Many people's first serious relationship didn't start with a kiss. It started with a kickoff, or perhaps it was love at first hike. But unfortunately, many of these football lovers don't live in the same city as their team, which is why Marriott Bonvoy has hotels close to nearly every NFL stadium, bringing fans closer to the teams they love with over 30 different hotel brands. So if you want to stay closer to your team, check in for Game Day with Marriott Bonvoy, the official sponsor of the NFL. We'll see you there. All right, it's time for a week to edition of Overreaction Monday, presented by Marriott Bonvoy. Check in for Game Day with Marriott Bonvoy, the official sponsor of the NFL. What's up Chris Rockman? Hey, you know, what was it though? The line that was used in the group chat, week one was drunk and week two's hungover. That's pretty much what it was.

Well, at least in early games, it wasn't a lot of scoring. Right. And then as the day progressed, with two guys got massive quarterback injuries that will reverberate for who knows how long as of this recording of overreaction Monday. We say hello to our YouTube viewers, YouTube.com slash rich eyes and show to watch over reaction Monday, every single Monday and then throughout the week too. You can listen to it on our podcast network wherever you get your podcasts. Ready Christopher? Let's do it, man. Hit it. Hit it. That was terrible. That was crap. That was garbage. This place is overreaction. Mundo's Monday. Christopher, what do you have for me today? All right, we got to start with that Sunday night game. Best game of the day. Went to overtime, chiefs, Colts, great game, great teams. Both teams look great. Both quarterbacks coming back from injury. Look really good too. I thought Daniel Jones played a good game, but Patrick and Holmes is awesome. And it goes to OT and look, Indy, knowing you're playing

the chiefs, the culture to gone for it on fourth and eight in OT. No, I didn't think so. That's 30 minutes left. You're giving the ball back to my homes. Like, come on, we all know how that game was in. No, I know that it had that feel of the calls are coming from within the house. I think if you're looking at anything here, okay? If you're looking at anything about the way that Shane Steichen approached over time, that you can second guess, it would be willingly. The two run plays? No, willingly, giving the football to Patrick, my homes first. After the homes had just finished the game. With the ball, even though they didn't do anything with it because he really wasn't that much time left to matriculate the ball close enough down the field. You see, I'm using the Hank strand phrase for the juice. Thanks so much everybody. You're professional tip your waitress. I'll be here all week. Maybe you're going to get hurt. I don't know. I shouldn't say that. After last. I'm out of appendix. So that I would say willingly, giving the ball to my homes first.

Now there's two ways to think about it because that's to me, the fascinating part about over time in that game last night is the strategy was on full display about what do you do? If you take the ball second, you know exactly what you need to do. You can go forward on fourth downs, which you can't do when you get the ball first. And we all know, you know, hey, you don't give the ball to my homes second and over time. You just don't do that because that is how Kyle Shanahan spent an entire offseason getting lit up because he took the ball first in the Super Bowl and then gave the ball second to my homes, letting him know exactly what he needs to do to march down the field when everybody lit Shanahan up for that. The problem in all of that lighting Shanahan up is the chiefs held the Niners to just three points. That's all the Niners could put up was just three points in that Super Bowl. So there's two rules of thought here. But when you give the ball up first,

you do allow the opponent that you give the ball to a second opportunity to possess it. It over time is actually one minute regular right in regular season. It's only 10 minutes long, whereas in the playoffs, as long as it needs to be. So by going up top to Laquan, Treadwell, what a gutsy play call. Grat, gutsy play call. Amazing. But that took most of the field away. Now, I know you're trying to go for the touchdown and win the game right there. Yeah. But when Treadwell, that was wild, wild that he goes down, then he gets up, then he fumbles, wait a minute. He had just possessed the football in his hands at the moment that luxurious need last brushed his hip. Wow. And thus he is now down by contact. The fumble got taken on the board in real time. It didn't you couldn't see him bobble it. So when they showed the replay, you're like, oh, he was bobbling it. Maybe this is a fumble. Right. And for a split second, I did think that

he was going to actually not be down by contact. And the fumble is over. And then the fact that the refs reversed the call on replay. Okay. Means to take the win away from the chiefs in overtime on Sunday night football in front of the chiefs kingdom in Arrowhead means I don't want to hear anymore that the refs are in the chiefs pocket. Okay. That narrative is boom toast. But all together putting it all together when you go ahead and take away most of the field that you need to traverse knowing now you can't take up most of overtime. You do need to score a touchdown. I understand you're saying go for it on fourth and eight. Go for it. But the way that the chiefs did play their the way that the chiefs did play their defense did not work out for the coach.

