The following podcast is a deer media production. Welcome back to the Not Skinny Bonafat podcast. I'm your host Amanda Hirsch and I still can't believe that I get to chat with some of my favorite stars on my very own podcast where you'll feel like you're just talking shit with your best friends in your living room. Hey guys, welcome to a new episode of Not Skinny Bonafat. It's your host Amanda. Hope everyone's having a lovely Tuesday if you're listening on a Tuesday and if not then I hope you're just having a great day. Whatever day this, I am super excited about today's guest because you know when there's a Coltie show, everyone knows about it, you know, by Asmosis, by social media, by you know, just they become celebrities. The actress become celebrities and you took them to the show, but I was actually part of this Coltie show. Okay, I was watching it in a real time when it was still

on the CW network, which let's have me on the sale to see that way in our free. You took find out, you took fact check. What's happening there because it just means a lot to me. The show, I was obsessive that I did convey to my guests that I may have fallen off the show at some point when it became a little bit too cray, cray, which I feel like all of the actors spoke about. So if you watched Riverdale, then you know her Madeline Hetch is here. It's Madeline. Okay, don't get a twist set. We talk about, you know, why it's Madeline, which is an interesting little fact in and of itself, but she's just great, she's beautiful. She's talented. She's working on a lot of different stuff. She's actually going to be an American Horror Story, which is coming out in September 24, which by the way, a little nugget for you guys, which I didn't share with her because I didn't want to be like, let me do, but I'll do it. You guys I audition for American Horror Story. Yeah, I got a like a edition word,

which I don't even do that, but they reached out to me about it, but doing some small little thing, and I was like, oh my god. And then I had to send it a tape. And it's one of those things that I don't regret, but there are things in life where they're so left feel for me that I'm like, okay, I'm just going to do it. You know, I'm going to vomit it up and send it in. And if it's meant to be, it'll be an if it isn't meant to be, then it won't happen. I do wish I'd put a little bit more effort. I didn't even you have to film when you do self tapes like, like I'm a clear background. I don't have a clear background in my freaking house. Okay, so like there were things in the background. I think a crib was in the background. I did a few takes, but like definitely not. They didn't try to like nail it. Also American Horror Story is so crazy that what I had to say was so like not part of my life that I think like for maybe my first acting job, it should be more, I would be better at something more like relevant to my actual life and not jump into, you know, whatever this season

is about that I cannot divulge. But yeah, it was I don't think I did my best job. So I'm not surprised that I didn't end up getting it, but it would have been cool. And I just feel like that's a little tidbit than I audition for American Horror Story. One of that been cool. But Madeline Patch is an American Horror Story. You can watch that on September 24th. And she is here. So enjoy our conversation. Madeline. Yeah. Which like I'm so like I'm sure people have but charter name before I don't care anymore. You don't know. I don't even I don't even correct people. I saw I think there was actually a video from Fashion Week that I saw them not like correctly. Yes, correct. That's crazy. Yeah, maybe you probably didn't even pay attention. No, it's like I was like here in M like a map. I'm usually assuming it's me. I'm so excited you're here. Are we beginning? Yeah, we started. Well, now we are. Okay, copy, rolling. Nobody said anything here. No podcast. Well, what do you want? It's to be like a movie set.

I don't know. I don't. I mean, that's my news. Okay. So we're starting action right now. And we're chill. We're good vibes. We're positive. Love. I'm excited you're here because I'm sure a lot of people you talk to are like Riverdale blah blah blah. But I actually like was a Riverdale fan. Oh, do you get what I mean? Yeah, like so I was like part of this world. Not just to like know about it because everyone that was about it. We know what I was thinking today about it. Because you guys are got so huge. All of you and like you're following and everything was Instagram crazy then. I know that was like the peak of Instagram. The like the height of Instagram for us. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So it was like a good social media time to like for sure. Be okay. Yeah. I couldn't be like I couldn't have been more perfect timing like it was like Instagram. I just got really big and the show came out and I kind of felt like it's perfect storm of everything working together. I know I wonder if today you know what I mean? I wonder what happens like a different times. Well, they don't even do those 22 episode seasons

anymore. It's so I think it's harder to get invested in television because we're not we're like believing the audience has a shorter attention span. Therefore we're making shorter shows for that. But I think if we made longer shows people would be more invested. And it really came out all the time. And it was once a week. Yeah. That's another thing. What do you think about Ben Jing versus making the audience kind of wait for new episodes? Well, ironically, Riverdale was out for a whole year on CW and like we felt like we lived under a rock. We really just anybody watched this show. And then it went on Netflix and I remember we were all in an airplane flying somewhere together and we were on this flight overnight. Maybe Mexico City. I'm not sure where we all were. And we got off the flight. We were like, wait, did you guys gain millions of followers where you were on that flight? Like the night it went on Netflix. So you I do kind of see the Benjing does create that investment. But I think we had no time between seasons. You know, things were coming out so quickly that people could get invested in Bench at the same time. And also we made so many episodes that these people are spending 22 hours of their life every year with us.

It's a lot of time. So I'm proud to say I was a CW girl. No way for Netflix. I didn't even know was on Netflix. Is it still on Netflix? Yeah. Yeah. I think people think it's a Netflix show. Yeah. Let's give some credit where credit is to you. CW. I miss you. I miss you. Wait, it doesn't exist. Any more. I think there's a version of it. But it's not the same thing anymore. You know who's kind of CWEE right now? Amazon Prime. Kind of agree. Yeah. Yeah. They're really slang. Certainly point is so good. I'm obsessed with Megan Park. Yeah. She's all my everything she does. I think it's really lovely to see because she was on secret life of the American teenager. Right. And she was, you know, a young actor and it's really nice to see somebody who's been in the shoes of the young actors who are making the show now who are writing dialogue, but people what actually said everyone's young women's voice and everybody and that's why it's resonating. She's incredible. My old ass is so good. She's so good. My old ass. I watched that too. I became obsessed with that amazing sell. Yes. So. But she also casts her shows like she takes time. She

does rush things like I'm such a big fan. And Casting your shows with the actors that are which I guess happened in Riverdale too, which aren't known at the time coming in with. Well, I watched Ella Rubin and Untoldon to be fair. Okay. It was the lead of Sterling point. No, I know she's the lead. So what's Untoldon? It's like a video game horror film. I love horror. So I watched her not and I was like, she's gonna be a star. Like it was so clear. It was so clear. Did you reach out to her? I'm nice. Shut up. Maybe. But I didn't know. I thought she was incredible in that. She's busy. She works all the time. I know. But but don't you think that it would be nice to like get a DM from someone that you know in the industry like you're so great watching your show? I do have some lines actually. You do? Yeah. Actually, it's so crazy. This girl Sadie Stanley who ended up playing Kim possible. Why does her name sound issue? Because we did a movie called Pretty Baby together. I know this is really full circle moment. When she booked Kim possible, I had only seen people being like, it shouldn't be her. It should be Madeline. And I was like, this is horrible. This is a young girl. I think she was maybe 18 or under 18 at the time. It was her first big thing. I was like, this is not. People are not kind. Like, there was no world in which I was playing Kim possible. I was like 27. No. So I DM turn. I was like,

