Slash postseason. It's true. It's true. And if anything here. Welcome to the ringer, Billy, special shield, Kapati here. You know, it's not actually football season until you have the first film review of the year. And that's what we've got. Returning for, I don't even remember what year it is. He can probably tell me Sean Syed of Sumer sports is back baby for another season with the ringer's Philly special where he'll be joining us midweek. Every single week breaking down the film. You know, he got a lot of amateur film junkies out there. And that's okay. Everybody's doing their best list. And I was just telling my wife.

We saw Nick Fulz on TV. And I'm like, you know what? When the coaches film first came out and I got so excited to watch it. I was like ripping Nick Fulz Sean, but I was doing the thing where you circled the receivers who are open and a wide and he throw it here. Totally amateur hour stuff where you know, maybe he hates me for that still, but I'm not doing that anymore. We are going advanced with the man who knows what he's talking about who speaks with nuance, who uses words like encouraging even when the Eagle score three points in a given game. What's that? How do you feel? I can't believe it. We're here for year four. What a ride. It's been the week one film is out. I've watched a lot of it. I have a lot of thoughts. I think we have a lot of good conversations today. All right. Fourth year. So that 23 you started with us. 23 was the first game against the Patriots 24 first game against the Packers 25 was that was Super Bowl season as you remember 25 was a Cowboys week one is our fourth week one. And the real contract you know, I don't know. We'll talk. We'll talk. All right. Eagles have made the playoffs in his previous three seasons. They have won a Super Bowl. So it's not like he can't get over the hump. So I think Sean Syed has checked a lot of boxes. Remember, check out his newsletter with our friend Tage Seth, the stats and scheme newsletter. I was just looking at it actually for this very podcast because there's information in there that I actually can't get with all my fancy statistical databases. So check that out.

Check out Sumer sports. They are doing a lot of full stuff in game stuff. Maybe Sean can plug that at the end of the pot. All right. So we're playing around with some formats. You might have noticed this year on the ringer's Philly special. I thought the post game pod with Rich was a lot of fun kind of the way we formatted that bad boy with Sean. We're still playing out playing around with some stuff. But I came up with five questions that I thought were the biggest questions in regards to the film after week one. So maybe we'll stick with the five questions. Four Matt. Maybe we'll change it. Week to week. We'll see. But here's where we're starting Sean because this season is all about the beginning of a new era with Sean Manion, the offensive coordinator in the booth doing fist pumps high five in people who I don't even know who they are. Z Burm can maybe fill us in later in the week who is high five. And what did we learn Sean about the other Sean is going to get confusing. I don't think I realized that until now we got two shots. What did we learn about Sean the Sean Manion offense in week one. And after you talk, I'll fill in with some numbers, some data that I've got and let's see if we're on the same page here.

I think we learned that it was a lot of what we expected kind of like a 2018 version of this Rams offense. It felt like a sprinkling of a lot of things where yes, you want to get under center again to that zone run game. We'll have a little bit of middle of the field throws will have a little bit of play action will also get those kind of quick throws out left and right into the fly. I felt like there was a lot of little things happening. I do think one specific point that I liked was I think you realize quite early on like, okay, landed Dickerson, like you're going to be on IR soon. Let's start running to our right. So you see little things like that where it's like, all right, we're adjusting in game. So I want to say overall encourage I think watching some of the stuff around the league this year or this week. I was like, oh man, like this is some crazy stuff going on. But I think the biggest takeaway was, you know, a lot of what we expect. I think some room to grow for sure. See, I would say that it was less of what I thought I expected personally. So when you say 2018 Rams, Sean, not all of us have an encyclopedic knowledge of what the 2018 Rams did schematically.

So what did what when you say 2018 Rams? Is it just the things you mentioned there kind of zone run game with play action off of it? Is it something different? What are you referring to there? Good follow up there. So it's there is an under center approach where we're running that wide zone. You see a quad back running outside kind of towards that tight end. Now I will say there are a lot of parts of the 2018 Rams that you don't see, which is like the boot off of it. So I mean, everyone knows right? You're faking the run one direction running in the opposite direction. There was more of the kind of packers isch mentality where you get into some of the gun stuff where we're getting the ball out kind of quick left and right. There was quick game. There was some under center drop back. So 2018 Rams, I actually don't think that's the best way to put it. It was more trying to say like it was the kind of like the foundational blocks like it felt like a lot of stuff that you kind of see early on as a team is kind of building up. I know you've done the whole can't you see already like when we think about the end of the season, we're going to be like well, just wait till you're two when you're building off of it. It felt like after week one, well, that is kind of the trajectory where it's like we're putting in building blocks right now. Hopefully you're able to find your identity, find the players and plays that are really, really helping you out in positive ways and kind of going from there.

All right, before I give you the numbers, let me ask you this question. This kind of a setup. It's not meant to be a setup. It's kind of a set up. If you would have dropped this exact game, this exact game plan into the 2025 season, would you have been like, oh my gosh, they're doing something that is just so different than what let's say week 30. This is this is the game they played. This is the approach they took. Would you have come on to the ringers, really special and gone. This is so different than what they've done in the first 12 weeks, would you have said, all right, this looks a lot of like what they've done in the first 12 weeks, would you have said. There are differences here from what they've done in the first 12 weeks, but they didn't totally overhaul their offense. What do you think you would have said if this would have been a Kevin Patulo 2025 Eagles game week 13, but it looked like what we saw in week one. Do you understand the question. I do. I think it's a really good one. You're really helping pull it positive out here. I think if I was just fresh off of watching one of the games of last season, and then I just turned this on immediately after I would have like looked at this.

I didn't know you're allowed to do some of these things in football. That being said, I don't want to put this out as this was this game, changing game plan. There are 75 examples of things that no one in history of football has ever done before. As an Eagles fan, simple things like motion are real hot commodity. Obviously we see the poor vets touched down, but just a way that they're running outside zone that felt like that is quite different. Even even two middle of the field completions, she'll first play under center play action going over the middle of the field. It did feel like, hey, this is a different identity. This is yes, there are some parts of it that are similar to things that Jalen hurts as run, but I feel pretty like this is Sean Mainens offense. If there is a question of that, obviously hurts has a say on it, but I feel comfortable. All right. Well, Manion is able to put his past concepts in his kind of desire in the run game. So I would feel like, yeah, this is quite different, but don't want to say like this is that we're breaking ground here in week one. Yeah, I think we disagree a little bit because I would I would do it. I know I figured we'll talk. Yeah, I know you'll give me examples. I know I know you did the homework. I know I know you've done it. So you'll give example. So let me give you the data. Then you can explain to me why know it. This actually is different.

She'll settle down. Don't just go on WIP tomorrow and tell everyone they're running the 2025 Eagles offense. Let's settle down there. So you're some of the things. I mean, two middle of the field throws really that I mean, that's really what we're hanging our hat on. They were games last year. I mean, 16th percentile in terms of throw them to the middle of the field. That is from the wonderful stats and scheme newsletter. So not a big change there. Now where there are other plays called Sean can tell us here in a minute that, hey, there were other concepts that were actually called to get the ball to the middle of the field more so than last year. The ball just didn't go that. So that's one of them play action, which honestly, I find this a little bit concerning. I'm not going to go alarming after week one, but play action is a cheat code in the year. Sorry, I hate when podcasters say cheat code. Find me. I'm giving $5 a charity after that. If I say of it all after this, then I'm giving $10 to a charity. Okay. Play action is known to be a way to create explosive to create air in the defense. I love when you taught us about air in the defense in the past watching some games this week. I was like, oh, that cowboys defense. They got some air.

