We're the coffee's hot. Let's take some hot air. Okay, what's up everybody? Good morning. Welcome to a Monday edition of morning. We're going to go back to Joe. Life through the wind shield. Not the rear view. Welcome to a Tuesday edition of morning scorn presented by Brock the Baton Rouge.
Excited to get today cranked up. I'll be over at LSU football. I'll be about to interview series with FML health. They have not yet given me what athletes I'll be interviewing today. But my request was obviously for the old miss guys Prince will, daughtery, when he walked in. So, doing two weeks, we're not going to knock out all three today, but it's really up to them and their availability. And I'll hopefully at least get a couple of those guys. So we'll get to preview LSU Ole Miss. Lane Kiffin met with the Porter. He's got the week started off on Monday, peak-olding, clean, Ole Miss fans to treat everybody kind and to not be mean. Or whatever. I can certainly appreciate the effort. We'll see if it holds. All right, let's say some good morning. It's a good right to you. Hey, Devin, good morning. I imagine there'll be 20 state troopers with Lane at all times this weekend.
LSU fans are traveling there, please be careful. You know, I've been the ox for plenty. I've never had a bad experience there. I understand these circumstances are different. If we're really talking about needing state troopers to protect people, like what are we doing? Come on. I mean, maybe that's a message more for Ole Miss fans, but do we really need to sit here and tell grown people, DAC like adults, and not do dangerous things because one coach loved one school for another? Like, let's come on. Hey, Corey, good morning. Where's Pete Golding's defense finish in the past few years? Let's see, 2025 Ole Miss total defense ranking. Last year, they finished 53rd nationally.
In 2024, they were number two nationally. That was the awesome defense with Walter Nolan and Chris Paul and Tray Emo, they were awesome in 2023. 2024, I mean. 2023, we are gold and get there. 2023, they were 70th. So like that 24 season really was like the outlier, right? I mean, they were outstanding. He got to Ole Miss in 23. So three seasons there. So in 72nd, and then what does they 58th? I don't like that. Hey, Audrey, good morning. Mike, good morning. Matt, good morning to you and your family. How do you think we're going to do against Ole Miss? Trilady, do you think we should be concerned with Sam's ability to throw?
I think the big advantage for LSU offensively against this opponent is your coaches are going to scheme players open. I understand the familiarity. But if you have watched two games so far that Ole Miss has played against Louisville and against Charlotte, they're coverage bust in the second area of been alarming. And even their run fits in the secondary have not been good. They have not been good defensively, almost through two weeks. Which, if LSU can't move the ball, that's alarming. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think we should be concerned with the ball. That's alarming. They're third in the country right now, through two weeks LSU is in total offense. It gets two weeks, but you also did against Clemson and then tech.
But protect the football, avoid the disastrous play is what you have to do. Because that's the thing they can turn the game. You drive the length of field, you're in the red zone and you play pinball with a pass in a traffic and it gets picked off and run back a hundred yards. Like that's when you get in trouble in a game like this. Hey, Patrick, good morning. Dave Roberts here. There you are surrounded by fans, sharing wings, sharing drinks, high-fiving random strangers. Everybody remembers the game. Nobody remembers the guy coughing behind you until a few days later. At 2 a.m., you wake up with a fever and your throat's on fire. Now what? We have Paris, Jeffrey and crew coming to the stadium to remember running chimney box. Okay. Thank you so much for the call Patrick. We appreciate you giving us the opportunity to earn your business.
Hope our crews do right by you. Please let me know if you need anything from me. Be happy to make a call if I need to. Hey Adam, I'm no football season. Impressive baseball schedule. LSU has. Have a nice day. Take care. Hey Michael. Good morning. Who is the bigger advantage? Why is no one golding's defense or vice versa? So actually, that is a question that Lane Kiffin was asked yesterday. And I would recommend that you go check out locked on LSU that I posted yesterday around to wish because talk specifically about that. Play Lane Kiffin's answer and gave my thoughts on it. So Lane said, you know, when he was at Bama, you know, they, they, when he went to the school, miss the advantage. Because all those years working with Sabin, Sabin would tell him the things that they don't like defending against.
