From the Quantum Fiber Studio, this is Brock and Song on Seattle Sports. Brock, you're the Ann, Mark, Matt, Mark, sorry about my, my, you're not exactly Joe Capp there in the pocket. Now here are your hosts, Brock, you're the Ann, Mike, Song. Yeah. Fire, sell, sell, fire, sell. Look at me. Like really look at me. Look at me. Look at me. Look at my eyes. I'm looking right into my eyes. Why are you looking in between my nose? Look at my wide space eyes. I'm trying to. My eyes don't go that wide. Can you tell that I'm 62 hours into a fast? I think that probably explains your same darn old tag. Can you tell? No. I can't tell. Should I be able to tell? Coloring. Are you looking a little pale? Really? I'll go peek it. Yeah. All right. Good to know. That's why you say sell. That's why you say sell. You say sell. I'm going to sell. Buy or sell. You're going to sell. So to the lady in the second room.
Absolutely sell. 206 has salt just loves an interesting name. Remember when he found out about Matt Eberflus? And it was all he talked about for a week. Matt Eberflus. Matt Eberflus. Jim Harbarth. I don't remember. Jim Harbarth. Who's Matt Eberflus? I don't even remember that. What do you guys do? Stop it. Stop. Stop it. All right, Morrow. What do you got for us? He is currently the assistant head coach for the Niners. I know. I know. Yes. Of course. You don't think I've been studying Matt Eberflus' journey? No, I know. All right, buy or sell. Mike McDonald will be less angry after this game than less. Oh. He'll be less angry. I'm selling that. He'll be less angry. And you're buying it. Oh, he'll be less angry than a boss. I'm going to buy it. He'll be less angry. That anger that just like cover my mouth anger, that rage.
That's your way. That's going to get... And the only time that flares up is when guys are selfish. They then flare up if guys make physical mistakes. If guys get beat, even mental errors. Like, hey man, it's going to happen. When we're going, I know that happens when Rick Wollon... Yeah, and that happens when Nicki Man... Yeah. Yeah. So I'm buying that. I know who it's on. I'm with Brock. I'll buy that as well. Next. All right, Byer fell. Miles Garrett and Aaron Donald make it on the field at the same time this year. Wow. That's an interesting one. I'll buy that. I'm going to buy that. Yeah. I'll buy that. Well, at some point. Yeah. Don't know when. Don't know how long. Gosh. I'm going to use Aaron Donald's. See, defense player of the year voting worse. I don't think he's winning right now. How's that guy doing? How's AD doing? How's that 35-year-old doing who's missed three years of football? How's his back? How's his body? He's coming back. He's playing this one. Is he playing this one?
I don't know. I don't follow every minute of the Rams. They had some for sure, yeah, but I think they were optimistic. They're optimistic, Brocksy. No. Probably going to play. So scary. He's so scary. Brocksy, you turned this into... Like, first it was he's not going to play this year and then once he did, then it became something else. Well, kind of. No, he's out. Oh, my God. It was he's not going to play. You just think it's a money grab? I think he enjoys making $20 million more. I realize that, you know, trying to promote his fitness equipment and his brands, we're not doing that. Like, most NFL players when they're done playing. Oh, my God. Yeah. It's just about that. It's just about his promotion. Oh, he thought with the dream team and Miles was healthy and everything that they would just be easy. This league is not easy. Nothing ever, ever. That's fair. It's not easy. When are you supposed to see what's going to happen with G? Brock is feisty. Try now. Let's usually have bad combo. All right. Fireself. Nothing good. Fireself, Trevor Lawrence is capable of leading the drags to a Super Bowl.
At some point. No, so. Absolute so easy so easy so easy so I mean, he's not super bowl. No, I'm not. No, Sam Darnold led the sea. That's true. That's fair. I mean, Sam, I've got the Rams. I'm going to do it. Should have any one do it. Jimmy Garoppolo got the Niners to your point. Super bowl guys got them to. No, you got to be at a certain level in Ilk. He did win national titles. He did win 55 games in multiple state titles in Georgia and high school football. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Clemson, post Trevor Lawrence. Not really the Clemson with Trevor Lawrence. No. So yeah. I mean, Lawrence post Clemson, not really the Trevor Lawrence. We saw at Clemson. Very true. Yeah. I gotta say I'll sell it. Okay. Hard to get to a Super Bowl. Especially in the UFC. Okay. All right. We met Ryan who's going to be in the, what did we call it?
