Hi, buddy. Happy fan of her. Well, I think it wasn't like 1978 when I first started coming on when we started arguing about Woody Hayes and his legacy and things like that. I think I see that it seems even that long ago, but yeah, you're at a David Buster.

3:04It's a you what how many you play the whack them all like what's your game there? What's your what's your David? Oh, we let me tell you, I'm a ski bowl guy and I also like Papa shot, even if I'm out of practice, JP. I love the claw machines, but I just did Papa shot in between the last break. And that was a lot of fun. It's been a long time, but that was a lot of fun. I should be better at Papa shot. I just I prefer the Nelson month version of a ski ball. You just go up there and just keep putting the ball into the hundreds and just, you know, take all the tickets and go get the fluffy things. But but I digress anyway. It's happy football season. We don't need to bring Josh Hoover into the conversation. He's gone. You know, he's going to be, you know, he, he, as far as having a resume coming in, he's got he's under more pressure than anybody in college football. Because if they don't play awesome this year, it's not on his shoulders, but he can't throw an interception because that's the, that's those, the issue coming in.

4:04Now the TCU often before it changed into whatever it was in Ireland. The whole part of cost of doing business was it's through the ball about a hundred thousand times the game. So yeah, you just kind of had interceptions there, which is why their section goal was so big. But you had last year where those that didn't make a whole lot of mistakes. He had like one game with two interceptions and that was about it. He's been pretty, he was pretty good rest of the season. And they're going to demand perfection out of him. And you have a national championship program there with a, let's just say a, a fan base that went from zero to a hundred very fast on the demanding and insufferable scale. They're not going to settle for anything less than anything big from Hoover this year. Pete, I got to say I actually am buying all the Josh Hoover stock I can because the man's affiring and he's not afraid of it. I just say I thought you couldn't have a furry as a quarterback. And no, no, no, I, what I've changed is, know thyself is the number one commandment of being a good

5:05quarterback. And I think if you can say to everyone, I'm here. I'm furry. Get over it. I think, I think that is about as bold of statement as you can make. There's a lot of confidence. Hey, look, I am sure Securzik may love all of that. I'm sure it's right into his wheelhouse of his stick and his act that he does that. Yeah, don't Google them. Imagine, imagine going from football flanderers. No, no, no, no, I googled that. That's it. I know enough to not do that. But look, the key to Indiana overall though is they've they stayed healthy last year. They for the most part, they played 16 games and they were able to keep everything relatively intact until late. We had a few key injuries here and there. But if they think another run, that's a lot of college football for these guys who are still around to have played in a year and three months. They're probably not going to get the same injury look again. They're probably not going to catch the same sort of breaks again that they made for themselves. But they did have the miracle win.

6:07When America come back at Penn State at the top, game at Oregon. And Carson Beck puts another six inches under that throw. We're talking about national defending national championship champion Miami right now. So a lot of things have to go into this. Obviously that team was amazing. They're great again. And it's just we'll see. We'll see how this turns out. But it's they got a lot of tests. But Indiana has a player now. All right, Pete. Tell me about with Ohio State taking on ball state. I think the line is 50 and a half. It's just a massive line. But their quarterback is going very viral. Keldrick Luster. He is like 510 270 pounds or something. That's a unit right there. If you tell me what you know about this guy, why is he taking the internet by storm? First of all, the name is fantastic. But also it's just he's a baller of a player. It's ball state's going to be fun. I mean, it's 50 and a half in general. If you're walking into a stadium down 50 and a half to nothing,

7:07you kind of take that deal because it takes a lot to win a game by 50, even if you're Ohio State because teams tend to stop trying after a while. But on the flip side of this, I'm this is all about Ohio State and its attitude from the start. You know, last year they did the too cool for school thing where they're like, all right, we know we're better than everyone else. We're just going to come out and play and then go home. This year, let's see if they have that. We're just going to destroy everyone attitude. Because when it was time to turn the machine on, they couldn't do it against Indiana or Miami. When it was time to really hammer down and make this thing work, they were unable to get there. So they've got to just show from the start that they've got the offense that's just going to come out and put 75 on the board and go, go, go, go, go from the start. All right, Pete. We've talked ball state. Let's get to Ohio State. Big picture. What makes or breaks Ohio State is a national championship candidate this year?