In that defense a little bit too much air, but play action is a nice tool to use to help out your quarterback. Only Cooper rush used play action at a lower rate than jail in Hertz in week one. They had, I think, two or three snaps of under center play action, which I thought was going to be, you know, a big up tick in what they do this year. It was not a big up tick in the first game of the season. They had 16 snaps under center. That ranked 27th among 32 teams in the NFL. Sean, do you know where the Eagles ranked in number of under center plays last year in the NFL? I mean, 31st, 27. Now I probably didn't do percentages. I cheated. We were about to record, but in terms of total number of plays under center, they ranked 27th last year and they were 27th in this game. So maybe it's a little bit of an uptick, but it's not a big up tick. Remember all the talk about personnel group and there go this tight end revolution in the NFL. This is a what a tool. It is.

They used more 11 personnel three wide receivers in this game. Then they average last year. They were an 11 personnel 75% of the time in this game. I've got more for you, Sean. Remember our friend, Dana is is Hitch route. Oh, the Hitch routes. We're going to talk. He should just start like a new Twitter account, new Instagram account just hitch whatever Eagles underscore hitch or something. Have it being Will Smith from the movie. Do it every one, but he became the king of the Hitch route research. We're there literally talking on sports talk radio and Philadelphia about Hitch routes because of Dana's is research and per per day is second highest frequency of Hitch routes and week one for any team. The Philadelphia Eagles. I got a couple more for you. Remember last year, the play clock always winding down. I don't go, why are they not snapping the ball until like two on the play clock every single time while we get a little urgency a little tempo. That still happened here in week one. So all these things happen. The one thing we can say there's an uptick and you sent me the data on this.

The use of more motion. This year, that is something maybe if we're looking at all these things, what's actually quite different than last year, the use of pre snap motion and pre snap shifts is very different from last year. Okay. So I just gave you all the numbers. I say, you know, to my not so trained eye as your eyes. I'm not saying it looked exactly the same. I'm saying there are differences. There were not as many differences as I anticipated, even in week one, your bottle. I think we split difference and effectiveness. Like I'm not going to pretend like, hey, this was the most effective offense to me. The differences were like play clock issue last year is like getting the play in late. Like what's going on communication all that stuff to like this tree of offenses is always going to have lower towards the end of the play clock type snapping. You're getting multiple shifts. You're getting multiple motions. You got a longer snap counts. So to me, that is a separate issue. I didn't feel like, oh, these guys are like, hard into the line at the last second and getting a playoff. So that to me is great distinction.

So more of a purpose, more of a reason for why that would be this year than just last year is being frustrated like, why are they doing this this year? You're saying with the stuff that the offense asks of you, you get to the line of scrimmage. You're using shifts. You're using motions. It's going to take a little bit, you know, more time. And you are going to be a little later in the play clock. Okay. Good rebuttal so far. And then in terms of middle of the field throws. Yeah, there weren't 50 middle of the field throws. There were two pretty clear ones that I thought could have happened ended up as a sack and then one was a pressure. We're hurts had to roll out to his right. But even aside from that. Like as a scarred Eagles film watcher going from zero to two feels like a lot. So I'm conscious of my bias. Well, it wasn't always zero. Sean. I mean, they. It was pretty tight. It was pretty tight. It wasn't the best. And in terms of hitchhike out specifically. Okay, there were probably like four or five where I was like, man, like this is a bummer of a play where it did feel like last year. So there are instances of that. I do think that there is still there's like a little bit better spacing within the offense in terms of those plays.

But you're going to have a lot of times like a hitch route where something is going over the top of it. Now that wasn't used all the time. But there were enough times where when I'm looking at it and I'm thinking, okay, well, what's the most likely progression. It did feel like a right to left kind of thing where it wasn't just like a half the field in dead. Again, there were instances of that. But I think about the the Wix touchdown. I'm pretty sure it's Wix right in the end zone where like hurts does get to sweep the entire field and you have those kinds of situations. So I understand. I think I would I did not feel happy about about the performance. This is not the first film that I turned on going into this, particularly because I was like, oh, man, I felt like I'm going to be kind of bummed watching this. But I didn't think there was enough good stuff. And the 11 personnel thing to me. They're now running more condensets like we are moving people around a little bit. So yes, it is 11 personnel like that is a chord. That's really like, oh, 2018 rims. You just run 11 personnel for every single thing. That's kind of what like the easy kind of way to to carry it over is. But like, I mean, the snap of my kind of lemon blocking. Was it the greatest ever? No, he's getting pushed in the back. But it is still different. Like I think if you look at formation with that's going to be a lot tighter or move around Devante Smith a little bit. It is less stagnant. And if we could talk about the four of us touchdown. Sheel, I know that you were watching it and saying, Oh, look.

Look at these outside receivers starting a little bit condensed, getting a little bit vertical and then stemming out. Look at us running new versions of four vertical. So if anything, you know, I would say it is a bigger difference in that first game, for example, for killing more. Or this was a bigger difference than that one where this is like more of a structural difference. That was like, Hey, I have like six new ideas. I'm going to throw in this is like, Hey, we were going to do things differently. That was going to take a few weeks to get effective at it. Hopefully like, Hey, you get the Titans next week and you get the Bears defense next week. Like, if we're in week six and I have to do the whole like, no, trust me, things are different. Then I'll, I'll accept being yelled at. Okay, this is why we love having you on. So these subtleties in some of the stuff like you mentioned, the Dallas got her touchdown four verse, which of course was the play that they all stared at each other in that game against the 40 dinars and settled on. And no one wanted to take responsibility afterwards. They use the same play, but with some subtleties, like Sean said with where the guys were lined up how they ran their routes, even though they are.

It's the same play, but done differently in this time results in a touchdown. So that's a good distinction. There are some of the other distinctions you made. Yeah, I didn't think about the condense sets is definitely a fair one and for those don't know who don't know what he's talking about that just it's exactly what it sounds like, you know, you look at kind of who are your widest wide receivers on either side. And if you think about, hey, take a measuring, you know, take measuring tape and measure from the widest guy on the left to the widest guy on the right. What does that look like if you're in a spread offense, that's going to be very wide with the field is 53 and a third and those guys are going to be way out there. If you're in some of these offenses that we think that Eagles are going to grab stuff from, then you're going to be more condensed there. And that's something I did not check, but I would take your word for it. And it does pass the eye test that yes, it seemed like they were more condensed than they were last year. So okay, I think we've reached a common ground here subtleties. It's changes in some of these subtleties for sure, a sprinkling end of maybe things to come in the future, but they did not come out in week one and just say we're leaning in to a brand new thing that you've never seen before.

