2:07talk. I did not get home until about 11 o'clock last night. We woke, we got about six hours of sleep, which is good. That's not bad. But then we tried to go back to bed after the kids got on the bus today. And we were not having that. So we are, we're raw dog in the show today a little bit as the kids would say. And now that being said, that was a lot of fun last night. And I don't think anyone on the station has talked nearly enough about Andy Baskin starting the event on YouTube by calling Ken Carmen and A whole. Yeah, that was, that was something, wasn't it? Yeah. Was that your favorite part of the event? It was very well might have been because I don't think what I like about it beyond the obvious is I really liked that I don't think Ken sought coming at all. No, he was completely blindsided by it. That made it really humorous. Yeah. That's that's where we're at. He also, that Baskin said it. If we put like the big board of who was most likely to drop an expletive to start the event, I kind of think Baskin was like a plus 3000. Right. So here's the problem or at least the setup.

3:08So a yesterday, Baskin's kept you in like, oh, who would win in a fight? Is it Nick? Is it Ken? Is it Anthony? Is it Jonathan? Oh, morning show versus the afternoon. A brew off in the ages. And then we all sit down and we're getting ready to be very proper and just kind of like do like, Hey, go go 92 three of the fans and Baskin stands up. You're in a hole in your day. Oh, and you're in a hole. And it only Ken. As if he had his mark picked out. Who knew he has been waiting 15 years to say that to Ken. Oh, no. And then we, we also found out that Jeff Phelps is seriously like protective of Roman sessions. Yeah. That was funny. Lime, Lime said, just all Lime said was, ah, Roman sessions was on that team. And Phelps was like, don't you say a thing about him? It was like, we stopped that there. Yeah. He was so serious about it. No, he's like, don't you even think about going after sessions? I was waiting. Don't even do it. Jackson, what I loved it. I was waiting for like, like, like a smirk. Cracked me up a lot during that event. I don't know that everybody else is loving it.

4:09I was a loving Phelps in that event because he was so like, so Phelps, it was just so him. It was so perfectly him and I loved it. Even today, him still being very disappointed about people cursing at the event was probably the most on-brand Jeff Phelps thing ever. Yeah, it's great. Absolutely great. Because here's the thing I wanted to hear Jake Volnick curse last night. And that was the other thing because, you know, Baskin comes out with a hole just immediately. Yeah, right out of the shoot. He tosses a grenade in. I'm like, all right, now it's time. And I mean, you heard one and then I, you could tell. I've got a couple out there. You could tell you wanted to get in the action. And then it like, there was a time where I was like, I got like four curse words here and we're like, maybe 25 minutes in. It kind of felt like when a radio host first goes on serious XM radio and realize they can do that. Or, I almost mentioned a very specific name. Or like if somebody does like a YouTube only show and they just keep coming up to the point of cursing, but oh, oh, I'm not going to do it.

5:10I could do it because it's on YouTube. But I'm not going to do it. Okay, then. What were you thinking of? Nobody specifically. I'm just saying like kind of like you with a serious thing. Just kind of saying when they get a chance, when they get a chance to go, they go. I thought one moment I was delivered. Why would it a nice job? I'm seeing that was a much I'm a for me if we're being honest. Now the funny thing, I don't know if you notice this or not. And so we had a little bit of a mic issue and there weren't as many mics as there were people. And so a couple ofiles though. And so, so why am I would like give me the mic or then give Darryl the mic who he would off to his right. Any time there was a moment that he felt like, all right, you guys can chime in. And it was basically any time he felt like I was getting ready to like basically go after Canon some sort of way, all of a sudden the mic became open. All of a sudden it was like, oh yeah, yeah, I think you have a point on this right? You're on a thing. Oh, okay, all right, good. Yeah, now we have an opportunity. That's great. But no, there's a lot of fun to everybody that showed up. We appreciate you. But if you weren't there, again, I thought Jeff made a great point today when they were talking about it on their show. Of like, you know, as many callers as we have, we know that there's, you know, 10 times of people that listen,