8:10Just making sure that like I said, just have that kind of killer team. They have to have the same spark because you need the desperation at Ohio State. You saw it a few years back where they felt like they were wrong. Didn't the college football playoff semi-final and that seemed to fuel them into next year. And then you had the part where, okay, they lost the Michigan for what? 19 years in a row and they lost their mind. And then they lost again and then, you know, they were still fueled. But that seemed to be the thing that kind of galvanized the group into a national championship. And they kind of need that same thing again. I'm not saying these are new players, mostly new players from the team a couple years ago. They're going to obviously be fired up. But it just has to be kind of an overall attitude. Like just getting there is no longer good enough. You know, now you do have Indiana. You have Oregon. You have a Michigan team that's going to be pretty nasty. Washington's really good. USC is going to be dangerous. Penn State's probably going to be a thing again. You have a much, much tougher Big Ten.

9:11And you have that little trip that's against Texas to deal with. So, in your Ohio State, you do have more talent than everyone else on offense. It's almost as, almost as, almost as fairly talented. So just go out and prove it. Don't mess around. Just score, score, score. Just keep, just keep piling it on. And just be one of those teams that goes out there and wins every game big. And that just go out just to try to accomplish what you want to accomplish and move on. And think it's just more than anything else. Do they have that kind of mindset that dominate every snap, every possession, every play? And, you know, hurt feelings on final scores. That's going to be for the other side. You know, it's nitpicking always with Ohio State. But like for being a wide receiver, you, I do wonder what their wide receiver outlook is going to be outside of Jeremiah Smith, obviously. You know, when you lose car, now it's hate. And then they have four touchdowns with receivers. For not named Jeremiah Smith that were on the roster last year and three of them was in this. Like I just, I wonder and I worry if it's just the assumptions baked in that somebody else will be his Robin

10:17and it might not exist. Well, start with the fact you've got the guy who should have been the number two overall picking the draft as a wide receiver. And so as long as Jeremiah Smith doesn't have a case of NFL, I just, and you know, tries to be like, yeah, I don't know. I don't know if I really want to go all out here. I want to keep my self in the club, all that kind of stuff, which is these not going to be that guy. But that does happen in the game. And then this is still good. And if, look, if Chris Henry Jr. is as good as advertised, I mean, he's next, right? There's the potential here for this to be if Henry's that good. There's the potential here because it kind of raises the overall bar in the game. This could be as good as any receiving core of how it's they've had. I mean, again, you've got the one of one to, there is a case to be made with one more big year that Jeremiah Smith's the greatest wide receiver in the history college football. And start from that and then everyone else around him should function and you have an NFL quarterback throwing to him.

11:19This, this thing needs to explode because there's really no excuse not to because the weapons are also good. So I think you're kind of pointing at something that I've debated a lot because I think every time I've seen someone debate the Heisman race from the Ohio State thing, it feels like they're just open and shut Jeremiah Smith. We know that's a quarterback award though. When, when, you know, kind of at its most norm state, if you had to say right now, Julian saying, or Jeremiah Smith, is it a debate for you for Heisman? Or do you think it's just going to be Jeremiah Smith because he's given so much credit? Oh, massive. I mean, because it does depend. If Jeremiah Smith goes out there and catches 12 passes for 280 yards and three touchdowns against Texas, well, it's over. But the big picture of the season, it's saying because again, this wide receiving core is just that good. Where if it's saying who goes out there and has a big game against Texas and plays better than arch and Ohio State win, you've got to get the massive big 10 games between Michigan and Indiana and all the other big games week after week.