The board up rotation. The caper and see. The caper and see. Back with with Nick the other day. Yeah. Fireself. Michael. I mean, Michael's here. Michael, are you part of this rotation regularly? Why are you diminishing Michael? I was going to be here and I was not going to be here. But Michael's here. Michael's here. I think he's feeling why don't you let Michael answer? I'll be part of the piggyback. You are. Yeah. So I think that's part of the package. I think I'm doing. I'm going to be next week. I'm going to be part of my committee. I'll just be part of my committee. He certainly a lot more confident on the mic than Nick. I'll be the closer. I'll come on Fridays. And Ryan has only done one day of training. That's right. Kyle told me he was going to be Nick and Ryan. I'm talking to you about it. B-O-B-C. Bored up, my committee. Absolutely. All right. What's the question about Ryan? Who may or may not ever be afforded up again? By herself, Brock has an ass Ryan, his height and weight, yet because I preemptively made a joke that he would. That's the only reason he didn't. Absolutely by. How do I buy more? Can I get more stock in this call, Calci? He was going to do it that day.
Michael, have I asked you about your height and weight? Not yet. Nope. I have not. That's only because you're trying to remember his name. Did HR, did Marin have a conversation? By yourself. Oh, I'm just saying, don't sleep on Michael. Michael might be like in the lead right now. He's kind of the Emerson Hancock of this deal. And you're not expecting it. Yep. Don't know if we even really want it. Why not even put him on a question? But he doesn't mean he's not going to roll to the forefront. You are the oldest of the three. What do you say, 27? 27. There's other guys or patients. Came out of nowhere yesterday with that substation offering. I know. It's true. That was probably, I like that, an offering substation. By the way, we have some poor sap listener who heard the promo that Pittman put together about all the buzz and electricity in San Francisco. And it's like, hey, great promo, but you missed a great opportunity to make it about the San Francisco substation. What are we doing?
I spent so much time praising our audience at 6 o'clock because yesterday's ratings are awesome. And I would say 27% female listening is great. It's just amazing. Truly awesome. But then you read something like that. And you're like, oh my god. Maybe I can't praise the audience. Because some people are that dumb. Do you know what the female audience loves? The Bellaire's Swan. Doesn't fit one in both the sky. I think our whole audience does. How about Capocaco? Do they like him? Just in terms of greatness. There's your names. OK, what do you got more like? I'm a daughter. What do we got? Bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum. What do we got? The Mariners will have a Saiyong winner in their starting rotation by 2029. 29? Do they have to win it by 2029? Or they just have to be in the rotation by them? Because I think Ryan Sloan wins a Saiyong. Yeah, you can say he wins at that season, I guess. Yeah. I don't think he wins at that year or not. But Ryan Sloan wins a Saiyong. So are they going to be playing baseball in 2029? No. Not till 2042.
That's why I was like, I was going to say 2028. I'm like, we'll give it another year. So I know that X-rayer is going to be. That's fair. That's right. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to buy that. Yeah, between Cade and Sloan and who knows? Maybe one of these other fellows of a blue skier at that point? Yeah. Yeah, we still got a shot. Yep. All right, buy yourself. So we'll take this hockey DJ and gig, incredible heights and leave us to go on tour. No, where do I buy that? Oh, yeah. Hey, you'll really enjoy the hockey minor league cities through Canada. I would actually. Oh, no, no, yeah. I'm sure you'll know that. You know, yeah. No, a Winnipeg. Yeah. Winnipeg is a jam compared to some of the spots you're going to be. Yeah, you know what? During the next break, I'm going to find all the cities in the minor league hockey store. And we're going to really see if you're going to enjoy that. I'd like to play in like the queue, so I could travel around. Come back. That'd be fun.
OK. I'd like to be a DJ in the queue. What would jam not with the G? What do you got here? That is a thank you more. That is by yourself for today. Pay off. Other dads who like to DJ. I told you I'm not alone on this. Like I sign up for it, but there's two other dads who also like to DJ. Yeah. It's like a quiet competition now coming to Cam loops. Cam loops is fine. I told you I had a great time in Colona last year. I'm sure all of Canada looks just. DJ by committee. And they're going to come a little bit. But it's yeah, there's a lot of competition there. Interesting. A lot of like you have a DJ name. No, it's not that kind of DJing. I'm not like spinning tunes. And that's a good eight. I'm not scratching. I mean, not if you're not competing. Cross fading. Right. DJ Mikey Mike. No. Yeah. Not going to be like that at all. All right. G Scott will come in here in 20. It's already been quite a show. So you can only imagine where this is going to go. We're talking Sam with him. We are. Perhaps it. Yeah, I am Brock. He's such a kiss up when it comes to that stuff.
