About this episode

“This is Matt Rogers from Lost Culture East. This is with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang. This is Bowen Yang from Lost Culture East. You know when people try a new food and suddenly it's like, okay, hold on.”From the transcript

Editorial cartoonist Ted Rall and political analyst Jamarl Thomas deprogram you from mainstream media every weekday at 9 AM Eastern time. \

Today we discuss:

• In an indication of how radicalized international relations have become, Prime Minister Mark Carney says that Canada is preparing for the “extreme tail risk” that US President Trump might order military action against Canada.

• ICE left a U.S. citizen from Evanston, Ill., injured on the ground with broken teeth after he was brutalized and detained in another incident of mistaken identity. Meanwhile, Trump is reconsidering his deal to import Argentine beef.

• The New York Times reports that Mary Peltola, an Alaska Native running for Senate, runs a chaotic political operation marked by tumult—angry and profane outbursts at aides, and shoving an aide. Legit criticism or a sexist double standard?

• Campaign finance records cited by ProPublica show that a shell company established by fraudster Martin Kao made a pay-to-play donation to a super PAC supporting Maine Senator Susan Collins’ 2020 re-election campaign. Emails show Scott Reed, head of the super PAC backing Collins, knew Kao had used a shell company to mask his illegal donation.

This is Matt Rogers from Lost Culture East. This is with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang. This is Bowen Yang from Lost Culture East. This is Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang. You know when people try a new food and suddenly it's like, okay, hold on. I got a new favorite food. That's the reaction a lot of people are having when they first try Cupid Mayon. Yeah, it's the one with the red cap and the little baby on the bottle. You've probably seen it at the grocery store. And this mayo is different. Mm-hmm. Most mayonnaise uses whole eggs. Cupid only uses egg yolks, which gives it this rich umami flavor. It's smoother, deeper, almost buttery. Once people try it, they start putting it on everything. Egg sandwiches, fries, burgers. Chefs use it, restaurants use it. People who really care about flavor use it. Put it on just about anything. Then you'll understand. Cupid, the original Japanese mayonnaise. Good morning. I don't even know what you guys are talking about. This is deep program with Ted Brogel and Jamer Altama's eight E's Thursday, September 24th, 2026 today on the docket. To give you an idea how crazy international relationships have become, Prime Minister Mark Carney says that Canada is preparing for military action by the United States and Donald Trump against Canada. That's not in a rag. Well, maybe it's in a rag, but it's in the New York Times. Another US citizen misidentified as a legal immigrant has been brutalized by ICE this time in Evanston, Illinois, that's South of Chicago. They even broke out as teeth. We'll talk about that. Two US senators, well, one US senator and a US senator, senator, Hoelhoekful, are in deep shit this morning. We talked a little bit, Jamer Altama, you brought up Susan Collins and the troubles that she's facing relating

to allegations that she broke federal campaign law in a very serious way. That's now being added by another New York Times report. This is Mary Peltola, who's the Democratic nominee for the US Senate in Alaska. She basically is being accused of being another Amy Klobuchar meet girl. It's funny because we just brought up Amy Klobuchar yesterday in the show, not apropos of nothing in particular. And this just came up. So it's only how that comes up. We are here Monday through Friday, 9 AM, Eastern time. Monday's Wednesdays and Fridays, we go till a full two hours to 11 on Tuesdays and Thursdays we have the TMI show at 10 AM. So that cuts us off at 10 AM on Fridays. I have the DMZ podcast. And don't forget 7 and 9 Monday through Friday in the morning. That's Eastern time to tune in Jamer Al's show solo. OK, that's a lot. Please like, follow and share the show. Please continue to support the show. OK, good morning Jamer Al.

How are you doing this morning? I'm doing fine. I'm doing fine. I want to add one more story to it. And it's not that this person is in trouble. It's just intrigue. Christian cinema. Did you know you've turned a bodyguard with a bodyguard apparently trashed her place $200,000 worth of damage? He is apparently. Apparently she likes artwork. She has a lot of artwork that ended up at the bottom of the swimming pool. Yeah, he basically wanted her to post something on Twitter. But I don't know what he wanted her to post on Twitter. And she told him no. And he flipped out. Now just for the audience, just in case they don't know. She was having a bit of an affair with her bodyguard. I saw the guy. And I've got to myself. She couldn't do better than this house. I saw the guy that thought, when you look at the mug shot, and I was like, this is the guy? Yeah, I mean, look, she has a certain something, right? Yeah, she's not like a classic beauty. But you know, I mean. But there's something there that I like.

She does. She's sexy. No question. She's, no, when people say, can you be pretty and not sexy? She's an example of, I mean, can you be sexy without being pretty? She's not ugly, but she's not pretty. But she's definitely sexy. And he's, I think, you know, this reminds me when Arnold Schwarzenegger got with his nanny. And I saw a picture of her. I was like, she was just what was lying around. You know what I mean? Just you. And that's when I saw the Kristen cinema, you know, 39-year-old dude. I was like, man, that kind of looks like he sleeps hard sometimes. I mean, it's like, whoa. Although mug shot is never a great moment. True, but I can't see that, like, I can't see a good moment for this guy. No, I'm agree. I'm extrapolating, like, clean him up. Ricky Lake makeover. I'm like, hmm, yeah. I didn't see it. Yeah, it's like, I didn't see the woman who was arrested in the last of leg.

The woman was arrested for having sex in Florida with the family dog. And she had a great mug shot. And she's a dogfucker, a legend dogfucker. And she was, she definitely broke. She didn't go the knick knulty route. Like, she looked great in the mug shot, you know? Yeah, well, that dog obviously had to come and use. He probably said it. Little slider, in particular. I saw him in the hotel. He was like, Christian, Christian, come on, boo. You could do that. I didn't know that TMI got moved up an hour. Why happen? I'm so confused. I thought it was a confusing time. I never thought I'd lived to see a time when the government of Canada, would have to prepare itself, steal itself against the US military attack from the US. But you are. Well, it is a time onward in fairness, though, TMI. That is a time onward tradition. I mean, that has been Canada twice.

