Welcome back to Artisan Artisan Artisan Artisan. This week, get your e-hawn, it's movie cowboys. Movie cowboys have been around basically from the dawn of film itself, from spaghetti westerns to American classics. These had a hold on Hollywood and cinema for years and years and years. And now in the new age, we have cowboy shows.

But has the cowboy movie star fallen completely off? Today, we'll sit down with four stars to get to the bottom of it. The legend of the American cowboy is as American as apple pie and these four movie cowboys are just a couple of the incredible men, women and non-binary maybe people that have created the landscape we know as the Wild West. So sit back, frame up, gun up and hat on. Let's listen in. Well, howdy! Howdy, howdy, howdy, howdy, howdy, howdy, howdy, howdy, howdy, howdy, howdy, howdy,

get your Friday. You know, A-Taglia, Telet Western, thinner plot. Pretty Western. Full of holes. Lizhanya Western. Well, there's layers to this one. Oh, oh, Ovvigado Western? Like, yep. Yep. They should have. Yep. But she just go, get you on the school. Get you on the school. Get you on the school. Get you on the school. Get you on the school. Get you on the school. Got you off the school. Get you on the school. Get you on the school. Get you on the school. She was like breakfast. Macaroni Western, do something quick for the kids to go out to school. Absolutely. Do something quick. Magianos Western, get a pasta, take a pasta. You get a wester on the way home. Love it. It's the least. I love seeing the movie in the theaters and I hand you a westerner as you leave. I love that. It's delicious. I love it. Well now that we are, that settled. Yeah, I don't think that's settled. I don't think that's settled. Now let's make sure we go through all our topics today.

We can cross off spaghetti western and it's many other counterparts. We got Italians down. We figured out Italians. Although I do think I may have some more thoughts on Italian down the road. We all have a lot of thoughts on all damn European countries. Unfortunately, I think we could keep going and maybe we'll get back to it. I think we might. Well, let's why don't we go around and introduce ourselves first. And of course, we all know how we are known. But maybe we could tell the audience these city folk, the city. Slickers. The urban. Sons of guns. These. Sons of guns. City slickers on their lime scooters. I'll tell you though, I'll tell you this. Some of these city slickers, sometimes I'll find a cowboy in it. Like I'll be on a set big HBO set and I see a grip and I go that's a cowboy. Absolutely. That's your damn cowboy. Cowboys ain't no hat or they ain't no polo tie.

Cowboys and attitude. Sometimes the cowboys in the eyes. I see the scriptie that's a cowboys. I never met no scriptie that's a cowboy. I'll go on record. I always does have not as well. But I know they're out there. I went to a grocery store. Woman gave me a bag without charging me for it. That's a cowboy. Now that's a cowboy. Now that's a cowboy. I want time met an eight second second. Second ticket. Who is so close to being a cowboy. They were just starting off cow little boy is what I like. Cow child. Cow child. Cow child. Cow child. Cow child. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, come on, let's come on, guys. Come on, come on, come on. You got me distracted. Well, come on, we got more than a calf in the meadow. Come on, come on, come on. They do love to wander. Those calves love to wander. Drolling more than a barfly on his fourth ground. Oh, God. I'll say it.

I'll say it too. Whoa, went a little New York, man. That's what I did. I did it. I took my stick out. My mouth it changed away. My sound came out. Keep it in. Stay country. I can. I can be in. Sound change. OK. Hey, y'all. My name, of course, is Sam Spies. Good God, Sam Spies. No one in on Sam Spies. What am I best friend sitting here? We came through all of it. We came up and down together. Oh, all of it. All of it. I mean, we were constantly competing for such similar roles of a lot of time. Back in the day when you wouldn't tape it before, we'd see each other in the hallways of the audition room. And that's when you could really tell who the true cowboys were and who were just these Hollywood shmucks. Yeah. Well, a true cowboy has a different kind of slate. Yeah, we go. Oh, we got to talk cowboy slate. We'll talk cowboy slate in a sec. After we go back to Spaghetti Western, more Italian dishes. Italian and slug. We got to put it on the minute. So we're going to have cowboy slate to the minute.

Put it on the itinerary. Itinerary. Good idea. So I'm saying Spock, I've been in a lot of Westerns, a lot of cowboy stuff on the ranch myself down in Fort Worth area right outside of Coppel, Texas. And you might know me now because I run dirt guy. I'm the leading dirt guy show on Paramount Plus. How many seasons you got there? We're on season four, I believe. Well, howdy. Yes. Well, howdy. I heard you signed a 400 season contract. I signed a 400 season contract. First of its kind. First of its kind, 400 seasons of dirt guy. And we're just getting started. We got 10 times the amount of seasons coming to you on Paramount Plus. It's kind of the new age cowboy, you know, I ain't wearing the gear. I ain't dressed. I'm wearing, you know, flannel in a trucker hat. But boy, do I get things done? God, do you? I heard that that whole time show is based off a guy that a bunch of people

