You're listening to Comedy Central. From the most trusted journalists at Comedy Central, it's America's only source for new. This is the Daily Show with your host, Michael Costa. Welcome to the Daily Show. I'm Michael Costa. We've got so much to talk about tonight. Hell yeah. Hell yeah. Trump gets ghosted by a friend. The best player in the NFL doesn't even exist. In Fox News, uncorks a 25-year-age bottle of Islamophobia. So let's get into the headlines. Let's start with the big event that finally kicked off tonight.
Fans from across the country filled the stands to cheer on big, sweaty men with brain problems. At Trump's mint-term convention in Dallas. We'll have more coverage tomorrow, so you don't want to miss it. Everyone's going to be there, and I mean everyone. Are you going to the mint-term convention? Uh, no. I'm going to be in my district. Okay, okay fine. Okay fine. That guy's not going to be there, but everyone else is going. Are you going to go to the public convention next week? I'm planning to be in my district. I have to be in the district because I have events. I'll be in the district traveling across the district. Damn it. Does everyone have a district nowadays? Okay fine. They're out too, but it's not like everyone's campaigning. At least the rest of the GOP can go. I want to get there, but I've got a few things on my son's plane, high school football. And I promised I might not miss any of his games. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Classic midweek high school football game. That's why they call it Wednesday night lights, baby.
Clear eyes, full hearts, can't go. Okay, that guy's out, but everyone else. My son's getting married. In Greece. Destination wings. I have a good excuse, right? Look. Son, I need you to get married in Greece this week. I know you don't love her, but this is important. But don't worry, everyone else is going that didn't have stuff planned. I had stuff already planned in my congressional district. I didn't know stuff was a political term. I thought it was just what I told my wife what I was doing when I drink alone in the garage. But look, it's not like they're all just trying to avoid Trump like the plague because these excuses are valid. House appropriations chair, Tom Cole, says he has a can't miss dove hunting event. Yeah? Oh yeah. You can't miss dove hunting. Eat lead symbol of peace.
All right, so a lot of the people aren't showing up to the convention, but don't worry. Mitch McConnell, he's already there. His office just posted a photo and he's looking better than everyone. That's proof. But the midterm convention isn't the only big event happening this week. Hey, tell him what else is going on, JD? 9-11. We're about to celebrate the 25th year. Yeah, okay. Well, we're not going to celebrate it, JD. Happy 9-11, everyone. I brought rice crispy towers. JD Vance sounds like me when there's a Jewish holiday coming up. Happy Yom Kippur. Is this a happy one? I don't. Okay, so we're not going to celebrate 9-11, but we are going to commemorate 9-11.
And one thing I always think about is how in the days after the attacks, President Bush made a genuine effort to defend Islam. These acts and violence against innocents violate the fundamental tenants of the Islamic faith. And it's important for my fellow Americans to understand that Islam is pieced. Boy, we really didn't know how good we had it, didn't we? I'm not saying this man was perfect, but that was a full coherent non-racist sentence. Hindsight, huh? The point has back in 2001. President Bush was imploring the country not to lump all Muslims in with the terrorists who committed 9-11. So now it's 25 years later.
Hey, how's that going? An online petition is calling for New York City Mayor, Mamdani, to skip this Friday's 9-11 memorial ceremony. Why don't you go visit one of the mosques you support? It is now racist to be wary of a religion that calls for the killing of anyone that doesn't subscribe to it. Doesn't feel very racist to be Islamophobic. Seems kind of sensible. Well, the Muslims, he supports our murders. Okay, I guess some of you guys might have missed the Bush speech. So yeah, it sure seems like people are mad that the mayor of New York is going to attend a 9-11 memorial while being Muslim. And Mamdani can't be happy about that, but he's staying above the fray. Just last week, he signed a proclamation declaring September 11th a citywide day of remembrance. It's the kind of solemn, serious ceremony that I'm sure his critics will be happy about, right? Right? It is being called a slap in the face to the families of 9-11 victims.
He handed a ceremonial pen to his, first his one staff, and he puts it in the hands of Ramzi Kasim. All right, well, so much for that. And also, wait, wait, wait, wait. What are you complaining about? Who is Ramzi Kasim? I mean, from his name, I can guess what you think is wrong with him, but I'm going to let you say it. We know he's Mamdani's chief counsel, that's fine. But he once represented a convicted al-Qaeda member whose brother-in-law hijacked the plane that struck the Pentagon. Ah, okay, so apparently the mayor shouldn't come to ground zero because his lawyers, former clients, brother-in-law, was one of the hijackers, and then that guy was in a movie with Kevin Bacon. First of all, I don't like the implication that I can be held responsible for the actions of my brother-in-law, okay?
