a good spot. As a good spot. So do we have anything going on this weekend, Angel?
Yeah, we do. And it's brought to you by Orlando shine.com. It's your new favorite news site for central Florida headlines, a career curated by Brendan O'Connor. Hi, Bradette. He's sweet. He's coming from windom here to the space coast of everything in between. Russ, I'm surprised that you haven't gotten an email or an invite or ask to be a part of this. You know what's going down on September the 20th? It's not a furry convention. I do know. Russ is called the biggest flop of the year. What was that? It's the belly flop contest. Frankles flop fest is one of a kind belly contest held annually in the Baldwin Park neighborhood area. And they've got food trucks. They got drink. And I think they're on new broad street this year. You can't miss it. You can't miss it. And is this the one that used to do downtown? I think they did it early, hardly at one point. I could be wrong. Maybe that's what I think. Yeah. So they've moved it over to this location. If you want to register and you want to be a part of it, if you want to be, if you were a food truck or if you were any, which way that you want to be participating in this,
you can go to franco's flop fest dot com. It's on Saturday, right? Yeah, the Saturday to a clock. Roughly 145. It starts. But it's all the people there, man. I know. I know Brendan has been a judge for that at some point. I don't know if he is this year or not. I don't remember. But you know, there's, you know, there's certain ways to wait. If you're going to do a belly flop, you got to go. Like you can't just sort of pretend like you're going to jump and then do a small slide. You really do. Way, way, way back in the day. I think there was like the second or third Miss monster. We did a belly flop competition and we had a dude that was legitimately 400 pound. Okay. Dude, the belly flop. And he did it in a thong. It was great. It was a crazy thing. I was going to go. Yeah. They got events start time at 12 o'clock. Because they have the vendor market and everything. But the contest starts like you were saying at 145. Customs encourage. Yeah. The one cost. Yeah. Dress up. Do all your thing. And that's again, the location is 4882 New Broad Street Orlando. And then there's a parking garage, street and parking garage that you can park.
So they have that going on. Other events that are going on here in Orlando, Russ. This is pretty cool. And this is September the 17th through October the 8th. It's refighted our gallery inside city arts. And it's going to be the stick and slap three into the wild. It's the largest sticker art exhibition in Florida. You sticker man, Russ. What kind? The kind that stick on. They got a regional sticker design. They got a regional sticker designs from 100 curated artists across Florida and surrounding like stickers, like little paper stickers centered on animal kingdom and wildlife themes. There's a whole thing about that. Yeah. And it's going through October the 8th. So people it's free and open to. Yeah. Free and open to the public. I can't get out of a shop with my wife without her buying stickers. What? Yeah. Put some on coffee tumblers. I mean, we give them out to the radio station for things, but I mean, you love them. But I call sticky trash. Yeah. I don't really, I don't do stickers.
Yeah. There's one on our truck that says, stop honking, start hanking. And there's a picture of Hank Hill on it. That's pretty funny. That's pretty cool. That's a good one. I like that. Yeah. So that's going down. Again, starting this weekend all the way through October the 8th. Yeah, not a sticker man. No, no, no, we don't do stickers. That's just calm off. You're messing. We do a lot of magnets. We don't do a lot of stickers though. I like the magnets. Uh-huh. But you know, you go on vacation, you stick a sticker somewhere, you take a photo of it. Okay. When I was a kid, I remember there were these stickers. I think they were, what the hell were they called? It was all like dirty garbage. Garbage pale. It was like garbage pale, but it was like that. They would take like instead of spam, it would say something else and it was like a cram or something. I don't know. Well, you do. They would change everything up and make them like goofy or dirty or something like that. I remember I used to collect those stickers. We have a just call mode garbage pale kids inspired magnet. Okay.
