For Where Your Treasure Is There Will Your Heart Be Also

0:00We might read together for a morning lesson this morning from Second Chronicles, the Seventh Chapter, Seventh Chapter of Second Chronicles. Second Chronicles Seven. And now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices and the glory of the Lord filled the house. And the priests could not enter into the house of the Lord because the glory of the Lord had filled the house. And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down and the glory of the Lord upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement and worshiped and praised the Lord saying, free as good, for His mercy and do earth forever.

1:01Then the King and all the people offered sacrifice before the Lord and King Solomon offered sacrifice of 20 and 2000 oxen and 120,000 sheep so that the King and all the people dedicated the house of God and the priests waited on their offices. The Levites also with the instruments and music of the Lord which David the King had made to praise the Lord because of His mercy in do earth forever. When David praised by their ministry and the priests sounded trumps before them and all Israel stood. Moreover, Solomon hollowed the middle of the court that was before the house of the Lord for their He offered burnt offerings and the fat of the peace offerings because the brazen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings and the meat offerings and the fat. Also the same time, at the same time Solomon kept the peace seven days and all Israel with him a very great congregation entering in of Hamas unto the

In the eighth day they made a solemn assembly for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days and the peace seven days and on the three and twenty-eighth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents. Thus Solomon finished the house of the Lord and the King's house and all that came into Solomon's heart to make it into the house of the Lord and in his own house he prosperous, they affected and the Lord appeared to Solomon by night and said unto him I have heard thy prayer and I have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice. If I shut up heaven that there be no rain or if I command the locust of devour the land or if I sinned pestence among my people, if my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then while I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes shall be open and mine ears

3:06attend unto the prayer that is made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house that my name may be there forever and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually. As for the if thou wilt walk before me as David thy father walked and do according to all that I have commanded thee and shall observe my statues and my judgments then while I establish the throne of the kingdom according as I have covenant with what they with thy father saying there should not fail a man to be ruled or in Israel but if you turn away and forsake my statues and my commandments which I have set before you and shall go and serve other gods and worship them then when I pluck them up by the roots and out of my land which I have given them in this house which I have sanctified for my name while I cast out my sight will make it be a proverb and a byword among all nations and this house which is high shall be in astonishment to everyone that passes by it so that he shall say

4:07what hath the Lord done thus unto this land and unto this house. And it shall be answered because they foresaid the Lord God of their fathers but brought them forth out of the land of Egypt and laid hold on other gods and worship them and served them therefore have they brought all this evil upon them. 8:26shall be required of thee then who shall those things be which thou hast provided. So is he that layeth up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God and he said unto his disciples therefore I say unto you take no thought for your life what ye shall eat neither for the body what ye shall put on the life is more than meat and the body is more than rain it consider the ravens or they neither sow nor reap neither have storehouse nor barn for God feedeth them how much more are ye better than the fows and which of you a taking thought can add to his stature when cubit if he then be not able to do that which is least why take ye thought for the rest consider the lilies how they grow they toil not they spend not and yet I say unto you that Solomon and all his

9:30glory was not arrayed like one of these if then God so clothe the grass which is today in the field and tomorrow is cast into the oven how much more will he clothe you or you a little faith and seek not and seek not ye what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink neither be ye of doubtful mind for all these things to the nations of the world seek after and your father knoweth that you have need of these things but rather seek ye the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added into you fear not little flock it is your father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom sell that ye have and give arms provide yourselves bags which wax not old a treasure in the heavens that fails not or no thief approacheth neither moth corrupteth for where your treasure is there will

10:37your heart be also greetings and the name of the Lord Jesus this morning what a blessing it is to be here among you on a beautiful Sunday morning I would say it's a perfect morning wonderful temperature green grass and crops in the middle of a rich land we're remarking to the glen as we drove up here this morning what percentage of the world would actually see a scene like this lushness of crops abundance and food wonderful highways and peace to travel where we feel what a blessing it is to be and then the best of all is to be among God's people that's who we're ministering to this morning and each one of us interlives people that we know and trust and love the text verse this morning we won't spend a lot of time here in Luke is simply this verse at the brother red for where your

12:39suppose that probably some of this will be something that I've never talked before in that plane and I don't really want to preach some of this sermon this morning but this is probably the third time that we've talked about this message this morning in a different vein and we'll go with that a little bit but for where your treasure is there where your heart be also in the Greek that word heart in every place that we've talked about that this year this will be the third time the Greek word is Kardia K-A-R-D-I-A and what that word means in the Greek is this here it refers to far more than the physical organ it represents the core of a person's being the center of all human thoughts desires emotions and willpower it's the very soul of who we are and I don't think anyone else