And this is because it goes to be fair. I'm not trying to be like hyperbolic. I was expecting it to kind of just look completely different. Like you're not going to recognize any of this. The on it's going to be a huge spike in under center. It's going to be a huge spike in throw into the middle of the field. It's going to be a huge spike in under center, play action and and and to tight and stats and all these other things. So it was not a huge spike. It was baby steps. I think we can say in week one. And I know it's only week one. By the way, can I go on a little rant here, Sean. The it's only week one. It's only one week people out there. What do you want us to do? Not do a pot, you know, you don't want to fall analysis until like December. Do you want us to just let's be better for almost if we didn't. I mean, I would people say that I'm just like, all right. You know, it's like the whole drafting. Oh, you can't grade the draft after the draft. Oh, you can't. Okay. Fine. We'll all just go. We'll go on vacation after the draft. And then we'll come back. We'll tell our employers. We'll be back in three years so that now we can finally analyze it. So we understand the context. Okay.

This is what I like about what I find so fun about this is like six weeks from now. You can laugh at me and be like, she thought this was the offense wasn't that different. And look at what they just did in this game. So it's a snapshot of a moment in time. That is the art of the podcast. And that's what we're doing right here. Okay. Before we get to the next question. I wanted to have a couple follow up here for you. Sean. On the Don Tavian wicks. Bond, right? What was that? A 60 yarder, something like that. On the right side. I'm sure the listeners all remember that play they go under center, play action. I saw our friend EJ Smith say he talked to Don Tavian wicks after the game. And wicks said, he's usually just a clear out route on that play, which for the listeners means you're just trying to take defenders with you. Create space, but the balls not going your way. He said the ball never went my way when we rep that in practice. Now as we remember from the early A J Brown years.

Sometimes Jalen hurts looks at the clear out and says, I'm going to jail. You know, my guys are going to go make a play down there. I feel like chucking it. And he would do that. And it would result in positive place. Now last year Jalen hurts would do that. And AJ Brown might not have been down there. You know, at that point because he thought the ball wasn't coming his way. So give us the I think it's actually an interesting analysis here, especially as we evaluate Sean Manion. Because I don't think Sean Manion deserves a lot of credit for that specific play because I think if they were teaching that in the meeting room, in my opinion, they will probably say the ball should go to Dallas, Goddard, if we get this exact look and this exact coverage, but I might be wrong. So I wanted your take on that play specifically. Well, first we got an under center play action in condensed receiver show. We just talked about how same the offense was. We're already talking about new things. So just want that out there first. So two different ways that this could go where you have the kind of outside receiver going deep in that inside receiver kind of running that more 10 and out type look. One, the insider series running more of a corner out. So he's kind of attacking the safety to start a little bit. You either have that as what you call an alert, which is like only in like a specific situation we're going to take this route or you have it as a true like this is number one kind of on the chalkboard before we go to number two being that tight. So look at like some of the Rams old playbooks, they do have that guy as an actual one, which like to me that is a little bit functionally different where it's like we're telling the quarterback, hey, actually check this out. So that could be one thing.

Difference from last year is that guy is running full speed for most of this route, which like that's just different than what we saw in film last year. So it is a super aggressive decision to me. It's one of those where if your quarterback is making this decision like that. Like you got to hit that like if you do then it's like, we're good. But if not, it's like, hey man, like this guy is wide open in Dallas, God are breaking out. So I like this as an aggressive move from jail and hurts that is something you like to do. I think he wants to be aggressive and push the ball down the field. He sees the safety as flat footed that corner back is pressed. He trusts wicks like what he knows wicks is going to run this down. So I I like it. If it was incomplete, we would say that other guy was wide open. So it's very much a double edge like if you're going to take that shot that that just it has to be caught like we have a situation when we drew something up perfectly to open up a guy. But if you're going to be the decider and say let's go ahead and put our foot on the gas if it's complete shield who were we to say like yeah because it's not even like it's a bad processing really to me because I think you legitimately can make that decision based on how everything moved in that way.

It's just like yeah, it just got to be complete and it was so we get to celebrate. Yeah, it really is it shouldn't always it shouldn't be pro outcome based or result based. It kind of is in this case. You know, like you said, if that's incomplete. We're probably on here saying I'm not asking you. Hey Sean on that play. It looked like Goddard was wide open. Isn't that supposed to be the read for jail and arts and you're probably saying what you said right now that yeah if you're teaching that to a high school quarterback or whatever you're probably saying are the balls ball should go to Dallas Goddard here. But this is why and if a quarterbacks get paid what they do and I personally and I'll be consistent on this all year long and I think I have been consistent on this. I will almost never be against a quarterback hunting and explosive play like that and just saying I think I can make this throw. I think I have a shot. I think my receiver is going to make a play. I think explosives are so valuable and especially in today's NFL where every defense is trying to take them away. If you feel like you have a shot to make that I say go ahead and take it. And so I don't have an issue with it there. But it is kind of you know that that's one where like you said if it's incomplete.

We might be having a different discussion. You mentioned the touchdown to Dallas Goddard the four v. Touchdown that's one that obviously could be in the playbook and was in the playbook in previous years really in every iteration regardless of the coach that that has been in the playbook and has been a play that they called on there you gave us some of the nuance. With that one already some of the other plays that you know again these are plays that certainly could have been in the playbook last year shot inside zone out of shotgun with say gone bark Lee for a 40 plus yard run this dutter go with Devonte Smith on the right side where that's just a one on one and he does a terrific job both with the route and with the catch in the footwork for a 31 yard gains was fair to say those might be plays that would have been in the playbook in previous years. Or even do even those have some subtleties that you wanted to point out there. Think about the Devonte one it's like our will we've used this same kind of motion over and over within this game like this kind of makes sense as a way to approach I kind of mentioned that for

for it's one which was just like a nasty nasty throw like really really beautiful from hurts to be able to make that so I hear what you're saying like they're definitely is a little bit of sameness there the run game specifically that one was something I looked at and was like oh like don't don't love this I think part of it is of course what happened in terms of just injuries up front but then part of it was I like I don't want to say lack of creativity because I'm not sure if I would love though like the Eagles tie ends outside of of course our guide Johnny Mont like we're going to be able to do that. Johnny Mont like working in ways that some of the tight ends across the league look at the Jaguar so look at the bear so like the way that they use tight ends in the run the Ravens specifically as well it opens up so many different things and I just I'm just not sure if I feel like the Eagles have the blockers to do that so that part of it feels like oh like what what do you lean on then I think of the packers like shotgun you can still get creative in your run game type playbook I'd be curious if manual starts to move in that direction to move away from some of the sameness. Okay little chunk out of the little excited there he already jumped to my question number two I think with the run games they this guy's fired up you know he's he's like I got to get to this I'm going to take a break shot I'm going to come back asked you a little bit more about the run game then of course we will switch to the defense there and get to some individual performances as well.

