Hour two on this Thursday, Gangs all here ready to go. Fritzy and Dylan in the back row up front. It's Paulie and Marvin. You're truly in the backroom guys as well. Stad of the day has always brought you by. Penini America, the official trading cards of the program Sunday night, two teams now this is what NBC sent me. So I'm going to read it the way they sent it to me. Sunday night,
two teams with my all high expectations. Collide in Denver when the Rams take on the Broncos in prime time. Sunday night football. NBC. Ready time. That was excellent. Thank you. I am so I wish the gate was tonight. I'm so ready for that. But this package Falcons game. Let's go. Watch it Sunday night. That's Fox. That's not the way one. Cause the NFL rocks on NBC. Todd loves his theme song music. TV shows. It'll be just random time in the day and you'll walk by and Todd will be humming it. Go ahead. Give us a random theme song to a TV show. Maybe a TV show will be well, the world don't move to the beat of just one drug. What might be right for you may not be right for some man is wrong. I can sing the whole thing. Cause y'all learn
in the facts of life. Yes. Well, and Todd does this all day in the hallways. And so like if it's it's also seasonal dependent football time he does those. But it's if it's the NCAA tournament Todd. What am I going to hear? Oh, that's uh, CBS sports coverage of the road to the final falls. What's you by? Penzoil stop. Go. Penzoil. We'd like to say good morning. We'd like to say good morning to Baltimore, Maryland. Fox sports 1370 AM. Hopefully we're still on 9 AM to 12 Eastern market manager. Any Andy Grimshaw. Third, taking out to the southeast region. My Georgetown is about to upset North East Louisiana state. Do you know the Thursday night theme music for football tonight?
No, really. And I love those guys. I just I'm all about to Sunday and Monday themes. I don't think Thursday really has a big theme. I don't know. Amazon. I'm a Friday. Big. Yo, here we go. That's right. That's you're just making that up. Falcon's down the Packers in Lambo. No, no, no, no. The Falcons are getting five and a half against the Green Bay Packers. The deceptive Green Bay Packers. I'm not sure how good they are. I know how good they should be. I don't know how good they are right now because if the uh, Jets had anybody in there who knew how to have clock management, they would have won that game. Alrighty. 8773DP show email address dpadampatric.com twitter handle at dp show. We'll talk to the head coach at Delaware State to Sean Jackson, but he's so much more than that. Got a documentary out and uh, he's had a he's had a road and he is a very colorful character there. Great high school athlete obviously with football. He was going to go to USC,
but they gave the number that he used in high school to another recruit. So he went to Cal and uh, became a second round pick and has more 60 plus 60 yards or more touchdowns in NFL history. I think it's like 26. Yeah, Paul. Yeah, he was a great deep threat. He averaged 18 yards of catch for his career and in four different seasons, he led the NFL in yards per reception. Chris Collinsworth who has the and still has the longest touchdown pass thrown in college football history 99 yards. He'll join us in an hour from now. The giant's made it official. They've lost Jackson Dard for the season with knee surgery. I guess there's a chance that. Yeah, the update on Jackson Dard according to the coach is out for the regular season and uh, he didn't talk anything about the preseason or postseason. Yes, here is John Harball talking about that.
