1:01Well, I'm saying they're not a lock. They're not a lot. What do you want to do? Come on here in life saying 15 wins? No doubt about it. I mean that probably but it just feels like the NFC is better Right, there's a lot of good, you know teams in the north in the west So like once what if we factor in the Cowboys as a threat like if we lost the division all of a sudden It's like, oh, you know, we're gonna get a wild card. 3:07Right so with the Phillies I kind of agree with you with it's got to be sure where that says something It's not a maddingly thing. There's nobody else you can't have Harper talk to the team about base running can't have You know, maybe trade turner, but he's hitting 200 so he didn't have a lot of clout either. He's probably their fastest up player But that that played with marsh last night was the one that hurt the most because Two things happen one you you get another out that you Shouldn't have and remove the guy off the base That that really killed that what would have been a probably a decent rally and that Base running just totally killed the last night and the ball was in front of him like I could see if it was right behind second And he kind of got twisted around. It's probably in the four somewhere It's 333 something like that and in this homestand He is three for 18 batting 167 He has three sit hits all singles no rbis no home runs no extra bassits in this homestand He's showing up. Yeah, he while he's cooled down. I mean Dennis you're right. I mean he was red hot in terms of getting on base

6:13And you know, it was a 35 36 game on base streak in the month august in the September, but he's cooled down a lot Yeah, I mean like there was the one I think it was after the tray home run last night You could tell he wanted to go he wanted to go yard. That's what I think So jellens rushing we find it here At so his first two years as a starter seven hundred eighty four yards Jellon running last year 105 attempts 421 yards so his peak was seven hundred eighty four It dropped to four twenty one last year. It's a big difference. Yeah, it's a that's a massive difference actually I think that I hear what you're saying and I know what you're asking, but I think that it's important I don't think jellens rushing is gonna be up

8:21But I think his passing is gonna be better if that makes sense But I just I wonder if he can be a great pastor without his legs What I mean by that is the threat of his legs. 9:23Yeah, then they they'll freeze or and they may get some yards where they come up and then he throws it over their head All right, keep speaking a jellin couple of quarterback pieces of news the last couple days that I find really Interesting when it pertains to jellin and it's in his future and obviously a contract here So he two different quarterbacks taking wildly different approaches So let's start with CJ Stroud CJ Stroud the young quarterback for the Texans on a team I think kind of similar to the Eagles led by their defense, but you know if he plays well They got a good defense great defense And they blanket shit now they had it obviously to me go Ryan's leading lead as the coach But Stroud is coming up to the end of rookie deal right and according ESPN They offered him a deal in the range of 50 million per season which now feels like the middle point of quarterbacks That's not high anymore, right like we're moving past that He's he's turn it down He's betting on himself to become a 60 million dollar quarterback next year So CJ Stroud not signing in he said nah, he said no opposite approach after at first saying he was done negotiating Yesterday Baker may feel so now I'll take it the bucks gave Baker may field three years 165

10:27Then he get like 55 but for the five million per season Hugh Douglas if you were jellin hurts and you had both opportunities would you take an extension now for Let's say middle to pack quarterback money or would you bet on yourself as the market rises a year from now Maybe the Margus the new deal maybe burrow whoever and then you can if you play well You could slot into upper sixties in terms of money. You're jellin you bet on yourself. You're taking them off Bet on myself because There in order in order to get the deal done there has to be two parts negotiating right I don't feel like the Eagles you know how you know the the history of the Eagles. They don't negotiate Let's let's go on the premise they would No money right now. Yeah, no, I wouldn't I wouldn't because I feel like it would be too much of a distraction I will go out there at this point and late in this late in the game if I'm jellin I'm just playing football and I'm focusing on football and I'm focusing on being the best quarterback that I could be for the Philadelphia Eagles this year. That's what I'm focusing on because there's a lot

11:29There's a lot of uh talk about or speculation about what I'm gonna be in this offense. So I Want to see I would want to see so you would take the risk you don't you know I mean there's the good would be you you dominate you play well. You're an MVP candidate And you get 65 70 million a year next year But the other side of the coin exists too right if you don't play well then I mean you might not get a contract from anyone to any note Not I think I think jellin jellin is gonna get something I just it just all depends on what that is well, but if he doesn't play well He's not getting the same kind of money well I mean Kyler Murray's playing for a million bucks this year. No, I think Jalen still is gonna be he's gonna make it He's gonna make a nice little piece of cheese now. It all depends again, Joe How much progress you're making his offense because I think the thing that we're forgetting I don't think it's zero Some for Jalen, but he has to show improvement. Yeah, well, he does. I mean This is an easy one for me if I was jellin right now and the Eagles offered me somewhere in the range of like what I'm making now Because he makes about 51 million I would I would take it in a heartbeat and and lock up the security of being the Eagles quarterback

12:30I mean isn't this good for him? No, I mean it is I think it's a great spot for him and I think I think that is legacy continues If he stays here for the next two or three years, they're gonna he'll win right that's his thing and no win games with him And he doesn't have to worry about like hey, what if Sean Manion has growing pains? What if this offense? What if these receivers are not great for me and I struggle and it's not even my fault I mean it it would be a no-brainer for me if I was jellin hurts and they offered me 51 52 million a year for an extension. I would take it in a heartbeat I would I would bet on myself because there's a lot of of angst going into the season There's been a lot of if I'm jellin and you know if I said that uh and this is me because Yeah, there is There is a team that you know as people telling what's being said about it And I'm pretty sure he's familiar with what being said about it I would go out then had the best season I can and ball out yeah And I would hold the Eagles feet to the fire because I'm petty there is one element. I feel we're missing here The lot of this is out of his control like he doesn't have Great weapons

13:30No, it's totally in his control Joe. I don't think so why not why he's quarterback This is the worst group of weapons he's had and you know what and that's where he needs to he needs to pick his game up in shine Right, but he can't let's just play out of scenario. He can't make de te vion wicks catch a ball in traffic if he has drop issues If he can't make it if he puts the ball into the te vion wicks hands when he's in stride He has a chance to make some plays in the packers dumped de te vion wicks is because he has dropped it I mean, you know what Joe and and the reason why we picked him up is because we saw something in it and that that we can might salvage And I like wicks. I'm not I'm not trying to knock him out. I'm just saying I'm just saying Jalen can do the right things and there's a scenario where manians green and not ready for this Yeah, a scenario where the where the offensive blankets banged up again a scenario where The receivers aren't great and we at the end of the year Jalen's numbers are very pedestrian So all all time we're looking at all types of scenarios. Well, that's why if I'm him like I take the deal on heartbeat. Yeah, but but you also If you're Jalen You you look at it like this if they haven't offered me a deal all this time and the season about to start

14:34I don't want that distraction. I understand. Well, they can they feel it changes mind your strength. Baker may feel But Baker may feel having dealing with them for a while Joe sure And and he had set up in his mind That he was getting ready to move on he and so they they they caved in this situation It doesn't feel like that's the case here. Now I understand what you're asking me But if I'm Jalen and the season about to start I'm betting on myself. Yeah, when look because I I feel like he feels He's gonna have a good season. He's confident in that I also with you know, I don't know how Jalen thinks um, but I would if I were him I would think about it from the Tom Brady perspective Tom Brady didn't ever push for the highest salary at the position He stayed with a team that was great that was well run and he constantly took middle market deals And look at and look at his legacy now as as the biggest part of that obviously But you know, he could have easily held out or waited or bet on himself And I don't most of those contracts of New England were very simple and it was like yeah, he got paid But it wasn't top of the market so I don't know what Jalen wants
