He broke one in the same game, but that's when you really started to see, like, say, one Barclay was, was something different, you know, and I think that's where it kind of started. Jason, what's up, man? Joe, how are we doing? Doing great, Jason. How you been? Man, I'm doing great. I've had a nice little downtime here. Been with the family of bonds. You know, head down to the shore for one last rod and then

1:01football is back. Where I was saying, come on now. Let's go. So what is, so what does it look like going down to the shore, Jason, when it's just you and you're not jumping in a full vat of cheetos or something like that? What does that look like? Well, a lot of it is either doing a Uncle Bill's in the morning, starting off with some, maybe some breakfast sandwiches from this is brizzoles. There's, you know, we hit all the local spots. Shore break, you know, ice cream. I lost a lot of weight when I retired and got down to 260 and I'm already back up to 280 and it's not a good 280. The summer and kids and everything. It's been, it's been awesome, but it's not been great for the gut. That's for sure. I tell you what, though, man, at at at at 55 to see 260 or 280, that's that's love. There we go. Plus ice cream doesn't count when it's with your kids. He just has as much as you want. Yeah.

2:01Yeah. You have as much as you want. Jason, we're excited to talk to you and excited to talk about your thoughts on this Eagle season to come. But first, let's talk about your item in the Eagles radio, though, in which the bidding continues to go up here. So Monday night football meet and greet with you. It's a cool one. It's for the Monday night game against the Dallas Cowboys on October 26. So someone's going to get to meet you. Side line passes. Tell us about it and what people get to do with you because you would be here. Obviously with Monday night football. Well, we'll be here Monday night football. So you get to see all the guys that are on that show as well as get to see how everything happens behind the scenes. And then on top of I mean, it's the freaking cowboy. This is the biggest game of the year every year on Monday night. Prime time. It's going to be awesome. I can't wait. I can't wait for the game in general. Obviously a lot of noise around Dallas. People high on the Cowboys. It's going to be a really awesome game to be able to do this at. And yeah, it's obviously goes the raise a bunch of money for a great cause. So really excited to put this item up there and to ask them for.

3:03Well, got you. No, I was about to ask. So you get to hang out with you and kind of see a little bit how they make the donuts being high at the at the at the the pre game show. That's right. That's right. You'll get to see well this year. Now we have got Pat McAfee on it. Jason McCordy. My man Swagu, Marcus Spears. Yeah. So it'll be a fun a fun deal, especially like you'll be you'll be down there when players are coming out on the field. So it's going to be a good behind the scenes access, not just to the show, but to see the game from a different perspective as well. You know what, Jason? I'm kind of curious because you're still around that Eagles a whole lot, right? And you're doing the money night shows and everything. How hard is it for you sometimes? Cause I know you know everybody. There's a lot of guys you still play with. I'm kind of curious. How hard is it for you sometimes to be super critical when you're watching it? You might see like say, for instance, if you see Lane mess up or somebody like that, or you see when BG was out there, you see him mess up.

4:05How hard is it for you to be super critical when you see plays like that? I think that in general, you can never be worried about somebody being mad if you're being honest. I think that the reality is you can be honest and you can do it in a way like most players won't be mad if it's an honest assessment. If it's set in a way that isn't disrespectful. You mean like Colin, like, like, say if you're calling the owner like GM, a big fat liar, like Jody, I didn't say big fat law. I just call how we say big fat you you're adding to it. I just said it in bite. I'm going to invite go ahead. Yeah, I think you can give your honest taking assessment of things without, you know, launching into ways that might be disrespectful. And that's kind of just what you're thinking about, especially, I mean, in general, you're thinking about that, but you want to make sure with guys that you're friends with, you know, it's my job to report on these things, honestly. So like, obviously, the offensive line was not good last year.

5:07And Linda Dickerson and him, Germans were hurt, but they were a big reason the offense struggled. Those are all still my guys. I love those guys, but I have to be honest when I'm talking about that, but I don't have to do, you know, exploatives and go into, you know, hyperbolic statements that start to become disrespectful by nature. So I think of that. That's kind of the way you're navigating that, you. Jason, you mentioned the offensive line. And I think you're the right person to ask about the transition and just what you think of this new offense. And you haven't seen it yet with the Eagles. None of us have, but we've seen it around the league, right? It's become probably the primary offense. A lot, most teams run this kind of Shanahan McVey type of system. Your thought on the Eagles move to it. What you expect? And specifically the offensive line, do you think this is going to benefit guys like Jordan Milotta, Lane Johnson, Dickerson, all great players in the old scheme that you ran a lot. How do you think they're going to do in this new one and your thoughts on this offense? Yeah. I think a lot to unpacked. I'll start with this. I'm very excited to watch this offense.