And so he was able to use that. And but he also went on for again, Sabin. So I guess my point is that my, my theory is we can have the conversation about who has the advantage and this or that. I think the team that has the advantage is the team of the better players. So who do you think has the better players? Hey, Jacob, good morning. Feel the beard. Good morning, beautiful morning and destined. Hope everything air shot has an outstanding age years. Awesome. Love that. There we go, Devon. Appreciate that. Let's get a 300 likes. Yeah. If you haven't done so yet, we got 342 watching. Let's please smash that like button if you would on YouTube. If you're on Facebook, please like the page. Share the post podcast. When you call plunge, you go full body.
And did you start that way? I'm having back problems for first time in my life looking into it. Thank you. So yes. Originally, I would fill the tub with water and I would get ice. And then I had my chiller that I would turn. Then I bought the chiller. And so I'd fill up the tub at night. And then I'd turn the chiller on and let it run all night. Now I would get in the tub, right? Then I bought a plunge pod. Not very expensive, maybe $40, $50. It's just a cylinder. And fill it up with water. I turn my chiller on at night and it chills all through the night. And then I get in. So yes, I get in like kind of in a ball and I get up to above water above my heart is basically what you want. I knocked my head. You don't put your head in the water, but like up to about here. Hey, Brad. Good morning. I agree with you about the same. It's going for two. What do you think about the play called? Yeah. I would tend to say that it's hard to criticize a call unless if you have a suggestion
for what they should have done different. But again, you dabble in the area of hindsight there. Like, what if it had worked? No, it didn't. Now, I did hear Hester and Flynn talking about the play call yesterday and Matt in particular and it was pretty smart, but it's like just understanding like how they were running a drag and they thought the corner would sit. But they thought they would get a coverage bus. But what he was saying was like every cornerback is just going to sit on that route. Know that they're just going to drag a lot of it right there, which wasn't there. So then what's the back of the end zone, which was a low percentage pass. So they actually walked through it in more detail. Like with way more football knowledge, actually, of why the play wasn't very good. So their feeling was you would use the middle of the field so effectively in the second half. Why not go to the middle of the field, which okay. Hey, dad, good morning. Real Debo, good morning from Indiana. It's in the 50s here. Oh, wow. Football weather is back.
The unfortunate thing for you, Debo is it is 50s right now and that's some sure great. Pretty soon it's going to be negative 50 and that's not so great. SPC, good morning. Hope coach you can get better. Like you say, go to your doctor. Yes. I did on the locked on episode that I published last night. I did give a little more disclosure since Lane was asked about coach O yesterday. This is if you missed it, this is what Lane gave the update on coach O at his doing better. You know, it was a little bit scary. I'm not going to get into details with that. So he's doing better. He's still not all the way back and he just means a lot to me. We've just been through a lot and his passion and probably shouldn't joke one day. You know, he said, hey coach, you know, I'm never going to hospital.
Man, if I die, I'm down on that field out there. So that's who he is. That's how he is. Everything and sometimes it's not always the best best thing to follow. So the day that we went to the best dress ball that was a Saturday. It was August the 15th. Yeah. Saturday, August 15th was the best dress ball. While we were at best dressed is when I got word that coach O had gone to the hospital. And you kind of heard it in Lane's voice there. There were a few tense moments made it through that, but he did stay in the hospital for nearly a week. When it on that Saturday, it was David Scrimmage, who was obviously not a tiger, saying the Scrimmage. That was the mistake of the day, the former players Scrimmage, the football on that
Scrimmage when they were all invited to go. And I don't think, and if I remember this correctly, I'm pretty sure I do, he wasn't discharged from the hospital until Friday. So he was in there for almost a week. And so he was working his way back and getting better. But you could kind of hear the concern in Lane's voice there. Because initially there were a few things that apparently were a little scary, but I understand it's made it through all that. So I mean, I'll be able to put football ups today. I can ask again. I can ask around. Hey, Kaley, let's see, Morning Scone, can't help but wonder if some of the first half blunders wouldn't have happened if they had some preseason reps. Oh, I, there was, so I guess talking about the Saints.
