Nick and JP back with you on a football Friday on an F on Friday. We got the lead coming up in about one hours time, but Jordan Schultz NFL reporter, the Schultz report. You know him. You'll love him. He joined us in about 20 minutes. I'll talk just a little bit of Dishon Wonson. We'll talk about the Browns leash with the Sean. We'll also talk about the thoughts around the NFL on Todd Monkin as well. Once again, we talked about this beginning of the show. If you did join us last night at the fan aversary, want to say a big thank you to everyone that came out, Dave and Busters in West Lake. They were fantastic hosts. I, I, I, I, be honest with you, I did not play enough games yesterday. I really only did the pop a shot. I could spend a whole day there. And the thing is you would say, like, oh, you're going to take the kids. And that's not necessary. If they're there, that's awesome. But I would rather just go myself and just have a couple cocktails and just get out there and live that life. I joke. We are. I was walking around with Jake in the back before you showed up and we're walking around and checking out all the different games

and everything. And you just see like this random, like it'd be like two guys over here, two guys over here. Now the pair of buddies over there at joke with Jacob, like all these women think that we like leave and just go cheat on him all day. We didn't guys don't really cheat that often. I mean, some do, I guess. But like, there's a lot of guys like me and you that instead we would just we just go out. Yeah, we just go to David Busters with our friends. And that's like, they're, they're constantly we're always easy off with talking to some other girl. What's going? No, we're at David Busters with our buddies because that's what that's what guys do. I mean, we get the cabin coming up and I'm like, is there a David Busters near Butler, Ohio? Can I just I'm like, you kidding me? Yeah, I get like maybe a party bus and just be driven there and come back party bus for the cabin. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Come on. Is there a far? I mean, is there one closer now? I don't think there's one. No, no, not within like two hours. It would be very expensive party bus, but it'd be a highlight though. Yeah, we'll have more stories from what was a very fun night there. However, we have been accused of not doing enough admitting that

the Browns like Dishon Watson more by and we're going to play a derrel piece of sound here in a minute, but Limea today about half their show was them saying him specifically saying we're not admitting enough that the Browns just like Dishon more. Yeah, I did play Albert's clip yesterday and it's like, Oh, interesting. Then, you know, Albert says these things about the Browns and Dishon Watson and then the very next segment, the afternoon show comes out and they'll just completely refute everything that Albert says and say they don't believe them. And it's like, guys, it's not really that way, at least my interpretation of isn't that way. I feel like there's an acknowledgement that the Browns like Dishon Watson more. It would Albert comes on or anybody else comes on. I don't get the impression it's because they're saying that they think Dishon Watson is leaps and bounds better than Shador Sanders, not necessarily. It's more the idea that he does more things right now week one that would give him a chance to win operationally. It's not that they think he's a better quarterback overall. And maybe that's maybe that's where we're getting this a little confused. I don't know. I just think like like him better is very loaded. I think

that's putting your own personal opinion on the Cleveland Browns. I don't think the Browns have ever told anyone they like anyone better than the other more being more comfortable with Dishon and the reasons they've given have nothing to do with the actual talent of the player. Well, Dishon's a veteran, right? So he's got more experience in other offenses. That's a right now thing. Yeah. The, you know, he's used to playing on the road in big environments. That's a right now thing. And so I think anytime somebody goes, well, the Browns just like Dishon more. No, that's you saying you like Dishon more. And you're trying to put that on the Browns who might start Dishon Watson for two games. Well, he's tried to build up this case that people unequivocally that go to the camps every day say that Dishon Watson is played better than Shador Sanders. And I don't think that's true either. Yeah, the only people that have been consistently Dishon's the better quarterback have been the Browns have been the Browns exactly. And again, that's a, there's a perfectly reasonable and acceptable admission that is coming from me for weeks now. And I think yourself for