That's a big loss for sure. He's starting quarterback self loss. What's the time regular season? You said regular season. He's like hopeful that maybe he can come back for those seasons. That was your saying there. I think I said it. Yeah, well, you got to think positive here. I mean, you got to send a message to your team. The season isn't lost just because you lost your starting quarterback. Yes, Marvin. Do you think coach should have said this? Playoffs. Don't talk about playoffs. Yeah, that probably would have been more apropos when you're you're over undergoes from seven and a half to five and a half. That is sending a message, I think, to your team. Pull question from hour one or pull questions. Plural, Dylan from hour one. And what are we going to go with hour two? For starters, who you got tonight, Falcons are Packers. 85% of our audience is taking the Packers. And that means I will be taking the Falcons tonight. You're taking the five and a half. I am. Or are you taking the
money line? I'm going to take the I'm like a money line. You know, you just talk me into it. It's that easy. No, I'm not trying to talk you into anything. I'm trying to talk you out of making stupid bets. Yes, Paul. Dylan is easily goaded. I just turned towards him and gave him like a look and I'll take the Falcons. All right. Okay. And we had such a great week last week. We had a successful gambling podcast for change. Yeah, I just I don't know if I can get used to that. I got to the moment things are going good. I'm like, what's past the waters here? What else do we have? Pull question ones. So the best road trip song picked by the four of us. Sorry, Dan. I only had room for four. Okay. So Paul had run and down a dream by Tom Petty. Marvin had touched the sky by Kanye West. Todd had I have the Tiger by survivor. Everyone knows that. And I had this must be the place by the talking heads. Would you like to guess who's running away with it?
I'm going to guess I have the Tiger by survivor. No, Dan. You are incorrect. It's Paul is running down a dream with 63% and then unfortunately Todd's in second place. Congratulations. I know it'd be in the top two. I told you guys it's tough. We're going to be last place. Everyone's saying that song is terrible. Trip in Vegas. High trip. What do you have for me today? Hey, good morning, D.P. At a quick music story for you. You're not a request from Todd. You know, we're talking about I the Tiger at the end of the day. We play music through the restaurant in this girl. She's in her 20s. She was singing I the Tiger and we asked if she knew the song, where it was from. And she told us it was her favorite death leopard song. So there's that. And then if things song request, if I could get a few bars of greatest American hero, please, Todd. Look at what's happened to me. I can't believe it myself. Suddenly I'm upon top of the
world. Could have been somebody else. Believe it or not, I'm walking on air. I never thought I can feel so free. Bring it on. Thank you, Todd. Last line. Believe it or not. It's just me. Johnny and Pittsburgh. Hi, Johnny. Follow that. We do believe you it's just you for T 6 4 8. So you guys were talking about road trips. I vote for talking heads. I mean, huge talking heads, man. Also, if you're going to be on the road trip, Neil Diamond, no, not Neil Diamond. Paul Simon's greatest hits and Stevie Wonder's greatest hits are great. Just let it play. So my question for you guys are on that whole theme. What is your break of taking a road trip?
Like I got to go to Lambo to see the bills in December. And it's 11 hours. So for me, it's like six hours, typically I fly or I you know versus drive. I want to know where that breaking point is. And I'm the theme of music. I'm wondering it's been a while. If you guys are going to do at least one more set of the day rendition soon. As far as somebody else doing a stat of the day. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's been a while. I mean, I don't know if Todd's not, you guys have had a musical guest, you know, like Twittle or you know, yeah, it's been a while since we've had a new rendition. Yeah, I guess we can I haven't thought about that. Yes, Todd. We can regroup and discuss who we might like to do that. And then we'll reach out. You never know. And hopefully one or more will participate. That'd be fun. That what did that mean? I just said, like maybe Billy Joel or somebody or a Darrell Hall or somebody will just say, Billy Joel. Darrell Mac for rendition. Somebody
would like to say why don't do the stat of the day for us. Okay, you think you're surprised. How about you get Billy Joel? I'm going to work on Billy Joel. We were trying to get Steven Wilson Jr. And when he joined us in studio and we ask his management, hey, what do you do it? And then they're like, yeah, he'll do it. And then it's the last we heard became this big time star. And he's probably going, I'm not going to do a stat of the day. I'm a big time country music star. You know, we got Pandora to do it. And if we can get Pandora to do it, then we should be able to get Billy Joel to do it as well. Thank you, Ryan. Johnny, Ryan in Tampa. Did we already go to him, Marvin? Hey, good morning, Dan. Hello, go yet. Bear with me. I'm on the Bluetooth. So hopefully you guys can hear me. But I just had a song recommendation for the guy on the road trip, Desert Raven by Jonathan Wilson. It is a banger. It's about
an eight minute song to you and cover for this. And yeah, also wanted to give a quick shout out to the raise and the new ownership. They're absolutely killing it. They brought back those road great movies. I know Marvin will be my back on those. That's a desire. But yeah, it's all I got. Hey. All right. Thank you, Ryan. Thank you. Rick in New York. Hi, Rick. Right. I just wanted to say that I think Jimmy Carapola would be a good choice for the Giants. His brother, Harbaugh took him to the Super Bowl, probably knows all his distance and outs. And he had a couple years there with the Rams quarterback with players. Sure. Yeah. I don't know where he is on the depth chart. Is he back up quarterback? Do we know that Marvin is he second string or third string quarterback looking right now? Okay. Do we know where Jimmy G is? He's with the Rams, isn't he?
