Strong communities are built in the places where life happens, where families build their lives, where students build their futures, where businesses create opportunity. Bloom Energy provides reliable power for the places communities depend on every day. From hospitals and college campuses to stores and factories, clean, quiet power that uses little water right where it's needed, so communities can keep moving forward. Bloom Energy. Power America relies on. This is the Don Han that Rosenberg podcast. That sounds like heaven to me. Listen live weekday afternoon starting at three on 80 ESPN, the ESPN New York app, and your smart speakers. For all three in the big city, Don Han and Rosenberg, take your little five o'clock, short show today because we're going to take you to coverage a game two between the brewers and the Dodgers. That'll be followed by the rays and the Guardians as the Guardians one two straight games against the White Sox to advance to the League Championship series.
But Peter, you were trying to make a point but just ran out of time at the three o'clock hour. So hopefully the thought is still in your head. It's still there. No. Okay. Do you guys remember last year there was a Bears Lions game and Lions were up 23-20. Caleb is driving the bears down the field. Yeah. Bears are close to field goal range. There's 10 seconds left. They run a play. They have a timeout in their pocket. They snap it like seven seconds. Whatever it is, he drops back. He errors it out towards the end zone. It's incomplete in the game. Just ends at zero. Yes. And it's a similar thing of like in this case though, there was the timeout in the pocket. And again, you could be making the argument to like Caleb, what are you doing? Why did you put the ball there? But you just can't help but think like how are people not calling the timeout for you? If they know you have the timeout in your pocket. It's just amazing if these things still happen. We were talking about this prior to the show starting. You have so many great minds when it comes to innovative calls.
But it's amazing to see NFL coaches who don't seem to have an awareness that fans have. Like that you like it's often with is it a coordinator thing? Is it because DQ is meant to be a defensive coordinator? And he still just doesn't fully have this down. Could be. Is that the issue? Like I just don't get it. That doesn't sound like a great look. It's I think it's a fair thought. I think there's a lot of coordinators that try to become head coaches and the all-encompassing part of it which isn't just, oh I have to balance now three units instead of one. It is also time management. It is player management. There's a lot happening. Affishing. You're dealing with a lot. There's a lot of voices in your headset. It's you have to have the mental wherewithal to be able to compartmentalize everything that's happening in a game. And it's not it's not for everyone as we've learned not everybody can do it. Well because I think they're all savants when it comes to play calling and game planning and understanding the ins and outs of winning a game
until it comes time to actually go out there and win it. Yeah. Because I think what's very underrated is how much analytics play a role in football and in decision-making. Every time we say all that that coach was showing some cubes going for it's no it's analytically worked out that this is what you're supposed to do. But when you have extenuating circumstances like a driving rain, poor field conditions. All right what are the percentages of a 46 yard field goal in those conditions? I know what the percentages are to kick a 46 or a 42 yard field goal in normal situations in a dome on turf on a you know gorgeous October afternoon. But what's it like in a driving rain storm when field goal kickers are missing extra points and chip shop field goals in the game. Now you've got to make real time decisions and I don't know if sometimes these head coaches are equipped to do that. All right this is what I do in this situation and that situation it's all rehearsed and played out before the game is even played. But sometimes the cards aren't going to tell you what to do. You're just going to have to know what to do and fall back at the experience of that.
Especially when you got young quarterbacks you talked about last year what can I be was a rookie. You know Jaden Daniels in his third year is it really his third year you didn't play barely all of last year. Well by the way I mentioned this earlier too and I know I'm giving him a lot of slack here. Forgive me but like hey are you remembering that he's just coming back like today there's a lot going on. Maybe you want to be extra on top of him in his first game back adjusting to the brace. Do whatever you need to do to cuddle him a bit and get him through the situation. Maybe they had just a lot of confidence in him. They just like he's generally on point and so they went to sleep on it but like so many people here seem to drop the ball. All right let's get back to the calls. I got to take this one when the slug is you're all wrong. Let's go to Herb and Amityville here on ESPN. Herb. Hey how you guys doing. Good. I'm just trying to understand after each team has a possession the next score wins the game.
