Hour 4: Deshaun Watson’s speeding ticket + Will the Browns offense challenge opposing defenses?

We're talking about to Sean watching speeding ticket earlier. I I it isn't delicate situation because that my initial response is say I don't care. All right. I do care. I want all of these guys to be safe because I'd like any of these any anybody to place for the Browns or Guardians or calves. I'd love for them to live to see 90 because God knows they're going to have enough money to live very healthily until they're 90. So I I do care. I just in 2026 with everything else going on in the world with all the things I could

1:00be upset about to Sean Watson with 86 in a 60 just doesn't feel like I can muster up out right John. It also just seems really funny the idea that if anybody thinks the Browns are going to care about this. Yeah, you know what I mean? It just it just seems like being the line of the sand really would be you know what he's not going to start now. Like we don't take quarterbacks who speed around here. And Shadour got the ticket. I think people were genuinely concerned and we're like, Oh, do the Browns have to do something. It's like, yeah, Shadour has been a boy scout his entire life like this is this is maybe maybe even just having a conversation with the police officer is a lot for Shadour. All things considered right. But like to Sean is Sean's been through a lot off the field and the Browns have not really seemed to care about any bit of it. So like the speeding tickets not going to be in the world. I would be surprised if they even brought it up to him. Yeah. And they pant the end of things. Like you know what, Sean, old to Sean would speed too. And like you said, there's a way to bring life into him. Yeah, Houston to Sean used to go speeding all the time, right? 86 and a 60. That sounds about like 2019 to Sean Watson.

2:02I'm proud of you kid. Get back out there, speed racer. Just such an odd thing. And why why is it always Cleveland athletes that end up with these? I know our highways, some of them they do ticket more than I feel like other parts of the country. Is that all this is? No, I think that I think the stretch of highway where the Browns usually drive by a pretty easy place to go faster than you realize. I mean, this was like one of those just he just wasn't paying attention. That's how you get to 86. I think half of the reason we have 60 mile an hour highways around here is for people to get tickets. Yeah. I mean, yeah, there's a good take. I felt that one is at left. I was like, you know, I'm until big government of thing or two right up my head. I'm like a modern day Michael Markcatch over there. Is that right? Yeah, line up them political takes. He's so political. I just thought coming on him. He is. He's got thoughts like you wouldn't believe me. I mean, and you start pretty benign, right? Like there's those cameras, those flat cameras. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And before you know, you're getting a full blown dissertation on abortion.

3:02And it is just I get it. You got opinions. You tell me I'm just not agree to these allegations. Tows in the water. Yeah. Before you know it, he's always what's going to do in. He's giving us topics between the breaks trying to get us to talk about it. I was asking you a topic. I was asking you if you had seen what's about. Wait, Michael. Why is it possible to take and you ask us about it in between the break? I don't know what to tell you. Yeah. I really think it was a political take two days away from that anniversary. The Sean Watson was going 26 miles an hour over the speed limit. You nailed it. Haven't we all done 26 miles over the speed limits? Let's be honest. I don't know about that. I think there are actually a couple of people. Jonathan drives like a 97 year old person. That's true. I do. I've been behind you that.

4:04Enjoy the view. But what I thought of was that when that tweet came out, miles Garrett reddit said, oh, my gear. Yeah? Is that what he said? Yep. Yep. So that's my take on that. I mean, what's 26? All right, Mike. We should watch. Yeah. I think when you're like, who isn't, who isn't just daydreaming? And then I think I'm going 26 over. I'm like a lot of people. A lot of people would just accidentally hit 26 over. It's just like the idea that somehow we just Sean can't even impress a browns fan with this. That's a big thing. You know, he was my quarterback, he'd be 40 over. I mean, should or did hit the 90s. And Bernie did sign. And Bernie did minimize, you know, going 100 miles an hour back in the 80s. So if you're going to do something, you might as well be the best at it. The bigger go home, you might as well be the best at it. Except in speeding, don't do that, kids. No, no.