6:14but they don't call in, but still support us. And so to everyone, and this, and this goes to everyone that has worked at this station, including people that don't work here anymore. That is a giant celebration of everybody. There were eight guys on the stage that got to take the credit for it and got the love for it. But I mean, it is 15 years in the making of love and hard work and passion and fighting with each other, driving each other crazy, making each other laugh. And it was, you know, to be on that stage at any point in there, it was definitely an honor to represent the station. I just, really, it's a really special thing. And I don't want to get sappy here or anything like that either. But like, I always tell you, I feel like I'm the new guy here constantly. And I've been here for 10 years, Nick. Like, I've been here 10 years of built a family, built everything in Cleveland. And in radio terms, being in a spot in 10 years, you're the oldest guy at a radio station if you've been there for 10 years. I'm still, I'm the new guy to all of you guys. Yeah. And that's what's fun about that. Like, you don't, you don't have stations that are built like that where you have Ken that's been here from the beginning,

7:14you that's been here from the beginning, Lyme, from the beginning, Baskinim, Phelps, all from the beginning. And it's, and again, Jake's obviously newer than I am. So he's going to have some of this and it's going to at 10 years from now, he'll be laughing the same way I am. I would say you're never going to escape the new guy mentality. But stations aren't like this across the country where you have this many people that have been at a spot for as long as we've had it. And I just, it's something that's really special. That's actually where I do get very weepy about this for as many shots as I take. And as many things as I've said, I mean, Baskin's kids were little when the stations started, you know? Yeah. They were younger than, than my kids are now, right? You came here single and ready to mingle and you found a lease and you had kids. My kids have gone from one year old and then the twins were born while I worked here. To now I have a teenager and two more teenagers on the way in about three months time. So it's just, it's hard not to look at that and just get a little misty eye there. Yeah. And you just don't see that in radio where you can have that many people that have all lived through the lives of each other.

8:18Is this the same way? Because in radio, again, like 10 years at a place, I'd be the oldest guy there by a long shot. That's just not how it works. And so it's a, it's special that we have that. By the way, on the caller side of things, like, uh, Chris and Chicago, like this. Yeah. There's all sorts of guys that just never thought I wouldn't meet. When we do these events, we've done so many different like tailgates and we do remotes. And it's a lot of the, you get a lot of the same guys that come out and we always appreciate that. And we do love that. But you know, last night, there was a lot of guys, I'd never met Demos before. Like a lot of callers we've had forever that just came out. And I thought that was awesome. And we got to say, Demos tried to pull the card of, you know, it, you know, it's been Demos and Shaker for 15 years. He's like, I'd actually tell the board ops. It's now Demos on Shaker. Yeah. Well, and I was like, I was like, I can't do that seal. I can't, you know, I, I listened, Prince. I'd love to go ahead and change your name, but you're Demos in Shaker. I can't get to the on shaker. That's too much change for me. Yeah. It was very cool. Very fun. I'm sure I, I just one of those nights, you just, uh, you'll remember for a while. It was great. I think we should do it again next month. You just want some on. Yeah. Yeah. But maybe, sure.

9:22Maybe we just don't invite some people. No, I said that's it. Oh, no, I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Who could that be? Well, because I think that was my favorite part of it is there was some ballbusting going on. And there was some needling. And I will tell you, I was not planning on being that cagey, but we just did five hours. We stepped right into this scenario. And you boy, your boy hadn't eaten. Yeah. And you boy didn't eat all night. It was kind of, I compared it to like your wedding. We're just, there was so much going on. Any time you tried to make it over there, it just never happened. But like, so what ended up happening is by the end of that, after about seven and a half hours of talking and Keith actually shorted us a half hour in the, uh, in the, in the email today, a special shout out. I feel like we always get shorted in those emails. I never get mentioned. I like that we got mentioned. It was a very nice shout out. It was seven and a half hours of talking by the end of it. We ended it when we needed to because another 30 minutes in Nick Wilson talking and, um, I would have been like a suspension handed out or, hey, what, we have this, you, you're saying this thing on YouTube? We needed a handler is what we needed.

