The following podcast is a deer media production. Hi, I'm Dr. Wilcole. Wellness is a sacred art and you are the masterpiece. This is the art of being well. What's up and welcome to the art of being well. My friends, in addition to the podcast, I put out at least one new article a week with just diverse different topics within the health space. Things that we help tell our health patients with typically whether we cut health, auto immunity, nervous system regulation, mold, chronic line, histamine intolerance, different types of foods and activities and the exact protocol that I've seen worked the best for tell our patients to work well. And I cite everything as far as the studies are concerned as you can see the context and nuance of what we're talking about.
We're constantly updating past articles. We've 16 plus years worth of content on there. So you have the latest health information for you to empower yourselves. My goal in heart is to make functional medicine and health and healing more democratize, more accessible, more affordable for people around the world. And this stuff is completely free. Obviously the pod is free or you're learning from the best in the health space. And all the information we have a doctoral code com is free as well. You can also head to the shop there, use code aobw for a special discount for the art of being well supplement in line longevity or acts, all the different specific protocols that we use for telehealth patients are there. Dr. Rolkole.com as well. And guys heal yourselves. My fifth book is out now in the world. What a blessing. Long time coming. It's the latest science on cellular longevity. One in five people over the age of 50 have one organ aging more rapidly than others.
And it's even worse for people in their 20s, 30s and 40s. Specifically millennials are aging more rapidly than people born in 1965 according to the study published just in nature this past summer. And that's why 38% of preteens, you know, you look at Gen Z and Gen Alpha, 38% of preteens are pre diabetic. Girls are getting a period younger and younger type two diabetes used to be called adult onset diabetes. Now 38% of preteens are pre diabetic guys just because something's common doesn't make it normal. It's these type of topics and so much more this accelerated cellular aging phenomenon we're seeing today. So many younger people have senior citizen cells and they don't even know it, which is why younger people are getting cancers as well. Autamine problems. So Dr. Josh Aksan, I'm my friend and colleague wrote heal yourselves together. It's now finally out with the specific protocols we've seen work the best. There's even a pilot study that we talk about in the book that we did on our telehealth patients.
And we talk about peptides stem cells exosomes someone's spiritual faith walk and how that impacts. Cellular health so much groundbreaking stuff. I am really excited for you all to read heal yourselves. You can learn more about that and everything else that I just talked about at doctor will cold calm as dr w i l l c o l e dot com. All right, let's get to the days. Guess shall we. She is a legend. She's a night gone. She doesn't need an introduction, but I'll give her one nonetheless. Her name is Miranda Kerr worldwide. Everyone knows her supermodel legend founder of core organics. He returns to the podcast. She gives us practical tools of how to stay present when you have a busy life. And she also talks about the health scare that changed everything for her in her family and how it sparked so much of her own health journey, which she talks about consciousness. We talk about the origins of core organics, her supermodeling career, what that was like and the truth behind this breakfast that was very controversial that she talked about on a podcast and she sets the record straight.
She talks about leech therapy experiment. We talked about this one book that changed the way she sees the world. This is a diverse conversation. You're going to enjoy it. I know as much as I did. Let's get right to it. This is Miranda Kerr's art of being well. Miranda Kerr, welcome back, baby. Thank you. Thanks for having me. Oh my goodness. The pleasure is all mine. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to hang out with me. Yeah, busy life with the four boys. Yes. So you were yesterday, we were a weekend when we were recording this. You were in the throes of motherhood. I was like, I'm sorry. I can't take you back right now. I've got four kids, we're just having family day because I think it's so important to be present as a parent and as a person. And so just to be able to put the phone away and be like, hey, I'm just going to be with you. And I think that's really what my kids connect with. Obviously, I mean, all people do.
Well, and look, my kids, we were talking, you know, my kids are a little bit older. My daughter is around the same age as your oldest son, but I have a lot of regrets because I wasn't as present as I should have been. And it's deep wisdom to be your kids because it's so easy to not be right to easy to be distracted and numb. It's, I love it because you don't, your, our culture tells us, okay, we have to get back. We have to be on our phones. We have, no, especially the weekends. It should be something sacred. Especially on Sunday, you know, we, we really prioritize Sunday's family day. And we spend that time together. We play like fun little games together. We go to church together. We have brunch together. I love that. Any tips for people, I guess since we're talking about it because it is a human problem today, distraction and numbing, right? It's the constant pool. So your phones are being hyper scheduled. How do you create those sacred spaces of presence?
I think it just, it takes a lot of effort in a way that you carve out time in your schedule for us, what really works for my husband and I Sunday that we prioritize as family day. And we spend that time together. We have these little rituals that we do. Like, you know, having family brunch, going to church, having connection time after like, you know, we play Uno or we play rumicub. Do you say rumicub? We're rumicub. I don't know how you say it, but we are a big. I don't know what's for me. I don't know what we love to play like games. I love it. What's the what's the board game of choice right now with the kids? Oh, monopoly deal is a big one. Okay. Cause they can all play it except for obviously not the baby. Yeah. But when the baby's napping, we get, you know, some of these games out. Yeah, and then family walks together. I just feel like, and I think probably because I have that gap where my eldest son is 15, the next, my next child hot is eight.
I really noticed how quickly the time went from Flynn, being a baby to like 15. So now that I have like an eight year old, six year old and two and a half year old, I'm really kind of hyper aware of how quickly everything goes. I mean, I've always been present with Flynn and connected with Flynn as my first son. And we've had so many incredible moments together. And I've really tried to be present my whole life, especially because personally for me growing up, my mom, who I had. And love and she didn't have the opportunity to be as present with me because she had to work. So she had to physically be away from me. But then when she was with me, it was a lot of fun. And I have so many fond memories with her. But so I feel privileged that, you know, I'm able to work from home. I'm able to be there for the school. Things that come up for the kids.
