We're the lunatic fringe that defines our coach's legacy when it comes to this game. They don't get to define that outside the family. Dude, we're cut from a different cloth. Bro, hi, Owens. He's got it all, man. He's even got the jaw. You know the jaw. You see that jaw and you're just like, yeah, man. That's a dude. Dude, I want Michigan to beat Oklahoma. No way in hell. I don't know what world I'm living in. This is insane to me. I'm not. As I was sitting down getting ready to film today's show, I was texting with my buddy Chris Drew from Dead Air Sports, Menace to Sports. And he told me that he was sitting in his desk. I was sitting at mine. We figured, why don't we have a chat ourselves

3:04before we each go do our shows. I'll have a couple of shows today. This will be the first. Here's me and my buddy Chris. A couple of Akron Boys back in the house again. Hope you enjoy. And welcome to Juck Unbuck's. Appreciate you so much for joining me as the Boys are back in town again. The Akron crew. Chris Drew in the house. What's up brother? Dude, not much really cool improv to show. Obviously we both talk all trip all every day. And it's nice when we whenever we're able to like cross paths and get on a microphone together. I've had a lot of people say to me, did you and Chris fall out? No, man. The deal is we're great pals. We're just really bad at planning things together. We kind of both need to be prodded to get things done. When it comes to just not we're used to doing things by ourselves. Right. We're just getting things done. But communicating and linking up difficult for us. So I texted him a stream yard link and said, man, will you just hop in here sometime? You said I'm at the computer. Here we are.

4:04We've got no notes. And in prompt to college football show or here we go. Chris, let's start with the buck guys as they come out. Play a cream puff. And you can go buy them all. But that's a piece of paper. Because I've definitely stand out. Obviously the young talent stands out. You've got legend bay. The sensational run that he had. Well, I mean, there was a couple but the one where he floated to the right was just like yeah, that dude's different as hell. You got curry wilder coming out in game number one, looking like a total monster. And you got Texas coming up. Ryan Day asked about playing these young guys down there. against Texas for the potential payoff of the big time plays. I think you do because how different you look. I mean, I don't know how would you talk about Kerry Wilder, but he looks like someone who's been in mixed right to the Michigan program for the last two years. But he looks enormous and the way that he is, like Zach calls it, Bobblehead. Like he's hitting offensive guards and offensive tackles and their heads are Bobbleheading back.

5:04And who to me needs to play at least 10 to 15 snaps. If not more against Texas because that's someone who's got huge upside and going to wreck a game plan or wreck a play or two. And against Texas, every play is going to matter. So I'm playing him. I'm playing legend Bay this year as much as possible because this will be the only year that you get the overlap of oh my gosh, I have legend Bay and Jeremiah Smith. I don't like to see them on the field together. And I think that's obviously like your best like yard after catch option. I mean, like for him and I've said this a couple times for him, starting the second jump cut before both feet landed from the first jump cut was one of the more absurdly athletic things. I've seen anybody do it Ohio State. Like I love JK Dobbins. The JK Dobbins jump cut was aggressive and he covered a lot of ground with it. But he wasn't double jump cutting. Now the legend Bay doesn't get as much, I guess lateral movement on his jump cut. But to be able to double up before your second foot hits the ground is absolutely ridiculous. And like the zero to 60 back to zero back up to 60.

6:07I think that will play no matter what. And Jeremiah Smith saying like, hey, look, like he's going to win a high. He's going to be in New York at some point. You got to think about like what are those practices look like? What is he doing to get to practice to make Jeremiah Smith someone who really doesn't come in a ton of people say that. So I think you need the youth movement. I think you're going to need some big plays on offense and on defense to kind of take care of Texas. Like give yourself a bailout when we play Texas the first time two years ago. What was what was the big momentum swing? You're the Travian Henderson huge play at the bright for the half. And then this this last time we played him. What was it? It was the huge play the car now tape. You're going to need like your your I call it the the college football three point ball. You're going to need your three point ball at Texas to give yourself some breathing room. And guess what when you have breathing room and when Texas has to throw, that's when you put care water out there in the Russian package. Go go bring me archmannings head. Bring me archmannings head. I love it. Now. Hey man, I love carry. Carry's jersey's on my wall behind me.

