There's parts of it that I really like and then parts of it that are just like very baffling to me. I ended up kind of like all of the otherworldly hell razor sections where you're like navigating the maze and using your cube and all that stuff are really cool. Top, top, top, top, top, top, top, top, top, top, top, top, top, top, top, top, top, top. This is it, everybody. The last piece of kind of funny content before Mondays, top 100 games of all time kick off. We thought there'd be no better way than to ape our own content and predict and talk about what would be on next week's list. But of course, that put us into quite the pickle. We all made lists here, kind of funny. And then we submitted them. So we know what's on our list. So are we playing with Inside Baseball? Or what do we know about that? We couldn't talk about it ourselves. So we decided to bring in three industry luminaries with Kyle, Zanth, and Madeline to come in. I gave them very simple instructions. I needed three games from each of them. Games, they know will make the list. Games they hope will make the list. And of course, took a bobsist point. Games that have no shot at making the list. I wanted three from each of them. They all did way too much homework and put in way too many games.

8:12And I appreciate that. But if you've been living under a rock, maybe you don't understand that next week, Monday through Friday, we're doing kind of funny. Top 100 games of all time. It is a gigantic, amazing video show. But it's also a gigantic, amazing live show. We are filling the kind of funny studio of kind of funny best friends who went and bought their tickets that sold out, I think, in less than two minutes. It might have been a minute and a half for these five day event. We will be in front of them doing 20 games a day. And we will be revealing them live to not only you, not only the audience, but ourselves. The way kind of funny is top 100 works is that it's much like kind of funny game of the year. Each and every one of seven members of kind of funny went through and wrote out their own top 100 lists. Then we turned them in, bear it sat down, cracked all the numbers, organized the list. And now we have a definitive ranking of the top 100 games of all time at kind of funny based on the preferences of myself, Tim, blessing, Mike, Andy, Roger, bear it. Those are the seven people who went through and cast their ballots to then have them tabulated

9:15and then have them revealed live. There's been a lot of chatter about this list in what it'll be. And I've seen the arguments. Is it the best game? Is it the games that's most important? Is it their favorite games? We just said to everybody, make a top 100 list and make it make sense for you. So that is insane. And I love. So I decided I would sit down and host the show because of course, once I wrote my list and submitted it, I forgot all about it. I don't know what I put. I don't know where I put it. Why no, obviously number one. Come on. But you know what I mean? The rest of it. So Madeline, Zayath, Kyle, before we even jump in, I want to know, and I'll start with Mads, how did you tackle trying to figure out what you know will make it, what better make it, what has no shot of making it? So I tried to come up with games that I felt like more people, like a majority of people liked because when we do these list things, right, like, you know, you might really like

10:17Skate and it made, I don't remember where it made it on your game of the year list. Last year, like three or something. Mike, when did it? No, no, no. It was not ice. It was not ice. It was not ice. It was not ice. It was not ice. Yeah, somewhere in there. Yeah, we did God's work out there. So like some big champions of one specific game can make it into the list, but I feel like with how many games and how many people, like I want to, I was trying to cast a wide net over like something that a lot of people like that's going to be like top 50 for multiple people. That was my strategy. I'm curious what other people's strategies were. Kyle, what did you do? I did something similar. I thought of what games do I know kind of funny loves first and foremost and what games. Yeah, absolutely. Everyone knows that. But also like what games, like let's say, you know, Barrett is such a huge fan of this game. Could he, you know, grease the palms of other KF members to get it into their top 100 list?

11:19So I was kind of doing a little bit of that kind of thinking and trying to see just mathematically if they will make it into the top 100. Well, what's interesting is, and I don't know if it was a directive we had or not. I don't recall, but there wasn't a discussion amongst a lot of us for no one talked to me about my list before. So I don't think they exactly, I don't think there was maybe, you know, Roger and fucking Mike, who knows what they're up to, what they're colluding, but I get into the, even for me, of guessing what's going to happen next week. You talk about Barrett and of course, when I think of Barrett, I think of Zelda. And then it is that idea of like, okay, cool, but where people doing the, I've already put one Zelda on the list. I shouldn't put two or three or four. Like, how does that net out? Zanth, did this keep you up at night? We were talking a little bit pre-show. I think the first part was the easiest. Like what do you know we'll be on and then like hopes versus what are you unsure of? Because of the outliers, I do think Snowbike Mike is the biggest outlier in terms of his

12:21interests, like, because he seems to love everything. Which then it's like, who knows where everything is going to end up falling, but, you know, kind of going back to what Kyle and Madeline were saying when it came to like what I thought would be guaranteed, it was about listening for the echoes. Like there are certain games that seem to echo throughout kind of funny and are still being brought up on current content. So it's like for that, it's like, okay, this one seems logical. This seems like something if we're still talking about it years out that it has to make the list. So that's where I kind of went into approaching at least from that particular category. Well, Zanth, you said that was the easy parts. Let's start with you. Give me your first game that you know made kind of funny's list. Zelda Breath of the Wild. I think for me, that is the, as we're talking just like of those echoes, when an open-world game comes on kind of funny.

