Why don't you tell me what was going on? What do you think I meant by here we go? I didn't hear you. See headphones on my head? Come on now.

A buddy Matt Derrick's here, brought to you by our friends again, asked for and concrete. Don't contact her. All things parking lot, all things paving. Don't forget that seal coating. Cool weather's coming later this week. You better get on the calendar if you're not. It might be too late already. Go to ganasphalt.com. That's ganasphalt.com. And get on the calendar today Kansas City's best when it comes to making sure you've got a beautiful parking lot. Smooth. No problems. It's gan asphalt and concrete. I'm on it ganasphalt.com. How are you? Mr. Matt Derrick. I'm doing very well. I was just thinking, you know, Curtis could just say Derrick in a few different impersonations and then Matt and I could sing some air supply for you when we phone. There you go. That's right. I just always like the Matt. Matt. That's my favorite. So. Well, so we watched the Chargers Charger. Boy, they love the Charger, don't they? They do. And we watched the White Out get traded that some people thought would be a good fit here in Kansas City. They're at there. Marvin Harrison Jr.

To the Texans. I think it's way too much to pay way too much. They're partnering in with his old college quarterback. That's cute. I think he's got ability, but I just don't ever see him really open. Right? Like, and it is that schematic that the OC stinks. I don't know. I mean, Nico Collins is a complete tease. Like one week. He's, oh my God, I got a true number one white out here. And then he's on the eye, you know, then he misses a game and he's on the injury report. And he limps through a game like, I don't know what to think. I don't think he's going to a place where they just really get it. But I wouldn't have given that. I, so he asked me what I'd give. I said, maybe if my OC said I can make it work, I, I know what he needs. I'd give a fifth. They gave a second and a sixth and gave up a seventh. You know, they got, I'm sorry, they gave a second and a sixth and they got a seventh with him.

That's just ridiculous. Yeah. I mean, and it allows the Texans to, well, I guess the recordals rather the Cardinals can say, oh, well, according to our chart, we got first round value back because we got, we got that, that move up. But well, I mean, listen, when you give up a second, the second is in 28. It should be pointed out. So if they don't turn it around this year, it's not this year's second. I mean, that would be an easy sell. But I actually think they will turn it around to at least mediocrity this year. But if they're going to crash, it will be next year. I think that will actually work worse for them as far as how high the pick is for the Texans. I think the Cardinals may have played that perfectly in getting the higher second round pick next year because I do think they're going to kind of fight the mediocrity this year. So I'm trying to come out from under some cap issues. They got to pay the quarterback now as well unless they're going to put on him. If they put on him, they're definitely going to be taking a step back like Bravo Arizona. I mean, like I was out, like I said, five rounds ago before this conversation, what

happened? But that's the going rate for getting a wide receiver. So I don't think we're seeing a wide receiver come in, are we? I mean, again, we go back to the the Tyree kill discussion and possibility. But you know, when you're first moved to replace Ty Quant is just to bring back Justin Watson on the practice squad. Pretty much tells me you're going to roll with what you have. And again, I'm not convinced that what they have is is a whole lot worse than what they could be bringing in. I mean, again, we've never seen a wide receiver that comes in and puts up premium value for Andy Reed at mid season acquisition. So I mean, unless you're and unless you're going out and you're bringing in Justin Jefferson or something, you're not going to get a guy that I think is going to move the needle this year. The fix is not going to be available. No, I mean, it's not walking through the door. I mean, and again, the only reason that Tyree wants to come here is that this is the only offense. He knows that he knows that he can put up some numbers and be of any value. It may be the only team that's even inquired because the Drew Rosenhouse.

