2:28Last night was a disappointing disaster. To say the least was puts us in a position of this weekend of having our butt cheeks clenched as tight as they possibly can be clenched. We heard it on a 77.

3:29It's like a real thing that happened. And here are the loser Phillies, here to ruin everything. The leaderless, rudderless Phillies who are so busy worrying about whether they're gonna wait around in the clubhouse to 1am to see if the Padres lose to celebrate that they forget to score runs or win baseball games, 2 games, 2 runs. This leaderless clubhouse is busy waiting around for somebody else to do something or for something to just happen. They never, ever, ever, ever, ever decide to take like their destiny by their hands, look at each other in the eyes or somebody in that clubhouse and say, what we are doing isn't good enough and we all have to do better. Nobody, there's nobody who will hold anybody accountable. Kyle Schwarber, he's nice to everybody, Bryce Harper, so busy, marketing himself, making sure he plays 162 games. Like nobody, who shares any real emotion.

4:29Oh, they're good at celebrating. They're great at celebrating. When they win a game, they're great at jumping up and down and all that kind of stuff. But when they need it, when they need a jolt of somebody in that clubhouse to just say our opportunity to win a world series is slipping through our hands, nobody. Just like crickets. And I wish they could just like end this emotional torture of having to believe in them up and down this year and this fall. That's the thing about the Phillies is that like no one holds anybody accountable. I wish I could say I just don't want them to make the playoffs because I don't want to deal with another week of this torture and they don't deserve to make the playoffs. Sometimes you just lose games, right? Sometimes you lose games. Brewers are good team. You could lose to the brewers, but you can just see it watching them. Their failure when they play is so familiar all the time. It's just this dead in the water failure, this glassy eyed failure and nobody.

5:33Nobody will walk through that clubhouse and look all of their teammates in the eye and say we're not good enough. JT Roemuto, a week and a half, two weeks ago said, we're not going to catch the braves with me not in the lineup. I don't think he's had a sit since then like since that moment. Oh, we're not going to catch the braves without you in the lineup. Forget about catching the braves like a week ago they had a 96% chance of making the playoffs. And now I don't care what the percentages are, but you can see it. Like you can feel it happening. Would it surprise anybody if they don't win a game this weekend? And the Diamondbacks take two or three of the Padres. Would it surprise anybody? It wouldn't surprise me. And the players don't keep each other accountable and the manager doesn't do it. Like you see it on other teams. You see it on the brewers when somebody doesn't play the right way, doesn't run a ball out, doesn't, they get benched. Like you watch that brewers team. You watch how they play in the field. You watch how they handle it. Batts, it's always aggressive. It's always sharp. They're not perfect, but you can tell that there is a standard and there's not a standard here.

6:37And the president of baseball operations isn't busy holding the standard because he's too busy trying to hold on to his job. Right? He's too busy in the press, planning stories so he can get another contract. That's what the president of baseball operations cares about. He cares about making sure that Don Mattingley is there to be on the chopping block so he can fire him when they fail again at the end of the year. Or he can throw one of his players under the bus and a press conference at the end of the year. Or can you imagine because he's not going to hold himself accountable when they end up failing this year in that press conference. He's going to say, you know, we had all these relievers that were ready, but they all got hurt. And you know, that just happens sometimes and no one's going to hold him accountable. And John Middleton is going to give him another contract and the players are going to continue to make all this money, money, money, money, money. And at the end of it, like it is the ego of this team. It's the ego because they just take spit. They all just look at each other. We're good enough, right? We're good enough. And they just expect it'll happen. And I think the most frustrating thing is the number of times over the last few years where they have sunk and they have we've seen them play different, right?

7:45We've seen it happen this year once with defense toward the beginning of the year when Mattingley took over and then once with approach of the plate after they had their big meaning. And then after everything has settled again, they go back to their normal like we're good. We're the filliest man. Like they're walking with their cool leather like they're fonsey. Like they walk in with their leather jackets, you know, and because your name on the back of the jersey says Harper or Schwarber or real Muto that you're just going to be gifted runs because you're making 20, 30 million dollars and you're headed to the Hall of Fame. But you know what? That's not how it works. And there might not be any Hall of Famers in the everyday lineup for the Brewers or there might not be anybody making 40 million dollars. But you know what? They just came in here and kicked our asses because they play better baseball than we do. I just I can't stand them. I can't stand them. Yeah, I think the biggest thing for me that I guess I'm disappointed in is it just seems like I don't know if they really believe or care as much.

8:46And that's what's a little surprising to me. I don't know if this is just age and attrition and they're no longer good enough because they've shown us this in spurts. And it's hard for me to believe that the talent isn't there enough to have you in the playoffs playing good baseball now. And at least giving yourself a chance. There's enough talent on his team to do that. But there's something else that's not right within. And that's why you have the up and down roller coaster season. Right. We understand baseball is baseball and the law averages everything so he even itself out. But now we're more or less talking about locking in and playing your best baseball down the stretch that gives you a chance to compete for World Series title. It's one thing to get through the first 130 games trying to put yourself in position where they did that will what they did at through August. How do you get to September and it reverts back to this and not only does it revert back to it. You can't somehow fight your way out of it.

