We're talking everything from this latest episode of Lanterns episode six. We finally got Guy Gardner and perhaps the greatest ULG of all time. All that and more and all the episode of Unbinge starting now. Welcome in Unbinge podcast. The show's movies and news you love to binge. I'm Alfredo Brown. Joining by Jagger May, Matt Kaufam, or Sam Woll. We're talking everything from this latest episode of Lanterns. But first let's give you guys a spoiler alert. We're about spoiler lanterns and everything DCU. And I probably will spoil comic book stuff. So. All right, Jag, before we started recording, you said you are back in after this episode. What pulled you back in? It gave me so much good detective stuff and the little Easter egg things to where I feel like we started over. And I got the feeling that I got from the first episode all over again. But with more context of having watched more episodes. So it was like, it was almost like a season two that we got, right? And even though I didn't love the finale as much as everyone else, it was still very

good. And now that we got season two, I feel very good that in these next three episodes, everything is going to come together. And it took a little bit like rewatching because it was just like a lot of, a lot to impact as well. Um, I love the direction, everything. I love how grounded it is. I love that we got Guy Gardner again. It felt like we got more of the same. And it felt nice that we plugged into the greater DC as well. Yeah, Koff, how'd you feel after this one? It kind of seemed like everything is really falling into place. Like everything fits, whether it's been Hal, Guy, John, the tone, the story, all of it has felt like it has fit into the greater DCU. Yeah, it's been, it's been a great show. Um, it's a continual thing. We, we talked about this during peacemaker, like James Gunn and his team are putting out quality content, even if he is not at the helm of each project himself. What I really liked about this episode in particular was, while everyone was focused on

the A story with, you know, how being dead and how John's reacting to that, I really liked the details that we got in the background. Like, for example, when he's talking to his brother, Aaron about their father and like, how that, how John is now supporting basically the entire family. Yep. And his dad shooting us window to give his attention. The mom being upset that he won't talk to her and lying about how wanting to apologize. My favorite detail in the entire episode is when Guy says that Sinester broke out of jail. Yeah, that's a jail. That's huge. That it's huge. That's bad. That's bad. That's the bad. The grid lanterns lowkey love Harry Potter. It's amazing. It's because they got WBIP. They're like, we're going to abuse the fuck. That's what I would do. So fun. But that small detail, I feel like is going to go over so many's head because it's such a throwaway line that it's, it's got to lead to something. And I'm really excited to see where this goes because seeing the SNES, the birth of the

Sinester Accord would be incredible to see in the last couple episodes. Maybe we don't even know it might have already been born because he's older. We don't even know. So just getting something. Well, there's a lot of things that we don't know, right? Because like we get Carol Ferris in this. Carol Ferrell. God damn it. I want to do that. Future star sapphire. Yeah. What are you future? I think she retired, bro. I don't know. Depends on where they are in the lore. And if you even go with star sapphire's line, Sam, are you aware of who Carol Ferris is? Nope. Jag, you got 60 seconds. Carol Ferris is his main love interest. Do most of everything. She's what's called a star sapphire. They are that pink lanterns and they love intensely. So she's like, fucking nuts, but like crazy hot about it because it's a comic book. Thank you for the session. It's going to say like obsession. Yes. She's literally Nikki from obsession, but with a ring. Actually, yeah, that's ideal. And also her dad owns Ferris air, right?

Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Where how Jordan was like a test pilot and was like doing stuff. They go way back. Yop. Was that bleak livy? That's where Ryan Reynolds and Blake lily met. Yeah. Great lantern. His oldest time and nothing bad has happened with them. Never. They're just okay. Nothing controversial at any point. Guys, there's a small coffee, it's a small detail. A small detail. I noticed that Gabby actually turned to me. My wife is she was like, he's wearing it. It was the John Stewart fit. It was the turtle neck and the coat and just everything. Sam, you still have you watched? Have you watched Justice League yet? No, no, she's still a disappointment. No, it's okay. You're wow. I didn't say that, but quick to jump into the disappointment. I'm offended. I was at that. She hasn't listened to any verse. I was the Tiger mom of the podcast. He really is. That's what he's doing. What was more he is like he is. Yeah, I hope that's in front.

Oh my God. But yeah, this is this is the John Stewart fit. I'll say this everything in this despite this being such a grounded and the tone of it felt very true to tech, like more than ever now because we're investigating this murder. They did enough to give us all these little Easter eggs and tidbits that be like, remember comic book, comic book, comic book. And it just like I kept just pulling me back in. I thought this episode did a great job with that stuff. Do you like that guy gardener ripped off that end with his distress? Yes. Yes. That's exactly what guy gardener would do. That that what he do. He's like, yeah, that's a sick idea. He's like, here to brass go. You can have one too. I love I also love that we got the little Nordrop. He's like, yeah, you're a P.E. teacher's athletic director. Yeah. Go climb a rope. This episode though, like James Gunn kept promoting it with the blackest night yet to come or something to that effect.