7:07Oh, yeah. Yeah. I've just been so infatuated with this kid for a year and a half now. I mean, I think he is a total dog. Matter of fact, I don't know that we've seen a five star come into Ohio State, which he did finish a five star with so little hype. I'm good. No hype at all. No hype at all. And then I was going to ask you why you thought that was. My theory is it's because we've seen some five star defense events come to Ohio State and like not perform like, go to first round standard and some people may be cool on it. Or maybe it's because he was a late rise or I was curious what you thought. Yeah. It's a couple of things. Number one, he was a top 300 when they offered him just barely. And he committed really quick after that. So there was no build up to it throughout his recruitment. But then there was that five star camp in Indianapolis where he and Sam Greer dominated. And we were the top two there. And at that point, it was like, alright, man, this dude's the real deal. He was tearing guys up and then just talking to him the attitude. Sam's got it too. They're just killers, man. All they care about is being great at football.

8:08I'm like, that dude's going to hit like that's a hit. And when you talk about what we got coming in here next year, Chris, we've talked about this for so many years, the edge position, all the misses. You're looking at potentially three five stars coming in because I do think that along with DJ Jacobs and Marcus Becca to the next year that why it's Smith is going to finish a five star four five star edges in two years. Other insanity from all the misses we've talked about over the years, the near misses, looking at these guys at other schools being salty about it. It's just such a turnaround so quickly. It is. It's a turnaround. And I think that like, I mean, I don't know when L.D.'s going to retire. I've even stopped theorizing about it because he just keeps bringing guys in. I think that mapatrisher being here is going to kind of entice other defensive ends as well because they know that they're going to get enough one on one to kind of be successful. And I think this year kind of playing wilder is important. I think this year, the canyada leap is really important. So it does look like, you know, the tank is full right now in terms of like getting,

9:11you know, five star, you know, defensive ends. And I know that it's always been something that's really important. I mean, obviously like, like my auntie had its fair share of flaws a year ago, but whether or so great out of year ago was like defensive end and they can kind of wreck games. And my belief is, is the more you scale up and group of competition, you're going to need more NFL past rushers because you're likely going to face teams with true NFL passing schemes or quarterbacks who are going to need to be sped up a good amount. So I'm stopping the run. I think it's important for a for a floor razor, but the ultimate ceiling razor to go with a national title, I think is going to end up being like, how many, you know, first or second round edges can you load up on one team? When you look back back to 2006, when things turned to the SEC, the Florida Ohio State National Championship game from then on, you can look at every single national championship team. And to me, the one thing that you can say, all of them have in common is a nasty defensive line. And I think it is the number one thing you need to win a national championship.

10:12You've got to be nasty there. And it has irritated me, the lack of investment on the defensive line over the past few years in favor of, you know, somewhat glamor positions, you know, like wide receiver, which is great, having great wide receivers. But I need the big nasties on the defensive line. I need the quick edge russure, got to have it and it's happening now. But back to offense in the offensive line, big discussion in the off scene of season, of course, which way are they going to go on the offensive line? And my opinion was to our point about rushing the passer. You got two tackles that are the clear two best in my opinion going into the season and Ian Moore and Austin, Sarah Bell. Phil Daniels, not that guy. Now they chose to go to start the game game one with the best interior three, which is great. Right? And they said you love to have the beef with Austin, Sarah Bell, Luke Montgomery, Carson Hensman and that, you know, seemingly great for the run game. But you make yourself a little susceptible with Phil Daniels and Ian Moore in his first

11:12year, and I think it's going to be great, but he's not great yet. And Phil, we know who Phil is. He's going to make some errors comes out. It has a really rough game. Two, two possessions. He's out of the game, Ryan Day, you know, made it sound like potentially that was in the plans to change anyway. I don't really know if that's true. But what do you think about the performance, the decision to play them in that lineup? And then this week, what are they going to do here? Are they going to run out the same lineup? Or are we going to see the switch with Austin at tackle and gave Ben Sickle at right card? You know, I, I don't know. I thought Ryan Dayg very clearly has a short leash on Phil Daniels. Yeah. I do think worst case scenario against Texas is making that swap in the middle of the game to me. That means that like your plan A failed so miserably, but you had to go to plan B. They went through an entire camp and they determined that Phil Daniels being outside and in more being outside gives them the best chance to win.

