Some rounds are about the score. Some rounds are about the cart, the crew, and the playlist. The Bushnell Wingman does both. It's a speaker that sticks to your cart with a magnet, plays your music all 18, and reads you the distance to the green at the push of a button. Front, center, back, on courses everywhere, right out of the box, loud enough for the group, smart enough for the golfer. It's the gift for the golfer who has everything, or the golfer who just wants a better Saturday, BushnellGolf.com. BushnellGolf, know the number. Your listening's KFI AM640, the bill handles show on demand on the I Heart Radio F. Good Thursday morning to you, Neil Svadre, and the morning crew with you. We've got new clay at the board and helping with producing today how are you, sir. I'm doing well. I'm wearing new pants today, and nobody has said that they like them. You know what? I was behind you in the hallway when we were walking down the hall, and I was thinking,
I like those pants. Those are nice. Thank you. They're bright red, and I'm making, I'm taking a risk today. Well, at least we don't smell them. Thank you. Thank you, Will. Will you do me a favor, buddy? Take off your headphones and walk over here. Okay. And give me a little spin while you. New clay has got new pants. I did not see them, but I'll be honest with you. I think I know the problem. Wow, you are taking a risk. They're, they're loose too. Yeah, Maggie. Yeah, Maggie, you could bring a couple of friends with you. Okay. Uh, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that's nice, but I'm going to tell you why people don't say anything. All right. Hold on, hold on. Because, uh, you know, you're sitting down. No one sees your pants, buddy. Ah, yes, that's true. I've, but Anne's not here today. I've had to print several things. Oh, who's a big boy? Look at you. I'll get over it. Yeah. And, uh, could not be here today.
So she pretty much just produces the show, um, wherever she is. I mean, she could be, I don't know, up in a spaceship being, uh, spirited away from this planet and she would still be producing the show this morning. She is in morning. Oh, why? Because Padres also has, they're out. Yeah, but she was planned to be out. No, she's the huge Padres thing. Yeah, but didn't she plan to be out today? Yeah, maybe she had a permanent. Oh, no. Wow. Says the Dodgers girl, poking at her. Good morning, Amy King. Mm hmm. Good morning. Good morning. Well, um, good and bad news for you then, right? Mm hmm. Yeah. So the Dodgers move forward. However, that means game five, uh, that series is not going to happen. Exactly. And I had tickets to game five. Mm hmm. But I say, you know, put them in lose sight or something. I mean, I don't know. I don't know. Yeah.
The game that never was. Yeah, almost was there. I almost went. Is good enough, right? Yeah. Okay. Sure. Uh, Will, how are you, sir? Good morning and doing, I'm doing well. I'm, I'm wearing the same pants I always do. I mean, I cleaned them, of course. I won't ask you. I want to ask you to come do a spin board. But I will tell you the what? KFI fashion show. Yeah. Pout, Pout, work it, work it duck lips and the, uh, mom of KFI executive producer, Michelle Cue brought in. What can only be described as a, um, as a bounty this morning of McDonald sandwiches. So they are in, uh, air mix. If anybody's hungry, get them while they're warm. And, um, at any time, that is a really nice thing to do, right? That's a very kind thing to do.
But it's even more kind when you think the cost of McDonald's right now, four hundred and seventy five dollars for six sandwiches. So please make sure you give her your love, um, very generous and kind of her. And it just hit the spot, you know, something about those, uh, uh, Egg McMuffins, you know, there's something addictive about them. Like you take a bite and you're like, oh, my God, I have to have another bite now. Now, well, because they're warm and they're, you know, and then, and then you have to do like a two to one ratio. Two bites of the sandwich, one of the hash brown. You got to mix it up. You got a little bit of the crunch in the potato. Um, when, um, my boy, Max was a little baby. I'd walk him down to the local McDonald's. I'd get a hash brown and I'd scoop the soft center ones out, the pale ones. And just put a little bit, you would numb, numb, numb, numb, numb to the point
where, you know, we were there all the time in the, uh, the women behind the counter would throw one in regardless. They'd comp me the little baby one for a little maxi for him to not on his little toothless self. Yeah. Still enjoys them to this day. Like that's like all hell order at McDonald's. Just get me one of those. Just hash brown. He does like just the hash brown sometimes. Their hash browns are good. They are very tasty. They are yummy for your tummy, as we say, on the fork of work. All right. Let's get to handle on the news with Amy King and me, Neil Savadra lead story. Nice. He's good. Here we are. Our president won't let Iran strike LA or San Diego. Not, not going to let that happen. You can't, you can't be the arsonist. And put out the fire and say you're a hero.