Right. There's no plan for well we got to kill the clock or we got to get the clock down. Well you do if you miss the field goal. If you miss the field goal or believe them time. All right we confused them with the right answer so let's go to Tessa and let's call while you're on ESPN New York. I Tessa. Hey guys thanks for letting us take my call. I appreciate it. Yeah I think you definitely did confuse that call when you just provided you know a fact. But anyway I have two ways I'm feeling today. I had a third way it's full. The second way is content. I'm full because I was like full of so many like I'm bashing my head against the wall completely moving. Then I was full because I'm so excited for winning. Then I was full again because oh my god we just about to lose this freaking game. Thanks so much. And then the last one was oh my god thank you commanders for this tie. And I'm content because I'm going to be honest with you the way we play second has and the way Jameson really showed out and really really just carried us in likely and and um Malik is like please let us win.
So it's just like I'm very content with the tie. No it's not a win but it's not a damn sure not a loss. And I'm going to keep it real as you I feel like in my opinion I do agree with Peter. I think um for the first time I think he in all time. But anyway I think because Jaden was just coming back I really think somebody and I do not think it was Dan Quinn the way he reacted at the outline. I think whoever else is in his ear gave him a plate of run and I think they said if you get caught up or if you got a big hit say do you. I think it was something like that because he looked too lost when they was about to bottle him up and then he was on that ground. I think he didn't know what to do because nobody told him what else to do. I really do I think they told him like if you get bottled up it just makes something happen. I don't know what it is and as far as compatible I agree we got to complete confidence in our kicker so it wasn't that we didn't think he was going to come through we needed to make sure he come through. So of course get as close as you can but Cam did too much this time we didn't need you to do all of that Cam. Hold the ball high and tight two hands.
Soon as they bottle you up get down and he did not do it. So I agree with that call because I was worried about the kicker. I said please get it to at least 40. Get it to 39. I was not happy with a 46 shorter. He just missed the other one. So I was very okay with that call. I was very okay with that call. I never the million store Cam would go still be trying to fight. What are you doing? I can't say just down. Cam what is wrong with you. And I hope the test I'm hoping Alan said it earlier. Test and thank you for the phone call. Is that hopefully this is a learning you know as much as he wants to be that guy to do it all sometimes just you know getting tackled and living to fight another play is the thing to do. And but two plays before he's not good people. I mean this is a guy they like it seems to initiate contact. He'd rather run through you than around you. And that's fine until the day comes where you try to do a little bit too much. And he fumbled the football. But it is kind of crazy guys. I was just looking at social media. There are a lot of people just like that previous caller. The game ends if you kick the field goal. Why are they running out the client?
I'm glad all these people were so sure that the kickers were going to kick the field goals. I know. As it has it has it becomes so automatic now that people just assume anytime there's going to be a game winning field goal. It's automatically going to be good because because if they if you watch that whole game tell me you were confident in even extra points. No, not in that weather. No way. Not in that weather. You wanted to get as close as possible. And the understanding is just so anybody that does doesn't understand what we're talking about. It is not you wanted to have no time on the clock. If you scored they couldn't answer because we knew by then it was sudden death. The point is is if there was a miss this is this is preparing for the worst which is what you do in coaching. You have to have a contingency plan in case plan A doesn't work. And plan A not working means missing the field goal. What's your plan B? Plan B is we only left them two seconds. We didn't leave them any time. That's the point. You knew that the giants didn't have a timeout.