12:12So for me, I had the most confidence with that. And if that doesn't work, then I'm feeling a little bit shaky. Now, I do know that the safety valve is, you know, kicking Austin back outside. I do know that Arthur Smith for a lot of his runs, keen stuff wants to have a really clean, really dominant inside. And also, you know, Julian saying gets compared to who a lot, you know, the Drew breeze comp. And I never forget Sean Payne talking about it. Like we, we with the Saints invest our money to the interior of our offensive line because if our tackles are getting beat on the outside, we want Drew breeze. There's a smaller quarterback to have someone to step up to no matter what. So we're always going to invest more money in our interior than our outside. And I'm wondering if that's kind of a similar approach to their taking with Julian San, which is why they went with those three initially. But Phil looks really bad, dude. Phil looked really bad. And I'm like holding out hope that it's not like this forever because Philip looked really good a year ago against Texas. I mean, kind of had Collins Simmons boxed up and kind of we heard about it.

13:14And for Philip, we know he's a plus athlete. We know he's really strong. We know he's really mean. It's just some of the folk work stuff leads to some whiffs. And it's like, look, Phil, I just need hands on Collins Simmons more than more than misses. And if that's the case, I do think that Art for Smith will have enough scheme wise to kind of work around some of his deficiencies. But I'm definitely concerned level. I mean, I don't believe that it was part of the plan to take him out and rotate in. I mean, there were drives. I think, I mean, look, Jack first, first play of the season and you run the wrong way on stretch. It's rough, man. It was rough to watch, bro. Yes. So like, it's the first play of the year. Like just get things right on play one, right? Even Michigan look good on play one. Just look right on play one. Yeah. Yeah. And we will get to them. But to the running game, obviously, the big talk in the off season was, I thought a lot of Bo Jackson slander, man.

14:16I for the tone in the tenor of the conversation around Bo Jackson by the middle of the season last year, um, to what we were hearing in the off season about Bo. It just felt like a total flip on him. The guy comes in, does a great job as a freshman and got something to work on, right? He's got to get to that second level and be able to bust the next tackle. He's got to be able to turn that ten yard run of which he was top three in the country and make those 20 and 25 yard runs something that needs to work on. But it felt like the tone was like this guy's average. He's, you know, he's fine. He's whatever. Um, I think he's better than that, Chris. And Ryan, they said they worked on all off season. And he saw it on film, saw it on the practice field that he was getting better at it. We saw him bust the big one against ball state. Do you think it translates as we get into better competition? Or do you think he just is who he is? And that's a skill you either got or you don't know. I bet he's apps. It's absolutely the translate. Chuck, I mean, you and I know we're both asked with the high school, not a place with a great

15:17training mission program, not a place that's kind of, you know, revered as one of the top high school programs in Ohio, a point blank period. Last year, it was, he was not supposed to play. We can, we can call spade a spade. He was not supposed to be the guy last year. There's supposed to be people in Donaldson. He was supposed to have a year to kind of like, you know, be in mixed program and then show off as a sophomore because those other two did, I mean, see, Donaldson had zero burst whatsoever. So I thought it was wild. The people would even say that about both Jackson's burst, given who we're playing next to. And yeah, he's no traving Henderson. Like, like, you and I will never say that. But Cedar Donaldson and Jinkseeples were so ineffective that they went to the freshman who really wasn't quite ready physically, but had the best feel for the running back position had the best feel for let me get that, that 10 yards, let me get that six yards when my offensive line is wrong. And I'm kind of catching bullets along the way. Still went over a thousand yards as a true freshman. And I think where people sour, Chuck was less about his play on the field, but more because for some reason, irresponsibly,