But I'm glad. Glad he added context to it. So president Trump told a crowd in Texas yesterday night. Of course, he's making the rounds before the midterms here. But the he said he would not allow Iran to a tax and Diego Los Angeles, which is nice because we have so many military bases, probably not good. Um, just to he said he, this is after two days after or so he made those off the cuff remarks. Uh, he says, uh, you want to see a horror show? You want to see problems? Let him hit San Diego, let him hit Los Angeles at the rally. Uh, he then assured the crowd. We're not going to let that happen. We protect our cities. We protect our country. San Antonio crowd cheered with the remarks. I'm going to say God on him that anything he says in front of a crowd that has come.
Expected so many questions. Not many answers. The World Health Organization says it does not currently have enough information from Russia to do a full risk assessment after a young woman died of what may have been the plague at a lab in Siberia. Dr. Tedros Adanam Geberiasis is the director general of the WHO. He says they have asked the Russian Federation for more information. The Russian Federation said, well, there's no case of plague recently reported in the southeastern Siberian area, but about 200 contacts have been placed in quarantine. Hmm. I know hard to get real information. Why not just admit to it out of Russia and I hit if we have any cameras out there, you're going to see one guy in a trench coat and an umbrella walking to that building and then walk out and everybody's going to be dead or sick.
That's how they do it in Russia. Like the poison tip umbrellas get in, get out, done. New information coming out. US has lost or sustained damage. To 81 military aircraft. So that's $3.3 billion in the Iran war. And this is from a congressional report. Now that's what happens in war. I expect there to be damage of anything that we use out in that area. I'm not sure what you compare it to. You know, I'm not sure what you put that up against to say whether that's a butt gun or not, but that's what war does. It breaks things and kills people. It's unfortunate. Mexican mafia right here in LA suspected Mexican Mexican mafia associate open fire on a vehicle in a neighborhood in Pomona sprayed it with more than a dozen bullets.
Attract shot it at a person who had allegedly been marked for death over a debt to the notorious prison gang. That shooting was in July of this year part of a larger murder conspiracy and extortion scheme that led to charges against nine people. The month's long investigation culminated yesterday when authorities arrested six suspects and served search warrants that along with earlier searches resulted in the seizure of about $200,000 in cash. Methamphetamine 11 weapons with missing or obliterated serial numbers commonly known as ghost guns. Nice to know the Mexican mafia is in town. La M.A. has been in town for some time. Interesting fun fact. The original logo for the Jesus Christ show and the symbol for La M.A. Very similar to where a head of security there at or was it cue upstate.
They he reached out to me many, many years ago and said, Hey, by the way, I said, it'll be changed. We'll move on from that. That's okay. What a good time. It's been though hanging out with the morning crew. As you know, we lost our board up and technical engineer yesterday, not from death. He's still alive. He just left us to go on to something else. So our first day without Kono, but it's all right. We have the ever weird and easy to question life decisions of new clay. Oh, yeah. As always. Oh, yeah. All right. Let's get back to handle on the news with Amy King. And me. So affectionately referred to by if you've ever heard this before, Petrus and money on our sister station, AM 570 LA sports, they refer to as Jeannie with the weeny in front of
her. And she laughs. She thinks it's hilarious. Jeannie bus, her siblings are going after her. They voted to sell the family shares of the Lakers. We filed a formal opposition to team governor, which is Jeannie Bass, their sister and her attempts to block the sale. This all went down yesterday was the latest calling Jeannie's petition legally and factually baseless in a statement that they gave the time. So it says while discussions among the siblings continue their focus remains on facilitating the proposed transaction and the trust's participation in it. People ensuring that all beneficiaries, including Jeannie are treated equally. Well, that would so said Jimmy Johnny, Jeannie Joey and Jesse bus. What a family. But I will tell you, I only met her once at a Petrus and money on their summer tour.
She seems absolutely delightful. I mean, you don't know somebody that way. But you just get you can tell if someone's putting on ares, which bugs me. Nothing bugs me. Worse. Just be yourself. You can be silly or joking about who you are. But you know, we got a good vibe. Yeah. She just did it. Still I, I mean, the lovely looking lady, effervescent, just, I don't know. Seem nice. I don't know anything about what's going on. I don't know where I do sports, but I hope they all work it out. Family stuff sucks once you become an adult. Well, yeah. And I was trying to figure out why they don't just say, fine, just keep it. Jeannie, because you're supposed to be part of the team for the rest of your life. Well, it's their shares. If they sell them are worth $2.2 billion. Yeah. It's, it's a money, money grab. And that's the way it always goes down. We're dealing with my mom as she gets older and sick.