13:40this is foreign to us to not understand that when he talks about the heart as Jesus has presented here and the epistles and different things that that's what he means but every one of these scriptures pretty much refer to this that it refers to the soul so I would like to this Romans 1 and Luke I struggle with how I put these together as I listen to this but as I listen to Jesus talking in these chapters in Luke as he as Luke has recorded it from a physician mentality and recognizes the power of his words and Holy Spirit has directed him to write it down we can go back into that eleventh chapter of Luke in that 29th verse you'll see a trend all the way up through these chapters you can go back into the tenth chapters all these parables and Jesus is teaching who is he talking to he said he came to his own his own receiving night he's talking to the Jew primarily and the other

26:15but as since then they have did enough technology to image the brain and do test on people in different confrontations of issues and stuff something that might make you anger something that might make you feel good and and they can get different imaging they come up with this word and and what this transforming and renewing means beyond the metamorphous change is what they call neuroplasticity and neuroplasticity is something that gets molded into is something that changes and scientists now that every he become a believer and he's administering the gospel through his experience of neurosurgery and the things that didn't make sense over the year with a little baby that he got consulted in that was born basically with no brains just had a little lining around her head and mounted to brain and inside of her whole brain was filled with fluid and all the counselors there this baby said we shouldn't even feed it it'll just be a vegetable and he got called in and he just didn't know and the parents fed that little baby and at the time

33:37years old was living with a female partner and she was a professor at Syracuse University just like she was and their friends were simply one circle the gay community and she was a very outspoken promoter of the LGBTQ community was doing research on a paper of how the lifestyle that she lived as a lesbian did not hurt anyone I know this is pretty rich and I never talked like this ten twenty years ago in a public setting to make come a time that we can't but she was a very outspoken of this and she was writing this paper that was going to be published she had wrote all kinds of articles she was she was untouchable tenored she was untouchable as what she could say what she could write she couldn't be censored due to it takes it I looked it up and it takes quite a process to be a tenored individual someone that can't be condemned well you know

34:40God had other plans for Rosera she just happened to live next to Ken and Floyd Smith and Ken was an old pastor of the luchers there locally and they just befriended her you know with her short hair and her piercings and maybe a few tattoos and whatever and little by little they invited her over for a meal and she remembers going in their feeling very uncomfortable she says in her story and she says that but there was something that felt good about family a man and a wife and so on and they just just reached out to her he didn't preach to her didn't give her scriptures and after a few times he gave her a little bible and she took it home and she being a an English professor she was intrigued in all kinds of writings and research and the more she read the more she studied she was intrigued by the English language and she started reading the bible every morning and she

35:40got intrigued by the language and her partner came in one morning and just couldn't believe that she was reading the bible and she read it and she was totally a secular feminist and her whole circle was a secular feminist and whatever and the turning point in the story if anybody has heard or read her book was a lady showed up a used to be a man or was a still a man or whatever you want to call it name was Jill found out that he was a former Presbyterian pastor who was named Matthew and so she got the questioning in her circle what if the bible is true and they just laughed at her and so on so she made this comment to this Jill or Matthew whatever he was at that point and he said I know it's true and he said because he had been a Presbyterian pastor and shockingly somehow in a moving or whatever she found a box or he give it to her of his old seminary books and papers and she was curious and she looked through it and she came across the picture of a beautiful wife

36:48and two young children there was his wife and children and it hit her to the very corvour heart that this man was now dressing in girly clothes and he'd give up a beautiful wife and two young children for that and it's sick under the very lifestyle that she lived and it cut her to the heart because what was she doing she was writing a paper that their lifestyle didn't hurt anyone and she couldn't reconcile that so little by little within two years she had renounced that life and started going to a church and by the age of 39 was married to a man as a pastor that was 27 29 years ago now 64 I believe and adopted four children and has made the statement there's nothing like life living with a godly man she teaches all over the world against this lifestyle and that is an amazing story of there's books and some of you probably know the name of the books

37:51well let's go on down through Romans here look what they did we went to the 23rd verse you know what that 23rd verse is telling us the first thing they did was they exchanged the glory of god to corruption this is what the culture of the world is doing today changing the glory of god to corruption now look at that 24th and 25th verse wherefore god also gave them up to the uncleanest to the lust of their own hearts did dishonor their own bodies between themselves who changed the truth of god into a lie and worshipped and served the creature more than the creator who has blessed forever a man they exchanged the knowledge of god for falsehood they decided to give up the knowledge of god and give over to a lie to complete falsehood and then the in the 26th verse i've never i've never read through this publicly because i just kind of skip over