So there was nothing they could do other than just chuck it up and hope for something big. But they were never going to be able to chuck it up hope for something big and get a field goal. There was not enough time for that. And if I remember correctly the Donovan McNabb over time remember when they tied the bangles I believe it was and Yeah, and he thought there was a second overtime. You thought there was another overtime. Yeah. That would kind of make sense here wouldn't it? The Daniels think they would just play a second quarter of overtime. Well, you know who said that? I saw an interview with Pinnock from the giants. He had never in his career played in a playoff in an overtime game before. And he said he's never had a tie before I think he was. Something like that. But he said when it was over they said it's over and he's like I thought I thought oh is there a second overtime? Like I don't think I don't think a lot NFL players know the rules. But this was this was Donovan McNabb. No, he should know. And he wasn't like a rookie when he did it.
Well, but Pinnock's been in the league like you think he'd know that there's no second overtime. Yeah, this is a tie. This is only the third tie the giants have had in going on 30 years. All right, the last one was 22 the time before that was 97. Ironically all three of their last three have been against the commander slash redskins. Kind of crazy and the previous two times they made the playoffs. So I guess that's good news. Good old man. But Peter I agree with you that probably isn't the answer. But who are we to knock anything off the table at this point when we're this dumbfounded on what happened. Shouldn't everything at least be negotiable at this point? No, I think you're everything like on the table because because nothing else makes sense. Like I just can't I can't find a way to make sense of it. And I'm and I'm super bummed because my when when they were about to punch in the field goal to win the game. I thought wow. I narrowly avoided what was going to be such an annoying day on the show tomorrow. I'm so glad they at least one and at least I can come in and go see guys.
Jane I think Jane's going to be all right. I think he knows. Think he knows what to do guys. I think he threw for over 200 yards 68 percent completion percentage rushed for 100 yards and two scores. His decision making all day was totally everything was there. And then you just it's it's I just I don't it's I use it. Is it the ghost of dance nighter? What what why you are why did this happen? You are feeling it. I just want it and I just I want I know one thing though. And again, I'm sure Dan Quinn is a good man. I don't want Ron Rivera. I don't want Dan Quinn. I don't want a a a re a retread of a guy who's never won a Super Bowl. If you're giving me a retread, it has to be John Harball. It has to be Mike Tomlin. Those are the only viable retreads in my opinion guys. Otherwise a retread for someone who's never made it to the top. I feel like it almost always goes this way. Of course, Andy reads the biggest exception of all time.
None of us were sure he would go on to be one of the great coaches we've ever seen. But I feel like so often otherwise guys. These retreads just aren't it. I'd so much rather find next young hot coordinator who is going to become a great quarterback. It just seems like in the case of guys like Dan Quinn, Ron Rivera before him and others kind of feels like the game has passed them by in these moments. I know that's tough to say, but like how can anyone explain? You're telling me Sean McVeigh or Kyle Shanahan or Matt LaFloor or or go on chapter and verse any of these younger guys who knows what they're doing. They're having this moment happen. I just can't see it. Can't. All right, let's go scott and Virginia. You're on Don Hanna Roosevelt. Hey, so I just wanted to say I agree with the fact that with them giving scottable the ball. And I'm a team in real time. I was waiting for Winston the third in the section. So when scottables started getting the ball and started running, I would like keep running get as close as you came because you already missed some field goals.
And so I love that he just made the mistake. But I think it was a good call. I think it was the right call as well. It's so easy scott and thank you for the call in retrospect. You know, I only fun with the wall. Obviously it was the wrong call. Yeah, I guess it was. But if he had missed that field goal, there wouldn't be a ton of phone call saying why didn't they try to get closer? Why didn't they run with scatabo? They weren't able to stop them the last couple of plays. What the heck are they doing? Right? Yes. So of course, especially after those two runs. He ran over them and he put them in position. Those were strong tough runs. So you're like, yeah, feed him one more time. Like I said, if he didn't say this after the game, I wouldn't have felt this way or at least I wouldn't be as confident in saying this. But the fact that the kid after the game said it, I was trying to get more yards. That's how I'm built. I fight for every yard. And in that situation, I shouldn't do that.