I know. I hated the two. I hated the two run calls on first and second down. I get it. You're trying to eat some cloth. You have to. But dude, like, and you have Jonathan Taylor, you have the balls to throw a bomb on your first play. Like I get it. Keep that aggressive. Keep that energy. I think the second guess more than anything is giving the ball like willingly saying I have a choice to keep it or give it to patch of the homes when he's clearly by the way. And this is the point. He looks great. He looks terrific. He looks no worse to wear. Kelsey looks as in shape and as as they look good dominant. Is he's ever been and now you had Kenneth Walker to the mix. Oh my gosh. With some receivers making plays. I mean, uh, tyquon Thornton's catch on third and forever. Hell is that. And you went was unreal. Yeah. Okay. And worthy caught a touchdown. And when she writes looks fast and the kid, uh, they drafted, um, the running back from Nebraska. Emma Johnson. He looks terrific. He's like, okay. And so the rookies that they got the chiefs being

two and a tied with the Raiders. Um, is a fascinating story through two weeks. Okay. All right. Okay. Ooh, man. We're off and running. Let's talk about the longest game in NFL history. Uh, the browns. Here's the thing. There's a thing when when we blow and up survivor tribal councils everywhere. I'm out. You know what? I'm kind of relieved to be out of guillotine and survivor after two weeks. I don't have to worry about it now. One less stress in my life. Okay. That's one way to look at it. Focus on gambling. Here's the thing, Rich. DeShawn Watson is proven. He deserves to be the brown star of this week and beyond on about the end beyond, but this week you bet he does. And I'll just say this as well. When you look at DeShawn Watson's performance in this game, compared to Baker Mayfields, um, how played him. Um, he, he did the job. And this is not at all why I'm saying this, but I have to make the point. Okay. DeShawn, nobody in the media wanted you to throw for 400 yards and five touchdowns, right? This performance, this moment coming through,

coming through with the touchdown pass on a play call that was a brilliant play call by Monkin and have the rest of the staff making sure that you executed these plays, making sure you didn't turn the football over. That's what we're talking about. An efficient 24 for 30, 238 pass yard to passing touchdown. First time throwing multiple passing touchdowns in a game since September 22nd, almost the two year anniversary of it in 2024 against the giants. This is only a sixth game since then. This is why we're talking about Watson because he's, it's availability was part of his problem. This is the performance we're talking about. And Brown's fans who want to see your door sanders, you may get to see him at some point in time. And Brown's fans who wanted to see something from the Browns, this is what huge. This is the gumption that you want to see. This is the performance you want to see by the youngins. And you got the win and Todd

coming up to the podium afterwards. His soundbite. I don't know if we can cue that thing up since we didn't have, we didn't have it planned for this. But this is what I'm talking about with Todd Monkin, man, with him basically saying Browns are going to be the Browns F that. That's a t-shirt. That's a mantra. That's something that Browns fans can say, heck yeah, Browns are going to Browns F that. Yeah. So good for them, man. Good for all the fans. This is what the media and the fans wanted to see. So yes, does he deserve to start against Carolina Panthers in week three 100% 100% he does. Beyond though, that one, I don't know. I mean, and that's the nature of the beast here. Yeah. And I think Monkin, this is exactly what a massive win it is because Monkins like I see things on tape and Browns fans are like, you know, watching the games. No, no, they're like the sixth sense thing. We see dead people. Okay, spoiler alert. And and and and Monkins like I tell the

players who's going to play in their job is to execute and everybody's and Cleveland's like saying we have a set of eyes. Okay. And and if he this thing fell flat, what a massive Monday conundrum he would have instead Browns are going to Browns F that just shown Watson's the starter. Even Browns fans have got to sit there and go, okay, let's see what we got and show up and bark. Boo. Best you can. Yeah. But of course, if the performance warrants it, do what you got to do. That's the end beyond part. I'll say is an overreaction. But the week this week, you're right. And they play Carolina this weekend. That's kind of a sneaky fun game. That's a fun game because Carolina went from giving up 59. Yeah. And what felt like putting 59 on a line. Right. Yeah. And and now they only gave up three Bryce Young, one of three. Four. Three over 600 yards this year. And by the brown, by the way, the bears scored 59 and then only scored three. Why did I the first two weeks are crazy? What else? What else you got? I love it.