So great interview yesterday with James Hurst, former Saints' offensive lineman. And he said that point of line. He agreed with you. That, I mean, he came out the shoot with that basically to say, it, you, and it's interesting because football is probably the one game where I think they might have been talking about this on the broadcast or I can't remember exactly. But it's where you don't practice the way you play. Like you just, you, you can practice full speed in basketball. You can take BP reps in baseball against live pitching. Football is the one thing where you kind of taper it back. And so you need to go full speed in the game scenario. That was his take. Yeah. So I mean, maybe there's something to do that. And I asked him how long did it feel to your ready like a preseason. He said, you're usually 25 reps or so. You go run three, four series, maybe Max and you feel like you got it.
And that's kind of what it felt like Sunday. Hey, Jesse, good morning. Do you think the league office reached out and told Laney Pete to cool things down this week, but their pressors were pretty tame? No, I don't think the league office did. I think those two guys are friends and have been and I think they're adult humans that realize the need to not be ridiculous. Hey, Josh, good morning from Strop City. All right. Shout out Bastrop. Hey, Bradley, did you see Bo Nick's intent to throw a four pass last night? I did see him intent to throw a four pass last night. Incredible. Hey, James, good morning. Kevin, what up, dude? Do you think our next OC and DC are currently on the staff? Yes. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah, OC DC on that. Yes, I do. I think that's the intent.
So I, if Charlie White gets a job, it's probably T Martin, right? Hey, Thomas, good morning. Jay Fork, good morning. When you called Ole Miss a five on locked on LSU, did you receive a season assist? Not funny. Hey, Michael, good morning. Tiger diver, good morning. Good morning. Clayton, good morning. Connor, good morning. Come into a game from Nashville in November. Would love to shake your hand, purchase some FMOL Tiger gear. We're going to get some. Connor, I love that question. We'd love to meet you. So if you're coming for one of the home games in November, my suggestion is come by Don Juan. So Friday's AFR at Don Juan. So three to six. That'd be, that'd be, that's where you know where I'll be. And in the FMOL gear, they don't sell it. It's just, and they've done a great job with it, obviously.
But, and people ask me all the time, they don't sell it. It's just, you know, for promotional purposes. So they give it to me to wear on the interview series and things like that, the shows and everything like that. So they did a hat giveaway here recently. But my suggestion is if you want something, maybe just go to one of their accounts in DM and say, can I buy a hat or a shirt or what can I do? That would be my recommendation. I think I want to say. I think I want to say, can I buy a hat or a shirt or what can I do? I think I want to say, can I buy a hat or a shirt or what can I do? Okay. Parish construction and roofing. And of course our friends at FMOL Health Our Lady the lake the championship health partner of LSU athletics. Hey Jason, good morning. So a clip of you on the room show. Yeah. Recently, I mean, I've been a guest on Jim Rome show. He like played a clip of my show. That's interesting. Good. Good. King. Yeah, your morning, Matt. The need the National Guard and Oxford. Yeah.
Hey, Bryce. Good morning. Crazing. People are calling to bench. Love it. I was prize Clark has been QB2 from what you saw in camp. He was better than Long Street. Well, not only oh, was he better than Long Street? Um, I don't, I don't think so. I don't. I think the surprising thing is that Long Street was taking the two reps. And I'll tell you that was one of the questions I had to ask you. I just only got the microphone once for a question. So when I asked him about defensive line. Morning, Matt. Someone needs to check on locked on Ole Miss guy for stroke. He could barely else. Your defense depends. State defense from a few years ago. I don't know what that means. Hey, Bradley. Good morning. Jack. Joe, what's up? Y'all? Good morning. Sup. Hey, Quentin. Good morning from KC. All right. Devon, what I do? Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Rocky. Good morning. Was good to get an update from Lane on Coach O. Um, they're still not saying much, but hey, Stuart. Good morning.