10:25We needed somebody to be like, now here's the food. Let's put the food in front of you. Now you guys eat and make sure you take care of yourselves because we stopped. We stopped. You're wedding analogies great and perfect because it's exactly how that worked. Uh, but we stopped taking care of ourselves. Is there reality in that? And more than one way for me, we're supposed to take care of our own selves. Uh, but we just stopped taking care of ourselves and instead just talked to everybody. But no, it was, uh, it was seriously great, guys. It really was. Thank you for coming out. Uh, anybody that supports the station. Thank you. It'll be something I say is the one that gets us and everybody like, wait, well, hold on. Yeah. We knew somebody on that show was going to get caught saying something wrong and I would come out Jonathan that said it. And I would come out the day after and I would cut a scorching promo. And I would say this is a family man. This is my, this is my best radio friend. How dare you do this to him? He deserves better. And I would say like 10 things worse than what you got fired for. No, you have an easy out and I would get a promotion. Yeah. You have an easy out. You just be like, Jonathan's a company man. And as a, as a company man, he'd respect me taking the company line and saying, well, not everything in life is good. That happens. I think we both know that's not happening. Sometimes changes necessary. Sometimes people need to be punished for their words. I think he'd given his best take on the air so far. That was my, I didn't think

13:32Still waiting on a guardians game time start there. We'll say it does. It really doesn't look that bad outside right now. And I haven't heard some any, any thunder rumbles now. And the, the Dishon Shedore conversation rages on. And I think what is surprised me about all of this because I've known the starting quarterback for the 2026 season was going to be either Shedore or Dishon for like six weeks or six months now. So I even, even though I still was pretty enraged when they actually named Dishon the starter, I've known it was a possibility for a while. And so what my preparation for this season has been JP is I'm taking whatever I feel about Dishon and putting it over here. And I'm not allowing that to contaminate what I think about Mason Graham and KC

14:32conception and Denzel Boston. And I'm trying to do the same with Todd Munkin, by the way, because it's you know, two weeks of Dishon, is it worth my feelings for the next four years, potentially, about a Todd Munkin. What is stood out to me and what certainly stood out to me last night talking with a bunch of people at the fan ofversary and just interacting with Brown's fans on social media heavily these last couple of days as we start doing predictions and teams tears and all this stuff. Uh huh. It's just how many people are not doing that. The weather and it's not just Dishon, by the way, but it is either Dishon and or Shedore, the dislike from Brown's fans for one both or either quarterback. I don't know. I said either after that, but has impacted their feelings about how much they actually like this Brown's team, which kills me. Because if we just separate the quarter back spot over here, I think there's tons to like with the actual Brown's team themselves. Yeah, but I think it's I think it's really hard. It's been hard for myself. There is a lot that I

15:32like about this Brown's team, but it's been hard for myself to to say like, oh, I love everything about this Brown's team. When I know I don't love the quarterback and Dishon Watson. And I think that what he's done with his play over the previous few years is just enough for me to get angry about the whole ordeal. And then in turn, because they make the decision, you start to question some of the other people in charge like I liked Munkin initially. You like him more than I do. You always have. But I like Munkin. But as we've moved on with this and the decision has been made, it makes me question whether his judgment is right to all these other things. And then it makes me question some of the front office. And it just it just puts a damper on all of it. Yes, it does. Well, and I think this was highlighted by the cat Hickman thing. I don't think anyone would have cared if the if the Brown said, but name even Kirk cousins who I don't know any of us would have been crazy about. But if the Browns had gotten Kirk cousins this off season and brought them in and he was automatically the starter, I don't know the cat Hickman thing on social media goes the way it does. But people are looking for any place to put their rage about this Brown's team. And I

16:35just I think what's so easy for me to compartmentalize one again, I had six months. And I did make sure to listen to every time they told anyone that would listen, I shot it down and said it's absolutely insulting and crazy. But I listen to every time somebody from that organization said nice things about to Sean, right? I just disagree with it. But it's not like that. So I've had time to to really prepare for this. But like, I don't know, I come back to listen, if we get eight weeks in and he's not playing very well and there are one in 17, I probably am going to have a really hard time with this. But I'm just airing on the side of if he's playing that bad. And so this is where you can't have it both ways if you're Todd Monkin. You can't say, DeSean gives you the best chance to win. And if he comes out those first two weeks and he just looks non functional or he just looks like he did in that second preseason game, there's you have no chance. Like you keep talking about in your and I understand why you're saying it. And I, I think you're saying it for good reason.