So I know where that conversation goes. We'll do that in 20 after everything you need to know next. Mr. Monopoly here. Miss me. Monopoly is back at McDonald's with millions of prizes. Here's what you need to know. A first. I don't appreciate this text that calls me DJ Harry Anderson. That's not nice. I don't appreciate that at all. How dare you? That's just straight up rude. And here we are. Here we are. Yeah, by the way, I believe. Yeah. Yeah. John Lethgaugh. Right? Isn't he the dad? He's the other dad. Yeah. Speaking of my sister, who we were talking about earlier, she was too afraid. She had to leave Harry in the hands of herself. Oh, scary. Yeah, too scary. I mean, she was like three to be fair to her. Little tune up, Brock, as the C-Ox and Niners get ready for each other, huge game on Sunday. I just want to know if Leonard Williams is going to play. Like he was limited on Tuesday.
Wednesday. Wednesday. Didn't practice yesterday. Today's just a walkthrough. So he's going to be questionable. No, today's more of a, today's a finish. Not a walkthrough. Today's a fast Friday. You've finished kind of everything off. It's an hour plus. And by the way, same trend line as Mike Evans down there, San Francisco with his ribs. Who's more important of this game? Leonard Williams or Mike Evans? Leonard Williams. Yeah, that's the guy I'm worried about. Psych to see Tio Cotta. Looks like everyone else is in pretty good shape for the most part. But yeah, that Leonard Williams one is going to be obvious. My project is still limited. True. That would put Trayvon on the field a little bit more. But I think you got a sense and feel. They liked what Mr. Diggs did with the reps he got last week. Yeah, that would be another one. But I'm not going to worry about him the same way. I'm about to win it. William. So I think we know that Mike. Brock, I love that. Brock, I love him. I'm the Niners side. No practice for Bosa or use check. Or as you said, Mike Evans. Let's see. You want a little, who should I play? You want some Sam on the 49ers and how they limit explosive plays?
Obviously, getting in the nitty gritty, like just their backers, their, you know, their back end. And then obviously they're rush all being tied together. They do a really good job with that. And really just keeping everything in front of them. And they do a really good job attacking as well, which I think helps limit those explosives. How about screens, Brock? I think screens are going to be important in this matchup. Real important. I think they will. Here's what Maurice Jones drew, said. The screen game against the Rams in a week one, they ran nine screens. Nine screens. Miles Garrett was there. They were a little nervous about the pass rush. This is what I expect them to do against Seattle Seahawks. Guys that can rush the quarterback, they can get their expect them to try to get the ball in the edge of D-boz we saw here, but also different type of screens to get the ball out quick and force those guys have to go sideline to sideline. They got the screen master over there too, KJ Wright. So, will KJ be able to help with all the screens? The Seahawks have been working on? That's a good question. Oh, good. Is the screen master coach K listening this morning looking for information, looking for that edge?
You have that sound, by the coach K called himself the screen master. All the self, he also called himself coach K. Please tell me that's in the system some more. Sure it feels like I can find it. Maybe more again. Yes. He was the second thing you need to know. I just say in general, the baseball postseason got off to a slow start, but has been improving. Is that a fair characterization of kind of first round was okay, right? It was all right, but just seems. It is kind of crazy. As I was watching some tape, had in the background to think a year ago, one year ago, how unbelievably wired we were. The 15 in a fair, in the divisional round, the ALCS, it went to set... This time last year, we were so engaged. Yeah. I've been watching a lot, man. I've been enjoying them. I've been enjoying watching the games.
But they've not been high theater outside of really that one series between the Padres and Brewers. Yesterday, again, it kind of got away from Chicago's. You just leave this poor Grant Taylor into face six batters. So you fire in Vanibull, so I keep firing? No, I don't. Firing and what he's done to get the team there is pretty impressive, but I was pretty horrified watching that. I'm sure there's a reason. I'm not in Chicago. I don't know everything going on with that team and that roster. It was so bizarre that there's got to be a reason. I just don't know what it is. I guess I could check in with some friends there. Game five tomorrow, five o'clock in Cleveland winner take all. Well, winner goes to face the raise. The owners, I like what the owners are proposing, Brock. You like this? 154 games. Of course, you are. It's an owner's guy. Not true. Kind of the opposite, in general, but... I'm in... I think the owners are doing this right. Can you do that to baseball? Can you strip away eight games? Yes. A sport that is so beloved and known for its numbers. Yes. I mean, from 154 to 162.