16:23people covered his negotiations at the end of the year. So irresponsibly. And when numbers were floated out, that I had to go check with certain camps or these the numbers and know these are not the numbers we're asking for, or they were being asked for. I think people viewed it as like, you want this much money and you're not that good. You can't break a long one. And so that's where the narrative started, not because of during not during the season last year, but more because of his negotiations got really public in the media. And now he's back and it's like, we had a whole year and it's like, but not. If you're like me, you have a lot of things on your mind, work things, family things, what's for dinner things. 19:28DSW, let us surprise you. I burst into the burst. I know the burst. Okay. Like we all we all like to say that Mickey Maraudi is the best in the country. We all like to prop up guys 40 times when they get here versus when they leave here. What would make it any different for Bo Jackson, who really out of every true freshman that I've seen Plato, Ohio State in the last 10 years had the least amount of high level strength of conditioning when he got to the what he got to the program. That's a fact. And it's also a fact that the narrative changed with that Bo wants a million dollars. Yes. Bo Jackson came in as a top 10 back in the country, made $150,000 as freshman year. Could have gotten a lot more from Georgia. Couldn't have got a lot more from Bama. Didn't do that in state at home. Took a dose of it. Can I defend the million dollar thing real quick? Yeah. That's saying that that's the exact number. Right. Here we go. Don't you think that his first year was worth more than $150,000? Is that what I want to argue that like with the way the market's going?

20:30I wouldn't have been mad if his first year was worth 300,000 and the second year was worth 800,000. I wouldn't have cared. I'm totally with you. Like you clearly got underpaid. You way overperformed your contract in your number one. All right. Hey, the man. You know what I'm like, like pay him for what he did that year and then pay him for what you expect to be the next year. Like to me, there's, there's nothing wrong with that. Especially as a Georgia tech fan knowing what justice Haynes got paid, given his injury, given his injury history. Like I know, I know the dollar amount that justice Haynes got for one year at Georgia tech. Yeah. That man has made some money in college football, buddy. Are you kidding me? Pocketing, pocketing, he's clearing three M's this final year. Oh, we, baby. Georgia tech has invested some cash the last couple of years. But only in only like in one position, they'll just like let the rest of the roster be horrible. Well, they, they put some money on some, some young offensive lineman coming in.

21:31The one with the 260 pound tackle that Josh Petty that Ohio State was recruiting. They ended up sweeping him up for a cool million, which is way out of what his price range should have been. Especially at the time, like they did that for the market got weird, but I don't know if you know this, just, but like 10% of Georgia tech graduates are millionaires. And so it's like they have the highest, you know, group of millionaires, maybe outside of Stanford in the country. In terms of like P4, but they don't structurally have it together. And also like, you don't want to talk about, I'll burn a man does a, had zero rushing attempts against Colorado. But anyway, get back to it. Look, it's an amazing school. Ton of wealthy donors in Atlanta. Like it's one of those ones that you're like, okay, you could see it happening. Yeah, any day now, like we're just any day now. Yeah. Jeremiah, every year at Ohio State has looked a little better and he looks a little better this year. But more than even him looking better, I think Julian looks better in their connection.

22:32Looks ridiculously elite as they go into this Texas game. The only program that is kind of contained Jeremiah in big games and they've done it twice. This week, I don't know that Ohio State can allow that to happen. I think Devin McEwen is really a solid number two. I think he looks really good. But to win this game with all this pressure on Texas at Texas, Jeremiah's got to be Jeremiah. I don't think he can be a decoy. I think he's got to make plays. I think he's gonna, I think their connection is ridiculous, Chris. I mean, even greater than that, but guess Texas has slowed down Jeremiah last. Sometimes they played them. They fired the man who came up with that plan. Yeah. Pete Guterkowski last year, even though their defense has been in their offense, they got, he got fired. Again, their defense is better than their offense and the only DC in America that would contain Jeremiah's. But it got fired and they brought in muskamp from the tree of Kirby, Dan Laning, like, like kind of that defensive scheme. And we've seen Ryan Day play that style of defense before.