I want to keep talking about quarterback point. I know this was the biggest spread of the weekend. And it was seemingly an easy 49er win. But Brock, party is ballin. And he is playing the best of any quarterback in the NFL other than Josh. Other than Josh. Okay. Yeah. I can't argue this. I mean, I don't have every stat in front of me here of other quarterbacks. But party was 20 of 22 against the dolphins. That's a 91% complete. Yeah. And 287 past yards. You ran one and threw two in. He becomes the second player in NFL history with 200 or 50 better or more passing yards on 90% completion in multiple games. The other is Derek Carr. So make that what you will. And everybody else has their head on a swivel. Both Kittle and use check scored touchdowns. The Kittle looks all in there. And for both of them,

both of both of the touchdowns that they caught for both of each of the guys gave them 10 straight seasons with a touchdown for the 49ers. Joining Jerry Rice Joe Perry, Frank Gore and Billy Wilson is the only other ones to do it. And you know, a Christian McCaffrey did it again. Yeah. Two studies from McCaffrey has 100th all time. 100th scrimmage touchdown. And he's now done it in 114 games. That's the fourth fastest in the history of the NFL. You know, who used to be fourth? Who's now fifth? Jerry Rice. And he now has 50 more touchdown, touchdown scored for multiple franchises. Joining Marshall Falk and Randy Moss in that department. Both of those guys are in the hall of fame. But this is about pretty. Yeah. I don't believe this is an overreaction, especially when the 49ers are losing receivers. Not that I see it right. Mike Evans left the game yesterday. Right. And and Demarcus Robinson went down to he got carded off. But after the game,

Shanahan was asked of Brennan, how you can send option. He just looked at the reporter and no, basically I should say he didn't say it like as dismissively as you just said, he was he was just dismissive, not completely dismissive. I'm strange. You'll see. But this you can't argue with it. Pertus has been terrific. And the the Niners were top my power rankings. After two weeks, well, I mean, yeah, and third, I had him. I had him. Yeah, I had him third. There. Yeah. Yeah. So still top bills are top my power rankings. And then you got Seattle just out of respect. Yeah. And and they also look terrific with Jay. I said doing JSN things. And then the Niners. Yeah. And part of that is because of hurting with all of these receivers going down. And then you look at the Niners, next few games, two more at home, Arizona, which just got the bang thing put on them by Seattle. And then Denver at home before they first game at Seattle, which is a massive week five game. And we assume Sam Donald is going to be back for all of that.

So what else you got over there, Chris? I want to talk about this because, you know, week ones a liar and they, you know, they win at home and they force a bunch of turnovers. You know, like, huh, maybe they are improved and they're kind of carrying this team right now. I read it. Then the bangles go to Houston and did what they did on Sunday and led by the defense. The bangles are the best team in the AFC. Hmm. I'll call that an overreaction for the moment. Yeah. Their defense is vastly improved. I don't think you can argue that right now, right? Absolutely not. I mean, eight sex for the first two games. It took them five games last year to get to eight sex. Yeah. They allowed six points. There are fewest in a road games since week 13 of 2015. I mean, held the held the Texans to 18 yards rushing. They have 1000 percent improved that side of the football. And at this point in time, Borrow hasn't gone on that 400 yard till not. And Jamar Chase, after just having 12 receiving yards in week one, seven catches,

75 receiving yards. Okay. Two touchdowns. Now, kind of a ho-ho-ho. But there's nothing a ho-ho-ho. I'm about that first touch that catches in yards. That first touchdown catch that Jamar Chase had. How do you get his feet down? Well, he stumbled. He stumbled as the ball was nearing him. And then he turns around, locates the football. I don't know how he's he's he kept his feet while locating the football. And then got both feet down while going down to the ground and maintaining possession of the ball. Is the clubhouse leader catch of the year? And I don't know how that's not going to be part of the NFL honors ceremony here in Los Angeles before Super Bowl 61, man. I mean, that's that's a clubhouse leader. It's going to be tough to knock out. And then the second touchdown. That's so sick. And then the second touchdown that he scored was on a Borrow sort of jailbreak to the right. And he he rerouted himself when Borrow was like sort of pointing in a direction as if these guys haven't been playing each other at two different levels of football,