I mean, like, it grew to this. You can absolutely scale it back. Jerk. Yes. I think that part is very easy. Very easy. Very easy. It's a salary cap. Not so easy. Well, no. And especially with the players, keep ignoring the fact that there's also a floor attached to the cap. They're like, well, we're not going to accept anything with a cap. Okay, but there's also a floor. But well, all of this is continued. The other floor is a suggestion. It doubles up one of the ALCS possible contenders. Because Cleveland spent 80 million. Right. You're right. If the floor is 150 million. Right. That's a lot of money. And in fact, we went through this numbers earlier. There's more money that would be injected through a floor than taken away through a cap. So I just, I continue to be baffled that the player has responded to this. Here's the third day you need to know. Cowboys lose. That's always fun. Especially when it's to an Owen IV bucks team that did everything in their power to not win the game. Huskies are in action tonight, Brock Friday home game against Iowa, cracking back out on the road.
They face Detroit this afternoon, trying to get back over 500, trying to be the team who's not the flames and Detroit's not very good either. All right, there you go. That's everything you need to know. I don't appreciate it. You listen to the screen master right here. Oh, you also have one in here where you had Justin mixed it with Shade. Yeah, because he always listen up. You listen to the screen master right here. Just because when he said it, he sounded like DJ Venus fly trap from WKRP. You want to talk about a current reference. Just like doing that late night thing. I'm the screen master. I miss KJ. I do too. Yeah. Well, too bad. It is weird to send his money inside too. And now like coaching up tray and Fred. It's tough. Somebody says I should be DJ sucks on ice. See that again, I don't appreciate these things. It's incredibly obnoxious. I like what do I do to deserve this? It's not right.
It's just not right. DJ Frodo, hey, come on. You guys are taking this look out of context in the wrong way. You feel like you got more skills than the other dads you're competing with. This gotta be an, I mean, this is gotta be an, I mean, this is gotta be an, I mean, this is gotta be an, I mean, this is gotta be an, I mean, this is gotta be an, I mean, you're like, this is, I don't want to sell anyone out. I like the other dads. They're nice. I don't want to try to get me in trouble with the other dads. There's a camaraderie. But I play to win. I played a way. I mean, I play to win. Yeah. And your talent versus their talent. There's no way they've got your musical chops. No way. I think I think I'm good at it. I don't want to speak about the other contestants, Brock. I don't think that's fair. I focus on ice reviews. That's fair. I just focus on myself. I don't want to. I think three says DJ Marv. That's not nice either. Yes. Yes. Cheesh. I don't appreciate any of these converse, any of these nicknames. Mm-hm. Somebody said that Cougs play. Who? The Cougs. They're not still playing.
I always over there this week, Brock. He said it was the worst football he'd ever seen. That's not true. The S.E. did. He said offense is bad as it's ever made. Okay. Diffants playing hard. Kirby's building some right things. I'm sure G's gonna have all sorts of important things to tell us in a few minutes. Next, Tom Brock and Salk. From the Quantum Fibre Studio. This is Brock and Salk. We T6 to 10. On Seattle Sports and 973 FM HD2. All right. It's time. It's Friday. G's here. And that's quite the jacket. Hey. Appreciate it. You gonna be riding a motorcycle on that jacket? Yeah. You look like you're gonna be racing Formula 1 or something. So got that spider thing, that three-wheeled concussion that you were driving for a while. No, I remember when I got rid of that thing. How come? Because I was on 405. Close to the V-Mac. And it was this car got rear-ended. Yeah. And I mean, you were like, oh my god, you could get into an accident on the highway.
I got rid of this thing. I never thought of that before. And I heard that crash. I mean, it's one thing to see. But you hear the crash. Oh, man. I got rid of that thing right away. Okay, I don't want to start with sad news, but Mike Ditka died, Brock, just a few minutes ago. Obviously, legendary player, coach, analyst, been around forever and ever. The Saturday Night Live sketch, all of it. I mean, a Chicago legend and NFL legend traded his entire draft for Ricky Williams, which was tremendous. I thought that's not great. No, that didn't work out. I mean, like the guy was, he was football for like a decade and G grew up in Chicago during the Ditka era. That bears. Yes. I mean, my Ditka, just as a kid, right, he looked like such an intimidating, like just like reminded me about how folks, if you were younger and you saw Mike Hungram for the first time, I'd imagine.
That's how I was when I saw my big guy for the first time. For whatever. I thought it was biggest Mike Hungram, but I mean, yeah, I think of Ditka, I think of him as being very short. No. He's not though, right? I was a tight end breath. I know. I know that. Like, I have to like remind my, like in my, when I see him in my mind, I think of him as being like, five eight, but he's not. He's big dude. Can I just share something with you guys? It's really eerie though. Like I just found out that Mike Ditka passed away when I was walking into studio here. Last night, I was out in the tri city, shut out to the tri cities, love all my good people out there. And I was out there and they had a little after party after the event, the home that we were at, probably one of the most amazing homes I've ever been in in my life, but that's one of the topics. But they had all of this sports memorabilia there, right? They had cards everywhere. I'm talking about lined up with Hall of Fame, NBA, Hall of Fame, baseball, Mickey Man, all kinds of stuff. Well, anyways, they had all of this special stuff for Mike Ditka.