Played his card and went, OK, the chiefs got people down. I'm going to I'm going to get a bidding. We're going crickets. Yes, nothing happened. No. I mean, hey, you can always rustle up some competition to appear there just to make everybody feel better. And if there's anybody in the league that can do that is Drew because Drew can just call up some friendly GMs and say, Hey, yeah, can you just leak that you're interested in Tyree? So we can all save some face here and everything. But again, we've discussed it. And I say it's again and again, we're talking about the same things. I don't know what kind of shape that Tyree kill is in. I don't even know if if once he's available and thinks that he's ready, he's really ready. Is that going to be in November, December, January, November of 2027? I don't know. Tank Dell is just coming back had a very similar injury is younger than Tyree. And he's been 21 months out from surgery on that dislocated knee. So I get it. Everybody's different and Tyree is a different kind of dog. But hey, it's I just with Andy and his offense, let's face it, you want to go into a season

with your receivers, those are your receivers. Nothing's going to change. The only thing that can change is you. And that means, Hey, does that mean you just go with what you have and you go with multiple tight insets, you take advantage of the running bags you have, you take advantage of guys like for Shard Smith as best you can. Yeah, I mean, you scheme things up and you try to get creative. But thinking that there's a number one or number two receiver that's going to walk through the door and just dramatically change this offense, wake up, it's time to go to school. Well, what do you think the deal, whether it's a chief or anybody else is going to be for Tyree Kill? I would imagine Bay salary of vet minimum plus a bunch of incentives tied to playing time for sure, probably tied to post season success. That's about it. Maybe some numbers too, but I can't imagine, especially with the chief situation, you know, it's not going to, the chiefs aren't going to say, okay, we'll throw a $12 million base at him, even pro-rated, say it's six million. They don't have the cap for that right now without renegotiating somebody and restructuring

somebody. I know they would prefer not to do that. They're probably going to have to restructure somebody in any way if they get a rash of injuries. But I mean, is there any, I mean, would you, how much would you throw a Tyree to bringing back? No market for him. So I would start a base, I'd start a vet minimum and work from there. Yeah, I just, I think what he's going to want is not going to match up with what the chiefs will be willing to give. I mean, that's the thing. I don't know that Tyree wants to accept the deal like that, even if it's for a short term, rest of the season, just to go out and prove himself. Yeah, I, I need to see the guy play. Yeah. Before I put any real money, I mean, and, and you know, they're like, oh, well, Tyree kill him. Like, why would you sign him if he can't play right now? Yeah. What is the point of paying him to rehab? Yeah. And we've seen some videos. I haven't seen videos I've been playing football on a football field. I mean, I've seen running on a beach and I've seen a lot of people run on beaches. So true. And most of them don't make good football player. See them splash around in his pool.

There you go. So, you know, if that's what you need, they're going to play in water polo. I mean, and I'm, I mean, I've just and Watson's a good dude, smart guy, obviously. And he knows the offense inside and that. And Andy reads right. He can probably glance at the playbook and have it all, all the changes down to about two or three minutes. But I also know that the last time I saw him in a playing field in Kansas City, he was half step slower than he used to be. Yeah. And he has to be. And he looked like another half step slower. And he hasn't been on a practice field since August. So yeah. You know, there's, you can help him this week. That's a great glass move. Right. Yeah. Exactly. It's all gone horribly wrong. I think the question is, do we see Cyrus Allen? And that's where I think that there is a likely scenario that you will. And because the one thing that they say a lot and they've said it with Cyrus is, you know, that you want to put, make sure you're putting them in the good position to play and all these things. Remember, I mean, with the way that the cheese were playing the first half of the season, I mean, they weren't always running the 13 personnel.

There's a lot of, you know, two wide receiver sets. Hey, they practice that too. So think about the wide receiver reps that they're getting in practice. If Cyrus Allen was getting more than two or three first team reps in practice during the week, it wouldn't stun me. I mean, you look at where he is on the roster. And even with the, you know, they only got two practice squad wide receivers. He's even one of their best scout team wide receivers. I mean, he on scout team more than he obviously is out there with the ones. So they're not going to take a scout team wide receiver and put him out there for 15 reps, especially if he's only getting two or three. Well, he's going to get more snaps now, obviously, without Taekwondo being there. Question to me will be this week about Rasheyef. He's back fully if he is a non participant, if he's not non participant. I mean, Cyrus Allen's getting number three reps, all of a sudden. I mean, he's going to be basically getting Taekwondo in reps. So there's no reason why he can't be out there in a game in multiple packages that a lot of snaps if he's your number three receiver, because he's obviously going to have to practice a lot this week.