And we even see that on guys light that he has there, the lantern signal. What are we want to call it? Where it says like in blackest night, you can call the green lantern essentially. I don't have the exact quote in front of me. Is it me or are they are they hinting at some stuff? Are they just keeping this like in in the lantern zeitgeist? So to speak, they want to keep in the air. I'm trying not to. What was that shit that we overhiked and nothing ended up happening in and we kind of do it over again? What was the first show? Was it a piece made? It was my first. Oh, it was. Yeah, I don't want to be a fisto. Yeah, I don't want to be a fisto myself or whatever. Because I know how I can't do that. I don't have the exact same. Domino effect of reactions of a cop and then to Alfredo and then I got it was just.

I stand by it. I don't want to be a fisto myself. It works on multiple levels. I don't want to fuck myself. I know how some of these writers work. They tend to it's like I want to go back to Batman. Yes, please. They look at they look at longest Halloween and everyone's like, fuck yeah, I understand Batman. That's the only thing they adapt. So I've got a Bible. The first thing they're going to look like what's I'm assuming a writer is like, what's the most green land and shit ever? And then someone gives in the Bible like, here's blackest night. Blackest night. Or they just read that. So like, I don't know, like maybe they just know that phrase and they're just going to hammer it to death. I'm not sure or we're going to actually get blackest night. If I'm James gun, I've said this time and time again, the most unique way they can make an event that isn't Thanos is to get to blackest night. Because it is a huge event throughout the entire DCU.

We love the lanterns. We got three right now. We even got fucking ghost. How we can talk about that? Allogram. Howogram. Like happy how this like, there's so much that they can do and it's super. Are we going to just bring how back? There's multiple ways we can do this. I'm all for it. But again, I don't want to get my hopes up and I just want to enjoy what they're going to give me. And I don't want to create false expectations. Yeah, I think if anything, it feels more like they're just breadcrumbing this so that one day when they do run a blackest night story. It does feel like it's been built up to I don't think they're going to try to jam that in anyway here at the end of this series. But let's talk about John really quick because I thought this was an interesting way to like to show him in present day. Sam John now is this architect who's trying to make basically underground panic rooms in midway city, which is supposed to be like Chicago after the events of Superman and suicide squad. And he references all those.

I wrote here. It's basically he's just like the architect for silo or paradise or fallout or any of the end of the world shows that we've seen before. All the other shows that we've covered go back and watch them and watch. I'll literally all of them. Everyone in the fucking ground. We're watching it. If people are dying and other people are going underground, you bet your sweet ass. We're covering it. So with John like being this guy, he's trying so hard to be just a normal person, be the architect, have some sort of a relationship with his brothers. But at the same time, like still ignores parents, still ignore how still ignore the idea that the green lanterns matter or mean anything to him. How did you feel about that? Because by the end of this, we kind of see like that stuff never left the back of his mind. Like the ring and everything that it means to him is still there with him. I mean, how could it? You know, that's childhood, that's childhood shit. If we know anything about the effects of parenting on serial killers, CEOs, we can go literally everything that happened with parenting effects to where we are now.

What was the show we watched or were talking about that a mentioned, you know, it's Ted Lasso. It's just like your parents can see why people are like kind of like fucked up. Yeah, yeah, meeting people's parents is like a guidebook to seeing why they're so messed up. Exactly. And that's something that even if he's at his best, it's always going to be a part of him. Yeah. And then I think what's interesting is all the steps that happened after the big event of episode five and we have the time jump and we're collecting all the pieces from everything else that we've gotten. My first thought was wow, John's really become the opposite of everything that he was training to be because he was training to be someone that would be a protector someone that would be there for everyone else that would be there to fight for the little guy that was going to be the hero. And he's essentially set himself up to be the opposite of a hero just in my opinion because if you're going to go out and build all these silos, it's because you're going to run away from a problem. You're not trying to fix the problem. You're just trying to create places to hide and it feels just like he created this other version of himself that was doing everything to be the opposite kind of like when he went to art school and figured if I just stop trying.

That's going to be the right thing for the lanterns and what they want to see. So he did a full reset and went back and just said if I'm not going to be a lantern, I'm going to be the most opposite lantern, which is essentially just someone that's pretending and becoming the leader of his family, still ignoring the big problems like not talking to his mom and also not trying to fight or go back in that way. So it's interesting that we end it with him going back putting the ring on. It's always going to be 5% powered in my opinion. I feel like it's ever going fully charged, which is hilarious. But then the way that he looks at how and the way that they look at this situation together makes me think we're going to get another snap cut back to a conversation that they had where it was like a if this were to ever happen. This is what you do. And it's also John just being at the end of the day as much as he's trying to hide himself. One of the most loyal ones and he's going to go back to the plan that he'd already discuss with how and how to solve these things. So I have an idea of who I think he's actually turned into here.