12:23Where last year, part of the problem for saying is after the Texas game, who watched Ohio State play? They didn't even play anybody, you know, for most of the year. At least no game that was really worth being a marquee on the board. So this year they got those. So they got the big games to play. And if saying goes out, you know, Smith can have one of those games or he's like five catches for 28 yards and a touchdown and one of the other, you know, in the skills off or something. All right. Well, that's saying we throw them the ball. So yeah, the high is when you can't, you know, we have to predict the highs when those who's playing best in the biggest of games when everyone's watching. It's a popularity contest. That's it. And so who's watching and who's impressed at the right time? All right. We get Lane Kiff and LSU Clemson. That's the marquee game. How do you see this one in his debut with LSU? I'm fully aware of all things Lane Kiff and how this thing rolls. The Vanity Fair stuff, the, uh, the diversion from, uh, there's now a lawsuit against LSU on a federal case about

13:27pro players. I, I think if you can get past all that, he might be saving going to Alabama. I mean, the guy's just a great football coach. All the other stuff is like, okay, well, he's a coach and he coaches do things, uh, or did things. So it's whatever. But I kind of love the fact that the guys try to do everything possible to push boundaries here. Not doing anything illegal. Not do anything again, technically against the law. You're seeing I can go after NFL players. Well, I'm going to go after NFL players. Well, okay, why is it your coach doing that? Why is it never coach doing that? I like that about him. And you got a guy who remember, guy went 11 games twice at Florida Atlantic. He took Ole Miss and made it a program. The Ole Miss is basically, you know, Vanderbilt on steroids. I mean, they have a, they don't have the money, the resources of other SEC schools. And if he came with top power program, now he's at LSU and bound by nothing. He got all the talent through the transfer portal. This team talent-wise is right there with anybody in the country.

14:31Let's see it. Let's see what he does. If this offense works with the talent he has in place, they should not have a problem at Clemson. Should not have a problem against Ole Miss in a couple of weeks. I think LSU is a legit instant factor in the College of Paul Playoff for it. All right, Pete. I do, you know, we're going to save a little time here at the end for your official review of Pat McAfee's album. I know a lot of guys that work with him that really think the world of it. How many songs do you want to hear on College Game Day this weekend from Pat McAfee? How many? I mean, I mean, ESPN's the, you know, McAfee's a long ESPN to still be a part of this. I mean, it's, look, hey, don't hate him. I don't mind him. It's his thing. It's not my thing. I get it. I'm kind of the understated Chris Fowler-ish type. But all right, I get that he's a big deal. You know, if someone's going to let you put, you've got to touch, you know, out there and, you know, do the do your albums or, you know, heartbeat or, you know, stuff like that. Go for it. Knock it out. If it's fun for you, go have fun with it.

15:33But, yeah, I don't, that kind of lost my Game Day love and edge at this point. So, when's the Pete Futeck Country album coming out? Are you more of a, maybe a trap rap album? I'd buy it. Oh, one. Oh, seriously, you do. Country, you even suggest you have country music. Yes, you do not know me and any way shape or form. That's a, we'll call you Chicago Pete. Yeah, yeah, I live in Chicago for a reason. You know, the whole scene of music here has been fantastic. But no, that is not, you will not hear the album coming from me in that way. I just, I, I could probably, I could probably do it though, but I actually need to. I actually should listen to McAfee album just to know what we're talking about here. Maybe it's great. Maybe, you know, maybe it's not great. It's not great. Maybe it's never mind. Maybe, maybe it's still not understand it. Maybe you, that might be it. That's true. You know, you know, like, you know, James Addiction, nothing shocking got like two stars and all the, you know, we've been at first came out.

16:34You know, who knows? Maybe it's like 10 years from now. We're looking back on this and saying, what, what, how did we miss this? I think that's the exact thing that's going to happen.
