John 17 Love Not the World ( Love First Service )

0:00Hi, this is Doug Hewitt Mills. I'm glad you've joined me today. I believe this message will stir up your faith, strengthen you, and inspire you to serve him with zeal. Wherever you are, open your spirit. God is about to speak to you. That you are not one of the people that will ever be lost. Amen. Let your hands say, I will never be one of those who is lost. Amen. What does it mean to be lost? It means when we are looking for you, we can't find you. Do you get it? We can't find you. Where are you? What are you now? We can't see you. We can't find you. We can't reach you. So make sure that you stay close by because many are called, but few are chosen. Between the day that you are called,

1:14and the end of your life, we shall see whether you are one of those who remained in the Lord. Amen. Today I had a deacister pass away. I don't know if it's true. Is it true? You know when I was in school, I had two friends and she was one of them. Yes. But you see, we were in the SU together and she would sing. She used to sing, say, I do, and other nice songs all the time. When I even see her age, it looks like somebody I don't know,

2:18because I knew her as a teenager when we were in the house of the Lord together. So I want you to know that being in the house of the Lord is not about being in the house of the Lord just today, but being in the house of the Lord and never getting lost. No matter what happens. Amen. Lift your hand and say, I plan to never get lost in Jesus name. Amen. How many are going to be one of the lost people? Yeah. Now I want to tell you something. No one day somebody was getting lost and he said, oh, we are all going to be smoking weed with those raster fairy and singers in hell. We'll all be together.

3:34You know, I want you to be careful when you think that, oh, these days we are all being lost because out of the 12, only one got lost. So when you get lost, you must remember that you are in the minority. I just want to say, you are in the minority. If you get lost, you have few. Yes, who get lost? In case you think that we are lost. Like we are half a lost half a not lost. It's not like that too. Yeah, there are people who take this and they say, oh, we are bombed. Like when the exam results come. So we are those of us who bombed. We are plenty. We are we are lost. We all got in. We all got F. But you'll be surprised. You know, since the church began, since the church, our church,

4:51they got 99.9% of all pastes are still pastes. Yes, 99.9% is. Most, they have been orangus. They are very few. Yes, 99.9%. That is it. That's what I just want to warn you because sometimes we are all orangus. You know, one day somebody became an oranguan, started to say, I hear, so and so has also left. I hear this person has also left. I hear this person has also left. That's how they talk. Because if you bombed, you want others to also bombed so that you are a team. A team. A team. A team or not a team. But I want you to know, those who bombed are in the minority. Yes. You get it. Yeah.

5:58Like if you take those who will not go to university, they have few. Now, if you say, somebody will not go to university. Now, a day, a few people hardly will you have somebody like in this church who doesn't go to university. Because even we don't encourage, we don't encourage it. It's like you have to go to university. If you don't go to university, I mean Charlie. Something is not touching. So, don't forget. In case one day, certain wants to add you to a group that are lost. Remember that few are lost. Only one, the son of perdition. He said, all that you gave me are not lost any. One of the things about our church is that when you travel,

7:01do you see, you find their members. Recently, my wife went somewhere. She was telling me and they had a program and they saved beautiful food. Yes. Now, she asked who is the chef. When she told me who was the chef, I was even surprised. An ancient of days, remember. Who I never knew could even cook. Here, become a chef at that place. So, you have to be careful. When you say you are falling, you will decide that to fall. You will be so surprised that you are on your own. People have attacked themselves in a various corners of the church. So, remember, only the son of perdition is lost. The rest,

8:10they are in the system. Solid. And when you look at orangus, 99.9 percent, I don't know whether it's 99.9, but at least 99. All the pastors, they are all in the church, fully solid. So, in case you are thinking, oh, I hear this one. I hear, oh, you got the wrong information. I hear it. There is somebody, only the son of perdition is lost. Hallelujah. So, let's all read the 12 together again. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in their name. Those that are given to me, I have kept. And none of them is lost. But the son of perdition, that description,