Like he admitted it that he screwed up by just being greedy. Which is what makes him great. But in that situation, he said, I can't do that. And he, it killed, he was crushed after the game. Guys were talking about it like how we don't need to talk to him. He knows what he did. Like they were trying to keep his, you know, pump his tires a little bit, make them feel better. But, you know, he was feeling that he was feeling that from. Let's go to Steve and new Fairfield, your on ESPN New York. Yeah, he was talking about that. It's a lot of stuff. What's up, baby? What's up? Um, did you get any, is it a good feel for the Jack game or not? I know you were kind of torn for three or two games. No, I got a feel for it. It was ugly, but I watched. They start to get up when they need to offensively. And they have that. Yeah, it was definitely. I just, if you take away from that game, a brain run ran where I thought Garrett was the typical man. Barely out of his, you know, his mobile was nonstop. So that was a good sign.
And I thought all offensive lines blocking, good run blocking, but the past rushes really, I think they've been a little poor. So that way could keep genos under pressure almost every game. So, you know, it was really good. I mean, that way. Well, Geno, Geno doesn't move. Yeah, that's cool. Geno, kind of like Bart is the only say Pat the baby. Little too much sometimes. But again, I, I know it issue with their offense. I think their offense has a chance to be really good if they're healthy because they are missing breeze. But yeah, they've got, I mean, that can't be a lie. It sucks that he's got the concussion thing because, you know, hey, and Garrett, like they've got, they've got legit weapons offensively. Would you notice? So, I mean, I don't know if I short-term memory with this or not. I don't know if things got a little salary last year and cleaning got traded and sauce. And those are both good moves. But Quincy Williams, man, he was all over the place. I'm like, damn, how do we have a let him go? It's only making 17 for two. I mean, he is exposed to them, just walked up.
They made me really long for him again. Those are three forced fumbles. And lucky for the kids. Yeah, and just wrapped him over one of them. He always said, absolutely personal. A little personal. A little personal. You think? A little extra motivation. Yeah, definitely. Definitely. Yeah, there were some thunderous hits in that game. Yeah. That was that, that was an old school game. And listen, barely cap right to the fans that sat through that man. That you can just see on television. And of course, I don't live that far away. You know, about 45 minutes away from the state. But driving rain. So that was a tough day to be out there. If you don't know the ring. Did you see the hit that's Patrick put on? That was dangerous, man. On Casey. And it was just really scary to see. He's knocked out. He's completely unconscious. And that was a vicious helmet to helmet. Was another one of those penalties, right? They had a they had a bad face mask penalty. Again, too many penalties. How many they ended up having? I think it was 10 or 11. Yeah, I think double digits again.
Yeah, 10 or 11. Listen, that's nothing to write home about. Like listen, the jets are in a situation where there are no style points anymore. They've got to win games. I think this is the only way they can win them. But again, same issues that they always have. Whether it's getting off the field on third down or getting third down conversions, turning the ball over. They were lucky. They didn't have more turnovers than they did. And the penalties, keeping drives alive. Too many penalties, too many yards. That's always going to fall on the shoulders of the coach, right? So you take it, you're on your two and three, which ironically enough is exactly where every jet band want them in the bay. All right, well, when the first game will lose the three games against the NFC North, then we'll come back, we'll beat the Browns, and then we'll see what we can do against the Patriots. Well, again, it's looked ugly and it's not been good, but technically, they're where they need to be. Well, that's why the just getting W's is so important. Like if it's not pretty, if it's against bad teams, guys, at the end of this whole thing,
we're going to end up making major judgments based on a lot of it's going to be based on the record. Of course, Alan, it's what it looks like. It's all the different things, but you can't even have the conversation. If there's no W's, there's no conversation to be at. But here's the problem, Peter, that I fear is going to happen. They're going to win enough games to save Aaron Glence job, but we're all going to look at each other and go, I still don't know if he's a good coach or not. I don't know if he's going to happen. If he only squeezes by Cleveland, the Tennessee win, a squeezes by Miami, if they only get those without any other interesting surprising wins, that's it's squity by the worst four win. I mean, what's the number down? They got to get to at least for what you're saying. They got to seven. They've got two now. They got two games against Miami. I think they had a couple of other winnable games. There's Arizona. Is that in there? Arizona is there. You know, and everybody thinks they might be able to get a lead.