Yeah. Are they making a mistake if they don't get him more involved? I feel like they're missing an opportunity for sure, whether it's a mistake or not. But from what we saw during training camp, I mean, this looked like a guy who had things down. I mean, was he perfect that he looked like he had every play down and know what we're supposed to be? Not 100% no rookie does, but was he doing the smart things? He looked like he was making adjustments the right way that my homes was expecting him. He worked well with multiple different quarterbacks too, which I think was a good sign. There was a lot to like there. So I mean, I think you're missing an opportunity because based on seeing both these guys on a field, I think Cyrus Allen's the better wide receiver right now than Jalen Royals. And I have an entirely understood why they've been giving royals more opportunities. So who do you think we're going to see more Jalen Royals though? He's going to be going to pick up the snaps. I mean, if it's based on and Russia, I think it's a big part of it. I mean, if Russia is working this week, then it's got to be one or the other that's

going to get the bulk of the work. And based on what we've seen at this point, I would assume that they're going with Jalen Royals, but I think I would be going to the Cyrus Allen. Yeah, it does feel like are we going to see Xavier worthy? Get more of the the deep balls. I mean, he caught a deep one. Even was a contested catch, although it was definitely a contested catch. It was a contested catch with a DB that didn't know where the ball was, who just kind of threw his arm in there as opposed to going up and he didn't just outweep and snatch a ball and take it away. But it was a contested catch. I don't want to take anything away from him. Can he get the kind of separation it takes to get the ball down the field to him? He can. It's just whether or once again, he can get on the same page as my homes because they've always had that problem because and Nick Jacobs on our podcast on 41 is the mic has done a really good job in the past to break in this down about how, you know, especially the first couple of years in his career worthy. He just had trouble modulating his speed so that he ran consistent routes and was always

running the same way so that my homes and he could actually get on the same page as my homes knowing, okay, here's how fast he's running. Here's how I have to throw the ball. Well, worthy seems to just vary his route speed a little bit and obviously his rookie year he tended to wander. He wandered too close to the the sideline and that led to the ball. My homes anything of leading him out of bounds because he was too close to the sideline. I think he's better than that. And obviously I like the fact that he made the contested catch because the last time that I saw him make a play like that was back in training camp and he made the catch got up and then missed a couple of days of practice because that shoulder was bothering him. If he can survive contact like that and get the confidence that he's okay because I felt like that game against the Raiders was the first time I've seen him all season look like he was playing with almost no fear. I'd seen a guy who was playing with a lot of fear that he was going to hurt that shoulder again. It looked like he was a wide receiver because it wasn't just that the one deep ball the contested he got. He got behind a guy early on in the game and my homes overthrew him.

That maybe goes back to your modulating your speed was he not going as fast as my home started going. But he made two two other plays where you're like okay that's a nice route. That's a nice route and ability to maneuver. So to me he's the only guy that I can think of that's on that roster that can do what type one Thornton did. I mean you're almost if you either have to put him in that role and I said last night you put him in the hot water and see if he lathers up you know give him a shot. This is a game you might be able to use if you've got opportunities. Do we need to dump that? I don't think so. I'm not sure where that the lathering up that's an old phrase. You know people on hot water see if he lathers up or if he jumps out that I had heard you know the whole you know you don't know what you have in a tea bag until you put in the water. Yes that was a one of Roosevelt. What's about tea bag women women that was don't know what you got until you put them in hot water. Yes. I mean I'm pretty sure somewhere there should have been a dump button pressed in here

but good observation Max. Thank you. Where's your mind? Well you go back to lathering up here. Sure. And it should talk. Oh too sure. You say. But see if he can do that and then you you kind of I think have to go almost money ball. Try to recreate you know the rest of it in the you can't find Taikwan Thornton can you recreate him in the aggregate and maybe that's the first step is to just to move worthy into that spot and then you got to fill it in elsewhere. For those watching on the video that's the best is like the hand gesture. The hand gesture. Yes. Chris Pratt becomes involved in this in some way. Yes this is true. This is true. And then start taking names and throwing them up on the on the board. That's the best part of that scene by the way how those magnets always just stuck in the right. I wonder how many times I had to shoot that scene to get those magnets that the land in the right spot. You know who you should ask John Dorsey. Love talking about the personnel magnets. My favorite was when he pops them.