And I was like, oh, man, my dick, I was like, man, I turned out, I was like, man, my dick is still alive. And we talked for like 20 seconds. My dick to be alive. Gee. Gee. Gee. You killed the poor man. 86. Gee. You put the announcer's curse on Mike Ditka. So in that, so in the year's curse on Mike Ditka, not in auctioneer's curse. So when I said that, I was like, I literally was just talking, I haven't talked about Mike Ditka in years. And just talked about him. Do you sound, do you sound a little tired this morning, salt? Do you sound a little bit tired? A little bit. Guys, my, well, it's my little boy. It's my voice. Yeah, you're a little tired. Okay. I'm not tired. You seem tired. You take that PJ. If you're going to come on on Friday and San Francisco, we need some juice, man. You guys sound like somebody's parents. Please. I'm a little Tommy. You're tired. I'm a little tired. Well, you sound like a little Tommy. I usually write it that scenario. I mean, true. We knew this was going to have, broxman feisty all day today. True. It's not just you. Why, bro, why are you feisty, bro? It's freaking nine years, week, jeez.
And I'm so tired. And I'm so tired of the, the, the San Donald narrative. Oh, yeah, San Donald, you just, you know what it is? San Donald lives in the same bucket as, oh, he's going to cook it. Oh, charger's going to charge her. Oh, they're cleansing in it. Like he lives in that narrative in that bucket nationally, especially. And I'm just, I'm just done with it. Like, dude, want a Super Bowl enough? Okay, he's going to make a mistake. Guess what, gee, San's going to throw a pick. Let's tell him, talk this or there. He might make some mistakes. That's his game. Ask JSN, ask those dudes on that team if they're willing for San to make a mistake to take kind of risks and make the kind of big plays that come along with the San Donald experience. And I think, I don't know, you tell me. JSN, Shaheed, Horton, Cup, Barnard, those guys enjoy playing with San Donald. They do. They do. And I'm glad you are saying this and I'm glad you're mad about it because literally this is something I've been talking about this week. What is the deal with San Donald?
What, what happened? Like he just won a Super Bowl and there's folks that want a bench San Donald. And you're right. There's no respect from the national media when he comes to San Donald. Like this conversation, look, he has played in two games. This season two games. He's been in, right? And you take away the turnovers and the commanders. The dude was playing very well. Well, you can't do that. No, but even with him, he's got 101 rating jeans. You just take away the turnovers. That's why they're lost the game. Okay. I mean, can't do that. That's not the third down. No, the third down defense didn't play a role. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, does he take away the third turnovers? What mattered more, milk, the tooth, the third down, conversion. You don't stop defensively with your best unit or say I'm don't plane His first game back thrown a two-picks what, what mattered more? If they get the ball that they don't win that game. I don't they make one of those two third out there's not what Happens if they think they go down and a minimum kick of field goal. They think they could feel goal they lose by a point. So they need a touchdown. You don't think that go down with a minute.