You know, I feel like I, that's right. What I prioritize and I feel really blessed that I'm able to do that. Yeah. And still run my business. Yeah. But I really do prioritize family and I prioritize our health. Those are my kind of big focuses. Yeah. Yeah. Because I feel like if if you're not feeling well, then how can you be the best version of yourself for your family, for your work, for your friends. And so that's why I've always been kind of focused on health and yeah. Well, it's like, especially when you I have this, this frame, you know, one of those, you can upload the photos to the frame and you see pictures. And it's crazy to see all those photos from your phone. You can see on this frame and how quickly time goes by. And it's like, please shave the front of our eyes. And I think that the days are long, but the years are short, right? It's like, wow, my baby is like huge.
I know I, I think to yesterday, like the Flynn was like two and a half kind of like the same ages. My littlest one is now. And I'm like, wow, that went by so fast. And that was around the time he met Evan when he was two and a half. And I'm just like, wow. I guess like what the fruit is when you have to end who the imposter is. Like, can you give like clues like say if it was Apple, like, I would say like crunchy, right?
But if you're in the imposter, you have to pretend like you're not the imposter. And so it's really funny. So like playing that with my teenager and, you know, my eight year old and six year old is like really funny. Yeah, it's something they all can play. It's fun. And then it's like, and then you can tell like they get the giggles when they like know that they're got that we're like you are the imposter. I'm not. Who's the best like undercover like they can hide at the best the best poker face probably Flynn. Yeah. Although I can see through it. I can see through all of my children. I can tell something in their eye. Yeah. And I'm I mean, I'm not very good at pretending. As soon as I get the imposter card, my son Flynn will be like, you're the imposter. I can see it on your face. I mean, I'm just trying to play cool. My daughter, my family played the other day. Pick it to ride. Oh, yeah. We love that game.
Yeah. Yeah. You know, it states then build the trains across. Okay. Yeah. Take it to ride. Am I doing that? Am I thinking, is that the right one where you get the little you get the little cars? And you can put the people in there. The pink and the blue. Oh, I don't know. Or that might be a ticket of life. Game of life. I think. Okay. Take it. Right. Check out tickets. Right. Because it's something the all ages can play. And my daughter is a board game of Fishing Auto. She's and another one's code name. Another one. Okay. We have that. I haven't played it. Yeah. And then that kids like like Avalon and it's something the all ages can play. Yeah. Okay. I'm going to get this. I'll text you some pro tips of board games. My little six year old. He loves playing that game of cards. You know, it's like the game of lock the war. Oh, okay. You know, you just like. Yeah. It's like a card game. Yeah. And we can take hours. And we're just sitting there playing that. But like those type of things where you get that eye contact, that connection, they're doing something fun. You just make time to do those things. Yeah. You know, and make space for it.
And those are the memories. Those are the rich things that you maybe think. Oh, I have to slow down and play this game that maybe I don't like as much. But my kid likes. But it's like. You can actually get into it. Yeah. Afterwards, when you actually do it, you're like, okay, this is fun. I see the little joy in it. Exactly. You mentioned going to church. And I'm going through the book of Ecclesiastes in the Old Testament right now. And there's a Hebrew word called Havel, which is where it says everything. Life's a vapor. Yeah, it is. It's hearing gone. And you can see that it's like man, so fatalistic and depressing, but actually beautiful. Right. It's like soak it in, breathe it in because it is fleeting. But it's beautiful when it's here. And our souls are eternal. I believe. Yes. Oh, yeah. For sure. Like this life is form is temporary. This form is temporary. So every action has a reaction. Yeah. In my opinion. And so let's make good choices. Be kind to each other. We're all interconnected. Yeah. So how you treat other people is like how you should treat them. How you want to be treated.
And ideally how they want to be treated. Because everyone has different level language. So what do you know your love language? Oh, physical touch. Really. Matt went to. Yeah. Most guys are physical touch, I think. Are they? I think so. I think my husband's the acts of service for sure. Okay. My wife is probably acts of service. Yeah. But then we like a primary and secondary too, right? Yeah. I think the great book. I think I also probably, I mean, everyone probably likes it when someone does something for them. That's helpful. Right. Exist service. I probably like that too. Yeah. But we all probably have babies. I love the physical touch, like hugging, stuggling. Yeah. Like even since I was a little girl, if my mom would be like sitting on the couch, I would go and sit like right next to her, even though the whole catch was empty. I'm like, hi. I'm here. Oh, yeah. You know, those pieces in your closet that you find yourself wearing and repeat. This water that goes with everything, the perfect pair of pants or the t-shirt you somehow always reach for first. So Australia. So you're in New South Wales. Okay. So that's the East. So yes. Okay. You're in the like lower part. Yeah. On the east. But it's I grew up in of New South Wales, Northwest. So very inland, very rural.
The population was 10,000. Okay. My parents have been together since my mom was 16, maybe 15 and they had me when my mom was 17. Okay. They bought the cheapest house in, you know, a very small town had very humble beginnings and I, you know, but there was a lot of love. And my grandparents were right there. They had a farm. And my grandparents, you know, I spent so much time with my grandma. And she was just an incredible loving force of wisdom and humor. And she was always cracking jokes even on her death bed. She was making jokes like she believes that like humor was like. Close to God. Like, you know, when you can have humor and and kind of make light of things, then you can feel close to God. And I would sit with her and I would ask her stories. She would be she would teach me about cooking.
Shadow organic vegetable patch out the back. She's the one who introduced me to know me. Yeah. And I was super food, super food that I've been drinking since I was 13 and now I'm 43. And it's the key ingredient across my whole range of chloroorganics. Yeah. Every single product. Beautiful. Thanks to my grandma. Yeah. But she's shining down from heaven. Yeah. I feel like she's definitely with me every day. Now you're bringing Noe needs to the world. I'm bringing Noe needs to the world. Thanks to my grandma. Thanks, grandma. Yeah. So wait, so you. Where, how would you get to your town? What, what airport could you fly in? Where would you, and would you have to drive a while together? Well, in Australia, I mean, I grew up, we grew up kind of like having to drive very far. It wasn't really an airport. Yeah. But if you had to go to the airport and if you had to fly to Sydney, you would go by a tamarind, which is at 45 minutes drive away. Okay, got it. And then you catch a smaller plane to the bigger airport. But there was not really much traveling happening for me as a teenager in the country town.