heard yelling crazy things somewhere outside of Odessa, Texas. That's exactly what it's based on. It's crazy. You can get the rights to anything. I like it. You can really identify. You can identify those rights. You can identify those rights. You can identify those rights. You couldn't just ride a movie. Now we had to go find this guy. You're identified the rights of him having a mental breakdown outside of Odessa. You had to option a mental breakdown. You had to option a mental breakdown. It takes all sorts. I mean, this is the most interesting thing. Cowboy life and Hollywood life. It's where you find the middle that this is always going to be interesting. Because it ain't ballpark Hollywood. We ain't going to go work with the big studios. But we have to. Right. Some lately. Yeah. So I'm Sam Smock and check out dirt guy. I will say really quickly though, what you're talking about is interesting because I'd say the studio model, some of these streamers, some of these, these indie platforms, those are Cowboys. Well, I like to think about it like the studio is the big ranch and the indies or the

guys just starting it up looking for gold on the side. Now who's the horse in this? So the horse in this is the showrunner. Showrunner. Yeah. Showrunner. The saddle that's an exact that attaches to the showrunner. Okay. Oh, sort of an executive producer. Executive producer. It's a hard word for you. Exactly. Executive producer. Sometimes I'll see a horse. Sometimes I'll see a horse going fast and I go that's that's the fastest of a true runner. That's his face. It's a showrunner. Absolutely. Sometimes if a horse is trotting you go, he's running at half showrunner right now. Yeah. Half a horsepower. I think your showrunner power might be more appropriate. Showpower. I'll tell you what, if cars are running on the showrunner power, they didn't be one going on the highway. I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. You tell me. No. You tell me not. You tell me not. Tell me not about.

I'll tell you. Tell me what. Tell me what. Are you telling me nothing about that? Well, howdy. How y'all doing today? My name is Randal Gentry. Randal Gentry. Randal Gentry. Randal Gentry. Oh, my no me as a singing cowboy from many, many, many years fast. Also hosted the Randal Gentry hour on television for 40 years singing for children with my favorite puppet sidekick, Pupi Woopie. Pupi Woopie. I can I grew up on Pupi Woopie. Pupi Woopie, the crazy old cow boy to come on in. Make all sorts of noises. Oh, he had a lot of fun singing around the campfire with all Pupi Woopie in his horse. Scoop. Pupi Woopie and Scoop. Pupi Woopie. And that can I say, you must be at least 112, but you look no day over 28. I haven't got an older. I have just gotten more excited to be alive. My God.

That's beautiful. So what is your secret then? Is it cow boy o's epic? Is it bush beans? Is it cow boy injections of some sort? Cow boy bowtops? Cow boy blft surgery? I don't touch the stuff. I would go cowboy blft surgery. I didn't get cow boy blft. You think I got cow boy blft? Cow boy blft? You got cow boy blft? Oh, please. If you don't have cowboy blft surgery, I'll eat my cow boy. I'll eat my cow boy blft. I'll eat my cow boy blft. I'll eat my cow boy blft. I'll eat my cow boy blft. Cow boy blft surgery. I'll eat my damn hat. And y'all don't know what cowboy blft surgery is. It's when a rattlesnake butt you above the eye. It makes you look so beautiful. You can find that rattlesnake and say it in monogh. We're barely here. We're here. I'm out now. I ain't touched nothing on my face. The sun ain't touched first. Lord, I'm a cowboy throwing through. Whatever mother earth wants its way with it will have. A TV cowboy. I'm a TV cowboy in a singing cowboy. Give the people your intro song to your show.

I mean, it brings a tear to my heart and an eye to my soul. That don't forget poopies part. All right. Popeys part is most of it for me. Go ahead. Get the up, ring the bell. It's a cowboy, a crow. Get the up, ring the bell. It's a cowboy, crow. Absolutely. Absolutely. Now it sounds better when you hear it coming from poopies mouth. But I try my heart. That was beautiful. Oh no, that is. Absolutely no-style, Jake. I feel like I am a little girl in my grandpa's TV room again. Yeah. So happy that y'all grew up with poopy with me. We had a lot of fun. That's how I learned culture. You had everybody on your show. You had Randy Dink. You had- Thank you. You had-

How girls, Susie Cue. We had- We had Oki-Cook. Oki-Cook first of all. I saw Oki-Cook on my TV screen. I was in my grandfather's TV room. I'm sucking on a mint. And I went, oh my god. Oki-Cook. We heard it. We heard it, everyone. Oki-Cook last time he bought the foot-proof inside there. I could have heard it. He said a lot like a horse at the beginning of the- Never, never, never, never, never, never. MUSIC Warning. The following song has been rated dangerously catchy and may not be suitable for grownups. Hey, this is James from Raiders of the Lost Podcast. We've learned over and over on our show while talking to people and entertainment that success comes when you bet on yourself. How many times have we talked to an actor who took a big risk with a challenging role because they believed they could pull it off? Well, it's a lot easier to take those risks when you've got the practical stuff covered. And that's what Geico does so well. Imagine an actor driving to set to film the scene that's going to win them an Oscar. They're focusing on the scene, not on dealing with managing an insurance claim. Because Geico is handling that. And they don't even expect a shout out in the acceptance speech. Geico provides peace of mind and they'll do the same for you. Maybe it's not an Oscar wedding performance. Maybe it's building a career. Starting the business you've dreamed about or just taking care of your family. Whatever you're betting on, Geico will make sure you're covered. Learn more at Geico.com. We have a new podcast. It's called Don't Lie To Me. I'm Lexi Waneu. We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart. And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions. And at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all. I'm not going to get any of your fighting. That is wild. I learned that about you today. Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business.