The last time was in the 1850s, we nearly went to war over with the war with the British Empire over a pig. Look it up. There's actually a crisis. It can be in farmers shot in American pig and never started a war. Yeah, that's true. So, you're just not going to stop that. But this is North America where if it happened before Tuesday, nobody remembers it. This is America. What are you talking about? It happened yesterday. No one knows. That's true. Very true. How do you all think my mobshot would look? Just brutally awful. Probably pretty much the way you always look. Yeah. I'm opening up. It's smile. Okay. Well, a smile is a good idea because that picture is going to be all over the place. Well, it depends on how to get you in there for the mobshot. It's like, right. Is this your last stand, mobshot? You know, I don't know. I always assume it's what. I always assume it's my last stand. I'd like to take a page out of the apostle Paul. My favorite one is the Frank Sinatra one that's in every pizza parlor, you know, where

he's just sort of like what? You know, who is Sinatra? He's a politician. I don't even remember what he was arrested for. Not a do I. But you know, Sinatra was Sammy Davis. All those guys had like mob ties and stuff like that. But I don't think this had anything to do with it. I think it was something like, you know, maybe shoplifting or something stupid like that. Oh, you mean when he was a like kid? Yeah. Yeah. You've seen it. He's a very young and he's, I mean, he all, he aged great. He always looked great. But. Yeah. I always think to myself like what Sinatra's thing is like a man's man like Jill Scott is a woman's woman like when they're doing their albums, their music. It's like it's very unapologetically a man. Men would always prove that type of truth. Like, oh God, man, he's so good. Yeah, let's talk about Canada. Let's talk about Canada. All right, let's get to it. But is Carney playing to his.

And just for the audience in this and just for the audience, he was having an interview with New York Times. And in the New York Times piece, Carney made the point of saying it would be irresponsible if I didn't pay for a military. Potential military attack by the US is a tall risk. But still, you have to prepare for it because. A long tail risk he used, which is that term, which is sort of like a, you know, a calm term. Yeah. Is he playing to his Canadian base? Is that what this is? You know, hey, we have to pretend, you know, we have to potentially prepare for an invasion by Trump. He threatened greenly with military force. He's threatening the South America with military force. He put out the map of all of Canada and South America and even British colonies and French colonies. That are supposed to be America territory. So we got to prepare for this. Okay, but the US hasn't built up any military forces at that kind of. And we don't really need to. This is, you know, like in the doctrine of preemption, you're allowed to, you know, you're allowed to attack if your enemy's forces are masked on the border.

And you're here. Okay, but we're the United States. We're already masked on the border. You know what I mean? Like we're right there. But don't you have to build up some military contingent to go after Canada if you're going to do it? I would think honestly, I have a feeling that this is probably something the US could take care of over a weekend. I mean, it's so sparsely populated, right? I mean, there's, I mean, 50% of the economic or I think that's right. But a very, very high percentage of economic activity in Canada is all in Quebec. Right. So if you merely control Montreal and Quebec City, I mean, the games half over. And if you, you know, you can't imagine Ottawa is going to be terribly difficult to get rid of. So if you have Ontario and Quebec provinces and even then you don't need the northern parts at all, that's just Tundra where bears live. You know, that's it. Game over. You don't care about Vancouver. You can scoop it up later. You should take it. I mean, that's probably, I mean, look, I read this in a number of ways.

Like you, I would imagine this is also for Canadian domestic consumption. And rightfully so. I mean, the Canadians are stirred up and it's not without cause. Whip them up. Whip them up. Yeah. And on the other hand, this is also that thing where, you know, governments have to have contingency plans for every possible thing, right? So right now, the United States, I guarantee you, has an invasion plan in a dusty file cabinet somewhere for the US invasion and occupation of Vanuatu. And we have a what if we're attacked by Cuba? What, you know, who knows, right? So they, you know, the Canadians are no different. They have a, they're a real country. They have a military. They have to have, they have to have contingency plans. And he was clear about saying like this is not like we, you know, we don't think this is going to happen, but just in case. But I thought the, the mere fact that he could bring this up and he's not a stupid man. In an interview with the New York Times tells me that this is, this is, this is a, this is a message for, this is not a message for a Canadian audience who are reading, you know, the Toronto star.

This is, this is for an American audience. Like this is how much I'm telling you guys how much you guys have scared us and help his stuff we are. Yeah. Well, scared the world. Yeah. I mean, like Donald Trump threatened to attack Greenland. Right. Right. And the Greenlanders are more to the point that Danes rolled. Yeah. I mean, so it's like this is that like we're just going after brown people. But we're just going after Persians. It's not that. It's we're putting the world on notice. When don't again, when Donald Trump put that map out. I'm sure there's a missing racist. Right. We have equity. We have equity in our militarism. You know, credit, right. He's equal opportunity. He's like, hey, I like that too. Yeah. Yeah. But we're white people. We don't care. That you don't. That's cool. Yeah. It's like, he's equal opportunity. He's not being racist about it.

Good for him on that. From economics, that point. It makes sense. I mean, Canada is all this tar sand that have a crap to natural resources that we want that we need that we covet. And I mean, to the point Jay, do you think about this? And those bear rugs are going to look nice on our. Yeah, whenever I play civilization and I've got to know about you. By the way, we've got to pick up our civilization again again. Do you ever spawn and you're right there to the neighbor who's huge with a crap ton of resources? No military to sing like right there. Like I want that. Do you ever just go across the border? What do you ever go across the border when you place them and take it? If so, that's that. I mean, that's human condition. It's like we were giving them the option of being a governor. You didn't want to take that. Try it. And then at a point you say, Hey, man, we feel under threat by Canadian Mounties. And that's all that. Right. You think Canada has nuclear weapons and we can't allow Canada to have new. I mean, this was literally wasn't some Bill Murray movie or something like in the 70s or 80s where it can't.

And each the US. Yeah. White bit up. So it's literally it's literally a joke. Like literally it was a comedy. The Monica Lewinsky thing came from the Wack the dog thing the idea that the US played up as if Canada was going to invade America in order to get away from some scandal. That will take a place in America. That's what they make right. Wack the dog. I think. Wack the dog. Yeah. And that's what the race came from when Bill Clinton was trying to they claim the Bill Clinton launch airstrikes in order to distract from Monica Lewinsky and Wack the dog. Yeah, the Canadian thing. I look I am being tongue in cheek when I said we should take Canada. I hope so. But that is what we did to Greenland and that is what we did to Venezuela. That is what we did to Iran. And what we're about to do to Cuba. That's what we did to Mexico. I mean, this isn't. I mean, this is not a new phenomenon. Right. No, but what the thing is will it but will it stick? Right. I mean, anyone as the Afghans can tell you anyone can invade.