hey, I'm really excited for Kim possible for you. This is so exciting. Like congratulations. You're incredible. You're gonna be so good at it. Whatever. And then five years later, we did a movie together. That's crazy. Did she answer your DM? Yeah. She just like, oh my god. I can't believe you're saying that so sweet. I have to look back now. It was a really sweet exchange. That is and that happens so much in your industry too. And I feel like even more now we're like normal people kind of feel like they know the inside baseball of the industry. You know, things come out about like actors being dropped from movies or so and so not getting it or so and so being replaced or, you know, I've read movies. I'm in that I've never even talked to anybody. Poison Ivy. You're being well, that was something I've I've benefitted me that like I'm like like the poison ivy fan cast thing. I started that. I started that. I was like, I am the head of the fan. This is my camera. I am the head of the fan casting. Poison Ivy. Everybody knows I want to do it. Who knows if Matt Reeves is even listening to me. But there are like, I remember I read something about Spider-Man like a year ago. Like Madeline's been cast as whatever in Spider-Man. And I was like, oh, cool. Like, is someone gonna let me know? Like it happens all the time. Do you ever buy into it when it's not you starting it? Oh, like, okay. Like do you ever like see a

fan cast? Oh, for myself. Right. Like a fan casting and you're like, oh, oh, like when I like it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There's definitely been a moment where I've texted my team and been like, are they making this? Like, what's up with it? Yeah. But they're typically wrong. I've gonna be honest. Like, it's not usually like rumored is like not usually. It's like at least in my experience. It's like the red head also. Yeah. I like when they cast like real red heads. I think it's nice because it's like so rare that like my hair color is embraced in cinema. Like oftentimes I'm like, oh, I can I'll wear a wig. I would never die in my hair. But I don't wear a wig or whatever. You would never die your hair for a role. I mean, well, never say never. It's on the role. Right. But currently I stand on the no because wigs are incredible. Like you can why would I need to have you worn wigs in movies before? I have not. But I want to. I'm ready to do it. But I feel like we're also so hyper aware of wigs now. Like, I don't even feel like with the show. Sometimes you don't know. Right. Sometimes so they need to not know. Right. Well, for people, unfortunately, people will know and they look at me. They know my red head. So people will know. Right. And I'm also like, guys, you really want me to I would shave my head for the right role to be clear. Like, I'm not like precious about my hair, but I'm like, it has to be the right thing. It has to make sense.

Do you have to upkeep the redness in any way? No. Okay. No. Just like, yeah, mom and I have the same color and brother. Really? Yeah. All three of us. My dad, no, but my whole family is redheads. Oh my god. I love that. Yeah. Did you ever like have, because I can't even like remember a time where it wasn't cool? Because that was a cool one. No, no, no. It was a cool one. I was a kid. Anywhere kid it wasn't horrible, horrible. Really? Yeah. Like what kind of stuff? They would like throw stones at my brother at school because he was a redhead. Yeah, it was, I mean, it was less bad for me, but it was really bad for him and throw stones. Yeah. You grew up in in Washington, right? Yeah. Yeah. I'm like, I think that I learned as a child, my parents are South African. I was not raised with religion. I was raised plant-based and I had red hair. I couldn't have been like more of a like, I didn't belong anywhere. Yeah. And I think I learned very early that people are afraid of what they don't know, what they don't understand. What's different from what they're used to. So I had to accept that very quickly, obviously. Is it an alternative? And now, the things are embraced. And it's like, you know what? Thank you, universe. That's nice.

Now people are dying their hair to look like yours. Yeah, and it looks great. So your vegan since you were infantilized, is that the word? I was inside of her tummy as an infant. So your parents are vegan. Yeah. And then you were born and you start doing the taste things. And it's all when you give the baby the first food. It's like the avocado. Well, they tried to give me, my mom couldn't breastfeed. They tried to give me regular formula and I project how vomited. Okay. When I was a baby. So they're like, okay, we're gonna not do dairy with her eater. They were vegetarian. Okay. And then they had me an epjective vomited dairy. So they were like, it was a sign. It was a sign. Like, what's this go vegan? So you've never in your life tasted meat. Never. Actually, you know, that's not true. When I was 12, we were in South Africa and they knew like, Somosas. Yeah. My parents had gotten a bunch for my brother and I and they'd gone into the strip mall and I took a bite and it was ground beef. And I screamed a lot. My dad could hear me from inside the strip mall and he came out and I was like, so upset because when you're raised, like, not to have something, you think it's like bad to have it. Right, right.

And I was so young. Maybe I was nine or eight. Was it a Somosah from the strip mall? Probably. And I was just screaming in the car. So I didn't, I didn't like, actually taste it. I think it just fell out of my mouth. I was so horrified. I saw some one of the interviews you did with like your whole cast from Riverdale. It was questions about you. And it was like, what a sheet. And they were like, nothing. They said that. Oh, nasty. Like leaves or like whatever. I eat a lot of veggies. Yeah, for sure. I eat a lot of Madison Park. Have you been? I saw you mentioned that too. And I was like, my first thought was, and I'm a New Yorker and I haven't been. Like, what does that mean about me? It's a really special experience though, too, because they make $1,100. It's expensive. Is it a, first of all, I'm making that up because of 11, but isn't it like, is it a set price or is there a person? Okay. So it's not like a per, like you go for like the whole, they experience. It's an experience though. Like it's obviously not, you know, affordable. But it means, but it's like one of those things where I don't go out to eat in LA because there's no vegan

restaurants there anymore. It's so bizarre. What about my, gratties, moderate? Yeah. Yeah. It's that as good as it was. I kind of agree. It was good. I remember. There's such a niche conversation for your listeners. By the way, like they probably never been to gratties, moderate. For so why not? I don't know. Well, maybe maybe you have. And if you have, if you haven't, you should go. But it's like one restaurant in LA. Do you know what I mean? But like I'm kind of what's your feeling about LA currently? You live, you live there. Okay. You love. I love. I think there's no part of me that doesn't think that I belong there. Like I have a great community there. I love my space. But the food seems like really for, I mean, for a vegan, it's like, there's, it's all gone. So you cook. No. So what do you do? I just kind of like eat for sustenance, which is really, that's why when I come here, I'm like, oh, such a nice, like you're not a foodie. You eat, you eat to live. I can choose to turn off being a foodie. You eat to live, not live to eat. Yeah. Oh, just that. I do love snacking though, which is a problem. Like almonds. No, no. Okay. How dare I make like little vegan sack plates? Everything that you have. Everything you have is a meat eater. I have as a vegan. I just have a vegan version. Everything. The cheese is. Yeah. Cheese is our guy. They have vegan meat. It's

not like I really like, are you getting your protein intake? I look pretty healthy on. You look amazing. But you know the protein trend. Like now protein is like a thing. It's like we need a thousand one hundred grams of it. Everything's a thousand one hundred today. Oh my god. Of course, I'm eating, I'm eating my protein. Of course, I am. Okay. God. Well, I'm glad we settled that you're eating your protein. Everyone don't worry. Don't worry. She's getting your protein. Do I have to keep my keep looking right? I love it. I love it. You're doing the office. Yeah. Your birthday was not too long ago. No. Yeah. How did you celebrate? Um, I, you're Leo. I'm a Leo. I'm a Leo with a Scorpio rising, which is like really spooky. Actually, should not tell people my rising. I was like very like this is embarrassing for a couple years. Because I'd be like, ooh, when's your tail gonna come out? Yeah. And I'm like, wait and find out. Don't threaten me with a good time. Um, but you do give Leo. Like Leo, I clearly say. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm proud to say I'm a Leo. I love Leo. Gemini. Spooky. Wait, why? Do you have two personalities? So what?