All right we're back here on the ringers billy special now Sean in the off season you moved to northern Virginia we told our listeners that you know some of them have sent me some recommendations for you that I forwarded your way you alerted me and Cliff to a little issue you're having there you haven't quite found the right barber is that accurate there I'm an I'm in dire need she'll I'm I'm I'm struggling it was getting a little bit. Because when we moved and then I was like all right well I'll just like when I go back to like Dallas on a trip I get a haircut and you know eventually you can do that and then you get this mop on your head for a wedding or something and you're like what do I do you cut it to short your credit you think about all right well we have the rest of the season I'm just going to be locked up in your anyway we're not going to be on YouTube then you're the

fully specials going to might be on YouTube eventually well we'll we'll say Sean there might be a little bit of pressure anyone we don't know about you too but there might be a little video element here at some point and listen Cliff's been posted the social media clips as well so yeah there's always a chance you get caught there on Instagram yeah please people help me if you know I'm not a good barber in North of Virginia just a super generic we can we can go to low fade we can keep the undercut we don't have to get too crazy with it help me out. Ring or Philly at gmail.com or you can just tweet a shot try it out for content she'll hold you it yeah man in need I like that recommend a barber for Sean in Northern Virginia there now what's the movie consumption here Sean in season because I don't think you slept in 72 hours posted roughly 43,000 clips of film on various social media would do we still find time online what is it like a Friday maybe a little Friday evening type thing to get to the theater yeah you got to this we got resident evil on Friday saturday got a rerun a blade run or not sure if we'll end up going to that but I mean the movies are there for you you know they're there for you when you want to go when you don't want to go can I tell you one that I know you will like buy tickets the i max months in advance that's going to be me for the

Nathan field or movie I'm gonna I'm gonna be camping out I need to see I need to see the first showing of that I don't know that I've seen a better trailer in a long long time of course that's my guy I mean anything he does I got lifetime season tickets that I will consume any content from Nathan field so I can't wait for that one I think that's coming out in in in middle of October I think October yeah all right the last thing here I actually we I don't think we got your take on this if we did um then remind me but big controversy with the Thursday mailbags after Cliff said he will bring Chipotle into the movie theater now I know you don't get every second of the ringers feeling special but this really sets some people off big debates other people saying we brought in pizza sent me photos of the stuff they brought in your thoughts as somebody who literally loves movies movie theaters more than anyone I know like you are on a Sean Fennacy Amanda

Dobbins level with your love of cinema your thoughts on the idea of bringing in food and maybe specifically Cliff bringing Chipotle to the movie fantastic question so we have we have a few different issues here were one I think you you have to do no harm in this situation but you if you know you're going to a theater that it is a movie where it's like week four week five like I mean a lot of movies don't even unfortunately get that long anymore but if you know like hey I'm in an empty seat and there's three people in the theater shield there's there's kind of no rules they're really can't be right like we unfortunately like you can't be super smelly I don't think that Clistopole order is going to like put it anyone down in that way when I go to see you do like King of Prussia I'm not going to bring something I mean when I was in law school shield I used to where it was I was in Virginia so I would wear a jacket and there's a Jimmy John's right outside and I would go full 12 inch sub in one of the arms of the jacket and I mean I didn't have to do that you could just walk in like as long as if you have to clean up

that's an absolute must if like nothing drives me like more insane than people that like lead the movie theater dirty dirty it's just not that hard it's just really is not hard so that's a separate thing but I am like on the extreme side pretty much here of like you can kind of do it everyone you're fine it can't be smelly it can't be messy if it's a really crowded thing like do I want you to open up eight slices of pizza that's going to take up two seats you know that that one you're going to have to change a little bit Cliff what a win for you here Sean who again goes to the theater more than anyone I know has your back and says just check if it's not if it's a theater that's not packed where you're side to side if it's kind of empty and you can check that now because you have to book your own seat there he says you have the green light to bring in the burrito or the burrito ball you can order so much food at a movie theater like they literally movie there's a making dining theaters like I don't love that experience that you can choose the theater you go to but God you'll have an open heart I love to say yeah number one first of all thank you Sean I already knew you know you have the back number but number two the thing was like my break was is that a lot of movie theater food is trash but some movie

theaters like Sean said has some really like nice quality things but a lot of theaters are still you know regular stadium seating not great quality just some nasty nachos and some nasty beef a glizzy icy and you like me see you say I could I do I do no no no and I love an icy I love an icy but like come on man I need a mill like I need I'm a grown man I'm a grown boy I feel me like I need I need actual protein you feel me I need some carbs in my body I need like a actual meal to fill me up so therefore I appreciate Sean for backing me up on this what a way and not for nothing Chipotle don't even now people want to complain about the smell Chipotle like you're I've all the people like people go to Chipotle every single damn day multiple times a week whatever get load the bowl up to the gills with cheese and sour cream and all types of feelings and now you want to complain about it when you go to the movie theater that's pretty that is the AC circling throughout there and the air is filtered out pretty well in some theaters and some theaters come on bro like let's pick and choose our battles please

if you see the person with food isn't your first thought oh that's a great idea I wish I did that like is no no not if it smells I'm like you're that's true I said I said the smell but did you ever experience this though showed have you ever actually have not no I haven't had an experience where I'm like the other and someone next to me is eating something crazy there okay all right no one's saying the crazy she'll be a sun for burritos kind of crazy for the other but listen cliff got the okay from you so you are the expert I like to defer to the experts and that's a big win for Cliff here in a big spot congratulations not only to the Eagles for their week one win but congratulations to cliff I think that's a big or week one win than even the Eagles all right getting back to the run game Sean you mentioned it so you have it said because this was gonna be my second question what were the biggest issues in the run game struggling because this was a 25th percentile game in terms of rushing success rate for the Philadelphia Eagles and it seems like before the break you mentioned

it sounds like your big concern is that hey they might not have the tight ends to play the specific that they might want to play and so what would the change of speed you're saying move you know the run game might be a little bit more shotgun oriented is what you're saying there so I think there a few parts of it where I don't think the tight ends are like top blocking tight ends in the league which I mean you don't have to construct your roster that way but it gives you different flexibility where hey we're gonna run the same concept over and over but the tight end adds the ability to now we're gonna double team this player or we're gonna change the blocking just a little bit it gives you a lot more flexibility to deal with what a defense is doing to me in this game I felt like the commanders are saying like we like if you're condensed we can put you off the edge we can send five like we're gonna be able to get a free runner at your run you're not running boot the other way to keep us just a little bit honest okay fine like we're just gonna go ahead chase you off the back end so it felt like I guess I'm just not sure is it manion saying hey you know it's weak one for all of us like this is what our starting point this is what we're building on as we continue forward we can see

hey we're gonna build on these different things so I think there is a world yeah like it is and I think this is a manion's goal is like it's still it should be under center like we can have those play action concept off of it it's I'm just I need to see it a little bit more where I think I don't love the tight ends in in like one-on-one situations I don't love the tight ends uh just like moving across the formation it doesn't feel like hey you're always getting that really kind of high end outcome there and then just like what your play action concepts are tied to that so I don't think it has to go back to gun run game and I'm not saying gun run game I'm saying like it is in shotgun but then there's like 15,000 layers that I feel like the packers have done really really well with wide receivers in motion where it feels like hey this wide receiver is now kind of like the running back I think that's like an easy thing to transport onto this unit still though I mean it starts with the offensive line like that I think it's still the number one thing has to be talked about yeah there's no doubt about it I just went through all of Sequan Park these runs and you would just see all right you know cam jurgens holding land and dickerson gets blown up there