But can you occupy? Right. Occupation is hard. So, you know, I mean, just be clear. I'm that truly suggesting suggesting we should make. I don't want to make sure. I don't want people to like ma saying we should take Greenland and Canada. No, no. Like we can't even run our own country. Right. I mean, like are you kidding? I mean, this country is like it's it's a cesspool with like declining birth with declining. Infant with rising infant mortality. We can't send our kids to college anymore. Everyone's broke is shit. The economy's a disaster and just you wait. And yeah, now I mean, it's it's it's it's nuts. We should do some comments and then. Yes. All right. This is Rick Burgess from the Rick Burgess show. I want to talk to you for a second about something most of us put on autopilot car insurance. If you're just letting your policy auto renew year after year without shopping around. I'm telling you you are probably throwing money away. Race change all the time and staying loyal to one company can end up costing you big time.

That's why you need to go check out and sureify. I went to ensureify.com to test it out myself and I was blown away by how easy it is. In about two minutes, totally free, you can compare actual real time quotes from over a hundred top insurance companies all side by side in one place. No, endless phone calls, no pushy sales pitches. Go see what you could save right now at insurify.com. That's insurify.com. This is Matt Rogers from Los Cultures. He's with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang. This is Bowen Yang from Los Cultures. He's just Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang. Okay, we've been talking about Cupid male for a minute now, Bowen. Wow, the feedback we're getting. I mean, so many of you all love this stuff. You're stopping us in the street going, I love Cupid.

And if you're thinking, wait, what is Cupid? Uh, do you not have the internet? It's the OG Japanese mayonnaise. The one with the red cap and the little baby on the bottle. Once you know what, you start seeing it everywhere. People ask what makes it different from basic mayo? Well, the answer, egg yolks. Cupid is made with egg yolks only giving it this incredibly rich, umami flavor that elevates everything. Burgers, fries, sandwiches, chicken, noodles, chefs use it, restaurants use it. People who really love food and flavor use it. Whatever you're eating, Cupid hit. So if you haven't tried Cupid yet, find the bottle with the red cap and see what everyone's talking about. You'll understand Cupid, the original Japanese mayonnaise. Uh, let me say this real quick. I mean, wouldn't, wouldn't, if we're going to be, if we're going to be fighting wars and stuff, building an empire, wouldn't make sense to actually take over, actually take over a country that would benefit us. And it's, it's up occupied Afghanistan for 20 years, but you got nothing out of

at least Canada would give something of a material benefit to the empire, unlike Afghanistan. So you can at least make the logical choice. And think about all, all of the illegal pot that comes across the, the Northern borders and massive national security issue because Americans don't grow their own pot. It's all coming from Canada. You got to wait, wait, pots coming. I don't think that's true at all. I wrote what? I mean, first of all, the Canadian isn't, isn't good for pot. Trust me, I live in Montana. The, the Canadian pot trading is a great, the vast majority of the weed that's sold on the street in the United States, originates now in legal, um, grower in, in legal grow houses, right? Basically, since legalization, there's to, there's overproduction. And they can't sell, not in that they can't sell enough of it through legal dispensaries. So it's mostly just dumped on the street. So most of the weed you can get from like, you know, Jobab is perfectly good. It's the same shit you can buy at the dispensary because it's great market. Why we off the street at this point?

Those hacks. I just don't, I don't get what I mean, like look, man, I, I, I just see it. There's no taxes on. No. Believe me, street weed. I mean, I don't buy it. But I do. I know someone who does street weed. I know someone who does and, um, you know, the same shit is, is literally half the price. And it's the same shit though. Like if I go to the weed shop and I say, Hey, I would like tie lights. Yeah. And it's okay. Well, here's your container of tie lights and tie lights may be expensive. Right. Or Northern lights dispensary weed is expensive. Yeah, but it's the same exact stuff. It's not the same thing. It's the different products that different products because it's grown in the same exact facility, usually in California. Ted, there are so many different brands of weed. I know. I've been dispensary. I know. Right. I guess I'm saying it's not the same. If I'm going in, so for example, if somebody says almost something for Nauron, you can order that specific strain though from, uh, and like in New York City, for example,

it'll be delivered to you. Right. From a street vendor. Is that what you're saying? From a, yeah, yeah, exactly. You go out to, they text you. They say, come out to the street. A guy drives by hands at you. And he's selling it off the street. He's not selling it from a dispensary. No, yeah, exactly. He's selling it from, he probably has it in his apartment. I'm very doubtful. Well, I believe that you can get it on New York and I believe that they can deliver it in New York and you're in DC. I can't imagine it's any different. It's a real city. Well, I'm in Richmond. Oh, wait, wait, wait. Rich, it's a real city too. I mean, like, I mean, a callous spell would probably be not they don't have delivery systems and stuff like that. But well, they had delivery systems, but they're from dispensaries. That's what I'm trying to say. Right. Right. That's not what I mean. Let me talk about. We have a lot of gray market weed stuff that sort of falls off a truck. You know, you see it is. There's a huge amount of gray market stuff. Like a DC, you can go to like a weed house and they would have just. Our tree. Let's do some comments here. Okay.

Ray is taking me to account for my bedhead. I don't have bedhead today. This is late. This is normal. You should see my bedhead. I look like Nicole McNulty. Jackson, would you do a PhD? Would you do a PhD? Robbie, did you want to school? That's a, I mean, okay. So yes, yes, I would, but I'm worried about the opportunity cost of like, you know, it takes like five years on average. Can't take longer. And during that time, I'm not doing this podcast. I'm not during cartoons and or not as much as I should be. So I'm 63 years old. Do I now want to be 68 years old and with a PhD, which is cool. It would be fun to have besides which I would also need a master. So seven years, I'd be 70 years old. I think it'd be great if I had the money and the time to do that. I would totally, I love college. I love studying, but also a PhD isn't really college where you get to hang out at seminars and shoot the shit and solve the world's problems of PhD.

