I mean he was getting tattooed by the extra Yeah, it feels like that because I was watching I was at a spot where I was watching on both both screens I was watching football on the smallest screen. I had baseball on the base screen Yeah, and he got rough. He got touched up a little bit. Yeah, now look he had been better lately So it's not like panic load or big concern because he he settled back down. I just At this time, you know, you're getting this two weeks left in the season

2:04You you want to see you you want you want to see like you want to see the offense doing with a deal Yes, they're especially coming off of the game that they had a couple days ago So you just want to see everybody kind of trending in the right direction I guess as we head towards the postseason I'm not sure what we're gonna what level we're getting out of Sanchez in the postseason You can convince me he can have two or three great starts because he's an excellent pitcher I he's also had I have to go look He's probably had three or four or five stars. This year is given up 10 or more hits like he has games once in a while Where he gives up a lot of it's in a lot of hard contact So let's cross our fingers at last night was just a bad night and he has a good start next week and we keep rolling now Here let's get to the good And you know you're the one that called it two nights ago. I mean clandard think there's you know He was drafted really high. There's a sense. He's gonna be good But your point is fair right you know, would you look at Drake now compared to Jalen after 22? It's very similar. I mean the difference actually would be Jalen played better in the soup way better in the serve ball Like you know demonstraably better in the serve ball may stunk so you're right So we'll you know, we'll see where his career goes, but I I agree with you in that Their AJ wanted to play with him and didn't want to play with Jalen and last night felt like you know, that's karma. That's karma for him

6:18What Drake may is a deer in headlights when he comes to big games now people now AJ is gonna see the difference between a stone cold killer and a guy who just average when his life gets bright because this guy I understand that AJ AJ went out of the game That's that's that's a thing, but you let a backup drew a lot come into the game and outplay you and Use the second and MVP and you supposed to be and you was on top five lists all throughout the all throughout the all season And you guys and players don't know ball. I mean let's that draft class. She was an interesting one right that 2024 draft class. Yeah Caleb Williams first year was that good nope and then what happened last year he popped right now people you know I think he's gonna be really good again Jaden Daniels here was the opposite Jaden Daniels rookie year was one of the most impressive rookie years of any quarterback We've ever seen and then last year he got hurt and he stunk Drake May rookie year bad team and whatever then last year He pops they go to the surb both not creating the playoffs and he struggles this first game this year So we'll see I mean here you don't

8:22Talent is talent you could kind of see that when you just put the game on but you really don't know how these quarterbacks are gonna evolve It takes time right they have to go through the league they have to adjust that injuries happen It takes a few years to really know like all right is this guy gonna be great for a while Or is he just good for a moment? There's been a lot of quarterbacks that have been good for a year or two and then they just fall off Yeah, and and and I think that Drake made you know going into a game where The team that you just played the last year had your number they ain't too much changed You know the main AJ was really the change. Yeah, AJ was a change and for whatever reason You're you went into that game and Your emphasis early on was to try to establish the run right and when you did try to pass it wasn't there You know quarterbacks That's why I thought it was kind of odd because thinking about to last year started a season not our game But every other game you saw the game start with they try to get the quarterback more so in a passing rhythm

9:23It felt like it needs to with a game last night It felt like they they were more establishing the run even when when Sam Donnell got hurt They were more it was more of a ground game because I think if I'm between the two teams I think Seattle had 97 yards on the ground and and I think New England had a hundred or over a hundred something like that So it was more of a passing game and it was between the two quarterbacks It was like 400 yards passing or whatever to combine so it was more it felt like it was more Of a feel you out kind of run the ball kind of game But I thought that going into this and all the hoopla that was around AJ the fact that you took forever to getting That you would probably you know involved him on the past game and what that wasn't the case The other thing and we had a couple callers bring up the sloppiness here. You're right. You're right about the rushing numbers The other thing that you know I had last night had 17 combined penalties That's sloppy. I mean teams that aren't ready the pre-procedural penalties And see that's you know when you when you when we were talking about Eagles and unacceptable