It's harder to be by herself. Seven kids. And I, I have this theory about tribes. So and I was trying to explain this to my mom because we all have different ideas as to what it should be done. And it's, it's kind of parsed almost down the middle of the family. And I was explaining to her, we're tribal creatures. When you're under the same roof as kids, that's your tribe. You go to church together, you watch TV together, you eat together, that's your tribe. The minute you leave your household and get your new household, whether you get a spouse or a partner or whatever it is, you build your new tribe. And in building your new tribe, you have a different, you know, different morals or modified morals or ethos. And you build things differently and you can't put that back under the same roof again. Everyone has their own family belief system now. And I think that's what goes on with Jeannie bus and her family.
It's like she's going, this is about being a part of this team. And that's the most important part in the rest are going, you know what? I want to enjoy our money while I'm alive. And neither of them are wrong, per se. The law is going to decide that I suppose. Well, the boys in blue have moved on to round two, the LA Dodgers, when they're third straight, nationally division championship. So they move on now to the championship series against Milwaukee because Milwaukee beat San Diego knocked them out of the division series. So now it's on to the championship series, which gets underway Sunday in Milwaukee. So the Brewers have home field advantage advantage. And Neil's eyes just glossed over. He goes, Oh, God, they're talking sports ball again. No, you know what's funny is I actually what I was thinking was how crazy would that have been if it was San Diego. It would have been really cool. I think it would have been fighting in the hallway between anand me.
But yeah, but I the Southern California itself would be an interesting place to be if that had happened series. Yeah, I that's all that I was thinking about. All right, the Hershey's company, Dave added a new disclaimer to packages of Reese's peanut butter pumpkins. Why? Warning that the image on the rapper is not exactly what customers should expect to find inside because customers are are simpletons. They because they sued over this. Yeah, because it's a jackal lantern. There's actual cuts in the chocolate on the cover or the rapper and people, I guess are I'm going to sell you a punitive damages. Well, to say that the that the little blob of chocolate and peanut butter looks like a pumpkin is a stretch. Same thing with the trees. Oh, the tree looks like a butt plug. I mean, it's like right that's what you told me, nuclei.
Yeah, okay. So it's yeah, they don't look you want chocolate and you have to do chocolate in quotes now because the more of the holiday ones, I think are using less like actual chocolate. But that's what you should get mad about whether it looks identical. It's not a jackal lantern. People, it's not. It's a pumpkin. Matter of fact, it doesn't say jackal lantern on there. It says pumpkin. But how are you harmed that way? How are you harmed? My spirit. You know what? If I were them, I would just put, you know, cut your own face. Like do you want me to do what? No, no clay. Would you if you told me to man the power come to the dark side.
So yeah, they should just say that you can carve whatever the face you want in your pumpkin because it's not a jackal lantern. Some weather coming our way this weekend. I'm excited. I heard Amy King and Will earlier this morning on wake up call. You know, none of us want to see any problems, obviously, but I'll have a, I'll have just a tiny bit of El Nino this year would be nice. If that, if we could squeeze a little rain out of that, this isn't exactly that yet. But I guess it would be the precursor or part of it. Yeah. And it's supposed to be a heavy downpour. No, but it's what you said. It will hit everywhere a little bit. Supposed to move across Southern California. Yeah. That's what the forecasters are saying. We know what we should do. What? Let's start our own KFI team of storm chasers. And if we know the direction is going, we'll just all run or drive together in that direction and it will always be raining on us.
Okay. Well, we'll bring games and stuff. It won't just. We got a way to do that until gas prices come down. We'll still we'll steal Kono's car. He's not going to notice. He's going to be like, man, I got I'm not even working there anymore. And I'm still having to fill up every morning. It's all right. We'll figure it out back to handle on the news. Neil Savagra and Amy King. Here we go. Doubling down on immigration enforcement ahead of the midterms. Ice leadership apparently told agents to increase immigration arrest by a thousand more people daily. That would return it to a previous goal of three thousand daily arrests. I said recently been taking in around 2000 people a day across the US. A target officials say they wanted to sustain, but in a statement statement to CNN, a Homeland Security spokesperson maintained that there were no quotas or arrests under President
Trump and Secretary Mullins leadership. Ice has been supercharged to find arrest and deport illegal aliens from the US using every lawful tool available said the spokesperson. Oh, man, Port Nethia ramen. That's a lot of margaritas. She's going to have to drink while she's hiding from ice. She actually misunderstood. We're almost out of ice. And then yeah, she was drinking margaritas. Well, that was going down anyways. Just thought I'd take a shot. Judge orders Tennessee judge actually ordered the State Department of Corrections to preserve all evidence related to the botched execution of death row inmate, Christopher Pike. There, you know, this is filed by Pike's legal team to preserve the evidence. How do you so botching a death and execution?