Actually, Leo's and Gemini's are good. My dad's a Gemini. And you get along. I know them all. I know them all too well. A male Gemini is kind of like, could be a little cray cray. A little cookie. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I want to go back to your hippie parents. You call them hippie parents, by the way. I think that they're self proclaimed on that. Okay. Yeah. Self proclaimed. What was it growing up like that? What I mean, at the time, I think you never really appreciate your experiences as you have them when you're a kid. But my dad has like greenhouses in the backyard. Because it's Washington so much, you know, space and he grew. I think every salad I had as a kid, my dad grew. Like it was such a now looking back. I'm so jealous because everything we have is genetically modified and touched with so many pesticides. And it's like, my dad would walk outside and grab lettuce and wash it. Not well, my dad. There was always dirt in my salad, which was so disgusting. And then we'd eat. And I think that's such a special thing. It's just a dream. Like imagine you could go now. Be like, I want an apple. As an adult now, I'm like, man, like they grew apples. They grew cherries. They grew pairs. Like he's such a green thumb guy.

I would have I would love that now. I'd appreciate it so much more now. Are they still growing? Yeah. Oh, okay. So you could stock up when you go. I should just bring all my previous back when you went to the farm. Really cute. So how did you celebrate your birthday? Oh, I gave it to my friends over at Dave and Buster's and Los Angeles. Do you have that here? We have at Dave and Buster's? No, yeah, we do. A version square. I think I was there for five year olds birthday party. Actually, I'm really trying to get back into like my playful child's side. Did you rent out the space? Okay, that's fine. It was really fun. You used the party room. Oh my god, I imagine. That's the only room I use. It's really fun. Yeah, so tell me about it. Like how many people? Was it like a big? I think that was like 45. I was that big. I don't know. That's kind of like everybody I know. Everybody I wanted to see in a room. Yeah. It was a really great group of people. So fun. I'd never been to Dave and Buster's. It was kind of a wild card for me to just be like, let's book this. And it was just a random idea you had? Yeah, I was like, I think while like having an activity for a birthday party. Oh, you don't want

just like a dinner. Yeah. Yeah. I think it's kind of boring. And I don't like I don't want to force people to have conversations they don't want to have. So it was kind of great. I love people bring them over. They wanted they could play whatever games they wanted. They got a little game free game cards. And it's like romped around. Yeah. We were all just like, ah, hey, I love you. It was great. That is fun. Yeah. Did you get any good gifts? Yeah. Yeah. Okay, moving on. Moving on. We'll be right back after the break. Today's episode is sponsored by the ASPCI Pet Health Insurance Program. You guys, my dog Leo is getting old. If you have kids, you understand that nothing in your house is safe. And I know that I just like redesigned parts of my house and I'm still worried about it. Like I'm so worried about them. Like, I'm also aware that I have kids, but I'm still worried about it. The couch, the rug, the dining chairs, the car seats, like somehow there's always food, the stroller, like the high chair, food gets stuck everywhere. Mystery stains, dirty shoes, something sticky. And I'm sorry, I just I just get overwhelmed by it even though you're like, I have kids and my house is now not going to be nice all the time. But I'm also constantly looking for solutions because it does happen. You know what I mean? And I've been using the green

mitt starter kit from Clean Safe Products. Okay, this is the exact kind of product that I need. Idiot proof. You text the word not skinny altogether. The number 60 per thousand. That's not skinny to 60 per thousand. Messaging data rates may apply. So it terms for details. And we're back. Okay. So let's go back to growing up. So Washington, I know you spend time in South Africa. Parents are from South Africa. Yeah. That's fun. Do you still go? I haven't gone in so long.

I really love to. I love that accent. I know. It's really beautiful. Do your parents have it? Yeah. Oh, they're both born from South Africa. Yeah. Oh, you did do like a cute little tic-tac way. You call your mom, right? Yeah. And she says every time I call her, I wish I had my phone. I'd do it right now. She goes, hello, my darling. Every time I have her. I wrote, she wrote, I'm my darling down. I got that tattoo. Oh, is that your new tattoo? That's an old tattoo. I got divine. On my own. Divine. Can you tell me? Like why? Yeah. Divine alignment. And very spiritual. And my I spend a lot of time with my healer. I you sound LA. Yeah. Yeah. Saying it out loud. I'm like, ooh, no, but tell me what it what is your healer do? You know, it's really, I think it's really difficult when you live in a place like LA. I imagine for New York too. I'm not sure. I've never lived here. But to stay like true to who you are and to stay aligned and stay like both feet in the ground, I think there's a lot of even like in the people that I surround myself with. It's hard to not get caught up in the like the way you feel about yourself aesthetically or like the values that you have, like changing over time. And so I think having somebody, she doesn't call a rato when I go

stay with her and call a rato for like, you know, three or four times a year. And we just sit and we talk and we talk and we talk. And I think having somebody that can really ground you like that and root you in like what really matters to you and like get to the get past all of the bullshit and get to the like what matters to the soul inside of that body more than anything else. And like to me, it's divine alignment, like knowing when something's fully aligned with me and like learning how to understand that. And I don't think I'm perfect at it. I think that's going to be a lifelong lesson. But even reading a script, it's like being able to delineate between is this good for my career or is it something that I genuinely feel I can't live without playing and like having that alignment throughout my career. I'm like both have to you want to check both the boxes. No, okay. The vinyl alignment. I want to feel aligned with what I'm doing. I don't good for my career. Okay. Is not a good enough reason to make a movie unless like I need money, which that can sometimes happen as an actor. But I really want to operate from a place of like, does this feel truly aligned to me even in my like personal choices like everything I do like trying to live from a place of alignment. It's not easy. I mean, there's obviously like external

forces at work, but I think that's so you talking about like LA in that way is so true. So hard. You can get caught up in that world. You can get caught up in like what matches everyone drinking today. Like let's all go to community goods. Like it's just so name dropping in LA is crazy. I don't I don't I mean, I'm sure you don't. And also the gossip culture. Like especially when you're an artist, like there's a lot of gossip culture just within like artists scripts. Like, oh, do you know this person? Like what's this like? And it's like shut up. Like if they wanted you to know you would know like becoming obsessed with other people's like lives is so toxic. Like get such a their own life. And I think the alignment stuff I really connect to because I even just had a situation where like everyone I worked with was like, don't don't do this. And I literally had to like just listen to me. You have to and it's really hard because then fear gets in the way. Of course. And fear also lives in your gut. Yeah. And it's hard to like figure out like is this fear is this instinct right? Yeah. And try not to operate from a place of fear as really as an anxiety written girl as we talked about. Same girl. Like it's tough. It's hard. So navigating that.

