Crystal Geyser Alpine Springwater Always bottled at the Source. At Vista Print, we know you've got that idea for your business, like the one that nails
the trade show, levels up your brand, or makes your team say, we're really doing this. But an idea is just an idea until it's printed on signage. Giveaways, custom apparel. Once it's in my hands, on my team, out in the world. Then it's a happening. It's so happening. Vista Print has thousands of products, easy design tools, and real support to turn that idea into something possible. And you're possible with code new20 for 20% off your first order at VistaPrint.com. The blue jeans about that. Right. If the bid is high enough, I'm sure they'll send us. Wow. You want to go back to Florida? No, but what they call it, we'll be snowbirds. Snowbirds. We'll be snowbirds. Would you want to visit Jacksonville again? No. Anywhere else in Florida, except Jacksonville. Not as fair place. When people think of Florida, they think of Orlando. Or Tampa, Miami. Yeah. When you, like, and I'm going to say this in a way that you really have to read between the lines. But Florida is, it is, they're stuck in a, they're stuck in a time machine.
I think I know what you mean. And then a good one. This is one like them 50s and them 60s. Well, North Florida comes across as more of like the south than Florida. Yeah. Yeah. North Florida seems like it's all place. Dead or dead. Because Jacksonville is pretty north up in Florida, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's real. Yeah, it's this difference. So you don't want to go back. Okay. We're not going to make you. All right. 215-592-9494. Before we go back to the phone lines, here are a couple things. So Jason Kelsey was on with us a few minutes ago. And he was talking about this new offense, right? The new blocking scheme and how he's admired it from afar and all the things you could do and how it's going to take advantage of athletic offensive lineman. It also, to me, was a necessary switch because he, he, the Eagles became so predictable out of the shotgun offense. It just was too easy to defend. So the point where it felt like other players and teams kind of knew it was coming all the time. That was, that was said here by Micah Parsons who's talked about how the Eagles were those to. He lying. I mean, he, he long talked it. Well, he doesn't, he doesn't talk. He has a podcast.
Yeah, he long talked it, but, but when you're, say certain formations, like eye formation, you got to process a lot of information because that, that could be first and foremost, you got to stop the run because that's a, that's like a power formation. Sure. And then you go 12 personnel. That's more of a formation for, for running the ball because you got the two extra blockers from the line. And that's here. We're going to see a lot of that this year. So it's, it's one of those things as a defensive lineman. You got to read your keys. You got to go, it's almost like you're hesitating because number one, you know, it's not a passing down because on passing downs, you want to get off the ball first. You want to be the first, when the ball moved, you want to be moving because you want to try to get that jump on offensive line. But when you're in 12 personnel, then you got that tight, say if I'm playing defensive in and I got that tight in right there, I'm looking for two things. I'm looking for a double team or I'm looking for like a scoop block, you know what I mean? Or something like that. I try to turn you. Try to turn me and get the edge. So my job is as a defensive lineman, if they're double team, I can't, I can't collapse
on the double team because the linebacker's probably scraping over the top. So I'm trying to keep both of those guys and at the same time, I'm trying to do that. And I'm trying to run sideways because I got, like, say, of haluses right there. I got the tank coming because he's he's flowing this way. The real house, not the real, the real holluson. Everybody's flowing this way because that's where it looks like the play is going. We call it elephants on parade. So you got to keep the line because if, if they look at it like this, if somebody's out of their gap, that's a run lane. That's what say Kwan is looking for. He's looking for that run lane. So we got it. We got to be running down the line, holding those blocks, trying to stay in that hole so that they can't give a short corner so that the linebackers can't scrape. But if you're in shotgun, 90% of the time, you're probably throwing it if it's a back back there, I'm going to take my chances getting to the quarterback. I'm going to rush the pass on the way to the running back. That's how to speak. So that's what I'm going to do. So he's right. It feels like the Eagles went from easy to defend to now more complicated to defend.
But now, and not only that, Joe, you're talking about the fact that we have a new offense, regardless of what we think is going to look like. When you go into that game, that first game, and you see Jayland on the center and you don't know it, you got to wait and see what's going to happen. You have to wait and see how they're going to attack you. That's why in the first couple of games, I don't think it's hyperbolic. You say they score a lot of points because you don't know how they're going to attack. You don't know what's going to work. You don't know what their offense is. You don't know what kind of sets they're going to come out in. They're all guessing. And the only thing you can go off of, I'm assuming if you're a defense coordinator, you're going to look at the offense of the Green Bay Packers that coach Mann was a part of when he was there. The funny thing is with so many teams have a new coordinator. It's the first month the season could look wild. It could have, it could be one or two things to you. There could be a lot of points because no one knows what's coming or it could be all these teams are kind of off because they haven't, they're just all new to them. So the commanders have a new offense, new defense, Eagles, obviously have a new offense. It's most the league now that is kind of brand new to start this season. Two, one, five, five, nine, two, ninety, four, nine, four.
