Have you ever wondered if this more to this world than meets the eye? Welcome to His light, Your Path with Pastor Rod Hallor Sr. Today's devotional is titled, glimpses into the unseen, where Pastor Hallor explores Job 1 where we will see that there is so much more happening in the spiritual realm around us. Job 1. Verse 1 There was a man in the land of us, whose name was Job, and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God and is chewed evil. Job 1. Verse 6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. In the first two chapters of Job, we see scenes on earth and scenes in heaven. In other words, we see the reality of this universe and beyond.
There is a physical world that we live in, and there is a spirit world that must not be denied or ignored. Too many people are consumed with the physical world. They invest their lives and all they're in, never giving any thought of the spiritual side of life. This physical world will pass away, but this spirit world will ever be, and one day we will be in heaven or hell. Let us glean some profound truths from Job 1 and 2. Notice that Satan has access to the throne of God. This will not always be, because one day in the future, Satan will be cast from heaven. But for now, Satan has access to heaven to stand before God, accusing believers. Revelation 12. Verse 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven,
now is come salvation and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ, for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. Well, Satan accused Job of serving God only because of God's protection. Job 1. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. So it is that Satan has set forth this challenge before God. When God granted Satan to have access to Job, but he could not take Job's life. Job 1.12 And the Lord said unto Satan, behold, all that he hath is in thy power. Only upon himself put not forth thine hand.
So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord. Here we see Satan can only do what God allows him to do. When he left the presence of the Lord, in other words, Satan is not omnipresent. He is only at one place at one time. It is God that's everywhere all the time. Job was never informed about the interaction of God and Satan. He did not know about the deal struck between God and Satan. It was enough for Job to trust and obey. If God needed Job to understand his situations in life, then God would have told him, These lessons are for us today. There is a physical world and a spirit world. There is great interaction between the two. There is God and his eternal glory and all they're in. There is a devil and his forces of evil that oppose God and his plans and purposes.
There is great hope for us. God is more powerful than Satan. God governs Satan according to His will. Like Job, we are to trust God even when we do not understand life. It is for us to apply ourselves to righteous living by walking in the Spirit. Galatians chapter 516 tells us, This I say, then, walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Therein is the victorious Christian life. Thank you for joining us for that powerful devotional from Pastor Holler glimpses into the unseen. It's a profound reminder that there is much more to life than meets the eye.
