How did you review the athletic report card on disgraced NFL insider, Diana Rossini? Michael Lombardi is out at North Carolina. Amid reports, the Tar Heels football program has had inappropriate sexual relationships among players and coaches. Supplying drugs to players.

Where does that take your mind? And give me the lesson from the Cowboys reworking contracts to get an extra 19 million in salary cap space. So the big story we talked about it earlier, it's on the podcast developing overnight is what could be a dramatic changing of the guard in college football as LSU has won round one lane, Kiffin and LSU. They got a friendly judge home field advantage there and bot hall ruch who ruled that for now LSU can play former NFL players guys that were in training camp in the NFL. LSU is also trying to add another former NFL player who got released in training camp. So that's a developing story today on this Friday, the southeastern conference will try to get an injunction. They're going to federal court. This is now a federal case. It's wild and crazy and it's also, and I don't know if I was going to talk about some other things here, but the the quick take on LSU and lane Kiffin and all that.

If this ends up working out for them, then obviously this changes the entire landscape and college football and people are saying it's a one time thing because of the 2022 class. I disagree lawyers will say, well, these guys are getting paid anyway and not an easy argument against that they are getting paid at the big time football clearing houses. So we'll see how this plays out. Our lead this hour though is from the card. What kind of card? What happened to be a report card? Yes, the athletic, the old gray lady, the old gray lady, they concluded their investigation of former and currently disgraced NFL insider Diana Rucini and her relationship. And boy did they have a good time, those kids there, the footsie and little cuddle, cuddle there with Patriots coach Mike Ravel, which would have been less of a problem if they weren't both married. The old gray lady, the athletic, the Rucini files, if you will, determined that she failed to disclose the relationship despite rules requiring journalists to reveal potential conflicts affecting credibility and all that good stuff and partiality, you know, the, yeah.

And everywhere you work, it's just weird deal because everywhere you work, you're like, they don't want you to hang out and I can't use a certain word here, but to enjoy the company of your fellow co workers, you know what I'm saying there. And that's more for legal stuff. They don't want to get sued because if you break up, it becomes a very toxic workplace situation. But most people end up meeting who becomes their significant other at work. Of course, these two people had already found their significant other, so it becomes a little more complicated also. Now, Rucini initially described the relationship according to the athletic as close with Mike Ravel. I would agree. She wasn't wrong. But she said strictly professional. Was that after the fourth or fifth shrimp cocktail that Ravel bought for her? I don't know. Investigators said her explanation of the photos with Ravel and there were many did not align with the facts. You think? Now the athletic claim they reviewed 903 stories.

God, that must have been boring. 77 videos. 204 podcasts. Holy crap. Who wants to do that? Roughly 25 outside appearances. Many of them probably right here at Fox Sports Radio, to be honest with you, the daytime shows love Diana Rucini. And anyway, they interviewed a bunch of other people, 14 employees, etc. Now investigators claim they found no evidence. No evidence that Diana Rucini falsified or slanted coverage to benefit her big honk, Mike Ravel. And no inaccuracies in any of the Ravel related stories. All right, that is a good jumping off point. We'll hop off the bandwagon. Let us discuss the question. How did you review the athletics review, the athletics report card on disgraced NFL insider Diana Rucini?

So I've got OJ Simpson, Chevron with Tecron and bumper sticker. And we will combine all of these things together. And we're going to make one's skin crawl. Well, we enjoy some jumbo liar, little Bob a Gnush, the Gabegu, we'll have some basketball soups, a pastrami sandwich and we're good to go. We'll French onion soup as well. So first of all, you want some of the, you know what? I'll get my ball soup is it's Jewish penicillin. We'll get you some of that. You'll be good to go. All right. So first of all, the athletic. I love these investigations are so over the top in sports. The NBA spent a year investigating the flipers, the athletic needed five months, five months, the athletic needed to discover what everybody else figured out in five minutes. They needed five months, everyone with any common sense knew what was going on after those five photographs popped up. And yet they had to check 903 stories and 200

podcasts and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Did they check common sense? Does anyone over there? The athletic have common sense. My god, this wasn't church and state. It was church and state sharing a poolside cabana in Arizona. So you're the NFL insider. You're publicly can doodling an NFL head coach. And like, what are we investigating? The weather in Sedona? She didn't cover synchronized swimming when she was at the pool. The my god, as she was an NFL person or reporter, whatever. But here's the deal. They say because well, they couldn't prove favorable coverage. They acted like the conflict. I guess it wasn't that bad. It was not great. Didn't totally disappear. Reading the review, I got the vibe. It was OJ Simpson. Like now, if you're old enough to remember, there was this very famous football player named OJ Simpson. He chopped two people's all heads off, made him look like peasant dispensers. And he got away with that in a criminal trial because the prosecution in LA were a bunch of numbscalls. And they got away with it. So then OJ went to a civil trial. And it's kind of like that. OJ civil trial version of journalism where Diana Rossini was.