13:21Yeah. Oh, well, we know of audio for Kevin when he went to B-roll. We look like we lost Zanth's audio. Is what's Chad saying over here? I'm sorry. Give me two seconds. Yeah, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, oh, hold on, Lass close. сть, hasty anybody after all. Oh, okay. distribute an envelope and they'll see to the box you can see it through curtains. Okay, where did you put someone's blanket? Something that's Bob's mother's present? What's a llama? Well, Bob was talking about when he came. I'm a teacher, I do this daily, I've happened to repeat the same lesson over and over again.

14:22Fucking kids that ain't listening. But the best part of it is usually by the second or third time I'm better and then the last I will speed up to the point where all the points are lost. But coming back to it, like I waffled a little bit between Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, just due to like one being a little bit more new and being a fresh in everyone's heads. But since Breath of the Wild was the genesis of the open world Zelda, it felt the logical choice. And I think you can go back even a week ago and hear Zelda being mentioned, as we're talking about, you know, Akarina coming out and stuff like that, still mentioning the impact of Breath of the Wild. So to me, it feels like the easy one. It feels like the one that I can, I will expect to be, I will say I expect this to be in the top five. I think this won't be strong enough because it also has that universal appeal too, right?

15:23It has most people at kind of funny played and enjoyed this game. And we're still hearing about this to this day. So to me, this feels like one of those. It is on the list and it is very high up. Madelow, is he crazy? No, I think that's, I think that is a very educated as a teacher. Good guess, you know, Zamp did the homework. I totally agree. I think Zelda, Breath of the Wild, is a great pick that a lot of people. Top five is an interesting thing for me. I don't know if I feel confident in top five. Okay. What do you feel confident made the list, Madeline, for your first pick? I think my first one that I want to say I'm confident made the list is Spider-Man 2018. Oh, yes. I think obviously kind of funny has a history with one shirtless Spider-Man. Like when I think of Spider-Man, I think of shirtless Spider-Man and that I think of kind of funny. So I think that that is one that every, that I think a lot of people at kind of funny really enjoyed.

16:23I definitely thought about the same thing that Zamp mentioned between Zelda, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom versus Spider-Man versus Spider-Man 2. But I think Spider-Man had that initial amazing great start, great gameplay. Everyone was so in love with it and has, you know, a more stronger story, I think, for a lot of people. And then of course, like shirtless Spider-Man and shirtless Miles Morales were in Spider-Man 2. So I feel like there's maybe some stuff going on there. A lot of collusion. Maybe some collusion, I don't know. But I do think like Spider-Man 2018 is like one of those, the superhero game, I think, that when you think of the most recent kind of generations, like that's the game that you think of when you think of being a superhero flying through the streets of New York, like what an iconic map, what a fun game, just that I think everyone kind of loves that kind of funny as far as I'm aware. So I feel, I don't, I don't feel confident. Zamp threw a wrench with the top five thing. I don't think I have no confident top fives, but I think I have a definitely.

17:26All your shots. No, I can't, I can't. Kyle, for your first pick that you know made the list, do you have a top five or up your sleeve? I don't know, I don't think it's top five. If this, I would, I would guess maybe later, back half of the 50s. Okay. I like that. But it's funny, like following up Madeline's choice here, when I think Spider-Man, I think Spider-Man 2018 would not exist without Arkham Asylum. So I think Arkham Asylum is making the list. I know specifically like you and Barrett Greg, absolutely love Arkham. I was waffling back and forth between Asylum or City, but I just think you got, you got to go with the one that started it all. I remember picking up Asylum and just loving all the hints at the other Batman lore, the Rogue's Gallery. I mean, the Rocksteady showed what they can do with Batman with Asylum and, you know, it's just, it's perfect Batman.

18:27Like it's Kevin Conroy, it's Mark Hamill. I mean, how can you not have this on any top 100 list? So I think Arkham Asylum is an easy one to make the 100. I just hope it's comfortable enough in there. I just don't know how many others outside of maybe you and Barrett. Yeah, that's an interesting one. Like honestly, what I'll let you know is that I'm not going to reveal it, but I'm opening my list because I don't remember what games I put, if I put this on it, and it's just an interesting exercise even for myself. I'm like, oh, interesting. What did I do there? What about this? How did that happen or whatever? I mean, that was the thing. I was going through the list in every single time I would add something. Another game, what pop up is like, oh my God, but I could go on and on. This job's hard. You're a lot of doing it. It's super super super. I'm not here and it's really difficult. That's how it is. Yeah. Arkham Asylum still. Why don't we see Greg's screen bigger so I can look for tells. Yeah, reflect it off like, like, what do you hear? I'll tell you. It's interesting.