17:35But you keep talking about they need, you know, indefatigable proof that DeSean is a broken tool. I like my word better. But was your word indefatigable? Okay. So I make sure I okay. Okay. That's fine. It cannot be defatigable. I think you can get that in two games. And I think there's a strong likelihood that they're getting it for two games. So I just, I can't bring myself to be like, that guy is going to poison one more second about how at least the players are saying here's how I get the front office thing. But when it comes to these players, I think, I think we're going to end up loving a lot of these guys. I'm really excited to watch these kids play. I'm going to put this in cooking terms for you since you like to cook. Okay. You ever have like a great dish and you have you use all sorts of nice meats and you have all sorts of nice sauces and all sorts of nice. I'm just trying to put this all in a boiling pot together. Okay. Okay. Is it is there meat and sauces? Me too. Yeah, just do. I'm making a nice I'm making a nice do you said cooking? We got we got meats. We got

18:35sauces. We got all sorts of things. You got spices. I think about a real cage and flare to this. Okay. I don't know if you're a telly. That's it. It's too much of a gumbo. I know you're a cooking guy. You really want the difference between a stew and a gumbo. Okay. Chili, by the way. Here's the problem. Dishon Watson is the salt in this equation. All right. And we put too much salt in the dish. And so is the whole dish bad now? Yeah. You put too much salt in the dish. It can become bad. And that's the Sean Watson in this conversation. But you can remove the salt. He has, again, you're now your food networking me. You're doing you give you a different food analogy here. No, I'll pick apart that one too. All right, let's do it this way. Mustard on a hot dog. The hot dog can be good. The bun can be good. Catch up can be good. You put too much mustard on the hot dog. We have too much mustard in this hot dog. It's too much. I can just wipe the mustard. It's too much. We put too much on. I told you it's too much. But you wiped it off. I clearly not. I put too much in. Yes, if I get too hot, I put too much salt in stew. How do I get rid of too much salt in stew outside of just adding more beef? Is that the idea? Yeah, add more water. Yeah, just a bunch more water. And we leave

19:39that thing out. Yeah, yeah. And then basically you can drain the liquid and then we put the liquid in. You still probably have a little bit, a little bit touch of salt there, but it won't be, it won't be killer. I got too much of a salt here. You've done the whole entire, you've done too much of salt. The whole salt container into the man. It all spilled. That's too much salt. It is not like an oops. I just I just poured a couple shakes too many. No, no, no, oops. The whole entire container of salt is now in this stew. The stew is not good anymore. No water saving this stew. That's to Sean Watson. Okay. It's too much salt in the meal. The meal's gone bad. And other ingredients in the meal could have been great, Nick. Could have been awesome. Could have been the best you've ever seen. What part did I, why, what accident did I do there? No, it was normal people could have accepted my salt in the stew. It was the imploring. It was imploring with my hands. It was like Ernest Angelie was standing in front of me. You be he. Oh, no, rat it to do it. It's a rat it to do it. It was a little mouse.

20:43All the salt in the stew. It's too much salt, Nick. There's no recovering with this meal. Yeah. The meal's gone bad. Okay. But Sean Watson's the if I'm aware of what it is. But it's two weeks. Like it's anywhere from two to eight weeks. Eight weeks. It is like I said, this is where I am giving it to you. If it is eight weeks, it is going to be it's going to be tough to keep that salt out of that stew. Thank you. Yeah. But two weeks we're going to forget about the Dishon Watson era in 2026 by mid October. If Dishon Watson, I mean, I'll be exact. It's going by two weeks, but I don't I don't I maintain this. I don't think that he's just going to be gone by two weeks because we we hope and dream that that'll be enough in the Browns. I'll have the answer. I feel like I'm just using logic on that. Dishon Watson is a broken toy and the Browns aren't going to be able to hide it with. Oh, no. Well, operationally he looked great against Jacksonville when he threw four underceptions and flipped off the crowd. I understand I'm in the minority when I say eight weeks. I understand I'm in the minority