And I want to talk about that before I do that guys, if you're enjoying this episode, please leave a comment down below with your thoughts on the Green Lantern series on this episode. Everything we're discussing here today. Don't let me just throw yourself in the comments. Please. We're also recovering not just lanterns, but Ted Lasso on the audio side. If you're listening on Apple Spotify, we're covering dark matter season two every Friday. And we're going to be covering so many more shows, and especially getting like spooky season. We're going to do a whole bunch of other stuff. So make sure you're here with un-binge. Resident Evil. Resident Evil is happening. Yes. Resident Evil is happening. So if you're premium, we back, baby. That's right. That's right. Go watch movies. Go to the cinema. Eat popcorn. Supposed to eat popcorn. Yeah. Somehow hot bright feels good in a place like this. I made her to British. I'm sorry. I'm not going to do that again. It's real in British. Yeah. It's not my best work. Okay. So what I was saying here with John, you know who he did become? Is he, he kind of wanted to become this version of John that he thought he was supposed to be? He actually became how he kind of became how because he's a little bit of a dick.

And you see the way, even the way he's presenting to these people at the beginning, he's got like a a weird sense of swagger that he never really had before in previous episodes. A lot of confidence. He kind of fucking hates everyone around him. And you can tell there's a lot of animosity between the people around him. And even how's like you're cursing a lot and you're angry. And every once in a while he's making a joke. And, and that's why when he sees how dead he sheds the tear. And that's why later at the funeral, it matters so much to him and reading that eulogy matters so much to him because this is, this is John looking into a mirror of, of who he could have been and who he was supposed to be. He looks back at his whole life saying, I was training to be this guy. And maybe it's him realizing no matter how hard he's trying to run away from it, he's kind of become him the way we all sometimes inevitably become our parents or the people who have raised us. We, we end up picking up a lot of things from them. He's picked up a lot from how the same way how picked up a lot from Sinestro. Barry Allen Barry Allen.

Those are you driving. Sorry. I hope you didn't crash. I told Alfredo to bring up Barry Allen because I have a theory and I forgot it last time. Okay. A lot of people are really upset at this version of how where is some of it angry monkeys, you know, like Lex Luthoring, you know, bots probably, but I think some of it's very true. You know, it's like a millehesion withdrawal with how I feel like this version of the DCU and we've seen this before is the version of the DC without Barry Allen. Everyone is sadder, particularly how Jordan to where he got to this point now. And I think when John and I even think Guy Gardner become more of a center focus, how Jordan is kind of their Barry Allen in a way to where I think now, my whole point with the biggie back on yours is I think now John is just more sympathetic.

Just a very more. He was the empathy was already in there. We saw that with the bird, but having experience, seeing how we're out, you can be with people that depend on real relationship. Having a real relationship exactly like that, all that stuff, he can see how how on a mass level can get to where he's at. So when we got that eulogy, that was probably heartbreaking for him because he understood why how had to be the way that he was. They even had a moment where they were real together before the big bang happened in Rushville where he's like, this is a lonely job. Blah blah blah. And you know, you even you felt like that was a moment that John kept with him. So having having someone like that die right when you understand them is both heartbreaking. And I think that even drives you to pick up the ring more because you don't even want to solve how what happened to how you want to solve what could happen to yourself in the future, right? And some of it too is like him wanting to feel like how didn't die in vain.

And even how says that in his eulogy, right? It's like I know that I forgot the ring next. Yeah, well, yeah, that of course is I hope I matter. And I think that's all of us. Like that's not a half thing. That's not even a land journey thing. I felt it. And everyone does. And by the way, just to give like some context, the thing you're talking about with Barry Allen is there, there is a reality or a timeline in the DC universe where Barry Allen dies. And that essentially turns the justice league into like a little bit darker and they become the justice Lords. And they essentially do the peacemaker where they're like, we're going to have peace no matter how many men, women and children we have to kill to get it to kill to get it. And yeah, and like, no, I have to watch. No, no, it's all within the justice. Actually, yes, you should watch peacemaker because that is direct. That's the opening to the piece. It actually is canon. Like, yeah, you should watch it. Your homework was just getting longer. And I like that we can do this though, because we also have people watching lanterns that have maybe all they watch was like Superman and lanterns. And that's their only introduction to the DCU.