Greg, good morning. And your opinion was the LSU offense exposed against tech. Do you think they'll struggle against Ole Miss? Um, no, I, I think the important thing to remember is they put up 528 yards of offense against the Louisiana Tech. They moved the ball. The problem is when they got in the red zone, they kicked three short field goals and threw two interceptions. Um, if you convert touchdowns, you score 70 points in that game. Um, you know, to have three goal to go situations and end up kicking field goals. That's, you're not executing in the red zone. So go finish drives. Hey, buzzman. Good morning. Dale. Good morning. Rooney. Who cares? What will it sound? Okay. Adam, go, cancel the chief's lesson. I'm on that football. Guy Brooks. Good morning. Greg. Gregory. Good morning. Have a sconey day.
trivia. What up? Good morning. Joe. Good morning. Made the triple Jacksonville for the Clemson game. But Shaman can't make it to Ole Miss. Should be a great environment, man. Now, someone asked me, you know, do I think you know, the environment really is a big deal. Yeah, dude, it's hard to win on the, I've seen really good LSU teams go on the road and lose games that they should probably win because it's hard to win on the road in the SEC. I mean, 2006 LSU was maybe the most talented team they ever had. Lost that Florida and that Auburn tough road environment. It's been 2016. Was a super talented team. Lost a game at Auburn. Got less miles fired. Um, you know, you, uh, it's, it's not the, like, the LSU team in 24 that went to South Carolina. They won that game, but needed a big comeback. I mean, they were, you know, on the Cusp of losing that one. It said, you know, it's a, it's going on the road and the conference is a hard thing to do, man. It's a big advantage playing at home. So yeah, they got to go manage it well. Hey, Jesse, since you aren't going
to Oxford, can we get whiskey and weed set at a time with death? Thought about it actually. Maybe, but probably not. Bill, good morning. How's it going? It's going good, man. Thanks, Bill. Leslie Cole, good morning, Mason, good morning, Janet had a bad experience at Oxford in 2003. Both teams are really good. I was there in 03. Um, I had a great experience. It's when he live fell down. Um, I, I mean, I, we weren't accosted by any Ole Miss fans. They have like a 10-year-old flipping off, but whatever. I mean, that's, um, but never had, never had problems in Oxford ever. Morning, Matt. A recent Learn Mississippi State also uses a 335 stack on defense. Hopefully,
this recent game helps us prepare for them. Yeah, that's, um, Zach Arnet, you know, Zach Arnet does use a little bit of an orthodox look. Tell you it, um, I still think state was much better on defense when they had Christians. Hashtag breaking news. Players matter. Hey, Brandon, good morning. Cole, fan of short for fanatic protection is necessary. I mean, just be humans. Israel, good morning. They're going to throw trash on the field. We know this is coming. Um, maybe, I hope not. Um, I hope that listen, you can go create a great environment and be passionate and love your team and all that stuff. Just hope you're behave and are safe. So, uh, joy be is game coin dead or they are any timelines when you expect it to be active. Yeah, so it definitely not dead. Um, the reason the website, which is if you look at a scroll on
fire athletes, um, the reason right now why you can't, um, create one of the, the digital cards on the website right now is because that function is being upgraded to, um, support more volume. Because as I mentioned, really hoping to be able to share some good news with the L. So definitely not dead. They've never, we've never stopped working on it. Um, so yeah, hope to share some good news soon. I know your time to be asked, is there a particular reason L. S. U. Won't reveal condition? What's going on with coach? Oh, is it Ed's wishes to keep a private or L. S. Yeah, I think coach. Oh, probably doesn't want out there. Uh, Justin, what's the reason Bama always has the same biweek as L. S. U. because they play each other after the buy good spot on the schedule. I think they both want the buy. I mean, that's that that hasn't always been the case for L. S. U. historically, but certainly in the last 15 years or so, it's been that way. Um, and I think it's, it's where it falls in the schedule and