9:14all right. Ask you, never, never. I hope you will never be a son of perdition. Yes. All right. Now, verse 13, we continue. And now come I to thee. I am watching. It is a prayer of Jesus. My preaching is very short tonight. So, and now I come to thee. And these days, I speak in the world that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. Verse 16, I have given them thy word. And the world has hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Now, this is the second point out of three points that I'm making today. And this is it. It says, I have given them thy word. I have given them thy word. Now, when you see a man of God, a pastor,

10:26okay, remember, the main thing you get from that person is the weight. That's why Jesus said, I have given them thy word because the main thing that Jesus was giving them was the weight. That's why at the end of his ministry, his prayer was I have given them thy word. That's it. You see, when you see somebody, you may be thinking, what can I get from this person? Or you may even have in your mind, what are the possible things that this person can give to me? And I just want you to know that number one, that a person can give is thy word. You know, I've never seen any of my pastors or bishops becoming anointed who doesn't on his own

11:33take the weight of God by himself. You see, I've preached at many church services and camp meetings. Especially camp meetings. You may sit in the church like this, but when the time comes, when you yourself go to go and get the weight and the weight comes into you. Do you see? Then you start to receive what the person actually had for you. Yeah. So remember that. What am I saying? I am saying that. You may look at me and say, what do you want from me? Oh, I want money. I want clothes. I want food. I want help. I want to sponsor my education. I want to be your friend. All these are nice, but there's one thing

12:36I've given them thy word. Yeah. And I'm saying that the word, everybody is hearing it too. You know, there's a research has been done to say that if you sit in church service and you listen to preaching, how much goes into you and if calculated, I get only 11%. So as I'm preaching now by the time we close, only 11% has entered of what I'm saying. So those of you here are not receiving the weight. You know, I have some pastors who don't even like coming to give that self holy conference or they don't even like coming to the conference because they are going to watch the conference by themselves and soak it in. Do you see? Is it what you spend time

13:38receiving? That's what you are receiving. Almost all of you here have watched pornography before. Raise your hand if you have seen it before. If you don't raise your hand, you'll be accused of being a liar. Yes. Now, listen, some people have watched it so much that it has affected them. Those are the ones that are affected by it. Unfortunately, a lot of young people write from the age of 11, 12, start to watch and they are changed by it. You are truly changed. Yes. And you become a vision of what you would have been because you are sucking it in.

14:43So it's a very dangerous thing. You know, one day I saw a brother, the first thing about the brother was that he's a liar. This is a liar. I remember certain questions that I asked him. His answers were like this. He was a traitor also. That is somebody who betrays the trust that you have in him. Somebody was brought to a place but you can't trust him. He betrayed the trust. Then he became a womanizer. Do you see a womanizer? Then he became a deceiver, deceiving more and more girls.

15:53Yes. Until he became a son of a petition. But when you go into the background, it was from pornography. It started from the age of, I don't know whether 11, 12, 10, I don't know. I'm just trying to explain to you that what you watch regularly and receive. It changes you in the same way if you were to take the web that I am preaching to you seriously and suck it in. As though you were going to preach. You soon see that it's changing you. And I'm saying that of my pastes. I have pointed them and I'm, who am I? I'm just a man. Even God said it repented me that I've

16:55made Saul a king. I regret making Saul a king. If God can regret, how much more human being regret making some people pastes? So when you make somebody a pastor, it's not foolproof by this up to you to prove yourself. You are appointed to class three, not because you know the things that I'm in class three, but because you are now going to learn the things in class three. Is it not true? When you go to lower six or you go to class whatever, it is because you are now going to learn the things in that class, not because you already know them. So many people who become pastes, they are supposed to receive the web. That's what Jesus said. I've given them the web. I've given them the web. So as I'm sharing with you today, amen. I want to encourage

18:02you that I am somebody who has preached a lot, but those who really benefit from me as a pastor, a teacher, an apostle, a prophet, a teacher, an evangelist, are those who have received the web. And those who have received the web are like those who spend time on the pornography, is the same thing at this, spend time on the web watching the videos. Just as some people are watching the pornography. Yes. You see how many of you have got phones, lift your hand, if you've got a phone. Raise your hand. Raise your hand. Raise your hand if you have a phone. How many have realized that it has or kept to you to look on your phone to see pornography? Raise also your hand again. I want to see.