So this is a reminder of divine alignment. Yeah. Divine timing. Trusting timing. Knowing everything that's meant for you will come. What is your anxiety like? Is it more like you spin or is it like me too? And then I'll like after we leave here. I will for sure. My best friend and these in the other room. And I'll be like, what did I say? Tell me everything I said. Like she probably taking notes right now. I get really I get really anxious about just like. Is it sharing? Does it manifest physically too? Or just like yeah. Yeah. It's vulnerable. How do you like manage it? It's honestly has gotten better over time with the more time I spend away from this stuff. Oh yeah. Yeah. Like just not thinking about it and like not making this like not having my values live in things like this. No, no, no, she loves. By the way, I do love press. I love talking about my work. I love that, you know, people care. I think that's wonderful. But it's like making sure that my values don't align with like how many views this gets or what you have to say in the comment. Like that's where the values I think can totally get really tough. It's funny. Like when you

think people forget there's like a person in here. Totally. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? It's like when you see stuff online or whatever and it's like you can be on your phone and be like this is the all that matters. And then you turn off your phone or put it aside and you're with your family or friends and you're like. You're not outside and you're like there's so many things that are so much greater than me. And like it doesn't matter if it's not even on, you know what I mean? Like I have all this real stuff in front of me. Yeah. So wait, so part of the hippie thing I saw that your dad wanted to name you street. Yeah. Literally. Yeah. Yeah. They actually call me lane for that reason. Yeah. Oh. Yeah. Wait. You think you would watch Riverdale and say who plays Cheryl Blossom? Street patch. No. That's crazy. No, but I wait. So they did lane because they wanted some time. I'm always getting my dad like, oh, she's like, okay, fine. Like lane. Lane,

Madeline, lane on the road street. Oh, why are they obsessed with roads? They're not. I feel like they need to compromise. I'm like, we need some sort of pavement. My mom named my brother and he's older than me. Yeah. And she named him my dad's middle name. Which I thought it was like sweet. Obviously, he's gonna like that. My mom said you can name our daughter or whatever we have next. And she made that agreement long before she really thought about my dad. And then my dad was like, street. And she was like, no. Oh, she was trying to like be like, I'm come, I'm like, come from my name. Maybe I'm growing the whole baby and you like, you know, it's all up to me. I should be able to do everything. But look, it's yours too. Like you can feel included. So you're right. And not to compromise, ladies. Thank you. That's all you need to know. Okay. So yeah. So street patch. I mean, not that it's not cool. Look, but think about as a kid, like, oh, I was walking the street last night. Like, it's just like people would just be me. Like more mean. Yeah. It's like, why would you want to put your kid through that? I was supposed to be named Brittany, which isn't more or less exciting than Amanda. There's no story there. Okay.

So you go to high school and then do we're doing like, oh, you were started theater when you were like, what, five, five years old? I think I was like seven seven. But I started dancing when I was like four. And it came from like your just want to be in the spotlight. Really? So, Leah, thing, were you that kind of kid like home movies, singing, dancing? Yeah. I was like, guys, guys, I have another play for you. And I was making it up on the spot. Like, I don't pay attention to me. Yeah. Yeah. Also like the younger child syndrome is like a real thing. So they signed you up for, for like community theater dance classes, anything that would get me out of the house, basically, like that's artistic at any way it's shape-perform. And then did you have like a plan when you were in high school? Like when I finish high school, I'm gonna go. I told my parents when I was like 12, like I want you to prepare that I will be moving to LA when I'm an adult. And they're like, okay. And they're not, they don't know that that's like an impossible dream to have. You know, they're not from America. So they were like, okay, yeah, great. Sounds good. And by the way, thank God they were like naive enough, endelusional enough. My daughter will make it. Because otherwise, I feel like so many American parents that were around my parents were like,

can't believe you're letting her move to LA. Like you're gonna let her like tank her life. Right. I'm like, oh. And you're saying like because they weren't that like they had a clue in. They didn't even know like film and TV. Like that was just wasn't their thing. So they were like, yeah, sure, why not? I don't see why not. So I wonder how you got into it if like it wasn't around at home so much. I mean, I loved TV and film. And so at a young age, I was kind of gravitating towards that, but it just wasn't their thing. So like 18, you moved to LA by yourself. With my childhood bus friend. That's so crazy. Like I was crazy that her parents let her do it too. Because she was just like, guys, want to go. She's like no reason. Just along for the ride. Yeah. So what you ran a place and yeah, I mean, I'm lucky enough that my parents helped me, you know, a little as much as they could. But I worked three jobs when I moved to LA. I just like worked my jobs from Craigslist. It's crazy now. It's like when you're young, you really think that you're invincible. Like nothing bad is going to happen to me. And I'm a guy like I applied to a job to be like a personal home assistant for a couple like stuff that was like kind of stupid looking

back. And like how did I survive these experiences? Yeah. And come out like, you know, fairly unscathed. What was the plan though? I'm going. I'm going to find an agent. I had an agent in the manager already. How do you get? How do you find that? I did this thing called iPop, which I'm not sure if that's even still a thing. But it's called the international presentation of performers. And so you like you go and you basically perform for agents of managers. And then I got signed when I was 16. Okay. Yeah. And so then I stayed in I stayed in America. Sorry. And Washington state what my parents may be finished high school before moving to LA. But they let me come here. I went to an arts high school. So let me come here during pilot season every year as part of my credit. Oh wow. Yeah. Which was really great when pilot season was a thing guys. You might say I don't personally. But it means we saw that actors aren't having those experiences now. Why did it stop being a thing? Was it a COVID? I think it's an extreme thing because streamers put out TV shows year round. There used to be like a certain TV season. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Come out in September. They do pilots in January. They get picked up in May. They go to you know series in June. And

then they go on on you know either a mid season release, which is January or a season release which is September. Now shows come out year round. When you say it was experience I'm picturing it like a convention where you just like go to different rooms. Oh what I did. No like what pilot season in. No, it's not like that. All over LA. Okay. So it's just everywhere happening at the same time. Yeah. It's just in January. It was such a it's weird to kind of end right when Riverdale started. I think but it was such an experience. Wait did you get Riverdale from pilot season? I must have because it shot in the normal like windows. Okay. Although Riverdale was one of those like unique experiences where they took like eight months to cast where they actually like measure they got the people that were perfect for the job. Now it kind of sometimes feels like you're just getting thrown into a cattle call and watch stuff. And there's just not as much time. But I must have been pilot season. But I'm pretty sure I tested for Riverdale on September which wouldn't make any sense. 2000 and like six 15. No that's really spooky. Hey that's really spooky. That is that is the spookiest thing. Yeah. For two. It does not