5:04I'm teaching a kid to drive and like, yeah, how's that going? No, she's actually great. That's what it really is. Yeah. That's good. I always do feel like it's, you know, it's the type of thing that you really have to stress to the kid. Obviously like, hey, this isn't a toy. That'd be my big thing. I already know this is coming. I'm like, this isn't a toy. No, that's going to be for the twins. Olivia is the most responsible 16 year old I've ever met in my life. She puts 16 year old me to shame, 16 year old my father to shame. She is conscientious, a hard worker, consider of others. If she naturally, I always thought that we were, our generation was naturally better at the, at just like, hey, we're learning how to drive because we all decruzoned USA so much. By, we spent so much time in the arcades and we were actually playing these like simulated car games that were real dry. It's like just as much as driving a car as anything else was. Yeah. For me, it's, I don't know that, I don't know if this generation does that the same way. My uncle used to refurbish tractors, take the, the mower deck off and let us just drive around. You drive one or two of those things into a, I don't know, a sister and I'm speaking

6:06merely hypothetically, certainly not something I did. Your sister with a tractor? No, no, no, I, sister, sister, like the, the septic thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. It was the kind of thing. It was the first time I ever drove a manual tractor where you click it up and, and down at a, in and out of gear with your right foot. Sure. I'm sorry, you're left, no, you're right foot. I'll get there eventually. But I, I clicked up when I meant to go down or something like that and I, that thing jumped right into the sister and he's like, how did you miss it? It was right there. It's like it was one foot in front of you. And I was like trying to explain it and he just wouldn't accept it and for the rest of his life, I ain't bleep about that sister. You know how many, you know how many wrecks I've had since then? One. Because I just knew that son of a, you know what was going to come out of nowhere. Even now, you can be a ghost and just come on and be like, oh, you didn't see that car there, huh? You mean you've been in one car accident in your life? My entire life, yeah. The average is 10 years. Every 10 years, you're supposed to get into car accident and that's the average. Well, I will be you when you got in your car accident. I was 20.

7:07Yeah. Oh, so you're due. Yeah. Well, thank you. Thank you. I needed that car moment. I'm due as well though, from being honest about it. I got, I got, I got an accident when I was like 17 years old. That was not my fault. The drunk driver was pulling out of a bar. It was, it was raining. I had no chance to stop. Everything else, Nick, has been five miles per hour or less. Yeah. Yeah, I got in a, I got in the span of like a five year stretch. I got in three different car accidents, where it was my fault, my fault in parking lots. Yeah. Yeah, for some reason I don't treat parking lots with respect. I had to learn to treat parking lots with respect. In fairness, I would drive like a madman in parking lots. In fairness, you're not the only person that doesn't treat parking lots with respect. Real quick here. Let's go with Lou and North Royalton. Oh, sweet, we'll, sweet Lou. How's it going guys? We're doing all the way to China. We're listening. Where, where was it? Did you say it was on 480? Yeah. Was it in Cleveland? I do not recall. I didn't get that information. I knew that information once upon a time and have already forgotten it. Okay, because yeah, Cleveland is so horrible.

8:09But anyways, the last guy said that what's 20? It was in Cleveland. It was 480 in Cleveland. Yeah, he said what's 26 miles over speed limit? I mean, the challenge should be thanking the cop that he didn't give him a speeding ticket. Because if you do 20 over the speed limit, the cop can give you a ticket for reckless operation, which is 4 points on your license. And that is usually what DUIs, people that get DUIs, that's what they play down to. They play down to a reckless operation that looks better on your driving record for insurance purposes than a reckless operation. So. Who had a thought? The Sean's biggest legal problem in 2026 is an insurance issue. I'd say this is a step forward. Yeah, we're heading to the right direction. Listen, I one time this was I was very young. This was like in the early 90s. My brother had was the first year that Alpha Romeo imported the 164 luxury sedan into the United States

9:17and my brother had one. And we went down to Dayton. He drove down to Dayton and then I drove back. And I would have made it from usually a date takes about three hours, depending on how you drive, the three hours, three hours, and 15 minutes. I would have made it from Dayton to Cleveland in an hour and a half. I was racing in Iraq and I was doing at least 141, 145. The cop got me on 71. He was coming in the opposite direction. It was in Mansfield. And he waited till I got on top of him. He turned the radar detector on. The radar on. And I saw the lights and you know, turning around in the grass and he pulled me over. He was really nice. I thought I literally was going to jail that night. And he looked in my car and saw that I had a radar detector. And then he tells me he goes, I guess they hand this quicker than the eye.

10:21And then he said, ask me, you know how fast you were going. I said, no sir, I was probably speeding, you know, excessively. He goes, well I clocked you at a harm five in a 60. So. All right. Sweet Lou, we appreciate you. Thanks for sharing. All right. Yeah. And this does bring to mind there that there are certain things that human beings can't help but share their like not one up in because that's not what sweet Lou did. But like one speeding ticket or one car crash story begets another in a way that is a little interesting for human beings. Well, I just we've all done it, right? This is like the idea that no one wants to be. No one will ever accept being told they're a bad driver. Why? It's because you spend so much time in a car and everyone does it every single day. And so like there's like, you know, there's a lot invested into that. So I think it's as simple as that. We do all we just all do it. So there's a commonality there. And if the average is every 10 years you get an accident, you probably been in an accident.

