One poem only. Just for now, just for you. Here's today's poem. Today's poem is by Gigi. Frida. Falling more deeply in love with myself means falling even more deeply into the intensity of me. Falling into the pits of darkness that are mirrors of both truth and delusion. Why? Why did I have to fall? Why did I have to leave? Why? Because of love, the love for myself, the love for women, the love for all. Because falling into the darkness is an invitation to intentionally hit my head, rack my oozing skull, and pour all over myself with love. Because swimming through this sea ocean, universe of darkness, means floating back to the light of me. Because someone once gave me a box full of darkness.

It took me a while to see this as an everlasting gift, instead of a perpetual curse. By Gigi. You can find her on Substack at the Matriarchy Rising. She has two books, the Scorpio Rising and the Maryland Rising, letters to Maryland. Her current book in progress, the California Rising, Holmes from San Francisco to LA, will be published later this year. Thank you for listening, poetry lover. If this poem moved you, share it with someone who needs it.