19:08Only four people. Let me tell you something. I want you to know that there are many people. It doesn't okay to them. It doesn't okay because they are not being affected like how you have been affected. It doesn't affect them. You are thinking that everybody that I told you the sense of publishing their view. Everything you think a lot of people are doing, you will be your brand find out. You think that nobody is a virgin. You will be shocked. Everybody was a virgin. Are you listening to me? I have ever said I have given them their web. So now I want to encourage you since on your own. On your own you are able to find pornography.

20:13How could you find it? How? How can you not find camp messages on your own? How could you not find a camp message? That's what I don't understand. How is it that you couldn't stumble on camp messages? I don't understand. So don't forget I have given them their web. Tell you about point number two. It's I have given them their web. Have you received the web? I don't think so. You know why I don't think so. How old are you? 17, 16, 17, 21, 14, 16, 20, 17. By 16 I was a pastor, I was a pastor of pastor of person.

21:18Yes? 16, 16, 16, 18, 16. I was already advancing in ministry and soaking in cannot haggen messages. Nobody told me to ever listen to any message. That's what I'm saying that there will no one told you to watch pornography. It's the same where no one has told you to listen to the message and I'm even telling you to listen to the message. I don't want to you still not listen to it. I tell you the spirit of the message that I am bringing makes you into a minister. Anyone who listens to me for some time you will be interested in ministry.

22:19So I can see that some of you are not even you are not yet looking for anointing. Yes. It means you are not receiving the web that I give. You are not looking for anointing or how to be a servant of God, a man of God. I want to show you but I don't have it here. 23:22believed. So why? I usually see a young person seeking for God when he was 16, 17, 18. But I see some of you are not like that. That's what I'm saying that when I say I've given them that a web. Maybe I gave you money but I didn't give you the web or maybe the money that you received by you didn't receive the web. So ministry and seven God it doesn't start when you are 40. That's the saying that life begins and four ministry begins at 16. You can write it down. ministry begins at 16. So beginning from now you must receive the web and start changing. Start changing.

24:25Amen. Now sit down and I'm giving you the third and the final point. What's the first point I gave you? You've forgotten already. They're 11% this working. What is the first point? None of them is lost. Isn't it? None of them is lost except the son of a don't become the one that is lost. Isn't it? What's the second point? I have given them that web. Start to receive the web from now. Amen. Receive, listen to the web and grow in the web as a young person. 16 you are ready for ministry. Yeah. Amen. You know during the war

25:28right most of the soldiers were teenagers. If after the war England had a problem because the young men in the universities all of them were dead. All the young people were dead from fighting in the war against Hitler. There was a shortage of young boys and men. Oh we're gone. They had to go and fight. When they were going to invade Europe they trained in the whole of England. They trained millions of men. Several million men. They trained across the whole country for one year to go and they went. They died like flies. Yes. Young people can fight. So make sure you receive

26:39the web. We are not here to have fun faith. We are serious about God. Amen. Point number three John chapter 17 verse 12. No, verse 13. Now I come to the and these things I speak in the world that they might have joy, my joyful food in themselves. Now I have given them die weight and the world has hated them because they are not of the world even as I am not of the world. I prenot that thou shouldest take them out of the world but thou should keep them from the evil. They are not of the world even as I am not of the world. Amen. Now to be you must Jesus said that I am not

27:51predileged you should take them out. Let them stay in the world but keep them from the evil in the world. So Jesus is not going to try to take you out. Are you there? Amen. But he says I want to keep them in the world. Don't take them out. Don't take them out but keep them from the evil. So Jesus is not Jesus not pray to the Father. Now that they know you take them out of this world. No, no, no, let them stay in the world but keep them from the evil that is in the world. So now there is evil in this world and the third point is that you must keep yourself from the evil in this world and not be attracted to the world. You don't have to be attracted to the world. Some of you are