11:21There's probably an interesting story that comes along with it. 216 474 0092 big deal, little deal or no deal to Sean Watson going 26 miles an hour over the speed limit. I got busted back at the end of August there. Don't worry. It was after the emotional meltdown. What not literally after but several days after a big deal, little deal, no deal. And we'll finally get to those three damning to Sean takes and you choose which one you agree with and which one you don't in five minutes on 92 three, the fan. But Zach Jackson was on with the modern boys earlier today and he had a trio of damning

12:25to Sean Watson takes is there one you want to go with first because I do think we get us three different people which one of these is the most damning and I think they might they might all have a different answer Jackson O three is what I'd like to start with. All right, so this is Zach Jackson on Deshaun Watson and how we can challenge or not challenge NFL defenses. We did kind of catch win towards the end of the available practices for media that the RPO stuff was a little more of an emphasis. You weren't going to really do that with Shedore. It's comical because he's not even fast and where he doesn't have one skill that challenges NFL defense. But yeah, you're right. That's probably what they're going to do and really tied hinted throughout the whole spring that experience and mobility had given lots in the edge. He outright said that a couple of times. He danced around it a few other times. So we probably are going to see that but that to me is just comical. All right, if I was making a case that Deshaun Watson still has something left in the

13:28tank to to surprise people to get a surprise win over Jacksonville or play better than people think the only case he might have is mobility. But the problem is I've watched Deshaun look a touch slow each of the last three years. So I tend to agree with Zach, but like it does seem like the Browns are banking on the mobility part, which makes me wonder what are they seeing that I'm not seeing and that I haven't seen for four years. And that's the big question. Why do they think mobility is going to be the answer for a guy that has only had surgeries and only had problems with his knees and his legs and trying to operate. And so it's kind of embarrassing that that's the response in the answer. It's like he won because of experience and mobility and the mobility factor of it really isn't even a strength at this point. So that is one damning claim. The next one was when Zach talked about the ceiling of the Browns offense with Deshaun at quarterback. Let's see how it goes. I think there's a real ceiling on it. And then you wonder how he mentally reacts to the very first thing that goes wrong.

14:30And so I expect the game plan that keeps him out of harm's way as much as possible for as long as possible. But how does he react and how does the team react to the first thing that goes wrong? I mean, they're nine point underdogs this week and six and a half point underdogs next week. I mean, NFL standards, that's pretty strong. They're not expected to perform well. And if they don't, we know what could be coming. We don't know how it's going to go. We haven't seen any of this and goofy things happen in early in NFL season. We saw that just last year. We see that every year, right? So I'm a little bit open minded and not making firm predictions, but I just, there's nothing that I've seen for the last six weeks or for four years. It tells me that this has any hope. So what I think is interesting about this is I'm open minded that these skilled players, the Casey conceptions, the Boston's, the duties, the fan and juniors, the Quinch on Jotkins, the Samson, I'm open minded that those guys can make plays that, that might be able with a great defensive performance to catapult you to victory.

15:30But the overall idea is the one of the more confounding ideas about Dishon is I do look at as a low ceiling offense. I don't necessarily and I think the Browns look at as a higher floor, which I disagree with. And I think if I'm going with a high floor, sorry, a high ceiling low floor or a low floor low ceiling, I just, I really struggle with the idea that you would choose that last one we just talked about. You should always go for the highest ceiling possible in this equation, especially I mean, both combustible. Well, yeah, exactly. But I think the interesting part about what Zach was talking about with Dishon and then just kind of a, if you, if you, if you pull it back a little bit, it's just kind of fascinating to think about that he has to have this hot hand, so to speak. Baker had this. Baker always had, Baker had stretches and games where he'd be like nine in a row, ten in a row, eleven in a row, passes completed. And I hadn't really thought about Dishon, even though he should have maybe because of the, the Bears game and how that first preseason game went where it felt like he was doing