She has a lot of individual research, which is pretty lonely. So I guess I'm sorry to weasel. I'm like, maybe how about you guys? No. I mean, it's nice to be a doctor, but the work that you put into it probably, no. There's other things I would prefer, I would prefer to be a chess master. I would prefer to, I'd go back to a master in history. I've never been to college, I'll say the point. I just see the point. It's, it's well, seriously, let's just say you're rich and you have nothing better. And you can do anything you want. College is a lot of fun, especially when you're young. You know, it's like it's, you're, you're meeting, you're hanging out with other people and studying and, and trying, and the world feels open. And you have like possibilities and you can, you have access to research institutions.

It's a, it, it can be a lot of fun. I think it's maybe not as fun if you're at a community college or something. I've heard your stories about studying. I don't think, and I'm a very man. So I think I could study the same way that you did with your activities. You probably wouldn't be married when you're going to college. Most people aren't. And, yeah, you would be, yeah. I mean, Hey, I was a good, I was a good student. I graduated with honors. Yes. Yeah, you're going to get a, get a three year degree on the three sums laying, laying pipe 401, not just, not just three sums. Her majesty, Lindsey Graham says subheifers. And Jackson, did you dye your hair since yesterday? Ted, you look different. Yeah, it's great. It's, it's, I look greater. Yeah, it's, I think it's just the light. It's different. Okay. And no, I did, I don't dye my hair. I've never dyed my hair ever in my life. I can't say I never would, but I actually, I like my hair looks right now. Is it the laptop versus the iPad?

Oh, that's probably what it is. That might be it. Yeah, you put your different camera because I have an external camera, you know, on my home computer. Thank you, Ray, for gifting a subscription to D program. We do need the subscriptions. Moth 36, the dog can now be an FBI agent. So true, so true. Peruvida, guys, I highly recommend you pay subscribe. Ten cents picks of him and his briefs on request. Uh-huh. You don't need to wait for him to get up and let the cat inside the room. Okay. Liza Lahn, do you know how big Canada is? You're just do. Yeah, I know Canada is huge. I mean, we're, but I think the point that we're making is most of it is empty. It's like if you're in the Iceland, Iceland is mostly empty. Like it's huge lamas and it's like, you don't need to control the, the, the Canadian wildfire zones. Yeah, you don't need the polar bears.

Polar bears can do what they do. They've got that under control. Yeah, just get the part that's important. Yeah. So Montana, you take three, I mean, you take three cities. You have a entire state. Yeah, you don't need all of it. Yeah, it's, it's, I mean, honestly, New York, New York, if you wanted to control New York state, all you need is the city. And maybe you could use Buffalo. You don't even need Albany. Yeah. Yeah. So yes, we know Canada is huge. Yeah, I know. People center. And yes, Americans are incredibly stupid. Um, FU. So I took community college classes for 12 years and got 15. What? 15 associate degrees and five and three certificates. It's cheap and no stress when old and doesn't matter. So I ended up going to 15. I got, I'm with the Longwood first. I was sick most of the time. I was in Longwood. I ended up coming out. I ended up going back to J. Sergeant Reynolds, ECPI. I got two certificates from both of them. Well, that's not true. One was a certificate.

One was a, um, associates degree that I went to get the, um, bachelor's from New York Institute of Technology and have a herbal bachelor's degree that I never use. This is, I mean, we had a thing in Richmond where if you went to community college, you could skip the first two years of your regular college. If that makes sense. But that's, it doesn't work great. Yeah. There's stuff that you need to graduate with the bachelor's. Yeah, I graduated with a bachelor's from New York Institute of Technology, um, J. Sergeant Reynolds. I got my associates in and I got my software degree from ECPI. ECPI was like a college year. Then we became kind of like a community technical college here in in Richmond. But I got associates from, I got a degree from that, which is what I used to go into software and which start doing the software development stuff. Yeah. Now you wouldn't even need a degree, right?

I mean, not really. I mean, they care more about your skill and capability. In fact, they have a class. They test you. Yeah. And tested. Yeah. I mean, I think that technical tests anyway, when you, when you go into software, usually there's like a panel of people who you're talking to and they're like evaluating you. And sometimes they have you doing stuff on boards and coming up with software logic and all of this other stuff. Yeah. Technical interviews can be intense. So, okay, well, let's, I think we should keep. Oh, let's see. Did I hit all the comments here? Oh, I got to say if I had to do, if I really wanted to do things my way, I'd honestly get a history master's a PhD combo. And it would probably, I know it's stupid, but it would probably help me sell my books better. What's that stupid knowledge for the sake of knowledge is not a negative thing? Yeah, no, I mean, I mean, just it's just the accreditation thing. I look, I like, I like dusty archives.

I mean, I like handling documents that the president of the United States handled. It's just cool. But, but I mean, I think, and obviously you learn a lot, but I'm just saying it's stupid that, you know, someone would buy your book because it says, Ted, Rall PhD on it. My mom used to say that I should have used my formal name, my legal name for my books, because I would be taken more seriously. She was kind of ridiculous, but I kind of see her point, like, you know, like Frederick T. Rall III, like, I mean, it just sounds very serious. Yeah, it sounds very serious and pretentious, a shit, which is something I do hate. All right, so that's it for the comments for now. Should we talk about ice? Yeah, we should talk about ice. We could or we can move on to I want to talk. I'm really dying to talk about Mary Peltola. Shall we talk about her? Yeah. Okay, so Mary Peltola is an Alaska native running for she's

the Democratic nominee for Senate. Democrats were very, very excited about her. And basically the she's so she's was kind of favored to win probably in what would likely be a blue wave election this November. And she's still might the New York Times just published this piece that basically says she's an asshole. Basically she she pushed one of her aids shoved him in the chest almost knocked him over. She apparently has a raging temper. She likes to dress down people in front of others all reportedly allegedly all the normal weasel words. My personal favorite. You'll know why is that she was taken to task for using the R word retard as in fuck that retard. She's. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So and she also used the F word where she was referring to

someone as a faggot. Like really? And I'm like, okay, so definitely shades of Amy Klobuchar. So. She has two principal lines of defense here. Well, three, one is I knew her and I worked for her and she was great. I didn't see anything like that from some people. That's not much of a defense. Okay, then because it's like so what maybe she was nice to you. Okay, then the then the next line of defense is this is sexism, you know, double standard dudes act like this all the time. Then and so what's with this? This is just like what y'all did to Amy Klobuchar. That was also her principal line of defense. And then and then you know, there's also people who are just like, I don't care. I'm going to vote for a Democrat against any Republican no matter what team team blue no matter what. And this is really defense. That's an annulment. Yeah, that's just yeah, that that's right. And so wait, what is so she said?