No, I don't think he is. No, yeah, Paul. I don't have Garoppolo on a roster if I got double check that. Well, I thought that he was with the Rams, but now that they got a couple of quarterbacks, young quarterbacks there. I don't know. Is Jimmy G for is he available? Yeah, might not be a bad pick-up. Yeah, Dylan. Yes, so he was on the Rams roster last season, but I believe now he's a free agent. Yes, Todd. Our friends at ChatGPT Ed, he's been open to returning in 2026 under the right circumstances. Speaking for him, what is the right circumstance? That's a great question. I would say the Giants would be the right circumstance. Yes, Paul. The Rams depth chart right now, of course, Matthew Stafford, Stetson Bennett, Ty Simpson, third string. Yeah. All right. Well, he did spend some time out there under Sean McBae. Yes, Dylan. Is it possible we're being too mean to Jamis? He did get thrown into the fire. He clearly,
I mean, the look on his face, he had no clue that he was going to be playing, obviously, but I think if you know he's now he's going to have to settle in for the season, I think we might see a different side of him. Well, he looked horrible when he came in after Jackson, dark gutter. He looked unprepared, which is the worst thing you could say about a quarterback. He was unprepared. Now, I'm sure he's thinking I'm not going in, but if I do, I should be able to run the offense here. He did not look good at all. Now I'm going to give him time to prepare. I mean, still has the talent to be able to be a serviceable quarterback. I think the problem with Jamis is he thinks he's better than what he is and he tries to make bigger plays. There's only one bread far, but there's that feeling of, hey, I got a lot of talent here. You do, but you don't use it wisely. Yes, Marvin. But if you're Jamis, I can understand him feeling that way. He was a number overall
pick. He was a high-smotrophy winner. So his entire life up until this point, he's been able to just make it happen. Yeah, but he's bounced around. He's a backup quarterback. But in his head, he's still that guy. Look, I didn't say he was correct. He might be delusional, but in his head. In our heads, he's not. Yeah. He needs to get inside his own head to realize that's why he's a backup quarterback, not a starting quarterback. Yes, Paul. There are a couple reports that the New York Giants could sign Brandon Allen, who was on the roster before, and they do have a guy named Jake Hainer on their practice squad. Yeah. What about Tommy Cutlitz? Can he come back and save the giant? Is he a Patriot? I think he's a Patriot. Well, we're all Patriots. Yes. He's a turncoat, though, playing for them. Yeah, but I don't know. Is he, is he on the practice squad with the Patriots? You've got to find a place for Tommy DeVito. Had him in there, backup quarterback, you know, Tommy Cutlitz comes back. Great story there. Yes, Paul.