a little bit as well. And the idea that, yeah, the Browns do like Dishon Watson. I want to see what he can do week one. No one's no one's refuted that. No one, no one's ever tried to make that not the claim. Yeah, the point is we're saying the decision making is head scratch is poor. And we know it doesn't make sense to us. That's, that's where we're sitting back and saying, I don't, I don't get how we got here. Yeah. I, I, listen, I have no doubt that the Browns think Dishon gives them the best chance to win week one. I just have a big amount of doubt on what they're basing that off of. I think the Browns have made a biased decision. I think even the way from the coaches show, I think it was last week, where Todd Munkin was like, wow, it really wasn't an open competition. And then Shador improved so much. He kind of, we, we made it an open competition, right? Right, right, right. That is an indication that this thing was cooked from Dishon. Shador played his way into the conversation, but never played his way to the starting role. That again, the Browns set out at some point, whether it was Munkin, Munkin and Barry, Munkin, Barry and the Haslums, whatever the conglomeration was or what, sorry, configuration was they decided

Dishon was going to play and Dishon was going to start. And so for anything to go against that, they had to be indisputable evidence that that player was better. We used to think it was a tie goes to the runner situation. We've talked about this a couple of times. Right. That's clearly not the case. Clearly not the case. And we even said that yesterday, is the tide of the runner thing is not, obviously, if there was one, it went to Dishon, but they didn't feel like there was one. Dishon won this quarterback competition. I don't know, I don't know if he needs us to like say it louder. I thought the idea that Dishon was starting week one was enough of an admission that the Browns liked Dishon Watson. Also, I don't know why it's so, I don't know why it's so hard for, and I guess I'm just doing the show to Lima right now. I don't know why it's so hard for him to acknowledge how ridiculous this whole damn thing is. He just wants to make it about Dishon versus Shedore. No, no, no, this is Dishon versus Browns fans and the media, really. This is the idea of playing Dishon

Watson ever again. And I've used the word normalized and I've gotten, you know, the gently, you know, a fanny padded for for saying normalize because it's not a normal idea. Like it's normalized. The Browns have normalized something that no other team in the NFL and think about it. They've got some bullsy, thoughtless, gallless teams in the NFL. They do. And the Browns have done something that I cannot. Woody Johnson might be the worst owner in the NFL as in terms of a human being and in terms of his actual decisions, right? Woody Johnson would not be sending Dishon Watson out there for year five. And that's the guy. Like here's the thing. I have my criticisms of how the Haslums have done their business here. Okay. I don't think they're awful people. I don't really know them. I don't really, I don't really understand them all the time, but I don't doubt that they want to win. I don't doubt that they put a lot of money into this community. These communities, they've shown

a willingness to want to win. So like I've always, I've always given them credit for that. They want to win. I have no respect on any regard of Woody Johnson. None, which is very, I've been me saying that never happens. I have a fair amount of respect for the Haslum family. The Haslums problem honestly is the idea that I think they might just care too much. I think the part of I think any discourse we have with the Haslums is that they, I think they might ultimately be a little too invested. And it would be much better if they just, you know, pollyed up as much money as they can and then kind of let the football people do football things. But like I have a lot of love and respect for that family. I make fun of everyone. So it's not just I make fun of them, but I do make fun of everyone. And certainly they've gotten their lion share. But like I continue to sit here in awe of anyone that goes, well, of course they're going to start to Sean. They could have, this whole conversation could have been null and void in March. It could have been null and void in April. And organizationally, they all came together and said, all right,

to Sean's going to be the heavy favorite and will give Shadour a chance to. And so the idea that I just have to accept that they're right about to Sean, when they've been wrong about to Sean, at every single turn and they've done that they've glazed him up. They're not they, but their PR machine has glazed him up. It's a new to Sean. We're going to the playoffs and they've been wrong every single time. So I don't think it's insane that Browns fans and certainly myself and you were saying, I'm sorry, I'm not buying this particular load of crap. That's it. The distinction here is that when they tell people like Albert, and Albert's right in his reporting, he's talking to them and they're coming back and saying, yeah, we like to Sean Watson. I generally do believe the Browns like to Sean Watson, sure, but where I think this gets a little confusing people is it's like, well, how can you possibly say anything that goes against what Albert is telling you is like, well, no, but it's the same thing that's coming from the Browns that we've seen for so long. It's a lack of belief in what the Browns are trying to push out. Not necessarily lack of belief in the reporting or the lack of the information. It's

