Bobby Carpenter coming up in just about 40 minutes time Nick Wilson, Jonathan Peterlin with you. Early in the show, we talked about again. I think everyone's expecting big things from Ohio State, but as it relates to week one buzz, there seems to be a lack there, a lack there of with my Ohio State friends. And again, like that is, so how I think some people do with a lot of Cleveland sports, which is, oh, I kind of connect about sports through those friends. That's really Ohio State for me because I didn't go there. And like, you know, it's, it's, I'm always kind of like leaching on to their excitement about it. I'm an Ohio State fan, but it's different if you're a Walmart Ohio State fan. I was going to say, are you a Walmart fan? Like a scriber now as opposed to like a, I went there or I'm from Columbus. That's kind of another like sector of fans. Yeah. And again, I think people are excited for November. I think people are excited for maybe Texas and USC and Oregon.
Yeah, I mean, Texas is the game of the month. But like, I think, and when it comes to overall, I think there's just not as much, that's much panic when one loss doesn't do you in. And what's interesting is I'm kind of the opposite on the brown side of things because clearly, I think they're going to be competitive. And so I define that as seven to eight wins. I've locked in eight wins by the way, because I have stones, but like, I'm really excited for this brown season. I have no confidence. Dishon is going to do anything that interests me. And I'm probably going to be mad about Dishon Watson's play two Mondays from now. But overall, I'm still very excited for this Jacksonville game. And I'm excited to see all the parts about this browns team that I think over the next couple of years, people are really going to start to like. I'm excited, but I think it's just because we do this every day and we've been waiting for games. I do wonder if I had just a normal nine to five job, how pumped up I would be for the
2026 season. Oh, see, I think it's, I do think I don't think this is just it's the 2026 season. There are seasons that have been like that, by the way, where I've gone in being like, once we get into week two, I'm just, I'm just probably going to, I'm going to simmer down a bit. I mean, should or being as, you know, as the backup and it's almost like a fun reserve. You just happen to the fun reserve anytime you need to. There's going to be a jolt that happens when Shador gets named the starter. I just think whoever starts the most amount of games this year through the course of 18 weeks, I think they have enough around the quarterback to make it interesting. And that's all you really need in the NFL. If you're functional and you've got some playmakers, I, you don't have to score 30 points a game. And I think that's where maybe some people are forgetting the Browns offense was so putrid last year. How putrid was it? It was unwatchable. But like it was so I get that people are basing their expectations for that offense off
of two things. The Sean Watson. It's tough to have good expectations there. And the second one is, well, they were unwatchable last year offensively. They're going to be unwatchable this year. I don't know the Todd Munkins going to get you 27 points a game. I think Todd Munkins going to have this thing a little bit more fun because I think they've worked on the things that held you back offensively. I think the motion is going to be back in this offense. I think they're not going to have as many procedural penalties. At least early, you sure as hell shouldn't with the Sean Watson we have. Last year just got to be a ridiculous rate of offensive line penalties in particular. And then concept the own fan in. Denzel Boston. I think Jerry Judy and like the secondary role as a wide receiver might do something interesting. Judy can be fun. When he's playing football, he can be a lot of fun. Two years ago, Jerry Judy was a lot of fun to watch. And I think people have overstated the concerns about the offensive line. Do I think there's a chance that you're right? Of course. I think you're worried about it. Yeah, I'm worried about it. But I think I think I think we've talked about the upside and the downside of this team and the things we like and the things we don't like that I do think the offensive line
has been something that's been overharped upon. I actually think they're going to come out and I think they're going to be fine week one. I think they've got a really great offensive line coach. And I think the key to maintaining quality offensive line play will be the hope I would have is that it's I'm not expecting anything week one. It's five new guys on the line. So that's a lot of expecting fun functionality. The hope would be by week six, seven, eight, some around there. Then we start to figure things out. I guess I guess the hope I would have with the offensive line is it gets there. I don't know halfway through the season. I really don't have much expectations early. I'm expecting functionality week one. I think there's going to be a couple plays that I go, oh, you had three guys blocking on a screen and a couple of them with, but I'm also going to have enough enough evidence that these guys are going to be able to play. And I think you I think by the time you get to week eight, I expect them to be a very good offensive line. I think that's probably they're sealing by the way. I don't expect to be a great yes, I would put that as like the 13th or 14th.