So it's great that we can have these. I'm the baseline. I'm helping. I lean. I lean loves you. I lean shut out to her. I think for being my stand. I lean. Yeah, you kick ass. The Sam's asking the correct questions for I lean out there. Sorry to be a dick and a nerd. I'm sorry, but we got to we got to sometimes love you. Sam. We love you. Do better. Why don't you do a homework? Why don't you quit your job and just do nothing but watch justice league all day? Yeah, this is your job. At the same time. You know, I don't stop working. What? I'm sad. I don't know. Thursdays your work from home. Do you say I don't do that to us? Hey, it is. You can watch on your phone. You just put it on your desk. Nobody else see it. You'll be fine. Did you have an office of yourself? Yeah. I mean, I don't have an office at the office by myself, but I will like put our show on. On the side while I'm working and people come up and they'll be like, is that you? And I'm like, yeah, because watch yourself at the office in front of your

co-work. She's willing to foe in front of the painting with all of the folks. Yes, because I'm sorry. I'm sorry. No, wait, wait. Fuck you guys. Fuck you guys because when we drop a new episode, I click in. I click in. I like I hype. I comment and then I play it so that I get the full view. That's my hidden jade being a baller. No, I do that too, but that's the hidden shame. I don't set it up for other people to see it because that's a. I don't care. Like you watching yourself. It's down here. I've got other. I've got other screens going on and I've just got it in my AirPods. And then I like to laugh at the jokes that you guys say because it's funny. Okay. I'll laugh at myself. It's very sweet and thuggy and very well adjusted of you to be comfortable on your own skin. Yeah. So, I'm sorry. It's our Jamie Tarte. So I don't think you realize how healthy that is. Thanks, guys. All right. Let's get back into this man.

John whoops a mask in this episode. Yeah. What's happening? I knew it. We're like, you turn it up. We're going to turn you off. And I was like, okay. Okay, baby, John. I do not have. Yeah. Yeah. I did love the fact that how could they even think that you would not be like fully prepared? Like he was a foot taller than all of them. So much bigger. Like Jason Ritter's certified showed. I do a little to the kid. I do like how he beats the shit out of the kid's dad and the kid. Noah still shows up with a suit and like here you go. I'll still help you out. But that probably deserved it. He probably knows when your dad's a bitch by that age. It really is. Like, yeah. You know who your parents are about like 1617. You start questioning. Then by like 20, you may like hate them. Now when you get about 30, you just kind of feel bad because like we're talking about to keep it on subject. This is how John Stewart is with how it's just like man. He's a fucking cut. And then now he's like, damn, you're doing your best. You know, 10 years.

So you see what happens. I think that we really need this episode because John going back to Rushville, it's not just, you know, the how thing and seeing how it's seeing the effects of everything that you do and what it does to other people. And I think that's something that like the Snydervers tried to do that with man of steel and the whole fight with with Cal El and Zod and then seeing how like it drove Batman to be like, ah, this guy's a threat. And we don't often have to deal with the repercussions of what happens with the superheroes. And for for John to go back to this city and see that everyone not only hates how, but hates him. And it has now transcendent generations where there's like people who were small children now still hate him. Yeah. I think it made him have to look at the responsibility of a Green Lancer and very different where you're not. Maybe it made him think more of like being a soldier again, where it's not this superhero where you're all righteous all the time. How tells him there's more than one killer sitting at this table.

And he's like, oh, you don't talk to your mom now because she agrees with the kills. And this is John like having to actually accept who he is now. He's still a soldier. He's still a soldier. It's just a different core now. And that's something I think that maybe he had some sort of a different, I don't want to say twisted, but a different sense of self righteousness given to him by his parents that his brothers call Joe's one. And what's interesting is that's all summed up in one sentence that he says to somebody on the phone when he says, like, then consequences, there's, there shall be because this entire show has been actions and then the consequences that follow. And now we're seeing the actions from last episode, 10 years on the road. And what that has manifested. And I think that's beautiful writing that. And I think the the quick moments and sentences of, oh, I'm just going to go stand the motel. John, the motel is not there. Nobody rebuild it. And then getting the lines about Noah as well and how he was persistent with FEMA because they weren't showing up to help with rebuilding or to help the

town at all until, you know, his persistence paid off. And then they actually did show up just how quickly people forget about, you know, the chaos that's left behind after these things and how quickly as a hero, they just he went on to go and live a different life. But he forgot about the mayhem that he left as soon as he walked away from the town and not knowing what that would do to those little kids, what, watching their parents crying, looking at things burning down and just seeing a hero walk away, not helping after that had to really fuck him up. I think you guys recognize who Maggie was immediately. Like I saw when she poured the coffee she had the watch on. I was like, oh, she's a little girl because it was very, it was also in the, like the pre pre show when they give you the little like here's what happened previously. They also pointed out that moment. So I was like, oh, I missed that. I even said in the group chat, I'm like, this is suspect because I'm like, why wouldn't she snitch, man? Like have you ever worked with someone in the restaurant industry?