I don't think if they go 0 and 6 in the division, I mean, are they going to go 0 and 4 against the Patriots and the bills? Everybody thinks they might squeeze one out there. And what if you almost beat Kansas City? Again, right now, they're two and three, and I think they look awful. But yet, they've been in most of the games. The bare game is the only game in which they've got it went on. You know what's funny, Don? Yeah, it like you come away from games just going like, oh my god, it just doesn't feel like it's a well-orile machine. But yet, statistically, defensively, they've actually been pretty good. And as I said earlier, offensively, there's moments where you look at what they've got, and you just say to yourself, they can be really good. Well, they've got skill guys everywhere. And that's the thing, Alan, is that it's probably not going to be bad enough to fire him. But I don't think it's going to be good enough to say, I'm confident he's going to be a good coach. And now you're going to roll the dice in year three, hoping that they got it right. And if they didn't, well, then that's another year wasted.
And then scrambling for another. And then that's also going to mean too, that changing coaches with the new young quarter back, we're going to draft it. You just would rather know either way. And I just have a feeling that when the 17 game season is over, we're not going to know. Hang in there a few or a caller because we've got the binge coming up next with Peter Rosenberg, Don on the Roosevelt with you till five o'clock. Ah, ladies and gentlemen. Another week. Another binge. And this was a crazy week in the NFL. As it always seems to be week five in the books. Can you believe it guys? It's crazy. We're already we'll be breaking down week six now in this coming week. Another London game. Another bizarro finish. The Eagles had to go ahead. Feel go with eight seconds left. By the way, what if if you want to get frustrated with analytics guys, the Jaguars could have been up 15 points if they settled for field goals. They would go into the red zone over and over and over and never score any points. So as it turned out, the Eagles get to go ahead. Feel go with eight seconds left. But then a 53 yard return by Jacksonville sets them up with a chance to win the whole thing with one second left on 10 10 XL 92.5 FM. Let's hear it. Seven high little kicks it up. The 57 yard field goal is
good. Good. Good. They won a 57 yard field goal by Cam little. Can you believe that? The Jaguars break the Eagles. 1917 Eagles coach Nick Cereani not thrilled with the loss. Football we want and football to be as black and white as we possibly can. But there's great in it. Right. You know, there is great in it. There's really nothing else to say. I didn't make the decision. The right decision in that situation. They returned it to where they returned it. And then they made a credit to them on that and bad job by me. The last thing you could afford to do is let them get a return full steam ahead. That's what happened. And it was enough. The Jaguars win are the 49ers, the best team in the NFL. Yes. Kittle attached left as well. McCaffrey in the backfield, Purdy in the shotgun. Here's the snap. CMC. Brock drops back. Looks pressured. Oh, get out of there. Rolls out to the left. Brock still looking. Still looking. Throws. And it is. Cut.