What was the other thing that she said? Oh, yeah, she said that a lot that in 2023. She suffered two big deaths in her family. Her mother died and her look, I feel that. You know, my mom died six years ago and I'm still not over it. So I totally feel that. And also her husband died in a plane crash. So she was raising their as a widow raising her kids and she says, I was look, I was short tempered. I was, you know, strong out and grieving and so I, you know, I took it out on myself. I may have taken it out on my staff, right? So these lines of defense are somewhat in conflict with each other, right? Cause like I didn't do it. But if I did it, this is, you know, it was because of of my grieving. The one that interests me is the sexism. What? I don't know, but because it's like, I even wrote it down. Oh, you said I wrote it down.

Go ahead. No, no, no. Oh, you know, so reason reason it interests me is first of all, I don't know that I buy the, this is Rick Burgess from the Rick Burgess show. This is Matt Rogers from Los Cultures with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang. This is Bowen Yang from Los Cultures. There's Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang. Okay, we've been talking about Cupid male for a minute now, bow and wow, the feedback we're getting. I mean, so many of you all love this stuff. You're stopping us in the street going, I love Cupid. And if you're thinking, wait, what is Cupid? Do you not have the internet? It's the OG Japanese mayonnaise. The one with the red cap and the little baby on the bottle. Once you know what you start seeing it everywhere, people ask what makes it different from basic mayo? Will the answer egg yolks? Cupid is made with egg yolks only giving it this incredibly rich, umami flavor that elevates everything burgers, fries, sandwiches, chicken, noodles, chefs use it, restaurants use it, people who really love food and flavor use it. Whatever you're eating, Cupid. So if you haven't tried Cupid yet, find the bottle with the red cap

and see what everyone's talking about. You'll understand Cupid, the original Japanese mayonnaise. Assumption that men behave like this all the time and don't get called to task for it. I think that's something that mean women like Hillary Clinton say. And, you know, I've worked for a lot of male bosses, mostly male bosses and some female bosses and they ran the gamut. You know, I've had like by some counts like over 40 jobs and I've had lots of freelance clients, hundreds of them. So, you know, I've had lots of supervisors, editors and so on. And I got to say that like men tend on average, at least in my experience, to be better bosses than women. And they tend to be calmer and they tend not to go to like these very bad places like belittling and name calling as quickly as women. Now, I think I guess what I really want to say is if a dude was running for

Senate and these same allegations came out about him, I suspect they would be as notable and they would be as noticed as the fact that it was in this case. It's from a woman. I think it's the fact it's not the fact that she's a mean girl. It's the fact that she's a mean person. And I think the question for voters is, do they or should they care? And that's really the question we should be asking. I'm not even sure it's like worthy of bringing, I mean, I'm not sure in a world where the New York Times every day skips entire countries to cover that this is really worth the space, you know, like her person, the way she deals with personnel in a way. And I have to admit, I don't really care. I would care how she votes. I would care about the policy she promulgates. I mean, you know, I would have voted for Ted Kennedy. I wouldn't have let my daughter ride in a car with him, but I would have voted for him because of his policy priorities. Yeah. You know, I don't Bernie Sanders is apparently very loyal to his wife.

I don't really care. It doesn't affect me one way or the other. But they don't write articles like this about men. I mean, I remember when they're not really like this as my cis women are. Well, one, I don't know that many. They don't, I mean, obviously they're going to be people in the political space that act this way. And I would even like a man, you know, he's like that. Right. Right. From a man who's an asshole, but they don't write articles about this is in a negative context about him being this way. And I got to be honest with you. I would wait you to you that many political people are this way just from the pressure of getting into the positions that they're in. They all yell and curse and carry on and bark at the supporters by definition to get to where they are. Now, it doesn't mean that all of them this way, but I can imagine that getting to this particular position, you have a certain personality type of getting to this position is like they all see, um,

CEOs and politicians of sociopaths and that you own some level need to be that way. And this kind of type of personality, you need to get to the position. People like Sanders who don't want to hit their opponent don't typically get to that position because they don't necessarily want to be who they need to be in order to get there. And I guess my point is they would write this about Klobuchar and Kamala Harris and this woman. But how many? At a really key time, by the way, right? Like just like literally in the clutch, right? Like just six weeks before the election. How many men do they very source like this about? I mean, the way Cuomo acted, they didn't, I mean, this was only like towards the end of his career where they went after Cuomo, but Cuomo acted like this all the way through from the main actor like this all the way through Cuomo stuff was more serious. He was an askrabber. Well, that too. I guess I'm saying maybe they do have a point that the mean girl thing is a mean girl thing like meaning like they make a movie mean boys.

Mean girl. Right. Yeah. Like, you know, men do coming groups and act like basically I guess you would call that a gang. But I don't know. I mean, I don't think this behavior is. And see, I'm in a bubble in this. I don't know. You may be right that it may be this thing of like, well, women need to overcompensate. And then overcompensate, they have this idea in their heads about how men behave and they are trying to behave in a similar way as they think. This is what leadership looks like because leadership has always been male and aggressive and I have to be aggressive. And I've got a dress like a man and cut my hair real short and be an asshole. And yeah, I need to be strong. I need to be militaristic. Yeah, whereas the reality of it is, okay, women don't entirely act this way as bosses all the time. I mean, I've only had maybe one that was that way. And even he wasn't that way all the time. Right? Like he just acted that way when things wouldn't right.

