I was both Masco was both always a corner. I was the only one where they started in football wise. So football wise he started out at running back. Okay. But I told him when he was 10 years old and you can score the touchdowns you want to lead when you get to high school you're going to be a corner. Oh, you tell them that. Oh, that's believe it. Hope you allow back. So what they do you think is court just being around the game for a long time. I understand some of the best corners. Yeah. Yeah. You think that's it. But I think that's it. Right. How many? How many carries did you have? I didn't play football. I got to seven great. Mama didn't want me to. So I made that decision. So maybe I wouldn't get a running back. Right. So I got asked first game for both at Texas tomorrow.

4:31First game in the stands as a Texas all heard pops for you. Kind of what are the emotions? What are you guys? What are you feeling? Oh, man. We just feel like it's been a long time coming. You know, when he was in high school, we felt like he was overlooked. He felt like he was one of the best corners in the country. But his side of the speed was a question that he. Proving them wrong. That you know, and they're going to records and play the whole entire time. He was dead, man. So I mean, we feel like it's been a long time coming. This is the stage. He was born to be on the stage. He know he's supposed to be on. But we just we excited about that. It does feel like that because I watched a lot of film about. So I've become I became a fan watching that rug just played a lot of man plays. I got a lot of press man up there. I thought his best game of the season was a yes or a half state. It gets the best competition. And now I think he's going to be very compatible with this must-champ scheme. What is he done? Because there's a belief among low-end fans from what we've heard been here in the spring. And now it's continuing to train the camp that he's on the press. He's on a breakout campaign.

5:31He's going to be the best version of both masks. Go that we've seen in college football. What sets the stage for that? I think I think this will be the best version of him. It's almost like he's playing high school again. Yes. You know what happened? Calling Simmons and having seen Bob's and having that D line to be able to get some pressure. On the quarterback, he can play a little bit more. He can be a little bit more physical. You know, get up in a face because that's what he love to do. So I think this definitely would be the best version of him. I mean since he's been here, he's put on more weight. He's gotten faster. Got more explosive. Everything is, you know, I see a different. But he was that rough. Does he have any funny Will Muff champ stories yet? I mean, look, it's one thing to be recruited by Muff champ. But what Rahim Rahim Bowles mentioned in press conference money. But the first time you hear the Muff champ voice coming your way. Has he had anything like that yet? He told me no crazy. It went at 48 pass breakups on 15 spring practices. So he probably got more paths on the back than anything.

6:32No, listen, I want to go to Muff champ to get in his butt, man. But think about Bow, you're getting his butt. He's just going to look at you on the knees and just go right back to work. So it's it's hard to yell at him too much because he ain't going to give you nothing back. Yeah. So, yeah. So, so you're big in the Orlando youth football and obviously all the way up having camps, all star game. I got to ask you before we're all gets another corner question. And I won't get to this one. Who's the best player you've ever seen come out of Orlando? You've seen them all, man. Is there somebody that stands out? Man. And you've seen it all there. Man, listen, man, you, you, you, that's, that's, that's a tough one. I told you I was going to hit you with one. I can go back so far. You, I can go back to Willie Green. You know, you can go back to, uh, uh, one sat when he was out of pocket. Oh, man. Oh, it's happened. Apocca. No, there was somebody at Apocca got named T.T. Tullable. That was. What do you feel like?

7:32He played football and basketball. Opposition and football. No, I'm talking about it was Jeremy Rudolph at Apocca and T.T. Tullable was that man. Yeah, T.T. was a man. Basketball and football and was the absolute truth. So, but yeah, but I mean, I'm a homer. I got to go with Willie Green. OK. You know, he went to the University of Florida. He was my teammate. So I got to go with Willie Green. No, it doesn't believe now with both that, you know, because all that talent you talking about there in Florida. And high school, he played with a ton of great players. John Walker. Yeah, the corner at the CLSU name now Jackson, right? Joaquin Jackson. He played with Joaquin Jackson. He played with on Derret LeBlanc. Derret LeBlanc is now, he's that he's starting with all you, but now he's that Maryland. John Walker, that sort of house, right now, allows him Melinda is the linebacker at Auburn. He was with him too. Tavillon Swint, the running bat that said UCF, they had a great game last night. Man, it was just listening.