6:08I think this is an offense that I enjoy watching and have enjoyed watching for a number of years. I love the way they utilize motions and how the run marries up at the play actions and the boots and the misdirection plays. It's a very fun offense to take in as someone who appreciates football. I think that this offensive line in particular has a number of guys that will excel at it. I think in this offense in the past, you know, when originated in Denver with Gary Kubiak and Mike Shanahan to what it is now, a lot of it has been with athletic offense alignment. The Eagles have a very athletic offense align, especially in key positions at Tackle and Center with Kim Jürgens. I think that they're well suited to run it. I think that they have an offensive line coach who is very experienced in it. They have a play caller who has been a player and a coach in it. I think it's a lot of signs pointing to I think the offensive line is going to perform very well in it. The one campaign has just been healthy, right?

7:10That's the main reason the offensive line struggled last year. That's the main reason the run game struggled is because of the injuries. So if they stay healthy and I just don't see why this offense wouldn't flourish with these guys that they have up front. You know, Jason, I have a question to ask another one and you played offense and I was wondering, you were talking about being hyperbolic. And I said to Joe a couple days ago in a four game setting like on average, I think that this offense could average 28 points a game like on average in four games. When you look at the new offense and the new I said the new offense, is that me being too lofty or being too hyperbolic when I think about this offense? I don't know. I mean, the points for game. I don't think it's hyperbolic. It's not a ridiculous thing. I'm telling you what I mean in four game average over four games, not like 28 points a game, but the average. No, what you mean? Yeah. I know exactly what you're saying. And obviously a lot of that's like who you're playing all that.

8:11I think that this offense has the ability to put up points. I'm still waiting to see what it looks like. So I'm not going to make that statement. I still want to see what Jaylin looks like in it. I want to see what Charmaine is going to do, right? Like they've been very guarded and what they've done in the preseason. I still want to see what all the pieces look like executing this on game day. I have high expectations. I have a confidence that they're going to go out and do it well. But at the end of the day, I still want to see it. And listen, they're going to have a great division opponent to start it off with. Washington's coming in here. There's all this news that they're doing all this Brian for stuff now with Dan Quinn and that defense. So it's going to be a very fun game right up the gate to see what these guys have been working on all off season. How they're going to utilize all these pieces and how Jaylin looks under center. 9:12Eagles and Cowboys Monday Night Football Game. That's a cool one. It's great. You get great tickets to the game, sideline pass as well. Jason, earlier you mentioned some of the hype around the Cowboys. I'm curious what you're thinking. It's funny. You said, you know, be honest and don't worry about the reaction. Well, last week I was honest. I was like, huh? I'm kind of worried about the Cowboys. They look like they've had a great off season. They've added a lot on defense Christian Parker. Obviously was a great coach here with the Eagles under Vickers now there. They look pretty formidable to me, Jason. They look like, to me, they're the biggest competition in this division. How good do you think the Cowboys are going to be? Yeah. Well, I'll answer it one with. I think the Eagles have a good enough roster and have a track record enough that they should not worry about anybody that they play. But I say that with the caveat that I do think the Cowboys have gotten better this off season. I think they're pretty good last year. Offensively, they're fantastic, right? Like they've every statistical category they did really well in last year. The points for game is high. Jack Prescott, although sometimes Eagles fans don't want to admit. Is a pretty good quarterback, CDLAM, George Pickens, really good players off its line.

10:17They've rebuilt from the era of the Zach Martins and the Tyron Smiths and the Travis Fredericks. They've rebuilt that thing. And the big question mark for them is what the defense is going to be. They get the Schampacher, the UCP. He's obviously very adept in the back end. What the front's going to look like. I'm anxious to see. They went out and they got, went in Williams in the mid season trade. They got Kenny Clark and the Parsons Neal. So they've added some pieces there. And then the entire off season, I've never seen this. And I don't know how many transactions are made. Every single draft pick in every single free agency acquisition they've made this all season was entirely under defense. I don't know that I've really ever seen that. All just be show one sided. They know they need to get better in that. They've made a lot of, they got the Kila Bounds kid. They've made a lot of investments to try and improve that area. But I gotta think they're going to be better on defense. So yeah, I think they're the number one contender to compete with in the NFC East.