And I've always got something to say. If men were just honest about this, there would be so much more peace in the world. We're going to talk about dating, relationships, beauty, getting older, and a little wiser. We're best friends, but we don't always agree. Because you told us how accommodating you are. Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight, but there's only so much fight I can fight. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Lier. I'm Lacey Mosley, author, actor, stand-up comedian, creator, and host of scam goddess podcast. The true crime comedy podcast, all about robbery, fraud, and those who practice it. Each week I bring on incredible guests like Conan O'Brien, Iowa Debris, Lamor and Morris and Nicole Byer. Ooh, I scammed them. What? I could talk to you for an hour. You're a generational yapper, like me. That's why I had to make yapping a job. And the scams run the gamut.

I'm talking about scams from the 1800s, all the way up to today. I also warn you and keep you safe against scammers. Call your grandparents. Tell your parents to stop clicking on links. Please. And now you can catch full episodes of my show on YouTube. If there's a scam, I'm here to protect you. And I'm also here to laugh with you. So if you like fun, if you like comedy and you like learning and protecting yourself from criminals, start listening to scam goddess on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Scam goddess! Well, it's a nice to be here. Well now you are just the most shipper man in Hollywood. I've been bullied there. It's a lot coming from you. Oh, please. It's a lot coming from you, son. You think I'm shipper? I think you're the alpys at honey. You think I'm, oh, I see what you're saying.

Lipitch! You're a ghost in me. You're having a sour attitude. Oh, good. Well, I tell you, I don't get sour unless the world makes me sour. Oh. Like a sour old gulpsmacker or a mackenock. Listen. Both of you don't very sour. I gotta say just a little bit. I might call them the workers. No, don't need a sour mackenock. I ain't never heard of it. You would say mackenock is sweet. Now, that's why, not the main reason why we call this guy the candy cowboy. The candy cowboy. No, the candy cowboy. Candy cowboy. Big pardon, big pardon, big pardon. One of the many things this guy has. My name is Dirt Mud Horse Lazo. S-quire. Dirt Mud Horse Lazo S-quire. So what's the first and what's the last name? It's Dirt Mud Horse Lazo S-quire.

Okay. And he's a lawyer. Bill Nade, horse Lazo. Last name S-quire. Your last name is S-quire. I thought there's no time I thought you was a lawyer. I thought you were a lawyer. I thought you were a lawyer. I regret representing you in court that day. I won't qualify, and I'll cop to that now. And that I did guarantee we lost that whole handedly. Whole handed lawsuit. You'll get your custody back one day. Listen, I was a movie cowboy of the extra year in the 1970s. I'll knock it down then. Then I was little took a little bit of a break because of the cowboy. Less of those movies were made. It all became cocaine and Florida. Miami. It is a shame. For the cowboys, a different kind of cowboy. It's a cowboy with flip-flops on and wear tan. A white. Where and why? I'm wearing a cowboy with a fan boat.

Hey, how can you wear white if you're a cowboy? You're going to get covered in blood by the end of the day. You're going to get dirty. This was a white shirt originally. Hey, look, and I feel that my career has... I've had to make some choices because I had a personal... I was Taylor Sheridan's bully in school. Oh, tough. And I'm learning it now. I've been cut out of the whole Yellowstone situation. Sometimes he sends me all her additions as a prank. And then I do them and then he goes and pank you. It was me, Taylor Sheridan. You ain't never getting that part. You hate to see that. You hate to see it. I hate to see it. I hate to see it. So I have pivoted to Christian films for financial purposes. I wonder if it's a wealthy field. You know, we don't respect that film enough. You're doing the Lord's work and it's great work. And that's what it's called. The Lord's work is the great work.

I saw that movie. I thought it was great. You're writing an exam. You decided to go back to school to prove the professor wrong. Thank you. Yes. I do. I am a cowboy and I go back to school to prove the professor wrong. And this school is full of all these nasty liberal kids. They got all kinds of colored hair. All kinds of hair. Hair every color of the rainbow. Green. Natural. No. Purple. It's crazy. And it's like my wife would you let the sock in the washer with her wings. She washes her wings in the washer. She washes the wigs in the washer. I was just thinking they made a wool. That's what I was thinking. And is the sock, is it like, so the sock is dying the wig's colors? She let the pink sock with her gray wool wig. Wait, the wool, the wig is wool. So I think the wool, the wig sounds like more of a sock than the wig is.

I don't know women. I'm a cowboy. I'm going to swear enough. Damn, damn, damn, damn. Damn, damn, damn. The strength of that little pink sock to make all those wool gray hairs. I need a mask. That's the thing about me and a cowboy, you know, sometimes a little gopher can affect the whole ecosystem of all the horse. Speaking of David and Galathe. Are you a Christian or are you just doing it for the work? I have decided in my best interest it would be I am on Instagram. I am Christian. That's all I'm trying to do to find an Instagram account in which I am not Christian. Congratulations to your account for converting to Christianity. Congratulations. That's a very big move for your Instagram account to finally commit to Christianity. You do have to use it. Your account is found the light one day and my account and my posts they have accepted all that comes with it.