what they're trying to put out. Yeah. If Albert Brear told me I went to practice every single day and to Sean Watson was head and shoulders above Shadour Sanders, that's different for me. When Albert sang, I know the Browns like to Sean Watson and they think he can still play, I can disagree with that, the idea behind the reporter what the Browns are telling him. Yeah, like we're not disagreeing that the Browns are telling Albert things and they're telling them that they like to Sean Watson. That part is true. Obviously, it's everything that comes in back of that part. Do we believe that to Sean Watson is better than Shadour Sanders? But I just think it's interesting. And again, like I think there's only one show in town that doesn't seem to get the Dishon part of this because they, again, I'm doing this just for Lima. Lima wants to make this about Shadour. It's not. It's all about Dishon. I heard a couple of cheers for Shadour yesterday at the event. I didn't hear any booze that I recall.

Nope, but a chorus of booze for Dishon. Not just a chorus. I swear 100 extra people came in to boo Dishon. They left their games. They were playing in the other room. Is that is now the time to boo Dishon? All right. I wasn't good at hearing. And listen, I can't really knock somebody for having agenda or being mad about something because clearly I am anybody but Dishon. I think that's a reasonable take. Being anybody but Shadour to me specifically because, and I'm not going to try and mock it because I don't have to live in those shoes, but because he's the people that follow him have said nasty things about about them on social media. I'm sorry, that doesn't enter the equation for my analysis of the Browns quarterback situation. I'm looking at the absolute lost causes of all lost causes. That's what annoys me. Meanwhile, the same people that will tell you everything in the world about everyone liking Dishon will also be the same people to tell you he gets he has two weeks. Yeah. Like make that make sense. Yeah, you get an Albert was on with us yesterday, even. How can you have this utter belief and utter truth in Dishon Watson

and then also say two weeks because there's acknowledgement there that Dishon Watson hasn't shown the Browns anything in these practices that is warranted beyond just a very shortly. I do like that there's a scenario where one of us is incredibly right and one of us is incredibly wrong. That's like all of our show in general though. Isn't our show kind of like built around you mean us versus them. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, I just say in general, I thought I thought we're going towards a different path here. In this in this topic, you're right. It's got it. It's an all or nothing we're right or an all or nothing. Well, we could both be wrong. We're probably going to split the baby for being truthful about it. We'll be right on the Dishon side of things and that Dishon won't be particularly good. And then they'll be more right about Shadour than we are in the idea that we think Shadour actually has talent. And the end result is likely going to be Shadour is, I don't know, it's seven or eight games not enough to even showcase what he can do. And then we draft a quarterback in 2027. And so they'll say they're right there. I'm not selling my Shadour stock. I'm not going to do it. I don't care the people think he's a little goofy. I don't care the people

question his whatever and be an odd time to sell it right now. No, I just I think again, I think let me put it this way. I think Shadour will be the best quarterback that sees the field for the Browns in 2026. I know that still won't be good enough for them to again, they're going to take anything, but win a Super Bowl. And I don't think Lime is going to give him his flowers. But that's the point though. That's the point I'm trying to make is that I don't think there's anything Shadour is going to be able to do that'll satisfy the well, I would why am I saying I was wrong about Shadour. You guys you guys swept all the discussions this year. You get the Dishon discussion. You get the Shadour discussion. I think that's going to be a moving goal post. I think we both know that 216. Especially if he loses bad, we have the Dishon side of things. 0092. If we not done enough admitting the Browns liked Dishon wants and more. No, they want to see him again. And I don't think they're making this decision based purely off the pure intentions of whatever Jordan Schultz of the Schultz report will talk us through the Dishon situation in five minutes on 92 three, the fan. Nick and JP back on afternoon drive.