11:19I think that the Eagles still to me have the track record of it. The proof of winning these games. So I'm still rolling with the birds. And I can't wait for Monday night in the link to be at that game. And I can't wait for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving Eagles. Kyle, I mean, come on. I'm looking for now, especially not the planet. And something tells me based on how everyone thinks and most ever, I feel like everyone we've asked you, Ross Jason, everyone seems to think the Cowboys would be pretty good, right? 13:22So you know, it's not, I've noticed this over. There's nothing that he likes more than when a guest validates what he said. I mean, I guess he has that. You hear that? Told you so. Before we go back to the phone lines, here are a couple things. So Jason Kelsey was on with us a few minutes ago. And he was talking about this new offense, right? The new blocking scheme and how he's admired it from afar and all the things you could do and how it's going to take advantage of athletic offensive lineman. He also, to me, was a necessary switch because he, he, he, the Eagles became so predictable

17:28out of the shotgun offense. It just was too easy to defend to the point where it felt like other players and teams kind of knew it was coming all the time. That was, that was said here by Micah Parsons, who's talked about how the Eagles were those teams, one of those teams. It was pretty easy to defend. Here it is. He lying. I mean, he, he long talked it. Well, he doesn't, he doesn't talk. He has a podcast. Yeah, he long talked it, but, but when you're, say, certain formations. Like, I formation, you got to process a lot of information because that, that could be first and foremost, you got to stop the run because that's, that's like a power formation. Sure. You know, and then you go 12 personnel. That's more of a formation for, for running the ball because you got the two extra block and block. And that's he is. We're going to see a lot of that this year. So it's, it's one of those things as a defensive lineman. You got to read your keys. You got to go, it's almost like you're hesitating because number one, you know, it's not a passing down because on passing downs, you want to get up. You got to get off the ball first. You want to be the first, when the ball move, you want to be moving because you want to try to get that jump on the offensive line.

18:30But when you're in 12 personnel, then you got that tight, say if I'm playing defensive in and I got that tight in right there, I'm looking for two things. I'm looking for a double team or I'm looking for like a scoop block. You know what I mean or something like that. Try to turn you. Try to turn me and get the edge. So my job is as a defensive lineman. If they're double team, I can't, I can't collapse on the double team because the linebacker's probably scraping over the top. So I'm trying to keep both of those guys and at the same time, I'm trying to do that. And I'm trying to run sideways because I got like say, of Hollis is right there. I got the tank coming because he's he's flowing this way. The real house, not yet. The real Hollis and everybody's flowing this way because that's where it looks like the play is going. We call it elephants on parade. So you got to keep the line because if they look at it like this, if somebody is out of their gap, that's a run lane. That's what say Kwan is looking for. He's looking for that run lane. So we got it. We got to be running down the line, holding those blocks, trying to stay in that hole so that they can't give a short corner so that the linebackers can't scrape.

19:32But if you're in shotgun, 90% of the time, you're probably throwing it. If it's a back back there, I'm going to take my chances getting to the quarterback. I'm going to rush the pass on the way to the running back. So to speak. So that's what I'm going to do. So he's right. So it was from easy to defend to now more complicated to defend. Well, now, and not only that, Joe, you're talking about the fact that we have a new offense, regardless of what we think is going to look like. When you go into that game, that first game, and you see Jayland on the center and you don't know it, you got to wait and see what's going to happen. You have to wait and see how they're going to attack you. That's why in the first couple of games, I don't think it's hyperbolic to say they score a lot of points because you don't know how they're going to attack. You don't know what's going to work. Yeah. You don't know what their offense is. You don't know what kind of sets they're going to come out in. We're all guessing. And the only thing you can go off of, I'm assuming if you're a defense coordinator, you're going to look at the offense of the Green Bay Packers that coach Manning was a part of when he was there.