Let's go to the phones and then I do have an update. I think people will be interested in this. You, the athletic has concluded its investigation into Diana Rossini after all that, you know, stop. Well, we'll talk about it coming up. Let's go to David and Drexel and Hugh. Dave, Dave. Hey, how you doing? Good to see you. I got a message with you. I'm part of it there. First of all, go ahead, David. With Jaylen Hurts, right? And I'm just looking on the computer right now. I didn't even realize that it's only three quarter, no, four quarterbacks in the entire league that had great seasons last year. Only got three. That means 28 or more touchdowns. They score in the game last year. And Jay and Hurts don't want everybody to say he had 25 and a thinking year. So you should be right, Hugh. They're going to score. I believe what you say here because I can easily see them scoring two, three passing touchdowns between Jaylen and Bartley. If Jaylen runs again, Dave won't get one or two. So I easily see him reaching your level. We agree on something. I'm like, yes, me and you finally finally, finally, finally. Yeah, I'm glad you guys found out that she doesn't close it.
We had beef before in the past. You guys, you guys are good now. We did. Going back to Bras Shaw, right? To still curtain. Franco Herrard, the receivers. He was on a super bowl team. I mean, Dave was all great. Didn't you take patchwork at home? Dave was talking about one of the best teams in the last 30 years. They were going to do a three P. He was on a superstar team. Brady, a superstar team coach while I receivers tight. So why is Jaylen the only one they say benefited from a superstar team? Well, I don't think he's the only one that benefit. I think Terry Bradshaw did. I'm trying to say it feels like the line has been moved because it's Jaylen. But I don't agree. David, does anyone put Terry Bradshaw? Terry Bradshaw's got three championships. There was a four. Is that four? He played on a great right. But David, I agree. But nobody thinks he's one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. Like his name has even come up because I know a lot of time. Now here. It is. I think I actually think Terry Bradshaw, Jaylen hurts as a Terry Bradshaw of this era.
Four rings he has. It's kind of an interesting comparison for them. Because he played with a great team, but Terry Bradshaw, I don't think anyone puts it in the same mix as Patrick. Patrick, my home's last two years. And they gave him more money because he's the best player in pro football for the past five or six or seven years. That's the last two years. Sure. Okay, I agree with you. His play. Jaylen was one at a top. No, he's not. He's not. You don't think Jaylen went to two Super Bowls to play also every year. He's not a top player. Mm-hmm. Wow. But Patrick, my good home's is. Yeah. And he had the greatest tight end. Yeah. He had a superstar defense because think about this. He won two Super Bowls or field goals because the team had a great defense to stop the other team. He also, he's also thrown for 50 touchdowns and 5,000 yards in seasons. Like how many interceptions he throw for? Because you forget that. No, I don't forget that. He threw for 22. David, yeah, every time he threw me at it, interception. David, I love you. And I agree with you. The Patrick's home is not played as well the last couple of years.
But like the idea that Patrick, my home's hasn't been one of the best players of all time. And Jaylen hurts is. Let me close with you. Let me ask y'all both this. What? Didn't they always say, and I'm only pushing close to 70, but they always used to say to be the best you had to beat the best. That's for boxing. David, that's for boxing. That's for one on one competition. No. Yes. It is for regular. Hold on. Hey, here, and it closing. Can I ask y'all one more question? Yes, of course. Yes. They were arguing on your station about his switch in a little bit about who was the goat and they was saying Michael Jordan or LeBron, and this old lady just 80 years old. Guess what? She told me to boo my mind. What she said? Because I used to argue with Sunny Hill about Wil Chamberlain. She told me why he was better. And I was like, and I used to always argue that Karin was better than him. But guess what she said? What she said? That he played in a time where it was like racism and sports, the integration that put him to score 50 a game or 100 that meant that everybody had to like him on the team.