8:33That team was with loaded. And he played against great competition too. Yeah, we played. And it's something about now he's with this team that is also loaded with a ton of talent. Tom won one of the most talented teams in the country. Some people are projecting 15 draft picks, potentially bobe in one of those this year, potentially. And it's interesting that now it's bringing out the best of them. Is that something about them that when he's around the best competition? Maybe that's what brings out the best of him as a player? Because I think that's a part of it. It's like the best game of the season last year when you watch film. It's a whole sake. I guess what he boils out against, so I think he's a good player consistently, but he jumped out the film there. I think both plays with a chip on the soul. So any of those games that you feel like that, the nature of the saying he won't be able to compete, I think those are the games he thrive on. That's what has always been throughout his high school career, anytime that he played against somebody that they felt like on to get the best of him,

9:33he fell down to the challenge. You know, he's got that Florida game circle this year. He kind of said that in the press conference. I wasn't recruited by any of the schools in Florida. I'm pretty sure he's getting it FSU Florida Miami. And he gets to crack at one of them this year. No, he, you see up to, you see up with one on two. Oh, hey, look at that, man. That's quite good. That's sweet. I'm just gonna go up. Yeah, go up. Yeah, yeah. But not the, um, no, yeah, none of the, none of the Florida schools really, he was in high school. And he was in high school then really recruited him. And then, but you know, when he went into the quarter, of course, all those schools called, but I think at that time it was like, hey, at the end you didn't want me now how you all are. What's going on about that? Hey, we know about that. We know about that. No, no, no. Okay, speaking of Texas, how often have you been to Austin? Now that, you know, both of the Texas men beyond which I haven't been here since I'm on the recruiting trip, but I job trucks.

10:36I've been in Texas for the last two weeks running rock some Texas. I'll make sure I was here on time. Man. You want to be late for the game? I'm in the know this morning. I delivered it Austin and then I picked up a load in, uh, uh, right on the street. Uh, what did that by do? Uh, right on the street, we talked about 20 miles away. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I dropped my truck off over there and called a whoo over here. Beautiful. I mean, we saw in the spring showcase. They played a lot of man coverage. Now, maybe that was just because, hey, it's spring showcase. We just want to simplify the as simple as possible. And they just want to throw the guys into the mix and see if they could hold up against each other and how consistent they could be. But the belief is that that's much champs style. That's his philosophy that he wants to play one man coverage. Nick Sabin, the all-time great Nick Sabin said, hey, the best coverage is man coverage. You just got to have the dogs and the athletes to be able to play it. Texas believes they have those type of athletes in place. Well, Masco Ed Rutgers played a lot of it and a lot of press man. I even asked his dad about it because that's what he didn't really well. He stood out to me was how much press man they played. So I want to see if they're actually going to play man coverage, how much press man they're

16:45going to play with, Beaumassco on the outside there. And he'll make him play on the football. And he was in high school. I meant to ask his dad about this, but you can't keep him here all day long. But he's not screaming a lot of plays on the football. He's last two years. I think he had like 10 in his 70s, like 17 P.B.U.'s couple of pick-sits. He was a ball-hawk. But he didn't see that ball-hawkish ability at Rutgers. I think it's because of lack of talent. You tell him about how many great players. He played with in high school and going, well, you didn't play with great players. It brought out the ball-hawk in him. He was more confident with those guys at Rutgers. You didn't see that guy. I think your Texas, we're hearing he's getting a lot of P.B.U.'s hands on the football. I'm thinking of playing with Colin Simmons playing with Raheem Biles bringing out that ball-hawk in him too. Here's what I think. There's clearly a lack of talent in Rutgers based on what we saw. Come on, man. You man, that is getting a boat race. They spin their... In I.L. And fireworks. They got boat race last night by UMass, a team that had lost 12 consecutive games. All right. 18:50for tomorrow's game. And then we're going to bring Marcus Myers in with us to give us his mind, I guess is the best way to put it. Do you have that ready for us? One second he said. But let's think about this. Texas is a prohibitive favorite. The line's 29 and a half right now. So the folks in Vegas saying Texas should have a pretty good day of it. However, I think all three of us just in talking to each of you this week have a fairly healthy respect for the quarterback at Texas State Brad Jackson as well as their receiver group. We think they're going to move the football a little bit because they just when you have a good quarterback and you get the ball out quick, you have a chance against anybody. Why do we think Texas is going to win or potentially win by 30 or more? What's the thought process that behind that? On defense, I think the ability to disrupt timing of Brad Jackson over the course of the