will even Lane Johnson's name I wrote down one Sequan Barthly trips on Devante Smith it looked like Sean on the one there to the right side that had a chance maybe to be a bigger play macaie lemon you know it's like you're expecting him all these offenses it's like their wide receivers gotta be you know good blockers and it's not a lack of one two I think with him but you know he had some reps in there where he got blown up Dallas gotter had one where he got blown up there so it was kind of a you know you could really go around the entire offensive line but I think you're right this was not a game where you saw their offensive line really control the line of scrimmage which is a bit concerning because I don't think that's a great Washington defensive line so that's something we just kind of have to keep an eye on land and dickerson of course goes to IR and so we'll see we'll talk to zb later this week about the plan to replace him here for the next month or so I would imagine it would be drew Kendall but we'll see if there's more to it than that so I just

you know Markella Bella guard you know just just think about it for a second it's gonna happen probably not you get the macaie back to him big guy there but but Belkin can move around the left and right pretty well just you know it was it was it was it was hitting the mind a little about they go happy I like that I'm a we've already we've already fit him for the hall of game jacket so you know it makes sense get him on the field he's definitely going to the hall of fame probably is a tackle though so that you know this might just be the start of his story you know all pro guard as a rookie but then you know developed into an all pro tackle there so yeah I was a lot of different things there with the offensive line did not look great with the running game I did think sake on barkley though Sean looked pretty incredible in this game we you know we you get it's not like it's the craziest box score you've ever seen and it was one long run but just his kind of movement um he looked like kind of as fresh and as athletic and as elusive as ever in my opinion yeah there's the one snap where there's a guy that's like literally like hits him like five or six yards in the backfield and he can kind of spin out of that so to me it's not like

a oh man the running back has no vision of the running back can't do it there's like the one run to the right side where monten really hooks the edge and sake one has he ends up with a good run way it's not like a huge game but yeah when I look at it I don't think anyone saying man sake on barkley is just like he's totally busted and he's not going to be able to kind of do anything here I think you can point to a few different other issues and then I start to think like like what are the like is it woolly lampkin at your as you're moved tight end like I know friend of you would he would fall out of his chair if you got to just see some of that so um I'm interested she'll uh I don't I don't want to use the e-wear to as like super encouraging terms of the run game but I'll keep an open mind for sure let's say let's see what it looks like in week two you know this the first time you get to see what you think it's gonna look like um against the real opponent and now you make adjustments and you see what it looks like in the second in the second week there are so that was my second question what was up with the run game it was a lot of different things there are a question number three Sean what individual performances on offense have our attention

and let's lead with jail in her 53rd percentile game based on e-paper pass play 22nd percentile game based on success rate as I said in the post game pod that means you're hitting on explosives you're not turning the ball over but on a down to down basis is it the prettiest passing game I would say no it was not I would just say flat out it was hard to watch at times on film you're looking at it going man this just feels very disjointed this feels like some stuff we saw last year this feels like some previous years here so there is a lot to improve on uh but I personally do not put that stuff on jail in her I thought he hit on you know he hunted explosives which I thought was smart he didn't turn the football over um and I don't really think there were a lot of negative plays for jail and hurts this game it was more of what was happening around him what how would you kind of assess this game for jail and hurts I I think this is like kind of big encouraged on on jail and just always surprised by so when we get that clip in the offseason of like the

interception that everyone just sends back and forth in the training camp the first like the only thing I want to look at was like okay it's hard to look on time in that clip and that's really what I wanted to see early in this game and I felt like he was relatively in rhythm like you know you hit that melody field throw it feels like hey you're on time you get a bunch of quick game going hey you're you're on time on those throws and the throws that I think that weren't there ended up being because of some sort of pressure some sort of bailout and he was super fluid as a scrambled like that that is that was really really nice to see same as week one last year hopefully we're able to continue that going down the season there was probably one or two plays where I was like man like it didn't love that would have liked that to go in a different way but I think that if I was to point at the two of many versus hurts to one I would feel like like big alarm bells like what's going on this is a problem like if hurts felt just like totally out of whack like didn't buy in feet not on time eyes on the right place I would I would be looking to get out of this this year for with you but I didn't feel that I felt like pretty good actually about some of the things yes you're not sending this this like performance of the Hall of Fame by

any means but part of it is like well we had no idea like what you're gonna look like in this kind of offense so to start game one with some of those kind of encouraging steps I I I'm in do I want to say I felt pretty good about it she'll I think maybe I'm talking to myself into it it was kind of vintage jalen hurts where he has made this might be his superpower which is what is it going to take to win this game what do I need to do at this very moment to win the game and it's it's thrown out the box score and the numbers and everything else it's what do I need to do right now oh it's third and 18 there's nothing there I need to scramble for 22 yards I need to make sure I have nice touch on this deep ball to Davante Smith down the right side line it's that you know the touchdown to Dallas got it the the the four virtuine where Sean correct me if I'm wrong but that's one of those for disguise can really get a defense into trouble where the safety is up at the line of scrimmage and then falling back and I think it was like a Tampa two there where he's

got to get back there and I don't think he's aligned in a great spot we're now that that ball that that opening is there for Dallas got it so I think that's one that the commanders would probably want to have back to rante Jones it's like it's third and goal from the 17 man you don't need to dial up some exotic disguise here just have that guy sit back there in zone coverage it has his eyes on the receiver but hurts notices that and let's it rip there rather than you know check or something else like that so yeah I thought a lot of good things here from jalen hurts even at the final numbers maybe don't show it yeah I think this like this is something where it's like all right we can build on this like this is this is a starting point where again if you started in like the 30th percentile of like whoa like your your eyes are in the wrong spot like what is going on hold the ball hold the ball hold the ball of course you did have situations in this game that those are the ones that got me kind of bummed where it's like oh there are a little hitch rowdy here in this situation like I don't really feel like great about any of these receivers winning one on one of this type situation like I don't personally put that on parts all the time but you know again it felt like I was probably pretty pretty guarded and cautious about what it would

look like and I think that maybe informs why I feel like okay look let's get going forward with this what about the gotter I don't think we've talked about this one the gotter 43 yarder or whatever it was where he's kind of little shift there little motion and then it's just wide open what what happened there do you think like what is that one where we say hey Sean Manion did a nice job here is that just the defense is confused and they're all standing still pointing saying that's a fall star and it's like no it's not a fall star and then Dallas got her just ends up getting behind them where did you make of of that play because that obviously was another big explosive in the game there is a little bit of like oh like sunny styles everyone is pointing at gotter like what the heck is going on what's going on here and they end up late and then it's also just like I mean I just cannot believe that this ended up in a touchdown where like how are you able to kind of have that going through to me I'm not going to put that and say like hey this is this is an incredibly scheme fast now you could argue she'll middle of the field you catch that fall right by the hash that's a nice one to have on the ledger so to me that I want the ones you were describing your cut

you what would you always say the route comes into the quarterbacks vision where the player is then just kind of running horizontally catches the ball we see it we saw it throughout the NFL in week one we do not necessarily see it with the Eagles but sorry go ahead we'll get across we'll get we'll get a singular crossing route at some point just I know you feel about this I don't know how much you hear like the the coaches always put out like oh unscouted looks unscouted looks unscouted looks and I will okay fine drawn to Jones like yes this is his first time calling the defense you can project some things and look at some preseason film they got some base stuff like there are a lot of offenses across the league that have to go up against a defense where they don't know what the events of play callers going to do again they just like shred them regardless of of talent and different things so I think sometimes I feel a little bit less convinced by that specific point but yeah on this play it didn't feel like it's weak excuse making to your uh point it's it's my old adage this is what the money's for yes I'm sorry they're not going to show you exactly what they're going to do when they're competing against you and trying to win the game you're going to have to see some things that maybe they didn't show on film it's the freaking

