Middlesex Votes Delayed on PAX-1 Data Center | Harrisburg News

Middlesex Township’s vote on the controversial PAX-1 data center is delayed again—now set for September 2nd—after a medical emergency halted the first attempt and a chaotic August 5th meeting saw over 150 residents packed in, creating a fire hazard. Neighbors complain of relentless 12-hour construction days and a sharp decline in local wildlife, fueling tensions between progress and community life. Meanwhile, Governor Josh Shapiro has signed an executive order imposing the nation’s strictest AI data center regulations, though the company insists they’re already compliant. With the vote postponed and state rules tightening, the outcome on September 2nd could reshape the future of this high-stakes development.