16:32well. He was completing passes and he got on rhythm. And then the first time it went wrong and went sideways, I'm telling you, if you game a whole game, that first preseason game, that second half would have been a disastrous. That's why they didn't. It was starting to spiral. It really was. And it was, and they got him out there just in enough time for people to be like, that was a good performance. That was fine. And nobody's going to bring up any of the awkward exchanges or the weird, almost fumble or backstual fumble where he just took it back and just lost control of it. Yeah. You and I, by the way, you and I got crap for saying that was fine because we didn't just say, oh my God, Dishon is back. Right. I know. I remember that. And part of the reason why is because you, you saw at the end, again, if you gave him that whole game, he was going to melt down. There was no other way of looking at it. And so I think what happened in the second game, Nick, is I think it just started off rough and it just kept going and kept staying rough. And when he puts himself into a hole, it seems like it's impossible for himself to bury his way out of it. And so I think, I think Zach touches on something that I think should be, should be prevalent. Like if he starts off with the hot hand, can he keep that going?

17:33Is that what he needs? And if he starts to struggle, is he just going to continue to struggle? All right. Now here's the third damning take of Zach Jackson talking about the potential lease and over under for how much we're going to see Dishon Watson. I put the over under at 10 and a half quarters. So now if he makes it to the over, then he probably makes it through the first month because it'd be hard on that short week. But I just, I just don't know what anybody sees in this. And I don't know anybody outside the building that sees what they see. I mean, we've seen this guy play. We know what it looks like. You hear the coach say body of work and we know his body of work. So how two years later could it be any better? This one actually might be the most damning. And remember, the first one was he doesn't have one skill that challenges NFL defenses. That is a dagger through the heart of the Dishon you got to believe thing. It's unrecoverable. The last one is, I will say that was like the best defense of the offense with Dishon. But when you say, I set the over under at 10 and a half quarters and nobody outside of

18:37the walls of the organization see what they see in this guy. I don't, I don't know you recover from that level of damning when we talk about this. Like that to me was the most damning thing we heard. Uh, yeah, I mean, I, it's just, you know, I think Zach, Zach's words carry a little bit more weight because he's there every single day. And uh, him speaking the way that he speaks like I, I can't tell you how loud people need to be, uh, or how often people need to be paying attention to this stuff. But we've, this is nothing new for us though. We've been talking about this for how long and the only, the only answer he's got back or the only clap back he's got back is he's got a show us in week one that we're all idiots. And we don't know what we're talking about. Well, and I think conversely, this is why the Browns, if it gets really ugly on Sunday, you can't hesitate. If, if Todd Munkin wants to set the winning tone and in Dishon Watson looks like a broken toy, all right, I'll, I'll listen to the idea. I'll keep an open mind. He might be able to run the offense at a proficient level, which he should be able to do 10 years in the NFL.

19:37But if the guy who showed up in that Buffalo game shows up against Jacksonville, you cannot put him out there for a full game. And again, I'm saying the most extreme version of this. I'm not saying that's the most likely thing to happen. Although I do think Dishon is going to look more broken than fixed on Sunday. But if he looks unplayable, you owe it to yourself. You owe it to that locker room to have the quickest hook ever because between one half a football and certainly what we saw from Dishon about three Saturdays ago, you've heard the truth. You can only hear the truth so many times and not listen. Well, that's, that's the Browns, but that's the way it's from. But that's what the Browns always test that theory. The Browns continually test that idea right there that you brought up. Like you can only hear it so many times or see it so many times. And the Browns always go with the answer. Well, I don't know that Houston, Dishon might, it might creep around the corner. I do think they're going to answer themselves. Did we find out about Houston, Dishon? If we can, if Munkin can do something that's the Fanski couldn't, you think they're going to do that in a half a football.

20:38They're not going to do that in a half a football. If he looks as bad as he did against Buffalo, yes. If it's your eye, yes, for them, no, no, no chance for them. I don't think it's equal. They don't. That's what we're dealing with. Todd Munkin can't run from the truth. That guy, that guy is far too honest. Todd Munkin will not be able to convince himself that in a half a football, even if he throws four interceptions and looks like he can't even throw the football forward. If he looks like Nathan Peterman, I bet you he can see the truth right between his arms. I think the front office and I also think Todd Munkin, that's the hard reality in all this is they haven't been able to see the truth. They're not going to have like an eyes wide open awakening to Dishon Watson in that moment in that half of the game. They're going to at least give themselves the full game. And I'd be shocked if it wasn't anything more than that. I mean, it's just it's it's how this works. I was thinking eyes wide shuttows. That's a very suggestive reference for Wednesday at 555, even if it is a home day down rider in five minutes on 92 3, the fan.