Guilty ish and OJ, according to the court system was guilty ish. It's like going to Wells Fargo. And then Wells Fargo, they say, well, yeah, the teller violated company policy here at the bank, but the cash drawer balances out. So we're good. Okay, they found a clear violation. And they, I think this was like 2800 words or something like that, putting bubble wrap around the verdict. And they didn't throw the book at it. She doesn't work there anymore. Anyway, they gently placed it on the coffee table, the book and bureaucracy at its finest guilty time served have a nice cupcake.

And you think after North Carolina traveled to Dublin and picked up a dub, get a, got a win there over, who the, TCU, TCU last weekend, weekend zero. You think it would be all sunshine rainbows and lollipops for Bill Bella check. No, North Carolina football, whacked Michael Lombardi. Now they say he resigned. And the one resigned from these jobs. Come on. No, the answer, I think I've never met anyone who truly resigned. I've heard people say they resigned. I've never seen someone that actually did resign. Typically, the only reason you were resigned is because you're about to be fired. Just over a month after North Carolina placed Lombardi on paid administrative leave. There was an investigation. Now Lombardi is a long time confidant of Bill Bella check. He's in Bella checks inner circle. And as a result of being besties with Bill, the expats coach Bill Bella check made Lombardi the highest paid, highest paid general manager in all the land.

I've read that he made 1.5 million annually. How do you f up a 1.5 million dollar job? Well, he's certainly been trying for years. Didn't go over to the Middle East there to try to get some of that oil money for North Carolina. I remember reading about that. Anyway, he said wink, wink, nudge, nudge that leaving was quote best for me. Lombardi said. And would allow North Carolina to focus on the season because I'm sure all the players were worried about Michael Lombardi. I'm sure they couldn't concentrate on the field. Yeah, right. Anyway, the cons. Transverse extended way beyond Lombardi. Investigators are examining whether or not the spawn of Bill defensive 400 Steve Bella check used drugs at work, which is bad. And then the other issue is apparently he was according to the story that I read. He is I understand it. He was accused of peddling drugs to players. Who goofed. I've got to know. Yeah.

They also reportedly investigated alleged sexual relationships involving a recruiting staff member, a player, and even some assistant coaches. Man, they had a good time there. North Carolina. Man, of course, that kind of happens all over college football. Yeah, some somehow they always find the hottest women to be part of the recruiting departments. I don't know how that is. I've never ever seen anyone. They never get a homely woman and say, Hey, can you go help us get recruits? Why don't they do that? All right, question. I can't figure it out. Question Michael Lombardi out at North Carolina. Amid reports the Tar Hills football program has been involved in all of the debauchery with inappropriate relationships between recruiting staff members and players and Bella checks kid and weather players were getting drugs and whatnot. So where does your mind go? Like, where does this take your mind on this latest revelation with North Carolina.

So it's a bit of a data reference, but it's national lampoons animal house relocating to Chapel Hill North Carolina running an ACC football program with Bella check like the Delta Tau Chai with shoulder pads. The whole thing and you know, sex drugs and rock and roll at the classic late 70s song back in the day there. And the Tar Hills Bella check is bestie Michael Lombardi there who's now been ex communicated, which is bad on two levels. It's bad for him. He lost 1.5 million. It's also bad for people because you know, he's just going to do a podcast again. All these investigations and all that stuff. So meanwhile, Bill's kid was a legend. He was a relatively visiting doctor feel good. And that's another massive headache in year two for Bella check who's got a 50 million dollar deal. And we don't know the details on that. There was a famous story. The most famous son involved in drugs in sports. And I was a young lad back in the day, but there was a guy named Yogi Barra who was a Yankee legend.

And his kid Dale Barra, not a legend. He was playing for the Pittsburgh pirates. And as our friend from Memphis would say, he really loved the Colombian Bam Bam. Dale Barra. And there was a big drug scandal in the, I think it was in the 80s. And yeah, bit of a bit of a mess. Times are different now. So it's not as big a deal as it was back then. Now, so if you look at Bella check right now from 30,000 feet in the sky, we all know that if you win, you turn controversy into what controversy becomes music. What kind of music elevator music? Everyone hears it. But nobody pays attention. You look the other way. The moment you lose that elevator music. Well, it's no longer elevator music. That noise turns into Chevron with Tecron high octane gasoline poured directly onto the fire crank it up to 11 on Bella checks chair. And you win scandals just a footnote. And you say, oh, the boys will be boys. You lose. And the footnote becomes the entire book.