Like, it was the first time that you flew. Do you remember? I think it was when I was, they had said that I was a runner up in this model competition. And so we had to fly my mom and I flew from Tamworth to Sydney. So I think that was the first time I flew on an airplane ever was because it was for modeling. It was for this competition that I ended up winning. And it was, I mean, it was very surreal. Yeah. I didn't even have, I didn't even buy magazines. A friend of mine entered me into that competition and I won. Wow. So how old were you when that happened? I was like a couple of weeks or 14. Wow. Was it, what did your parents think when you... My mom always said like, I don't want this to change you in any way. Like, the most important thing is that you're kind and humble. And the day this changes you or that you ever think you're better than anyone else is the day it stops. And I was like, yeah, of course, mom, I'm not going to think I'm better than anyone else.
But this is a fun, it was like a fun creative way for me to express myself. And I never really took it super seriously, which is so interesting that I had such a long career. And, you know, I'm still modeling this age. Yeah, it's wild. A lot more selective now than what I was back then. Back then, I just, you know, I was very grateful for any job. And there was a lot of rejection. I obviously didn't start fully modeling until after I graduated school. And the first place I traveled to was Japan. Wow. Yeah. So that was the first international flight you hit? Yeah, yeah. Was it to Japan? Yeah. Oh, well, no, no. I did a student exchange program when I was 15. So think about it. Flynn's age. I, myself and two of my best friends went on a student exchange program and we went to Virginia.
And how? Yeah. So the three of us caught an airplane together from the little country town and went to meet our host family. But what was great is our host family had already, it was a rotary exchange. And our host sisters had already came and stayed with us. So we got to know them before we got there. Hmm. So it was a beautiful. Well, every day was it. Uh, Tazwell. Okay. It was the first time I was ever exposed to the culture in America, the cheerleaders in America. Tazwell. Bulldogs. I was like, wow. Okay. This is fun. School spirit. And also the fact that like, it was so much like in the movies, it's like the school bars. It was like everyone's in like, burst into jackets. Yeah. No, like, but everyone's in like playing clothes like I grew up having a uniform. So I was like, what is going on and what a way to school? This is so odd. Yeah. Wow.
That's crazy. So 50 and we're the same age, which we've determined that you taught me in water. Where water. Where water pigs. Which is so glamorous. It's, I mean, it's actually quite favorable for our parents. Will you close with your parents? Yeah. Because water pigs are like very family orientated and the very sensitive and they work hard and they like good food, actually. Hey, that's true for me. And they're sensitive. Yeah, I am very sensitive. Yeah. That's great. So that's Chinese, lunar, um, yeah, but I kind of, I mean, we could go into a whole thing like the different kind of astrology, like Western, Vedic, Chinese, numerology. If you done it all, yeah. You know, just, you know why I think it's important to understand different facets of yourself. So then you can improve on those things, make peace with the things that are inherently like something that your soul is born with and try not to be anything, but who you truly are.
Yeah. So this thing's to work on and this interplay of nature and nurture, it is fascinating. And the different methodologies of understanding it, they're all unique and you can gain some insight from each one. I mean, you don't need to take it like as the gospel, the gospel. No, it's just interesting, I think, to find out like, oh, that makes sense. Which your favorite one that you did say that was like the most on point? Probably Vedic astrology. I have a great Vedic astrologer and he's been very on point every time I was pregnant. He was like, oh, now the boy is coming. I was like, wow. But how do you know that? He's like, what says it in your chart? Wow. Where you already pregnant at that point? Yeah. Or was it just a bit? Wow. So how about this story? Actually, my wife's from out here in Los Angeles and I was at school out here and she was a few weeks pregnant. And a test couldn't even show it. Yeah. And she went to her traditional Chinese medicine acupuncturist.
Oh, but she could tell by the pulse. In the pulse. She could not, she could tell by the pulse and she could tell the gender. Oh, wild. Yeah, yeah. She was right both times. My son, she said that your pregnant, it's a boy and then my daughter pregnant and just girl, two or three weeks in her wild. It is wild. It is because there's so much in your pulse and in your heart rate. Yeah. And then the other thing that changes. And these ancient, understand things of human nature and health and health and psych. Psychic personality, all of it. I love acupuncture. Yeah. So good. Do you know anyogram you are? Anyogram. Yeah. Oh, I didn't do that, but I never really dug deep. What should remind me? It's like one through nine. It's like a personality, but it's not truly present. Oh, you perceive the world. Oh, yes. I remember doing this. I'll send it to you and you could pick. Yeah. I remember doing this because that was interesting because it's not based on the day you're born. It's based on the way you think.
Yes. Yeah. Every one's perception is different. Yes. How they interact with people's different. Based on your... What they prioritize is different. Yeah. Yeah. Based on your childhood messages that you get. Yes. Really is what it's based on. It's fascinating. So what's yours? Five. Okay. I'm a researcher. Okay. Oh, I love research. I want to pick vibes coming in hot. Okay. So I know that you went through... There was a pivotal point in your understanding of health. You mentioned known with your grandma, but something happened to your mom. Oh, yeah. How old were you when that happened? What was the details? Yeah. I was a teenager. I'm trying to remember exactly how old I was. I would have been around sixteen. Okay. So right around that. I was born. And my mom was diagnosed with tumors on her spleen. And so at that moment, we thought we were a healthy family. Like, my grandma had taught us about no need. We originally were living in Ganada.
