Pennsylvania's AI Defense Future | Harrisburg News

Pennsylvania’s top political leaders, usually at odds, are now united on a bold vision: the state must lead America’s defense and innovation future. Governor Josh Shapiro and Senator Dave McCormick teamed up at the state’s first Defense and Innovation Summit, stressing that Pennsylvania’s massive workforce and existing defense industry are just the beginning. The real opportunity lies in AI, drones, and autonomous tech—areas where the U.S. risks falling behind without a coordinated push. They emphasized that while AI reshapes jobs, it also creates demand for skilled workers across manufacturing, data centers, and supply chains. This bipartisan push isn’t just about tech—it’s about securing national security, boosting the economy, and positioning Pennsylvania as a global innovation hub right at home.