I know would be exceptional if they got there. I exceptional. Yeah, if they if they got to 13th or 14th, I think that'd be that would be very good for them. I think that's incredible. I'm not holding out the same hope as you are. Like I honestly, I do think health is part of why they were so dog butt last year. But like I just look at this and I go, I'm I'm I can say this at three 40 when we talked about the lack of buzz for Ohio State. Yeah, we're talking about it. And I'm like, I'm saying all these things that should be exciting to me. And it's my my pulses and changing at all. Yeah, I'm like, I'm depressed now. Why am I might not excited about this? I can't feel anything. Am I dead inside the answer? Yes. So always the test I have for myself. Am I having fun watching this football game? If the answer is no, I might be depressed right now. But like I'm genuinely getting charged up about this. And I am and it's funny. I don't get when it comes to like expectations, whatever, I don't really get like, I don't really get like, you know, screw you about it. I kind of am screw you about this.
Like I'm worried. I'm worried the Monday after the week one, the Jacksonville game is going to hit you like a truck. There's got to be a Monday after. I'm trying to mentally prepare you for her. If it goes the way that Nick shook and all the NFL dot com writers seem to think that it'll go every one of those are they're getting a suck at twig for me. I don't think I don't think people like myself. I don't think we're protecting our feelings or doing anything that way. I think we've just kind of made peace with this. And if anything great happens, that's awesome. That's about to be surprised by it. My expectations are not greatness against the the Jags in week one. Can I drop my perfect week one? Sure. I give that to you. Yeah. I mean, I give that for you. I'd love that. Yeah. I'd like to do that. Visit include no Ohio State win against Texas. So we're just at every doing a different. I'm in a real week one. I meant I meant NFL football. NFL football. The real stuff. Not the amateur. You're sure? Yeah, the pros now. But all right. So perfect week one. It's not going to be a great start. All right. You have a couple. Oopsies. Perfect. It's still has some blemishes to him. I'm about to story Jonathan.
I'm about to journey. I'm not about the beginning. Okay. All right. Okay. Like if Harry Potter started and he was just he was like, I'm not stuck in that bedroom. Yeah. And his his his aunt and uncle loved him. So he's like a nepo baby. Is Harry Potter a nepo baby? Yeah. The movie just wouldn't hit the same way. I wish I knew Harry Potter to be able to clap back and be like, that wasn't that that one character. I don't know enough about Harry Potter to do that. I mean, that was that was Dudley Dursley. Is that right? I think Hogwarts would have a lot of rich people attending it, right? Well, rich witches. Yeah. A lot of rich witches and warlocks, of course. I don't know if that's what it makes bag of a socio economic. You're a wizard Harry. Yeah. All right. Yeah. Sorry. I just want to do that. Now, it starts out not great. Now, the defense is looking good. Okay. The defense actually is looking good, but we get a Dishonned pick six within that first quarter. Oh, jeez. And then second quarter. Again, it's only seven nothing. Jacksonville. I maybe 10 nothing, Jackson. I know you're probably already getting some tweets. Yeah.
You goober. Why do you want to mystic? Oh, yeah. You fat, so and so on. I'd be like, mom, get off Twitter. Um, and then we then we have a disastrous fumble from Dishon. Okay. But again, the Browns defense holds firm field goals. So now we're 13 to three going to half and Todd Monkin. He's got like the quintessential movie head coach thing. Okay. Where he's nervous. He's furious. I'm the circus. He looks calm and ready. Am I going to scream at these guys? Or am I going to, and then he looks in the mirror and he goes, Todd, you've been waiting your whole life for this. It's almost becomes like eight mile. And then he splashes a little bit of water on himself. Roes up the hoodie and walks into locker room and goes Dishon, sit your ass down. Shedore, you're up, kid. And then and then sure throws up and then it's certain like like Marshall Mathers. He does. He's actually, it's mom's beginning actually. It's actually Dishon who throws up for no reason. He just throws up all over shoes.
But then Jacksonville gets a ball back in the third quarter, special team touchdown. And you think you're something just switch. It's now 20 to three. And you know what happens? Little by little big throw by big throw. Yeah. Shadat by Shadat. Uh huh. Okay. We get one. Is it 2010? Oh, did the defense just get a little fumble Roosky? Did the defense just turn the ball over? That's watching everything. Oh, there's a ball. Yeah. He's a straight and Quincy's like, he's on it. He's like, I also see the ball. We're seeing balls guys. And then Shedore gets a ball about half way up the field, right? Fifty yard line, 49 yard line. Let's call it. I'm a media. Shedat. Now it's 20 to 17. Who does a shedat go to? No, that's that. That's it. I bought that. You know, I've never heard of it. No, this is the one that gets him and Jerry Judy on the same page. Nice. And then you know what Jerry Judy does? Oh, wrist up. Yeah. They'll wrist up to Shedore and just on cries on the side.
