I think it's three wins, I think it's a difference somewhere in there. Because I think with Shedor, if Shedor was starting week one, I would be living where you're living with this team right now. Oh really? I would. That would be different. I'm not only, I would put up a belief sign myself. I think it would also be more watchable, which if you can't be good, being watchable is a trade-off some fans would make. Oh we got a mascot here, you'll get it. Well, just stand up. You might have to check yourself before you wreck yourself. I've had beef with Cleveland State's mascot before, we've done this. I appreciate you. You're not a pro mascot. 1:02well, we give you know six sports takes, that's allowable. It's the afternoon drive with Nick Wilson and Jonathan Peterland on Cleveland's sports radio, 92 3 The Fan. The show is back Nick Wilson, Jonathan Peterland for the next five hours. We are all yours, baby. We got a lot of rain in Cleveland and that might impact the whole double header thing, but we'll see how that shakes out. We got just over one week's time until the Browns and Jack wires actually get underway down Yonder in Jacksonville, the waiting game continues, but college football is officially back Ohio state is back this weekend. And we got a lot to talk to including. I remember reminiscing a little bit about the the fan of her story last night, but that open courtesy of Jack's Gregory on the board. Yes. Hi, Jack. 3:03I know. I know. Now I got it. Hi, JP. How you doing? Well, how's it going today? Oh, it's another day in the neighborhood. It is. It is. It is. It had a lot of fun last night. I did. I am tired. So I will do my best to deliver five hours of energetic, opinionated fun, sports talk. I did not get home until about 11 o'clock last night. We woke. We got about six hours of sleep, which is good. That's not bad. But then we tried to go back to bed after the kids got on the bus today. Yeah. And we were not having that. So we are. We're raw dog in the show today a little bit as the kids would say. And now that being said, that was a lot of fun last night. And I don't think anyone on the station has talked nearly enough about Andy Baskin starting the event on YouTube by calling Ken Carmen and A-hole. Yeah, that was that was a something, wasn't it? Yeah. Was that your favorite part of the event? It very well might have been because I don't think what I like about it beyond the obvious is I really liked that I don't think Ken sought coming at all. No, he was completely blindsided by it.

4:04That made it really humorous. Yeah. That's that's why he also said Baskin said it. If we put like the big board of who was most likely to drop an expletive to start the event, I kind of think Baskin was like a plus 3000 right? So here's the problem or at least the setup. So a yesterday Baskin's kept you like, oh, who would win in a fight? Is it Nick? Is it Ken? Is it Anthony? Is it Jonathan? Oh, morning show versus the afternoon. A brew off in the ages. And then we all sit down and we're getting ready to be very proper and just kind of like, do like, hey, go go 92 three the fan and Baskin stands up. You're a hole in your day hole in your day hole in your day hole. Yeah. Oh, it can. As if he had his mark picked out. Who knew he has been waiting 15 years to say that to Ken. Oh, no. And then we also found out that Jeff Phelps is seriously like protective of Ramon sessions. Yeah, that was funny. Lymas said, just all Lymas said was, ah, Ramon sessions was on that team.

5:06And Phelps was like, don't you say a thing about it? It was like, we stopped that there. Yeah. He was so serious about it though. He's like, don't you leave him think about going after sessions? I was waiting. Don't even do it. Jackson what I loved it. I was waiting for like, like, like a smirk. He cracked me up a lot during that event. I don't know that everybody else was loving it. I was a love and Phelps in that event because he was so like, so Phelps. It was just so him. Yeah. It was so perfectly him and I loved it. Even today, uh, him still being very disappointed about people cursing at the event was probably the most on-brand Jeff Phelps thing ever. Yeah, it's great. Absolutely great. And here's the thing I wanted to hear Jake Volnick curse last night. And that was the other thing because, you know, Baskin comes out with the A-hole just immediately. Yeah, right out of the shoot. He tosses the grenade in. I'm like, all right. Now it's time. And I mean, I heard one and then I told a couple out there. You could tell you wanted to get in the action. And then it like, there was a time where I was like, I got like four curse words here and

6:06we're like, maybe 25 minutes in. It kind of felt like when a radio host first goes on serious XM radio and realize they can do that. Or almost mentioned a very specific name or like if somebody does like a YouTube only show and they just keep coming up to the point of cursing. But oh, oh, I'm not going to do it. I could do it because it's on YouTube. But I'm not going to do it. Okay, then. What are you thinking of? Nobody specifically. I'm just saying like kind of like you with a serious thing. Yeah, like when they get a chance, when they get a chance to go, they go. I thought why am I the one that I delivered? Why am I the nice job I'm seeing? That was a lot of time for me if we're being honest. Now the funny thing, I don't know if you noticed this or not. And so we had a little bit of a mic issue and there weren't as many mics as there were people. And so a couple of tiles though. And so so why am I would like give me the mic or then give Darryl the mic who would off to his right anytime. There was a moment that he felt like, all right, you guys can chime in. And it was basically any time he felt like I was getting ready to like basically go after Ken and some sort of way. All of a sudden the mic became open. All of a sudden it was like, oh yeah, yeah, I think you have a point on this right?

7:07You're out of them. Oh, okay, all right. Good. Yeah. Now we have an opportunity. That's great. Yeah, there's a lot of fun to everybody that showed up. We appreciate you. But if you weren't there again, I thought Jeff made a great point today when they were talking about it on their show. Of like, you know, as many callers as we have, we know that there's, you know, 10 times of people that listen. But they don't call in but still support us. And so to everyone in this, in this goes to everyone that has worked at this station, including people that don't work here anymore. That is a giant celebration of everybody. They got to take the credit for it and got the love for it. But I mean, it is 15 years in the making of love and hard work and passion and fighting with each other, driving each other crazy, making each other laugh. And it was, you know, to be on that stage at any point in there, it was definitely an honor to represent the station. But it's a really, it's a really special thing. And I don't want to get sappy here or anything like that either. But like, I always tell you, I feel like I'm the new guy here constantly.