I love some of these movie scenes about you going up to some of these kids and they're talking and they say something like you don't believe in evolution and your retort when they come. It's just an amazing movie. Oh yeah, I got a lot of zingers. Can we watch a scene of you kind of confronting these kids? Yeah, I want to say that. I hadn't played the cafeteria scene. Now this is my first day in school. I am of course a 65 year old man. Of course. And everyone else is 19 and has the wildest color hair you could possibly imagine. So they're talking and I approach them. All right, let's play the scene. Milton said say God is dead. See it. God is dead. I'm not scared at all. God is dead. Milton God is dead. God is dead. I want to say it too. God's dead. Jesus is stupid. He's stupid. I'm thinking about getting a tail. Well, if Jesus is stupid then I'll better take one more test again. Huh? Can we help you?

If Jesus is stupid, then I guess I'd better throw all the results of my SAT test out the window. Old man, what are you even doing here? What are you talking about? I love that kid. I love what I'm talking about, what I believe in. I love that kid that says, say God is dead. I got to focus on what you said. This was a perfect retort to these children. Jesus is stupid. Then you got to throw away all your test results. This is if you really put them in their place. Break it down for me. Because I have an understated what that means. Why don't you break it down for me? What that mean for you? So if Jesus is stupid, then you got to throw away all your test results. If Jesus is stupid, then that means the very metric by which we judge intelligence has to be thrown out the window. Exactly what I was thinking. Exactly.

I want to think I could put those kids in their place. You did it. I like that show too because there's no justification why there's an old cowboy walk around. He's cool. And the kids just talk to him like he's been there for years. No, that's an issue. No one asks him why you hear what you hear. And they'll y'all just wait till the end of the season because these kids are finally going to learn their lesson. You're going to reveal why you're there at the end of the season. No, you're no, that'd be great. That's not an issue that came up in the riders room. That is not a problem. That didn't bump anybody. Even when the parents pick up the kids, they just talk to the cowboy. Oh, hell, cowboy. You're an Oscar too. I think that I come from a bit. This town is setting a town that is not judgmental. You know, if your neighbors doing something funny, you turn the other cheek. And I like when it used to be like that. Well, thank you for sharing that. I think there's a cowboy we haven't heard from yet.

The strong silent time. Strong silent time. The black hat always the black hat over here. They call them the black hat. Pardon me, thought. Maybe we don't even get to me. And maybe that'll be the most cowboy thing that happens today. Wow. Wow. A living legend. But we have gone to the end. Do I have to introduce myself? I don't feel like it. I think you should introduce yourself. I know you need no introduction in regards to our company. But should the others? Well, I appreciate it. My name is Whiskey Brown. Whiskey Brown. Ben-a-dale. You know, man, I heard a song called The Ballon of Whiskey Brown. That's this man sitting right here right next to me. I cannot believe I'm sitting in a legend. You do one movie. You do one day movie back in the day. And suddenly they call you the first Hollywood cowboy.

The first Hollywood true, a new age Hollywood cowboy. It's amazing because you guys came up together. And they call me the first Hollywood. And unfortunately, you beat me out. He beat you out. You became the first cowboy. I mean, you were kind of the first one to not be only good. There was a complexity to you that was darker. People didn't know what to make of you, but they were into it. I'd say, back in the day, it wasn't about who was the best. It was who was first. Exactly. And now I look at some of these pop stars, some of these actors, young actors, and I go, oh, they're all comparing each other. They're all in the same way. And we didn't have that back in the day. It was like, but that's cowboy. You stick to your own horse. Did you got your own fucking deal with it? You got your own bucket. You got your own saddle. And you got your own pit. We're all on our own journey. He's trying to follow it and figure it out

before the sun finally sets in our quiet short lives. Short, short lives. You're such a legend. What was it like working with the beautiful dolly sight Claire? Oh, dolly sight. Dolly sight. Dolly sight. Claire, be still. Oh, my heart. Oh, my heart. Oh, my heart. That dolly sight is special. May Lord rest herself. Yeah, she's dead. She's dead. She's dead. Oh, she's dead. She's dead. She is dead, but she still makes my heart beat twice. I see it. And that's a live woman. That's a live woman with a live heart. I see a picture. Oh, yeah, yeah. It's pure. He's turned into the Yodeling. Yodeling. I'll tell you nothing, nothing, nothing was like the first day I set my eyes on Dolly

St. Claire. She walked in and this was back in the day in Hollywood where you didn't do chemistry reads. You didn't do callbacks. You met on set and there she was in a picnic dress. And I went Lord, Lord, is that who will be playing Cissy Barn? She played the shit out of Cissy Barn. And I was playing Dinkle Bank. Yeah, not Whiskey Brown. No, mostly brands of my night. Yeah, yeah, Dinkle Bank. I was playing Dinkle Bank. The first cowboy, Dinkle Bank. Dinkle Bank is Cissy Barn of match made in heaven. And I want to sit back a second. I don't know what a picnic dress is. That's a dress that lightens your picnic that she gets covered in food. And boy, did we love a picnic dress back in the day. Yeah, because he was a girl. He was a girl. He was a heart-giver. You see women covered in food? You know she's going to cook you up something now.