23:35The defense where, look, my corners are just better than your, than your white receivers. I'm way more comfortable in man than I am in zone. Like that, that's what they've been doing. And when Ryan Day sees that, he feasts on that generally speaking. I mean, going back to, you know, Chris O'Law, Bayverse, Don Brown, going back to, you know, Ryan Dayverse must champion Schuman the first time when they, when they scored 40. Unfortunately, we couldn't stop a nosebleed that game. But I mean, even going back to, when we played Dan Laning, both times we played Oregon, it's been absolutely shootouts. Well, one's been a shootout by one school, but other one was a shootout by both schools. So I'm looking at this and I'm, you know, I think Ohio State has a pretty significant advantage over Texas when it comes to coordinators, because I think NFL coordinators, Trump called coordinators and I have like a long sheet of like games that kind of explain that and kind of show that proof. And I think art Smith and Ryan Dayverse must champ is a hydrogen bomb versus a coughing baby. So that's where I think this thing is going to get absolutely stretched out.

24:37I'm with you, dude. I think it's going to be a high scoring game. Number one, I don't know what you're taking on arch, you know, coming better, getting better at the end of the season last year. Now you're four in the program. Like I feel like the amount of pressure on Sark and arch in this game is just enormous. And if they don't start off good and if they get in a hole again, like this stress that is going to tighten around those guys, honestly, my prediction here is the buck ice win by a touchdown. Though I do think it'll probably come down to the wire. I just feel like they're going to win this game. Me and Sam, me and Sam did this yesterday, Jack, and I was like, and there's like the little devil on this shoulder that's like Chris did. Oh, hi, this is going to win by a bunch. Like Sark's been nervous energy all off season. Sark, here we go. As an Ohio State fan, you and I lived through plenty of games where Ryan Day coaches very, very tight. Right. And it goes, please, very, very tight. We've seen this. Sark tightens up times 10 and he's tightened up before the pressures of this year.

25:43Every single big game that Sark has had in his career as a head coach, as a head coach at Texas, he has coached a game incredibly, incredibly tight and lean on Pete Kudekowski. Doc, if you want to coach tight against us in this game, awesome, because I think we're going to be able to score because we have the NFL brain trust on the other side of it. So I think Sark's under an unbelievable amount of pressure every time a camera and a microphone is put in front of his face, he reminds us and how much pressure he's under by having either an excuse, letting us know how anxious he is or saying we shouldn't go through these games and we want to make the playoffs. Like Sark feels like a nervous ball of energy. And I don't know how Texas fans can feel confident when their head coach gets on the microphone. It sounds less confident than he did the time before. Like it's like a rolling ball and I caught him it's a couple times. It feels like James Franklin with the widow speak, Doc. Like, look, like I think all in all your, you're a good coach. But when it comes to these pedigree games, we are different than you. We just are.

If you heard Ryan Day after a loss the previous year in a match up game, say that we were tired, exhausted.

27:51Yeah. Like I, I think I know what meltdown, the I always say this. Ryan Day doesn't get to say the stupid stuff that's sark gets to say that's exactly right. The Dan landing gets to say the stupid stuff that all these other coaches get to say. Ryan Day doesn't get to say because soon as Ryan Day says it, born on third, NEPO baby, of course, this is a stand soft excuses. He doesn't get to say any of this. Sark gets to complain about stuff all the time in the only people that say anything or Ohio state fans. The rest of the country just kind of lets him slide. Sark, like Ryan Day does not get to say a quarter of the stuff that Sark gets to say true or not. It's just who Ohio state is, man, and that's the thing. Nobody's like Ohio state because look, we would have come on the air and killed Ryan Day for that comment. Bingo. It were, were fans of Ryan Day. We think is a very good coach. We would have crushed him if he made that comment, that soft comment.

28:52And for Sark, it's this little blurb. The only ones even circulating at Real House Day fans, I could not believe that a head coach said that. Couldn't believe it. You don't admit that. Even if you feel that, you don't admit that. That's the thing. I did a whole show on it. And it's like, yo, like these things can be true, but to sit next to your players who you're supposed to never tolerate and excuse like that. Right. To sit there and to pedal that forward from a game years ago. Yeah. To me is screaming of, I've never accepted why we lost these games than the other side of it is dog. Like, okay, you're tired. So is the other team. You're not playing a team that only played. I honestly would almost understand it more. It was like the COVID year. One of the highest they played eight and that C teams played 12. Okay. Like I think it's corny. Think it's lame. We beat you. But I hear you. I guess. But to do it when I don't know, everybody just played a regular season.