And welcome to Chapel Hill, the Toga, Toga party optional. And victories mandatory years ago in my early days in radio. I was at a event where the living. This was many, many years ago. They had a anniversary party for animal house. It was in Westwood right near the UCLA campus. I was doing local radio. And my boss thought to honor animal house. They would have me and my friend Dave Smith, who I was doing the show with the Ben and Dave show. We would dress up in Toga's. And it was one of the most awkward. It was like a humiliation ritual. I showed up to do the show. And we had to go to the bathroom at this restaurant in Westwood and change out of our clothes into a Toga. And we then stood on Westwood Boulevard with cars coming. And we had a big, big, busy part of LA. And what a pain in the ass. I'm still bitter about that. There you go. Anyway, let's see what happens.

Final thought. We go to Dallas. Dallas. We go the cowboys reworking some contracts. They belong to defensive tackle Kenny Clark cornerback, Doron, bland and tight and Jake Ferguson. Now created more than $19 million in additional salary kept space as the regular season begins next week. Dallas generating enough room. We are told to acquire a frontline NFL player by moving around three contracts. They also did not have to release anyone. So there are now going to be able to make a mega trade. Of course, they're not going to make a mega trade. Are they? We don't think they're going to make a mega trade. The question though is this. Give me the lesson. I would like the lesson from the cowboys reworking contracts to get an extra $19 million in salary cap space. So the salary cap is the biggest con job in sports. And every year you people fall for it. You fall for it every year. Not me. I'm a salary cap truth. The capologists are basically hogwarts accountants, supermarkets, Steve. They're hogwarts, accountants waving their little calculators around. And they're warning us that teams are headed to salary cap hell.

Yeah. Oh, Mike. Remember the Rams won the Super Bowl a few years ago. And I was told they had no picks and they had no salary cap space. And they were never going to be good again. And they've pretty much been a playoff team almost every year. And now they're the top team in NFL football going into this year. And y'all told me they had no future. They were in salary cap hell. You lied to me. So anyway, it was a salary cap hell. And then September arrives and like Lazarus. Come on down. Right. The dead money rises again. More proof of my bumper sticker on the Malamobile. It has three words on it. Cap is crap. That's the bumper sticker. And as they told us on the iconic Wolf of Wall Street movie. It's Fugasi. It's Fugasi. It's fairy dust. The salary cap yesterday Dallas supposedly had just $14 million in cap space. And all of a sudden they have more than $30 million to add a nice big name player. They just created $19 million like Jerry Jones owns the federal reserve. This just in he doesn't.

And so again, Aber could Aberhocus focus all this stuff. And the Cowboys like a rabbit coming out of the flying helmet. You know the helmet flying through the other rabbit jumps out. So spare me the next breathless lecture by some point texture about the NFL. I can't afford this player. That teams in trouble. No, it's just an excuse NFL teams love the salary cap because they can manipulate it. However they want. And they can say we can't add any good players because of the cap and all this book. Well crap. Don't tell me what an owner can't afford. Tell me what the owner doesn't want to afford. Doesn't want to pay for. It is the Ben Mallor Show. As we roll on through the overnight. I'm driving from purple to Tampa. So that being said, 40. Bill's been heading back to most of what I can't tell you that I see in the parking lot for in the stadium at rich.

We've got close to her now high mark stadium, but you mentioned the trunks in the state. Okay. So around college years, I had friends that would go to the stadium in snow. Bill's because it's cold and snowy. They sit in their seats, but they would never use their ass rooms. And I can tell you why. Because they weren't depends. They would do their business and to see. And it's either brilliant or disgusting. So head to get dead in the good words of Josh Allen Godblows. You could be good. Go. Thanks. Alright, boy, be safe. I drive him from Buffalo to Tampa. There he goes. The bills. They do it differently in Buffalo. They do. Fergdog says, Hey, Ben, can you tell Mike in Dallas next time he calls that his bad takes make the rest of us. Mike's look bad. How's it going, Bill? What's up, my man? Frank, you have amazing takes. I cannot wait for these takes. It's amazing. It's amazing. Yeah, well, how do you think? What do you think is going to be winning the NFC North? And who's going to division? Cause I heard from a couple of outside sources that Frank Frank. How many of you have Frank? How many years you've been calling me Frank? Let's see. I know it's been by 11 11 or 12. And how many years have you called me up and asked me who I thought was going to win the NFC North, Frank?