20:33The funny thing is with so many teams have a new coordinators. The first month, the season could look wild. It could have, it could be one or two things to you. There could be a lot of points because no one knows what's coming or it could be all these teams are kind of off because they haven't, they're just all new to them. So the commanders have a new office, new defense, Eagles, obviously have a new offense. It's most the league now that is kind of brand new to start this season. Two, one, five, five, nine, two, ninety, four, nine, four, screw the phones. And then I do have an update. I think people will be interested in this. You, the athletic has concluded its investigation into Diana Rossini after all that, you know, stop. Well, we'll talk about it coming up. Let's go to David and Drexel and Hugh. Dave, Dave. Hey, how are you doing? Good to see you. I got a nice little chocolate party there. First of all, go ahead, David. With Jaylen Hurts, right? And I'm just looking on the computer right now. I didn't even realize that it's only three quarter, no, four quarterbacks in the entire league that had great seasons last year. Only got three. Oh, that means 28 or more touchdowns. They score in the game last year. And Jay and Hurts don't want everybody to say he had 25 and a thinking year. So you should be right, Hugh.

21:34They're going to score. I believe what you say here because I can easily see them scoring two, three passing touchdowns between Jaylen and Bartley, up Jaylen runs again. Dave won't get one or two. So I easily see him reaching your level. We agree on something. I'm like, yes, me. Are you finally finally finally? Yeah, I'm glad you guys found out. I'm going to ask you this in close. We had beef before in the past. You guys, you guys are good now. We did. Going back to Brasher, right? The still curtain. Franco Herrard, the receivers. He was on a Super Bowl team. I mean, Dave was all great. Didn't you take patchwork at home? Dave was talking about one of the best teams in the last 30 years. They were going to do a three P. He was on a superstar team. Brady, a superstar team coach, why receivers tight? So why is Jaylen the only one they say benefited from a superstar team? Well, I don't think he's the only one that benefit. I think Terry Bradshaw did. I'm trying to say that it feels like the line has been moved because it's Jaylen.

22:35But I don't agree. David, does anyone put Terry Bradshaw? It's got three championships. There's a four. Three. Is that four? But he played on a great, right? But David, I agree, but nobody thinks he's one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. Like his name doesn't even come up because I know a lot of time. Now here. Now it is. It's not. I think actually think Terry Bradshaw, Jaylen Hertz as a Terry Bradshaw of this era, four rings he has. It's kind of an interesting comparison. Got four of them back. Because he played with a great team, but Terry Bradshaw, I don't think anyone puts it in the same mix as Patrick Mahose. I think Mahose was last two years and they gave him more money because he's the best player and pro football for the past five or six or seven years. That's the last two years. Sure. Okay, I agree with you. He's playing with a hard. Jaylen was one at a top. No, he's not. He's not. You don't think Jaylen went to two Super Bowls to play also every year. He's not a top player. Mm-hmm. Wow. But Patrick McKeeer Holmes is and he had the greatest tight end. He had a superstar defense because think about this.

23:38He won two Super Bowls or field goals because the team had a great defense to stop the other team. He also, he's also thrown for 50 touchdowns and 5,000 yards in seasons. Like how many interceptions he throw for because you forget that. No, I don't forget that. He threw for 22 and yeah, every time he threw me at it, interceptions. David, I love you. And I agree with you. The Patrick Mahose has not played as well the last couple of years. But like the idea that Patrick Mahose hasn't been one of the best players of all time and Jaylen hurts is. Let me close with you. Come on. Yeah, I shall both this. What are we doing? Didn't they always say, and I'm only pushing close to 70, but they always used to say to be the best you had to beat the best. That's for boxing. That's for boxing. That's for one on one competition. No. Yes. It's for a regular. Hold on. Hey, here, in closing, can I ask you all one more question? Yes, of course. Yes. They were arguing on your station about his switching a little bit about who was the goat and they was Sam Michael Jordan or LeBron.

24:38And this old lady just 80 years old. Guess what? She told me to boo my mind. But she said I used to argue with Sonny Hill about Wil Chamberlain. She told me why he was better. And I was like, and I used to always argue that the green was better than him. But guess what she said? What she said? That he played in a time where it was like racism and sports, the integration that put him to score 50 a game or 100 that meant that everybody had to like more than a team. And we do an aero and that's fantastic for a guy in the 60s to have a team throw him the ball that much. And it blew my mind when she said that that he helped change in transition sports because it was dominantly a white team and it tasked him the ball a lot. Well, they recognize Dave. They recognize Dave. Yeah, he was they want to win. They recognize he's the man, right? He's the best player. Yeah. That's smart on there. Dave was like, we don't even watch all on the team. Some people. And it helped him broke the lines. And that was a beautiful thing. So he says across as she listens to y'all too across from my home. So God bless her and God bless you guys. How you are a little, uh, taking a back or not as aggressive when the quarterbacks under center.