Like that. I was just like, they're just dying to fucking talk shit. You know, she didn't snitch. I was just like, oh, man, that's suspect as fuck. Yeah. And then she tried to fucking hustle. I'm like, there it is. There's the poor. What's there? Did you? Did you, uh, so did you also chuckle when she said reparations? I was like, oh, it's ironic. You know, that was Nebraska and her too. That was racist and dark. I'm like, fuck, man. You've been in the racist girl. You can't be loud in reparations. Ripper. I maybe, maybe we shouldn't, I guess we don't own that word, but like the way she said it didn't feel. It didn't feel good. Yeah. Like it felt like, yeah, it's like what you say, she's like, oh, I was, what else, babe? It's like, it's like, oh, I can't say lesbian anymore. It's like, no, it's how you say it. Speaking of which,

John, yeah, we almost got a slip. But yeah, almost got the answer brother. Yeah, when you almost get gangster, you're just like, it's like wild because we've never heard John even sound anything remotely like that with anyone. He's got an angry with people sure, but we've never seen that relationship with his brothers. Like last time we saw him with his brothers, he's trying to say all the lyrics to an outcast song and they're laughing at him for basically being the Carlton of the family and like to see how much he's changed. It was just, it was those little things there, like just small conversational pieces show you how much John has changed. And he's not a vegan anymore. That's good, good catch. Yeah. Really good. It's important. I will say he was just grossed out about being vegan, right? You know, wasn't so much that like, it was a moral thing for him. And maybe I'm wrong on that wasn't. Then did it stem from maybe the birds? The birds and having to go get burgers every single time.

But then I think, oh, yeah, I would just get burnt out on burgers though. Like it's like, you know, give me a steak. I won't steak that or something. I don't know. Chicken. What's interesting is he stopped being a vegan after seeing that cow get laser and butchered by the laser. And like, it was like, oh, that wasn't that bad. Yeah. He's probably not like it is. I could, I could do it. I could do a steak. All right. Guys, this episode, man, we get guy gardener and he fucking rules too. I'm not going to lie. Like I remember when I, when I, when I'm still stupid. So it's just great, man. Like it's, I actually, I am kind of bummed we didn't get or maybe we will eventually get all three lanterns on screen together. Like that would, that would be, it's still so early, right? But that would be the, the Toby, Tom and Andrew Spider-Man, like altogether, which would just be so much fun. I mean, they have the hologram. So there's a way they could do it.

I'm done. Wait, now that they have the hologram, they can open the vault. So there's got to be something in the vault that's going to help, help you around. Oh, I didn't say about the vault. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I actually did think about that. I just got to it first. That makes I let you have that. Yep. There you go. Good job, Sam. Yeah. Tell this vault to open up. And then I wonder if you know how probably like stole a lantern, right? That's something I would do. I still something from every job I have. You know, we rock it right. I couldn't. We would absolutely steal a fucking lantern. Yes. Yeah. I mean, why wouldn't y'all like, it's like stealing from your job is like the most. It's not stealing if it's also supplies. Yeah. If it supplies money, that's embezzlement. Yes. Things like that. Maybe there's a lot of things. Thanks. Hallelujah. I took a printer with. Yeah. That's a whole printer. That's a. That's a little desktop printer.

It was like small. They were going to throw it away. And I was like, that still works. I'll just take a home. Oh, that's yeah. I would have done that. You made it seem like you put a printer in your pocket, dude. I mean, I wasn't supposed to take it, but I did. The passwords I've acquired over the years and never given back. They companies never change that shit dog ever. This is a long didn't do a bunch of old company stuff. 100% guys like I can tell you guys aren't getting enough out of your benefits from your company that they don't actually give you or know that you're taking. I had an old job call me in the last couple of years. And it was one that I had got 15 years ago. And they're like, Hey, um, so I just want to make sure that you don't have any of our passwords on stuff anymore. I'm like, no, obviously not. Why would I? Oh, well, I saw something come through that had to do with fantasy football and your lineups or something. And I was like, Oh, I don't know how that showed up. But I definitely, it was like I accidentally linked my other Gmail to something

else. And so they were just like seeing fantasy football content of mine coming through their. That's all you were looking up. Yeah. I don't. I'm boring. I just do browsers. I was typing Chris Brazill. Yes. So, okay, this relationship with John and Guy. First of all, I have a question is like, how does, do we, do we know yet how Guy got chosen? Because I want to know, he says they forged a new ring for him. This isn't, that's what, this isn't how's ring finding him and choosing him. Can I, this is this would help explain. Yeah, this would help explain to me why Guy Gardner's ring has so much more power to do crazy shit like that, right? Like, maybe I'm making mental gymnastics, but if people have questions like I do, that's the way they can write to explain it. That's what I would do.