There's a few left actually on our website. If you go to the Mo-Mart, if you go to shop.justcallmode.com, you might be able to find a few. We got a good, we got one and people love that one. We're almost sold out of that. Look at all the artists for that. That is crazy. There's a lot of stickers. There are so many little niches that people just don't know about. They don't realize that people are into. There's one of them. Stickers. I have no idea. There is something to be said in Orlando. If there is something you are actually into, there probably is a group that does it as well and you just got to go find it. I mean, I'm looking on the land of shine. I didn't know about this event. We got the Golden Girls Wild Pub Crawl. I'm assuming you dress as a golden girl type situation and you go and do this and that looks like a tell of a good time. Are you a blanch or are you more? Who are you? I'm a rose. Oh, man. You know, like a... By the way, the thing I was just talking about, it's see if you can look it up if they still have wacky packages. Wacky packages. Now listen, I'm older than you guys.
There's early 70s wacky packages and you would just buy these stickers. You'd have to go to, I have to go to the U-Totum and get them. You get like a pack of like eight of them and hopefully you got the cool ones. So once I remember we're like a graph or hip hop base and I was living in New York at the time and it was under the giant has a posse sticker and it was so awesome. That's it, right? Did you ever see those? Wacky package. They're stickers and they have everything is like bastardized like they take a, you know, yeah, it's like they take old advertisements like cigarettes and beans and then they make them kind of dirty. Instead of cheers, it says sneer and the guy sneer in a stupid really. But we put these on us. I had a, I had a booklet and then I would just put them on the booklet and collect them and cop cars. No, I had a book that I'm just, you know, put them on. It's funny. I mean, that really is a precursor to probably the garbage pill kids. Yeah, like that's what it's inspired.
That's interesting. I've never seen those. They have Peter Payne peanut butter. Yeah, yeah, play dumb. Yeah, they played down to play. Doe play dumb. Yeah. Oh, man, I just love collage. I guess they still make them to a point. Do they really? Yeah, there's like a, there's updated versions. Hmm, ones that I saw of Russ's favorite cereal. What is it? Fruity peppers. Just dumb ones, yeah. Yeah. I ain't listen. If you're injured on the go, if you're an accident on the go, just call Mo. It's just call Mo. Come see out of town today or. Yeah, he's out of town, but please come to our comedy jam as well. That's a Saturday, October 17th. Just call Mo the fifth annual comedy jam tickets are like 20 bucks at the Orlando funny bone. We got Amy LaCours. Oh, she's one. We got Sean Finnerty, who is actually there last year, but the show is a little different this year. They're going to do something. It's a little more interactive. So all the comedians are going to do jokes based on like topics and they're going to, you're going to be able to vote on it. But Amy LaCours, Sean Finnerty, Will Blalock, Larry Fullford and Ross McCoy.
And I feel like I'm forgetting somebody because I should have it in front of me, but I think I got them all. Okay, very good. And to get tickets, you go to mocomedyjam.com. Very nice. Have a great weekend, John. All right, you too. I don't go anywhere you're listening to the matchers the morning. Never wanted to try an Olympic and Paralympic sport. Tri-Fencing. I got everything on there that's coming up with the the brew bus, monster brew bus, also with the the spray of scarecrow's out in Melendora. We got a comedy night that's coming up.
How are we doing? Do we want to talk about that now or no? The monster down to comedy with Ryan Holmes or with. You got some other events to get to before I figured this out. So you still have a bigger line. Still haven't figured it out. Okay. It'll be. So a new study, new report says that 54% of Americans say that they, their mental load is maxed out all of the time. So that's 54% maxed out all the time. And then another, you know, here's your choices, whether you're maxed out all the time, whether you are, you don't feel like you do enough or you have good balance. Where do you think, where do you guys think you're at? I will say with me, I think I have pretty good, I've worked it out. I have before I think I used to be different. I think I'm pretty balanced now. I don't feel maxed out and I don't feel like I don't do enough. I feel like I'm pretty right in the sweet spot. But how about you, and you'll do you feel like you're maxed out mentally or do you feel
like you don't do enough or do you feel balanced? I definitely don't feel balanced. I don't feel like I'm maxed out either though in that regard. But I can understand where a lot of people feel or that number getting there in that study just by just the nature of what's going on day to day. If you're paying attention, if you're engaged in everything that's going on, I can understand how someone gets to that maxed out feeling right away. And I've been there for sure. And I'm just saying, not, you know, with work, with what's going on in our society, with going on with, you know, with social media, with your paycheck, with your buying groceries, buying gasoline, like all the other time to do everything. That's kind of what they're talking about. Time and resources and event that, you know, if you want to do these things, you know, you're going to have to work more, you know, so, yeah, I can understand why people feel that way.