28:55so attracted to the world, the fashion of the world. What the world wears? Yes, what the world wears, the fashion that has come. That's what you really want. True or not true? Yes. The cars that the world drives, the money that the world has, the things that are in the world. You don't have to be attracted to it. If the Bible says that the world hits them. Look at the verse. It says, invest 13 and now I come to the and these things I speak in the world that they might have joy. I've given them, I word, the 16 and the world has hated them. So the world

29:57doesn't like you. I come you like the world. I come you like the world so much like you like the fashion, the clothes, the hair, the styles, the things that are going on in the world. You get it. The social media, the things that attract you. You seek girls on their phones scrolling from morning to evening, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling. If you went walking in town on their phone like this scrolling, scrolling, crossing the road and scrolling. Have you seen anybody like that before?

30:57They are attracted to the things that are in the world. 1st John 2 16, 1st John 2 16. 1st John 2 16. Love not the world of verse 15. Love not the world. Neither the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in him. Don't talk the world about the world hates you but you love the world. I really like what they are doing. I like what they have. I like what they are wearing. I want to do that. I want to do that. I want to do that. If they wear baggy jeans, you want to wear baggy jeans.

31:59I want to do that. Let me tell you something. Let me tell you now. All that's on my mind. Listen, don't love the world. Instead of you following the world, let the world follow you. Make your own fashion and let the world follow you. Do you know what are bell bottoms? When we were young, we had bell bottoms. And then the trousers became bigger. Then it became smaller. Then it became like this. Then like that. Everything.

33:00Listen, don't follow the fashion. The world hates you and you love the world so much. What kind of girl are you? Somebody doesn't like you and you are forcing yourself on the person. Ah, it says it doesn't like you. It says the world hates you and you, you love the world. Oh, Charlie. Look, you can never make somebody love you, who doesn't love you. Don't try to be extra nice to somebody. So that the person likes you. Okay, I want to go down to smile. I will do this. And then you end up fighting with another girl over a boy.

34:10Oh, Charlie. Too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad. Too bad. How? How? I am telling you that the world says that they hate you. How come you, they like their fashion, their clothes, their dress, their face, their music. You like their music, their head, their social media, their everything you like the world. Can't you make your own fashion? Can't you make your own fashion? You know, all that is going to happen is that somebody is going to sit down with you and ask you. So are you still a virgin? And they're saying, ah, this day I made you a virgin. You're a virgin in this day I made you. There's nothing like a virgin anymore.

35:10And when you hear, I say, oh, wow, I see. In the world there's nothing like a virgin again. Oh, wow. Then before you realize you are following foolishness. Or somebody will bring you a cigarette. I say, you don't know how to smoke. Ah, this day and age. Or somebody will give you a drink. Shhh, drink, hot drink. And you say, man, you don't know how to do this man. Come and let me show you. And because you are a fool and you love the thing that hates you. The world that hates you, you love it. Yes, love it. Ah? Oh, Luah, you are a fool, Pa. You love a world which hates you. Love not the world, my sister.

36:11Love not the world, my brother. This is the third and important point. Don't try to be like them. In fact, I'm going to show you a key. Should I show you a key? From now, try this and see. When everybody likes this, tell yourself, this one is a red card. Red flag and red card. I don't want this. I don't want to want this. Because everybody likes this. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. This is red flag. Yes. And I can tell you that it is a key that has helped me in my life. I wouldn't say in the microphone what? But maybe after a church, I can tell you that there are many things. That's why everybody likes this. Oh, I don't need it.

37:11I tell myself, I don't need that thing. I don't need it. Everybody wants to be here and I tell myself, I don't need to be there. It has really helped me. It has really helped me. When I went to the medical school interview and they asked me, why do you want to be in this school and a doctor? I had no idea. Because I didn't know, I didn't have those, I didn't have the dreams that everybody had. Yeah. So when we went, when we came to school, I used to see people very serious in the school. I said, hey, does one guy even call him, I change his name to Sirius? I said, my friend, go to Sirius about this school. Huh? Very serious like his whole life is this school. I mean, I was not like that. My whole life is this school.