I have Tommy Cutlitz's second string to Drake May. Wow. That's getting paid. You're not going to pry him out of New England. Yes, Dylan. I did. I recently saw a picture of him with his agent. You remember that guy? Yeah. Looks awesome. They looked they were in somewhere in Boston. It's a bit of a fish out of water thing. I think they're more used to the New York sort of aesthetic. Yes. The New York metropolitan area. Jim and Idaho. Hi, Tim. What do you have for me today? Yeah, man. It's so good to get through. Man, I've been listening to you. I used to listen to the corn hizer. So I was listening to you the day you got on the radio. I lived through the Rob Dibble years and all those years. And I teach elementary music and our principal, him and I are both big sports fans. And there's another sports channel in town. And he used to listen to it. And I said, no, no, I listen to Dan Patrick every day. Well, flash forward to this fall. He tells me, man, this summer way my schedule worked out. I took my kid to daycare. I mean,
those guys are great. I said, I know I've been telling you. You need to listen to those guys. Those guys have got screwing around and getting paid for it to an art form. And he said, man, they got that meat Friday. And I said, yeah, man, he says, we should have our old meat Friday. I said, we absolutely should. So Dan, thanks to your influence last Friday at Idaho Arts Charter Elementary School in Nampa, Idaho, just west of Boise. We had our first ever meat Friday. Thank you very much. All right. You're welcome, Tim. You're welcome. Glad that we could pass on something to you. And it's all about the kids. We'll take a break when we come back. Dishon Jackson has a documentary coming out. And he'll talk about that. He's the head coach at Delaware State and former great deep threat. He was with the Eagles, the redskins, the Ravens, maybe one or two other teams in there. So we'll talk to him. Chris Collins worth in a little less than an hour from now. We'll come back after this. Dan Patrick show.
Be sure to catch the live edition of the Dan Patrick show weekdays at 9 a.m. Eastern 6 a.m. Pacific on Fox Sports Radio in the I Heart Radio app. Welcome to football. Doesn't lie. Hi, I'm Bill Parcels and I'm Catherine Zazzora. I have a lot of experience in the game of football Catherine. And I'm learning the game with Bill's help every week. We're going to talk about the NFL slate through the lens of Bill's expertise as he coaches me from novice fan to football expert over the course of the season. You know, I'm looking forward to this show Catherine and hopefully we can give our audience a little in depth look into the inner sanctum of pro football that they can't get anywhere else. Tune in every Thursday for unfiltered stories from Coach Parcels, analysis on the state of the modern game and education on how football really works. Continuities very important, but what happens when you get good coaches on your staff and people begin to recognize them, then they want to hire them and then you can't stop a guy from trying
and prove himself, but you have to replace them. Because once you understand what's going on inside the mind of the coaches, you'll understand more about the whole game. So all aspects can be discussed. The only thing I haven't done because I didn't have enough money, I don't own the team, I never owned a team. Listen to football doesn't lie on the iHeart Radio app Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Here's something worth knowing. It is a great performance. A lot of fun. So the Broadway show that Spike Lee I think was the producer of that and it was great, great music and great band, great frontman as well. David Burr, right? They were formed at RISD. RISD, Rhode Island School of Design. Oh, okay. I'm looking to couple these college football games
this weekend. Texas at Tennessee, noon start. That could be spicy. Iowa at Michigan. Spicy. Let's see. What else looks great? LSU A&M. Texas A&M losing at home to Kentucky. Now LSU comes in. Both teams coming off losses and then you have USC and Oregon. Yes, Paul. Oregon USC seems to be high on the spicy beater because Lincoln rallies 4-0 but they're 4-0 against 10-0. They've got a lot of big games coming up. They got IU. They got Ohio State. Big one. Doug and Syracuse. Hi, Doug. What do you have for me? Dan, can we please get a frenzy from singing? Every time he sings an angel loses its wings. That's so mean. All right. Thank you, Doug. Todd, would you for the sake of the angels?
Stop singing. I don't think I can. I think again. It's like a nervous tick. I enjoy singing. That much. Joe Invegas. Hi, Joe. What do you have for me today? I am of the Mr. Patrick. I'm of the complete opposite that Fritzy should not sing. He should. And in fact, in honor of Dylan, looking like a very young gay Kaplan, could Fritzy honor us with the thingsong that he's been crushing today with a little, a welcome back honor? I could if you guys were human. That stands the boss. He was the decided if he wasn't here. Okay, go ahead. Welcome back. Your dreams were your ticket. Welcome back to that same old place that you laughed about. Well, the names of all chains that you hung around, but those dreams have remained and they've turned around. Oh, they thought they laid your back here where we need yeah, we tease them a lot because we got them on the spot.