I mean, he married my sister, Yuck! But secondly, just because a lawyer represents someone doesn't mean they support their actions, John Adams defended the redcoats accused in the Boston massacre because he believed everyone had the right to legal counsel. And yeah, that's right. I stayed awake for the first eight minutes of the Paul Giamatti miniseries, so suck it. So fine, maybe you don't like that this guy's in Mamdani's administration, but why do you care that he gave him a pen? Everything that the mayor does is very scripted, and he is giving subliminal messages. This is things that he are doing intentionally. He's spitting in the face of victims and survivors of 9-11. I'm telling you, this was symbolism, it was cryptic, but it was a message.
Seriously? He gave a pen to everyone. It's not like when he passed it to Ramsey Cosum, he went, woo! Okay, if you really are sending a message, who is he sending the message to? I hate to even say this, Laura, but you know, it's a message to Osama Bin Laden that, look, we conquered New York. A message to Osama Bin Laden. Lady, guess what? I have some great news for you. The United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama Bin Laden. Yeah, we did it! 15 years ago! Look, I know nothing I say is going to convince the Mamdani haters, but if you ask me,
the idea that 9-11 is about Muslims versus America isn't just wrong. It's accepting Osama Bin Laden's vision of the world. In the fact that 25 years after 9-11, we have a New York-grown Muslim mayor leading our remembrance. Proves, proves to the world that Al-Qaeda didn't win New York one. So yes. Everyone is welcome at the 9-11 ceremony, and I look, I would be there, but unfortunately, I'm going dove hunting, and it's skimps. For more on this controversy, facing the mayor, let's go live to City Hall with Jordan Klepper. Jordan, it seems like this whole thing is kind of overblown.
The mayor attending the ceremony is a slap in the face to all the people who understand the symbolism of the pen, which might have reminded you is mightier than the sword, which is a weapon of war, which is what we were in after 9-11. I mean, come on, how thick are you? So are you suggesting the respectful thing would be for Mamdani not to attend the ceremony? What a slap in the face! Mamdani is going to skip a 9-11 ceremony. What's he going to do instead? Let me guess. Stay at home and pleasure himself to 9-11 footage, huh? Oh, man, slap in the face, spit in my mouth. Okay, so what's the appropriate response? He goes, but doesn't give a speech? Oh, face slap, I mean, so what? The muzzle mayor is just going to stay silent about 9-11 on 9-11. Why won't he announce it, Michael?
Huh, slap in the face, dick punch. Tell me I'm a bad boy! You know what? You know what? Forget it. Forget it. How about he just leaves town for the weekend? Oh, on what? A plane? You want pen boy to get on a plane on 9-11? What are you planning this now, Michael? Like some kind of co-conspirator? Wow, slap in the face! But seriously, is there anything that can make these critics happy? Yeah, it's simple. All Mamdani has to do is not attend the ceremony. Not be the mayor, not be a muslim, and ideally be a white guy named Chad with a New York Jets tattoo on his calf. And if he can't do that, then at least step back and let the people who were there remember what happened. Like George W. Bush. George W. Bush? The guy who did 9-11 slap in the face! Forget it. Jordan Klepper, everybody. And we come back. We discover the latest NFL star. Don't go away. Stop it.
And we're back. Streaming on Peacock. Present to you the award-winning staff of the Toledo Truth Teller. Slap me, it's Joss something loose. I like that. The certified fresh series returns. You're a sadistic pig. The paper. New season's streaming September 9th, only on Peacock. This show gives me a reason to laugh. APPLAUSE Good job. With most news stories, we try to cover them quickly, but other news stories require us to go deeper. For those, we turn to Josh Johnson in our segment, Into Deep. The NFL. It's what your dad watches instead of you.