19:54game, not maybe the first couple of series, but when we get into that second, third quarter, I feel like that Texas defensive front that Texas pass rush. I think once you get past scripts, I get the Jay Kenny really good offensive coach. I think that's where your defensive depth and you start to create the turnover rod, the ball on the ground scenario. Their offensive line is the biggest by weight in college football. How quick are they going to be moving by a millisecond quarter in this heat? The field's going to be 140 to 150. I think it may take Texas a little bit of time defensively, but I think that depth on the defensive front is going to start to wear on them as we get into the second quarter. defensive front off its mind. What do you think, Rod? I like Jerry's take. I think he's I think what's going to give a tech to say a little bit of an advantage because they have really good personnel offensively. Brad Jackson's one of maybe the best quarterback in the group of six, 2000 receivers, only program had that last season.

20:54I think Texas is going to be relatively vanilla. I don't think they're going to be deep into Mushroom's bag. I think the element of mystery going into the Ohio State game is a true advantage. Even G.J. Kinney admitted this week when they asked me, what do you expect for Mushroom? Beefy said, I don't know. No idea. I'm going to fill it out for the first three series and then say, okay, this is what he's trying to achieve. These are some tendencies I can pick up on. But I don't know. You have no idea what a Mushroom defensive look like. I want to keep that advantage going into a Ohio State. I think they may be kind of basic in their coverages and in front and pressure packages. So you will see the physicality. You'll see the violence. Hopefully, they're really buttoned up and guys take an angle to the football. But I don't know if you will see the depth of the complexity of the Mushroom's game, which may give Texas state an early advantage. Because third, you're starting quarterback in this system. They got 2000 ever seen was they may see very vanilla coverages and go, really? I'm just going vanilla cover for, okay, quarters, a good. You know what I mean? So you may see that. That's why I think even Sarc said it. He said, they may move the football.

21:55They may make some plays. I think he knows we're going to be kind of vanilla. The offense is are going to make place. That's just the bottom line. Doesn't mean they're going to make a lot of them. So you're going to try to limit those. I think it's the line of scrimmage to y'all's point and talking with Sarc briefly yesterday. He talked about how physical his offensive line has been this offseason and this training camp much more physical than some previous times going into a year. Let's look at these score predictions. We'll give everybody the totals here right now. I went 52 to 10, not bad. Jerry, I'm 52 20. Excuse me. I can't even read my own right. Not sure what the concern was up there. They did. People are going to get upset at me for this because no, because of the 20. That's that's a lot of point. That's the most anybody has though. Is it not every all pretty close with three points. We got 17. That's just a legitimate. Very good. What should be an eight and four type of G five team. Right.

22:56You know, potentially in a coach. It's going to be a P four head coach really soon. It's going to take his quarterback with him wherever he gets hired after this year. So they're a legitimate quality. This is not San Jose State Sam Houston or Utah. We talked about it offseason. They're a legit decent football team. Look at this. Jerry, you went 42 17. You went. You went. I guess that's the under. You did not. You did not like the line in this game. Rod B 45 17 right at the line. I will say it. I cover. Uncovered. I think I'm a little bit under it because I respect Texas. They's office a little bit. Yeah, I like I like the Texas offense. I think. And I will say this. DJ Kenny likes to play up. Tipo that means more possessions. More opportunities for a Texas offense. Marcus so we'll bring Marcus in. He'll he'll give you his count down. He and I very similar scores. Look at that coach shipley 42 to 10 coach Irwin 45 to 10 CJ. Jeff Hank. We got it all on there for you guys.

23:56So take a look. Went full belt to a belt to a. Well, he is the most confidence in the much jam defense that we see. Evolves everybody else has it in the teams. It leads us for me. He's in the most shamby because we'll totally dominate when Marcus comes on here. Marcus is going to have to a little stat about season openers under Sark against G five teams at you. It was a market Marcus get in here and talk about this. I got. Yeah, what Marcus in here. I. I. I respect the score from you Bob because I can say I think that Texas state offense actually may make more plays and lowland fans are willing to accept or comfortable with in the preseason. Yes, no doubt. And I think most of us because I think much less going to be vanilla. That's my theory. Yeah. Yeah. Hey, represent, baby. And offense look good. And offense look good.