27:47That's what it's going to do. Mm-hmm. And, and the Eagles defense tell me what's different that they're going to do. The Eagles defense tell me what's different than two years ago. You got it. You got big fans, you know, you got a super ball defense. Are they better than saying they can't be worse than two years ago when they won the Super Ball. Well, so it's a good question, Tom. I, well, okay, they were great. And Tom Gray-Funker. He said they can't be worse. I mean, they were the best defensive profile. That's a very high bar. I think they could be close to again being the best defensive profile. Like, when I think of the best defense, I think the Eagles. Mm-hmm. The Texans with Tameco Ryan's have historically been a great defense last few years. Um, Seattle was probably the best last year and they're going to return most of those players. So I would put those teams in the mix, but can they be quite as good as two years ago? That's a high bar, but jail X is getting more into is like becoming more of a vet, right? Jordan Davis is better than he was two years ago. Yeah, the one thing I don't think we've talked about a lot this summer.

28:47To me, the key to them being like two years ago, are they going to get the great jail and Carter season? Right. He got his contract two years ago. He was great. We know last year he wasn't. If you tell me right now, he's the jail and Carter we saw in the playoffs two years ago. I think it's the best defensive football. You know, it's funny and I was just thinking about this while we were talking. When you talk about one of the better defenses, and I say this without the respect, because I think it's a, it's a, it's a, uh, kudos to coach Fangio is that you're doing this without a, I guess for lack of a better way of saying it, a bona fide air trust. You're right. You know what I mean? When you talk about, when you talk about, when you, when you talk about those defenses that we've, we've been talking about, we're talking about the Rams defense. We talk about the Texans defense. You talk about Dallas defense. You're talking about edge rushes because what's the young, the young, uh, J. Sean Barham bar, bar, ham, the young guy that the third round draft picked at the Dallas Cowboys of God. They talk about him glowing endorsement of him as, as linebacker.

29:49So when you talk about that, now J. Lee's hunt could, he could be that because when you talk about the entity had last year, but when you talk about being one of the better defenses, and you have been one of the better defenses for the last three years, you've basically done it with a different individual almost every year on the edge. Yeah, on the edge. Josh sweats two years ago, Phillips last year. I guess they're paying Grinard to be that guy. So I mean that, that big head coach, Fangio has done a tremendous job of getting the most out of the guys that he's given. I, because he doesn't have a, he doesn't have as of right now, as of today, as of today. If you look at it, since he's been here, he hasn't had a consistent edge rush. I guess he makes up for it with Carter and Davis bond smart players. And, and Queen Young and Cooper have been outstanding players, smart players. And it's obvious that in his defense, his biggest thing. Yeah, you got to, you got to know how to play. You got to be a baller, but you also have to know what to do.

30:50You know, that's what it kind of feels like to me when you, when I hear people talk about Vic and how they talk about Vic, the teaching aspect of it is really big for him. Well, he doesn't put you in the field if you don't know what to do. All right, quickly here, I did say the athletic finally has its investigation wrapped up here with Diana Rousini. Well, here's what they said. This is from ESPN's story on, on the athletics findings. Diana, so former, I was reading, former athletic reporter Diana Rousini's relationship with Mike Vrable violated newsroom standards, but showed no clear bias towards the New England Patriots head coach, in court, into findings of an internal investigation. The quote that they put out the editorial director said, Rousini's relationship with Vrable was in clear violation of the athletic standards, regardless of whether the relationship was romantic, it was a breach, and should have been disclosed. They also apparently combed through all the stories she wrote for them, podcasts, appearances, like how many times she mentioned him, wrote about him, he, clearly they, I mean, they moved on from her. So, but they, they thought what, it didn't matter to them what she actually was doing,

31:53the fact that they were that close, that was a no-no. Yeah, you can't do that. Yeah, whatever it was that they did, you can't do that. Yeah, well, I mean, she's not been with them for a couple months, so I'm not super, but it did take a, it did, no, no, I mean, with the athletic. Oh, you, what? I don't know. You know when they drafted jail on hurts in the second round of the draft, which is not a pick you just like throw away. Howie came on the afternoon show on WIP came on different shows.