29:53You're not special. You're not different. At that point, what was that? That was game number 14. 13 14. Yeah. Okay. So even in the old system, Chris, you had to win 15 games to win a national championship. You played in the conference championship. It wasn't even any longer at that point. It was the same. It's the same. And also you had a break. It's you get a vacation in there. Insane, dude. The guy is by the way, he's lost weight. He, this wasn't a chubby guy. But his face looks gaunt. I watch his press conference the other day. Sucked in. This dude's got the weight of the world. He's got everything handed to him. This is his team, bro. They went all in. They've got guys maturing at the right time. When Ohio State wins this game, it is going to be a pandemonium in Texas with the schedule. They've got coming up on the flip side. Should Ohio State lose this game? How you feeling with USC with Oregon with Indiana, with the rivalry game still on the schedule?

30:55Do you feel like it's no big deal? To me, that USC game, Chris, becomes so huge because if you lose that before Indiana and Oregon with two losses, now we're talking stress, buddy. You know, in the word that's in the show, man, losing to Texas and losing to USC, I've not even entered my consciousness. They haven't even entered my consciousness. So I don't even, I don't even know how to answer that question thoughtfully. The ones that I have thought about, okay, we could lose our Oregon and Indiana in large part because those are the top two defensive lines in America. One by disruption, one by just by physical sheer force. And the boys you stay game is not going to throw up my month and month of research on this. But again, losing to USC has not entered my consciousness for that game. I intend on dressing up. I'm going to be fro zone from the Incredibles. I'm going to live stream for my basement and I'm going to drink a lot while I watch us bludgeon USC. Now, the Texas game, if you do lose that game, that just sets you up in a little bit of tricky spot because I think there's going to be two, nine and three teams that make the playoffs this year.

31:56But it's going to be like by the skin of their teeth and you don't want to kind of be being into that world. So, you know, in the off season, and I was at, I've always been a pretty big fan of Kyle winning him. When Michigan lucked in to Kyle, winning him, I felt like man, they could get, you know, five good years out of him. And with Bryce Underwood, we know the situation he was in last year, no quarterback coach. I mean, total chaos, but obviously a big time talent. Now comes in, winning him. Now he's got back, got a quarterback coach and listen into those guys at big 10 media days and the confidence that Underwood exuded. I expected this team to number one have a really good running game with Jordan Marshall and Sabian, Heiter and Bryce involved in the running game and definitely expected to see some improvement from him. And we obviously see them came out come out in game one and excluding the controversy.

32:56Like that was terrible. I mean, just terrible. Winning him says after the game, we got a lot to work on and I'm sitting here thinking, dude, is this guy lost it as he lost it? Because that was embarrassing with a full off season, that performance. Bryce looks no better at all. I mean, it was just terrible and they couldn't even get the running game going against a Mac team. This is a team I thought could potentially be one of those teams that made the playoffs at 9 and 3 come in to the game with two losses potentially take their third and with a really tough schedule, make the playoffs. This looks like a six seven win team. We got to start treating coaches like athletes, man. Like nobody like in year 19 of Shaq was like, oh, yeah, that's one of the best players in the NBA. It's like no dog. He's playing for Boston average and nine points game is the farewell to it, right? Like when people talk about who are the best coaches in America, let's talk about who the best coaches are now. Like forget like a 20 year history because again, we don't do that in sports. Like if someone if someone asked you, who's the best quarterback in the NFL right now, you're not going to say Aaron Rogers because he's been good for the last 20 years.

34:01Now you're going to bring up who's the best now and it's become very, very clear that that winning him is, you know, Celtic Shaq. This looks worse than that. Like this looks worse than that, dude. Underwood looks like he's absolutely, absolutely, absolutely regressed. Their offensive game plan. Wow, I think it does fall in the shoulders of Bryce under what the fact that Bryce underwood doesn't want to run the ball at all and some of those zone reads late in the game. 37:06I don't know how you feel about this. A team that didn't even play that well to me and didn't have a great game plan is embarrassing for the big 10 and embarrassing for Michigan. Western Michigan did not score a touchdown in that game. And it took a hell marry for Michigan to win. Think about that sentence dog. They didn't score a touchdown and winning hand comes out. And he looked shocked that their offense couldn't do anything. And the moment that he looked shocked to me tells me they wasted their entire fall. They was the entire fall because if you're shocked that your offense couldn't do anything. That tells me that when you start playing real defenses or excuse me, real offenses, your defense is going to like swish cheese because you're to be shocked that your offense is moving against Western Michigan to meet. That tells me that during spring and during fall, you're watching your offense move against your defense. For sure. So wait, do you see one of these real offenses?