I'm like, Oh, he's got, he's got the new and improved ring. Where you can, he's got like the iPhone's let open. Well, that's why the battery always dying on house. It's the old iPhone. So the battery ever charges all the way. Exactly. This kind of fifth. Yeah. Cause like, what's the fucking is that? Why Guy's constructs are more green too. Bavaria. Yeah, he went to Bavaria with that new, that new new shit. You know, got that extra third camera on that ring so we can get different levels of depth on these photos. Exactly. That brighter, brighter green color. Interesting. So, okay, have the, the guardians are forged new rings for lanterns? Have we had that? Yes. Yeah. If you watch a, was it green nights or something like that? I'm old night's history, emerald nights. And they started out with like five rings and they can basically forge harmony. They feel as necessary. Depends on our honesty. Just keep making more rings. Yeah. Send the one precious.

That would be the big lantern. It's the orange. Yeah. It's the orange. There's always a precious. Yeah. Keep it secret. Lar flees. So, it's mine is mine and mine not yours. Yeah. What cops said? It's the orange, it's the orange lantern. You know, um, never agreed. Okay. So this relationship with Guy and John, I think it's interesting because they know each other. They're not just aware of each other. They absolutely know each other. And the way they talk is very familiar. They've had discussions before. And then Guy says something to John where he's like, you're going to try to take the ring. And he's like, no, one of my some kind of sick fuck. And he's like, yeah, you're the kind of sick fuck that doesn't want other people to know. He is sick fuck. And Guy was right. So, I call him like he sees him, man. Maybe an asshole, but you can see you can tell. You can tell what people are like. I was thinking, no, he's like five percent. He's going to take the ring. I'm sure when he had five percent, he's just like hell. Yeah, just like I was trained, baby.

Oh, was it on five percent? It's four percent more than I need. I was kind of glad we didn't hear him say the oath right there. I don't know why I was expecting it. I want the oath to be a little more epic, I guess. Like I need it to be a bigger moment than I just dug up Hal's body. And I think there's also something inside of John too, where like he I think has to believe that he deserves to say the and that it's like he's supposed to say the oath like if this is now his time in his ring. And I think he's probably not going to do that until he figures out who killed Hal. Do we have any suspects? Do you have any suspects? Boy, Billy. Billy with the mouth open. I hope because like it's a fair about to say I think it's the kid. What? Because I think he's a senior half man hunter or something. There's something weird with that.

Oh, he had a he was real close to the grandma like she was teaching. That's a good fact. I'm with something. That's why in the conversation, the conversation where he's like, I'm not an idiot. You can say these things in front of me like he's trying to pick up some more information to see what they know. Yeah. And and and further shot to happen directly in front of how like in his line of sight, it was someone that he knew someone he didn't expect. And how was back in rushville making amends with people. It would make sense that he was making amends with him. He's also what he's quarterback of football team. He's deciding his college and he's doing the whole hat choosing ceremony. They were there. He killed coach Taylor and the fucking stands. That's nuts. Yeah, this is lining up because all you got to think about it from his perspective. He killed his grandma. He was close to because it's from I literally just rewatched every episode. He loved it. He's like grandma like stop listening full stop. He killed his grandma. Cucked his dad.

Cucked his grandpa got his grandpa killed on top of that. He was so passionate about his school being destroyed. He called FEMA repeatedly. Like if any mother fucker hates him because my mind was going to be Billy before you said this cough because I'm like, well, it still could be technically a William Macon, but it's just like the smaller weaker Cuck version. I also think this is the biggest reason why you do a time jump. Yeah, because you age up the kid to where it now he's he is. He is a threat. He is what eaten and he could be a potential. He's like a five star quarterback recruit man. Right. Yeah. This is also so you think he's committing to the what else you were Georgia. I think he's committing to the fucking red lanterns brother. Maybe that's the melody and a century. Spass Caban. Spass Caban. That's Caban.

Okay, just also like with the way that he's set up and house sitting on the stands, he would his personality, he would go face to face standing to go and talk to people. If he's going to have a conversation with someone that he still sees as a kid, he's going to sit down to have that conversation. So there's just a lot in that body language. It also makes sense that it would be the sun. To your point that he loved his grandma so much that he also knows that how came back and now how is he's like, it's no secret to me. I know that you were with him. So it's just getting closer to. So he's like, man, this guy has been all over my family all up in there. And messing with everybody, killing people or killing the people that he loves the most. I think it makes the most sense. You have to imagine that. I'm a dude. My mom's sleeping with the guy that killed my grandmother. Plus now that we know Sinatra is out of prison, who's not to say that he came and possibly. That's record with Noah. So I can go on.