So you don't feel balanced and you don't feel maxed out, so you feel more like you don't do enough. Those are the three choices. One of them because, no, I do plenty, dude. Yeah, so I'd say like a tick up from a tick up from or a tick below maxed out and a tick above just doing, having a balance somewhere in the middle. Yeah. How about you, Ryan? Do you feel like you're 54% of Americans say they're mentally, their mental load is maxed out all of the time. I don't know how y'all do it. I don't because I always think about this. I'm like, oh, I had one kid into my life and I'm done. Right. I'm not be able to do it at all. I'm just under maxed out and but it's effing close because I feel like my days go like this. I do, I do the show. I get done here about new niche and then I go home. I got the dogs to deal with. I try to get a nap in and then I like at all this other stuff. I got to do them. My wife gets home and then it's like, blah, blah, blah, blah, my day. And then it's like, uh, go home and then sleep and then wake up.
Repeat Saturday. They cannot. They're bam. Oh my god. Like, is it a conscious thought? Cause I don't, so I don't think about it in the process of the day. Cause I just, and the way that I view it is like, there's stuff I gotta do. It's just, oh, stuff I gotta do. You know, like, uh, you know, last few weeks, I've been doing a bunch of appointments with family and, and, and making sure people show up to different places and, and, and doing that part of it. But I don't, I don't wait. I don't think about it in the sense of like, that's maxed me out. But that is part of like what I have to do or what I've been having to do for, you know, uh, a little bit here now. And so that it's just part of the day, I guess. I think I don't know. Like, I don't know if I, if I even give myself the space or the grace to actually think about it, I guess is what I'm trying to say. I think my wife is forced me to have the balance. You know, I'm saying like, like, I used to probably max out all the time with just work stuff, work stuff, work stuff and, and, and, and, and, and feel a little stress. I think Mary Ellen's sort of forced me to go, hey, listen, you need more time.
To relax kind of a thing and you need more time to, to balance everything out. So I'm pretty happy with, uh, where I am. But I'd been there before where I've been to maxed out. But it, yeah, it's a lot, it's, it's an issue in America right now. Matter of fact, the mental load thing is one part of it. It is also, uh, this kind of goes into something we talked about yesterday on the 407 on Fox 35 with Marlisa Goldsmith. Thank you so much for having me on, uh, is that, uh, it chronic tiredness that, uh, you know, uh, that's a thing in America where, you know, more and more, uh, more, you know, people are going to the doctor and they're saying, listen, I am tired all the time. And you know what I've had this, uh, uh, this hasn't happened to me. I don't think since I was in college, um, there's been at least a few times in the, in the last few weeks where I've gotten home at like three or four o'clock and, um, passed out. I've, you know, just put something on TV and next time I wake up, it's one o'clock in the morning. Oh, wow. Yeah. Yeah.
And, and the reason why what I've just read about it is that when people are stressed out and they're stressed or they feel like they're mentally loaded or whatever, that that's part of feeling tired all the time and not getting the right amount of sleep, you know, or waking up in the middle of the night can't get back to sleep, which I've done three times this week, uh, like I woke up at the, uh, one o'clock in the, but those times I woke up and I wake up at like one and I'm like, what am I still doing this over? I got like all my clothes on everything and I'm like, oh, I need to go to bed. And then I go to bed and then, and then I'm maybe the fall asleep. I don't have a problem falling asleep. But the next time, you know, I wake up and it's like four o'clock and I'm like, oh, I don't feel like I slept like at all. So, you know, uh, I don't remember hearing about this, uh, five years ago or before that, that's something we ever can really talk about. People just can't get sleep. Uh, it's been in the past, maybe, okay, maybe five, ten years, you hear a lot about it. And it's sort of with the rise of social media. Do you think that has anything to do with it? Is it the economy? Yes. Is it maybe politics where people they don't like, you know, whatever or they do like it.