My grandma had an organic vegetable patch. So we were aware, but what we didn't realize is that our everyday products that we were either ingesting, that were packaged, or products that we were putting on our skin were being absorbed into our bloodstream and could have potentially been contributing to her illness. So we had to do a 360 approach of everything we were doing. My mom also had no idea that fragrance was detrimental to her health and, you know, can be an endocrine disruptor. And so she was completely unaware of that. And so many people are. And there were so many things that we learned during that time. And that's what really sparked my passion about health and wellness. And I felt, wow, it's crazy that we weren't aware of this. And we thought we were pretty healthy. And we trusted the fact that what was on the shelf was safe.
And then we realized when we got this little book called the chemical maze, and it would explain in layman's terms what the numbers mean, what some of the words mean, like whether it's, you know, sodium laurel sulfate, and that's a foaming agent. And, you know, and then what the adverse potential reaction would be. And it would have like a sad face or, you know, it had like a very simple analogy, which was really our handbook for many years. Of ingredients. Of like ingredients and whatnot, because we didn't have the research tools that we have available now with the internet and whatnot. And different verifications. And what I realized back then, we all realized is that we were looking because we realized our skin is the largest organ and what we put on our skin. So it's so important to have products that were certified organic and nutrient rich. And I was talking to my friend about this. And she was like, why don't you talk to my friend, another friend of hers,
who makes certified organic aroma therapy. And I spoke to her. And I was like, I really want to make these products for myself or my family. And she was like, yeah, she put me in touch with the lab and the chemists. And I flew down to Melbourne and met with them. And I was just kind of, we just kind of started the process because it was a need that our family needed. And I was really passionate about creating these products that would help us kind of nurture our skin and like cleanse our skin and whatnot, do the basics, but also kind of be results driven. And so, yeah, I mean. That was the genesis of core organics. What was the first product that you came out with? The NoniGlofe soil. Of course. And it's so iconic. And it, you know, the combination of the Noni and the Rosehip. And it really, the thing about organic ingredients.
And I think there's this misconception, maybe not with people on your podcast, because there are probably a lot more with it. But in general, there's a misconception that if it's organic, maybe it's not as powerful. But I find that it's quite the contrary to that because when you have an organic ingredient, the studies show that there are, it contains up to 60% more antioxidants than a non-certified organic ingredient. And that is because it's grown on soil that's not depleted over and over again. When you're certified organic, you have rigorous rules you have to follow. In addition to that, you don't have the unnecessary chemicals sprayed on the crops themselves. And then you don't have, from a product perspective, the unnecessary additives in the formulations as well. So it's like a threefold. And to me, I was like, okay, I can get more antioxidants. And then we all know when you're eating antioxidants and you're eating organic, it's good for your body on the inside. So, you know, it's kind of like a no-brainer that it's going to be helpful
and beneficial on the outside. And so I'm really passionate about that. And this has been my like baby. There are so many people out there that create brands to make money, haven't taken a cent from the company. I've just continued to invest in it. And the concept was 2006 in Australia. I launched in Australia 2009 because I realized when we were getting incredible results, my mom, she had like, serisus around her nose. And she was on a steroid cream. And I, and she, my whole life has had great skin. And she was never really one to wear makeup or anything. And she felt so uncomfortable in her skin. And I told her we're making, you know, the non-ego face oil. Let me send it to you. And let's just try it. Within like a week, she had called me and said, I'm off the steroid cream. This has completely healed it.
Yeah. And I'm just so blown away. I need to tell everyone about this. And so she ended up getting involved with the company with me and working with me for many years because she was so passionate about these results. I love it. That she saw firsthand. At one point, you know, I had my mom, my dad, my brother, my aunt, my uncle. So everyone working with me and it was so fun. But the company is, you know, growing. Yeah, we're growing. And it's beautiful to think of like the intelligence of nature just being more rich with something that's organic too. And then you think of the sustainability of it, right, too. It's like you're supporting farms ultimately that are doing the right thing and companies and manufacturers that are doing the right thing. And we're a climate neutral brand. So we specifically offset everything that we do. And obviously supporting organic farmers as well with everything that we do. We're a serrat pregnancy certified brand as well for women. Really important. And a common question that I get is this pregnancy safe. Yeah. And so, and what blows me away is that we've recently, not recently, but like the last, you know, not the first 10 years, but the last 10 years, we really invested in scientific studies to prove the efficacy.
And showing the before and afters and how you can transform your skin in a way and really get incredible results in a way that is good for you. Good for your health, good for your skin. And that just blows me away like when we did the plant stem cell retinal alternative. Yeah. Kind of products. And we tested them and we tested die hard retinal fans because some people just love the retinal it creates that so you'll turn over. It helps with fine lines and wrinkles. And so I was like, let's test die hard traditional retinal fans. Let's see if they prefer and get better results using traditional retinal or our retinal alternatives. And I think it was 85% said they got better results using my products than the traditional retinal without the irritation without the dryness. Yeah. Without, you know, disrupting their body and also being able to do it while you're pregnant because we use Bakuchio oil. Yeah, you explain that the different the alternative to retinal that nature provides.
So we have Bakuchio oil and alfalfa and they work together with SIE plant stem cells to really help that process and Bakuchio is such a natural how a house alternative to traditional retinal. But they work really well and the studies show that improve that. And that's what is so exciting to me like you go online and you see the before and afters and you're like, wow. I mean, for anyone listening, they go online. I see that before and after is like way before that because we have before we launch a product it's like five years of like. Wow. Between the idea and then launching it. So how do people use is that something the retinal alternative to the use of every night. What's your protocol look like with you know what our retinal alternative people really if they really want to see like dramatic results. You can use it morning and night without the dryness without the rotation. If that's like really what your focus is is wrinkles you we have a serum and a moisturizer.