8:08And I've been here for 10 years, Nick. I've been here 10 years of built a family, built everything in Cleveland. And in radio terms, being in a spot in 10 years, you're the oldest guy at a radio station if you've been there for 10 years. I'm still, I'm the new guy to all of you guys. Yeah. And that's what's fun about that. Like, you don't, you don't have stations that are built like that where you have Ken that's been here from the beginning. You that's been here from the beginning. Lime up from the beginning. Basket and Phelps all from the beginning. And then again, Jake's obviously newer than I am. So he's going to have some of this and it's going to at 10 years from now, he'll be laughing the same way I am. It's like, you're never going to escape the new guy mentality. But stations aren't like this across the country where you have this many people that have been at a spot for as long as we've had it. And I just did, it's something that's really special. That's actually where I do get very weepy about this for as many shots as I take. And as many things as I've said, I mean, baskets, kids were little when the station started, you know. Yeah. They were younger than my kids are now, right? You came here single and ready to mingle and you found a lease and you had kids.

9:09My kids have gone from one year old and then the twins were born while I worked here. To now I have a teenager and two more teenagers on the way in about three months time. So it's just it's hard not to look at that and just get a little misty eye there. Yeah, and you just don't see that in radio where you can have that many people that have all lived through the lives of each other. This is that same way because in radio again, like 10 years at a place, I'd be the oldest guy there by a long shot. That's just not how it works. And so it's a special that we have that. By the way, on the caller side of things like Chris in Chicago, like there's all sorts of guys. I just never thought I would meet when we do this events. We've done so many different like tailgates and we do remotes and it's a lot of the you get a lot of the same guys that come out and we always appreciate that. And we do love that. But you know last night there was a lot of guys. I'd never met Demos before like a lot of callers we've had forever that just came out and I thought that was awesome. And we got to say Demos tried to pull the card of you know it's been Demos and Shaker for 15 years.

10:09He's like I'd actually tell the boardops. It's now Demos on Shaker. Yeah, well, and I was like I was like I can't do that seal. I can't you know I listen Prince. I'd love to go ahead and change your name but your Demos in Shaker. I can't get to the on Shaker. That's too much change for me. Yeah, it was very cool. Very fun. I'm sure I just one of those nights you just you'll remember for a while. I think we should do it again next month. You just want some month. Yeah. But maybe sure. Maybe we just don't invite some people. No, I said that's it. No, I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Who could that be? Well, because I think that was my favorite part of it is there was some ball busting going on and there was some needleing. And I will tell you I was not planning on being that cagey but we just did five hours. We stepped right into this scenario and you boy you boy hadn't eaten. Yeah, I didn't eat either. Didn't eat all night. It was kind of I compared it to like your wedding where just there was so much going on anytime you tried to make it over there. It just never happened. But like so what ended up happening is by the end of that after about seven and a half hours of talking and Keith actually short of us a half hour in the in the

11:15email to that special shout out. I feel like we always get shorted in those emails. Yeah, I never get mentioned. I like that we got mentioned. It was a very nice shout out. It was seven and a half hours of talking by the end of it. We ended it when we needed to because another 30 minutes in Nick Wilson talking and I would have been like a suspension handed out or hey, what did we have this you saying this thing on YouTube? We needed a handler is what we needed. We needed somebody to be like, now here's the food. Let's put the food in front of you. Now you guys eat and make sure you take care of yourselves because we stopped we stopped. You're wedding analogies great and perfect because it's exactly how that worked. But we stopped taking care of ourselves. Is there reality in that and more than one way for me. Where's supposed to take care of our own selves? But we just stopped taking care of ourselves and instead just talked everybody. But no, it was it was seriously great guys. It really was. Thank you for coming out. Anybody that supports the station. Thank you. And into everybody that showed up whether they're in every day, you know, host, whether you're a part time or with us.

12:15We thank you guys as well. And I know sometimes I can be very the irreverent and dismissive of things. It is so cool to work on the station and to be here 15 years in and I think I'm making it to 20. But we'll see why aren't you making this is what does only five years from now. You mean like physically you're not going to make it? No, I think I'm going to make it physically. Okay, good. I say a lot of things. Yeah. Yeah. And that eventually catches up with you. I am kind of the ultimate volume shooter of just. I don't know how this is going to go down. Don't you know, it's like it. It won't be today. It won't be tomorrow. No, you're the one that says like 10 wrong things from my one. I'm the one that's going to get sniped. That'll be funny. It's going to happen. It'll be something I say is the one that gets us and every like wait, wait, hold on. Yeah, we knew somebody on that show was going to get caught saying something wrong. And I would come out Jonathan that said it. And I would come out the day after and I would cut a scorching promo. And I would say this is a family man. This is my, this is my best radio friend.

13:17How dare you do this to him. He deserves better. And I would say like 10 things worse than what you got fired for. No, you have an easy out and I would get a promotion. You haven't, you haven't easy out. You just be like Jonathan's a company man. And as a company man, he'd respect me taking the company line and saying, well, not everything in life is good. That happens. I think we both know that's not happening sometimes changes necessary. Sometimes people need to be punished for their words. I think he given his best take on the air so far.