So whatever reason, yeah, whatever, however politics, uh, you have a fix you like, do you think all of that has it all together has the reason why people can't sleep and they feel tired all the time. You've checked off all the boxes. Yes, absolutely. Uh, and, and it could be, could it be what we eat? Could it be a, uh, yes. Yes. I, combination, I mean, for some people, you know, like, let's say, for some people, they'll have, let's say, I want to do those three of those things on that list, let's say they have them in check in certain spaces of their life, but then other spaces of their life, they don't get exercise and then they're feeling tired. Uh, for other people, it's going to, it's, it's going to be the politics. It's going to be the, the check. It's going to be, uh, work. It's going to be social media, you know what I'm saying? So I, and there are people, and then there are the people that are out there. I know some of them where, uh, they're maxed out on everything that you said, you just said they eat like crap. They don't work out. Uh, they're, you know, struggling with the paychecks. Uh, they're, they're so, uh, consumed with everything that's going on social media
wise. They, you know, the doom and gloom of it all and everything. Um, and yeah, they're just walking zombies to say, uh, you know, to say the least. I was watching, uh, I was thinking what it was. It was like a local news thing or whatever and they're doing a story on a young guy. And he had like three jobs, you know, in order to make, in order to pay all his bills, he had to have three jobs. And he really only got a chance to sleep like, uh, four hours or night or something. I'm like, man, that's, uh, that'll stress you out. That'll, that'll, that'll, that'll be hard for Ryan. Do you still have any issues sleeping? I know you had problems there for a while. Did you solve the sleeping issue? I, I'm talking about, I'm, I'm talking, I'm that guy. I'm tired all the time. Never sleep good. Get me, I'll get nine hours of sleeping. Not, not, and still tired. So I don't know. I got a new bed. I got my stupid fire hazard bed with a, with the damn, my guy, I thought you switched that out of year ago. No, yeah. We were, we were in talks with a, a mattress company here about like doing something. And then I guess that fell through unfortunately. So I'm going to have to go get that mattress. But I don't know. I just paid for a pool pump, man.
They're in, they're in mattress money around the house right now. Yeah, they, they put my pool pump in yesterday. So you, you finally got yours in? I got by and in. My guy came by yesterday. My pool is beautiful and running again now. Now it was upgraded horsepower, which is nice. What are the odds you and I would get have to have a pool pump in it on the same day? I feel like you sabotaged my pool pump. I say that now. Look at you two guys. We were fans, a couple of jack offs. We're jacking on and now you're pumping. Yeah, pool pumps are pumping in time. Pumping in Jagging. It's adorable. It is cute. Yeah. No, I don't know. I mean, I, this, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the guy told me they're supposed to last about five years. And that's pretty normal. Yeah. I guess you just something every five years. I got a plan to pay. You got to have it all this money. God, that pool is expensive. I can't wait till I got my lazy river. You gonna get it? I mean, like, it's going to be, it's going to be a lot more work, I think. Now that I'm thinking about it, though, somebody was explaining that to me. They're like the cleaning of a lazy rivers. Actually, a lot more work. Is it has your pool yourself? Because it has more sides.