Who's that pops me. That's Pete. Yeah. He's out the cap. That's Pete. And the one the one thing from Andy's press conference today that I thought was of actual interest was well there was the whole almost six minutes of it. So yeah. It was it was it was not his best stuff today. So he wasn't it was a good mood. It seemed like that decent mood. I mean well rested. It wasn't a lot of electrifying information in there today. But when asked about you know what might change for the role of Xavier worthy and his he really said not much and you know because everybody moves around a little bit but basically they'd settled into a pretty good rotation where Taekwam was your ex Xavier's the Z and Rossi was playing in this lot doesn't mean they don't move around a little bit but that was the bulk of it. Well I mean you're not going to I don't think you're going to move though you know worthy to the to the X. I don't think he's going to step into that more likely I think you'd probably see more of Rossi. But who else can you put into that X role that's got speed honestly maybe nobody but I mean

is Jalen Royals then all of a sudden the deep ball receiver. Yeah. I mean I don't know. I mean that's something and that's why I have it with you on the brands break glass in case of emergency. Justin Watson's a deep ball exit this point in his career anymore either. And I really feel like the only guy that's going to take the top off so to say is worthy and it's long overdue. Yeah it's time. I mean he's three years in and being going to do it now he ain't ever going to do it. Right. Yes I think I think this how they handle that's going to be a referendum on whether he's got a shot at a second contract and could be a long term guy but yeah I mean I think this is a great weekend to try that. Right now I mean he's on McColle Hardman Avenue. I think he'd like to be on McColle Hardman Avenue. You know that he's there? No. Because at least McColle Hardman could I mean he I think he was a little a little tougher here and those jets weeps a little better. He seemed to have a little more maybe at least as good the ability to get to get open to

make some plays at least in the first couple of years. I'm maybe I'm overestimating what McColle Hardman was but are underestimating what worthy's been but I mean what would McColle Hardman was here Tyra Gill was here too so he didn't you know he didn't have as many probably as many opportunities as worthy has had his time here. McColle Hardman wearing a chief's uniform. This catch is 59 in his third year in 21 also was high for yardage 6.93. Six touchdowns receiving his rookie year was his high water mark 26 for 5.38 and six touchdowns. He's 21 yards of catch that year 14 the second 12. 12. 8. Yeah. It did slow down. I mean he became more and more of a gadget guy and less of a guy that they could get deep into your point you know Tyra Gill was there in 1920 and 21 right.

So he was he was eroding even during that time but I think Xavier were these I think he's McColle Hardman's a good cop right. Yeah sure. But question is is there more and now there's no one standing in his way and by the way when Ty Quan Thornton is standing in your way you're failing. Absolutely. Because I like Ty Quan Thornton we all like Ty Quan Thornton and he does have the pedigree of being about a second round pick originally or was he a first he was a second being a second round pick in the Patriots. So I mean there was a pedigree coming out but let's not forget he was released. By a team that always needs wide outs and so if that's the guy that you can't get around there's an issue. So I mean listen you should have this drop. So it's time to take the diapers off. That's Dick Vermeel's line for Win Larry Johnson had to step in for Priest Holmes. That's this moment in time right now for Xavier Worthy. Yep. Number 50 overall in 2022.

Okay. So yeah. Just need somebody to come out and say that Xavier Worthy is the real deal and we'll be all ready to roll. He was taking four spots ahead of Skymore and two spots ahead of George Pickens. What are you trying to do? What's your point noting where he was around him? You're trying to PTSD for chief fans? Electric year for second round receivers. Well pickens is good. He's just a problem child. Exactly. When you were you were grabbing Roshy Rice. What? The next year you're like all right we skipped on the problem child last year. Let's get after it. Let's get this this won't blow up. Two shade. Thank you. I mean by all accounts Roshy is much more likeable than than George Perkins is. So or even George Pickens or George Pickens excuse me.

Gosh. It's pretty bad when I have to correct you on name. Yeah. When they like with nothing down the neutral one. You and I I can I can give you a run for your money on names. Maybe watch us Jim jump stand into the den of lions. Why stay here safely in the helicopter? That was Marlon Perkins. Maybe it was Jack Perkins. What was Marlon, wouldn't it? Yeah. Do you ever watch that show? I did. Old show. Older ones. Wild Kingdom. Yep. Yep. The guy get out there with the animals and the old guy started it became too old to do it. It's like watch Jack jump into the. Hit him. Hit him. HIP APOTIMUS Why sit here safely in the helicopter? Boy that looks dangerous. You see the one's got him by the leg and is thrashing him about. Thrashing him about. Meanwhile I'm here again in the helicopter safe and sound. Boy that looks rough. Alright let's go Jeff. Let's get out of here. I mean that looks like one of the jobs I would like. The Marlon's job.