The 2026 season just kicked off tonight. And this year, there's one player I've got my eye on. Right now, you can call me a 49. Boy, Jay Love. What are you signing with? You already know the night of the day. Anything you gotta say for the fans? Look out number seven. Last name, Love. Six, five, two, ten. I'm out there. Why receiver? Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Day-John Love. Why receiver? San Francisco 49ers. I picked him first on my fancy team. And turns out that was a huge mistake. Federal authorities say they've arrested a man who posed as a San Francisco 49ers player as part of a dating fraud scheme. You as attorneys say, Day-John Love stole more than $1 million from two dozen women. Day-John Love used this public Instagram profile to lure in and then convince women they could get wealthy by trusting him with their money. One image on Love's profile shows him dawning a 49ers headband
while sitting in a seat with a Lamborghini logo. That's right. It turns out Day-John was pretending to be a football player to scam women out of money. It's a good reminder that just because someone dresses for a job that doesn't mean they actually have that job. I know. Because one time I asked a nurse to check me for a lump and they kicked me out of a Halloween party. But Day-John Love worked very hard to make it look like he was actually on the 49ers. However, when you see the videos of him training, let's just say there were clues. You saw it for yourself.
An NFL-wide receiver just tripped while jogging on sand. You're probably not going to go pro if you can be guarded by a Lucy Shell. Dude looks like the first person a live guard would ever have to save on land. Plus, what football player wears his helmet to the beach? Was he worried a shark was going to try to eat him from the top down? And check out this video of him doing high knees. Okay. Is he very unathletic? Yes. But what? Football players can't frolic? Can a guy hit the grid iron and skip to my loo? And I didn't understand why he always had to have the helmet on until I saw his mug shot. I've heard of helmet hair. I didn't know you could have helmet head. Plus, I'd probably keep my helmet on too if my hair started at the 40-yard line.
It's like his hairline got called for holding and they pushed it back 10 yards. And sure, people question why this NFL player never played an NFL game. But he had a perfectly good excuse. My fangy. So this is my finger. I can't really fully bend it. I'm a lot better now than I was when it first broke. Because I didn't get involved in the league the normal way. That was an issue. So, this is the finger I broke. This one here. That's as far as I can close it. Now, if you look at this pinky, I could go ahead and fall into a complete fit. Yeah, girl. I can't play. I can't play because my thumb all the way off. But like a real-wide receiver, I needed to go a little deeper.
It's easy for us to not believe him now. But from the outside, his social accounts did make him look like a real player. Even Google AI thought he was legit. And he was driving around in real Lamborghinis and McLaren's. He had real chains and watches, like a football player. And you know how those football players always be eaten cookies. His game became so multi-layered that people failed to see. That every reason to believe him was also a reason not to believe him. He has the helmet, but no jersey. He's a millionaire who needs your money. He's an athlete built like me. And I'm built like an equipment manager. And for the people who did believe him, he had more lives ready to go. Love posed as a wealthy NFL player or a Swiss real estate investor. I was born in Switzerland. I moved to America when I was 10 years old. My family is one of the richest families in Switzerland. Like where developers.
So we develop malls, hotels, luxury estates, communities, luxury communities, which could be homes at a 4.5 million out of the house and above. This man is a real imaginer. For an American black man to lie about being Swiss. Like... Oh! I'm not trying to get stuck on this, but Swiss. Like it's easier to believe he's all the 49ers than to believe he's Swiss. The only thing I know that's black and Swiss is Swiss, and even that. Even then, they got a white girl right on top of the box. But let's go even deeper because you're probably asking, how is this guy tricking women into giving him money?
I want you to listen closely because it might have something to do with his way with words. So what I'm looking for is a relationship. Like I'm not looking for nothing else besides that. I have everything money could buy. I have the Lamborghini. I have the G-Wagon. I have the truck in which I told my horses. I own three horses. Prince is the horse I ride. Can't enable our small horses. They're still getting older to be written and getting trained. The only thing that I don't have it, I believe, that's going to give me another chapter, is having the family, whether that's adoption, seragacy, vitro, natural, whatever the case may be, is having my own family dynamic. Why would natural be less? They should sit there like... Yeah, girl, the doctor said my penis broken all the way.
This man wants a family so bad, he doesn't care how he gets it. He's like adoption, seragacy, vitro, kidnapping, whatever. I just want a baby. I'm also looking to have another horse via seragacy or vitro or even natural, whatever. So he is fully committed to you, girl, but it does come at a cost. Well, good morning, babe. I just want to say a few things before I jump in the shower and start my day. First of all, it wouldn't be no me without you as of late. I just want to say thank you, that's what the whole purpose of this video was, was just to say, thank you, I appreciate you, I love you, I wouldn't be able to be in the position I'm in right now without your ass. And, you know, I definitely appreciate you. The last thing is that 3K, so I've got to come up with that shit, a sack.