right? So it's only going to start getting better there. You would think to Higgins had another terrific game before Chase caught fire. Chase Brown on top of it. And and it looks like this is going to be a team to be I did choose them to win the AFC North. Yeah. Yeah. I think they and the Ravens are going to come it's going to come down to the two of them. But the bills have looked superb. Yeah, but chiefs are also two and oh, true, but they're both giving up a lot of points. I'm talking about defense here. I think the Bengals defense is better than both Kansas City and Buffalo at this point. And when the offense kind of catches up, like I said last week, Joe Burrow got a match or D when that comes since tonight is not going anywhere. The chiefs defense. I know got lit a bit of gas. A little bit by Jonathan Taylor. But that's what Jonathan Taylor does to most teams. Chiefs short week as well, even though I know they didn't travel. I'm just going to call this an overreaction for the moment because the bills are lagging. And I know you're talking about both sides of the ball and the bills of the bills have given up more than 30 points in going to

and oh, and it's been a while since we've ever seen something like that. But there was a garbage touch that they gave up as well towards the end of last week. All right. So I'm going to just call this an overreaction. But I'm paying those are for real. I am picking up that that that is not an overreaction for. I'm picking up what you're putting down is essentially what I'm saying. Many people's first serious relationship didn't start with a kiss. It started with a kickoff. Or perhaps it was love at first hike. But unfortunately, many of these football lovers don't live in the same city as their team, which is why Mariett Bonvoy has hotels close to nearly every NFL stadium bringing fans closer to the teams they love with over 30 different hotel brands. All right, Chris. What else you got? Let's keep it going. Man, this dude is unbelievable rich. He was often to play the year last year. And I know it's early, but J. Ascent should be in every MVP discussion going forward. I've got a neat stat for you. It's going to be a did you know on our flagship show? I'm preview. I'm going to preview it for you. I love did you know? Jackson Smith and Jigba with his nine receptions, 155 yards and three receiving touchdowns. He's out of base for like 3000 now. Let's not forget. I know you haven't as a Patriot fan. That game was going new England's way. Yeah. A fourth down New England up 10 three and Seattle couldn't tie their shoes together. I got a own 40 with with the Drew lock at a quarterback in a shocking manner because five snaps in. Sam Donald Hertz is goose down. Yeah. And then the first electric play of the year is a fourth down throw over the middle of the jazz and who runs away

from anybody touched. So he now has four receiving touchdowns on the year. Did you know Christopher that Jackson Smith and Jigba has now become just the second player in NFL history to record each of his teams first four touchdowns of the season. Those are the only touchdowns Seattle scored through the air through the air. He's a for his second player in NFL history to record each of his teams first four touchdowns of the season with all coming through the year. The other is a moderate shot for the 1979 Viking. Come on. That is correct. Oh, I made man. J.S. And third player in franchise history with a buck 50 and three receiving touchdowns in a game joins Tyler Lockett and Steve large and all the famous done it twice. 11th game with a hundred receiving yard since the start of last season. He leads the national football league. The only one closest to him is Jamar Chase with seven and all of this coming with the Seahawks and John Schneider telling DK Metcalf, we're not paying you. We are trading

you to the Steelers where all he does is suddenly forget how to catch footballs in crucial moments with all due respect to DK. Okay. There's still more time to come and still more plays to make. And he's got a terrific defense there to suddenly get some offense going and I'm not saying DK is is now less than but Seattle telling DK we're not paying you. We're going to hand the store to Jackson Smith and Jigba as the wide receiver one. You know, scratch our head and a lot of people are like, Oh, is that rookie ready to make that step in year two? Exactly. Yes. Indeed. And what he's done is follow up his offensive player of the year. Season with this type of performance with a backup quarterback means 1000%. This is not an overreaction. But as you know, it's in quarterback award. And it's early not a receiver award. But he's a clubhouse leader for repeating his O.P. O.I. for sure.

Yeah. Yes, sir. I don't know. I mean, I could go on and on about that. And then he's been incredible. He's standing up enough offense for the defense to take care of business. Seattle's allowed tenor fewer points in each of the first two games there sees this season their first time doing so in each of the first two games of a season since 2016. And now they've won 12 straight times including the playoffs, which is a franchise record passing the O5 sea hawks, which as you know, made the Super Bowl. It's pretty amazing what they're doing. And Mike McDonald joins George Seifert to win 16 of the first 18 road games of his coaching career. So they went on the road. They went at home. They went in the Super Bowl. They win with Jackson Smith and Jigba and they're doing it for the first two games without Sam Donald is the first great star. The first offensive play they had the double move for the 80 yard touchdown. Mike and good to get good for Drew Locke. Yeah. He's