Pucks got it. His first catch is a 49er. And the 49ers take the lead back. I was watching this game. Sorry. I'm pleased to finish that. Sorry. Just San Francisco, Beat Seeattle 32 29 there now. 5 and 0. They'll take on my commanders next Monday. Whoof. What do you got out? No, I was just, I apologize for jumping in there. I forgot you didn't give the final score. The, the, that game looked like a, I said this in our group, like a different level, like another league compared to what we were watching in the afternoon. Like those two teams are just elite. And the Niners are so well coached and Brock Purdy for a guy picked dead last. Could he, is he not the perfect fit for Shanahan's offense and all of like he almost thinks just like exactly what Shanahan wants. He's thinking it. It's unbelievable. How that's come together. But man, it does not look like the same brand of football that we watch
every now. Now we're used to that over the years, but it is getting a little better. It's still not close, but that does look a little better than it did over the last five, six years or so. But yeah, no, that's, that's the real deal. 49ers. 5 and 0. Now let's stay out West. The chargers have themselves a problem. Trips left, single receiver right. Herbert in the shotgun. They move again. No penalty flag. Herbert throws. Ball is intercepted in the flag. Intercepted in down the sideline. That is Brandon Jones with the pitch. That is from KOA in Denver. Broncos beat the chargers 2317, which also means they cover guys. The chargers dropped to 0 and 5. And that is a home loss as well. The other harbock guys just not feeling it right now. This is not what you want. And they could be facing a full blow up situation. Why, why, why, why, why, why, are they getting rid of McDaniel as the OC? Let's start there. It has not worked. Herbert's not the same.
Yeah, this is they have gone completely backwards on. Yeah, it's too good of a quarterback to be on an 0 and 5 football team, but it is completely gone sideways. How do we do with our picks by the way guys? I think we did well. We got tonight's two and all two and all two and all with tonight in tonight in the that's really going to be a difference maker for us, right? Because that's the one we have different from them. Right, because they had the jets. Yep. And they had the Texans. Yeah. They've got, you know, but they took the chargers and we've got a chance to cover with the Rams. Yep. So we'll see what happens there. Well, there was a game that I liked guys, but we didn't we didn't talk about it too in depth. That we didn't touch it. And that was I liked the Ravens to potentially take advantage of the great line because they had the backup quarterback. Tyler Snoop Huntly in Sunday night football. Ravens force OT with the TD on their final possession. Two a tongue of a low ed come in for an injured Michael Penex, late in the fourth, but he could not get it done. He's on Robinson to the right of two out of the shotgun. Delta.
That's half of my low a steps up. Bro's deals. It's intercepted. Pyle Hamilton. The Atlanta maintenance makes the play to seal an overtime win for the Ravens. There you have it. Baltimore survives. No Lamar. No problem. 3023. The Ravens do what good football teams do and they beat the Falcons without their starting quarterback. Is Penex ever going to be a thing in the NFL, guys? People were just starting to say so. I mean people. It's not yeah. It's a huge difference in their offense when he when he came back in comparison to whatever they were playing a quarterback before him. And that is your NFL binge for week five. We hit it and quit it, baby. That a ball. I don't know if that's appropriate, but I did well, you know, with wall. Well, the last cut you played, I heard it this morning. Not the whole thing, but the first few seconds,
it sounds like Bob was choosing. No, it happens into the right of two out of the shotgun. Delta is now coming by low a steps up. Bro's No, I don't hear it. No, you're probably right. Just something nice. Let's get back to the phone. Shall we? We only got to five o'clock today, kids. Last call crew because then we're going to be handing it off to baseball, Dodgers and the Brewers. So where do we go? Let's go to Victor in the Bronx. You're on ESPN, New York. What's up, Victor? Hey, how you doing? First time cohort, the only time listening. I was watching the Giants game on the last drive. I was so excited and so nervous, but the number one thing that popped into my head was our whole scatter booth doesn't fumble. Because we already have five, four or five going into the season. So that was my number one thing that I kept saying. Keep pushing as close as you can. Even if you can get a touchdown, but I knew the kick that had missed his previous three and he was nine to start off the season.
So I said to myself that they can just work the clock and get closer to the end zone. Maybe get a touchdown or get at least closer to the end zone so the kick could be a lot closer. And once he fumbled, it just kind of broke my heart. But then I wasn't too nervous about what it's been scoring. The only person that scared me with their news because he asked score twice already. But the defense team by the Giants kind of shut that down. So my thing to you guys and the question, you Peter, after watching this fan, and my opinion, I felt like the two people that should know the clock by heart and how much time it's left to be the coach and the quarterback. Correct. How did that go wrong with the time? No, you're 100% right. And all Dan said after the game, Peter was that they were trying to burn more of the clock.