No, God. I'd say it's the original wet t-shirt content. A big, red, blackberry powder. No, no, no, no, no, no. Blackberry powder. Oh, God, Dolly's right here. She sat on the leather bars. But these just got lemon bars all up on her tooth. It's people sitting on the cakes now. I'm like, do you know where you come from? You know where you come from? I'm out to know your history, ladies. You're from picnic dresses. You have to know your history. I see videos of women in Daytona with their white t-shirts and their black brawls. And I go, you need to kiss the ground at Dolly St. Claire walk. Don't come over. I'm gonna say that. You're doing the opposite of what we want. We want you covered in more stuff so we can't see as much. What is it? What is it? That used to be how it worked. We wanted to see less, not more. And you wanted to, and I wanted to stick my face in it. Take the food away. We. That's cool. We were hungry back then. I said, put the collar on your face. Put the collar on your, on your bosom so I could stick my face in there. Eat the collar and get the boobs out. We love a curvy woman because there's more room to put food on your dress.

God, and I said that. I love my curvy one. Can we all just talk about how much we love our curvy one? Oh, wait. There's more to your dress. So you love your curvy one. You love it? Of course you gotta watch her hair is pink, remember because of her wool wig? Oh, yeah. Pink hair. Oh, well I'm not supposed to like that. She's curvyer than a mountain switch bag made by a person with the lazy eye. God, I love that. Oh my wife's curvyer is in a train on the track that's going all broken style. Not broken style. Yeah, well my wife's curvyer than a wave cresting on a cliff that's gone all crazy style. And my wife is curvyer than an F1 rice going up and down the mountains of Canada. Okay. That's curvy. It's curvyy. It's curvyy. It's curvyy.

It's actually very curvy. So let's go back to the artinor area then, right? Italian. Italian. Italian. West spaghetti and all its others. Do you remember that? Do you remember that old horse in Tennessee, I can't hear it? I can't hear it. I lost 10 big ones on the Italian. 10 big ones. 10 big ones. Oh, what big ones? Back in the day, that was a lot of money to lose. It's a lot of money to lose. It's a lot of money to lose. I say these gas prices. Oh god, don't get me. Actually, we edited it. I didn't hear it. Talk about it again. That's crazy. We got cowboys late. Cowboys late. We got cowboys late. We got cowboys late. And we'll put it in the horse. I didn't hear it. And we want to do more Italian stuff. Italian stuff. Yeah. Mom, are we there yet? 10 more minutes. Only 10 minutes. Can you drive slower? What's up with them today? Lingo kids.

While talking to people and entertainment that success comes when you bet on yourself, how many times have we talked to an actor who took a big risk with a challenging role because they believed they could pull it off? Well, it's a lot easier to take those risks when you've got the practical stuff covered. And that's what Geico does so well. Imagine an actor driving to set to film the scene that's going to win them an Oscar. They're focusing on the scene, not on dealing with managing an insurance claim. Because Geico is handling that. And they don't even expect a shout out in the acceptance speech. Geico provides peace of mind and they'll do the same for you. Maybe it's not an Oscar wedding performance. Maybe it's building a career. Starting the business you've dreamed about. Or just taking care of your family. Whatever you're betting on, Geico will make sure you're covered. Learn more at Geico.com. Lisa? We should tell them about our new show. Oh my god, Lexi. We have a new podcast. It's called Don't Lie to Me. I'm Lexi Iwaneo, where two best friends. 22 years apart, but so close at heart. And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions. And at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all. I'm not getting any worse than fighting.

I'd say I want to talk about the difference between a cowboy and an actor who plays a cowboy. I mean a lot of actors who play cowboys now in this day and age. And they've never been a cowboy in their life. North Hollywood kids who went to Michigan University of Michigan or Chapman University. They don't know the first thing about cow pocket. I saw a true west by Sam. Sam shippered at NYU play rocks. Horizon. Get rid of your v neck and put on a spurs. I said where's your dirt? You walk into a cowboy audition room. You're going to see a lot of Talucca like cowboys. Guys who are not walking the walk and I think it's time to have this conversation. Or should they should non cowboys be taking cowboy role?

It's such a good question about appropriation versus appreciation. No, 100 and I think we should put it on our tenor. Let's put it all the way out. Because I think what's so important about it is really talking about it. Because I remember back in the day when I first got the role of dinky pinky. I thought in my cowboy enough because I grew up around cowboy. Right. My daddy was a true cowboy and an opposite of an actor. That man could not turn it on if you tried. Even when we had to say Grayson, friend of our chicken in the morning, he would not do anything performative because my daddy was a cowboy. Are you, are you, let me ask you, you know you're a cowboy when you do Grayson front of your chicken every moment. I'm sorry, but it's true. You know your Hollywood cowboy when you look for where your mark is and it's also in the dirt. You know your Hollywood cowboy when you call your snake on the phone because your snake is your agent.

And that's like 10% that's not it. Hey, take it. You know your Hollywood cowboy when instead of saying action they say draw. You know your Hollywood cowboy when sag after calls you looking for your dues. And you say get in the house horsey you're not allowed inside. You know your Hollywood cowboy when you're acting coach eight Uda Hogan. It's you to shoot. Yeah, you know your Hollywood cowboy when your call time is high news. Yeah, you know your Hollywood cowboy when only gas prices you worried about as how many paint you're ripping through. Well, the first from the you know your Hollywood cowboy when you're for your consideration period is for your consideration put him up.