38:08Yeah. Western Michigan was, you know, Michigan has to play Iowa this year. Iowa is like, is that replica of that Western Michigan team times like 10 in the way that they play. And they throw the ball better and they run the ball better and more multiple dog. And again, winning him seems shocked that Western Michigan stopped his offense dog. Everybody's going to stop that offense. I'm not going to lie. And this doesn't even feel like a hot take to what's today today's Wednesday, December night. I don't think Iowa needs a score on offense to beat Michigan. Very possible, bro. Guess what? Guess what, Jack? That Iowa DB is not running out of bounds for no reason on the pick six. There we go. Brightes under with last year Michigan fans were furious with Shuron Moore thinking that they were holding him back from running the ball. And then to your point towards the end of the game, he doesn't look interested in it, man. He looks like he wants to be a pocket passer and he is not that, bro.

39:11He's not that at all. And that is the mistake I made. I thought he was going to want to be actively involved in this rushing attack. And that with those two backs and a pretty good offensive line, we would see an offense that looked pretty good. Boy, I feel so wrong about that. Couldn't be more happy about it. But what do you think about the controversy? Where do you weigh in on that? I think there's a. I think under what's horrible. I think last year I took a lot of flack for saying he's horrible and I got the constant. He's 18. He's 19. What freshman is born? And then I give off a list of freshmen that are born and I was told under was going to be better than all of them. Well, guess what? There's a group of true sophomores out there that are absolutely lighting the world on fire. And there's one true sophomore in particular that's a legacy kid that wanted to go to Michigan. They couldn't get a call back because a certain university was interested and recruiting only under what even under would disdew on national television multiple times and was committed to LSU and criticized you for not developing quarterbacks.

40:12Here we go, dude. Like Bryce under was not being developed. Guess what? He told us unfortunate. He told us that. He did. So I don't I don't feel bad for under would he stinks. I don't feel bad for Michigan. You got fleeced and when it comes to legalized bank robbery, he's the very best. He's the very best. And guess what guys? The only reason he didn't leave a year ago is because his market value was so tanked that nobody could pay him more than what Michigan had him already on the docket for. He's bad. This is going to be bad. The unfortunate thing is Tommy Carr. It you can't send him out there. Like you would also be ruining him too. So it's like, do you want to compound it and ruin two young quarterbacks or you just want to have this kid wear one and then we'll reevaluate me off season and bring on bring home damp here. Dude, if he doesn't get substantially better quickly, like Chris the soke home again Oklahoma is only a five and a half point favorite. Like that seems insane to me. I mean, I'm sure money's coming in and just heaps on Oklahoma.

41:13But I just that line makes no sense to me whatsoever. And so much so that it makes me feel like maybe Michigan is the play man because it just makes no sense. And you know, you know how it goes when it's like that. Yeah, it feels like a trap to you and I talk about a little bit before the show, but it's like, oh my gosh, like five and a half like I would I would bet Oklahoma up to 10. Yeah, the way underwood looked and what I know about Brian Venables. So because I feel so strongly that Oklahoma is going to blow them out. I'm not betting on it. I'm sorry. I just can't do it. I can't do it because like what wise Vegas taunting me. Yeah, it just doesn't feel right. Something feels way off. So as we look around college football LSU, obviously with the most impressive game of week one, destroying dabbo in my gosh, man. I mean, we've talked about this for years now, but it is officially cooked. It's cooked in Clemson and I know you, you know, kind of in the time frame, you grew up the hatred you have for Clemson is just sky high. So I'm sure that makes you very, very happy.