NFL and you're getting paid millions of dollars so give me a miss me as the kids say with the unscouted luck so the reason why we struggle and that's I don't even know I don't even know who said that on the Eagles if anyone said that whoever's saying that around the NFL give me a break with your excuse me all right continue to shine yeah the one part though of unscouted looks in the run game that is one time where I'm like oh okay fine like because like you saw it actually sometimes in this run game where it's like guys coming from a different level where like this is game one of you doing this that that's a different thing but yeah the Goddard touchdown like we're getting guys falling over each other like that's just that's a high end outcome I think a little bit above what you'd expect it but still an example of hurts you know you get your hand out to the right snack that snack you're comfortable in the pocket you're able to deliver that throw on time so that was Goddard our guy a guy Dallas got it again touchdowns each in the run game too but all right other stuff but to finish up here with the offense Sean offensive line did not look good on film to me if you are you know Andy Greenwald's theory of let's start up Cooper University I don't that did not get off

to a great start here in a week one in my opinion I thought there were miscommunications I thought there were errors I thought there were misdessignments both in the run game in the past game stuff like passing off stunts that got them a couple times and so I don't think it was a great start for the offensive line we mentioned the land in Dickerson injury that's one just give I'll give you the wide receiver snap counts and then you can tell me if there's anything else with the offense individual performances or anything else you wanted to mention but wide receiver snap counts Devante Smith 50 Donnie candles you on board with that absolutely I was I was I was raised through all I loved it when I thought when I heard you to say it to to Richard on the post game five Ray reviews for Donnie candles and listen the person who actually came up with that message me I'm gonna say that I'm gonna save that for the post game pod but that person sent me a nice message but yeah Donnie candles universally accepted make sure you're using that in all of your group chats

McCoy lemon 35 snaps so he plays less than Donnie candles Darius Cooper with eight snaps so that's the wide receivers tight ends Dallas got her 50 Johnny mon 18 EJ Jenkins one and then this one's kind of surprising I don't know if people have talked about this yet but Sequan had 37 Sean will ship Lee with 10 tank big speed with six ship Lee out snaps tank big speed which is a little bit surprising there anything have your attention with the rest of the offense or should we move on to the defense I mean free my guy tank I'd have to look back and see how many of those are they those like third and past situations where ship Lee ends up in there I do think for the offensive line this is one that I think we'll look back at multiple times this season and look at and say hey is this a situation where it is for my player to player level is it a coaching thing is it like you guys are constantly just like you are not prepared for the looks that even the unscouted looks that you're gonna be able to see so and then for Lennon Dickerson I mean he should never

have to pay for him in the city of Philadelphia that's his life like I felt so bad I'm kind of almost glad that he was able to just like comfortably say I like I am gonna go to IR I'm sure that was really hard for him either way and that lets us not have to spend too much time talking about how we played on the field yeah for those who missed it he was on WIP and he basically said I was a liability out there I suffered an injury in a few weeks ago tried to play through it but obviously was not myself and I can't you know be out there if I'm playing like that so took full accountability and now we just kind of wait and see what what does it look like for him the rest of the season and the rest of his career here but he's gonna certainly be out for a little bit I did write down there was a big B my splits pick up for bigs beyond one on another one I think it was him and Lane to Dickerson were not on the same page there and then Barkley of course got lit up on the by sunny styles on the one let's see a gap under center shale I know you love it what's

the interior well that was actually be a gap but you got to send send guys through the middle is that a thing I mean I absolutely think it's a thing like if teams are gonna get under center the running back has to step to his right or is left to get into past protection the offensive line wants to block the big bodies in front of them send a lineback from a second level you know I put to get a little video for it I think goes on Sunday night yeah I think that's I mean that I can't keep up with all these x's and those videos I mean it's too I don't know if it's over or any more against my now yeah but I was that's that's specifically is something you should look for for the Eagles because across the teams that are trying like oh we're gonna start doing this under center stuff like you're doing something new this is a way to attack it and if you're facing other teams that are doing it go ahead and do the same thing so that's something that uh yeah let's go ahead and monitor that across the league this season I like that see here this is customized for me I'm like I don't need to watch these videos I'm just gonna talk actually talk to you like an hour and a once a week on video and I can ask him any questions I have that way so that that is an interesting thing to to monitor there with how teams could attack these teams that think they're gonna go

under center more art I got two more questions for you Sean number four what worked for the Vic Uncle's defense for most of the game and then what changed on the last two drives when the commanders nearly tied it up there at the end what do you got chill we got we got the we're in the presence of dominant cornerbacks is what we are and and it is it is a pleasure to to see uh recoil and and Quinnon Mitchell being able to work out there the I think it was a really good game for both of them we're able to see different things in terms of we don't have to do the thing last year where Quinnon's gonna play to the tight side now we have someone else on the week side we don't have to like make up for other people you don't always have to have a safety helping over a cornerback good yield comfortable when the ball is thrown in the air on a deep pass that recoil and is probably gonna make a play and probably gonna celebrate pretty big about it so that was really nice thing back to last year there was some vertical completions from the commander so I thought that was a really big deal he'd really cool and was awesome I'm with you I was like good that one for some reason watching live it didn't strike me it probably should have because it was like he's not getting picked on but sometimes you forget about the corners and he he did get thrown

a few times I mean that deep ball early on what a rep on that one I mean he would he was fantastic in this game so yeah you're absolutely right Quinnon Mitchell gives up the one catch towards the end on the crosser which is just kind of a tough route to cover I think from where he was and then reek wool and and apps on the touchdown that's a miscommunication but man the the beginning of the I feel like I should give a thumbs up or a thumbs down to reek woolen every game because we think it's gonna be a little bit of a roller coaster week one huge thumbs up for reek wool and I'm with you there I'm glad you called that out yeah I'm psyched for for that one to hopefully continue and yeah they spent a little bit of a roller coaster for for maybe the sea hawk so hopefully continue to get highs there I do think that the defensive line this one was kind of interesting to me she'll wear it felt like hey you're winning in some spots it felt like a little bit of it is you know Jane dan is playing quarterbacks so we're gonna rush with a little bit of a different mentality they didn't finish like nearly in the way that I think you'd want like they don't I think have right now a we are shutting off the lights with this pastor like this game is