And we do an aero and that's fantastic for a guy in the 60s to have a team throw him the ball that much and it blew my mind when she said that that he helped change in transition sports because it was dominantly a white team and it passed him the ball a lot. Well, they recognize they must they want the win. They recognize he's the man, right? He's the best player. David, that's smart on there. They was like, we don't even want y'all on the team, some people. And it helped them broke the lines. And that was a beautiful thing. So he says across as she listens to y'all too across from my home. So God bless her and God bless you guys. Well, you too, David David. David, we appreciate you man. Great phone call. I like David a lot. I forget when you guys argued last time. David's great. We argued before. I mean, he seems to think you did. Well, if we did, David, I don't recall it. So it wasn't that bad. So you know what, David? We probably wasn't disagreeing. And you won the argument, David. Not here. Well, David's argued with a bunch of other hosts and stuff like that. Not just you. Yeah. Yeah, it's probably me. I love David though. All right. Let's, um, before I give you the results of the athletics investigation into Diana Rousini,
Tom in Downing Town, he says he has breakfast if he wins the bidding. And he's got breakfast. We might be coming to your house. Tom, Tom, what's up? Hey, you, hey, Joe. How you doing? Good. Tom, what's going on? How about pancakes, healthy, scrapbook, baking and sausage? Scratch. Yeah, you had me a pancakes. What a scrapbook. You never had scrapbook? Yeah. It's a very pencil-vanguette. No, I know it's a pencil-vanguette thing, but I don't know if you want to know, like, literally, literally. No, I do. Because it sound like you had literally no. Scraps will come from a pig, and they use everything except the oil. The root of the pig. Yeah, it's the scrap, like the scraps and the trimming. Yeah. And like everything else that's left over, they put it in the scrapbook. From the root of the tutu, you got it. Are you grind it up? Yeah. It's great. And it's great. It gets you going. Yeah. I mean, I'm not trying to be picky, but you can probably. If Tom cooks a scrapbook, you got to eat the scrapbook. We can probably try it.
We can probably try the scrapbook here. Do it without that. You can try the scrapbook. Oh, there it is. But I appreciate it. I appreciate the effort. The paper. The paper. The paper. The paper. I like paper. Tom, you had me a pancake. Oh, the blueberry pancakes are the best. This is the best. Tom, what are you thinking on the Eagles? I'm loving the Eagles. I got them down at 12, and they're going to blow one. My son has it down at 11, and he's going to reach the ball that I put. But you just were talking about defense. Yes. How you are a little taken aback or not as aggressive when the quarterback's under center. That's what it's going to do. And the Eagles defense, tell me what's different than two years ago. You got big fans. You know, you got a super ball defense. Are they better than saying they can't be worse than two years ago when they want a
super ball. Well, so it's a good question, Tom. I, well, okay, they were great. And Tom Gray-Funkah, he said they can't be worse. I mean, they were the best defensive profile. That's a very high bar. I think they could be close to again being the best defensive profile. Like when I think of the best defensive, I think the Eagles, the Texans with Tameco Ryan's have historically been a great defense last few years. Seattle was probably the best last year and they're going to return most of those players. So I would put those teams in the mix, but can they be quite as good as two years ago? That's a high bar, but jail X is getting more into is like becoming more of a vet, right? Jordan Davis is better than he was two years ago. Yeah, the one thing I don't think we've talked about a lot this summer. To me, the key to them being like two years ago, are they going to get the great jail and Carter season? Right. He got his contract. He's great. We know last year he wasn't. If you tell me right now, he's the jail and Carter we saw in the playoffs two years ago. I think it's the best defensive football. You know, it's funny and I was just thinking about this while we were talking. When you talk about one of the better defenses, and I say this would all do respect because
I think it's a it's a it's a let's clear the air about hybrids with Kia. I live in Pasadena. So my Kia tell you ride turbo hybrid has to do a little of everything. Kudos to Coach Fangio is that you're doing this without a, I guess for lack of a better way of saying it, a bona fide air rush. You're right. You know what I mean? When you talk about, when you talk about those defenses that we've been talking about, we're talking about the Rams defense. We talk about the Texans defense. You talk about Dallas defense. You're talking about air rushes because what's the young, the young, uh, J. Sean Barham, the young guy that, the third round draft picked up the Dallas Cowboys of God.