Now, to be fair today, John, that is the nicest way I've ever heard someone ask for money. Like, roses of red, violets of blue, girl, I'm trying to get $3,000 from you. And look, some of the people he dated did have their own reasons for being with him. Did you buy it at any point? Personally, for me, I noticed he wasn't on the roster very quickly because I feel like that's the first thing you should do. So I... Why was it in the story right there? Because I live for the plot, and so I do like to entertain things, unfortunately. All right, all right, in her defense. If I was getting DMs from a fake football player who moves like a car wash balloon, and has the business practices of a Nigerian prince, I'd want to see where this goes, too.
So that's Day-Jean Love, and I'll be honest. I don't think this man should go to jail. I think his punishment should be having to actually play for the 49ers. Yeah, yeah. Make him a white receiver. Put him out there at his helmet and bathing suit. His head will come all the way over. But maybe I'm into a D. Just after the one week, I'm back, Gia Sorentino will be joining the show. And we're back. Streaming on Peacock. May I present to you the award-winning staff of the Toledo Truth Teller. Slightly, it's Joss something loose. I like that. The certified fresh series returns. Your boss, you always like that, so ours is just an unknown of this as men. We're the stars, everybody.

My guest tonight is a best-selling author and staff writer at the New Yorker, whose latest piece is called our plastic surgery nightmare. Please welcome GeoTolentino! Thank you for having me. Thank you for writing me. You're a happy append. You're a happy append? Yeah, there we go. Thank you for writing a New Yorker article that didn't take me six months to read. You're so welcome. You're safe there. Let's start with your 2019 New Yorker article, which coined the phrase, Instagram face. And then we'll get into your latest piece. What is Instagram face? So I think it was about a decade ago where probably I was not alone in noticing that kind of all of the most visible women on the internet had started to morph into the same face. This kind of singular thing was emerging. It was a face that intrigued me because it was a face that seemed to have been kind of contoured by the algorithm.
It was dictated. It was a face that people would click on and like. And people were kind of getting it slowly on mass. And so I wrote about it because it seemed then like the most visible fulcrum of this larger thing that was happening in which the corporate incentives of trillion-dollar social media companies were beginning to seem to many people like deeply personal desires. And all of this was just written on the face in a way that was interesting. Well, this piece, the latest piece you call our plastic surgery nightmare, but it really focuses on the face. What is it about the face? I'm looking at your face right now. You're looking at my face. If you have a face, listen to this answer. Why is that the focal point? So historically, as far back as ancient times, we love looking at faces. We love looking at each other's faces.
We're New Yorkers. We like to sit on the train and stare at each other. The face. You can gather an enormous amount of human information about someone. Their temperament, their life. Their selfhood. Their soul. The faces, the portal through which all of this information is given to us and that when we love looking at each other and reading each other's faces. And in the last few years, it has started to feel to me more that the face is being kind of denuded of human information and is serving on social media, especially through our phones more as a kind of a disciplinary guide. And kind of a consumer manual. People's faces, they're beginning to look kind of nuts. Yes. People's faces are looking nuts. Look, you obviously stare at people's faces on the subway. I stare at their cabs. For Jets, tattoo. You just don't get as much information from someone's calf. No. What's strange about what you're saying, the face is this portal to our soul, to our...
Experiences, to our adventures, to our loves, yet what everyone's doing to them now is they're eliminating all that stuff. Yeah. And the thing, you know, the thing that is interesting to me is that these faces are ostensibly becoming more beautiful, right? All of these, the face, the version of Instagram face that's emerging. I mean, people are also... Things have escalated, right? People are fully getting kind of head transplants, you could say. People are just ages are being invented that have never been invented before. Like these wild things are happening. But what's striking to me is that, you know, when I say the face that people have now, like we can all probably picture that face, right? It's not... It's a face that the algorithm, that Instagram, that TikTok, that social media has deemed beautiful in so far it is extremely profitable. Right. But it is not a face that humans take pleasure in. It's... I mean, it's laughable sometimes when you see the face. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that kind of...