You can use one or you could use both the test was just individual. So it wasn't using both but I really want to do some testing that are on like this is the regime. This is one month later after using this. Like that's what I really want to do. I think that'd be amazing to see the glowing skin. Because we have incredible products and like one product that we don't talk about much is our Milky Mushroom. Like it's like it's right. Well, we have a Milky Mushroom cleanser which is amazing and gentle. Yeah, my daughter loves that one. Yeah, and active algae is really beautiful to remove makeup. But you know what sells the most is our foaming cleanser because it's like a shot of like. Energy. It's like a spa like moment at home. We sell one every nine minutes on our online sale. That's the foaming cleanser. So I think I bought you a mini one because my husband loves that my teenage son loves that. I actually love that as well. So we do have a few selections of cleansers. You said the one that you don't talk about a lot.
Yes, it's a mask that you use the Milky Mushroom mask. I call it a sleeping mask but it's not a sleeping mask. So it's this is this Milky Mushroom mask and you put it on as like a final layer before you fall asleep. At night and it takes a couple of minutes to dry. It won't rub off on your pillow and you wake up and your skin is so hydrated and plump. It's like natural hyaluronic acid in there. So it little kind of secrets like that. Like people are obsessed as I said with the foaming cleanser. They're obsessed with our tumeric scrub. Like it just sells out all the time. The tumeric scrub. Our eye oil is like such a huge favorite especially with women because it sits beautifully underneath makeup. Our non-negotiable face oil is great for all skin types, all ages. Even I use it on my baby, the two and a half year old. If you know with teething and whatnot I'll just put it on and it's gentle enough for the. It's gentle with the out for babies. And anyone who has a really sensitive skin, my products are really really good for sensitive skin.
So you people that have like eximoser eyes, you said. Yes. We have a lot of people with autoimmune issues that listen to the podcast so it'll be great for them. Really good. And the body oil I must tell you is one of my favorite rituals to put the body oil all over my. I have body oil and body lotion that I mix together. And just kind of put all over and kind of in the joints like talking about autoimmune and things like that. To me is such a luxurious experience to be able to put the body oil all over my body. Well you're repairing the skin barrier with all of these. Yes. Oh, we're doing micro biome testing with Dr. Sabine Hazan. She's testing to say that it's like good. It like it doesn't hurt the bifurdoffylist. Yeah. I'll product so she's been doing. I love that you go the extra mile and you don't have to. I know but I'm I'm into research. Yeah. I'm really into research. I'm quite a pig. We've established that. Yeah. Clearly. Clearly. I really believe like it's so important to learn and continually learn and evolve and grow until the day that we die.
And that's something you know, I tried to teach my kids and like every day we're learning and growing and yeah. And you know, hopefully I feel that way. Yeah. When I'm. What's like my angel is said when you know better you do better right? Like we're always learning new things and like okay, let's make it better this way or that way. What if the reason you can't sleep, you can't focus and feel worn down by stress isn't a discipline problem. It's a deficiency problem. One of the most common nutrient deficiencies I see on new telehealth patient labs is magnesium. We run magnesium RBC to see actually what's getting in the cell. It is very clear to me how you can see the impact that not just physiological stressors, but mental emotional spiritual things will to and stress specifically chronic stress things that stress people will cause dysregulation will make the body feel unsafe at the cellular level as well. Two questions is it hard because you go the extra mile on the purity and the quality and the certifications to find. So you're not going to get that done because the industry is not like the way that you are doing it we saw all over the world just to get what you need to get what we need yeah yeah is that hard for the industry that you mentioned 2006 2009 like launching the company yeah then probably nobody understood we were. Nobody understood they were like what are you talking about but for me it made so much sense and now people talk about clean beauty and I'm like they put me into the category of clean beauty and I'm like we're so much more because we're certified organic and being certified organic is so hard and we have to go through so many like jump through so many hoops to be certified by a third party which is eco so close mass and everything we do from my manufacturing from our ingredients sourcing from what's written on our packaging.
Any of the claims we all have to be certified like an ordered and approved by them wow that's a rigorous process yeah and like I said like I'm doing this because I believe people deserve better I'm like this is like a passion I have it's almost like people like why are you doing this I'm like because I know people deserve better I know they can get results without compromising their health I know that they can you know have visibly glowing skin without having to you know. Beautiful do other things that are unnecessary you see this is your professional legacy like this is the something that will be here a lot longer than we're here I hope so yeah. And that's the thing you know and I also something that maybe your network of people here might appreciate but something I don't always talk about is with Quora it is the three sixty approach the mind body skin approach and yes we're all about results and yes we're certified organic and yes we're climate neutral and all those things we just spoke about but in addition to that we filter the products through rose quartz crystals and then we use other crystals so for the active algae range will use aquamarine and then we use clear quartz for the Milky Mushroom range and so and then for the retinal alternative we use amethyst in addition to the rose quartz and that's because I grew up with this fascination and love of crystals because when I was a little girl my grandpa was a house mover
and so he would move houses physically pick them up from the roots and move them to another part of the country in Australia when people did that and he found these big geod crystals underneath the house and he would bring them home to my grandma she was like hey and I was like please can I play with them and so we put them under the Willow tree that we would like climbers kids and so I had this little little like I was like wow these crystals they they were so amazing I didn't really understand until I went like I think I was on a family vacation in Byron Bay and I walked past the crystal store and I was like what wow this is awesome and now I know why I like these crystals so much because they're energetic vibrations and frequency and so kind of integrating that into my products was something that was important to me because and also on the back of every product is a positive word like less love hopes I was
bringing in Dr. Maserur Motos theory that every yeah everything we think or say has an effect on our body on a cellular level so cool and David Hawkins philosophy you know raising the consciousness and yeah so that's kind of so cool I just mean like that from day one it's kind of crazy friends will come and go but you're just doing it I'm just doing it since you've been doing me yeah I'm not trying to be in any trend so cool I mean how did you find that North Star have you always been like no this is what I like take it or leave it I feel like intuitively I had something inside that I wanted to express and help and I remember talking to my dad like I want to make a difference to people's life and at the time I was modeling in Paris and I was like I just don't know if this is the way for me to really make that difference like I want to make people feel good not like look at me and feel like inferior in some way