Welcome back. Welcome back. They're going. I've had better. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, I'm sorry, Todd. I didn't mean to cut you off there. And we tease them a lot because we got them on this spot. Dylan. I just like the game Kaplan. He became a professional poker player post. Welcome back. Got her. Yeah. Yeah. Very successful. But you do look like him. DeShawn Jackson, Delaware State head football coach, drafted second round by the Eagles back in 2008. And he has a documentary. It's called Go Deep. DeShawn Jackson's story, premieres today on Prime Video, constructed entirely from thousands of hours of home video footage shot across 35 years by his older brother. DeShawn Jackson joining us. When did you know you had all of this footage for the documentary? Oh, man. I mean, I knew since day one when my brother picked up a camera man until
until this day, he's still filming with me right now. Man, it never, it never ends, man. Never ends. Yeah, man. Since I was like six or seven years old, man, 30, 35 years of overall footage. Okay. Is there a time when you wish he wasn't rolling on you? All the time, I tell him to turn the down camera off. I mean, honestly, man, now it's a blessing to be able to have this footage and have somebody just been there every step of the way through a lot of obstacles, a lot of ups and downs, a lot of positive things, a lot of negative things. So, and then we always can laugh and go back and critique moments. There was crucial in our lives. Tell me what Crenshaw was like back in the day. Crenshaw was back in. What was Crenshaw like back in the day? Crenshaw was, it was real. It was tough. You know, the things I saw on a daily basis, man, gun, violence, drug abuse, gang violence as well.
So, I mean, it was, it was, it created thick skin, it created thick skin. And a lot of things that I wanted to stay away from. And that's why I kind of, I felt a football, I felt a sports, you know, I felt it to kind of stay off the streets and keep my nose clean and stay positive. What made you, did you back out of going to USC to go to Cal? Sure did. I committed to SC. And I, and it was two, it was two parts of that. For one, they gave my number at the time I was wearing number one at Long Beach Polly. And they gave my number to Patrick Turner, who was a Tennessee crew. They went there big to all receiver. They gave him number one in there for two. I feel like it was good for me to get away from home. You know, USC was right there in my backyard. I grew up in the Krenshaw district. And, you know, that was literally in my backyard. And I said, like, I had to get away from home and grow up in my own. You ever lost a race? Man, have I ever lost a race? That's a good question. Ah, I don't think so, now, man, I, I don't lose races, man. You know, we're undefeated over here when it comes to fights.
When it comes to fights, and when it comes to races, I'm undefeated. I'm 110 to no. Wait, you've never lost to a teammate. There was nobody faster than you. Ah, man, I never lost to a team. I've never lost in a race where we intended to go race and to have a winner at the end. I've never lost. The title of the documentary is Go Deep. You have the NFL record for most career touchdowns of over 60 yards. Did you know? I did. I did. That's what 26, right? Yeah. What is the key to going deep? Oh, my key just went in fast and don't let nobody touch you. I mean, just, you, well, honestly, you have to have a play call set up, you know, and some of them was deep plays and some of them was catch the ball right in my hands and take a deep. So, I mean, I just think it's just really just, I'm, I consider myself like a cat, a cat instincts player on the field. And I just react to man. A lot of things I just react to. So when the balls in my hand, I'm just, hey, man, fit us in a survival to fit us. And then go survive and get into
the hands on. That's the key. Best deep ball thrower you played with. Michael Vick. More arm talent. Michael Vick or Matthew Stafford. I will probably say Matthew Stafford. I will say Matthew Stafford. Yeah. There's certain guys that just make it look easy. Mike had that little flick where they were. Yeah, it's zipped. It's it. Well, wait, were you faster than Vick? Yeah, wait, wait, you know, he was older and he was coming off at two years or year and a half in prison. So, but I mean, honestly, in the point in our prime, I mean, you can ask Vick, I think, you know, I was still got him in my prime too, but yeah, I was, I was faster when he came along and played with us. I got you Eagles Redskins, Bucks, Rams, Raiders, Ravens. That's everybody on. Did you keep, did you keep your jerseys from all of them? Yes, I have every jersey from every team I played for him. Ask me what's my favorite. You should probably do that.