ending because of our four guys up front it didn't feel like they had that the commanders right guard Sam Cosmett thought he had an awesome game so that like there is certainly that part of it so there's a little bit of that and then I think we can talk about kupu de jinn as well so you'll let up an explosive play here or there yeah this game should not have been this close overall I think not enough things happen for me to be like all right well we're gonna unseat this because we had questions about the past rush coming into the season anyway and uh yeah I mean Jalen Carter only has to play Sam Cosmett like one more time this season yeah the coverage was great for most of the game um the last two drives there I'm with you when the past rush was not a factor and jaden daniel is kind of comfortable back there that's when he started completing passes and uh you know jihad Campbell had won a third and 14 I think that they pointed out on the broadcast that he needs to carry carry the crosser there kupu de jinn at a tough game I thought I was writing his name down a lot Stefan digs got the better of him now vick vanzio did say

that de jinn got dinged up I don't know if that was during the game or if that was something he went into the game with but this was not a uh a traditional kupu de jinn game kwin yan met you the only catch he really gives up is on those last two drives um de jinn again not only the touchdown today but there was a 17 yard completion that he gave up uh and then the touchdown with woollen in app so I think that was the difference the last two drives is that daniel's got a little bit more comfortable they felt that sense of urgency that we got a hunt hunt some plays here and some of those coverage misses there on the last two that maybe weren't necessarily there consistently earlier in the game but I think you're right to call out the past fresh vanzio actually you know said the same thing in his press conference today where he flat out said the past rush was not good enough in this game and I think that that's backed up by the film and the numbers can be deceiving because if you look at stuff like pressure rate it's like oh they had a great pressure rate I think that pressure rate was really the coverage being very good and then jayden daniel's being like

I have nowhere to go with the ball now i'm gonna you know try to scramble a little bit and throw the ball away i mean i think he had about five six throwways in this game and i think for the most part those were more due to the coverage uh then the past rush there so that was one thing and then the last question for you was individual defensive performances that have our attention after this game we mentioned a gene i mean just to give you the full notes gives up a 15 yard completion to digs turned around for a 16 yard completion loses to digs on the touchdown and gives up a 17 yard completion so you know three completions of 15 plus yards plus a touchdown we've watched enough of Cooper to gene to know that that typically does not happen it could have been one bad game the injury though i think is something to at least keep an eye on uh if this is something that might affect him here in future weeks as well yeah i mean dejena's i was thinking about it i i like a commander's radio hit this morning and i was like dejena's like kind of one of my favorite players in the NFL because of what he helps like unlock for this defense so i would agree

it was it was a it was just a bad game for him i think he'd say that himself he does have really tough coverage assignment so there is part of it where it's like hey you're not just losing in like these really simple ways like at least the offense is is putting you kind of in a tough spot at the same time like we are like asking you a lot and that allows us to you know take food off of the play from others or maybe not the best now do you be like other people have less have to do less because you have to do such a hard job so if he is constantly dinged up like i want to see what Ben Johnson does like when Ben Johnson i think he'll probably try and get guys matched up on the second safety but he is going to show us very cleanly what the world thinks of this defense like this is the specific player that we're gonna attack over and over he's gonna do that if dejena's injured and that's the player that a team is comfortable attacking that is you know certainly kind of worry some uh some other guys i i think the ojomaniacs i think i think we had a good day uh oh nice game yeah i think that uh my past rush feelings shield they're so back and forth because there were a few plays where even in the run game where like individual player get off looked it looked just like

fantastic it's like oh you're you're pushing the guard back like a yard and a half before anyone else has even moved so you do have those examples where you know i think you feel good about that but ojimo certainly was one davis had a nice play in the run game earlier on we i know we mentioned Zach bond where he's definitely a player where it's just oh yeah i already gave him his flowers at the post game pot but yeah i forgot about that he was just as incredible on film as he was watching life i mean what a game for bond yeah he's like reminding me there was a three-page police play stretch of our guy in the kobi dean where it's just like oh man one after the other after the other he was making plays with bond there's sometimes where if you're in like the open field running towards the sideline i feel like oh a really shifty guy can get him but it's like you know jane daniel's like you got some like literally the fastest quarterback that like one of the fastest in our league but i still feel like bond is moving well he absolutely has the mind for the game i'm bum that we didn't get like an entire ten year career if him playing linebacker it it's quite a pleasure even his interception on the side but it's like man you're not supposed to be able to do that like you're not supposed to be able to carry that whole entire way where uh you

mentioned that the Campbell example maybe that's one where you can argue back and forth like is that one where you're dropping to a spot but hopefully that you know Campbell's able to see that stuff from bond and you able to kind of continue to work together i thought there were some run steps to with Campbell where you know he missed a couple tackles uh in there or couldn't get off a block but he also had some very nice reps against the run as well because it wasn't a dominant performance for the Eagles uh against the run in this game it was a little bit more up and down and listen you're supposed to be the positive guy with bond don't don't wish for the 10 if this would happen 10 years imagine Sean if you would have signed somewhere else and like never got this opportunity i mean there's got to be like players throughout NFL history who are looking at it going man you know i didn't get a shot where i was drafted and where they misused me and then i signed with the wrong team look at Zack Bond okay it really is unusual though to your point to have this kind of resurgence at that stage of your career and the way it played out

and just what a player what a player Zack Bond what a start to the season uh some of the numbers you mentioned the past rush it's like you go back and forth a little bit Jelix Hunt led the team with seven pressures no one Smith had six in this game ojimo had four Carter had three now to the point i said earlier where these just clean wins off the ball and it's like they're wow they're crushing the commanders no because quick pressures Jelix Hunt had two Bond had one ojimo had one and jihad Campbell on a blitz had one those were only three quick pressures all game from your defensive lineman so again these were more due to coverage than due to the defensive line winning up front Bond led the team with seven run stops that's you know any play where it's a negative EPA play for the offense and you have a tackle uh k jihad Campbell had six so again he was active he just had some where he got taken advantage of a little bit jordan davis still a very

good run defender had five run stops in this game and ojimo had three Carter none of these stats are you know amazing he definitely had moments where he was a punch out a punch out of sick disruptive making a little bit of an impact uh for game one so it's not like he didn't show up there on film at all uh snap counts for you Sean jelix hunt 52 Nolan Smith 45 eva Katie 27 and epa nessa 10 vick vijosell setters press conference that epa nessa was dealing with a little bit of an injury so that's why eva Katie got so many more snaps than he did defensive lineman jelin Carter plays 63 snaps in this game Sean 60 out of it wasn't like 60 80 75 yeah yeah I mean oh man he was tired on the last drive for sure did you see vick vijose quote about this shot is it like the guys that practice are good there's no tell me he said um so he was asked about kind

of rotating guys um and you know because they're not playing in the preseason and the question was how does it change the execution of the guys when you're still feeling things out and you're still feeling them I think it just had to do with the D line rotation and like are these guys ready for a full workload right away and vick vijose heard the transcript said well they should be in shape if they're not that's an indictment of our training staff and strength staff don't mind the mask right under the mask oh my god he also there was something about they're asking about I think green art and he was like oh we've got to bring the training staff guy in here vick the way you wanted the doctor yeah oh man what a guy yeah who he was calling for I think he said the vice president he called for the vice president of sports medicine and the head athletic trainer he said we need to get Tom up here to do one of these when they asked about green art and whether I don't think vick was too happy with the defensive