38:13And by the grace of God, I passed, I can't remember even one time that I filled an exam. I can't, I can't, maybe I did, but I can't remember even once. I said, I mean, the world, there were two Sirius about the medical school. Hey, reading, when we are in the bus, we say that they are reading, two in the station, they can't go to church, they can't do anything, they are very serious. Why? Medical school or suicide, you see that they came to the school, a medical school or Suicide. And when they were in the school, it's like they've given their whole life to the thing. I said, no, I gave my life to do it, but this is not my dream. How are other dreams? In God. In God. Added dream in God. To save God.

39:14Amen. So brothers and sisters, love not the world. When you see that everybody is like this, so, and not only did I pass my exam, but I also won prizes. No, I mean, I mean prizes with money. Yeah, prizes with thousands of pounds telling. The first time I saw thousands of pounds I was a student, that I won from the school. Yes, that's when I saw thousands of pounds. I wanted after I was very serious with God. Oh yes. Look, when you finish school, you're going to meet people. And you know what the people are going to do. The people will be seeking this world. When Jesus will tell you, seek my kingdom first. All these things that people are dying for, I'll give them to you. I'll give them to you.

40:15So when you come out of school, you see that people seeking, okay, Charlie, I'm going to land them. Charlie, I'm going to the States. Okay, Charlie, I'm going here. Okay, I've applied for this. Okay, Charlie, I'll do this. Okay, I'm moving here. I'm doing this. I'm securing this. Look, you know something. My class, almost everybody left Ghana, we're 50 students. I can count. I know only two people who are in Ghana today. And not two or three. A class of 50. We're 50. Yeah, anything those who are here, I think they went. They went and they came back. But I mean, I stayed here. And they were seeking whatever. But no problem. I'm not saying you shouldn't seek it, but I'm saying that. I didn't follow the trend. Can you imagine a class of 50? Everybody would. They were writing exam. ECFMG, this day, that doing interviews on the phone,

41:17going here to Canada, to America, to this, to London, to South Africa. Hey, and yeah, I was, I was only what am I doing? And here I was, I was at that. Went to classroom, to preach, to Ebenezer Secondary School students. Yes. And most of the things that they are seeking, God has given it to me. Anyway, yes. So listen, I want to encourage you, when the whole world is going here, tell yourself, you know something, well, say, well, well, I don't like you as much as you don't like me. Yes. Everybody's got a boyfriend at your age. At your age, you got a boyfriend at your age.

42:22Somebody's got to be crazy. Ask your neighbor, do you have a boyfriend at this age? And you say about everybody has a boyfriend. Everybody has a boyfriend. And you have a boyfriend at this age. How old are you? You have a boyfriend. How can you do well in school if you have a boyfriend or a girlfriend? Yes. But everybody's got one. Everybody's got a girlfriend.

43:23That you send sweet messages to. Yes. Listen, tell your neighbor, say, well, I don't like you as much as you don't like me. Tell your neighbor, well, I'm not going to follow you. I'm following Jesus. Amen. Wow. Everybody may do it, but remember, I don't, I'm not following the world. And I love not the world. And I can stand out. Look, let me tell you, God wants you to stand out and be odd.

44:23Are you ready for that? Are you ready for that? You know, Jews everywhere in every country you can see them. They have a cup, they wear, they have a beard, they have some dressing, a Jew. That's how God intended for us to be as Christians. Everywhere you see us, we do we are the ones. We stand out. Oh, really, you don't smoke. Oh, why? You don't drink. Oh, why? Yes, I go on, uncle of mine. He looked at me, he said, you are boring. Oh. There's something wrong with you. Oh, man. And he said, I'm going to take you to a club. Oh, man. At this school, a nightclub. Oh, man. With my children, my children are also going to go. Oh, man. Are you listening to me? Shhh. So they took me one night. So this nightclub, this school, whatever. I don't know what you call it today.