Gonna go ahead and get into a lot of stuff here in just a moment, but I'm taken by this New York post tweet that was just an out. Michael Irvin makes impassioned defense of 49ers owner Jed York after prostitution or else. And my initial thought my interest did. My first thought was I love me some Michael Irvin. He's great. I love his energy. I love I honestly love his story. My second thought was I don't know that's the character witness. I would call to the stand. Yeah, but you know, Michael's Michael's been in a lot of places and done a lot of things. I'm like some of the people trying to cover up for the fake 49ers player and just doing it and so into such such a bad way. Yeah. The playmakers been around long enough. I feel like I feel like you might actually have a good reason. Also, I don't think I can't want to hear it. I don't think you would fake it. So we'll go ahead and maybe just I must have scrounged that up. Yeah, that makes sense. Scrowns that up and get to that later, but we're just talking about the Browns quarterback situation. If you heard about this, if you've seen about this, if you heard about this, apparently the Browns are going to start to show on Watson week one to talk about that to talk

about the Todd Munkin situation situation. How he's perceived around the NFL and more we head out to the Wise Heart right. We make it right. Call Kyle Wright hotline welcome on national NFL reporter. You guys can find his YouTube channel. The Shultz report on YouTube. That one's that's kind of how that one works. A man of many jobs, many skills Jordan Shultz joins us right now. Jordan, welcome to the show. Great to be on. Well, it's great to have you here. Obviously, we've been talking wall to wall to Sean Watson for a couple of weeks now. I wouldn't recommend it, but we are doing it. I'm just curious where you stand and what you've heard. I tend to think the Browns are going to have a short leash with him because I'm not sure how it's going to look on on, you know, two Sundays from now. My partner thinks they're going to have a longer leash. What are you hearing? I think it's probably somewhere in the middle. Longer leash has been, what do you think six weeks, eight weeks, half a season? I said eight weeks because I'm

I'm thinking here is six weeks, but the Browns take things longer than they need to often. I just think they're going to it's going to need to be undeniable for them that he's not the old version of Dishon Watson. And I think that might take him six, maybe eight weeks to figure out. And I'm a two weaker. Two weaker. Yeah, I think I would say somewhere in the middle. Let's call it, you know, if if after a month, after the first month of the season, he hasn't played well. I think you could see it. I don't know if you'd see one directly after two. I know there's some scheduling stuff to the is their first home game week three? Is that right? Yeah, we three. Yeah. Yeah, so so you know, you have that element too. I think when the decision was made, it probably surprised some people, but my feeling and my information going into it was Dishon was going to be the guy. And then I think after the, you know, public comments, the interview, perhaps, you know, there was some more thought of maybe we maybe we ended up going with

Shador, but I think his experience will play a role. And I think there is some hope internally that he can operate the offense the right way. One of the things that has been told to me that I think is interesting is, you know, Kevin's defense fees offense much different than what this iteration will be in the sense that his offense was a lot of play action, a lot of, you know, significant reads whereas I think this offense, I would expect the ball. I would expect him to be able to rely more on some feel and timing. And I wonder if that can't make a difference. Now, I don't know if the Dishon Watson that everyone loves in Houston when he was one of the best young quarterbacks in football is still there, but I have to believe based on what I've been told that there is some version of the quarterback there that is at least capable of operating the offense. And then in

Sanders's case, you know, if I'm Cleveland at some point, I really do want to know whether or not this guy can be a starter. And I don't know if we know that yet. You know, there's a lot of people in the organization, I'm curious what the fans think, but a lot of people in the organization that really feel that he can do it and that there is an aura to him and an ability to run an offense once he really gets gets a hole of it and learns it. So I'm fascinated. It's the fan base completely shifted toward toward Shadour as it still split. Oh, yeah, I know it's it's I, Nick, I would say it's also the leaning heavy Shadour. Yeah. Dishon Watson's pretty well not, he's just disliked in the city. That's there's no other way to put it. And Jordan, it's not even just the off field stuff. It's the on field stuff too. This is now year five of Dishon and no payoff. What's so ever? Yeah, yeah, I hear that. I mean, I think, you know, if you consider the fact that