or because I've had that same feeling myself if I saw or someone in a magazine I'd be like oh wow they're so beautiful and like like I couldn't be that but like then I ended up being that which was weird but like I didn't want to make anyone else feel that way so I was like that's crazy yeah it's crazy wow because it just shows you that anyone feels like there's no human that's untouched by insecurities exactly yeah and I think models are some of the most insecure people that you'll ever meet because we're constantly compared to other people constantly you know being told like you're not this you're not that you need to be this you need to be that and to think like you know I actually had that from a young age now I'm in 43 there obviously is that I think that a lot of work I've done on myself and thanks to my grandmother who and my and my mother and father who were very much all about nurturing the inner
goodness and then also my meditation practice that started when I was 17 so I think those tools really helped me with my natural insecurities that I had and that were amplified through modeling so if I didn't have those tools it could have been a very different story yeah yeah I mean so come and pivot about your modeling career and you mentioned kind of founding core organics because you wanted something to make someone feel good versus being a source of insecurity but you found yourself in this place so you mentioned going to Japan when at what point did your career kind of take off to the next level how old I would took a while to be honest so if we actually my 15 year old was asking me this question the other day and because he was saying like you know how do you deal with like rejection and things like that and I was like oh wow I've had a lot of rejection in my life he's like you have and I was like yes I was like people probably think I happen but there's so much rejection in
modeling and so many you go to like sometimes I don't know 15 castings in a day and you get knocked back each one and you're like okay just pick myself up and do it again the next day and then you'll get one big job here or one big job there and what's interesting is I guess I was doing a lot of catalog work which was great because I was able to save money and travel the world so I was very much like the smiley happy go lucky go next door that was kind of my my niche and so that was doing pretty well to get me by and then I guess with Victoria's secret that wasn't until 2006 okay so that was 20 years ago yeah yeah how that possible yeah 20 years ago it seems like wow 20 years ago when I walked the first Victoria's secret was that your you did the catalog work was that your big
next sort of I guess that was my big next step and then also doing so then there was this like kind of like back in the day if you were a catalog model or even a Victoria's secret model you couldn't really go from that to fashion to high fashion you would normally just go from high fashion to catalog like just I'll do the high fashion then went to catalog but I was one of the first that went from very catalog girl to then doing high fashion with Stephen myself because Stephen myself met me and we really connected I remember the first casting with him it was like you had to sing a song you could pick a song and you had to sing a song in New York and get on stage and I kind of grew up with my grandma singing songs and singing songs actually makes my heart really happy so I was like great this is a great this is my time so I decided to sing Fiva by Peggy Lee
okay in front of Stephen myself and his team the one that you give me fever yeah okay you give me the we were singing Kenny Rogers before we started at no and hold him no and a photo anyway so yeah I love singing that's something that makes my heart really happy and so I got to sing in front of Stephen myself and loved it and we just connected and then he booked me for the job and then from there he ended up booking me for a huge spread in Italian Vogue and once he did that he's like the best of the best the most creative the most timeless the most elegant like he's just everything and so him believing in me and then Nicholas Gaskier who was at Balenciaga at the time really believed in me and he put me in his fashion shows and you know and that was before I was pregnant while I was pregnant straight after I was pregnant it just like was so fun to be really
part of the creative process and yeah of course the catalog side was fun but it was like very kind of not as creative as when you get into high fashion so it was really that was really nice to have someone that believed in me that thought that I could do both and not the way the industry typically does like you said between high fashion yeah so that was like it was like really fun to work with like the best photographer and the best hair makeup artist and after being in the industry for so long and having a lot of rejection from the high fashion stuff yeah it's that's tough to break I mean that's like very it's a tough crowd tough crowd yeah the catalog crowd is like fun yeah but then the high fashion stuff you know can be really like intense but luckily at that age I was like a lot more like comfortable with myself and kind of feeling good in who I was and and you know and anyway the people that I've
worked with have been amazing amazing and I got to work with some of the best people in the industry that is like create art that's you wanted to be creative one of the most common things that I see on Nutella Health patient labs that will really do it has such a needle mover to support so many different pathways in the body so people going through things they brain fog fatigue migraines cramping trouble sleeping issues even skin issues it is electrolytes sodium potassium and magnesium and minerals as a whole it really helps the electrical conductivity at the celly the level it's something we talk about as lengthen heal yourselves to it's just so important guys and it's something clinically I see move the needle I and I love supporting brands that are doing innovative things in this space and buoy is really really smart this brand purposely unflavered liquid electrolytes 87 trace minerals guys 87 trace minerals you can add to any drink level up your drinks

electric like discovery set with more drops for gut health brain health energy immune system and more and if you or someone you know is living with chronic illness buoy helps offset your health care costs with their chronic illness lifetime support program it takes two minutes to apply if you're going through this I'm Jessica Capchak and I'm Camilla Luddington and we are here with our new podcast we ride at Donish at its heart we write it on ish is about friendship resilience and showing up even when the right gets a little messy it's about weathering storms staying in the saddle and knowing that you'll have someone beside you and the sun comes up each episode dives into the glamorous and not so glamorous life as an actor motherhood friendship and really everything else in between so catch new episodes of our podcast we write at Donish on YouTube or listen wherever you listen to your podcasts every Thursday you have a light and a kindness about you that had to have been so obvious it may be in
an industry that maybe that's not as common yeah fair to say yeah I yeah people maybe one way in front of people but like they're different maybe maybe I'm the same I don't know I mean kindness kindness but funny you say that about the light because my mom had a little pillow that said shine your little light like she embroidered for me and she was like just let your little light shine and so like always shining your soul and and being the best version of yourself amazing and that's kind of like why I wrote the books I did beyond girls like treasure yourself and empower yourself many years ago yeah because it was all almost like a way to just encourage young girls and and to not to compare themselves to anyone like me just know that they're unique and beautiful in their own way yeah your path is not there path advice for us and use them in a different way yeah and like and like we're all so different and we all have incredible things and gifts to offer to the world so like tune into that and I guess when you can