Um, I've had women bosses that were horrendous. And it wasn't because they were women. It was because they were just horrible people. Yeah. Like, like, like everybody recognized them as just being horrible people in this particular context. A woman, I used to work for it as a barista. She was a lunatic. Like, and like just very difficult to be around in general. But that wasn't the norm. Like I had another woman boss that was chill cool and just a really good boss. Oh, sure. And I've had great women female. Yeah. No, I don't know. I mean, it's very possible that this is I'm divided. It could be this is what women think men are in which case they're trying to emulate men when they're getting leadership positions and they may be insecurity on some level in which case they need to behave this way. Um, but the other way could be the media is playing up this mean girl thing because the mean girl is a meme of sorts. And so when they find a mean girl, they like, hey, she's mean to her, her, her staff.

She's pushing the sky. She's hitting the sky, et cetera. The other part to this, I mean, if true, that is a serious matter. I mean, that is assault. It's everything as serious as what Cuomo was accused of. Although with Cuomo was a serial matter. And it was a sexual harassment too. Yeah. Um, the other part to this is that it's interesting is, um, Hey, this is coming just for the election. Also, I'm worried is using the R word disqualifying. Oh, well, so much for my blood. Well, it's a part, right? It's a Democrat, which if you have a Republican, it doesn't really matter. No, if you're independent, it doesn't really matter. I don't think it does. As a Democrat, oh, this is orthodoxy. Part of me liked that when they quoted her and it was like, where, like, oh, he was, she was pissed because some guy sent some fundraisers sent out a photo of selfie of him and her together and he wasn't supposed to. And he just, and she texted his dad for that. We heard.

I'm like, I like this lady style. I literally was like, you know, I love you. The same way. Fuck that retard. I love a woman that would drop enough bomb. I think it's very. Yeah. Me too. You think it's all how to deal with it? I don't want it to be, you know, if it's, I had an interview. I like the fact that she didn't feel the need to be woke or, you know, that she could talk like a real person behind closed doors and it kind of sucks to think that we live in this world where every time you text of you, you, you text out of brain fart, it's going to end up in the fucking New York times. It's not a brain fart. She was pissed off. Well, she meant to. Well, I think I probably have a different take than y'all. I think we're going to see more of this with women bosses because women are performing men in the workplace. So you're going to have more women bosses. You're more more women executives and women like women, women senators and women like to put knives and other women. I mean, listen, I worked on healthcare. It's a very woman dominated industry. I mean, it just is. And you are swimming and they see a vestiges.

And that's one of the reasons I wanted to work from home is because. I'm not going to pretend. I don't know what you're talking about. It's bad enough to be a woman in that environment. Be as the only dude like the only guy with extra plumbing. Like I come. I'm like, come into the office. You were like Clint Eastwood in the big guy old. It was bad. And the thing is like, for example, there was just not getting as much. There was this one lady who I had to train. And they used the word trained loosely because frankly, she was stupid to borrow a ted-as-machuse. She was retarded. And so my job was medical records, which involved reading and reading comprehension and being able to actually understand the document that that's the front of you. I spent six months training this lady. When she finally got done training, she called me over to. She called me over to talk to her about a about an oncology note. The first day I asked her, so did you read it? She said no. I so read it.

Do your job. If you need help, back to me again. She was HR. And I got I got to have a six weeks. This is to be training because I was too rough on her. I heard her feelings because I told her to read a document and do her job. That was sexist on my part. So women who are squealing about this. Come on. Who looks like in the mirror? Watch this show who would not say that you deserve more sensitivity training. Well, it's probably why I'm so unsensitive is because I've had enough of all this. I've all this crap. But seriously, Ted, if I don't do the job that you don't pay me for, I get called to the carpet for not doing for not doing the job. I'm not saying he retired. No, I'm correct. But I mean, that's the point you would deserve it, but I wouldn't do that. No, well, of course, in which case I was to you then to find yourself a lower paid producer to replace you with a weight. You can't. I have to pay you to do the job at that point. Right. But but the I guess the point I'm trying to make is is that as women, as women climb more and more and more in the workplace,

just to see more and more and more of the stuff coming on and women are very toxic each other. It's just a fact of life. Sorry, ladies, Herschik feelings. It's the truth. I mean, I worked in all male workplaces and I've worked in all female workplaces. And boy, I mean, all male is taught is not good. It's like, you know, you need that. You need the you need the sexual variety. You need people who are like, you know, you just need people who are more civilized to be present, right? Men aren't civilized, men are savage. But like an all female workplace is so toxic and it's dangerous. You just don't want to be around. So dangerous. Yeah, you're you will be, yeah, you know, only bad things will happen. But anyway, so Mary, so let's get back to Mary Portola, a Peltola.

Yeah, I mean, is it useworthy? Is the question members have passed because I think it is. That's assuming it's true. Well, it's true that they that they had passed. We don't know if it's relevant. Yeah. I mean, look, but that brings up another question, right? I mean, grace under pressure. You know, look, you know, in 2020, during the pandemic, my mom, right before the pandemic, my mom died two weeks before the lockdown. I didn't spend the next year or two, like, you know, screaming at people and calling them names and shoving them. I mean, so I mean, the point is this is a presumably being the United States senator, even albeit from Alaska, would involve like some pressure, some high pressure situations. You'd want to think that, you know, she'd be able to be calm and and address those. I don't know. Maybe. I mean, people handles some differently. Like, I know when I got sick, when I, um, well, ironically, just before the pandemic,

really didn't even have anything to do with the pandemic. Um, when I had the stroke when I was at the job, I mean, in fact, a lot of stuff went wrong that year in 2020. It was like a stroke. It was worth that verse. What does this thing call? Oh, what does the thing call? I can't think of the name of it. Mindy didn't let me come into work. Mindy was like, dude, go home. And I was trying to, I was trying to do the job. Um, at one point, he was like, dude, go home. Go home. Yeah. You know, this could be contagious. Um, but a lot of stuff was going wrong that year. And I wasn't, I wasn't popping off. I was distant. Yeah. I know what you're right. People respond differently. Yeah. I want to be left alone devices. I don't want. I'm like you that way. Yeah. And when you stuck with a wife, I don't want to talk about my problems because I already have my problem. And if I talk about my problem, it's like I'm reliving my problem. I'm experiencing it again twice. Well, it's indulging. I was considered it's indulging.