they're going to have a ton of cap in the next couple of years here. And then next year's graph class, specifically a quarterback. And I'm the furthest thing fellas from a quarterback guru, trust me, but if you talk to anybody around the league, they'll tell you there's a handful of potentially really good, maybe great quarterbacks in the 26 27 class, 27 class. And so if you're Cleveland, you really do need to figure out if if Shadour can be a guy and be the guy. And at some point, you'd have to imagine that this season, he'll he'll get an opportunity. Jordan, it's interesting. We've had countless debates about win totals and expectations versus Vegas. I actually somehow think my partner and I have ended up on the more sunny side. He says six wins. I actually think they have a chance to win eight games because I love everything but quarterback in the schedule. From everything you everyone you've talked to as you NFL insider here,

I'm just curious what what's kind of the expectation that you're hearing for this Brown's team, is it is it top three top five pick? I don't I don't think they're a top no, I don't think so. I think they're going to be more competitive than that. And I don't know if that is how the fans would think about, you know, having a team that floats with 500. I think defensively they're going to be very, very good. I loved the higher of me Mike Brutenberg from Atlanta. He's players love him coaches love him. He lives in the building. I think he was a great choice for DC. And then in terms of Todd Munkin, you know, that was a higher that I think surprised a lot of people. But it probably shouldn't have in retrospect in the sense that, you know, when when John Harbohl went to New York, his one of his top choices, if not his top choice, was bringing in Munkin to be his guy to be his coordinator. And I think that should tell you something. I think what

also should tell you something is that when he left Baltimore, there were a lot of folks in that organization who felt like he probably has had his chance and maybe he's too old to be a head coach, but he probably should have gotten that chance. And then Cleveland, all of a sudden, when things I think went south with Judinsky and he decided to withdraw and go back to Jacksonville, I think they pivoted it in a pretty quickly and swiftly to Todd Munkin because of his ability to just, I would just say he keeps it very real. He's very honest. Players tend to like that. And I think what you're going to see at the very least is an organized football team and a competitive team. So do you agree with the idea, though, that there's a for everyone that thinks this is a tanking season? It's not that it's more they're going to try to win as many games as they can. And then ultimately, I mean, they can't get there. They can't get there, but the focus is winning. I think that's fair. Yeah, I do. You know, I got so many so much draft capital from the Miles Garrett's rate. And I don't think we can overstate the impact of Jared verse. I mean, nobody

is Miles Garrett, but I was talking to Braden Fisk about this, who's obviously was T. with versus Florida State. And we were just talking about what kind of player he is and how relentless he is and his professional approach. I think Jared versus a bare minimum, a 12-sack guy this year. It was a worst case scenario, but I think he can get to 14, 15. So you think about that and then all the draft capital. And obviously it's really cool to think, okay, we should go out and be a top five picked team and get a franchise quarterback. But what if the rounds won eight games? What if they won nine games and Todd Munkin maybe was the guy? I think that would be pretty cool as well. Oh, yeah, that's what I want. I'm sick of losing, Jordan. I don't believe in tanking. Of course. I just don't believe in tanking. I think I think, yes, you can get where you want to go, but getting out of there, I think, is damn near impossible. Yeah, I mean, it's trying to think of an NFL team that has really successfully tanked.

It's not common. It's also, I think it's a lot harder to quote unquote tank in the NFL. Just because like, I don't know, I mean, you, it's such a small sample size of games, you know, in the NBA, it's time like 82 games and teams can tank and it's obviously a draft lottery. But in the NFL, like players don't take the only way that you could like successfully tank is if the organization just decided we're going to flat out, pull it out, bad players on the football field. Brown's had a lot of good players, you know, I mean, you mentioned the quarterback. I know that's a question mark, but you know, they don't need the quarterback to be an A or a B. If they can get a C, a C minus out of quarterback, I think that's a very competitive football team. And I, I don't know, man, I just feel like they're going to surprise. I've said this in the last couple of weeks, everyone's killed before it, but I do feel like they're going to surprise some people. Well, we love hearing that. And specifically then, let's talk about any of the rookies or anyone you think is going to be part of the reason why you mentioned Jared verse, obviously, but for the