really tune into that within yourself there's a knowingness that bubbles up and then it just like it has to go somewhere yeah so follow that don't try and suppress it or don't get in your head and think I should do this or I need to do that yeah so easy in this world today with social media to compare yourself to other people but that's your message for people is like be the best version of yourself don't I heard the analogy what anything else other people I've heard the analogy where it's like we're all like when you have different facets of a diamond they all reflect light in a different way but they're all part of the same diamond it's like to compare yourself like that facet like no you're your own facet find that it's all unique and own way I love that yeah so I've ran a random modeling career question what's your favorite cover that you did you have a favorite like magazine cover that you've been so many fun ones but I would say that the cover of Italian Bogud Steve and myself it was just so timeless and fun and and he would just like his incredible and he kind of like
does the pose for you and then you kind of he would be like and then you're like and then he takes a couple of shots and he's done because he gets the lighting everything right he really values the model he does everything to accommodate the models comfort which I was never used to I was used to like not being put first and just kind of like come on and do like you know we're gonna do like lots of different looks in this same look and we're gonna tie you out until we get the one shot that we need whereas Steve is like no let's maintain her energy let's take like maybe 10 frames and then I'll get the best out of her amazing and I won't drain her and I was like oh someone understands me you are on a show recently or somewhere it came out that they someone asked you on a podcast yes what do you have for breakfast yes and you said what works for you yes shocking answer of bison apparently the most benign thing became a big or
deal yeah so can you set the record trait like for people that were so what were they irritated about and I'll give you my perspective you know I feel like I I heard a lot of like feedback from people saying like that's unattainable like and a here's the thing I'm very much into health and wellness and I have been from a young age as you understand my story and since I gave birth or since I was pregnant with my eight-year-old you had known this I was struggling with proctitis and it was affecting me daily and so I went on their search and tried to look deeper because I thought I was one of the healthiest people I know but I kept trying to look 360 it everything and and part of what was contributing to that so I found for myself personally was the inflammation that was being caused by certain foods and the certain foods that were flaring up my individual body are bags at this particular time in my life hasn't always been but it is right now like eggs, dairy and wheat and so
you know for me to get my protein I need to look for other sources of protein yeah even like b-forza and doing well with on my test that I got back so I had to look for other yeah sources of protein and then you know I was reading a lot about you know how important it is to eat meats that are just like wild grown and you know obviously same with naturally organic wild grown fruits and vegetables yeah and so I was like okay someone had suggested that I tried bison and I was like okay and so I tried it and it's been working for me and so when she asked what I ate for breakfast those just being really honest I wasn't trying to be out of touch I really feel like investing in your health even if I was that young girl back in gunna-da I would still be investing my money that I would be working doing whatever it would be maybe if I didn't have this life I would want to invest in my health in a way that was attainable and
and part of that whatever that might be at that time in my life I would focus on I would prioritize because I really feel like that health is if you're feeling healthy and you can then give so much more to your family to your friends to to your work you can be the best version of yourself when you really can individually find out what works for your body and everyone's body is different everybody's very different and I when you told me that I was shocked I thought it was a big basic you know what's work works for you lots of people eat bison meat I think some people it's like in our culture today they're committed to misunderstanding especially certain people and it's like they want to be contrary and they want to be a keyboard warrior I just couldn't I couldn't believe how many articles were written about my bias and breakfast yes okay so I think at that point there's a slow news I don't get it but you know what it's the clickbait culture right it's like let's find something to tear them down but to me it's like I talk to not regular nine to five middle class people
for 16 years yes lots of people eat bison lots of people do and doesn't mean that everybody needs to have a goal and there's so many cost effective ways to get good meat I mean Costco Aldi Walmart Sam's Club Target they all have decent meat options for people that's bison or beef or turkey whatever yes so I don't know what the I really don't know I don't know maybe it was a slow slow news day yeah wow but I was like I'm trying I'm just being honest and trying like explaining what helped me and I struggled for many many years and I'm at a place now where you know my body is healing and in remission and I'm excited to share what's worked for me yeah exactly I'm not here to say that you know everyone else should do that I'm just saying this is what's worked for me exactly so come on guys come on the people that listen to this podcast get it come on it's like if they're offended by bison they don't have much hope for the world there's bigger problems in the world
than bison needs but someone decides to do for their own body yeah right anyways but you know I love I mean personally it was it was it was something and still something that like works for me yeah exactly and I like that you said eggs aren't loving my body back right now right now it could change yeah exactly it may not be forever but right now like there've been times when I've been vegan I know it I know it I've tried so many ways to heal my body yeah I remember we talked about bringing bone broth in a couple years ago you used to do bone broth at all sometimes but there's I've heard that can be led in bone broth okay then I was sorry we don't want to scare the people no we don't that'll be the next headline oh no chugging led bra oh no I mean there's just so much information and sometimes it can be overwhelming and so I think at the end of the day like if you can
go to the local farmers market yeah you know get some fresh produce and your body will tell you what's working for you yeah do the best I always say yeah the best you can do the best you can and give the rest of God like stressing about this stuff isn't good for your health either yeah I agree and you're doing the same you're doing that as well what do you think of peptides honestly I don't fully know okay like I know a lot of people are loving them I try to couple at one point I'm not on any right now I'm on like a very simple vitamin C D magnesium yeah very simple it's probably the least amount of vitamins I've ever taken in my life it is working for me right now simple fine because again you go back to gut health it's like sometimes people are taking too much yeah for their gut health and we are what we absorb and improving gut health's primary there yeah yeah what else it what is new in your wellness routine right now anything it's a very simple thing that I've