I tried that was no that I realize that. But consideration period into consideration put him up. I liked it. Thank you for bringing it up with skin as a serious issue. It's a serious issue. For FYC periods. Yeah, I see. No, not being a Hollywood cowboy. It's different than a cowboy. I have to see P.E.U. Absolutely. I grew up I was the eighth brother at eight. I was a young guy. I was a running litter. And every single other one was a cowboy. Yeah, they used to get up on the cattle trail and go up and down and up and down. But I was out of I was out of broken boat and I'm hanging out by myself. I used to sit and wait for them to come home singing on the park singing little songs. Little brothers waiting round when will my brothers come down from the mountains. That was the best thing I've ever heard. I love your brother album.

I love every brother. I got a song about every brother. I love Malcolm the most. Oh, Malcolm the song. Malcolm the big Malcolm won't you come home now from the mountain. It's all another the same theme. And Malcolm was the oldest. That's why he was big. But it always got me because you never knew if big Malcolm was going to come down from the mountain. And they did not. What about your brother of the song? What is it? Sorry. What? You never came down. You just didn't know. But then if they went away, you didn't know. Yeah, you look for him and then try to find him. Now it's told them and you go away. I just read an article that a lot of your brothers end up joining move on Rouge. Yeah. You read an article. Now where did you see that article? Now where did you see that article? Cowboy monthly. I think I read it on death, the dead valley line.

No, I'm not talking about this. This is how many I tend to hear. I think I read it on vanity country fair. Well, I don't talk about the death of the newspaper because what's happening is there are high on these freelance people writing about move on Rouge. It's putting in the cowboy paper. I don't care about that. I don't know who's paper. I don't know who's paper. Get your own paper. Get out. All right. Here's the thing. Here's the thing and I got a question for you. If you have advice for young cowboy actors trying to make it, what did you tell them? Because there's different things you got to look for. I know that cowboy headshots require a different look. I hear from these commercial actors, you know, they want you to look quirky, bright, light, like approachable friend. Yeah. But cowboy headshots, you got to go to a whole different kinkos. Get that thing seepia tone. You got to get a 10-time photograph.

You got to go to one of those places. There's the old-timey photos. If it don't say wanted on the bottom, it ain't going to turn it in. If it wanted, he would have to. I'm not sure. I said that's funny actor to be honest. Put a ball on the bottom so they know that other people want you. Yeah. That's true. I'm not gonna lie. Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. I'd say dead or alive. Sag eligible. Saggy. I heard some of these commercial actors sometimes they'll put some scrubs or a blue, like a best-by t-shirt, a colored shirt or a red, like all-state shirt in their trunk. Add a cowboy hat back there. Add a cowboy hat. There's nothing stopping you from adding a cowboy hat in that pile of shit. I keep a button down shirt in the back of my car that has a gunshot wound in it. I mean, just in case it's a scene where if I'm looking to get shot. There you go. If you want to be a cowboy, stop taking showers.

Stop it. It's an easy thing, y'all. There's a thing called dry shampoo. It does wonders for a cowboy. I put it in my fucking crotch. I put it on my socks directly on my socks. It's like putting dry shampoo on your crotch. I mean, you ain't been on the ranch. You look green, boy. You are not a real cowboy. Because cowboy culture is a lot tied with pioneer culture. But I want to make one thing clear. We are not gold hunters. No. We are not gold hunters. It's not just in the American West to grab farming land and work the fields of our cows. That's where Cow Boy comes from. Thank you for getting that done. I needed to say. I needed to get that out there in fact it won't be any... Some people try and call cowboys gold diggers. You can't say it for us. Now we might be gold diggers personally.

I'm married for money. I'm married for money. I am in it from my cousin. My cousin, my wife has family problems. I have curly issue. My cousin, my wife is so curvy. If you try to draw an S in her presence, she'd be like, well, I already got that covered. So, I already got that covered. If you try, when you're rotten, then you rotten S. Your wife is coming up and saying, well, I already got that covered. She dressed her to her body, which looks like 17S. I got that covered. She works on all the stop signs in town. That's incredible. I love that you're just trying to rot an S down. And she says, look at my body and sit. That's beautiful. That's a beautiful thing. It's a beautiful thing. Your wife seems medically unwell. She's that curvy, though. I want to say. Medically. Oh, you're just jealous. That sounds like gross on us. I'm like, I'm like, Skull, yo, sister me. If you got every man talking to you saying, your wife looks unwell,

that's just jealousy. That's just jealousy. Every cowboys lining up to measure my curvy wife's spine. And I won't let them. I know that's how it starts. The chicken they go claim in Skull, yo, says you go claim an envy and jealousy, monster. Yeah. Jaliosis. A jaleo, that's it. Oh, we put them up, be saying a song about Jaliosis. Let's hear it. Jaliosis. Jaliosis. Stay away from my cowgirl. Jaliosis. Jaliosis. I like it. It has a pop ring too. The little rock and roll. That's when Chuck Berry came on the show. Chuck Berry, a living legend. A little town boy rocking roll. A little town boy rocking roll. A little town boy rocking roll. Film people going to the bathroom. That's where you're at. I did not know that. Not always great. It's so sad. It's an old cowboy to see all your friends and realize they need to talk about how. Can we have an in-memorium for all our friends that have been canceled? Oh, yeah. God, there is nothing faster than the cancellation of an actor who plays a cowboy.