Yeah, it doesn't. More side. I mean, I got the guy that comes and does the big pool clean once a week, right? Like Johnny, Johnny Poole's, he does that. But throughout the week, I go through it. And I, there's like, you know, there's build up and stuff that you got to get out of there. Every now and then there's like a duck or just a, or just 20,000 dead ants, which is, I don't know why these ants are killing themselves. He going back to the, the chronic, chronic tired problem in America. I mean, this is like a thing. The doctors are hearing it all the time. That's when they keep hearing everybody saying they're tired. They're tired. And allegedly, you know, the more you work out, the better the less tired you are. Does that make any sense? What? Yeah, yeah. Cause whenever I go to work out, I'm even more tired. It's not like that's solving my tired problem. Yeah, I don't think I've ever heard that. Yeah, that's one of the things they talked about is, well, if you'd exercise more, you'd be less tired. Because when you do sleep, you sleep harder, I guess, as the theory. Workout makes me wake up. That's the problem.
I'm going to be ready for my wife to get off work and then she won't be ready to go to the gym until about six, sometimes like six, 30 at night. Yeah. And we'll go work out then. And then your boy can't go to sleep until like one in the morning. It's obnoxious. But yeah, I can see that being a thing. I definitely like sleep better when I'm working out regularly doing any kind of exercise. But with what angel was talking about, we're, you know, watching it turn TV on and fall asleep. I like, I kind of do that almost every day. Like, Maryl, when I get home, I get my lunch. You know, like we're all one or something and we're watching TV and I'll fall asleep. And for whatever reason, I feel like it's the best sleep I have. I don't know what it is. I fall asleep in the middle of a movie or show or whatever. It feels like it's the best sleep I have. I feel that way, but you're, I mean, your, your self is not better than your bed. Yeah, I know. Yeah. I've been trying to watch the last Lord of the Rings movie for three weeks because every time I started, I fall right to sleep. And now I think it's like almost like a Pavlov dog situation. There's certain TV shows and movies that like, I love them.
Like Doctor Who, if I turn on Doctor Who, something bad in my brain goes, Oh, it's sleepy time now. Yeah. There's certain movies that they would just shot dark or the TV shows are shot dark or they're the dark. And yeah, that I will instantly get cozy and fall asleep. And neither one of you guys are watching Ted Lasso, right? No. Damn, it's good. It ended in the perfect way and I don't need to know anymore. The first episode, not good after that when they're back in England, it's been great. You know, Roy Kent and the whole thing we're going with it. It really is good. You guys are missing it. I enjoy looking, you know, waiting for it to come on every Wednesday. They like every Wednesday. It's like, Hey, honey, Ted Lasso was, you know, eat lunch and watch it. I got told you off. I'm certain I will fall into it and there'll probably be some long weekend or something and I'll watch it. I'm not going to go out of my way because again, because of the first things that I heard about it. And then secondly, the talk about it hasn't been not that it's been bad or good.
It hasn't been there. There hasn't been any. That's why I brought it up because I feel it deserves it. I mean, if there was a sense that I felt like I was missing something, you know, the formal about they brought Tracy Olman on and honestly, like, she's kind of funny, but she, but there's another character they brought on that's a code, the female coach. And she's, it's really a great character. I don't know. Again, it might all, all those things might be fantastically and awesomely done. Yeah, but this is again, one of the things that's a tell in our days now and the way that we do stuff. Yeah, people are talking about it. If you don't hear other other things or you don't see stuff swirling about it on social media, it kind of goes away. So like, right now, the gentleman, I'm finishing that up. And then the, the, the, Tom Hardy series, Skate Red just start up again. Yeah. And so those two things are occupying my, you know, kind of what I'm checking out. Well, I would just say if you're looking for something and you enjoyed Ted Lasso, the first episode, not my favorite, after that, when they get to England again, and there's
a whole thing with Roy Kent and the Keely and all that. It's really good. And like, I'm really digging it now. So all right, we got to take a little break. More big dumb fun when we come back. Don't go anywhere. You're listening to the match of the morning. Real radio is good. Jim. Hey, hey, monsters. Mornings. Radio one on four point one. Solve it all. The problems in the world. That's what we do. I'm Russ with a angel and Ryan. Here you go. Here's a problem we should solve. This was one another one of the stories. Once again, I want to thank Fox 35. They have me on the 407 on Monday and Wednesday. I'm on there with Marlesa goals with right at four o'clock. They have me in first the top of the hour. Next week, I'll be on their Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I'll be live in studio next Tuesday with them at four o'clock. One of the stories we talked about was this. And this is I'm reading the article here. Tell me why you think this is guys. American men's friends circles have shrank since dramatically since 1990.