But it don't be supplied with slot. Yeah. He's Dishon Jackson. Now the head coach at Delaware State and the documentary with the help of his older brother, Byron is Go Deep, the Dishon Jackson story. What did you learn as being a college player that's helped you as a college coach? Good question, man. I think the layer of becoming the head coach and seeing how hard my coach was on me when I was in college makes me understand, you know, why he was on me the way he was on me. As a being the head coach now, you have players and you know, you want the best for your player. So sometimes of the young kid, you may not understand the answer now. So how hard do you need to work? Why you need to be on time? Because if you're allowing a young man to get away with that, eventually it's going by them in the, you know, way when they get older and they become a professional. So I just think just really the responsibilities of, you know, holding everybody accountable and making sure, you know, the standard remains hard. How tough for you to coach in college?
It was tough. It was definitely tough coaching me. It came with a lot of, how would I say that it came with a lot of great plays behind that. But uh, yeah, I think my coach was just more like he wasn't going to allow me to get away with certain things. But I mean, to, you know, to be fair, I was, I was balled on the field. I mean, a freshman in all America, sophomore in all America, and I hired my whole full. So, I mean, I feel like sometimes you got to deal with it. You got to, some of the, some of the players that are a little better, you got to deal with some things that you may not want to deal with. That's what I'm learning. When's the last time you spoke to Chip Kelly? Yeah. I think you got that answer. 2013. When he released me. When he did that bonehead mistake you should have did hurt his inner field career. One of the decisions. What was that conversation like? Oh, man, it was, uh, I think it was fake. I think it was, I think he never really owned up to the true form. Why they went in a different direction. Um, you know, for, for me, like I, I, I, express this, I could, I could have respected a play, which is said, you know what?
The shot we're going in different direction. You don't fit it. You're not the player we, we won't. And, you know, so be it. But I think, you know, to dig up certain things on how my upbringing was and, you know, where I grew up at and the people I was hanging around, like, and to make it seem like I was a villain or a bad person in the society, like, you know, that kind of, like, it really made me feel a way. So that's kind of my take on that situation. Who's the former coach you've learned the most from about being a coach yourself? I would say it's three guys that I particularly, uh, give a lot of credit. So I would say Andy Ries, Shaman, Vey and Deon Sanders. What a deon teacher. To have patience at HBCU, just to be patient, to, uh, understand, you know, resources may not be as, um, you know, as much as needed from some other schools. And I'm just kind of just, you know, make sure you keep the main thing the main thing and, you know, just have expectations to want to change the program around. But at the same time, just know that the resources may not be
able to be what you need them to be. Difference between biggest difference between Sean McVeigh and Andy Reed. Hmm. I mean, Sean McVeigh is a little more, he's younger, you know, so I think he's able to, to relate a little different, um, you know, his office of style is a little different as well too from, um, from Andy Reed. But I think the biggest thing is just he's like a younger version of like Andy Reed, because they're both very smart and intellectual when it comes down to all stand-up and your terminologies that think is very, very similar as well too. But you just have like a younger version. This kind of, you know, a little more relatable and you got to, you know, coach Reed kind of a little more old school old style, but he still relates to his players as well too. Where's your Super Bowl ring? It's in my, uh, it's in my safe at the house, man, you know, I don't, it's a bittersweet Super Bowl ring, you know, like I was on the team, but I didn't play in a Super Bowl, so I know I had an impact in that season, but I was just like, you know, I don't really want to, you know, store it off all the time. Best defensive back you played against.