9:54And we get to the final week of the season where you have to do the bare minimum to get yourself into the post season. And this thing is going to come down to the very end when it shouldn't have to come down to the very end. And they have not played inspiring baseball for a few weeks now. And I wonder from from a from a infrastructure standpoint. What's going on something if everybody is pulling in the same direction and the Mojo was good and the energy is good. They wouldn't play this type of baseball for this extended period of time in which they've shown there would be some sort of rallying point that they can all gravitate towards and fight their way out of this. No one is asking them to play 700 baseball. Right. We're just saying 500 best or slightly above that at least getting into the playoffs. When to game. Yeah, that we're you're playing good baseball and it and it seems like it's been a a struggle to get them to buy all in. And I don't know if it's leadership. I don't know if it's Mojo if there's something else that we don't see.

11:03But this isn't a baseball team. Take the pod race for example. Look how long they floundered all year long and look how well they're playing late into the year. Maybe the hottest team going into the post season right now. Why is that? It's it is like whether they're stale or whether they don't believe and man. What I heard people say a two on five five nine two ninety four is like well. It doesn't matter if we get in the playoffs because our bullpen isn't good enough and da da da da da da da da da da. I don't want to hear about the bullpen when you score one run. Right. One run. You know like I think fransky gave the stat yesterday that over the last 20 games they scored three or fewer runs. 12 times and I think one or zero runs five times. I don't care about the bullpen if we're scoring one run and did you really see anyone out there like the thing that you're talking about like digging deep and doing the extra thing and really locking in because there's a you know what no one is ever never no one is ever held accountable in the way of like you are you are you are held responsible for the thing.

12:13I'm not talking about not performing I'm talking about not like not playing in the way that everyone is supposed to be playing right never never you know we did oh we got rid of Nick Castellanus with nobody doesn't nobody likes him anymore or Taiwan Walker always his fault it was Nick Castellanus's fault it was Taiwan Walker's fault it's never Bryce's fault it was toppers fault it's never Bryce's fault it's never Schorber's fault it's never you know what I mean it's never trace fault it none it it's never there for you. It's never Dave's fault it's just like I just I do I really you know in my heart of hearts I would love yeah you know I only been back two and a half years and I've seen them lose to the bets in the first round and lose to the Dodgers in the first round and I would so badly like to watch this team win in the playoffs but man like watching them limp their way in only to get into a wild card series against a team that is probably better than them you know when it going out in two games do I really need to see this team in the playoffs I'm just surprised they have no fight yeah that's what I'm surprised at that like they have no fight and I'm not doing some sort of this is Philly and this is how we

13:31proud I'm not doing that I'm just saying from a competitors standpoint and knowing where you are and what the change with the opportunity you have in front of you I'm surprised that they haven't been more locked in and and energetic this month that's what has surprised me it's almost almost like the sixers probably last year knowing that going into the playoffs who cares we get in we get in we know we're going home in the first of second round yet you know how it's like it we're just going through the motions basic remember you know how before the LeBron here how like I would be the guy who'd fight the good fight for the sixers and everyone would tell me this team doesn't have it's too yeah they're just going to lose they're just going to lose they're just going to lose and I would I feel bad now because I would tell people do you just want them to lose is that what you want but no what it really was was they they had put their faith in it every time and they didn't see anything change in a way that was meaningful that made them believe yeah right like they they just saw the same good players sure but they didn't really see anything change in a meaningful way and we're in the same spot where we have a

14:42bunch of good players but we've never seen anything change in a meaningful way before we get to the phones jack and if they don't care to change yeah it's like there's like okay this is going to happen to us oh well I mean or there's a different level of arrogance of will be fine we'll be fine which I hate I just don't know how to have that arrogance and I think that of course they act like they've done something you did something four years ago you got close but it wasn't good enough and I think the thing that that's really hit me is is the standard for the Phillies is just not high the standard for the Phillies is just gets of the post season the standard for the Phillies is not we're going to go win a world series they say they want to win the world series they don't act like they want to win a world series I'm embarrassed like as a die hard live and die keraton like this is embarrassing because I think they should be better than this and the fact that it's letting this happen after all the playoff failures of the last couple years you know how much that burned you guys up when you lost in 2001 to 3 to where it's you as a 40 came out like gangbusters doesn't feel like this burns this team it's because they they've made too much money like the younger players don't care

15:47about like they're learning and the the Derek Hills and the like awesome that they've been good additions it's the big money guys like they don't feel like that there is this yearning to get it done that we came up short in the years past and now it's our time to get over the top like I want to say that they know this is their last ride I don't think they do I don't think any idea that this this window is I don't feel like it no they're not acting like and I feel bad for the starting rotation quite frankly mm-hmm these guys they've all battled fought their butts off all year to keep us in contention they've gone through their rough spots but yet they always seemingly pitch with a sense of accountability and responsibility to you every day players to go out and try to give you guys a chance to win ball games like I watch Aaron Nolan look I Aaron Nolan has fought to be a respectable picture the last third of this season look at what Andrew Painter went down to the miners and came back and did because of what he felt Zach Willer coming back from injuries

16:49fighting through doing what he's doing Christopher Sanchez up and down like Lazardo fighting to come back and now being willing to be a bull pin guy it's like the the it's these everyday guys who seemingly don't have the same desire and urgency that I feel like the the starting rotation in the pictures those guys feel like they're giving us everything they have yes they've battled through everything yes Nolan could have just been no it could have been like look at 30 million dollars I'm going to make 30 million dollars whether I stink or don't stink it doesn't matter but he didn't he battled through it I do think it comes from the top and like Dumbbrowski I think there's this thing where you're in a position for too long or you've been doing it for too long and maybe you know too much and Dumbbrowski just go and thinking it's a crap shoot and get into the playoffs all we really need to do is get to the playoffs and then anybody can win but you almost want somebody in there who's like no I can make a difference I can make them a little bit better like if we're a little bit better on the margins if we're if we