I don't know whether they could get down at there. Because it tells me they've got a pretty good shot of that kind of abridge. I don't know what happens and I don't think it's fair to say if he doesn't throw those picks. He did throw the picks. That's the conversation. Mike, Mike in the context of watching Sam Darnell in him play, right? Take away the interceptions is the we're not talking about the win loss. We're talking about Sam Darnell as a quarterback without the interception. Sam Darnell is a great quarterback, unbelievable. One of the best in the game. Should he have this narrative of like right now, the conversation as soon as he makes a mistake, the first thing for example, if Josh Allen, if hear me out, if Josh Allen goes out there in the first quarter of a game and throws an interception and throws an interception in the third quarter, right? Is the narrative, oh man, I don't know about Josh Allen. No, and no one. What is the straw man that people want to him benched, who wants him benched, who are
the, I don't know anybody who said that. Okay. I haven't seen any of that. That's the monoratical takes, but the whole point that we're talking about is did, did, did, hold on. Wait a second. Who did you just say Josh, did Josh Allen lead the league and turn over last year? I combined in the playoffs. Yes. In the playoffs, throw the playoffs in with the regular season. Yes. Well, then maybe at that point, yes, but during the regular season, no, I'm like, it's a fair conversation when he has had more interceptions, more turnovers than anybody else. Like, it doesn't mean you have to bash him. It doesn't mean I don't like him. It doesn't mean I don't respect all the other things he does, but there is a nervousness that the Sam Darnold throws too many picks will show up. Why? Okay. But that's just it. You just said it. Sam Darnold has a yeah, but attached to him and it's ridiculous. You just right there, yeah, but it did. The dude want a Super Bowl. He should be able, in this case, to get a pass and not have the yeah, but attached. Now if we want to have a sample size, you want to get to mid season of this year and there's
a problem. The C Hawks are don't have a winning record. They're not doing well. Then that's a fair conversation, but for him to only play two games this season and still continue to have a yeah, but attached to his name, that's the point that should not be happening. Will he ever eliminate the yeah, but no. That's the problem. No, he won't. He won't. I mean, honestly, he went to another Super Bowl this year of defense plays great. He plays complimentary ball. He throws for 4,000 yards and 28 touchdowns, but 12 interceptions because the interceptions do come with the rest of my men. This bums me out because it puts me in a position where I sound like I don't like Sam and then I'm a Sam basher and all that. And none of that. You guys are just doing it. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I think overly, overly praiseworthy. I am not talking about you. Now I get stuck in the position of having to take the other side because I'm actually watching Sam play good this year. The two games he's played is not play great. How we praise worthy? Yeah. What are you talking about? You guys are both willing to throw out the bathwater in order to only talk about the
baby in support of soccer. I was just going to say like it is the NFL's of what have you done for me lately, League. And I will he's coming back from an injury. So he can definitely grow. But I think people wanted to see that growth this year and through two games, you're not seeing those big downfield passes. You were talking about, but you're still seeing the mistakes. I'm glad you said that, Maura. You said the NFL is a what have you done for me lately, League? Sam Darlene's a sum of all champion. Josh Allen is not right. And he's from five touchdowns in the last two games, folks. Like he threw four touchdowns and a lot of those were dimes. A lot of those were tremendous throws. Oh, they weren't go routes. They were 22 yard in cuts. They were deep overs. They were threading a needle in four guys and zone coverage to the back end line to JSN. Like he's from five touchdowns. He didn't have one touchdown in five picks. He's got 101 QB rating. Like 101. I promise you this. Sam Darlene finishes this regular season with 101 QB rating. This team likely wins a division.
All those things are true. I watched the games. The first one, Sam Darlene threw a couple of picks and that really caused the team. He played great other than that. And after the pick against him against Cindy against the chargers, I thought he looked a little tentative. He didn't look like himself. He didn't look like the guy who was throwing the ball all over Stacy said the same thing. I saw it a lot of people like I'm not like crazy here. He played okay. That wasn't Sam's best nor was the game against the commanders. Got these two teams that both changed their names are confusing me, right? Like you have to play two teams in a row with a change their names. I have to like think for a moment before I say commanders. I still call him the San Diego Chargers. My God. Yeah, but but he was a little tentative like me, a little gun shy. Don't want to accidentally call them the San Diego Chargers. Don't want to call him the Washington Reds again. You get a careful. Here's a great challenge with him. And it's what we were chatting with them. How's about last week's what Brady Soundbite was yesterday. This is the great challenge with Sam the Red. You can't take away his stinger.
You can't take away. Okay. But is it fair to just say I think Sam is good? I think Sam's a good quarterback. I do. I think Sam's a good quarterback. I don't think anything's wrong with that. Okay, but because I'm not saying I don't think because I'm not saying Sam is an elite quarterback, Sam is the best quarterback, Sam is a great quarterback, then I'm then I'm a Sam Hater. And I'm not. He's a good quarterback. No, you know Sam Hater. Wait, you're not a Sam Hater. I just want to just say this. I I do think Sam is an elite quarterback. Okay, that's fine. I disagree, but I think that's a perfectly valid day. And I'm going in the reason why I'm giving him that elite quarterback status. I'm just going off of what he has done in the last few seasons. All right. So was Jalen Hertz and the Lee quarterback? Heck no. Heck didn't he do the same thing? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. He did. He did. What would you say it like respectfully? No, no, I'm gonna tell you something was happening with Jalen.