Yeah. Sitting up in the helicopter. Yeah. Exactly. Go get him. He's all yours. Yeah. I like that. Go get him Thunderdome. Jump into the pit of hippos. See what happens. We'll take a break. Come back more with Matt Derrick. He's brought to you by friends. It gave an ass fault and concrete. One contractor. All things paving. Alright the Twin Peaks. Enter the hour answer. What NFL team has gone the longest without a tie. Who is it the chiefs you like to do that sometimes? Nope. I thought I might need it in there. 1989 was their last tie game. There are longer than 1989. I knew it had been a long time. There are two teams that are expansion teams Jaguars and Panthers. Somebody wanted to have never had one but they haven't been around as long. It's impressive. So this team goes it goes back away. There are four teams that did not had not had one since the merger in 1970.

1967 New England then Boston Patriots. Wow. Wow. That's the last time they had a tie. It's been almost six weeks. Chiefs last tie, 87. 89. 89. Oh yeah. Martin. 10 at Cleveland. When Nick Lowry. When Nick Lowry missed three field goals in the game and Boston Patriots in what year? 1967. Wow. So they were tying games and after the Red Sox went to the World Series, they went, that's all we need. We'll just tie. Pretty crazy. And this is, I mean, that was obviously in a situation where you didn't have overtime. Yeah. I mean, overtime didn't come around till 74. They still didn't have another tie between 68 and 73. Did you watch who it was the Falcons, right? Falcons and Ravens. Like, is the 10 minute thing fair? I wondered about that. I hear people's the argument of, hey, if you don't get the ball, if you let a team go seven

minutes down the field, you know, that's kind of on you. Yeah, basically. Then why isn't it okay to, yeah, why do you have to have an extra possession? Exactly. I, because that's what we used to say. Stop them. Yes. You know, stop them. If you can't stop them, well, it's too much of an offensive game. Yeah. The flip side that would be, if you wanted to give the Falcons a better shot, you would say, okay, if both teams have had the ball once and you played a 10 minutes and you're done, but if one team uses up eight and a half minutes, then the other team gets the right that possession out as far as it goes. And if they don't, then it's done. I don't know how you do that timing wise. You know, when you would, the clock gets to zero, do you just keep going through the play? And then you say, okay, the rest of the rest of this possession is untimed. I don't know how that, how that would work. But that's the only way you could, you could fix that. I'm fine with it. I don't have any. Yeah. Yeah. Stop them. I agree with that theory. But for the people that were like, we'll go to each team's go to have a possession. Not really.

Yeah. You go down and take nine, you know, 59 to make a field goal. Take a field goal. Just make it 15. That's five more minutes. I mean, it's, it's, it has to be, after you've played 16, you're going to play 70, well, you can play 70, but they're not playing 75. Okay. We've, we've seen some, some games between some teams that I think ended up in the tie that you could have let them play for another half hour. I'm not sure if the one of them will discord. So yeah. Yeah. The other thing is, by the way, well, I'll get to that. I'll do that in a third segment. I get to some of the shenanigans that went on a college football, which amaze me. We're talking about the Kansas City Chiefs. Matt Derrick is with us, brought to my friends at Gan Asphalt and Concrete. Some contractor, all things parking lot, find my line at Gan Asphalt.com. Let's talk a little bit, Matt, about Josh Simmons. What do we think we're going to see Andy didn't want to get into it. Oh, guys aren't here. Don't have anything. We have them. Okay. Cause we're completely in the dark on Josh, till he shows up on Wednesday. We have no idea.