Absolutely. You guys are fast on it. We are just basically waiting to be on a hot mock saying something bad. Oh, yeah. I'll kick it off. Cowboy, cancel in memoriam. Old, skipping layback. 2012. I said a really bad word. Old, two hats, Johnson 2018. Said a really bad word. Floppy Boston, Tipper. Said a bad word. Papio Hula hand did a really bad thing. Dusty Clegghorn. Pushed a woman off a boat. Question mark. It wasn't confirmed. Not confirmed. Pending cancellation. Jennifer Tussburg's McGee. Smilled a really bad thing.

And that's a thing with girls. Cowgirls, they can't get cancer for being smelly. First smelly bad thing. First smelly bad thing. There's a double standard for women. She smelled the murder. Yeah. Johnny Button time. Didn't like getting loft. So he smacked a sound down the face. Insulation. Shane Dirt Johnson. Was found at a club with 17 year old women. Saying a really bad word. A real bad word. Donnie Shadow. Money laundering. That's canceled by the courts. That's canceled by the courts in the law. By the law. They can't. Weatthin double hat. Weatthin double hat. Weatthin double hat. Gofer.

Dead a really bad thing. 24 times. Yeah. Can only imagine what that could be. Well, we're still here. Kylie was just telling me the funniest thing. It's the funniest thing. You can become a Patreon member. And hear more about our lives, the episodes, and other fun things we're doing on this side. Isn't that hilarious? Isn't that just a trip? Isn't that so like us? Where are those hats from? They're from artists on artists on artists.com. That's right. Did we call this ad a two for one? Enjoy the rest of the ad. Yeah. Maybe I've ever done anything on set. We're dying to breed. We're going to extinction. Have you all ever done anything on set where you worry? I have too much of an attitude because I feel the older I get and the more famous I am, people act like, like, I'm gonna bust a nut. I'm just waiting to be canceled. I'm waiting to be canceled. Well, I heard you got into some hot water because you put a horse in your rider and then you didn't like the horse. I think my horse is here today. Bestie say hello. That's a good horse. That's a good horse to say hello. Yeah, I love my horse as well. I got a little, I did a small spot on Euphoria.

I saw this. It was so. Season three, the American West. I love you for it. And only season three. The American West season was a make. Finally, they got it right. Yeah, they had me come on for a cameo or whatever you call it. And what was the scene you did? I think Rue was on a walk, a depression walk. Yeah. Can we get it? If Rue does one more depression walk, it got you for it. My wife got a shower or something else. She's on a depression walk and I'm sitting on the field across the way. And I'm smoking and I go, you've been through a lot, huh? And Rue doesn't say anything. And I go, takes the journey to see a journey and recognize the journey in the face. That's death Valley. That's the scene. But anyway, I said I need a horse. And that's busy. Well, you've done God a horse. You've done God a horse.

Beautiful lines. Beautiful words. Thank you. In this new age, they won't let me near a mic. Are you guys new in gigs right now? Yeah, I'm on dirt guy. Yeah, dirt guy. I'm not going to let you near it. Well, when I'm sitting up, I tend to get angry at all the people around me for anything that they're doing. Because I just want to shoot out and get back to my ranch. But they want to do the hair and the makeup and the love. I mean, yeah, these are all job requirements. I unfortunately have to say. And that video that went kind of viral of you screaming at the HMU people. Well, the HMU you better back off before I shoot you. Could we play? Yeah, that's good. Yeah, that's good. Come here, honey. Honey, honey. We're just trying to clean. Hey, everybody chill for a second. Okay, you back off, you back off, and you back off. I don't need no hair makeup. I'm a man.

I don't do that. Okay. What is this? Dirt boy? No, this is dirt guy. Honey, you got literal shit on your face. I don't care. We're just worried that they're like literal feces. It's fine. I just put it there myself to dirten me up. I was a little dirt and grime on my face. I didn't know I was picking a poop. That was an accident. I picked up some dirt. Road to my face. Yeah, it got a little poop on it. I didn't see the dog poop there. But we're going to leave it there. We're going to shoot out. Okay. Wait, sweetheart. Did you really just try to get dirt from the ground? Shut up. I tried to get dirt on the ground. Try to dirt myself up to the look like real. Cowboy. I picked up some poop action. Road to all of my face. I heard you gave Naomi Wasey E. Coli. I did give her E. Coli. She was sick for a week and a half. It's so embarrassing. You put poop on her face trying to look like a man. And you know, sometimes you do that as a cowboy. You try to dirten yourself up. You're rolling in poop. Cowboy into the poop look like when you picked it. Like, did it look like poop? Was it like a chunk you picked up?

Or was it? You want to know the details of the poop I picked up? No, that's Cowboy sitting around the table. Sorry, this is Cowboy's mouth. Cowboy's being cowboy. I'm sorry. I was raised on a farm. This stuff is my interest. It was a doll. Somebody had walked their doll maybe 10 minutes before and not decided to not pick it up but kick some dirt over it. So when I went to go grab the dirt, it was fresh. Well, it did look like dirt. I can understand that. Thank you. I got a very exciting show coming up. We're doing on PBS. We're doing our retro spectra with the Randall Gentry hour. 100th anniversary. Wow. Good God. You the new next show. We're sorry. 50th anniversary. Wow. I was double every number of my head. Do you remember? So you are 112. I'm 112 years old. Young. Young. Are you the studio? Are you the Lack of 20 year old? Yeah. It's like a, a, a, a, a, a, a. Where were they? Any fun guests you got on that? We got a lot of fun guests.