Right? That's the only thing he had to say after that, he really didn't have a, it couldn't understand what happened. But I think the call was right. The head coach should know it. Timescore situation. The quarterback should know. Timescore situation. He should say it in a huddle guys, we have no time out. So whatever happens here, get back on the line just in case we've got a clock it, right? We don't we don't know what happened. But based on all the information that we have and what Quinn said after the game and what some, even though there's been some inconsistency on what we said in the huddle. If he's trying to, if he wants to run a play and gain yards, that he's defended why there's a play and not a kick. Now you could say should have just kicked the ball. And I guess a retrospect that'd be the answer because of what happened. But he can't expect it still comes back down, the Daniels not throwing the ball away. So Peter, we talked about the semantics of the, the percentages of who's right and who's wrong. It's still the higher percentages, Daniels.
He has to know I got to get rid of the ball. Again, what you're saying makes sense. I hear you. It just seems there's so many other things that were wrong here that it's hard for me to put it all on him. The general, the, the, the the play call being so weird, Quinn himself said that was the play. But why would you run him, but also why run him under center there? Drop him back in the shotgun. If you drop him in shotgun, there's nothing there. He throws it away easily. But guys, he backed up by the time he backed up, he already lost his pocket. You said you said why is that the play? But the play, because they hit the line of scrimmage with what 15 seconds left on the clock, right? So there's as much as 24 seconds when they're huddling up. So this was going to be their last play to get yards. Time is not even an issue. The last thing Quinn's thinking is is that we're going to run out of time because if he doesn't have anything, he'll throw it away. So let's just try to get a quick play.
I agree with you that there could have been a play that guys weren't close enough to add a bounds or whatever. But that's where I defend Quinn. It's like, I'm going to run a play here. And if the worst comes, the worst nothing's there, my quarterback's going to throw it away. And I'm still going to have the clock's going to stop. And then it doesn't matter how much time is left. Don, it comes back to what you said to your children at the end of that game while you were punching a chair. But I don't want to call him a moron. But he made, honestly, at the end of the day, Peter, it's the more I think about it, the more we've talked about it, it's on Daniels. Daniels screwed it up. And if you want to say Quinn is wrong for trusting him, Quinn's wrong for running a play to allow him to screw it up. But there was still time. All he has to do is fire the ball into the ground. But did you watch the play though? How is he firing the ball into the ground once that play is run? Well, just at any point. He's like, all right, none zero. I'll just throw it out of the ounce. But watch the play. He literally backs up. He's completely under it that said, if he'd been in the shotgun,
done that so easy, you're in the shotgun. You're taking throw it at someone's feet. Why would he under center? It made no sense. Play call. That's what I'm saying. Right. When you say you think it's one thing, exactly. So right when you say you think it's one thing, you look at something else and go, but how? But there might have been a look either way at some, even if the play is awful, it's up to him to either audibleize Adam and are just saying, you know what? And I'm throwing it away. There's nothing here. Maybe they thought they were going to get a look from the giants to try to steal a few yards. It's not there. You have to trust your quarterback to then, you know, fire it into the ground, throw it away. Not do what he did. What he did is completely inexcusable. And now before you're casted by your head coach, well, yeah, but now you're talking about who's more to blame? The kid who's played 20 games total in his life and is back after being gone for a couple of weeks or the veteran head coach who makes 15 12 15 million dollars a year. So you make the right decisions down the stretch. Sorry, sorry. I know you'll love the kid both. They're both. No,