But that's how he handled it. What do you think we're going to hear on that front? They think it was for she too. Ah, the injury guys haven't seen them in a week. Oh, we're in here working. But I still get the sense that it's, it's week to week every week, whether he'll be out there on a Wednesday. If he's, if he's not out there on a Wednesday, that he's probably not going to be out there the rest of the week. Um, could this be the week? Yeah. But then again, I'd say the same thing last week and same thing next week, probably 50, 50 chance. It's just Josh rolls in this week and says he's feeling okay. They'll give it a shot. I still wouldn't expect him to play on Sunday. I mean, considering he hasn't practiced since August 17th, then I imagine they would probably give him two weeks to ramp up. But yeah, I don't think he's playing this week because I think he's got to practice and then be ready to play. And the question starts to become like, when are you going to go ahead and do surgery? I mean, I asked somebody finally, was it last week or the week before, was the week before that he mentioned bulging disc, right? Mm-hmm. Said, well, a surgery and option. He said not, not at this time. Right. Yeah.

Okay. Well, it's two weeks later. Like, that's the question on Wednesday. He's like, all right, Josh, he didn't get a practice. Is surgery an option? It's two weeks later and he has not gotten on the field on something that you initially were thinking that he could be ready in less than four weeks from the start of the year. And now we're, we'll be going into week six and he's still not practicing. And this is, I mean, this is the complicated thing because it's not just, obviously when they first saw this, the chiefs, I mean, remember, I mean, Andy Reed was still talking about this and this was after Josh Simmons stopped practicing with this back and Andy Reed himself said, and nothing, nothing that's not day to day, everything's Nixon bruises. I mean, they did not consider whatever Josh Simmons has to be serious. He had the second opinion from Robert Watkins out in Los Angeles was not considered to be serious. Was the Los Angeles other Seattle? No, he went on to LA. LA, yeah. And so, you know, it's, you had the expert in the NFL and spinal and back injuries who've

said, hey, you know, surgery was not recommended at that time. Can you have surgery? Sure. I mean, everybody's got to, you know, want it. Play, team has to want it. Chief player has to what if you have surgery, though, it's in the season. He's out. I mean, there's not coming back later this season from a back surgery that would absolutely end it. So I can see from both the player side and the team side why they're hoping that rest and rehab and all those things will eventually get him back onto the field. And if it's true that he's truly weak the week and it's just, hey, does he feel good enough that week? Then clearly, it would seem to suggest that the injury is not bad enough to require surgery. So it's an enigma. There's no doubt about it. Did Colliel Benson grow into being a legitimate starting left tackle? I think he could develop into being a really, really good high end right tackle. But I think that's always going to be his better position. I think it's more natural for him.

I mean, can he be a, what he is right now, a placeholder at left tackle? Yeah. But I still think his better positions on the right side. Right now he grades 42nd of 72 offensive tackles. There's 64 starting tackles and he struggles in the past protection. And that's the weird thing because I mean, there's some stats that are going to say, oh, well, you know, he doesn't allow that many pressures. So he's actually been playing pretty well. But well, that's the key. There's just a couple of like savvy moves that are beating him. But overall, he's good. And once he's seen all those and has a plan for it, then he should be okay. Like, you know, it's just a matter of him getting the experience. Or are we talking about a guy who's routinely just beaten by, you know, 20% every play. And like, he just isn't physically gifted enough to handle it. Yeah. I don't, I mean, I don't think it's that.

I mean, I think a big part of it, I do agree. I mean, I think what he's been doing through the first four weeks has been remarkable because it's a position that he's never really played. And, you know, I mean, some offensive limo will say, hey, it's easy to flip sides. It's, you know, in some some will say, well, basically, it's like you're doing everything backwards. It's just like, you know, driving on the other side of the car and trying to do everything. I've done that. Takes an adjustment. Well, for some people it takes an adjustment. Some people it don't. Maybe he's one of these guys that just don't take, it doesn't even be adjustment. I still keep wondering what's going to happen when he, the Denver's going to be an interesting, the first big test because that's going to be the first time that he sees a team a second time. And that I will wonder, hey, their personal experience seeing him with begins their personnel since seeing all the rest of the film. If that's going to give them some insight in how to attack him. I mean, I think he's done pretty good job to so far as teams have adjusted to him, but I doubt that he's also seen the full adjustment. There's going to be a book on him and then that's going to be really dependent on how