rookies, whether that's Fano, whether that's Concepcion, whether it's Denzel Boston, is there anybody that really kind of stands out to you? I mean, the two receivers, Concepcion is just, you he's probably seen in camp, he's super electric in a way that they just haven't seen. He's not that juice after the catch. He's they and they love him. I mean, they love him. They think he's a star. And in Boston is like your prototypical X, you know, 6'4", 220, you know, I'm from Seattle, I'm a big Husky fan. I grew up a Husky. And so I'm biased. And I see him a lot, Denzel Boston, but he is a hell of a player. You know, he he he runs routes. He's got strong hands. He he will be a really good receiver for a long time in the sleep. So those two guys, and they mentioned Fano from from Utah. He's one of those dudes too that like, you know, we kept hearing in the draft process that there's not this like rate offensive tackle or guard or whatever. There's not a great lineman.

I think Fano quietly was the best one though. You know, the Miami kid I went to the Giants good too, but Fano was a legitimate top 10 pick. And you know, he's he's going to be an anchor for them. So, I mean, those three picks I loved. And then obviously year two of of Swessinger is you can't overstate. I'll be interested to see to what they do with Harold Fanon and what kind of role he has. Is he a really good almost quiet rookie year? And I would love to see him build on that and and judge him as well. I mean, like I said, it's a lot of good young players. Jordan, it's interesting. You know, we're talking about that. I think this season is much more interesting for the Browns than I think. I think some people just look at and go, not they're going to be bad. We'll talk next year. I see a lot more variance here, but I just look at the AFC North. And I feel the same way. Like I'm not entirely sure what to make in Cincinnati. New head coaches in Baltimore and Pittsburgh for the first time in 20 years. Like I you could you could spend me a bit of yarn here that the AFC North is back. You could also spend me a bit of yarn that it's going to have a repeat

of last year. One playoff team and that's going to be a one and done team. Yeah, you can go both ways. I think most people inside the NFL think it will be a good division. Like you know, mentor going back to Baltimore. You always had that first year coach that gives you a lot of pop. You know, Seattle had it with Mike McDonnell. They won 10 games and then Raible had it last year with with the Weenland. I tend to think mentor is going to really rejuvenate that team, especially the defense, which was like bottom third best. I mean, they were really bad last year, especially by their standards. Cincinnati is I think the most interesting team because they've been really bad out of the start the last three years like all in three, one in four, two in five. There's definitely a sentiment in Cincinnati that they significantly improve the defense. They don't have to have Joe Borough outscore people 30 points a game. And then obviously they're just they're finally healthy.

And then Pittsburgh, I think it's a wild card as well. But I actually think it's going to be a pretty competitive division. Do you ask me like who gets the biggest jolt? I think Baltimore is going to surprise a lot of people. I didn't want to ask you. We got Ohio State starting tomorrow and we're in Buckuy country. And I saw you talk to Geno Smith and Garrett Wilson and Keeshawn Johnson. And Geno Smith said he thinks Jeremiah Smith is he told you this is he's going to be the best ever. That's high praise. That's what he that's what he yeah, well, keep in mind they're cousins. So there is I said that you know I said is there early on bias there and he's known him obviously since he was a baby. But I actually thought what Garrett said Wilson was equally as interesting because Geno said he he's always felt like this guy is going to be a superstar. But then Garrett said that when he got on campus Jeremiah like basically there was this there was so much talk about who's this kid you know who's this who's this super talented dude and like if you really that good is he is he because there's such a lineage of pedigree of Ohio State receivers particularly the last several