Yeah, he feels about well Here's Jalen and he he kind of threw an interesting nugget out there about what he's been used to verse what we might get Sunday I don't know we'll see we'll see it's been the first to be the first time a coach has been in the play college has been in the booth since college

13:33So you know think just again the importance of building that chemistry and getting hip to hip him knowing what he's thinking I each processing things and ultimately you know, I think the end game chemistry that'll be built the end game experiences We have coming soon to be very valuable for us and what we ultimately want to accomplish So he did go on to later say Hugh that he whatever is good for Sean is best for the team like if Sean wants to be in the booth He's fine with it, but that's an interesting angle that I hadn't thought about what Jalen's been used to and he said he hasn't had a Coordinator a play caller not on the sidelines with him since college so He was with Lane Kiffin right cuz Lane Lane was Lane with him for yeah, I'm not sure I'm not sure I know he had dable. He had Mike Loxley for a moment. Maybe he had Lane Cuz Lane was on the sideline because I remember I remember saving cursing him out quite a few times Lincoln Riley Of course at Oklahoma was on the sideline so he so he's saying it's been a while for him to not be able to just walk over to the Play caller on the sideline and Discussing he's going old school. He's gonna be on the phone. You can bend that red phone. Well, you know what? I don't I don't know if it's like that. I think they can talk to him in their ear with that with his helmet

14:37And it's how he did mention the phone yesterday. So okay, he did he did so I guess they could do either yeah Well, can they can Jalen speak into the helmet like you know, I mean like Jalen could hear him in the helmet could Jalen talk back? I don't know what they probably had to be on the phone. I'm probably be on the phone. You can get him in his helmet He can say hey, I need to talk to you right and hey when you get dealt with this series I need to talk to you he could do that, but yeah, yeah, he probably had to be on the phone It's an adjustment I didn't think about the adjustment for Jalen like we had talked about it as what's good for Manion? What how does he see the field? What's where is he comfortable? It's that it is an adjustment for Jalen Well, I think you know, it's funny cuz I think man I had this conversation a couple weeks ago and and he was basically giving his his two cents about where he felt like All the coordinators I remember defensively they're on the sideline, but they were veteran coordinators, right? So maybe that has something to do with it He hasn't he wants to see the whole field until he gets comfortable With being out down there on the field so it might be one of those things It's a comfort thing right now and as he as he progresses as a play caller

15:40He'll probably move down to the to the sideline because like I said I remember Defense coordinators the ones that I've had they like they like they like to cut you out They like to they like to know what you see what you see and all players or cut that you got to cut that line I remember the only coordinated I had that was in the in the booth was Jim Vickeryllum Mm-hmm and and Jim was you know He had the coaches on the sideline that kind of coach or whatever, but Jim Joss was on the sideline and Emmett Emmett was on the sideline. It's like I feel like and I want to put words in my view you're looking at it more so That he's not gonna improvise you almost like his running will if Sean wants him to run call I run I'll run call a quarterback and I'll run but if you don't call it I'm not running as much but see I look at it more so Him trying to play Initially in the structure of the offense because that that right now that's what we're talking about we're talking about The fact that Jayla's learning a new offense and he's trying to learn a new oasis of this new offense So in order for him to have success Maybe initially you run it to write the right way, you know, you run it the way that it's it's designed Now I think that there's gonna be some opportunity there as the season progresses