well he holds up after that. Yeah, I mean, I think there's a couple of ways to look at it. There's, are we looking at it as, you know, an undrafted, unsigned post draft rookie free agent? It's been remarkable. Okay. Are we looking at it like, okay, backup tackle? Your swing tackle? Is he, I think he's been adequate. Yeah. I feel better with him than one, you're Morris, don't you? Oh, yeah. Well, you ran through a lot of swing tackles last year and I think he'd say he's better than all of it at this point. That's a Polei, Chugodrick. You take him over anybody. Yeah. I mean, I think my hope is that just, you know, the problem in the past protection has been like, he needs the experience because the height, the weight, the length, all that says he should have been drafted. But obviously he's at some moments where they set him up pretty easily and get by him pretty easy and those quick pressures of the problem. Now, I'll say this, the interior could be better too. They haven't been at their best.

No. And yet here they set it for enough. Exactly. It's, it's pretty remarkable for that standpoint. And the only thing that has really worked has been the run game. You know, this, this offensive line, I think they're opening up just enough of a hole for Ken Walker to take advantage of it and Ken Walker then does what he does. You give him three yards. He'll, he'll get the other three to seven, 10, 45 on his own. Yeah. All right, let's take a break. We'll, uh, ask Matt about his Missouri Tigers. Uh, we'll talk a little coaching as well. Uh, we'll do that next here in the program. The ultimate, the autumn wind is a pirate. Is it, is that the song that goes with us? The luster ring in from C. Yes, the Raiders. Um, your Missouri Tigers won, Matt. Yeah. He gets the Texas A and M team that I think is dangerous. They can definitely play some defense. And I look ahead, a let down look ahead. So a trap game situation. Are you all in? Are they going to the play? Awesomath. It, this can't be a trap game because Austin Simmons and, and Lee are not going to let this

be a trap game. Uh, by the way, I want to correct something. He meant last week being it just just real quick. I just checked the son of the site. It was 27 second and, uh, second and sixth go into Arizona. I thought I'd saw on Sunday that it was a 28 second. Hmm. Does anybody? I'm looking here and, and if I just want to get that right because I made that mistake earlier, I know I saw on a crawl and I hadn't read it in a story and then I just looked it up and, and now I'm seeing that all the pictures are in 27 for Marvin Harrison, Jr. Straight. Hmm. What was your guys understanding? I thought it was 27, but I was not 100% certain on that all of it. 27. Yeah. I'm seeing all 27 too. Okay. I, there was a crawl on Sunday that had it being a 28. Maybe that was what was taken so long for it to finally get out. But, uh, so I just want to correct that.

Seven second and a seventh from, or a second and a sixth from Marvin Harrison and a 27 seventh was the deal. So if the Texans don't get it going, that could be a very high second two and seven for six. Yeah. And for some reason, the Texans did not want everybody to know that for some reason, even though basically everybody knew that he was going to the Texans. Yeah. Um, so anyway, there it is. Um, all right. So, um, you're back to your Missouri Tigers. Yeah. What do you think? Are they going to the playoffs? I think they have an excellent chance at this point. I mean, there's three games, three big games and you obviously have to win all the others. But between Ole Miss, Georgia and Texas, I mean, I think you probably have to win two of the three. I don't know. I mean, maybe one of the three if the one is the right. I mean, if you beat Georgia and lose the other two, it's not going to make any sense. But I don't think they have an excellent. I think they have a chance. But saying you got to win either two of those middle three, those two of the big three,

or win one of the three and get help, that's rough. I mean, I know I, I mean, I am Lucy and Charlie Brown with the freaking football. I always tell myself, I'm not going to believe I'm not going to have hope or anything of this nature. But I mean, I've been watching, I've been seeing, but watching Texas go along and everything like that. I think, I think my zoo matches up with it. I think they can beat Texas at home. I think they can too. Texas has not been impressive. They're paper tiger offensive. Yeah. I think Georgia's a pipe dream, but I think they could win this week and think they could be Texas. Not both. Might be asking too much, but I think it's, I just know what, what shameless is going to do this week. Well, I'm more of an Austin sentence. I think this game's bigger than him than it is turning that shameless. And what's the situation with Lacey? I think it's pretty big for both, but I do think that this A&M game regardless of what happens, that was an, that was taking a step. Yeah, because they're not used to coming off the top 10 opponent.