24:57Yeah. Nice. We got a you match. That's a ball shirt on. They're out and they're loud and proud today. And I would not. Marcus, what's this stat that Jerry Hamilton was talking about that you have? We were over in the clubhouse before we walked over and I was talking to Hank and the guys and I was trying to do a little ride research, right? So in the Sark tenure, right, when they haven't played a marquee opponent in noncony, he's 12, 12 games against G5 opponents. And of those 12, six of them have been in the 50s from offensive, you know, production standpoint, only four in the 30s. It was one that was in the 20s and only one was in the 40s. So that kind of went into to my thought process. The other thing that I think, I don't know how, you know, maybe I brought it up this week, but I didn't really notice it until I was kind of digging a little deeper as well. Certainly, you know, it's interesting that like Texas and Texas State haven't played before, you know, in a really long time, right?

25:5930 year right. But there is, there is somebody on this roster that did, Raleigh Brown, played against Texas State last year when he was at Arizona State, 144 yards rushing on 12 carries and a 75 yard touchdown. So, you know, I kind of agree with, you know, your thoughts on the up tempo, but, you know, even though they have a really large offensive line, they have a really small running backs. And so I don't know if it's more of a, I don't think it'll be one of those, try to lean on you or ball control kind of thing, but more of a change of pace, try to get outside some. And I think that may kind of play into, you know, the aggressive style that Mustamp runs. And, you know, I just expect that, you know, even though they do have a new defensive coordinator, the offense, you know, should be able to do kind of whatever they want. And I think it's appropriate. Is this an audition for G.J. Kenny or is the whole because he's had a good career, good, good run at Texas State. A lot of people thought at one point he might be the next coach at Baylor.

28:02Now we think TCU, I'm not saying TCU is going to come open, but there's some people, there's some rumblings in Fort Worth early after the loss to UNC. Dave Miranda, it's put up or shut up moment for him. Is this an audition year for G.J. Kenny and if he were to perform well, or at least I'm not saying beat Dex's, but admirably, that puts him on a stage and say, okay, if I had like John, John Sumrell at two lane, right, goes from two lane to Florida. So big step, but the idea being it puts him on that plateau where, okay, I can go compete with those guys. Just give me the better flames. You know, we talked about a little bit on Monday, right? Where, you know, it might have been Wednesday with you, Rod, where, you know, Sark had made the comment about Texas State potentially being able to vibe for, you know, a CFP spot. And so if he's able to make a solid run at it, whether he gets, you know, there are not, but I ate him for nine and three type season that shows that, you know, he has really

29:07good offensive production and has good command of his program. I mean, I wouldn't be shocked at all to see one of these bigger names come calling. There would just be a matter of, you know, is that something that he, you know, really wants to do with this juncture? Yeah. And if he, indeed, thinks of this game as an audition, then he's going to throw everything as Sark early because you can't afford for it to be a blowout in a second half. You're going to let me throw out all my, out my, my grad, grad gadget plays. I'll get deep into my bag. So if he gets deep into that bag, which we all assume this all season, DJ Kenny has been, yeah, right? He's in the lab like, oh, man, looking at Texas film and they dropped a special plane. You're going to throw those at Texas in the first quarter because he'll buy the second, middle second quarter, you can get that Sark run. This thing could be out of hand. So I think you're going to get the best of that offense early. I think they're going to try to suck you into something. I'm not sure what it is. I'm not sure if we talking about flea flicker. I'm not talking about double pass. You'll get something. Yeah, you can scheme it up well. He does a really good job with what it is that he's setting out to do.

30:10And I think his players certainly buy into it. So I'm with you, right? I think he's certainly spent some significant time this off season trying to find some areas that he thinks he might be able to take advantage of. And the players believe in him because Brad Jackson, guy having a year like that, only two players in Colise football had at least 30, 200 yards passing, at least 700 yards rushing and responsible for at least 35 touchdowns. Diego Pavia and Brad Jackson, usually guys who have that kind of season, they leave. And as receivers, right? Both of them believe that they believe in DJ Kenny. They believe in the system. So I think it's, I think it is. And it could be for any number of schools. But they are paying well right now at Texas State. Like one of the things we talked about at lunch, we had lunch with Jerry and DJ and Hank today. And we were talking about how Jeff trailer. He missed his window, right? And he you're saying he did, period.