performance based on the way it looks I will say across the league think about like I mean yeah the Texans played the bills like a bunch of these top defenses they had they had they had quite rough games there were a few you know communication issues here and there I think but yeah I think okay need a good hard back though I mean this was overall a 60th percentile game based on e-paper drive 73rd percentile based on success rates and it's an above average defensive game league wide by any metric it just maybe wasn't a dominant didn't feel defensive game here for the Eagles only other thing Michael Carter played six now I'm not sure if Epska hurt a bit on the play where he like he had like a really nice tackle for a loss like we've seen trancey garnered Johnson do that a bunch that was a nice play to see I'm not my assumption was oh maybe just get dinged up there but I'm at the party man zone roughly the same as last years averages I did notice Sean to your point with the corners little up tick in single high coverages in this game when I was looking at the charting numbers little more cover three fair amount of cover one that maybe

you're feeling a little more comfortable playing with those corners on the outside I don't know if that's something you that caught your attention during the game or not it wasn't anything crazy but certainly a little bit up tick based on their averages from last year yeah I think it's a little yeah comfort and those guys overall like you don't always have to play cover two to one side to kind of help out that second corner I was thinking about if the Eagles defense played the Eagles offense like how much man coverage would pick play on their condensed so it's a little bit different but I think Vic would look at the receivers and be like you guys aren't going to create a whole lot of separation on us that that was something I was thinking about as we're continuing along there I was thinking that too because the commanders didn't play a lot of man coverage but there was a snapper Leon on third down where they like just blanket it on and I'm like what was that yeah not we want yeah I couldn't remember during the game I'm like oh is there are they going to be a lot of staff some man coverage here because man there's nobody open here on this third down and then they just didn't play a lot of man coverage the rest of the game there but I'm with you

Devonti Smith had a couple reps like one of them he just got shoved into Dallas Goddard that was early on in like press coverage and then another one he got shoved out of balance within that five five yard area there so that caught my attention a little bit that you know certain team certain corners maybe try try to get physical with him and really disrupt him within the first five yards there of the line of scrimmage legally of course but yeah the man let's pocket the man covers I think that's interesting if they get to a team that has good corners you know are they going to be able to uncover is Sean Manion going to be able to come up with ways to scheme them open against man coverage I feel like at some point this season we could be having that conversation again even though the commanders didn't play a lot of man coverage in this game all right Sean how you feeling how do we do do you like the format five questions I know you were kind of jumping ahead a little bit it felt like this was you know as our friend Tage said we can't say it's

week one for everyone anymore because it's not we're now into it was week one for us what do you want him out okay I thought I know I feel a little energy at the start there she'll I'm not sure yeah little had to get started but I you know we'll watch the tape feel good going into week two I thought you did a good job I tell you what you know we love our jobs these are very easy jobs compared to pretty much anybody who's listening to this the one a.m. nights back to back for a man in his 40s that takes a little getting used to yeah I'm just like I'm waking up with the headache today you know that's just how it's gonna be I'm gonna have some coffee I'm gonna hydrate cliff I didn't really get the steps in today you know I'm afraid to look at that counter maybe oh man maybe jump on the treadmill watch a little fillies here before I take a shower you and uncle Vic both and go to bed yeah I'm sure you know Vic uncle's not happy with that I see cliffs oh this got I can't see 11000 I'm not sure I've got 11000 this month based on the on the games good 11000 I think I'm at about half that today I walked to get a coffee earlier I heard it

was a beautiful day and fit in fill it off you today so I got that for about 20 minutes otherwise been locked in here but you know what it's okay we have you also got a factor in the watch is do get kind of wild with with the stuff count so I take it off a part of your day too and I'll still like do some stuff you're you're adjusting your own score you got to have to because it feels sometimes I think it's accurate cliff I think it's somewhat accurate but I feel like this is this is pretty well research technology I feel like no a watch you think a watch is that accuracy take he takes it off because he's the pedometer accurate I think it's somewhat count here no I got to be somewhat it got to be someone else so I take it off for a part of the day and like I'll do some stuff how do you know we have some that's worked on this technology more steps than it's it's County it's head out one more time show I'm sorry how do you know it's not screwing up the other way where you actually have more steps than it's County yeah I'm actually not sure I just I'm just looking for accurate count I just kind of did the research on the watches before I bought it and they sure I bought a watch that was that had a lot of great reviews a lot you're pretty accurate

right okay but then even then I'm still like okay maybe this is a little bit like sometimes I feel like I'm not doing that but I but like I know I am though like I know I'm like getting relatively close to the number you know you know what I don't like Cliff if you're on the if you're on the treadmill with the watch yeah and the distance that the treadmills telling you you walk is always different than the watches telling you it is it is it is it's like drastic so you get the difference in it's like five miles I'm like right right difference there who which is you guys it is because the treadmill is probably tracking it off the belt and what the watch is probably tracking it off like yeah like your body movement so I'm still not really like relatively aligned something a vote for the watch I think the watch is probably more accurate in essence now or watch I just because I feel like the watch like it detects the way that you move your arms and a body movement know that a little bit better than what a treadmill would I think your treadmill just goes by belt and assumes people have the same stride you know what I'm saying yeah that's true you're right yeah all right if there's an official what do we call this biomechanics

is that what this is I don't even know if that's what this is whatever if you're an expert in that field and want to be the official biomechanics expert of the ringer's fairly special you can email us at ringer filly at gmail dot com arch on what what are you plugging before you say goodbye always plug in the Twitter at side teams I think unfortunately that for the folks that one stuff in other places that that's the company priority in terms of where to get I've also okay so our company it's you go to super sports.com the code is welcome 15 it's 15% off it's like it's a full data suite I think the coolest thing is during live games and we'll give you like free ones on like Thursday night you'll get a free game love free trials coming up soon you get live charting data so you can see what the coverage is was there a blitz and then on the right side of it you get all the data overall where it's like oh and you know after how many stamps how much love and personal that they use or how are they like a certain run concept doing so I really enjoy it I get a lot out of it and then there's like the general kind of data stuff a big thing there

is like we've made sure like everything comes in within two hours after a game closes so we're trying to just push the overall window up for everyone where it's like we don't have to wait until Tuesday to get data we don't have to wait till till Monday it's no like really really close to a game to get that out there I think it's been pretty good so far I've been able to use it uh no stress you know just just check it out let me know what you think it's great the live product is really unbelievable there's nothing else like that out there is a truly a differentiated product in the market so go give Sean the Philly special bump and if you do if you sign up maybe a tweet at sumer spores maybe hit him on Instagram you know that hey I just signed up because of Sean's and then a little hashtag Philly special bump so that they know maybe in the future you know they're giving our audience a 25% off instead of the 15th percent off we get we get we get from the higher after an eagle's win we get to 50 maybe let's say maybe maybe when the eagles are on national tv Sean or something we we talked to you know some of the higher ups there at sumer I don't know if