doing what a backup quarterback is supposed to do. Yeah. Which is keep things afloat. Yeah. Tell your your your your Super Bowl winning quarterback. Chill. Get back because we got you. And Seattle's next game is at Washington where it very well could be Marcus Mario to which is I know that very well. God it says it's going to be the only question. How long it's going to be that there. So what else is next? Seattle. Seattle. Kibbe controversy. Duff stop it. Let's talk about two and O team from the NFC East, Rich Eisen. Philadelphia Eagles needed a massive comeback in Tennessee. But I'm not buying it. The Eagles are the biggest Fugaisie two and O team in the NFL. Here's my take on the Eagles. All right. First of all, that's an overreaction. All right. It's an overreaction. Barely beat Washington. Barely on a really beast. Tennessee. Yeah. It's a new offense. Oh, again, for gentlemen, hurts. It's a new voice in his helmet. All again. Who is the running back? I get it. I understand. And and and their offensive line is having trouble blocking people.

One guy one guy straight up was like, I'm not good enough. Put me on. I mean, that was landed Dickerson who who is at least is is you know, veteran enough to say something like that. Yeah. Okay. So I understand that. So you could sit here and say, oh, the Eagles are Fugaisie. They sock. Let's call in to the local radio and blow them up. And in Cereonis should be stuffed in a duffle bag and send out a town and like, you know, I mean, like, let's let's, whatever you want to do. Okay. Yeah. Which I don't think is right because it just seems to me at the end of the day, this is the only way the Eagles know how to operate. With drama. This is their oxygen. I get it. They can't do anything easy. They will not. It's not like that. It's willful. But they they they they just don't put their fan base in a rocking chair like ever. And I don't know what it is. Is it the coach? Is it the the quarterback? Is it the locker room? Is it the city? Is it the

oxygen? I don't know what it is. The airspace overfield. But it works because this touchdown grab by Devante Smith was a beautiful ball thrown by Hertz. I mean, it was a great final drive. It should have never come down to that. I know. But it did. Why are we sweating out of winning against the Titans who are bad because it was a hundred frigging degrees out. And they're also still trying to figure out how to work an offense with an offensive line that's either not healthier. Can't block anybody with their best player in a blue tent, freaking out people like you. Yeah. You're on the top of the block. You're on the team because of say, no, I get it. I know. I totally understand it. I like that. Just talking about Philly is causing us to yell at each other. But that's what it is. No. That's what it is. And at the end of the day, move on. calm. You're two and oh. And now you're going to be taking on a Chicago Bears team on a Monday night where they're going to be starting Tyson Baygent. I would assume. Oh, yeah. So go there on a Monday night. Get your revenge for the day after Thanksgiving last year. Send them the one and two. Make yourself three and oh before

you get the Rams in your house. And then, you know, see what happens then. But I mean, how many times do we need to say it? Jalen hurts his only consistency at offensive coordinator in his career in Philadelphia. And then when you throw on his offensive coordinators in college, the only times he's had the same voice in his ear and the same playbook in back to back seasons was Shane Stuykin in the two years before he left to go coach the Colts. That's it. Dayball and Sarkeesian and in college and then Lincoln Riley in college and then Doug Peterson. And then he leaves. And then he's got one after the other after the other after the other. Give the guy a friggin break, man. And it's just two games in. And they're going to have to figure out how to work it. But they're two and oh, I don't want to call it for gays. You are what you are

in the end. Yeah, sure. What else? All right. Uh, this team, this team should be two and oh, and we need to come up with a cool nickname for Tyler Shock because he has this sense as legit NFC contenders. I don't know about NFC contenders, but certainly NFC South. They they have been 100% the best team in the NFC South through two weeks. And they're also a team that you cannot count out. No, that has been an impressive part of their. They're always alive. They're first

too well. I mean, they almost pulled out the win in Detroit. If they just had a better two-point play execution there. They just said better officiating in that game. Well, I mean, there's that too, but I understand that. Yeah. But I have I have the information here in front of me. Let's go on the road and be Baltimore that we declared world beaters and super ball, you know, they did look terrific with Derek Henry, who still got his. Yeah. But at the end of the day, this is a same team that just lights it up in the fourth quarter. And just when you think they're out, they're down and out. It's it's all over. They they actually go ahead and take care of their own business. Yeah. So a Tyler Schuck, there's one thing that I I definitely know that they you should not do is call him a poor man's Josh Allen, which is what Anthony Weaver, the defensive coordinator of Baltimore referred to him as oh, yes, in a what he thought and what shot compliment kind of new was a compliment. But when you call anybody a poor man's anything, sure, you know, team who Josh Allen, you know, you know what I mean. Yeah. And so they are just winning