years. And he said that he thought he was like a man amongst boys. And you know you hear that term but then you actually watch Jeremiah Smith and you just think that I don't know if I've seen anything like this. And the comp we sort of came up with was you know maybe the best receiver to come out since Calvin Johnson Keeshawn of course said he came out when he was the number one pick 30 years ago but that's the company you're talking about with Jeremiah Smith. I mean he is as well reviewed a prospect as a Gibson you know he really will be in the conversation for the number one pick which hasn't happened since Keeshawn three decades ago. Jordan obviously we're keeping an eye on Miles Garrett and the Rams after the big trade in June and I know you had Braden Fiske on pretty darn good football player there on the defensive line on the Schultz report here recently. I was trying to think about any team that might come close to having the pressure that the Rams have on them Aaron Donald unretires the McDuffy and Garrett trade and last year you were a couple plays away

from being in the Super Bowl. That's how close you were in the NFC title game. I'm just like can you think of any team anywhere near the pressure that the Rams have going into this year. It reminds me of the so-called super teams of like the early 2000s I mean Philly had one of those when they got T.O. and they couldn't quite get it done against the Patriots in the Super Bowl. You know a lot of here's the difference. All these like super teams I mentioned I mentioned the Eagles but you could go back to the commanders when they got Albert Haynesworth and they had all this ton of money in that defense I think Angela Hall as well. All these season were free agency based. You know I mean the Rams they made two massive trades with McDuffy and Garrett and then they had the all-time you know unbelievable moment when Aaron Donald comes out of retirement so really no free agents percent. I mean they they they signed a couple including Jalen Watson who's going to start opposite McDuffy they were teammates in Kansas City but by you know all in all this is a

team that is going to be made up of guys who have been there and then a couple a couple trades so there's a tremendous amount of pressure. I don't think any team is better equipped in the Rams because of the success they've had and you know I've gotten into Aaron Donald really well and throughout the process of him deliberating coming back or not we had talked about whether or not this defense like like how he could this defense be and I think the combination of not only him and Garrett but you know Byron Young and Fisk and the secondary and the backers it really it's incredible but then you go to the office inside the ball and it's the same thing. I mean Stafford is playing the best football he's ever played they have two terrific receivers they've held off into line running backs they don't have a weakness. I just love the team. I mean Seattle Seattle is going to be really tough as well but the Rams have a lot of pressure. I just

don't think they feel it. I don't think they feel the pressure because of the coach and the organization. Jordan I got to tell you you agreed to come on on a Friday the last football Friday before the NFL returns you didn't have to do that we appreciate you. Hope you guys have a wonderful Labor Day weekend and keep killing a buddy we appreciate you. My pleasure guys thanks so much take care. Jordan Schultz there NFL insider again check out the Schultz report YouTube channel must follow that's what we're talking about here in the Y-Shart right we make it right call Kyle Wright hotline when we come back we'll react to what he had to say and we might we just might get into my 2026 NFL team tears in five minutes on 92 through the fan. That is Jordan Schultz of the Schultz report in the previous segment great stuff with him on the decision to just start to start what's that to start to show on the board today doesn't know yeah yeah. Jackson's really dying yeah yeah

well that is a decision that is a decision that is something usually a crappy one but that being said the decision to start should or Sanders and then I think people think you just do just you just I think this is your turn that's not I wasn't my turn no no no I've butchered it I've spoken maybe a hundred words in the segment and I butchered 97 every now and again yeah you know it's funny about it I do wonder if you do it so often I do wonder if people just tend to think it's like a bit you do oh you mean like if I said like instead of saying like issue I said it's you yeah one of those things yeah you're you're so relatable yours would be throwing in all sorts of problematic words yeah words you're not really supposed to say on the air it's been this week and just kind of throwing them in I dropped the G on angels yep we heard that I clearly we heard that I gave you blue jays but the other one yeah that was I I mean I didn't say it but I you