I guarantee it. It there's a fire squad coming up for a military, the shooter there, the base shooter military. For the sound. Oh, I can't remember. I know who you're talking about the four hoods. Yes. And I guarantee there won't be any problems with that one. I think it'll go swell. I think we have a problem with that. It's a gun. And so we don't like it because it's icky, but killing somebody is pretty much icky on its face. So, but I bet you there won't be any problems. And we should probably bring that back. Bring back the guillotine. That just seems a little harsh. But Pike, as we know, got two doses of that pentabarbital. And that massive sedative, sedative. It's used in at least 17 states for capital punishment. But we talked to Dr. Keeney. You remember we talked about Dr. Keeney about that. And he said it was like a hundred times each dose was like a hundred times what you would use or even more than what you'd use for anesthesia or something like that.
And that he thought it probably pierced the went through the vein and into the arm. And I think they found that out later, right? In addition to a pain. Yes. That they kind of missed the vein. It just went into her tissue. So it knocked her out, but it didn't go. It didn't circulate through a bloodstream and kill her. But you think they'd give her a third one and just make sure it went into the vein at that point because she's out. She's not feeling nothing. She was snoring. Nevermind. You know, we might not have made it without her. Margaret Hamilton. She was the groundbreaking researcher who helped create the field of software engineering. Imagine that. It's a whole field of software engineering. And her code helped NASA get to the moon. She was 90 years old. She recently died. She died on September 30. She worked at MIT starting in 1959.
And she stayed there until the mid 1970s. And that's when Hamilton managed the software engineering division. The division landed a contract with NASA in 1961. And she ultimately led a team of 100 engineers that designed the software to guide NASA's Apollo missions. To say she was a pioneer that she was ahead of her time would be a dramatic understatement said Apollo's program professor. Didn't they make a movie about her? So I thought that she was one of the hidden figures. Oh, that's what I thought. But this is different. Really? So it's interesting that another woman was that instrumental literally in getting us to the moon because the other one was, I can't remember their names, but man, that was a good movie. But that was to get John Glenn into orbit. Oh, gotcha. So it was before the moon mission. No, it just, you know, these little pieces of history that are actually huge pieces of history sometimes get lost.
And I love one of my favorite things in that movie is that they called that group of women who did all the calculations. They called them computers. They were all the original computers before it was machines that did it. That was their position. That it. Yeah, they're computing. Yeah. That's very, very cool. I need a computer. And then a woman shows up at the door. I'm here for you. We'll get back to handle in the news in a moment. Just wanted to go to a couple of these talkbacks. Here's my favorite talkback. Listen, you can like what we say or not like what we say that doesn't really matter unless you're going to give a good argument. I like to learn. But one of my favorites is when the list, we got smart listeners when the smart listeners show up and say things and this one is from Charles Baltimore. Charles Baltimore says, Hey, you know, when you talk about the botched execution, you don't hear about about the victim at all.
And I agree that's a very great point. So God bless, Colleen Slammer, who was the 19 year old victim back in 1995. You're absolutely right there. She is the victim in all this and Pike is human garbage. And then we talked about that on wake up call too. I was like, let's remind us what happened here. This woman is not a victim. She tortured and murdered somebody, kept part of her scalp as a souvenir and edged a pentagram into her body. Yeah. She's a human garbage. She doesn't, you know, it's normal to throw out garbage. And then Kevin Smith says that he uses the weather channel app and really likes it because he's got kids and, you know, baseball softballs, all kinds of traveling sports sports ball stuff. But they're all, you know, at the, I guess at the height, if you're, if you're traveling
like that, you're probably pretty good team. And that he loves that. It's pretty good on letting you know what's coming and what's not. So thanks to those that are always giving us important things on the talk back and not just you love Trump, you hate Trump, you love Trump, you hate Trump, which is the vast majority of what people say. They try and figure you out. You could tell them right to their face, something and they'll say, now I once told a psychic because I for those don't know, I'm an amateur magician, loved slide a hand and one of the other things that I liked a lot is mentalism, which is fake, you know, psychic stuff, which is to say that all psychics are fake in my, my view. But I had a psychic tell me because I could work a room that I, I was psychic and just didn't receive it. I'm just in believe it. I'm like, no, I'm using trickery.