no, but no, but now I'm more with you. Don saying no, he lands on jaden. I can't do that. You got on. I'm done. Jaden. I go. I go. I'm stuck. He's the security. But he's the security play. He that is a moronic play by Daniels. Moronic. There's still plenty of time for him to just throw it away. And he never throws it away. So how could it not eventually fall on him? Even if there were mistakes before, the secure the failsafe is when it all blows up, Daniels throws it away and the clock stops with five seconds to go and we kick a field goal in the game. And he's running around that and he allows himself to get tackled. That's the that's the fault right there. You're asking Quinn to design a play where he doesn't allow his quarterback to do something moronic. Well, then I can understand, but still it's your quarterback doing something moronic. He's your starting quarterback. What else you can let's do? But don't we can do this till we're blue in the face. This it's been argued across the NFL world today. Most people seem to think this is more on your head coach because you're talking about the last thing. So you're saying fine. Does the absolute
last moment fall on Daniels? Sure, absolutely does. Can we stop playing the game like they needed to wind the clock down? Kick the damn field goal. Okay. Well, then why are we even doing this? Like that's my Tom Lins. My Tom Lins point yesterday was he said, but it's over time and both teams have scored the second you get into legitimate close field goal range. You bring out the field goal unit and the game. That to me. Now, you're right. In that final moment, Daniels at the very least could have just shocked it out of bounds as far as he possibly could. But by the way, don't you also risk of grounding then at that point? If you don't do it right. I was going to mention that if there's no one in the area, you can get a grounding because he's in the pocket. Now you get a grounding and you back your back. I do feel like though we're going round and round on this. It was that's why I said what I said. Don it was a moronic moment. And there's a lot to blame. The Giants took advantage of it. Give credit to a couple of those linemen that made sure to trip accidentally over the football and not let the referee put it in place because remember,
they can't snap until the referee touches it. So he puts, you know, so the referee can't touch the ball because guys are stepping on it and tripping on it. Like it worked in the Giants favor. And in the end, both teams walked off mad because tie is. Yeah, no, exactly. And I'll tell you, it made me very angry. And I like situations when I don't feel angry, but I feel listen to and I feel heard. The brewers. So there's a lot of things we just didn't get to today. We would have given the jets more love had we had more time and certainly to talk about Igor Shostirkin being done for the year with the New York Rangers is injured himself in Washington on Friday and the news came down on Saturday that he's going to be out for the year. That's devastating news for the Rangers. So we have tomorrow. We've got we've got plenty of time to get into it on Tuesday. So we do a lot of other and another another former Yankee coming out and taking shots at what the organization has become. A lot of voice is done saying a lot of things about what the Yankees aren't in more. So a lot of this will get to tomorrow. Time for one last call. Let's go to Charlie and Queen Geron Don on a Roosevelt. What's up Charlie? Yeah guys, I know I we talk about the giant gang that is beaten to death. I just want to talk about two coaching decisions that were terrible. The one by Sirianni you should have had a die kick the ball out of the end zone. They have to take it out with eight seconds ago to let it feel. I was stupid to let him to guy run it back and even I
am in Gwen made one but he made a mistake when he was up for by five points. He's going to kick the extra points and got up by six. He went for two and now it's touchdown. It's lucky they've won the game. So he got away with it but that was a mistake too. But Sirianni did that last week too. He was up by I think ten and he could have kicked the field off on the ten-year online. He looked like touchdown and they wound up losing. So I just want to get your opinion on that. Yeah that's the point. We discussed it Donnie the pre show that the decision didn't end up costing them but you know you go for two there and you ensure that they've got to get seven and an extra point which we know was not a given on a day like that in the weather. And instead he just takes like you go for two there and it gives you the ability to force them to have to kick to tie and you know it's not a given and instead the four or five point doesn't matter. It was getting to six was important and it didn't hurt them but it was an interesting decision
there. It's interesting because those are the easy analytic decisions right. They'll go on this score we go for two on this score we go for one. Yeah but again it didn't hurt them. It didn't cost them but that's just where we're at here. So lots to get into tomorrow as I said we'll do more on the jets we'll do more on the Yankees we'll do more on the Rangers with the Gorshasturken being out. I've got to move over at six thirty if you want to launch a MSG television. I've got the the Devils and the Senators here at the Rock.