21:45when I say that I think the Browns are going to give it again undeniable proof is what they're going to need before they before they bench Dishon Watson. But let's wake up and say six, seven, eight weeks, whatever that is. That's that we're entering half your season. That's that's a that's a whole bunch of football to have to watch with Dishon Watson. And yes, I do think it'll be easier to stomach. It'll be easier to take in when he's not the quarterback of the team. That's kind of the whole point. Wait, we're going to start to like a lot of these players a lot more when Dishon Watson is not around. I think we should like those players regardless because I think those players count towards the future more. And again, so maybe the point is, and again, I'm making an assumption here. So I'm I'm instructing people to do something to not do something that I'm doing. If if your assumption is he's going to start eight games, I would just stop making that assumption. It doesn't mean you're wrong, by the way. You I think you have a better chance of being right than I do. I'm just going to stop making my assumptions on things. Stop making your assumption after week two. I'm no, yes, I'm pointing to my hypocrisy. Stop ruining my my gumbo. But I do think like

22:51I just if you don't know the difference between two games and eight games, why the hell are we then putting it on the rest of the team or putting it on Monkin? I just like I'm not trying to say enjoy it because we try to go full Paul Dolan because we don't know until he's actually gone after week two, we have to live with the idea that this team will continue to do the improbable because that's what they did all off season long. It sounds like snowball into me to use a psychological term. It sounds like we're expecting the worst, which I get why we do it. Because that showed us the entire time. I understand they programmed me to think the worst is always coming because every time I try to believe in this team, they give me the worst. Yeah, but it's this is I wouldn't say all the time. It's been the last two years. And by the way, one of the guys who did that of this to show the program experience, they've given me the worst outcome imaginable every time. I understand. I don't think to show on watch and defines this season because I think if he is that bad, I think he'll be out the door and Shador will be in the door. And I think and by the way, even if you don't like Shador, I think Shador might actually have a chance to play well. That's a different conversation. If you defines a season, if we look back on 2026 and we say

23:55to Sean Watson to find the season, that's a different conversation than how I feel right now about this Brown's team and what they've done and making to Sean Watson. How many times have we gone in with a negative attitude about a team and then whether anything other than, you know, 650 winning percentage changes our opinion on that team. Like I just I hate to poison 90% of the gumbo for potentially 10% or 5% when eventually that 10% of the gumbo isn't going to matter anymore. And I think that's what the only thing Brown's fans have been hanging on to is the other percent. They've been trying to hang on to what'll happen with Quinshaw this year. What'll happen with the wide receivers? What's going to happen with the offensive line? We've been trying, but quarterback just matters so much in this sport that it's just hard to overlook at all. 216 474 0092 has the quarterback position made this Brown Brown's team, unlikeable. You know, because it doesn't need to be all easy going in high school and you got to have some adversity. And so I'm maybe in the minority sitting at Stans, but there's sometimes we're secretly I'm like, let's take those losses. You know, and so you can learn from it before you get in high school. Have you secretly rooted for your kids to fail? Well, my kid is three and a half Nick. Yeah. So I haven't come across a time. Do you ever get, do you ever just like when she's like trying to like sound out a word and you just go, that's not what this block is. And I'm throwing it against the wall. Yeah, I don't, I don't think she needs that adversity in life. I feel like I feel like she needs more people that proper up and make sure that she does all right. Yeah. 31:15I understand wanting to build adversity can be a good thing. I get all that. But if you want your kid to play pro, which I assume is the is where they want him to go. I wouldn't want my kid to own interceptions in seventh grade football. I just, I, you want to dominate. You want to make it where you, there's just no, there's no amount of mistakes that happened because most people that end up going and playing pro just straight up dominate seventh eighth grade football and it's nothing close. I also think there's this, this idea that adversity, that the more adversity, the better I would disagree. Adversity is one of the best ways you can learn lessons on this planet. It's also a great way to crush your spirit. So, you know, like the idea of like, ah, I was going to trust you the most. Right. I'm going to test you the most and I test me a little less. I've got, that's why I need with a solid analogy. It's a lesson, adversity. Test me a little less. That would have been bulletproof. Yeah.