My 11 or 12. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. I've been a fan for, if I've been a writing fan for 13 years, 14 years. No, take that back. Take that back. It's been 23. Is that right? Alright, listen, I'm happy for I just know I used to be a fearless fan before that. Yeah. Alright, well, this I'm you changed. I don't know if you're allowed you must have been a kid when that happened. I would hope, right? I would hope that was the kid. Yes, yes, yes. And that's what that's the thing. Yeah, maybe they actually used to call me Franco. Oh, is that right? They called you, they called you Franco. Yeah, he called me Frank. Oh, here. I kind of look like him. I get the revenue. Any college football games you like anything you like this weekend in college football? Well, is yeah, there's one way of one or maybe two. I'm thinking I was state, but then I had a relative that went there and then I was thinking about local here, the local school here is great.

Yeah. They're okay. They're okay. I am going to give out a exclusive mall or selection, mall or selection here. And I was looking over on draft Kings. Yeah, the game that I'm focused on is on Saturday tomorrow. LSU is hosting Clemson. This is the game, right? Everyone's on the back room. Yeah. And LSU say first game, jitters and all the LSU is going. They're favored by 10 on draft Kings. I normally take the points. I would normally take the points. But in this case, I'm not. I'm going to I'm going to lay the lumber on LSU. They will win this game and they blow out and by the way, they're like said, they're playing clubs. And by the way, the weight is over. Football is here. And so is draft Kings. Draft Kings is now live in all 50 states. One app, every sport, all 50 states right now use the promo code mall or to claim your special offer at draft Kings. Again, that's promo code mall or a draft Kings. The crown is yours.

How was that read Frank? Was that good? Yes, great. All right. Thank you, Frank. I got to go. Okay. All right. Go away. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Right now, let's go with Marcel. You're my voice over guy. You know what time it is, Marcel? Come on. Come on, Marcel. Yes, it is. Coups scoop on entertainment. It's a Friday tradition. We made it to the Liberty Weekend. All right. For Hollywood. It's a music. We're in an excerpt now. Here's Justin Cooper. I forgot that on X all yours. Thank you, Marcel. As always here on Coups scoop entertainment. We're going to start off in the movie theaters. Opening this weekend, a couple of movies I want to point out. First one is called by any means. And now this, yes, this is based on a true story. A young black FBI agent played by Yaha Abdul Matin the second is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Not familiar with his work, but neither. He's sent into 1960s Mississippi to investigate a wave of brutal killings targeting civil rights leaders. He's forced to work alongside notorious mafia hitman Greg Scarpa, who was played by Mark Wahlberg.

Oh, yes. Finds. I'm not still making mob movies. That's good. Yeah. Finds himself pulled into a deadly hunt where justice and vengeance begin to blur. Yes. Also starring in this one is Jean Carlo Esposito of Breaking Bad Fam. Looks pretty good. Reviews so far are good. Like I'd say mediocre to good. But I'm going to check it out. Mark Wahlberg, you know, looks like he puts on an interesting. All that money and he's still still. I heard those wall burgers. He made a ton of me on those wall burgers. That's for that. Never been there. I don't think I maybe was there once, but it wasn't memorable because I don't obviously remember. Right. That makes sense. Yeah. Another movie I want to point out. This is called Fall 2, Dead Point. Now, you may remember a number of years ago. I'd say like, I don't know, maybe like three to four years ago. There was a movie called Fall where it was these two women trapped on top of this tower way up in the sky. It was actually pretty good movie. I watched it. It was one of those, you know, sweaty palms type of movies where you just sitting there in the theater. You're uncomfortable the whole time.

This one tries to, you know, play off that same experience. It follows two new characters this time. They're on a perilous climb across Thailand's Mount Kwan. And they become trapped thousands of feet above the ground. Now, the reviews on this one, not quite as good as the first one. I don't know if that's just because it's no longer like a unique idea or if it's just simply not as good. But I'm sure it's exciting either way. I will probably check that out. That's in theaters right now. Fall 2, Dead Point. Now, moving on to television. We have a new movie on Apple TV. It's called Mayday. It is available to stream right now. It is an action comedy. From the writer, director, or doer of Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis daily, the dungeons and dragons honor among thieves. That was very popular. This one finds Ryan Reynolds playing a US Navy pilot stranded behind enemy lines while in a top secret mission in the USSR. He forms an unlikely bond with an XKGB agent.

Oh, yes. That one's got again, kind of, you know, okay, reviews. And last but not least is a new series on Apple TV. This one doesn't premiere until Wednesday, September 9th. It's called Last Scene. And it is a six part Australian thriller where a police dispatcher receives a distress call from a teenage girl whom he believes to be his daughter who disappeared without a trace over a decade earlier. First two episodes will be available on Wednesday, September 9th. That's on Apple TV called Last Scene. And that is Coop's Group on Under Team. All right, there he is. The Coop aloop unbelievable. We got sports jeopardy sports jeopardy. Moments away. If you want to play sports jeopardy call right now. Check it out. That'll be here momentarily 877 99 on Fox. That's 877 9966369. We will get to that and we will do it. Next.