That kind of flickered. Yeah, but what has changed in plastic surgery that's made this more... Is it more approachable for everyone to change their face or is it just that we are seeing so many more images than we used to? I used to go the grocery store with my mom when I was a kid and I would see three magazines, right? And you would see the women on the magazine and that was kind of it. But now, a kid has seen thousands of images. Right. Has plastic surgery become more approachable to everybody too? Well, 10 years ago, when people were starting to get an Instagram face, it was still kind of a coastal elite and celebrity thing, the sort of injections that would make everyone look like a hybrid of Kim Kardashian, Emily Radikowski, Bella Heddy, Kendall Jenner. You know, this singular, honey, and Michael Hustle, yeah. That wasn't a joke. Why is everybody laughing about that? And now, it's democratically available. You can corner your injections. You know, it's quite democratically available. But it's part of this larger thing where you were saying,
what has happened with phones and the sort of larger regime of surveillance and broadcasting that again is this enormous profit center for tech companies that hate us. Right. They put ordinary people in the position of what only celebrities used to be before, where the face and the body are a potential source of profit, and that they could be looked at at any time, recorded at any time, broadcast, and that the better they look, the more money they would make you. This is, we used to kind of formally recognize this as a demented way of living. And now, it is kind of the universal one for anyone with a phone and an instinct to self-broadcast, which is most young people in many of us, maybe. Right. People are being more transparent about saying, this is what I had done. I mean, you'd write about this in the article, tweeting out, this is what I had injected. I shuttered at that. But is this transparency better for us? What's your thought on that? I wrote this in the piece, but I think of, you know, it's a bit of a recursive circular,
whirlpoolish nightmare where it's like, you know, oh, it's good that people are disclosing so that we will know what they do so that it can be more approachable for us to do too. Right. And then on and on and on and on. It reminds me a little bit of kind of a land acknowledgement. It's when a celebrity acknowledges plastic surgery. It's like acknowledging the unjust system that you are about to perpetuate just a little bit more. Right. And this isn't just women. Yes. So feminism has won. Men are now obsessed with beauty and looks. Yes. Talk a little bit about looks maxing. Truly, this was something I did not know about. Believe it or not. How is this infiltrated male culture? When I was in my 20s and I was working for all the feminist media that no longer exists, it seemed to me that- Take that, man. Who really won now? But it's-
But it seemed to me that there was this broader impulse to designate everyone as beautiful as if it was politically important. Right. And I remember at the time in my 20s having this feeling inside me, it's like no, no, no, no, no, it should matter less. Like actually it's de-escalation that would be- that would free us. Right. It would be- And so what we have now is not that, you know, the- the- the previous decade of more mainstream feminism, freed women from beauty work, you know, de-escalated the situation, it merely escalated for men. So now everyone is living in the nightmare. Right. That has existed for women since, you know, like mass commercial beauty industry. What you write about is these men, one of them hitting his jaw with a hammer. Let's not say his name. Let's not say- I don't- yes. But what's sad about it to me was you used to care about your looks so you could try to have sex. That was the whole thing. What happened to that? That was the whole thing. I know.
Maybe I'll work out so I can- I can get laid. But now it's- maybe I'll- I'll deform my face so I'll get more likes. So I can get more Twitch streams followers. Yes. Whatever we call it on Twitch. Yes, it's strange to think- it's strange to be looking back. Those men out there, sex feels good. I mean, it is so strange to be having this discussion in 2026 and thinking like, what happens and just want it? Like, these are not pure, these are not noble impulses, right? Yes. Like, me wanting to look at a beautiful person because it feels good. Right. Because it brings me pleasure. You know, us wanting to become more attractive so that we can have more interesting sex with a more interesting person. Right. Like, it's wild that that now feels kind of- it feels quaint and beautiful. Yeah. Because- yeah, because that's the thing. The regime of the- of the- looks-maxers, which grew out of a reactionary right wing, men's rights- Right. In cell kind of conglomeration that rose on the internet last decade, it is- it's kind of-
it configures beauty as something you do to- to display dominance. Right. Sex is something that maybe can be acquired as a commodity, but it's the way they speak about it is not pleasure. It's not human pleasure. Like, the whole concept of human pleasure that our bodies and our faces and each other's bodies and faces, bring us just as people existing in the world, it's- it's absent entirely from the new regime of this kind of- the only- the only- the only one that is- the only entity that is loving it is the phone. Is the phone? Well, that's where this all either started or leads to- I mean, caring about beauty and looks didn't start with the cell phone. Certainly not. But it's hard to not read your work and not get more and more angry at the phone or tech. And I wonder how we arm ourselves to be better or to deal with that in a more optimistic way. I think, you know, the- there's a way that this is manifesting really specifically with AI, right?