It's like it's, it's, it's, it also doesn't do any good. It's almost never that someone says, he never thought of. And I'm like, oh, shit. No, I didn't know that. You know, and see, I think this is the difference between many. And women, if we're being honest, like women would more so indulge. Yeah, women always say, oh, you feel good after you talk about something. I'm like, I don't. Yeah, I don't see the point. The, I mean, but unless someone has a practical solution. Like if someone says like, you know, like when I was dealing with the L.A. times, if someone said, oh, I know a good lawyer who would be interested in your case. I already talked to him. He wants your case. Okay, that's really useful. Thank you so much. That's how I think men get to throw. I really think men get to strong. Like on some level, I think this one man eat their guns. The, when I was housewives, one of the things that blew my mind about housewives

is the way they talk about stuff that I would consider to be too weak to talk about. And they would just openly have these conversations. And I'm like, whoa, people talk about that. And it was, oh, right, the housewives. Better doing this. He's like, like, the house. This is Rick Burgess from the Rick Burgess show. It's Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang. Okay. We've been talking about QB mail for a minute now, Bowen. Wow. The feedback we're getting. I mean, so many of you all love this stuff. You're stopping us in the street going, I love QB. And if you're thinking, wait, what is QB? Do you not have the internet? It's the OG Japanese mayonnaise. You'll understand QB, the original Japanese mayonnaise. No, the house husbands that are doing this. Husbands don't really get into it. I mean, they may a little bit, but they're usually talking about external stuff. The women are talking about internal stuff that is effectively bugging them. You think to yourself, is this what you guys spend your time on? Even in show them, they're like, oh God, they're added again. They're able on some level to maintain your friendships and relationships because they're willing to kind of air this stuff. I don't know. Maybe there is a value and just airing stuff. Oh, clearly there is. I mean, it makes a lot of people feel better. Yeah. But I mean, some I'm not. No, group. I mean, I did, I was a, you know, I supported my mom took care of, I was a caregiver for my mom's head Alzheimer's. It was hard. I was, I'm an only child. And I went to a support group and that was useful just basically like my main takeaway though was, man, my situation sucks, but it could suck worse when I heard these stories can be worse.

Yeah, yeah, I stopped feeling sorry for myself. I guess, I guess the main point is the, well, I mean, that doesn't, that wouldn't stop me from necessarily with him. Well, I guess I can see why it would. But it's still the situation, still the situation, even though other people's maybe worse is still my own situation. In that case, I don't know. I mean, I give her a little bit of grace if it's true, but that's what's true. Like I don't doubt that the people died and I don't doubt that it was hard on her. Whether that was why she was an asshole to her people, she might have just been an asshole to her people. It just so happened to saw this stuff might have just been going on. I don't know. It sounds like she's kind of excessively spicy, right? I mean, you know, just in general, I mean, I think that's probably what's going on here. She should probably take up hunting and go shoot some animals. That's where they'll take it out during your spare. Yeah, yeah, go shoot something that can bite, you know, then that'll keep you busy. The main point is that cinema was also rough to her to her staff for some like that.

Yeah, I mean, they seem to do this for women. They don't seem to do this for men. I haven't read articles. Oh, this guy is very and as I guess that's true. And I guess, yeah, I mean, I guess the question is. Yeah, I mean, Bill Clinton was an asshole. Yeah, nobody knows. Like when I so I had a friend. He was a he worked in the West Wing of the White House. He's a former cartoonist and he ended up becoming a speechwriter for Bill Clinton. And at that time, my cartoon's appeared regularly in the Washington Post. And I did a cartoon that the president didn't care for and Bill Clinton walked into my friend's office and threw the paper on the desk and he said, you tell your friend to go fuck himself. What? So he said, said wrong. Yeah, yeah, I did. So he calls me up. And he goes, and he's like the president of the United States has pissed at you. Oh, shit. Like that's not good.

This man can kill me legally. Right? It's not good. So I was proud and terrified at the same time. Okay. Okay. So, but anyway, obviously here I am. Everything's fine. But I mean, by all accounts, he's, I mean, they're all like that, right? I mean, they all have spicy tempers. And I mean, there are exceptions like George W. Bush apparently was like a serious pleasure to work for. Everybody loved to work for him. He was a sweetheart. Donald Trump, a lot of people who, you know, we were close to him for years and the Trump organization like his personal assistant adored him and said that he was always very kind and considerate to them. It's like, you know, sometimes it's unexpected. I don't know. I mean, I guess the question is, should we care as voters? I mean, in other words, should reporters care? I care if she's competent. If she's competent at her job, yeah, that's what matters.

And most people who are competent, what's up done a certain way? If someone is a complete screw up, like someone asked me in the chat, Andre said, Robbie, was your FEMA boss an immigrant? No, she was just stupid. Yeah, like this, like, I'm really told it was told was at one point. She was angry when she was running for Congress because there weren't enough sign or maybe in her current campaign, there weren't enough big yard signs in Southeast Alaska. And she, according to the Times article, somehow to message her staff and basically our yard in the Southeast, our yard, our yard sign game sucks. I'm like, so what she said that? Who cares? She's good for her. She's noticing things. She's on top of things. Yeah, she's just managing her team. Yeah. What should she say in that situation? And by the way, Hitler's secretary thought Hitler was great. Boring though. Put up very. God, man, I can't remember the name of the movie. But at the end of the movie, like she's talking about Hitler, like, all you such a great guy and everything else. I'm so I can what she was saying after the fact like, oh my God,

all these people are killed and everything else. The person relationship is one thing. How the person is is something else. Yeah. So I don't know. Some of the subject sounds like she's just being a manager. Some of the stuff might sound like she's been excessive. But again, I don't know if they would write the story about a guy. Massive as a comment. You guys need bus drivers and truck drivers. I want out of this hellhole. I'll gladly get Canadian residency or citizenship if I can. This is Rick Burgess from the Rick Burgess show. I want to talk to you for a second about something most of us put on autopilot, car insurance. You'll understand Cupid, the original Japanese mayonnaise. You can go to a Canadian government website, just Google it. And you can find out if you qualify for Canadian permanent residency. It's a point system. Um, and so like the num, it has to do with how much money you have. If you have how many degrees you have, how many certificates you have, how many languages you speak, it definitely helps to speak to like French also. Um, but there's, I mean, it's actually pretty easy. It's much easier and far more direct than our immigration system, which we talk about here all the time. Um, so frasmatas, what was the topic about the bodyguard

trashing the ladies artwork? Who is the principal client protect T? Chris and cinema. Chris and cinema. Yeah, she was her bodyguard was tossing the hard work into the pool. Um, okay, so frasmatas question for Ted and Jamar and the chat. There's a new Kenneth Branagh movie. Oh, that's always of interest to me. Set in the Soviet Union called Mayday was a fun action movie. Takes place in 1988 ish. I would watch. I would check that. And what's the name of it? Ken Brandon. Branagh, he's, he's a very acclaimed director. PW Walker, men, police other men, women defend and justify bad behavior by other women, unless they're better looking than them, then the knives come out. I'm not touching that one. Now I'm not touching that either. We do have to talk about ice. We have in the time we have left. So Evan's to Illinois, that's best known for where Northwest University is Northwestern

