01so alongside a money tumor. Giants fall to the Rams 28 to 6 in week two on Monday night football. And you know, it really felt like once Jackson Dart went down with that knee injury on the first drive drive that it completely changed the complexion of the game. And not only did it kind of take the air out of the building early on, it was hard for the offense to get going after that. Yeah, I think a lot of the reason why that it was hard for the offense to get going was because you know, the backup quarterback and James Winston wasn't able to get the reps with the first team and those reps are valuable because not only do they get from it with their cadence, not only to get familiar with how you call the plays and what you what plays that you like specifically, it's every time there's a new quarterback, it's almost like there's a whole new offense because every quarterback sees the field a little bit differently and the timing was definitely, he saw a lot of air passes early on. And that's just because he hasn't been in there before. He has a great arm and you know, he has an opportunity to, you know,

02do what he did last year, step in for Jackson Dart and win some games with Giants. Execution was the main theme or lack thereof, I should say. This post game just to take away from hearing from Pat coach John Harbour and also players as well. Where else do you feel like they failed to execute tonight? I feel like the past rush, which was so good last week and the physicality of both defense and the offensive line. It started out really good, but as the game kind of war on, they weren't able to hold up as well as they did versus the Cowboys now. Is that a function? Because it's so early in the season, you'll know if it's a function of are the Cowboys that bad or the Rams that good or vice versa. But we're going to figure out what kind of team we have. We said two opportunities to see what this team is going to be. One was very encouraging and this one, I wouldn't say, is depressing, but I'd say this one shows where kind of we are in terms of the consistency of week to week and this week was a week where

03if the Giants would have executed more, stayed a little bit more healthy, who knows what happened in this game? Absolutely. John Harbour said post game that it's a week to week league. And so now it's about, they got punched in the mouth and it's coming back and how do they respond? And I think it's a good test for them. It happens early on, early in week two. You have a whole season in front of you still to have a little bit of adversity and see how you bounce back. One other area that was noticeable to me was just rushing yards. Last week, I believe the Giants rushed for don't call me, but I think it was over 150 yards rushing. This week, just 52 yards rushing. I think we talked about just the difficulties of kind of getting the offense going, but what do you think made the ground game so difficult for them? I think when you get behind and you don't make the defense respect both the running game and the passing game equally keep them off balance. I think Matt and Agu did a great job last week of mixing the run in the pass. So the Cowboys weren't able to pin their ears back and kind of go after the quarterback.

08And this week, I felt like because the Giants got down early and also their running game wasn't as effective. I think a lot of that has to do with because of Jackson Dart not being on the field. Jamie Swinson is a different type of quarterback. He doesn't run the ball as well as Jackson does. And so taking that whole aspect of the offense hour of the game just makes it easier for the defense. There's one less thing they have to worry about. And the more they can get you one dimensional defense gets you one dimensional, the better and more successful building. On the other side of the ball, we know obviously who Matt Stafford is in a quarterback and he's got some incredible targets and Devonte Adams. He hits him for two touchdowns, multiple receptions. I think we finished with 10 catches. I think it was just what stood out to you about their chemistry tonight and just how he was able to throw a ball. It reminded me of the Troy Ackman and the Cowboys with Michael Irvin. They had this play that they ran. It was called

10the, it was a stick post and it was uncoverable. And I think there was some plays tonight that Newsom was right there in good coverage. But the ball placement and the camaraderie and the comfortability that Devonte and Matt, the Stafford have were evident. And that's exactly what was missing with James Winston and the rest of the off and the receivers were for the giants. And so there's something to experience. There's something to playing together. And this is what you get when you have a new scheme, new system that everybody's still learning. You met the male. I had there were a couple of passes where where Newsom was in perfect coverage. And there was nothing that he could do in that situation. It was just Adams really displaying that elite skill set that he has. A positive for the giants this game was the play of Joanne Holland. He had another interception, a fumble recovery. This is coming off of week one where he had an interception as well.

14An impact maker and in back-to-back weeks, what made him so disrupt it? I just feel like he's in his interviews this afternoon after this after the game. He talked about being around the ball. That's something that he prides himself on. And when you're around the ball and you're a ball hunting defensive back, usually you come up with some plays. And the punch outs are great. And the interceptions are even better. But he did lead the team. Him and Nuban both lead the team with a tackles today. And so that tells you that this defense is being stressed at the end. You do not want your two safeties to be your leading tack. What is for the day? That's a bad sign of things to come because that means the safety is the last line of defense. And the giants last line of defense today was had 16 tackles between them. Why do you think there was so much confusion defensively today or what made I guess maps?

17We know Matthew Stafford. He's such a disruptive quarterback. But what was it specifically today that you think the defense just struggled with? They got blocked a little bit more. They were sticking on blocks a lot more than they were last week. They still tackled well. But when you're giving up almost close to 200 yards rushing, there's a lot to improve upon in terms of the execution. And I don't know if it was because of a long travel. I don't know if it was because. But I just look at the outcome in 180 or 90 yards rushing is too much. You're not going to win many games as league rushing for that many yards. Some injury news as well. Obviously Jackson Dart. He'll be further evaluated tomorrow. He went down with that knee injury. Also Brian Burns went down late in the game as well. Head coach John Harboss said he had a low ankle sprain and Malik neighbors went out

18with what looked to be a shoulder injury of some sort upper body at least. But he returned to the game. So for him, I can't imagine the roller coaster of emotions that he must have had in those minutes when you're trying to determine, hey, is this another significant injury or is this something that I'm going to give it a minute and it's not going to hurt his bad? Yeah, you know, when you get out there and you start piling on the injuries, so see a guy who hasn't been injury pro throughout his career, you're just thinking, oh, man, is this me? Well, why do I have this bad luck and all this stuff? But I feel like the frame to come back in the game, show some toughness, show he wants to be out there and competing. And you know, he didn't have the game that he wanted to. I don't think he had one catch, but I feel like, you know, just him being on the field running around him getting back into the flow of the lifestyle of being an NFL football player. I think he's just going to get better and better as the season rolls on. So as we mentioned at the top execution was the name of the game as they looked to week three against the Tennessee Titans. What areas do you

19want to see them clean up? And maybe what's the message that you want to send when you're back on that that life? They need to be more physical. I mean, I want to see that team that played against the Calvaries. I mean, I this team did wasn't as physical as they were in the week one. So I was I was a little disappointing with that, but I feel like they're still tackling well, but I feel they need to be the dominant both offensive line and defensive line that there that wasn't the first week. Because I saw a lot of the line surge at the snap the ball. You see which team goes forward, which team goes backwards. And last week for Calvaries, we were always going forward this week. Now there was some stalemates towards the end. We were losing ground. All right, they'll look to make those corrections on a short week because they're back at it on Sunday when they take on the Tennessee Titans. That's it for the Giants Huddled podcast. The Giants falls the Rams 28 to 6 in week two. We'll see you again soon. Hey Giants forever. Love you Eli. Oh, thanks.