I think Dolores, Nancy Wampell's coming. No, Dolores, Nancy Wampell's coming. We got the Fingles sisters. Not the single. Oh, I don't trust them as far as heart. We got Sandy Patch and the dusty dickheads. Woo! Sandy Patch and the dusty dickheads. Those dickheads make my heart go worse. They do. They do. They make my heart skip a beat. Mary Lou Williams is coming out and she's singing with me. The sun never sets on the wild west. What a beautiful woman and a beautiful song. Mary Lou Williams and Lamar have some of that pie. I like to see her in a big dickress. And then I'm going to be giving my body to AI at the end. What? What? I'm giving it away so I can live forever. Giving your body to AI. Giving my body to AI. And it's how it works. Hold on, hold on. You're going to scan your body. You know, I'm actually seeing something. I don't think that's a hat. I think that's excess skin. This, yeah. This is my skin tag. Yes. You pulled it with your back to look all tight.

Got to stay young in the face. Is that what all that tape is back there? Yeah. That's called cowboy remedy to stay young. Cowboy remedy to say young tape. It's tape. It's tape. Don't give your body to AI. Listen, I'm a cowboy. We're all cowboys here. I think we can all agree. You can't trust a computer on the road. No, you don't want to be doing AI. You want to be doing AI. AI. AI. Pop out. Pop out. You know, I don't know what to do. I'm going to be doing AI. I'm going to be doing AI. I'm going to be doing AI. Pop out. Pop out. You know, I don't trust a computer to do anything a horse can. I totally agree. Whatever you need a computer to do, it's worth. It's worth. It costs us. I got my horse sitting in all my emails. But I know horse is filing my taxes. I told my horse you fix a direct deposit with a direct book. I ain't doing it. But I just say it. The idea that we can go away forever. The idea we can go off into the sunset. We never come back. I think it's Saturday. It made a keyboard for a horse's hooves.

I think the worst thing in the world is a cowboy who fears death. In the fact that you fear death and you fear that beautiful white light we walk closer to every day is a sad thing. Because I know when I walk towards that light, the stronger I am, the more afraid of death I'm not. And the more cow boy I am. What? Wow. You got me thinking about my mortality. Yeah. You know, when I walk towards that light, I'm seeing Dollars St. Clair with all that chicken, wing, lemon bar, custard all over her dress. And I'm sticking my knife. I'm stuck in my car. You're a monster. Now, when you look into that white light, what do you see? Do you see a higher power? I see Dollars St. Clair a bunch of shit on her body. And I'm climbing it up. Now, are you thinking, do you see when you look into that white light, what do you see? Because I know what your Instagram sees.

I know of my Instagram sees, but now I'm starting to wonder what if I see it too? Oh God, David, your Instagram's Christian. So are you. My Instagram account may be under something. Close your eyes and look into the white light. Tell us what you done. See? I look into the white light. I see. Oh, zooie. Old sandy buttons with an apple combler. Oh, my god. Oh, my god. I can't read she. She can't curve here. That is spaghetti on a loop, delupid. Yeah, close your eyes now. What do you see, Spock? I'm looking to the light, and I see. Oh my lord, I see Ophelia DeGral. Oh, oh. Oh, I see the best feet I've ever seen. Wow, way she is curved. Oh, oh. He said what's car on it?

City's flicker, you better get that car out of here. Don't hit Ophelia now. Don't hit Ophelia. Ophelia. Ophelia. I'm here, Ophelia. Ophelia. Ophelia. Oh, no. The joy of the lost control, Ophelia. Man, that's crazy. Oh, no, no. He says the last. Ophelia, oh, god. Ophelia, come to me. Ophelia, Ophelia, Ophelia. Ophelia, come to me. Come to me. Ophelia. Oh, dear. I've killed a woman. Ophelia. I'm going to see what you're going to get. He saw a lot of Ophelia. I got a drop. I got to get out of here. No, come back. Come back. Come back, man. I am wrong. No, you just hit her sister. No. I just hit her, dude. Oh, god. Oh, my god. Oh, my god. Oh, my god. The road is too curried. I couldn't see behind the block corners. I couldn't see him in the snow. I'm out of my mouth. You got a Christian. He's not my fault. Hey, go.

Go there. Open your eyes. Open your eyes. What the hell was that? Now, that's what I call a... Yeah. Oh, I knew it. That is right there. That's a cowboy slate. That's a cowboy slate. It works on over 100 stains and it's America's number one stain butter added a brand. It's color safe and chlorine free, so I use it on whites, colors, and arc fabrics. An OxiClean isn't just for laundry, mix it with water for use all around the house, kitchen, bathrooms, and even floors. When my kids go all in, I say go for it because I've got OxiClean to get the stains out. It's not clean unless it's OxiClean. This is an I Heart Podcast. Guaranteed Human.