know we definitely put that one out of the either listen we're just into a new schedule this week in the last couple weeks I I can only use that for like another week of having a wake up at 5 30 now every morning I'm gonna use it every chance I get every if I keep saying what I'm saying you were clean on Ohio's tape that's true that's true when I really there was high money that one was going to go bad of it you know why cuz we were aware is that is that we were aware of the danger and I did not see the danger there but this sneak up on you you know one of the one of the lines that annoys me here is well if the Browns liked Shadore so much why why why why they why didn't they name him star you know week one starter or if Shadore so good why couldn't he be down to show that then the perception is that he has an outlaw two quarterback competitions and obviously different coaching steps two different coachings there I'll say that like three times in the last 24 hours and that's how people are genuinely taking this which I think is a little just off he was never going to win this to fansky one that one was cooked from jump street and then I don't know listen yes technically he lost this quarterback competition I'm not going to try to rewrite history as we're doing it right now and suggesting that he he beat out to Sean Watson but

monk in his essentially said the the books were cooked yeah it was always going to end this way so I just have a hard time and maybe this is where I was right I have a hard time admitting that idea that concept that he genuinely lost this I just that maybe I'm just being stubborn about it though isn't it talking a little bit outside but both sides your mouth there though from from certain people when they go well if Shadore was so good he would have overcome to Sean and he'd be starting week one while also saying maybe they feel better about Shadore learning the offense and that he'll be better week four because of it that's a little bit well as if they're doing Shadore some sort of big solid here yes as if this is all in service of Shadore and this is the four weeks that he would take is going to be better for him in the long term one it belies that Dishon Watson doesn't have a long leash which means they don't really have that much conviction in Dishon to the idea that the difference between Shadore being ready to start weeks one in three is two weeks of practice when he's not really going to see any of the reps and he's already splitting

already splitting scouts out team reps and then three if you start Shadore Sanders week three that competition was much closer than anyone wants to give credit for I mean I yeah not only is it much closer that's the it really what that would tell you if they go to Shadore week three that would tell you that they just really had to know with certainty that Dishon Watson could not do it yes and it's fine they gave they came to that conclusion quick then I I will be happy if they just come to that conclusion quicker than I think they will and that's all I'll be settled in on the idea that they really just wanted to make sure because there's that fear in the back of their mind in a season that you want to win games and you want to try as best you can but a season where it seems like they're focused on 2027 I really do feel like they needed to make sure Dishon did not go to a different team and then end up being good and that's maybe that's what two weeks is which which at this point I wasn't worried about bad reflection in the Browns if the Browns didn't play Dishon this this this season at all and next year he went and he he looked like the Michael Vic version with the

Eagles where Michael Vic with the Eagles didn't look anything like Michael Vic with the Falcons he was still a he was still a usable NFL quarterback he did sign two different 100 million dollar contracts for a reason yeah I mean I don't think he started one prison one post prison I don't think he started more than 12 games in a season with the Eagles are not aren't right about that I'm now asking you to fact check me on air but that's okay I can fact check you on the air I mean I'm fairly certain he did but that's all right we can we can do this but like Michael and by the way the point is Michael Vic was fine 2.0 he wasn't Michael Vic in Atlanta I thought it was one good year in total but I have to look out of here in Philly let's see he started at 12 games then 13 games then 10 games then seven games I was about one damn game I should have said 13 games okay no I'm not mad at you I'm mad at me because I was like for some reason the 12 games stuck in my head 2 1 6 4 7 4 009 2 but it's still again the whole point with Vic was that it got him it got him

a that that year one out of the gate is what he ended up getting that 100 million dollar deal off of you not only one comeback player of the year which is something we talked about yesterday but he went to the pro bowl he was an AP offensive player of the year number two selection there and he put up some he put up some pretty good numbers all things considered was it the greatest thing you've ever seen no but he looked he looked function only look good but at this point if DeShawn goes elsewhere and looks good you're going to say he never would have done it in Cleveland yes but that will be a reflection of Cleveland yes but also it'll be a reflection of DeShawn we should never lose out of the fact that DeShawn is not lived up to his end of the bargain the bulk of the responsibility for that is still DeShawn if we never got to see him play with a different head coach though we would at least I would I would look at the Browns and I would say you didn't think any of this blame could have fallen on Stefansky the lead in five minutes on 92-3 the fan