Okay. A lot of brothers right now that are just holding back their takes. I'm Jalen Hertz because it's Jalen. Jalen Hertz a really nice guy, but Jalen Hertz when I feel like he's cheek right now. Did any guy see the video that came out from the Saban documentary of like inside the locker room when he got benched? Yeah. Man, his face. Well, I could host to him. I mean, I you know how much I love Jalen Hertz. One of my favorite players in the league. I don't think he's elite necessarily either, but I love the human Jalen Hertz and just watching him deal with that. Dude, that guy's impressive. You know what? I love that guy. Okay, well, I just heard something and I think that's what it is. That's what it is about Sam Durham. I think the way that people love Jalen Hertz, which we all do. Great guy. Not everybody does. But right now Jalen Hertz, I'm a respectfully, sucks is a quarterback. He is not good, but he will get a pass because he's so well liked.
I'm not saying that Sam Darnold is. There, there, it's been talks about some drama there. Right. And he's been brought up as part of the problem. It's been whispered. They don't really come out. But, but with Sam Darnold, I don't, Sam Darnold doesn't have that gregarious personality and you know, things. It's he's kind of like he's kind of simple press conferences or just, you know, but that's sort of what Jalen is. Jalen's not gregarious and lively. He's not Baker Mayfield. He's a pretty chill dude. He didn't say a whole lot. You know, one baker, you say it. Jalen Hertz, good looking dude. You want me to say it? I mean, you know, we, you know, we, we, we family, right? I am going to make you say yes. Yeah, I think you do. You don't think, you don't think that plays a big deal? I don't know. I hadn't thought about that. Brock, Brock, is it playing big deal now? Let's talk real now. He's good looking guy. Yeah. Yeah. It helps. I mean, that's not Jimmy Garoppolo or anything. Let's not get carried away. Hey, you know what actually, Jalen, this fits perfectly actually.
You know what Jalen Hertz is? That's Dan Rolofsky. In many ways is salt. He's your kind of quarterback who is then turn it over? Who? Jalen. I know. I like you. I like him so much. I do. But he also doesn't make a tremendous amount of plays. I know. And he also plays down to their opponents just about every week because of it. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. He's just about to try and stay on the quick agenda. He doesn't want to be a career high for his season. You are before six picks you're before five. He doesn't turn them all around 20 touchdowns. I like Jalen, he does it. But he. But you know why his teammates don't you know I AJ brown. And his teammates don't soak because he doesn't elevate them. He doesn't take risk. He doesn't give them more. That's why AJ was furious. Throw me the ball. Give me a chance. Right. Honestly, this is a perfect. I know. when you win the Super Bowl. I can't believe you won the Super Bowl, but I didn't get to be the hero. Okay. Well, that's so sad. Poor Jay. Listen to how Mike Sock talks about Jalen.
I like Jalen Hurts. He does? I do. It's the same reason you liked Russell and we gave Russell a lot of passes for a lot of years. Right. We didn't take into account. I was talking. I was talking I did for years. And he played the game the same. I'm not going to make my second. I love that about him. I like that. And when did he love about Sam Darnel? Boom. Boom. Don't say no more. I like that he's gotten the ball to guys like JSN and he's allowed those guys to be really great. He has absolutely elevated and Brock's right. Listen to how you talk about him. Listen to the inflection in your voice. He's not the style of quarterback I would choose. That doesn't mean I don't like him and respect what he's done. I'm going to style a quarterback you like. A guy like Jalen Hurts, a guy like a young Russell Wilson. I like a young Tom Brady. I like the guys who don't turn the ball over. Don't take a lot of risk. I don't like this. This is just. This is like Brock. I do like Brock. I love Brock. I'd love Brock.
To be honest with you. Listen to how you talk about these quarterbacks. I know. I really liked those guys. You're asking me about some of my favorites. Lamar Jackson. I really like him. Those are quarterbacks. I really like. You don't like Josh Allen as much. You don't like Matt Stafford as much. Not as much. Just after the new version of Stafford's impossible. The guy's so good. He makes all of those throws that you're talking about. Andy doesn't turn them all over. He's been unbelievable for the last few years. He has been essentially perfect. I think it's totally fair. Just objectively. You don't have to get emotional about this. But just objectively, you like that style of quarterbacks. Yes. Not going to take a lot of risk. Right. Right. And that's great. And that's not Sam Darnold. And that's why I think there will always be, yeah, he can be really good. But you're uncomfortable. And I get it. And you're not alone in that. Right. It's a philosophical belief. It's not personal. I guess that's the point I'm trying to make. It's not personal. It's philosophical. 100%. And you know what's really cool is in what's maybe amazing about Mike McDonald too, Kassalk, most decordinators fit in your world plus.