31:11And my thought process was, yeah, he did maybe too. I felt that way. But is it real? Are you really missing your window if you're making three million a year? That's true. I mean, that's your fault. It's not a window. It's so grateful. I mean, I feel like he could have went, he could have taken some jobs and that came available. But my, my thought process on this is there's a limit, right? But you know, Eric Morris went from North Texas, though, almost state, had a hell of a year. And usually you got a time and around that. 32:12I like that, I like that idea of it. Mark is your keys for the game. I talked a little bit about what we want to see. What do you think your keys for this game? I hope is that they start fast. You know, I mean, we've heard a lot of talk, you know, in the off season about, you know, things that they've put an emphasis on, you know, Sark certainly made some changes, not only with personnel, but with staff. And so I hope to just see them start fast, you know, have a pretty sharp operation. I don't expect them to be perfect, right? It's, it's still going to be the first game. There's still going to be some things that, you know, aren't going to go 100% they want them to, but I would really like to see them start fast and then be able to build on that. Carry that momentum. And then, you know, by, by the end of the game, third quarter into the fourth that you're imposing your will. And that, and for me, that's not always like just necessarily a mauling run game. I would love to see it, but I just don't know if that's necessarily this, this team style, but just being able to make sure that the game is going the direction they wanted to, right? It's, they're not responding, but, but they're the ones that are, you know, forcing the other team to do that.

33:15So I'm hoping to see. I think, I think that's a great point because you don't want to, the one thing you don't want is to not feel like you're in control of a game like this where you think you have a personnel gap. I don't know what, what that really looks like yet, because we haven't seen them. But look, they're, they're playing some older guys. You look across, you mentioned their offensive lines, a lot older guys and a lot of size. Their defensive line, they got a guy back from an NFL camp. Yeah, yeah. Some of that's there. And so we need to be cognizant of that. But I think that Texas, you want them to see and have. What is coach Irwin and coach Irwin and coach Shipley, you both use the same term, efficiency. He was he's completing less than 50% on crossing routes last season. That's a big part of socks offense. Do we see them improve on little things like that. The slant route is completing like 53%. That should be a higher percentage route. Watching to see if arch has improved on those more routine. High percentage quick game throws. To me could be the difference. And you talk about what coach. Coach Irwin talked about and coach simply. The efficiency. Yeah, Sarc has lacked having an explosive offense combined with an efficient offense. That's part of the problem. This is often having having really been efficient.

37:25They've been really explosive but not efficient. And I think some of that last year was based on arch's. You know, development of growing pains, if you will, as a quarterback. And if he becomes a more efficient passer. And then you know, it's a lot of time. I mean, the style is a limit for the office. That's when that's when you potentially go from a. Be offense to a. The roof is the ceiling. Yes, MJ will say. Okay. Yeah. Because that's what he's lacking right now in this game. The thing that NFL style so salivating over with arch is the deep throws. The deep vertical throws. He's great on the post routes. The corner routes. The. You go look at him on the dig routes. And then he's going to be a little bit more. He's going to be a little bit more. He's going to be a little bit more. Really tough throws but he's great on those. What he struggles with at times is the. The throws that keep you on time and on schedule any fish. The little slant route. You know, I mean, the quick, the quick drag route across the middle. If he gets more efficient there. It's going to be scary, scary times.

38:26Potentially. And I think that's what I'm looking for tomorrow. Do we get a more efficient version of arch? We know arch. You know, chick's in the long bars. So he's going to be great. Now we can't comment it right and we can go. We're going to be as deep as D. The deep ball is going to be there. Will we get them what efficient quick game throws that also go along with that? You've had some explosive runs I want to see 200 yards on the ground the more and I think Texas is gonna make an emphasis of being physical abroad tomorrow It's a good stat especially Sarc says you know you get what you emphasize and they have emphasized the run game the entire offseason spring and training camp We don't take away Just because the the Texas defense has been good in the offseason training camp and spring ball

46:48We'll take away is one of much champs kind of identifying traits and Part of this philosophy is taking the football away. They were really good at last year in the last couple years leading the SEC in takeaway So taking the football away they can do that With this type of state he's best at considering how much of a veteran presence Brad Jackson has in this offense That would give me a lot of optimism about how opportunistic they're gonna be in the SEC this season I I'm gonna throw one out to y'all because it does not surprise me that Jerry Hamilton talked about physicality because he preached it for about six to eight months after last season Roddy doesn't surprise me you picked turnovers because you've This has been a consistent theme for you for a long period of time Either of y'all said anything about penalties Is that an offensive and defensive stat?