games because they will not go away. They'll hang in there and then shut to Olavi. Shuck to Bailey. Olavi of Bailey. We got to come over the nicknames for them. I mean, John Johnson. Look, Alvin Camara outtouched Travis Echen. Like this team is their gutsy. And you know, we gave Schuck a lot of grief coming out of old quarterback. What have you? This guy's slinging it, man. He's got like I said earlier about price on one of three quarterbacks over 600 yards this year. You're always in the game with this guy winging it. It's been really fun a lot. Yeah, they outscored the Ravens 15 and nothing in the fourth quarter. And then in the first two games of this year, 25 to three in the first two games this season, they've won the fourth quarter. You're going to win a lot of football games doing that. And he and he and Shucks, the third player in Saints history with a passing and a rushing touchdown of the fourth quarter. Third Saints played to do that in the last 10 seasons alongside Trevor Simeon and Drew Breeze. So those are by the way, two quarterbacks on Paul on different ends of the football rainbow,

if you will. But NFC, we need to see more. I need to see more for the NFC, pal. If they play the Eagles, who you taking right now? Yeah. Where? Neutral site. Neutral site. What is this? A bowl game all of a sudden? Why not? We're going to give you a pop tart to the end. What do you talk about? In Philadelphia. Well, now I'll still take the Eagles. And the Philly fans turned because I got a stancer up two scores in the fourth quarter. This is exact. This is overreaction. I like to see it. Okay. Okay. Next up for them. Very difficult opponent that's yet to lose this year. The Las Vegas Raiders. Well, all rich. The Las Vegas Raiders are coming to New Orleans with Kirk Cousins, baby. Well, it's almost like what he got. It's almost like he got for me. They're almost like we're wired in the matrix with each other. What do you got? With Kirk Cousins, ballin. The Raiders are the biggest threat to the chiefs in the AFC West. No, I think it's still the Broncos. Come on. It's still the Broncos. But I do like what I'm seeing

out of the Vegas Raiders. You have to without Brock Bowers. I think I think you're you got. I mean, what they're doing right now is highly impressive. And they're 2 and 0 for the first time with a rookie coach. First coach, first time he's ever coached. Okay. This is like John Madden. No, since Bill Callahan of 2002. Their last season with a playoff win. Yeah. That's the last time they started 2 and 0 with a coach he's never done it for. And Kirk Cousins with his six passing touchdowns this season. Man, are you kidding me? Todd for the most through two games of a season in Raiders history with Ken Stabila of the 76 team that went 13 and one and one. Come on. Come on. Yes. Yes. You like that. Do you know the last time Cousins had three passing touchdown games and back to back to start the season? I don't. He's never done it before. It's the first time he's ever done it. That's why. Okay. It's awesome.

I love when the Raiders are good. Trey Tauker, a buck 19. That's a game high for him. Second most in a career. Cody White doing his thing. Getting six fumbles. And then Max Crosby at the end of the game on Joe Alps just basically saying. It's trying to stop me holding in the end zone. They four six fumbles. Six. Look at the eyes on Max and then so they're playing well. Okay. And the person who keeps on hitting me up is our boss. Do we know who had them 12 and five? We are three and three. We have them starting three. And oh, we might owe him an apology before losing three in a row to go three and three. And then having a week seven game against the Rams that he says they're going to win at home. But but if the Raiders and the Chiefs are both three in week four, that is just going to be awesome in Vegas. It's going to be great. Yeah, but the Chiefs will be feeling like this is our home. You know what I mean? Because it's where they won the Super Bowl. They never lose their bottle. It's a different feeling, a different vibe. And

and and you know, we have to give it up to as well. Nikobe Dean who, you know, was next level in Georgia. And then had some injury history getting out of the gates in Philadelphia. And there's a lot of, you know, we gave TJ on the flagship show a lot of crap because he chose the Raiders over the Cal boys as a destination. Brother, he can ball out and him behind Max Crosby and the rest of that defense front seven. They're getting after it. They are fun. They are fun. But biggest threat to the AFC West. Let's, hey, the Broncos got jail and Waddle involved in a way that we thought they could. Yeah. And and came up with a big tough come from behind win at home against a big tough Jacksonville Jaguars team that had not lost in the regular season in forever in 11 games. So they they took care of business, Denver. Let's not overlook them. It's actually probably a