that game is that first Saturday, November and, um, they want the buy before they play each other. Hey, Alan, good morning. Uh, come not that dissimilar from Georgia and Florida, getting a buy before their game annually. Ole Miss coverage buses L. S. U. biggest advantage. It's Lane's greatest strength. Brian, good morning, Matt from Assonette, Massachusetts. I was talking about I was in Mansfield, Ohio, some of them, Shawshake, the old prison. Okay, I thought so the movie wasn't the movie set in New York. So is what you're talking about in Ohio, is that, um, is that where the movie was? Was shot like was the prison where the movie was filmed in Ohio? I don't, I guess I don't know that that history. Hey, Carrie, good morning. Do you have an AFR Ole Miss is burning episode ready? Um, no, because I don't care if Ole Miss is burning. Like that's the point
you can't miss about that. Like, Bama is burning is very specific to them because it was great to see their, their dynasty erode. Ole Miss has never been dynastic. It doesn't matter. They're just what they are. True acts, what up, man? Tiger diver. What there? We're on for jingle gate. I don't know, man. Thomas is keeping track. You know, I'm supposed to, I know he's keeping it, but he's not posting it every day. Maybe, maybe just to not jinx it. Any inside on Shereef Denson and Antonio Kite. Thanks, Matt. Sorry. Hey, Ricky, good morning. How do we get a parish hat? Um, come by the parish office. So if you pop on in or on Lava Lane, um, right off of Highlandia, pop on in the front, um, and say, Hey, Skone said if I came in, you'll give me a hat. They'll give you a hat to promise. Hey, Dexton, good morning. Bubba Weston, good morning. Tyler, good morning, Matt.
Is anyone legitimately concerned for Kiffin safety or was the governor more or less kidding about the National Guard? I didn't hear the governor's comments about National Guard. Um, I look every coach has always had security detail. You always have like, stay police with them. Matt's been forever. So, uh, are they going any greater lengths? I mean, I would think you want to be on heightened alert just in case, but hopefully everybody cooperates and it's not a big deal. Hey, Jackson, good morning from San Diego. Can I just say I think DeShon Spears is really underrated. He comes up with big stops and plays when we need it. Hope he continues to shine. Yes, Spears was a great prospect coming out of denim. Uh, it was kind of thrust into the, into action as a freshman in 2024. Remember the first game you ever played him was the game in Vegas against USC and somebody got ejected. Who got ejected it? Was it sage Ryan got ejected in that game for targeting and then Spears had to go play safety against against SSE. I mean,
obviously it's when SC had the game winning drive at the end and whatever. But um, um, yeah, I think he's, I think he's in his in a very natural spot now as a guy with cover skills, but physical enough to play the run, uh, the way that star position is sort of developed in this defense. I do think suits him very well. Morning, Scott. How was watching the game in the stands? I was good. Uh, enjoy it. Definitely enjoyed it. I mean, it wasn't obviously a great game, but, uh, but it was great to go and, you know, um, cheer a little bit and, and, um, get to experience, you know, experience a game with with Erica, which we hadn't done in so long and Tiger Stadium. So it was great. I hate Charles. Good morning. Cool. Based on Lane's comments on Sam Levit. In fall camp, he made throw that made throws that very few people can make. I think Levit and he's manages adrenaline will be fine. Let's see. Matt French. I read Mike Tatez a bit.
If you haven't read it, Matt was going to sit there. Um, I did not, I've not seen it. And actually, this morning, I woke up and I realized, um, I had not yet even seen the, um, the arrangements yet. There we go. Saturday. Um, might be. Couple more. Oh, it's, uh, it's 17. I gotta go Tiger Joe. Good morning. Obviously, Baker calls, defensive calls. Kiffin has made it clear. Charlie Anders trust calls. Your offense does Pete trust Brian round to call his defense. I think Pete Golding calls the
defense at all miss. I'm not, I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong on that. Um, but I'm, I'm almost positive that, um, uh, that Pete Golding calls the defense for all miss. Okay. 715. I got a bounce.