University. That's just south of Chicago. Anyway, ice was looking for a dude outside. You can't make this up outside of Mexican restaurant. They saw another dude who looks like the guy that they're looking for. They go up to him and they say, yo, we're taking you in. Let's see some ID and the guys like fuck you. I'm an American citizen. Suck my dick. He should. And so they get furious and they beat the shit out of them. It attracts a crowd. They beat him up. They he they break his teeth. They leave him. Evan. So this goes on for long enough that there's an angry crowd. According to ice themselves, they were forced to flee for fear of being like attacked by the mob. And Evanston PD is called. They show up and you can tell from their press release that they are pissed at ice. Evan said the local local the locals show up.

They see this guy on the ground, unable to get up. Yes, to be sent to the hospital and ice claims. Oh, well, we offered a medical assistance, but he refused witnesses say nothing like that happened. And so this was and you know, it's another case of a US citizen being detained, beaten, you know, I mean, this is just getting it's getting crazier every single day. And while we're talking about it, we should probably talk about the trouble. Looks like he's about to roll back the Argentine beef thing, but anyway. Yeah. Well, how can it he can't press charges? I remember when I had a conversation with Garland about this, it's like outrageous. Because my thing was say for the moment that cops were there and say for the moment, ice agents came up and the guy told them, Hey, suck my dick. I'm an American citizen. Show me somebody. I'm not showing you shit. I'm an American citizen. I don't have to show you anything. And he's right, by the way. And he's right.

Can the cops intervene to prevent him from being attacked or dragged away? And I remember Garland said they're probably not going to get involved. Garland used to be like a chief of, you know, like ahead cop of investigation and everything else. That's outrageous. Like, meaning the fact that the police department won't protect you as an American citizen from these goons of the Trump administration. Because they said, well, this is a federal issue. Yeah, but I'm an American citizen. Yeah, sorry. You got to work that out. And you're a local citizen of the city of Evanston, Illinois. Yeah. Well, whether you're a local citizen or not, you're in their jurisdiction, right? Yeah, that's how it's like, it's amazing. It seems like their authority supersedes the law. There's, I mean, we are seeing a big, you know, some clashes, some jurisdictional disputes of this kind around ice increasingly, right? Like, the Minnesota authorities have been working very hard to try to hold someone

accountable for the killings of Alex Prety and I forget the woman's name in Minnesota, who were both, you know, killed by ice earlier this year. And they're starting to get somewhere. There's increasing examples of local authorities and local prosecutors now inditing ice officers. In some cases, ice sort of lets them be indicted. So there's some accountability, but it's really frustrating. I mean, look, the thing is I can't, what I can't get past is, again, these are unidentified random goons. Like we shouldn't, the media should even say this was ice. They should say like purported ice officers or self identified, yeah, or alleged or unidentified men claiming to be ice officers. That should be the, the nomenclature in all of these stories, except when, you know, people are not wearing masks and they're presenting, you know, lawful IDs and displaying their badges.

I mean, it reminds me of back when I used to go to protests in the 80s and 90s in New York, you know, the cops had these like plastic elastics that they kept by their shields. And if they were about to attack us and assault us, they would cover up their badge. You'd see them take the plastic elastic and cover up their shield members. And you'd be like, oh shit, here we go. And I'd be like looking for the nearest subway, right? It's just like a, I mean, it's like you, it just should be in the Constitution that any agent of the state, whether you're an IRS auditor or a federal agent, FBI agent, you should have to present ID. Like if you watch videos on YouTube, there's tons of examples of alleged FBI agents showing up refusing to present business cards or, which anyone can print a business card.

But refusing to show their shields and their ID and they're, you know, and they're like, well, we're from the FBI. How do I know that? Let me see your ID. Oh, we're not showing you that. I mean, that's even the Gestapo presented their ID. I mean, that should just be the law. Yeah. I mean, if you need to cover up your face as a agent of the state, you don't. I mean, otherwise, why do you need to do it? Right. Right. I mean, they, they will we feel I'm sorry. I don't really think they're in danger. Yeah. I mean, I mean, if put it this way, if they're in, if they're hiding their identity, write it up and unidentified trucks and snatching people. And then it's like, okay, but you're in more danger doing that. Right. Like anybody in that crowd could have pulled out a gun. They can't think that these people are going to happen. It's absolutely going to happen. Yeah. I mean, you're beating the living daylights out of somebody. And they said, yeah, an innocent man, no less for fun. And gratuitously the day after they shot someone.

And so it's like the crowd, not knowing what is taking place. Somebody could easily pull that gun. In Ukraine, for example, when you have those press gangs, one of the videos had a guy pulled an out of gun because of the press gang in order to disperse them from grabbing somebody. Okay, that could happen in the US, especially if you don't know. I'm surprised that all of us people are. Yeah. I mean, it's just outrageous. You're hanging out at a Mexican restaurant. How cliche. I know. I know. It makes it actually does. I love Mexican food. And it really does make me think twice. It makes me also feel like is going to a Mexican restaurant a political act now. I know. I know. I know. The other thing is disturbing. It really is. I mean, until there's consequences, it will continue. And there, there, there won't be guys. Thanks so much for tuning in. We'll be back tomorrow for the full two hours show 9 to 11 a.m. Eastern time for the program. Please stay tuned for TMI with Ted Rawl and Minilacan. That's coming up right now. Thank you very much.