And now openly weeping. Yeah. Yeah. Like, I thought that was going to be us. And you actually see the team psychologist talking with him. The sports clinician talking with him. Like it's going to be okay. You still made a lot of money here. And then so it's now 2017. Now we're into the six minutes left stallmate, right? What happens? What happens? Quinshion, Jutkins rattles off an ADR touchdown. And the Browns pull ahead and win and Monday of that week. I am just DX crotch chopping just everyone but you. All right. We never do that to my work boo. But I'll tell you Ken and Anthony about the work boo thing. What? My wife is like work boo. I just did just doesn't say something. And you should be calling me. Why? People have work wives, work husbands. Well, we're, you know, we're booze. We're not booze. All right. I just gave you a cinematic approach.
Jack, did you agree the work boo thing? That's not a good thing. We tried work boo. I can't, I can't. We got to stop that one. We tried it. It works. Oh, see? Oh, come on. Come on. Jack, come on. Come on. You never had a work boo before? For some, no. You loved a boo. I've only worked a sports radio. You know, I've not, I've not ever had a work boo. How much you loved a boo? But I would never have a work boo. But you don't want to be a work boo? No, work boo sounds a little funny. So you have booed a lot. Limitations is what I'm understanding. For friends, it sounds a little funny. Yeah. What kind of funny? Is it ironic funny? Is it, is it quirky humor funny? I mean, Jack, you hear it, right? When he call, I want to do, he is said he is pro work boo. And I'm going to do, call another dude, work boo. I don't think that's, like it's a, in what world is that fine? It's something so much better than if you were calling like, a woman that you work with, your work boo. Yeah, that would be, I'd be an HR. That's where it's problematic. Well, that's, yeah. Yeah, we're a very progressive show here. A progressive station as it were. You're not going to gaslight me into thinking
that work boo is just an acceptable term from one guy to the other. I'm going to start calling Jake. With my work boo. Jake and Jack's are work boo. What's going on in Jack's here? Why, why is Jack's trying to get work boo? It's like, share. Why is it, share? Why is he, something about that share? Why am I battling, I'm battling two versions of you right now. I don't know, I don't know what happened. I'm talking to the devil on the shoulder and the angel on the shoulder. What's going on? They're both devil. They're both devil, yeah. So work boo. I just gave you the, the way, so we get everything we want. And then Monday, the Shookie monster, oh, he's getting a text. Oh, if the brand didn't, he, no, you know, he owes, he owes us a phone call. It's the Browns win. With, with Shadore in a comeback situation. But by the way, didn't I do that a nice way? I didn't have Dishon getting injured. I had him getting benched. Respectable. Wasn't that nicer? I thought the injury would be insulting. I don't want to wish an injury on anybody, whether I'm done tired of watching Dishon player not. So but even in the scenario,
your emotions are still played with for the first half of the game. Play with them. Okay. All right. And that's football. And that's got to feel something, right? That's football. The whole point of football is that, it's a total situation. So then, but the hard part I have within the construct of some of our convos is that you are, you're talking at two things. You, you want, you want, you want Dishon to obviously fail, but then you also want the Browns to showcase awesomeness and all this optimism and be great. And they work in conflict with each other. You have to have this type of scenario that you're dreaming up where he gets benched for Shadore is the only way that you, you have something actually work out. I think some months coming out of the work, Boo. I think that's what that's just proven. Lot of talk talk there. 216, 474. Stop it, Jacks. He is right. He is. He's like a high-end over there. My goodness. I mean, my belly shake is, he found the comedy and you calling me work, Boo, in a way that he's like,
I'm going to play the long game in this one. This is going to be good for you guys. It's not going to be good for us. I think he agrees. Do you want to say, can you guys tweet Nick and just tell him work, Boo? Yeah. Not it. Yeah. Just tell him, he's going to know. Yeah. Hashtag, let him know. Catch your mind, or guys, Jonathan Peterlin doesn't like work, Boo. So if you had anything against Jonathan Peterlin, maybe you should be pro-work, Boo. In this case. Sounds funny, you know. Would that be the ideal situation? What do you, just say it, Jacks? No life here. Okay. All right. Jack just started it. I thought he was choking. I know. And then he started doing this, which I'm like, I was going to get up and do the Heimlich for you. I was ready to save you. You got to be honest. I got a host of show here. I'm worried about you. All right, you're not my work, Boo, but you're work, Boo adjacent. But I, somebody's got a man, the ship.
I designated myself as the person out of the two of us that has to get up and then go save the day. Yeah. Yeah, because you're right. You have to host the show, still. We're not going to let you guys go off the air. Somebody's got to say talking. I'll go save you and then we'll get right back into this now. When we come back, oh, no, is that the dream scenario for week one? And are you actually excited about week one with the Browns and the beauty of my 2026 NFL team tears in five minutes or 92 through the fan?