45:26And we sat there. Listen, don't joke with what I'm saying. As I said, I've given you my word. You don't only feel you get for me, it's the word. And you haven't got in the way. That's why you are not ministry minded. That's the main point I want to say. You are not ministry minded. You have not got what I'm saying. You can make jokes when I'm talking. But if you don't get my word, you are not getting the word. And I'm saying, I sat there as a 16-year-old child. And they spoke about me throughout the whole time. We were there. Why I would not drink? Because in those that you put it, there'd be a big one like this. You sit there. Be it. Everybody's drinking. I said, I don't drink. Up till today, I don't drink. Up till today. Everybody was drinking. You see, later on, this uncle acknowledged me. He said, you are the chosen one in our family. That's what he said. You are the chosen one now, family.

46:27Yes. Yes. So, I want to advise you. So everybody's doing it. This thing, I'm not doing it. Everybody's masturbating. Yes. Everybody's masturbating. You get it. You learn not to do it. Yes. Do not love somebody that doesn't love you. And tell you that the world hates you. So stop loving it. Yes. It doesn't even want you. And the sense of tradition, they have few. Yeah.

47:30Are you listening to me? Yes. Yeah. So what is point number one today? Huh? Yes. Yes. Right, I will not be one of the lost. I cannot be. Amen. Number two. I've given them a, so you have to write. Have I received the word? I have not received the word. Have you received the word from Daki, what males? No. If you have received the word, you will be a different person. Yes. Yes. People that have received, you know, one day there was a lady. She told her friend, I don't want bishop to be close to my husband. Because if he's close to my husband, my husband will say that he wants to be in the ministry. And my husband is a top businessman. I don't want him to live his business because we will be poor.

48:31So I don't want my husband to be close to him. Because it's true, if you come close to me and you start to hear me, you say, yes, you become. Are you head of the point manno? The point manno, it's many of you have no head of it. But you know, you know how to find big blackmama.com. But you don't know, you don't know point manno. You don't know point manno. Yes. You know how to find Chinese and Asian pornography. But you don't know how, you don't know point manno. Anyway, one day a brother point manno is a camp. Is that a camp? Makana, you know, Makana. Makana is a camp. When he was doing architecture in tech,

49:31he had the Makana and started to listen to it. Suddenly he put it down. He said, I will not listen to this. He said, if I listen to this, I will not be an architect. I will become a pastor. So he said, I have the meat you were sitting outside there. He said, I will not listen to that thing. I can't listen. If I listen to it, my life will change. I know I have a little and I have seen the effect. He said, that's why I said, I have given him my wet. If you actually end up listening to the wet, you will change so much. Now, do you know that I know people who listen to messages and I know people who read books and you people do none of these two? Like I know the difference between those who listen and then those who watch videos and then those who read books. I can tell the difference and those who don't do any of these.

50:34Yes. Like amongst the pastors, I can see those who have received videos. I can see those who receive audio. I can see those who receive read books. I had a journalist saying there's a difference between somebody who reads and somebody who listens. And he gave the difference. He gave the difference and I said it's true. And most of the pastors, I can see the difference. So point number two is I have given them the wet. The main thing Jesus came to give is the wet. Amen. And number three, love not the world. You must not love the world that hates you. You are a mobile. How do you love somebody who that from today? In case I don't know whether you came to I girl, never follow a boy.

51:36Who says I'm following him to try to smile on Tuesday to see if he would change his mind. You. You be calling, calling, texting, calling. You send a message. Hello. Hello. Hello. Are you there? Are you there? Don't love the world that hates you. You love that world. You like everything the world is doing. And the world doesn't want you. It's a shame. How many agree with me that it's a shame? It's a shame. How many have fallen to it before? You realize that you love the world which doesn't love you.

52:36Stand to your feet. All right. Father, we give you thanks for your blessing today in the mighty name of Jesus. Lift your hands, everyone. And thank God for the word. Today, God is challenging you. It's challenging you. It's challenging you. To God be the glory. Love of the world. Neither the things that are in the world. Father, we give you thanks and praise forevermore. In Jesus' mighty name we pray. Let us follow you and save you, Jesus' name. As every head is bound every eye close, if you are here, you want to give your life to Jesus. Maybe somebody invited you, but you want to give your life to Jesus Christ.