Sinatra was fucked up where he would do that. He told I would do that if I was Sinatra. Like if you put me in jail, I'm not saying I want to do that. But if you put me in jail and like, you might opt, I'm straight up. Like what was that? The campaign I'm going after your kid and turn them against you. I don't give a fuck. You're thinking about like, what if that is Sinatra's way to be like, Hey, if you, if you want unlimited power, if you want whatever, you need to kill how Jordan approved that you're committed to this. And that's how it gets recruited to the Sinatra core and still fear into the town of Russia. That's that that would be the big twist, right? Cause like I think we're all waiting because of who the writer is. It's a lindel off right. Like usually have some sort of a big twist on how this ends. That's going to maybe perhaps set up something in the future or leave us wanting more. That would make the most sense. Is that it was the kid. It was Noah and the person pushing him through this semester. They'd be fantastic.

We did it. I hope we get some version of that. That's how it is. Then we have to turn all of our lights red for the last episode review. We would turn it yellow, ma'am yellow. Because Sinatra is yellow despite his skin tone. Yep. And that is fear. Pink love red is rage. Our anger red is rage. Purple or indigo is compassion. Blue is hope. Blue is hope green as well. Will. Black is death. His death. Remind me what white is again. I always get confused about white. It's like all of this game. Some of all the lights are all the colors. Add. Sorry. No. We love all communities. We do. It'd be hilarious. I thought you were going to say like the public or something. That would also be funny. But not as cool.

Not nearly as cool. Not nearly as cool. That's basically Sinatra chorus. Okay. Can I be a little like crazy theorist here? Because every time I hear anything in the DCU that sounds even remotely similar to something I've heard in the Batman, I sort of like I geek out for a second. The song when John and Carrie were hugging and John goes back to house old house sounded a little bit like something in the way that anyone else notices at all. I'm not doing the song. I'm a few does a shit. I keep on. And the thing is like I know I'm like I know they're not doing that. But there's a party that's like that. And I'm here like analyzing clay face trailers. I mean like I don't know like kind of looks like Pattinson's got them. I don't want to get dirty enough. What makes you excited? Like you keep being excited. You find all the strikes you want.

That was very mom of you Sam. And I'm not going to shoot you down here. You keep doing that. No, but you do. I'm sure what's I'm sure was fun. Sure. It's fun. Yeah. I heard it too. I heard it too. Thank you. That's all I wanted. That's that's all I really wanted. Okay, so we really only have like a few big questions after this episode, which I feel like we kind of solved some of them. Like it feels so on the nose who killed how the new threat, Sinestro, who is now out of prison. I think the next question is is how does John become the lantern? The rocks. What's in the box? And the box with the hologram. So the vault is clearly another little pocket dimension like we saw in peacemaker, right? The connection. I mean, that's that's not even just peacemaker. That's all that Superman. It's a DCU. But I'm saying right now, it's another connection to the other properties. Yeah, everybody's got a pocket dimension. It's literally like, you know, I got a duffel bag.

You know, everyone's got a pocket dimension nowadays. They're just giving them out. Well, I could be moved the plant from his house to to the city. And he's got this storage facility. The pocket dimension is there because he had it in the closet vault. So you had to move it there. You know that John's going to be taking care of Earl from now on. Yeah. And I think that's going to be his to like he's got to teach him stuff and be his like little ghost. I think that's great way to keep Kyle Chandler involved with either another season of lanterns or just the John Stewart lantern or in the greater DCU. And you can kind of just bring him in and out of the story. It doesn't have to be like, oh, well, what's he been up to? Why haven't we heard from him because he's not fucking real. He's just a force ghost that kind of hangs out with John whenever he needs it. Like that's it's absolutely perfect. That's the best way to keep him on. And if you want to bring him back, you can do the whole war. Here's this program thing and whatever you can comment book that shit up. If that like comes out, I mean, Kyle Chandler is getting fucking old.

So like, let's just like he said he turned 61 the other day. Also, I want to talk about they said that Nathan Filion might not be Greenland or all the time. He until he's fucking 90 you're locked in, buddy. They're got a hardener until I'm fucking like we can make more seasons of lanterns. James Gunn tap in everyone tag him. Like I will watch all the lanterns, all of them. Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, if fuck it, bring in Carol back. I'll watch some star sci-fi. I don't give a shit, you know. All the old Carol Ferris. Yeah, do you want to give a fuck? Yeah, you think you think you think John's gonna banger because she's old and still easy easy. They were talking about that speech. I would. So yeah, Nathan Filion will reprise his role as guide gardener and Superman, man of tomorrow. So we're getting two lanterns in man of tomorrow. Good, which means the threat is big.