If the close to back before 1990, it was like 3% of men said they have no close friends at all. Now it's 20% of men saying they have no close friends at all. And many, many men have like one friend. That's about it. It's really, it's really dropped since 1990. What do you think there is? And it's not with women. Women still have lots of friends. They still, you know, report and they have lots of friends. But with this study, it finds that more and more men just don't keep their friends any longer. Why do you think that is? Ryan, if you had to guess, since 1990. So the internet maybe has something to do with that, right? Maybe social media. I don't know. Why is he thinking most men don't have? And how many close guy friends do you have that you talk to in a week? I probably talk to about three dudes.
Right. Right. You're not counting me and Angel, right? And okay, well, five dudes, I guess if I'm counting you guys, but I don't talk to you guys outside of work. We have barely talked outside. We talked too much here that I don't, I already know, I have time to know what you guys are already going to say. Right. Exactly. Yeah, yeah. So we're not counting. You don't know what I'm going to say. And you're going to say that. And when I did, we're not counting what we say to each other. So it's a far, it's a guy friend. Now we know a famously angel has a lot of guy friends. Angels got famously, famously. He's got a crew. No, he's got a crew. He's got a crew. We don't got a crew. You and I don't have a crew. I got a crew. I got bow. You got, no, you got a Tony. You hang out with Tony. No, I don't hang out. I call and talk to my friend Tony. I call and talk to my friend Scott. So I've got guy friends, bow, obviously. I talked to, no, I talked to bow quite frequently. Now my friend Kim Hooker is a girl. So I know that counts in this whole scenario. But the whole story wasn't as that dudes are not having dude friends, right? Dudes are having dude friends. Yeah.
So like in my circle, the three or four guys that I almost, you know, every day or every other day is probably going to be like Ricky, Aaron, Andrew, John. And then I extended their Pedro, Manny, Alex. Yeah. So you got a bunch. When it says here, it says, men dramatically don't have close friends. It doesn't say guy friends. Cause like, I told more at least the yesterday, I said, like, given a choice, I just like hanging out with my wife. And I know that sounds gay or whatever. Like, I just like hang out with my wife. Yeah. That's what sounds gay about you. That's the least gaping that you've said all day. But I know, I think the other part of that is is, you know, and it's not talked about enough, frankly, is that there is an epidemic of loneliness going on. Yes. And for both men and women in this article, it says women aren't having that problem though. But I mean, I wouldn't say the numbers. I would say this, I'll put it this way. Let's say the numbers are not the same, right? But I think it's been impacted.
Men more, you know, it's easy for a dude to get in his own little silo in his own little cubby hole. He's got the internet. He's got, you know, all the things that he could do. And if he doesn't have to interact with anyone, it makes it easy for him, you know? Yeah. I'm looking at it. Also, they're not drinking. Like I, I, I will say this, this might sound controversial, but like kids. It's a child model. Children of a certain age, 21 and up. You got to start drinking. Yeah. You got to start all the kids that you're talking about are in school right now. No, no, I'm talking 21 and up, Angel. I'm talking 21 and up. Like there's something to be said about this, the social fabric that's based around drinking, like which is say, like obviously don't drink too excess or anything like that. But like with the way that they've pulled back from drinking is also a big problem with their social life. Texas Service Checking in and guys saying having a lot of guy friends is kind of gay. I don't, I don't think that's true.