18:48For him to to improvise a little bit, but I think initially had to be able to run it the right way Yeah, I wait that's one of those I I don't know how that looks until we get to Sunday I just I mean we're all recklessly speculating at this point Yeah, I mean I could picture the offense and the kind of the bones of it because we see so much like it in the NFL But I I'm struggling to picture how often and how effectively jail and we'll run I hope it's you know pretty often And I hope it is obviously very effective because he used to be great at it and last year he just didn't do it much So we'll see that I just found an answer really interesting. 21:52It's not because for the most part most fans feel like You make the money that you make you should be able to do this that the third it doesn't work like that well Okay, but that's it is isn't that a reasonable expectation? It should pay to be one of the better players and well it's it's it's a logical in the sense that There's an adjustment period and that's fit that's fair They're saying there's an adjustment period, but people feel like because Jayla makes $60 million that $60 million automatically makes you should know the offense like right away It shouldn't but by the end of the year. Yeah, yeah, you should see some progress Yeah, I mean, I don't think it's crazy to ask by the end of the season his performance compared to the other quarterbacks Be somewhere in line with his salary. I do not disagree with that. What where is he probably now? You think he's 11 maybe 10 to 12 in salary for quarterbacks something that range right? So do not disagree with that to me He needs to look like one of the 10 to 12 best quarterbacks by the time the season ends and if he's 20 we have a problem Yeah, I mean, I do not disagree with that, but it's one of those things where it's still an adjustment

22:56But in fans mind it's like hey, you make such a such a mod of money. 26:01During the joint practice and stuff did pretty well against the defense and yesterday looking at him struggle I know it's a game versus joint practices, but kind of wanted to get you guys thoughts on that. It's a good question So I didn't think of it last what do you say now say it again? So he's saying that the Eagles defense seemed to struggle against the Patriots offense in the joint practice But last night the C.O.C. defense shut down the Patriots offense as a give us any pause So Glenn I didn't think about it last night. I did think about it during the joint practices I just I think we just have an assumption the Eagles defense will be great great and it will be very good I mean Vick Fandre they're gonna have a good defense, but I think you could be honest something right like we have a question market linebacker with Nikobi not here and we'll see how good Jihad is you know in fillin and Hughes I think safety is a major question. I mean it is it's we'll see how good McCubes They lost playing could chip they're gonna start apps and then the other thing Glenn I thought last night is you know we're excited about re-quollen It doesn't seem like the Seahawks miss re-quollen at all like they let him go and they didn't they don't that doesn't matter to them

27:02Well the reality of it is this it's it's matchups right at the end of the day when you talk about certain teams They match up better with other teams and and I think that what you're seeing last night is the fact that familiarity I think kind of played into that game a lot more even though there was new pieces when you talk about dobs and and AJ being out there the defense align for the Seattle Seahawks is fairly intact and They had a game plan that they probably were familiar with with the way that Drake may play you see what I'm saying Because the last game they played in was the Super Bowl right so now they're gonna probably take some of that game plan from the Super Bowl And implement that into this game not a whole lot but but but but probably the majority of it So what you actually saw last night to me was a little bit more familiarity with that team as opposed to another you know what I'm saying Yeah, that can be true and I do think the Eagles defense is gonna be good It is giving a little hesitation. I know it's different. So you can practice and go where you're talking about previously

28:04My only main concern is and you I think you may agree with me I'm this and is that what Joe and does struggle again. It's learning new offense But that put a lot of pressure on the defense and I think the worst thing for defense is being on the field too much Because then causes a lot more chance for errors and on this communications everything. Oh, I agree I mean that was the playoff game last year right against San Francisco We couldn't get up. You know, we couldn't sustain drives good call Glenn, but I will say this with this defense knowing what they know That they're probably they're probably gearing up to play a lot because the offense is gonna struggle I mean you kind of like as a defender you kind of know What's probably gonna be the case? You know the main so they're not they're preparing for it All right to our colors point and I don't I didn't I don't think he's sound in the alarms of the defense will not be good It will be good right with big fan geo a Carter Davis the corners. They're going to have a good defense Mm-hmm, but you we've I think we just have set out loud a lot like almost like a reflex one of the best defense to the NFL Yeah, are we and again this matters to an extent of how good the offense is right if they're the seventh best defense