It's big if we're getting potential wonder woman. Yeah, Brainiac for sure, but like that's gonna be a sick. I'm really excited for that. When does that come out? So do I have time to watch everything? Sam, you have so much time. Yeah, it's like next year. It's like six months from now. Please, man. I'm gonna keep I'm gonna keep not watching it. I'm gonna secretly watch it and not tell you guys and keep acting dumb. And then some you guys are going to have one of these back and forth comic book conversations where I'm just going to drop something you'll be like, she watched you know, it's wild is that we're going to start just only talking about justice league unlimited. So when you finish justice league, you have no idea what the fuck we're talking about after that. And unlimited is way better so you can get catnest too. Okay, well, you like you don't think I'm going to actually try to go through all of it. Yes, I want you should. You have until July 9th, 2027, by the way. So football season. I'm busy. Okay. We're all busy, Sam.

This is trying times for this country. You know, Jane Daniels dislocated his elbow again. Again, again. What is his mom going to think? Play about the children. Yeah. Guys, anything else from this episode that we missed? I feel like we covered everything on this, right? No, fuck. The little girl with the curly hair that's trying to do. Oh, yeah, we don't just go tell the fucking sheriff. She's clearly cool. Yeah, I think it is interesting. It is interesting that he did say, poignantly, don't tell anyone. So there's gotta be something to that statement. Yeah. I think she's, I think she's supposed to be the red herring here. That we think that she's the sheriff. My beast. You think the sheriff might be setting them like what? It's, I definitely think it's a son. But what if it's the mom and son working together? Because she straight up said, you think I'm lying and do all this stuff? Like they're playing them both. I don't know. It's possible. The whole town already fucking lied.

They're not. It's not. It's not. She'd be, she'd be so broken. Think about that. Carrie Kane. She loses how her marriage goes to shit. She loses. Was it her father-in-law? Her son murders Hal Jordan? Mm-hmm. I kind of hope for her sake. She is involved so that she's not so fucking heartbroken. She's got some like at least like a pinky on the wheel. Like I'd rather her be evil than heartbroken. I can't take that shit. Damn. Ruined a raven claw. Yeah. I wonder either even if she's not involved, she may have caught. I don't know. You're not caught in a way. I don't know. It's tough. It's tough to. Because she felt it. It seemed like a double. She cut her whole finger off. There's a thought in there, bro. Yeah. There's something. That's like, and I think it's 90% Noah and it's 50% Carrie. Like, meaning like, like, it's 90% Noah is involved, but a 50% chance that it's Carrie

involved too. I mean, how much of this too is her kind of repaying the favor for Zoe? Because I know Zoe said, like, you know, you'll be there to protect me, but like, how much of that is now like Noah's carrying on, Zoe's like a see or whatever it may be. And it's like, there's still some loyalty there because Zoe changed her life. Yeah. Yeah. You know, and they played the long game. Oh, how's going to come back? Like, let's not just kill him. Let's string him along and get the other landing back, kill him both. You know, like, I just, I wouldn't be surprised that the whole fucking town is in on it again. There's, you know, there's a line that actually another character says that I think, uh, crosses over pretty well to Carrie, where John is telling Guy Gardner everything you have is because I didn't take the ring. Right? And you think about it with Carrie, everything she has is because Zoe helped her and, and, and help the whole city. It's like, well, damn, if my whole life was because of this woman, yeah, I'm probably going to have some crazy allegiance to her, even though she's gone. Yeah.

And even how begged her and try to flirt with her. She's like, wow, I leave. Like, she's giving me something you wouldn't even understand. Like, what she said, you know, like, she gave me a miracle with her exact words. Which could mean Noah in a certain way. Maybe she was, she wasn't able to conceive and, yeah, and Zoe's technology gave her the ability to conceive. Or it could mean that. That's so we created Noah. That's it. And the game is called free for three on this game right now. Yeah. Yeah. Talks on fire. But you're going full-cut over from the corner, buddy. Yeah, because like, this is why I say that, like, it's her. And I still think it's a whole town because you got let's think all about they've lost. They got to use the hospital now, man. Universe, I've got some. I'm a pissed. Yeah. Like, it's not just because I thought man, that corner is being mean. Like, no, kind of fucked them a little bit. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They're all pieces of shit. They're all pieces of shit. They're all pieces of shit. Really, just running one little Nebraska town.

Who gives a fuck? High school football team still seems like it's doing pretty well, though. Oh, okay. Your quarterbacks get an opera is I'm just saying like, because he's not fucking human. It's not fair. That motherfucker is not real. Not real. Not real. Yeah. Not real. Yeah. Get your quarterbacks getting operas. I'm just saying. Because he's not fucking human. That motherfucker is not real. It's not real. This is what I thank everybody for watching or listening all the way through for myself, for Jag, for Crawf, for Sam. I'll see you next time. I'll use.