be like 10 years and I mean I love it. Don't get me wrong. But when people are like I grew up watching you know I'm like so you're grown up now. Okay. You're like I was grown up then I guess. I guess so I'm like really grown up now. We so I keep asking myself like when am I gonna feel like a grown up. It's kind of like that just saying never but like maybe that's a good thing. It is a good thing. Yeah. I'm a mom and I have this thing that's like you can be a mom and still be a dumb bitch because like you can you know because you become a mom and like you're not like the dumb bitch you want. But that's exactly what I mean by that. Yeah. Yeah. Like you could still love the shit you you know what I mean. Yeah. Of course. Still be silly little yell. Yeah. So you get Riverdale by the timeline that we're talking about it sounds like not that long after you move. No. So I moved December 2012 and I had I had been pinned for Riverdale in September of 2015. For a character I didn't know existed. Like I knew no information about her. I actually I was reading for a different

show and David the cast director of that show who also did Riverdale was like you're kind of perfect for a pilot I'm doing. I'm gonna send you sides for a buddy. This is not the character I'm talking about but you just have to come in and re-betty like you're like the most villainous bitch on planet earth. And so I did but I didn't I didn't know anything about Cheryl. Well that's so funny. So you read for Lily's character who's like girl next door but in Cheryl tone that you didn't know because they had to they couldn't do the sides yet for Cheryl which is like the audition scenes basically. But why? Because they hadn't started working on that character yet. I was one of the first people they saw because they saw me for a different show and then he was like and then they pinned me which is like actor holds like you're you're basically being told like we're gonna get to you and like you're maybe gonna get the part. I didn't know how many people were pinned other than me. It was just me I found out later and then I came back and when they're ready to revisit Cheryl once they'd found Lily and they'd found I think Cole at that point. They started auditioning me as Cheryl. So this I feel like this did this teach you like go to every audition because you never know. I still learn that lesson by the way. If someone sees you

that you're good for something else. Yeah I mean when I do tape like sometimes I'm like I don't know I don't I don't see a version of this where it's like for me and then I send it and then I got a call it's like actually you remember it that wasn't for you but we're doing this other project that that is for you. Yeah. And so I think it's always good just to like especially when you're like you have like a month off or whatever you've got some time off it's just always good to like get your feet wet and just something else and like practice the craft honestly. But during Riverdale times this was not sending a tape this was all in person. It was all in person. Yeah it's such a different industry now. It's also a little bit of its charm. Right walking into a room. The nerves of that like you don't get to do another take if they don't want to. You might go five hundred and a dozen and they're like this isn't for us we don't want it. Right the tape you can fucking edit it till forever. Yeah. Wait so the first thing you did was a Coca-Cola commercial. We have to go that far back. But was it the first thing was that the first thing in the second was Riverdale? No I did a Honda commercial as well. Oh yeah she was booked in business. Yeah did

a Honda commercial did a Coca-Cola ad that was like on every Delta airplane or something I don't know a couple of movies and then I did Riverdale. Were you feeling like this is all gonna work out for me? Yeah wow. But I was also okay with like if this takes longer than two years or this takes five years whatever. As long as I'm doing what I love and I'm working on the thing that I think is right for me then I'll be happy is what I told myself at the ripe old age of 20. Yeah. I was like like I'm chasing my dreams. I got this. Well you know you hear so many stories of actors that did give themselves like a period like I'm doing this for a year if I don't then I'm. And that's always the last one before they're about to quit. It is. So you didn't have that you were like I'm I just I kind of just gotten to LA so I mean like two years is nothing and like an actor's lifespan. So I was like this is great. Yeah. And then when we got the pilot I was like cool a pilot like this is a well written I love this character like hopefully it goes to season and it was every season we're like hopefully it goes to season two hopefully it goes to season three and then by that point you're like okay we're like on this show that people watch. Seven seasons. Seven seasons. Right? Yeah.

Cheryl was also like I feel like you got to show like I know we got crazy and blah blah everyone like to talk about that but like you did get to show like a lot of different. I know. Things as an actor. I got really lucky with my character. She was always challenging. I was never bored. She was complex as fat like she started out villainous but like she also had secrets secrets and she also did have like you know a heart. Yeah she was layered in complex. So I know you know again people love to ask what the craziest thing you ever did was and you know for me it was like Gargoyle once the Gargoyle tree king came I was like you guys but when did you drop off watch it? I think Gargoyle I think I pushed through Gargoyle. Wow all by saying it good Gargoyle yeah. Gargoyle king. Yeah that's who he is yeah our king. I then I was like why are we I pushed because I really was so

into it I pushed through that's sweet but do you connect because I know a lot of your Cosmades too like you guys allow yourself to kind of poke fun at the crazy shit that went down but it's funny the other day camey Liliana and a group chat and somebody said this tick-tock that was like all the crazy things that happened over and we were all like we're so lucky we got to have this experience like there's we all made fun of it obviously because you have to be a part of the joke I even think our show on there was out on the joke he like he thought it was crazy and fun yes they would laugh at they we'd been crazy shit and he'd be laughing at table reads like it was supposed to be fun like I think there's a bit of like I'm gonna get into like a existential cinema thought but like I think we've lost a lead we come a little bit too literal with cinema lately where it's like I don't get how that happened and it's like it's not real right it's not it's not real what I'm doing right now and so I'm I think kind of letting them magic of like things not making sense as long as it's like within a certain degree like we don't have to over-explain things we have really smart audiences and I think Riverdale was leading in to just like the fun of of what film and TV can be it wasn't supposed to be this like really serious gripping

you know show about like saving lives I was gonna ask like if like the show runners or people part like do they like would they get upset if you got they they're in on it for sure okay Roberta would be sitting at table reads and like laughing he'd like oh my god who wrote that I'm like you wrote that you did wait that's so funny I'm trying to think of like an exact moment I think I think when I I sit season two I think it might be the opening season two when I crush my mom's breathing tube and I say if you breathe it's because I give you air or something he was dying of laughter and that's the thing is like that's what made it fun like at least the environment was not like oh my god people are talking so much should online it was like yeah our show is we know it's crazy I flew in the air with lasers coming out of my hands I know I saw that you were like that's the one thing I don't want to do and he did it yeah and honestly I might have given him the idea but that's the thing is he was like laughing it's like it's fun yeah and I think looking back now like when will I ever do literally any of that again right in my career when do actors have the chance to do things like that I mean that was quite the experience even

living probably in in Vancouver right for so long I just saw we were talking about Dylan's brows before that Kami said I think she bought him a ticket to see Cole because he was getting lonely she was saying yeah did you ever have any like loneliness out there you know the girls and I always were really close when I slowly Kami and I and most of the time we lived in the same building and we had keys to this apartment so it's like I'd see the location a bit I'm coming to your room like it was not yeah you know we we never like the girls I never fought like it was very how lucky to you guys get with that I was with Kami last night talking about that like we're so lucky like we're so lucky so lucky yeah that you became not only like oh we loved working together but like best friends well best fucking friends I know I saw both of them two weeks ago as a Kami last night I'm seeing her again oh yeah we're uh we're seeing each other again soon yeah so it's so fun and I'm really I'm really happy everyone also is obsessed with your friendship is the group chat still like redhead runat want it was ever called that oh okay why would people say that because we