nine game win streak that the Jaguars had. It was 11 straight 99, which is the team history longest win streak for them in the regular season. Give it up to Denver. I don't know if you've got a Denver thing. I don't I don't. So just again, it was their sixth win trailing by 10 or more points under Sean Payton. Time the chiefs for the second most such wins including the playoffs over that span. Um, it's got to win. And the bills have seven to lead that category. They're 13 and three, including the playoffs in one score games to start the 25 start since the start of last season. Most such wins by any team in that span. They were they were getting the bang thing putting on them. And you know, we're wondering if Davis Web end has any more running backs to run out there. Part of the reason why you're on that guillotine is because the JK Dobbins getting hurt. Long story short though. Yeah. I still think it's it's Denver. Okay. Let's not discount that yet. But Denver's next few games are a doozy man. That's the thing that Denver needed this one at home. They could not be all in two going into the stretch of a home date with the Rams on Sunday night

at San Francisco at the chargers who we assume are going to start playing better football. I don't think we can just home for Seattle on a Thursday night. That would have been a rough four game stretch to go in an Oh and two going in and one and one really is what they needed. Um, and and kudos to them. Yeah. All right. Two more quick ones and then we'll get to a kind of a new thing we're going to do on the show. All right. Moving forward. Sure. Uh, you mentioned the chargers rich. They're an absolute mess and they're not going to the playoffs. What is going on? All right. The first part that they're a mess is not an, uh, an overreaction. You could just see it with your own two eyes. I don't, whatever, whatever offense that they've installed with Mike McDaniel and and the rest of that offensive staff with Adam Gase and, um, it clearly isn't clicking yet. It clearly isn't clicking yet and you're wondering do they even have the weapons at their disposal is in joku had a wide open pass ball off his hands and then he gets card off. Hampton fumbled and Herbert's throwing bad picks. There's that picture. I saw it of McDaniel and Herbert

sitting on the bench just kind of staring out in a space and Jim's there doesn't really have a frame of reference to deal with this because he's never been oh and two ever. Anyway, wow. And so, um, I, I, I, missing the playoffs is a tall order. Their problem is also the, remember, I just said how Denver gets the all to going into this next schedule is totally straight against charge or drag at Buffalo at Seattle home for Denver at Kansas City and then, um, fittingly, what, um, might be a bye bye. Not just a bye for somebody. So, um, I don't know, I think you got to practice it up and then it's just also the offensive line. Like all was getting abused by Max Crossby. Three fall starts and, and then, you know, but it's a Raiders home game. Yeah, you saw it. It was. Yeah. You saw it. Unfortunately, the chargers are still trying to build that fan base up here in the Los Angeles County area. Yeah. Yeah. Um, missing the playoffs. I'll just still call an overreaction. They still have too many good

players. One would think and think and it's some point, you know, Harball even said, uh, after the week one loss to Arizona that, um, that, uh, he wished they played more in the preseason. It's a new offense. Oh, wait, 21 new offensive coordinators in the NFL. 21, 21, 21. That's a lot. Um, so in this case, you gotta get, you, you'd think they'd come up with a win at least at home against the teams that picked third and first in the, on the clock overall and last year's draft and our, uh, crazy. That about the racing team from 1926. That's the last team to, to face two opponents at home to start the season and lose both with a 200 or worse winning percentage from the year before. And they've seen folded after the third game. I know. Ever it is making that the rounds and having haven't had a little bit of fun with that, but it's definitely not far across the street. No, for sure. Uh, at the chargers facility. I'll just say, I got an overreaction that they look to be a mess, but to miss the playoffs, it's just still too early. Okay. What else? Uh, another team doing it with a backup. Man, who knows how long, uh,

Carson Wentz will be the backup, but the Vikings are playing great. Brian Forrest has the defense ball and they win a tough sloppy game in Chicago. Yes. Yesterday, but they're the best team in the NFC North, Minnesota. I, I can't disagree with that. And the question is, is do you stick with ones? I think you have to. He's earned it. Yeah, but somebody losing their gig due to injury is just not, but that is not, that is just not, that is not the thing anymore. Not the vibe. You want to give to your locker room, man. Like, hey, sorry. I know we brought you in. Sorry. I know that we coached up. I'm sorry. I know that we, you know, we, we, we talked for months that you're the guy. Sorry, you lost your hat and you got hit so hard that you missed the game. But I know. Sorry. It's Carson Wentz's job now. So just sit back. Stay by your phone. We may need you. But isn't it, isn't it easier though? Isn't that some Bryce Young thing a few years ago? It's easier to kind of just ride with the backup until it's a little bumpy. Then go back to the, or you're like, let's see what it looks like with