I don't think Florida is a top 10 team, but they had the number next to him and they didn't leave any doubt. They slapped him around. Come off that and have Ole Miss on the other side with an unranked A&M team. You know, it didn't hurt. It was Eli Hoff. I think you said, hey, they know what A&M had done to him in the past. So that probably helped. But still, these are young guys where I think it'd be really easy, like whatever coach we got them. And they won by three touchdowns. And it had a really good defensive performance and that's what everyone's been questioning. Now, I think, I have said a long, I don't think their quarterbacks very good at A&M and they lost their offensive coordinator so they've got some problems. But you still, that was the team in front of them and they handle business. They bottled them up too. I mean, I didn't have a letdown defensively of any sort. Yeah. So what do you expect against Ole Miss? I mean, this is the week I'm using my one time on this one. This is, I'm all in, throwing my one time chip in. This is the one I'm just saying, okay, they're going to get it done. Get all the bounces to go your way. I'm buying.

Do you mean all the bounces? I mean, Florida handled this team. I mean, maybe the SEC is what we talked about. Before we broke them though. Well. The SEC looks kind of like it might be Georgia and Alabama and a bunch of teams that are all kind of eaten for us. Yeah. I think it is. I mean, that's a big. Tucky looks better than we thought. Oklahoma handled Texas. Maybe Texas will be 11 and 1 or 10 and 2 and they'll prove to be better than we're giving credit. But LSU seems to be coming back to the pack and Tucky's rising up. Florida is rising up. We'll see. I mean, all of a sudden the Eli's, well, he's finally got a win against the team. With a winning record. Yeah, hold on. Let's make sure we can get Florida there and see. But this would be another opportunity. I don't think both Florida and Ole Miss are going up 500 in the SEC. So if he can get this, he should have that at least take care of. And the win of events against Florida, honestly, it reminded me a lot of that first win for

Gary Pinkle over the corn huskers. And after that, I wouldn't remember that. I mean, that kind of got him over the hump. So I'm happy after that, they started being able to regularly either hang with or beat teams that were ranked or ahead of them. And they were okay after that. I mean, most teams, especially at Mizzou's level, are not going to be like 500 against top 10 teams. You're just going to live with that. But once you get over the hump, it seems like, hey, you can hang with these teams for a little bit. Ole Miss is 108 in the country in total defense. So you can move the ball against him. And Missouri, Co-On Lacey was back last week, but he didn't have a lot of work load. So maybe he'll be fully back this week. But they've got guys now who can get out of the quarterback. And that seems to be the thing that he, like, drink, which is churning out past rushers. I mean, Hopkins is going to be a study.

He's only a soft boy. They've got two other guys. They've got guys who can pressure the pocket. And if they can pressure the pocket, they got a chance to score some points. And there's a reason why they're not moving that line is where it is. And Vegas is not completely sold on. There's also seen five and a half in some spots. Yeah. I think Vegas would probably put the line more like three and a half. I think the name recognition of Ole Miss is better over the last couple of years. The Missouri wasn't, I mean, Missouri was kind of Ole Miss a few years ago. You know, they had their 10 win seasons. That's kind of where Ole Miss has been, but Ole Miss getting into the playoffs last year gave them some swag, all the hubbub around Lane, Kiffin and all that. They probably carry a little more weight, but Lane, Kiffin ain't there. And I think we're going to see, you know, everything I never like promoting from within. Never. It almost never works. I think you'll just see slow deterioration of Ole Miss. And one of the things you, one of the ways we might see it is in this game against Missouri.

Very possible. And it is a battle for the quarterbacks. So I mean, it's a, yeah, I've got it right. You know, that should be fun. I mean, Mizzou is very good at making teams one-dimensional and half to throw the football, which is one of the reasons why I think they can match up well against Texas because I don't trust archmaning as far as I can throw him as a Texas fan, if I were a Texas fan. But I don't get me too wrong. I'm not going full board on Mizzou because I wouldn't bet on this game if my life depended on it. So I don't know what, you can't put money on the Tigers that I ever feel good about it. Yeah. They're breaking it down Ole Miss 111 against the run 82 against the pass out of 138. So it was Jamal Roberts. There you go. Yeah. I think it goes for two 40 again. Yeah, I think we'll be fine. Matt, thank you, buddy. We'll talk to you next week. Thanks, guys.