They talk about him glowing endorsement of him as, as linebacker. So when you talk about that, now Jaylic's hunt could, he could be that because when you talk about the entity had last year, but when you talk about being one of the better defenses, and you have been one of the better defenses for the last three years, you've basically done it with a different individual almost every year on the edge. Yeah. On the edge. Yeah. Phillips last year. I guess they're paying Grenard to be that guy. So I mean that, that big head coach, Fangio has done a tremendous job of getting the most out of the guys that he's given. I, because he doesn't have a, he doesn't have as of right now, as of today, as of today, if you look at it, since he's been here, he hasn't had a consistent edge rush. I guess he makes up for it with Carter and Davis, Bond, smart players, and, and Queen Young and Cooper have been outstanding players, right? Smart players, smart players, and it's obvious that in his defense, his biggest thing. Yeah, you got to, you got to know how to play it.
You got, you got to be a baller, but you also have to know what to do. You know, that's what it kind of feels like to me when you, when I hear people talk about Vic and how they talk about Vic, the teaching aspect of it is really big for him. Well, he doesn't put you in the field if you don't know what to do. All right, quickly here, I did say the athletic finally has its investigation wrapped up here with Diana Roussini. She did. Well, here's what they said. This is from ESPN's story on, on the athletics findings. Diana, so former, I was reading, former athletic reporter Diana Roussini's relationship with Mike Vrable violated newsroom standards, but showed no clear bias towards the New England Patriots head coach, in court, into findings of an internal investigation. The quote that they put out, the editorial director said, Roussini's relationship with Vrable was in clear violation of the athletic standards, regardless of whether the relationship was romantic, it was a breach and should have been disclosed. They also apparently combed through all the stories she wrote for them, podcasts, appearances, like how many times she mentioned him, wrote about him, he, clearly they, I mean, they
moved on from her. So, but they, they thought what, it didn't matter to them what she actually was doing, the fact that they were that close, that was a no-no. Yeah, you can't do that. Yeah, whatever it was that they did, you can't do that. Yeah, well, I mean, she's not been with them for a couple of months, so I'm not super, but it did take a, it did, no, no, I mean, with the athletic. Oh, you, what? I don't know. I'm talking about the athletics findings of their report. When you said, like that, Joe, I was like, that's as far as we know, I was just saying. Yeah, I mean, as far as I know, I mean, I don't know. I mean, we can guess, but we're not going to do that right now. All right, coming up. Yeah, that's what we do. All right, coming up. We'll get to you, people and your calls. It is the midday show on sports radio, 94 WIP. I love it. You nailed it. Yeah, I couldn't remember the, uh, wait a minute, who's this for? I don't know. Are you sure you don't know? No, I know. It's about for a senior label. I know what he's doing. All right, welcome back. Are you playing? I'm not. I kind of forgot we just talked about it.
Pull the Douglas. And then as soon as you said, I was like, oh, I just brought up that I never forgot to put you in when I went to the sound part. We just went through that story again. All right, but we don't. Uh, not since. I mean, if you want to know, it's always nonsense around these time. Come on, you absolutely is. All right, Hugh Douglas. Uh, why don't we, uh, let's hear from you people. So you people, it's time to hear from you people. What do you need? You people. So a lot of people got a kick out of Joe button in the YouTube chat. Yeah, Joe. You know what? I don't mind Joe buttons. I'll be Joe buttons when I'm annoyed. Yeah, I mean, they really got a kick out of Jay's call. But, um, one thing that they talked about with the callers, they said is Chris from Middletown, Jaylin's burner. He is burner. Yeah. What's that make? I don't know. It just feels like like you was talking like, like Jaylin had some thoughts, but Chris from a Middletown is the one that's expressing Jaylin's inside thoughts. That's actually what Chris, Chris Middletown gets to you people going. Again, they a lot of times they say they don't like them, but they listen to his calls.
Yeah, they're saying like hang up already. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Every day for his calls. So I think they like him more than they say. Yeah. Well, you were saying Joe that, um, is Jaylin in decline? They were saying, have we ever considered that Joe is in decline? Yeah. I mean, I don't know what that means. I mean, as a talk show host, as a human being, I don't, I'm not, I'm thinking of thinking as a talk show. Oh, okay. Yeah. Well, you don't talk to your guy. You got some shots at, uh, what's new, but he got some shot at your hair for once. Yeah. Um, they, they said, you be careful. You might wipe your hair off. Yeah. You see me brushing this, brushing that thing. Don't be mad because it's growing. I just have a question. And I say this would all do respect as a guy that's all, all do respect. Is the brush necessary at this point? Yes. Okay. I'm trying to get wavy. Oh, it's wavy up there. Yeah. All right. It is. I do see, I mean, it's coming in way more than last week. Yeah. It's a little thin. It's okay with that. We's okay. Come out next week. A Gerkson Roers for his cute duck list is hair growth. Yeah. At some point, I'm going to get it actually lined up. Whoa. Okay. I'm like a grown up. Yeah. You look like you used a colored pencil to put your hair in.