42:15It was greater than my Michigan hate. I know it. Yeah, I remember. Yeah, we talked. We talked about this one of our early shows. I like to like go like for me, the Michigan game was a rivalry game. It was more of a celebration. Yes, that was the time at the end of the year around Thanksgiving. Where my mom's birthday, my whole family would have we would all be together watching Ohio State be Michigan. To me, it was always guaranteed. It was always promised my first time watching Ohio State mission games 2006 and Mike like Troy Smith. You you're from around the area. Troy Smith and Ted again were super heroes to little like eight year old Chris. Yeah, I was like, oh my god. These two, I thought he would never lose. In fact, losing to Florida did more emotional damage than each of my last three heart breaks combined because that was the first time somebody invincible went down. Yeah, but for me, Clemson, for a couple of reasons, I'm also a Georgia Tech fan. So I was in tune with Davos rise and we would beat them every year at Georgia Tech and then Davos started winning.

43:15We couldn't beat them. And then I blame them for Braxton Miller not being a Michael Bigger generation. I blame that injury. And then when we played them again and the blowout and their defensive line was doing suspect stuff to like Curtis Samuel. And and then you know the game that I feel like we were cheated out of in 2019. Like for me, I grew up hating Clemson because we couldn't beat them because I didn't think they won ethically because I thought their university was racist. I still think that. So I hate Clemson with a burning passion. And so when your demise is televised, guess what? Look, I, I'm having a great time. I was having a great time. I didn't, I didn't watch it because I did want you to be America's team to go beat LSU because I can't stand LSU in the moment. That's a long time hatred. And also like when I first said that like I think you guys are on the down decline. That's what I got my first group of hate messages. My the first fan base that hate message me on Twitter. Especially Clemson fans, not Michigan fans. Really? And so now watching you decline like this is incredible.

44:17I mean, heck, you guys, this is karma. Like you guys promoted a coach that said the end word to a player to assist it to the head coach. Like this is karma. Like at some point it was going to come back around and and and they're horrible. And I'm expecting. I mean, honestly, dude, like if they if they had the same season or close to season that Florida stayed had a couple years ago, I'd be like, all right. You all got to come in. In fact, I think when they play Clemson plays Florida state. I think what October 9. That might be the loser gets fired on the field. Do you think they're ready to can him? I don't know. That's wishful thinking. I know the fan base is there. Yeah. Like they're there. Tyler from Spartans bro. I hope so. But I don't think they will. But I think they should. I'm with you. There's no way this turns around under him. But on the other side of things, Lane Kiffin his his built quite a monster and also successfully finally his big mouth has gotten him.

45:18In some serious trouble. How was the SEC commissioners meeting to talk about kicking out of the SEC, which is insane to say. Obviously isn't happening, but they're swinging it. They're swinging it big right now, trying to put their foot down at the lack of institutional control and kind of lane run wild man. And this guy in such a short time from when he left old miss to now has finally the big mouth, the antics talking the players into the lawsuit. Then signing the players and publicly saying, you know, I mean, hey, if somebody was going to recruit these guys when he orchestrated the whole damn thing, then calling out the SEC and saying they can't just pick and choose what laws they're going to follow. He is actually finally spurred on, I think the first shot across the bow of conferences taking control of the rules. So I'm thankful for his big dumb mouth for all of that because this is the only way they're going to range it in.

46:19Bingo and it's funny because the SEC decided know what we can't control Lane Kiffin. What we can do is hey, look, basically this is a situation where. SEC can't rain in Lane Kiffin and the SEC is letting him run wild so it's all right, like i'm not going to aim at Lane Kiffin anymore i'm going to aim at you. It's an aimed at Lane and I threatened suspension and guess what he kept pushing ahead so now i'm aiming at ls u ls u get your coach under control or it's going to be bad for you. And if you are willing to die on the hill for Lane Kiffin for this coach who will likely get fired from a program in scandal in five to seven years. Go die go and so the I mean that it was a good shot and it's it's so funny because. I wonder if Lane Kiffin is going to call the bluff because it comes at a time where I don't know if since. 2019 this level of excitement around around what ls u could be this year. The fact that they look so good and all this is happening at the same time what a story for college football going on at the same time with the Michigan western Michigan thing.

47:26I mean for a week in week one that had a dog crap slate of games and it looks like we roll into that with week two as well we've certainly had some awesome stuff to talk about and i appreciate talking about it with you again finally on the show we got to do it again soon bro.