They want their quarterback never making mistakes. They want their quarterback. Hey, man, play to my defense. Most like 99% of my life experience with defensive coaches want your guy. That's Bill Bellichek, right? They want that guy. And Mike McDonald is the defensive czar. He's the defensive wizard. I'm not even going to compare him to that other guy down in LA that he's always compared to on the offense. So I were done with that comparison. But that's always what Mike McDonald is and knew what Mike wants. Mike wants Sam to let it rip. Let it freaking rip. Absolutely. You know what we've been doing. And honestly, Brock, I guess I do too, because I preferred the Sam Darnold we saw against Washington to the one last week. Correct. I would prefer to see Sam let it. You don't want to tentative. No, I don't want him to play the style of quarterback that I would want. I want him to go do what makes him good. That's right. I just want to say we've been I'm on come. We've been talking way too much sports. Right. And I want to go with trade last week, bro. I want to start. I'll get to trade. I have a trade update. And I wanted to ask you about Stephen A. But but here's my I just want to say Mike what?
So you like your quarterbacks to be nice and conservative, not letting it rip. Right. I like them to not turn them all over. In real life, are you a risk taker? Not really. No. Are you not redress as G? I'm not a big risk taker. No. I mean, other than never getting oil changes. Does it? Does it bother you, champs? I'm not a big risk taker. No. No. If you fail at something, does it bother you? No, not necessarily. Oh, I don't necessarily mind. No, we'll take some risks. Take some, but I think we have you on every Friday, day 30. We take a risk. I definitely, I'm definitely worried about the floor a lot more than the ceiling. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not on tripinerial. Like I like working here. There's a like if there was a world in which they were like, hey, Brock and Salk, you guys could go make more money, but you got to go out and your own and do this than the other. I'd be like, I don't know. I like working here. I like getting a paycheck every week or every two weeks. I like it. I like healthcare. Like, I don't want to do all that. Yeah, maybe I could make more, but I'm good.
I am pretty conservative. All right. Before I have them with Tray and what do you make a Stephen A? Yeah. Stephen A, I can't stand Stephen A. Get him off TV. He is the worst, but you know what they used to do back in the day, back in the day, used to do one thing. Today they give folks like Stephen A money. And so he just continues to see that he did give a second topology. It's by the way, Tray City's tree sounds a little like trail bark. He makes, he makes my skin crawl. By the way, I got to tell you, you know what, that's another topic. Don't ask me about it. Anyway, let's give the a trade day. Yeah. As you all recall, Trayser is your cousin. Traysed my cousin last week. He showed up last minute, last minute. Oh my goodness. Situ staying downtown, which was amazing. Is that where he was staying? He was staying in Belvia. Ah, downtown Belvia. So, was able to see him. Got to take his taken care of. No problem. Great deal. Awesome. On Monday, he came to the station down here. Nice. And that was awesome. Sorry, I miss him. Before he left out, I got to tell you guys this.
Out in the lobby, it was front of Patty. She did, he did in front of Patty. And this part gets emotional. Because my man prayed over me and just did all, this was just telling me how proud he was. I was in tears. Patty was in tears. Like it was amazing. So he leaves. So I had to work that night and I'm getting ready to go to bed. And I get a text message from my cousin, his wife. And she's like, hey, had a medical emergency on the plane. And basically, he had gone to the bathroom. They were descending. They were getting ready to land and gone to the bathroom. And he kind of had a little medical. Of course. And so he ruled out hard to tackle all these different things. He had to go by ambulance to the hospital. Long story short, I just got out the phone with him just now. He's still in the hospital from that time. But he's doing better. Good. And he's doing better than everything. So again, shout out to Tray. Shout out to my guy, Tray.
But seriously, I got the reason, by the way, I'll tell you why I'm telling this story. Please do. Because while I was complaining about being inconvenience and what I had to do and how busy I was and work this and work that, all those things, it don't catch up to you. And when it got real in that moment, I had to reflect on what I would call selfishness in my life. Is that why you take all those days off? When I take my days off, what am I doing? Sulk. He's trying to be a type of peer. I know. But I was trying to mess with him. Because all the people in the Tri-Cities was asking me, hey, is Mike? Yes. Mike is trying to be like this. When we have 30 seconds left in the set, like, we don't have time for being serious now. Let him just end it on a serious note. Just love him.
Yeah, that's deep. Man, that's so good. All right. Are you done over there? I'm done. I'm all up. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, guys, go do something with your family. Go do something with your loved one. You know what I mean? Do something off the script. Like, hey, mom, dad, wife, sons, daughters, aunts, hey, let's go to dinner. Let's spend time because you just never know it could be gone in the middle. That's very nice. Just like, you know, I don't know. I'm not going to make a joke. I'm just going to let it go. Let's try the website here. G show starts in a few minutes over on our sister station 973. Kaira News Radio, go listen to G and Ursula. We've got one hour to go in this week, Brock.