It's much easier. Anyways. Okay. So this is me. Californians paying some of the highest water bills in the country. We talked about this a little bit yesterday. Yes, we're ranked 32. And there are others ahead of us. However, that's how 500. So we're still pretty high. You know, there are others higher, but this is California that you're talking Los Angeles is ranked 32. But California, you know, San Jose was number one and you've got San Francisco in there, ocean side in there. So California as a whole is taking it in the shorts per use when it comes to higher prices. We've got some trouble for an air taxi company. A jury in Tampa, Florida found that air taxi startup, Joe B Aviation, and this is a
startup, owes almost $117 million to an aviation supplier called aerosonic for allegedly breaching a confidentiality agreement and mishandling trade secrets. The supplier claims Joe B used proprietary designs and data to develop its own data probes that apparently measure the pressure around the aircraft because it's an air taxi and it's going to do a vertical takeoff. The major player in the race to bring air taxis to market is Joe B. It's denied the accusations. The jury though found that Joe B owes aerosonic more than $48 million for misappropriating those secrets and more than 68 million for breaking a non disclosure. Yeah, there's only like two companies that are vying right now, right? For these air taxis, have you seen them, what they look like? Well, I haven't seen one in real life, but they were talking about having them up and
running for the 2028 Olympics. Yeah, I've seen video and photos. They're pretty sleek and pretty amazing. Just talking to my buddy Armando last night about that over dinner, we were talking about the, you know, air taxis and how one day we're talking about having like Sunday dinner with your family, but they all live far enough away where it's difficult and how great it would be to just fly everybody in, you know, and enjoy. All right, flight attendants, their union flag safety concerns over Trump's Washington arch, you know, that's the arch that he wants to build. The union there is that represents thousands of flight attendants says Wednesday, it has safety concerns about this triumphal arc that will be on final approach to run, run on rig and airport there. I guess they just kind of feel that it's kind of stretched to its limit in that area. And another obstacle taking up space in the flight plan is probably not a good idea.
I know nothing about that, but we have all kinds of big things piercing the air. Well, it's got to be controlled air space because they're wanting to put drones and technology up there for defense purposes in Washington, DC. Yeah, on that. Yeah, he said it was going to be used for national security. Oh, because that's how you can get a build. Well, all right. All right. So they're not just suspending students, they're suspending whole fraternities at the University of Arizona. All activities are suspended and all the fraternities. I think there's 21 of them on campus because of what the university is calling persistent reports of misconduct, including assault, hazing and drug and alcohol related behavior. They didn't say whether the suspension was triggered by recent public outcry over how Cornell University handled allegations that seven fraternity brothers sexually assaulted a
woman in 2024. Yeah. I'm not one of those people where abuse bars use because people abuse something or there are some problems that you should bar it all, but I got to tell you, man, for fraternities, you don't hear this about sororities in the same way in the same sense. Don't always sound like a good idea. Even though I've known many people, I personally would have never been a part of one. It doesn't. Oh, I love the Greek system. Yeah. It does nothing for me. My wife was in a sorority and I know others and stuff, but at it meant a lot to them and their sisterhood and all those things. But it just all too often, it seems like, and I'm going to get black for this. I know not all of them are like this, but all too often we hear these stories that when they are bad, they're so incredibly bad that it's like really.
I'm surprised that the hazing still goes on because it was a thing, you know, when I was in school, but they've cracked down and they've changed a lot. I mean, we used to have, we used to have full on huge, raging parties in the basements at the fraternities. I know, but instead of, they were having them off campus too at private places. We just had the big ones and we were all together. But now they've cracked down on that. Yeah. I was on what is it? Recrow or whatever it is over by the call scene the other day when I went to the Lucas Museum. And I see. Yeah. USC. So I drove by all those and it's romantic in one way. It's a really neat system like you say in one way. And then in the other, you just think, there's a lot of bad. There's a lot about everywhere. I know. I get it. It just, it seems to be, then there needs to be a better way to control it. Let's say that. Okay. You know, they don't like when you call in Fratz.
Who are they? Like Fratt guys. Oh, they don't. No, they don't. No, because you wouldn't abbreviate the word country.