If you ask the- the consequences of all of the most visible women on the internet having the same face has become really obvious, where if you ask an image generator to show me a normal woman, they will show you a white- thin conventionally beautiful young woman with Instagram face, right? AI through that framework, through that- you know, through- through that structure of seeing, if you are not optimized and beautiful, you are scarcely human and you scarcely exist. Right. And I think that- Let's f*** up. And I think what we can do is we can- we can- we can strive at the very least. I mean, we both have children. And we- and I think about this with them, it's like I, you know, they're going to get lost in the sauce. We all get lost in the sauce. But one of my few real hopes for them is that they retain the ability to look at the world and other people, including themselves in it, and see them the way that a human would see them, and not the way- not the way that a phone would.
And something as simple as that, kind of excising the phone vision within ourselves seems worthwhile and fun. Yeah, I mean, let's try to live- the phone is an amazing tool. I mean, you can- you can order a car, you can order food, you can transfer money, you can- I mean, f***, how do you even parent without a phone now? Like, my school is sending me updates. The WhatsApp group is- I like- I don't- I didn't see that I'm staying off my phone. Yeah, exactly, but- It's really scary, and I think it's really helpful. I know- I know I've called your work scary a few times. It's meant to be a compliment because it should be waking us up to potentially what- what we are dealing with. I want to talk about Mar-a-Lago face for a second. Because- It's so beautiful. They're all looking like- The same robot. Yeah. Like, it's strangely- it's strange that our president of the United States lives in this place, and all the women are having this robotic face, and I can't help but think- Not just the women, Matt got- Not just women, yes, sorry.
Don't leave him out. Don't leave him out. Don't leave him out. But it also has this relationship with tech, like the- the humans are becoming the robots. I just wanted to say that. Well, I- I enjoy Mar-a-Lago face, because I do take an enormous amount of human pleasure in it, because it is quite funny to me. Yes. It's- it's an amazing exemplar of gender-affirming care and administration that is opposed to it. Love that. And- And we love- you know, we love to see them support gender-affirming care. Yes, yes, yes. And it's also, you know, it- it- it- Mar-a-Lago face- it's almost- it almost feels quaint to me now, because these days, you know, people can get six-hour facelifts and come out looking exactly like they did 35 years ago. Wow. Mar-a-Lago face is just so profoundly artificial looking. Yeah. That it's like, oh, this is actually beautiful. You're showing the work, you know? Right. At this point, I appreciate that. Right. And it kind of bears the same relationship as I wrote to, you know, the Mar-a-Lago face- there's the same relationship to reality that the administration does in general.
Yes. And so it- it's all very fitting and coherent. Um, lastly, can- are we so far in that it's impossible, or can we change our beauty standards to appreciate more human flaws, wrinkles, scars, receding hairlines? You know, you watch a movie from the 1940s, all the men, it is receding hairlines. They almost look more handsome now to me. And- And I'm just- maybe I'm saying that because it's going. But- But- Can- can we- can we change some things? I think- I think that following the sort of access of pleasure, just our deep human physical instincts for pleasure as- as viewers, but also as producers, will get us really far, you know, I think we all- we all watch movies from the olden days, such as the early 2000s. And- And we see beautiful people with beautiful faces that are just actual faces, and we feel that it feels better than watching a lot of faces now.
And I think we can follow, like, that's the way out. People don't- people don't like what's happening to faces. You can- Like, if you say to anyone, like, isn't it- it's kind of nuts what's happening to people's faces. Everyone knows exactly what you're talking about instantly. Right, yeah. We want- I think we have to remind ourselves as the entire AI sort of regime wants to dictate that whatever is human is inferior for being imperfect. Yeah. I think we just have to remember that for a very, very long time we believed that actually it's our imperfections that make us interesting and human and worthwhile. And we know that about our friends, we know that about our partners, we know that about our children. Yes. And I think we can know that about strangers and people we see through our phones too. I hope. I hope anyone under the age of 21 is hearing this saying, our imperfections, that- that is what makes you interesting and special and someone that you want to be and hang around. That's my opinion. Yeah. Thank you so much for being here. You're welcome. Our plastic surgery nightmare is available to read at thenewyorker.com GeoTolentino!