been doing I can't remember like it probably between six months any year because time goes so fast as we were talking about where I just open the blinds every morning I watch I open the blinds open the doors and just watch the sunrise and actually I've been doing it with my 15 year old and then we meditate together beautiful 20 minutes light therapy is great especially the beginning with morning light the morning light is the circadian rhythm yeah and then just after dinner have a little walk with the boys and it's the same thing to get that evening light before we all go to bed I also got into a lot of headlines by saying that I eat dinner early that's apparently a big problem for a lot of people but when you have young children and you want to eat with them and have that experience with them yeah what were the headlines but like people can't do that or what was the contrarian spin on that it's like not necessarily gonna work for everyone eating it for 30
p.m. if you have worked a different schedule yeah I mean I'm getting advice for humanity you're saying what works for you yeah so I mean sometimes it's 4 30 sometimes it's 5 p.m. I have a schedule because I have a two and a half year old and I like to eat as a family with the kids I like to eat early with them and then we go into bath time then we go into reading time and then I put the baby down and then I put the other younger boys down and I mean it's a long it takes a long time to do those things and I love that time with them that time to me is really sacred yeah that time where they get to have that one-on-one time with me they get to read the books that you know they like and and I get to read to them and it's it's really special yeah and so starting that that wind-down time earlier is more beneficial than starting it later and yes I I am very blessed that I can work from home and that I'm very blessed because my mom wasn't able to do that I know that
because as I said I grew up in this little country town with very very humble beginnings so I'm very very grateful that I now have the opportunity to work from home and have dinner with my children yeah early hey look you keep being light that you are because in a sick culture that feeds its own health problems like someone that talks about health that works for them is heretical and offensive and they want someone to pander and play Kate their victim mentality and the news like said because it's it gets people riled up it's it's like it's part of the actually they're they're I think their studies just show it's like beneficial for your health to eat earlier yeah it's this is basic actually basic stuff so thank you for speaking the truth despite when it's unpopular thank you being a human is a good thing being a healthy human is a good thing yeah and going to bed early yeah right like I love going to bed early but that's outrageous for people as well don't like remember when I texted you all was like I'm so tired I'm gonna go to bed
there's a gate be on yeah it was like it was 830 okay and then I know because I wake up at five okay yeah you work out first thing or you do your morning I do my morning watching the sun rise I meditate and actually I've been doing this a little bit of fascia exercises and Flynn's been doing it with me as well that's cool that you could do it with him yeah I really enjoy because the other boys are still asleep generally until around 630 645 sometimes 7 they'll stay but they're bad so we have that time in the morning together which is something I really value I love it before we go the podcast you did this last time probably it's been a few years the podcast is called the art of being well at the end we have your art of being well this is random curves art of being well what's the most disgusting nutrient dense food that you eat that I eat you can respect it oh you're not doing it for the taste probably noni juice yeah it's very it's pungent pungent it's an acquired taste how do you take it like I like a little 30 mil shot okay every morning
where do you are you getting it from a certain place or I've always taken Tahirja noni juice okay that's what my grandmother introduced me to and that's what I'm still drinking you don't need to do core organics needs to have a noni juice you know we had a supplement that had noni in it and it was freeze dried but what I found is worldwide it's hard to with so many different rules in every country it's supplement yeah yeah yeah yeah I could probably just do it for America yeah yeah I would make it what's something what's the weirdest most out of the box thing you've done for your wellness that you're willing to admit on a podcast the world people also go crazy about this and they have in the past is leeches okay I've tried leech therapy how did it go well I saved the leeches no leeches were harmed in my leech therapy I just want to make that very clear I have a I had a coy pond at the time okay and the funniest story okay this is probably not you don't need to include it but you can
but the funny story is so I had my leech therapy you know I'm not going to say exactly where she put the leeches but they were in places that we're interesting but apparently very good for your health I've only done it once okay would you do it again no I'm good one and done one and done anyway the leeches I had them in a little like vessel water vessel because afterwards she had said like you can either keep them or she will dispose of them and I said oh don't dispose of them these are beautiful creatures I don't want to hurt them and so we had them in this little like bowl and you know we had it covered but whatever and I woke up the next morning and they had escaped and so I had to put them back in there and then I put them in the coy pond and they were fine okay but they had they were like so energetic up to adventurous after sucking on my blood gave them some energy I gave them a lot of energy and they were like crawling around my house in
Malibu and I lucky I found them and I put them back in and then they were fine they made it far wow for a leech like I didn't know they could move that fast the leech races it was really funny I mean it's really funny yeah the theory is like to clean the blood it was a definitely it had in the past in history you know yeah it was used historically and had a moment in American wellness culture people still do it I'm sure people still do it yeah people still do it I don't know very many like it's like bloodletting exactly cleaning that yeah you're blood what's what's a supplement that is been the biggest tool for you personally I'd have to say the vitamin C D and I'm on Sabine Hazan's vitamin C D okay and I'm I'm loving it amazing it's just good fundamentals yeah love it where's someone you have it somewhere you haven't been to that's on your bucket list traveling wise oh I've always wanted to go to Egypt I'm not sure now's the right time
yeah but that would be pretty amazing yeah and where what's a book it could be fiction on fiction the people should add to their book oh I think that obviously your book here with yourselves yeah I'm gonna read that that's on my that's on my list but one book I would say changed my life is David Hawkins and it was power versus force so it talks about the scale of consciousness yes and how as human beings you know we up and down and during the day but then we basically resonate at a certain frequency and how we can elevate that frequency and bring more of that into our lives and more health and wellness also into our lives through changing our thoughts and changing our reality yeah I love that Miranda Kerr what a blessing thank you thanks for having me where do people go to learn about your work what you're doing with Korra organics oh so you can go to corralganics.com all my amazing products are there and then you can follow Korra organics on Instagram and you
