Hoosiers Reload for Repeat Glory | Indianapolis News

Indiana Hoosiers, fresh off a perfect 16-0 season and national title, return ranked sixth with a bold plan to repeat — despite losing Heisman QB Fernando Mendoza to the NFL. Coach Curt Cignetti, a two-time AP Coach of the Year, is doubling down on a trench-heavy identity, reloading the offensive line and defense with proven starters and new talent. The real test? Wide receiver, where losses leave a void — but transfers like Nick Marsh and Tyler Morris could fill it. New QB Josh Hoover from TCU must adapt to a run-first system to minimize turnovers. With a grueling schedule including Ohio State, Michigan, and USC, the Hoosiers’ quest for back-to-back titles begins Sept. 5 against North Texas — and they’re built to fight.