No, they're going to be a joke all day. Shout out to the big homie Lou checking in. Oh. Oh, this guy says all my real friends are dead. That's depressing. It's hard to make friends. That's a hard one. Like, like, that's the worst. Like, because you get so few opportunities to make friends with dudes. Like best case scenario, you meet like a couple, like your wife has a friend and then you got to like basically have a play date with another guy to see if you like line up. Yeah. A lot of times you don't, you know what I mean? I've had to happen before and I'm not going to specifically make this. But it was like a couple like, I had to say, I didn't like that guy. Like, I don't, I don't want to have to talk to him. I know you like her, but I don't really like that guy. I don't want to talk to him. Um, yes, difficult because like, like, you know, like, oh, this guy seems like cool. And then there's something about like though, if I do find like a guy friend that's like a couple friend, hmm, generally like then, then the women have a falling out and you're like, well, can I still hang out with Dave?
Right. Like, can I do that? So the last time you were putting that situation, like you were, like, or not put in that situation, where's the last time where you're a couple months ago trying to be open and like, yeah, let me go to this and see if I meet some new friends or something. Cause I had a, I had a, hmm, well, we got what I said. Yeah, I had a particular guy. They came over and hung out at the house, whatever. And I'm like, oh, maybe this guy will be cool. And just, you know, sometimes people, maybe I was the uncool one. You know, like, well, for one reason, me and this dude did not, we weren't the same kind of guy and it wasn't someone I'd want to hang out with. Um, and I, I told Maryl and I said, I don't really, they don't need to come over again. You know, uh, they heard that. Hopefully, I don't know. It's hard though, because like, other than like, based in a superficial relationship on a sports team, like, what's wrong with that? Why are you being judgey? Because if you ever had, you ever have one of your sports friends and then try to like, like, talk away outside of sports. Yeah. And it's, it's weird and it's awkward.
Oh, no, you see it a whole other side of the wheel. Like, oh my god. I, yeah, I just like you when we're talking about football. They were just talking about football. Yeah. Well, it says guys have, you know, there's a big epidemic right now with guys not having friends. And in this article, it's like, you know, why should women or wives or partners should should, uh, kind of help grow that and let, hey, you know, go up with your buddies more. Mm hmm. Uh, I don't know. I'd have to do this to my wife because my wife, like, like you said, Russ, like, I, I mean, like, I gave you crap, but like my wife is my best friend. I basically hang out with her every day and I like hanging out with her. Yeah. I like when people are like, oh, we just need to make this a guy's day. I'm like, why? My wife's cool as hell. Let's bring her. She makes things better. Right. Um, but I, I don't have, I, I'm very lucky in my relationship. This is what I realized. Like, I've seen my friends with their wives and like, I'm not, not all of them have that. So, I don't know. Dude, we're too busy. Like, we spend a lot of time sizing each other up a lot of times too.
I'm lucky. Like, if I, if I get a good, uh, three, four hours, Russ and Bo time, me and Bo have a good time and I'm good. And like, I'll see you next month or too much from now or whatever. You know, uh, so I don't do it all the time. But I don't have any other guys I hang out with. Like, yeah, I don't know. I have like, I have my guy friends I hang out with, but like, I don't do it that often it's like I do it and like, we say like I like once every two months. Yeah. Like me, Charlie and Sean go get lunch. Once a month, we try for once a month. That's Charlie Booey. How's he doing? He's good. He's going to come in this week. Oh, oh, oh, that's Thursday, bro. I forgot I told Charlie was to come in. What day? You're sorry he's supposed to come in. Oh, I forgot. I'm sorry, Charlie. But I'm a great friend. You're a great friend. I'm a great friend. I know you were talking about fun, but I'm a great, wonderful friend. For God to tell him. I'm a terrible friend, okay? Like I know this about me. I got a name for it. It's called friend, a friend of opolis.
And that's really good because I got friend of opolis because you got friend of opolis. I got friend of opolis and because I got that, I'm going to make for you a bad friend. I can't help it. No, no, no, no. Have I thought? I'm, I'm a man. I'm a man. I'm a,all right. I take a big, big man, the guy's way for the king and Denmark right at home.