would take talk named Blombu and at redhead oh there's a there's a joint tick talk oh because before any of us joined tick talk we were like let's just have a joint tick talk because like none of us came up with ideas back then we were all kind of like we don't really understand what this platform is yet and then we just did one together say that was the original tick talk we'd all post our own like individual tick talks on that one do you still post there we have okay maybe not in the last year maybe Halloween you will maybe Halloween you will are you planning a Halloween during costume potentially who's the most in taloan I saw Kami said she me yeah I am the like leader of Halloween that is my thing yeah sure I am and I was like we hear the ideas what do we think are we gonna do are we all in town roll call it September what's up but then does every girl have to like kind of create her own like you decide together but like then do I have to like get it tailored like I have I have a costume designer that I call I say this is what we're doing and then they make sketches and they send it to us and then the girls approve their costumes and then we continue moving forward I do it's really important to me I love Halloween always and it's always and I've

always loved being like other things and I've always loved exploring other characters and stuff so it's like it was a day I could do it when I wasn't an actor when I was just still a kid yeah but yeah no I mean the girls don't really care about Halloween so it's like I'm gonna give you the one who cares about it the most then I should be the one who like leads the charge I love that easy sign fucking off we'll be right back after the break you guys know what's back on Vulu right now as we speak when you're done with this podcast hop on Hulu and put on the all new season of the secret lives of Mormon wise okay you guys season five is here okay a shocking revealing tea dropping season with these women of mom talk these girls start out by making TikToks and now look at them okay we don't even know where this group stands we've heard rumors now we're gonna clear the air we're gonna hear the gospel whose friends whose not friends are their friendships loved while mom talk even survive this what's happening with this drama Whitney's in New York on

it stuck with like silters and stuff and guess what they have there you guys a Starbucks rubbish you know drink it was like oh it's like that kind of moment like I couldn't believe it I was like did I bring this here like how do you have this it was mocha flavored and it was absolutely perfect I was so happy because you had a lot of people over and I needed like kind of a break for a second sometimes I get a little like social anxiety so I literally like took the glass bottle and walked down to like the street so suburban so different than my usual in New York City scenery and I was just sipping on my Starbucks Frappuccino all right it was so good it was what I needed it was the midday pick me up plus the little sweet indulgent just moment of joy in a crazy day with the kids you know what I mean and it's just I love having Starbucks Frappuccino drinks like in my fridge ready to take on the go to offer to guests and like me being the guest in that scenario being offered this I was just like yes that's exactly what I'm saying how nice is it to have this right now also nobody wants to make you a coffee imagine I was like make me a coffee

is like no I have one bottled in the fridge anyway fine bottled Starbucks Frappuccino drinks wherever you buy your gas or groceries and we're back both camion lily expressed like dealing with body images she's on Riverdale what was it like for you being on a CW show at that time with like beauty standards I'm sure it's much worse now to be on TV now I mean I was telling you I think we were I don't know if we were rolling or not but it is tough to like deal with the beauty standards these days in Hollywood and I'm in Hollywood like I have a hard time where I'm like man should I go get like Botox I mean I've never had Botox I've never had a needle in my face it's also hard you look so good thank you thank you that's really kind it's it's tough you want the movement you need it the reason I froze this because I got Botox yes that's good by the way like I didn't get Botox I was like in my mind like I got it yesterday by the way if I wasn't an actor I probably would do yeah I need expression yeah look at these you know I need those you need to know what I'm concerned

right yeah so I get it but I yeah I mean look it was obviously hard there's like CW shows were like where you had to be like hot and young and fit and or definitely I definitely had some highs and some lows on that show for sure yeah it's hard when you're younger too I'm sure like as you get yeah older and you're more like do you feel like as you get older you become kind of more confident in who you are too like as a person and I think that's such a case by case basis like for myself like for you I meant yeah yeah yeah I definitely think so like with the right work and I'm really into somatic therapy it's kind of what changed my life somatic yeah tell me what that is I'm not going to be able to define it the way that my therapist would like rock with me but she always has emotions or energy in motion so she like has me work through things through my body so breath work I movement like kind of releasing like actual trauma in my body through like CBT which is cognitive behavioral therapy so talk and then also movement breathing I movement it kind of releases like stored emotion in your body I should probably do that sometimes like when I'm anxious

and I do the box breathing it makes me more anxious because I'm focusing on the breath and I'm like you're breathing weird you know so I feel like I should probably do that with somebody so I know so it doesn't happen to me I'm really into it well you're really like working on your like you're like you have the healer your therapy doing all this shit like you're I love self care and all that's our usually the most important thing to me I also think like it makes me a better artist to understand myself better yeah why wouldn't I I think get curious and stay curious specifically about yourself and you'll never be bored but also be curious about other people I mean you are every day that's your job right so you operate from a place of like curiosity which I think goes keeps you young yes and interested and I'm interested in and other people yeah I also saw it take that you did with Mr. fantasy hmm big fan do you teach him how to drive I did he did not drive it was a mess we was it a stick shift or I can't get it so I imagine we're learning together you taught him how to drive a regular car yeah what are his teeth like they're really rough they're

really rough they're crazy yeah they look crazy and person are you gonna do more collabs with Mr. fantasy I was in this video oh shit yeah it was a big deal it is a big deal I was really excited to be out you think we're gonna get more stuff from him I imagine so he's crushing it you had just went on tour didn't he he did yeah and I get to go but I think he I think people like love it yeah you girls seem to to love him we are really big fans Mr. Feats it's crazy it just happened really randomly so I know just to close out Riverdale we said I'm not gonna do the question of what was the craziest thing yet shoot I know I know what the least crazy thing I had to share I want to know the the most the best memory you have from it yeah such a sweet question what's coming to mine right now is the last day like there were two last days of season seven where there was like the entire major cast like every person sang a bi and then there was like the last day we're like Lily and I worked together on the last day because people had to go that second to last day where everybody was saying goodbye everyone had written these beautiful speeches to say goodbye could

be the same crew for seven years and it was just this like I mean I remember I took a video of an S&I when they were not on our coverage and this big seam where everybody's in it and it was kind of written for us to all say goodbye we were everybody was sobbing off camera and it's like I think it's such a unique experience for everyone to be so connected at their soul level that when they're finishing a show that was like a lot of high epic highs and epic lows it's for everyone to really feel so sad about its ending knowing it's the right time but like really just be like man we're not gonna see each other every day I think that was probably one of my favorite memories of that show I love that it is a unique experience right that we talked about like maybe doesn't even happen like that anymore I don't know if I've got as close anymore because they're not up somewhere for 10 months of a year and a random location right it's three to four it's a very different experience it's a different experience and then the next thing was strangers the strangers yes which also was a unique shooting experience right because you shot the three cross portage okay so what does that mean all at the same time so like I would do movie one in the

morning movie three in the evening yeah why did it shoot like that from a creative reason for like a time budget kind of everything it kind of worked in our favor obviously for budget reasons we're not going back and forth a lot yeah crew you can get it done faster so that was a perk but also like as an artist the movie takes place over three days all three sorry all three movies take place over three days so if I had shot movie one seen how it done how seen how it had done and then like they decided to go back a year and a half later I'm having to get back in the face of exactly where I ended the last movie yeah that's tough not changing my hair and anything about myself right and then audience members would be like mmm her hair looks different or you can tell she like she got more tan before this one not that I get tan but you don't mean like I was tan for a movie for a maintenance required but it was not a spray tan they it was like a fake tan they put on me every day oh cuz like oh she works on cars she'd be tan yeah yeah like I didn't really like like I would never be tan in real life so like you know but I just wanted to look different are you like an SPF queen honestly like I should be I just don't go into sun oh you just don't go like