Howling Jalen Brown. Right in the line in my head or whatever. That's it. That's it. We didn't Jalen Browns going to try to do that as a six year because we can't have that. We're not doing that. The Beijing. Yeah. Well, this is the city for it. Well, remember though, and was like early in the season last year. Yeah. When he got the Beijing, it was a rough job on a different player's jersey. Why not in filly? I'm pretty sure. I'm going to have to be locked. Shout out to the barbers that get the Beijing. I get. I don't mind that. I need to be locked in on basketball. Not like in the hair stuff. Yeah. Well, you know, that's what I'm saying. He's in filly so they're giving the good. He'll get the good stuff. He won't get the stuff that's going to rub off. He won't get that good. All right. Good. Okay. And then lastly Kyle got a shot. It's Jack Fritz and Joe are a hater, but they are funny at least, but Kyle, does he still work here? Yeah, he does. He don't vacation. Yeah. He's back on us Tuesday with everybody else. Yes. Here. You know what? You know what? What? Like, as soon as we, to me once you get, once you walk in here at the football, the morning after Labor Day weekend, it's football. It's football. It's like a different feel when you wake up on the Tuesday after Labor Day. It is.
It is football season. I can't wait for it. We haven't checked in with our Twitter questions sponsored by the P.I. Donaldson. David, you're smile is the first thing others see when they meet you. Well, it's a question. Learn about schedule. Your evaluation at P.I. Donaldson. Nobody more locked in than Hugh Douglas today asking. And today he locked in the despite. Okay. All right. So, here for Jalen Hertz to remain the Eagles franchise quarterback. Seven, I've said no. Okay. So this is an error on my part and I'm paying for it because I have to just amuting all these dimensions. I mean, I'm in need for it. So, well, no. Before I tell you the results. So I don't have the, I have the WIP Midday show Twitter account on my phone. I can go to it. But I don't have like the thing to get into the poll. Like Kyle, I control it. Yeah. So what I've been doing this week, so we can have our poll. I just put the polls up on my personal account and then I share it. Okay. I don't obviously a lot of people are not happy with this poll. So I got all these people yelling at me. It was 80% no. It's not a make or break year. See, this is, yeah. No, you didn't win anything. This is, this is why I had clothes.
Well, this is why I had to tell everyone this morning that how he was fibbing because people, people bought that hookline and sinker. Come big fat liar. And it's a big fat. But I can't believe people bought that hookline and sinker yesterday. Come on. Big fat liar. Big fat. You know what else he will believe? When I said it. You know when they drafted, Jellon hurts in the second round of the draft, which is not a pick, you just like throw away. Howie came on the afternoon show on WIP, came on different shows. You know what he told everyone? He's just a cost controlled backup. And guess what I said then? He's not telling the truth. Because he was not telling the truth. Yeah. I mean, but here's the thing with this story. Jellie can control the narrative. It goes out there and plays. Of course he can. But that, but in make or break, he can make, right? Like make is the other part of this. Make or break. Yeah, you're right. But you know, you got to make it, you got to make it sound as part. You got to make it sound like you believe in him. And I think he does. I believe in you. And just like when he drafted, Jellon, he had to not make us believe he didn't believe and went anymore, even though he didn't.
I mean, obviously he did not. Because all Jellon is is a winner. Well, there it is again. He's nothing but a winner. Since birth. Art, who would you have more confidence in starting a Phillies playoff game? Aaron Noll or Andrew Paine? A little surprised by the results in this. You okay? Giggle's Douglas again. No, it's a trigger morning. I got a feeling I triggered somebody. It's not me. I'm good. I'm ready for a good weekend. Winner. What do you have on the pole? Nola or a painter? Who would you rather start a playoff game? I'm gonna say 65% Nola. 71% Nola. Hey, I'm gonna win. Hey, I'm gonna win. Hey, you are. I'm gonna win. I'm a winner just like Jellon heard. This is a little heavy for Aaron Nola. A little heavy. That big a gap. I don't know guys. If painter purchased the way he did yesterday, I'm gonna just like Jellon. I want to hand it. Is that how you're gonna end the show? Winner. Winner. He's a winner. Chicken dinner. No peace. Just winner. No, he's just winner. He just wins. Alright, what does Hugh Douglas up to on this Labor Day weekend?