Carla Murray. Yeah. They still did only have six points towards the end of that game, man. The nine. That's true. I mean, it was, it was off of listen, when I get it and when, and when says the one who emerged healthy, not Caleb Williams, where again, as of this recording, we still don't know how long he might be till he's out and never initially. There was a very kind of kill. And, and, you know, there was video of him walking out of soldier field without any assistance or crutches or anything like that. So hopefully that, that is a good sign that it's not the end of the season. And then we can get him back because, you know, but it does show you that, you know, you've got to keep on snacking wins in the NFL because you never know how it's good for long. It's going to last. So that's your point that you stick with what's working in parts of what's working. You can go to Tampa, by the way, which is next for Minnesota and Tampa is old like a mass too. And they, they look like they're, they're having trouble matriculating. And, and executing.

And Minnesota's forte is to make sure you have trouble executing. And they just took a team that scored 59 and turned them into a team that scored three. So they've got Miami after that too at home. And a visit to New Orleans. So yes, they, they're the best team in the, in the NFC North. Certainly with Caleb out for an unforeseeable future. The Lions having trouble on defense, communicating on the back end and on the offensive line. And then the Packers needing to finally pull one out of their orifice and over time against the Jets. Maybe that's the thing that they need is a short week also coming back home their first game at Lambo against the Atlanta team that might get Penex back. It seems to be that might be the, the magical mixer for team. That just looks absolutely terrible. Our guy Jack Strangler. Jack Strangler. And immediately through a Pixace. It's a Devon Lloyd who had interceptions on back to back. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, but still, I don't think that's an okay action. All right. That's, that's what we're going to do. That's a wrap there. And okay. So we're doing something new here. So the last couple of weeks I've been

getting lots of tweets on Sunday night with people throwing out their crazy overreactions. So yeah, you hit me up in the fourth quarter of the Sunday night. Yeah. To say, hey, I'm getting a ton of people reaching out to me. What? At Chris Brockman. Yeah, at the back without Twitter. And, saying making overreaction suggestions. Crazy. Yeah, it's takes. What if I took my favorite one and we now close each show with that. And I'm like, all right, let's give it a whirl. So, let's give it a whirl. So you have a I have one and overreaction Monday. What are we going to call it? Tweeter, tweet of the week or M tweet of the week. Okay. Maybe we'll have hashtag it at some point moving forward. Okay. Here's the deal. And I chose this one because it combines the last two topics. Oh, chargers and Vikings. Look at you producing. This is a from Noah Hunt at Noah underscore hunt 22. No relation to Ethan. I would think not. Okay. Or Mike. All right. The Vikings should make a Godfather offer to the chargers for Herbert with the way the upcoming schedule looks and how the

Vikings defense looks. Judd is ridiculous. Vikings trade for Herbert. That's ridiculous. Vikings need a quarterback. Why in the world with the chargers, yet is in Justin Herbert. It's not working. It's clearly not working. It won't ever work. And it won't ever work. So just disconnect. Get four first rounders reset. So the man who keeps pumping Justin Herbert, not just up for the Heisman, the Super Bowl and the Hall of Fame. But I perhaps perhaps as a Nobel Peace Prize winner and keeping him up at night after an Oh and two star is going to jettison him and turn things over to I don't even to a trade lance. Trilets. Okay. Yeah. And then go back into the drawing board. Well, they'll bottom out. And they'll draft one of these college kids. Turn it at shamelessly. Awesome. That is the most absurd thing I've heard. And that rhymes

in a while. So Noah Hunt, I kind of I kind of dig that. I do too. So if we can find the a tweet where we're closer to the strike zone, like I'm tapping my helmet. And that ABS, that ABS is like a foot out of the strike zone. Maybe like four inches. Something that could make me think there's just no Godfather off for Herbert. We just said, you know, hey, you've got a guy in Wence who just made his, I think it just came up with his hundredth career win with a veterans. You got two vets. A first overall pick and a second overall pick on from other teams trying to make a way, the name for yourself. I imagine part of just to game it all out. You're flipping JJ McCarthy back to his old college coach in this trade. Why not three first rounders and JJ McCarthy. If the chargers go four and 13, why not think about it? Not going to happen. Jim loves this guy more than life itself. It ain't going to happen. But

well done. Well done. I like big finish. I think we'll skip with it. Keep them coming at Chris Brockman on Sunday night football. So, so during the Sunday nighter between Denver and the Rams, let's go up. Maybe we'll read your tweet. Fire them off on the air. Oh my god. Just making a little bit more sense, sensible than that one. I just like it tied everything together. That wraps it up for the overreaction Monday podcast.