I'm more of a like look at it from outside kind of first are you a beacher pull person beach you're a beach person I like the ocean but I'm brella I'm brella like a setup I have a full set up I have a long sleep shirt like I'm like I'm half the way at the beach literally you know what I'm talking about I mean I think she has UV clothing on which is really impressive okay you don't go that far no I probably showed though I'm really sensitive to the sun and this you produce right so tell me about the producing side did you get to like see the like be in on the edit and everything like that oh wow yeah it was a really cool experience Courtney Solomon who produced those movies I wasn't a producer when I was offered it and then I kind of I pulled up this lavaccia and I was like hey hey hold up this lavaccia what I'm and I was like I have some thoughts if you guys want them if not like I'll go fuck myself it's all good like I'm here to do my job yeah but they'll let's hear them and then I re-wrote all the scripts of Courtney in the lock yeah every night we'd change the script which it worked in our favor because there was no other actors in the movie really like the strangers don't talk very much so it wasn't like I

was like boning other actors like giving them lines the next day so we could like really work on it that night and he just gave me a lot of creative autonomy which was also an experience I had on Riverdale and I learned like the three the two girls and I like we really like learned producer real qualities on that show because there was so much autonomy in our characters and so we like naturally felt these producer real roles and then I went into the strangers and I'm just so used to having like autonomy which is such a lovely thing as an artist that I was okay I have thoughts are they celebrating that there is not okay and they're like no please and then we just like worked on it and I think it was think that on Riverdale you dead like it's all like I can write story lines but like I could call Roberto and say our showrunner I'm be like I don't think my character would ever do that be okay let's talk about it yeah yeah which is a really rare experience in TV he trusted that at the end of the day we knew our characters more and between seasons one two and three he was like is there anything that you've always wanted to do that you've never done you know they'll ask me that and I was like I want to do archery and he's okay great next he's new doing archery it was like that oh my god I love Roberto what's he up to now oh he's genuinely one of the best humans on planet earth they're doing the afterlife with Archie show oh cool yeah and he used to write the afterlife with Archie comics in Archie aka KG yeah but not KJ

but not KJ Archie Andrews so I know that like it ended and everything but like you guys love each other so much like what a reunion thing ever could ever happen like a friend's type one it's kind of crazy because it's like I can't even imagine I mean it only ended three three years ago so right now that feels like really crazy to think about right I more prefer all of us going to Vancouver and seeing our crew again like that's more interesting to me let's go sit and hang out people I spent every day with three years I'm always advocating for movies to shoot in Vancouver because I'm like I got my list exactly like let's go see my people yeah again never say never I'm not like a post to it so you're saying you were a horror girly before you became a horror actress wow I watched every horror film on my local blockbuster when I was a kid so like did you love the bad oddly and I know she did last summer honestly those weren't my favorites I had more deep cut favorites than that what would tell me oh my god I've only watched one of these once but I remember them very I have them on a high pedestal as a child but don't take me the conjuring I loved

okay that was an incredible film I still think that's an incredible film this movie called Blacksheep as a vegan this is way more it's deep cut yeah it's deep cut blacksheep is about uh sheep killing humans which makes sense for me but like we're talking about like franchises saw oh yeah oh yeah top top for me oh yeah they're making saw 11 and the way that I harass lines gate like let me be the first kill like let me I just want to be in saw 11 because it's like it's one of those bucket listings for me did it happen and I haven't shot it yet they're still writing it so I harass them all the time what you do lines gate like hey guys so when am I when am I gonna be put in the movie of yours yes this isn't like a career thing necessarily good for my career or not I need to be in saw 11 put her in saw 11 wait they're listening baby you saw 10 of course on by the way tens incredible 10 really it didn't get worse as it went on let me explain to you now she's not gonna say because no no no no no let me explain first of all to text don't be crazy saw 10 happens between saw one and saw two so they brought back to them bell who plays jigsaw it's really smart it's cool

you're bringing me back you need to go rewatch all of them I it was this maybe scary but yeah I guess we don't have that as much anymore because again people are like oh it's you know people that like they're like it's stupid concept like it would happen it's like right it wouldn't happen today right right watch it it's a movie speaking of when happened today I saw the trailer for American horror story who knows maybe that would happen today that I don't even know what's happening and which is who knows who knows we see you in the trailer we know you're in it so you can't deny we see you let me think about the clothes we see a third a shirt with 13 okay go as anything on that I know I'm allowed to say I played Joey Polaris girlfriend who plays Ben who's like the centrifugal force of the of the season okay and this girlfriend okay and we see you on a plane my plane something is going down and that's right on the plane something's a 13 shirt I think that's literally all the those are the context clues we have in that so but it's coming

out September 24 so we don't have to wait that long to print out and the first three episodes come out on September 24 oh fun yeah what was it like joining this franchise for you this was one of those bucket list things for me yeah is it an email that you wrote I mean I'm pretty sure I've said in numerous interviews like Ryan Murphy really I'm pretty sure I'm such a big fan of his I was like kind of starstruck when I met him I was like guys that's my movie and he directed me which was so cool that and that doesn't happen for everyone I don't know okay I got to have that experience and I think that's like one of those things that I really wanted to check off my bucket was such a big fan of his so it was just one of those things where I was like how could I not want to do this iconic show that I grew up watching like I loved murder house season one is in like a perfect season of television in my opinion and yeah it was like a bucket list thing I've always wanted to be on American Horror Story did you get the call and then freak out I was really really really really excited yeah and I'm shot in New York it shot here I was like it was such a cool experience and also I've never