That's defensive back, um, it's, that's kind of hard to answer. And the reason why I was, because I feel like I never was really guarded one on one, like, you know, safety kind of always had help. So for me, I really don't like giving too much credit to it, to a defensive back, but I'll just say, I think Chan Baby. That's not a bad pick. Yeah, Chan Baby was, he was tough, you know, early on my career, I got a chance to play aversum when he was in Denver and he was a tough matchup. So when you knew you were going to get help, they'd get help over the top on you, like, do you look at the defensive back differently? Like, can't you just go man to man with me? Hey, I challenged every defensive coordinator. I used to like saying that dude, the weak lead, never to a win, they used to interview me. I'll say, I challenged every defensive coordinator just to play single high man coverage, man to man coverage. And I look up and to be covered to save your top two, man, I'm like, man, come on, man, I used to tell the DVs, I'm like, man, you got some help. You can't do this by yourself. I used to be mad as I don't know,
but they like, man, if we give you man to man coverage, you too fast, you're just going to run right by them. What was your official time? My official time was a 427, but the calm I said, I ran a 431, I think it was a, it was the electric time, but a hand time, my fastest time was a 427. What about 100? 10, it was 10, 5, my sophomore year and I never ran it again, my sophomore year, I ran 10, 5, I never ran it again. Why? I was playing baseball, my dad really wanted me to play baseball, and at the time my high school coach really, he didn't really allow me to do both, like because it was hard to play baseball and to play a brown track at the same time. So my coach was just like, man, just stick with baseball. I think you could have played professionally. I think I could have, man, I think I would have had, I probably would still been playing right now, two at 39 years old, I probably would have made over like 4500,000,000 to, I wish I could have
went back out of potty-chosen baseball. So you could have been Bo Jackson? Bo Jack, man, yet, but at the time, man, they didn't want to let me play both. I asked them to let me play both when they was going to draft me in the first round. I was a senior in high school, and they was like, now you got to give up, you got to give up football. I was like, I don't think I could do that. Who was going to draft you? Tampa Bay Debra race. It was like, I think it was like the 29th pick or 28th pick in the first round. They called me out of high school and they called me, it was like, we're going to pick you here. Will you be willing to give up baseball football? He was crazy. My dad told me, he said, leading up to that, they basically prepped me on my interview, if they asked you, you're going to give up football, you got to say yes. They basically wanted me to lie because I knew I wasn't really going to give up baseball. I mean, give up football. So when they asked me that, I didn't go to the, I didn't go, I went against the plan, obviously, and said, no, I wasn't going to give up football. What did your dad say? He was mad. My dad was pissed off.
We couldn't want to go get a few million. So we could have got my four, five million already before you got to the NFL. And you know, he wanted some of that money. So he was like, why are you not? Why are you saying that? I can't rely on to these folks. Well, good luck with the documentary. Congrats on it and good luck at Delaware State. We appreciate you sharing. Yes, sir. Thank you, man. You stay blessed. DeShawn Jackson, he's entertaining. So 35 years of home video shot by his older brother, Byron. And it's called Go Deep. The DeShawn Jackson story now available on prime video. Well, they had best road trips long as picked by the four of us running down a dream by Tom Petty, which was Paul's Marvin's Touch the Sky by Kanye West, which we just heard. My this must be the place by talking heads or Todd's I have the tiger by survivor. Paul still running away with it at 61%. All right, all right. Congratulations. Tremaine and Mrs. Sippy. Hi, Tremaine. What do you have for me? Yes, I want to comment on what the call has said about the outcome of the change in the outcome of sports. Might as well be the 2009 Easter Conference finals. If the task is Orlando, COVID can face off against the bar and the debate can be decided on the court. He is the biggest