I've never oh I can't say that I've never I've never I've never I've never I've never fill in don't fill in I don't want the energy to fill that on okay how fun was it shooting it and working with all who did you can tell no no okay well you could tell like we see who is on the season I mean I never met Joey before the sweetest thing I had so much fun with him it was really fun she's a fun character is this the first time you've had to keep like kind of a secret that you feel like you can't reveal stuff no Riverdale way to go all the time oh yeah to like right about like story line oh really only if you're in the scene you get the pages kind of a thing yeah and shooting in New York for American Horror Story is it like how aren't there like paparazzi on there are sometimes yeah okay I'm pretty sure it leaked that I was in that like weight earlier than they wanted it to I don't I don't know yeah I honestly don't know but I feel like people knew long before anybody announced it which was kind of crazy other stuff is coming up

that I don't know that you're gonna have to tell me like what up with it right what up with that sure you're gonna have to tell me what up with that okay pretty babies it just premiered at a brawl yeah did you go I didn't I just wrapped a movie like three years before with that same director oh wow which was so cool and she was like I'm getting on a plane as a quesad you're the filmmaker you should be there I love you and I'm supporting it from afar and this seems it's like a it's a film about 18 year old best friends who traveled to California chase their dreams of Hollywood start um hmm only to get pulled into the dark underbelly of the sex work and the I'm part of that I'm not the 18 year old you're part of the dark underbell I am the dark underbelly of the sex industry you're the sex worker yeah I tried to I tried to entice them into my world oh wow and this is the film you worked with the Sadie you were saying yeah yeah she plays the one of the she plays one of the young girls yeah where can we do you know what's what what happens okay after premieres at a film festival what's the next that was obviously different like you can be in competition but already have distribution or be there for both or be there just for distribution we were there for both and we are feeling off as we're in a

distribution wise I'm not a producer I just like love that movie and I really believe in that filmmaker and the producers behind it's Christine Vashon I killer films and Jordan Wagner who like is such a filmmaker champion like it's it's really cool to work with people like that and they really involve me which I'm really thankful for it so we're just building some offers right now to see where it goes but I'm helping you know early 2027 would be amazing because I really love that movie it's it's really special to me I got to like go back to dance routes and I I like became a very in like 10 stripper and you got on some poles I had so many bruises shooting that movie it was crazy I did real like I was like I have to be good at this this character has been doing this for like 10 years I have to be good so you took pole yeah I found a I found a stripper and I said can you teach me like what it's like to work in a club can I come to your club can I watch you can I like and I like shadowed her and then she taught me like what she would actually do on a pole versus going to pole dancing she was incredible she's also a DP she's such a badass I'm obsessed with her wow which is a DP on the no she's a DP in life and she also strips oh wow she's so fucking cool I love that no she's the she's the baddest bitch and I still train with her we still do pole dancing just because I love it so much and you get to where you need

to be strong for that chat I was actually pretty impressed that I like had the upper body strength I had I didn't know so like hold my body yeah that's hard was really really really fun Ashley Benson is in a two I love her yeah she's great okay and then there's chasing red is that happening it's been shot okay I have no idea what's happening with that okay this is the movie world that's why I'm like you need to tell me what up with that yeah okay is there anything else I'm missing that's in the works I wish I never had sex with him I just shot that movie yeah we're we're I think it right now I love the title thank you it sounds so fun it's really fun it's a wish for film a movie you're like the the main character you're like an editor she got there yeah yeah yeah and I find out that I can go back to the last end of my 20s over and over again to like become this perfect version of myself for a guy and then ultimately she learns you know like lessons and things like that but it's a really sweet wish film a movie that doesn't like the devices and explained it's just like jump into the world enjoy the world this is where we are and this is so different because I'm assuming American horror story was a quick thing right it was like you get it

you shoot it it comes out like quicker than oh yeah like the turn around and you I think they already knew when I was coming out because of course that would come around Halloween so it was kind of like yeah we knew it was I knew it was coming out right and with this there's stuff that you've worked on for months trained for all this stuff and you're like I don't know I shop pretty babies and I think I wrapped like September second of last year okay and we're and okay let's cross our fingers that we know what's going to happen okay let's do a few quick cues right this was chill this was chill thank you thank you we're friends okay are you still vlogging on YouTube but no you were such a YouTube girl I know actually deleted all my videos it's very controversial wait okay I thought something was like wrong because I went and it was like all like statuses and I'm like am I a boomerard like I don't know what's happening why is it no just why do you delete I think like those were that was my 20s and it was a very public 20s and I just wanted to like feel a little bit more like I had autonomy over my privacy got you like maybe you shared some stuff there that

not even that just more like it was just like you know it's felt like I wanted it was what felt right to me at the time okay I know that I get a lot of flak for that and I am sorry I took them down but because it because it was maybe they'll go back up there's archive by the way babe I think like you're like maybe like with a pdf camera remember it's like actress slash youtuber lit that's it right now like look at the people coming out of YouTube but that's what I'm saying that you were like you got to that level on youtube where it was like I know I'm gonna leave it to the mall but no you never know I still know by the way maybe the videos are deleted but the YouTube is there other archive what's the biggest misconception about you maybe my height all right I'm much shorter than you expect me to be I'm not gonna accept that answer okay what what do you think you've just met now with me what's the biggest misconception about me I try I try not to think about things like that it makes me really sad oh you're thinking in a negative way oh yeah like what else would I okay I get what you're saying what would people be surprised to learn about

you that I'm actually funny my drop people think you're not funny I don't know I don't know I think I think people will be surprised to learn that and my my perception of people's perception of me not you to be perceived is what a what a beautiful thing is that people don't think I'm funny but that is that kind of like the the main personality trait I lead with every day your sense of humor is like dry right very like self-destructive yeah yeah yeah yeah why do you think my Instagram is Madalaine okay first of all why is oh Madalame I'm lame Madalame Madalame fucking Regina right I asked you I was like I wonder why your Instagram is that and I was like I'm gonna ask her and you were like I'm into self-deprecation first of all I love that maybe that's the maybe because people think it's made lame or like I'm like maybe that's how you say your name Madalame Madalame you made that up for yourself okay I'm gonna be honest this guy in high school used

to call me Madalame I all out as a bullying you I think maybe it was maybe it a crash I'm not quite sure we never got that far but he would call me Madalame all the time and he were like and then I made my Instagram in high school and I was like whatever like I'm never gonna use this thing like I'll make it Madalame did you ever think to change it to your name you know when I whenever they all got kind of big my old team was like you kind of change it to Madalame patch and I was like I'm not doing that sick well it's just like it feels so like a serious like official it's like I don't want my Instagram to be so serious like it's not like a work page like I'll share my works from time it's been most of the time I'm like just posting random dumps I am obsessed that it's Madalame and I wouldn't have known like I am so happy that we got to that fascinating okay first celebrity crush I have a really good answer for this hold on oh Angelina Jolie bye bye sorry I just had a clip of it's not gone girl I'm moving girl interrupted right best movie best movie and I just look at her and I'm like it's like this yeah it's

like that the biggest dick sandals on men yes agrees a dream role next dream role since American horror story was a dream oh oh saw 11 oh my god I was gonna say poison ivy was kind of more like a love and it's cooler and then poison ivy yeah no everyone knows my poison ivy things all 11 okay love you thank you so much for listening to this episode of Notz Kinney but not fat follow me on instagram at notz Kinney but not fat subscribe to the podcast you don't miss any episodes rate the podcast that you love so much on apple podcast and write a little review if you tell me you did I'll give you a big virtual smoocheroo thank you guys so much for listening and I'll see you next Tuesday please note that this episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services individuals on the show may have a direct or indirect financial interest in products or services referred to in this episode