one. There's a sports. A lot of child abogues will be unemployed and the sports will be a better place to think. Thank you, Tremaine. All right. Interesting. DA in Tampa. How's morale down there? DA? Oh, don't get me started. EP. Don't get me started. I think I don't hear good things. I don't hear good things on morale in Tampa. And I think Baker may feel Baker. I'm a fan of yours. I think you just pulled up the nicest robbery in town. This team ain't going nowhere. Okay, our office of the line is shaky. Todd Bowles is a wonderful defensive coordinator. He's not a head coach. Yeah, I think he's in trouble there. And granted, it's only two weeks, but it doesn't, it doesn't
look good in that division where you should win. Where nine wins get you in eight wins. You got to win those games. You got to beat Cleveland. Yeah, Paul. It's like the Buccaneers a month ago. We're in the position where they're in kind of a no man's land. They have a good quarterback who's a little older, who's got one year left. If you don't sign him now, what are you going to do? Start over your two decent of a team in a winnable division. They're kind of where they didn't have an option. I don't think. Jimmy in Michigan, thanks for the call, DA. Hey, Jimmy. Hey, you know, you know, you know, you should get the Jason Alexander to sing, believe it or not, George isn't at home, you know, do it with with them. I was thinking either that or, or the original version. But when you said the 72 Olympics man, that was exactly where I was thinking, I clapped my hands. When you said that, I was also going to the same thing. Well, thank you, Jimmy. Yeah, if you could reverse one outcome. And that was just off the top of my head because to watch that
in real time and you keep thinking, wait a minute, why did they keep putting time on the clock there? And giving the Soviets a chance, they gave him three tries. I think the guy who scored the winning basket was Alexander Belloff. And I think he was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks, but they gave him three tries and they eventually scored. Yes, Mark. For me, I know this is way before my time, but seeing documentaries on it, I feel terrible for Mr. West. The 1969 finals game seven, I would have the Lakers win because he's still the only person to win finals MVP on a losing team. And I'm sure that ate him up. Yeah, you have, you know, your average in 40 at game. And it's not good enough. And you lose on your home floor. Tom and Wisconsin. Hi, Tom. What do you have for me? Hey, good morning, guys. My one play that I'm like, I guess moment, if I can reverse it, the outcome would be 10 or over the year, but Tom Watson missing the put on 18 at St. Andrews. I just
salted my gut. It was going to happen. And if I could, if we could see him, make that pot, I think it'd be outstanding. And what was the 60, 60 years of age at the time? Does that sound right? And Paul is looking at it, right? Yeah, I got, let me check. Is he late 50s or early 60s, I think? And he's he's going to win a major Jeff in Texas. Hi, Jeff. What do you have for me? Hey, Dan, 510 American fast food diet to city. I'm talking about the, thank you. I'm talking about the road trip playlist. I think that's important. But I think what's equally important and food, what is the best snacks that you guys like to take on a road trip? Mine's sunflower seeds. I'd also like to do a quick shout out. Charlie Arby Willow, Pack and Caden Meadow. Jeffie loves you. Love the show. Todd, you're a snacker. What would you take on the road with you? I like specifically Uts pretzel rods. Very enjoyable to me. They're a little
like extra burnt. They got a little more crisp to it. Fair enough. Uts. Yeah, Paul. Two things. Tom Watson was 59 years old when he missed that putt. And I would go nil away first. All right. What about you doing? How much time do we have? I'd probably go pizza combos. All right. Yeah. What about Marvin? You got a road trip snack. I go the most underrated chips ever. Munchos. Todd suggested Scott Norwood makes the feel goal to beat the giant. The giants won three other two goals. They can give up one of the four. Yeah, I'd be good with that. James and Fort Wayne. Hi, James. Hey, I think I heard you talking about the set of the day song, maybe getting a new version. And I think I remember a few years ago, Michael Boobley, it came on and did one and then we just never used it maybe. Is it still in the archives? Oh, you know what? Let's get some of my
best people on that. Yeah, I thought Michael Boobley. He was a great guest. He was fun. Yeah, I think he gave us a stat of the day song. Final hour in the way. Paulioles step out of the chair. Todd's going in the box. Are you going to sing when you're in the confessional? I may, but I think there's something else going on in there that's exciting. Oh, okay. Not so fast coming up in an hour from now with Paxton Perloff on Kikak and NBC sports now. Chris Collins worth joins us in about six minutes from now. Final hour in this Thursday right after this.