19:28What's the reflectance? You know, I wrote it a long time ago. I guess it's interesting too. I've seen people, there was a joke. It was a joke in the chat about where the list filed after Wolverine. The list were filed long before Wolverine, of course. I believe originally when we did this list, we were trying to get this done. And then obviously as we maybe have chronicled with us how difficult it's been to get this show on the road based on some city stuff. We eventually included, went on to include all 20, 25 games, but nothing in 2026. I'm fairly certain. I'm sure when we get to the show on Monday, you're going to extensive recap from Tim on what is actually happening. But I get to sleep through it and just have fun. So I don't know. Let's sneak backwards. Kyle, what's your second game? You know made the list. This was such an easy one. And I'm going to feel like a fool if I'm wrong and it's an earlier entry in this franchise. But this is one again, I think of top moments of kind of funny and just as a general company. Smash Brothers Ultimate I think is an easy lock for top 100.

20:29I think there is enough fun moments of just on content of you guys playing. You know, let alone Tim destroying a laptop throwing a hat at a real reveal. So I like smash brothers has to be I think included on a top 100 list of some way, shape reform and why not go with the ultimate version. Everyone's here. So I think I think this one is a is a lock. This one might be up there. I want to say like I like how I don't I didn't want to put in stakes of where it lands. And now I'm doing it for each one of my picks. It's I would say top 25. Oh, I think it's up there. Yeah. Wow. Basically calling me a coward for not placing my. No, not calling you coward at all. I mean, it's a smart one. You have many more. You can. OK, I will. You brought something interesting that Kyle of like, you know, if it's an entry from a older one or an older one from the entry, you know, you said it very smartly. I can say it for some reason. But like, does that way into all y'all's opinion on this?

21:33Because it is that thing I made with bear it at the top of Zelda. But then even this of like everybody approached their list differently. And so is it the best game you've ever played? Is it the game that made you? Is it the game that, you know, like, did you sit there? And I'm assuming you think about melee and think about smash 64? Yeah, for a lot of other of my picks as well of like, how am I going to list multiple entries in this one franchise or pick the one that I think everyone would agree on having in the list? It was definitely a struggle. So yeah, I would, I would going through like, is it ultimate? Is it brawl as a melee? Is it the OG, which I don't think it's the OG, but I had that struggle with a bunch of different ones. And you know, we shared our lists with each other beforehand. So seeing what Zanth and Madeline both picked of like, make it sure we don't pick all Zelda's, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Over in the chat, Spall says, has Greg talked about how they are getting scored slash ranked collectively. I'm thinking a reverse point system where one gets 100 points and 100 gets one point.

22:36Ding, ding, ding. Exactly like our game of the year. Yeah. If you put your game at number one, you get 100 points for that game. And if you put it 100, that would get one and then everything in between. It should be fun. Madeline, your second pick for your three games, you know, will make the list. So for my second pick, I picked a game that I think is also very connected to kind of funny when I think of it, which is the last of us. I think of the last of us, spoiler cast, I think about how just fun that was, how interesting, how much people really champion the game, all, you know, talking with the voice actors. And just like one of those classic PlayStation, you know, single player games with a good story that made you cry. And I feel like a lot of people really connect the last of us with kind of funny. And I, I am curious because, you know, as I'm thinking about games, it's funny, the tears of the kingdom, breath of the wild thing was what sparked us with me as well, where I was

23:37like, if you look at like game of the years for different years and how something might have been a game of the year one year, but might not stick with you. And I feel like I was thinking a lot about just the last of us in time and has it has have people's opinions of games changed over time. And I'm, I still think last of us makes. I'm going to say between 25 and 75. I'm going to say. Oh. Oh. That's very specific. We're 25 to 75 range. Kyle's hand. I like. Well, do you think it's going to make it number one? But then what range would you put it in? 25 to 75 is so specific. I think it's a slam dunk for being on the list. I would have said top 10. Okay. Top 10. Interesting. Interesting. Interesting. Interesting. Interesting. Interesting. Interesting. Interesting. I think last of us two is an amazing game that the longer people sit with based on

24:41people that I talk to like they like it less. And that's where I'm thinking like as time goes on, I think last of us part one, it like stuck in people's minds. Sure. Hard experience that they loved. And I feel like last was part two in the general consensus. And I can't speak obviously for how I know that the kind of funny feels about it. I feel like the general people and my friends and me like have have weined on in a little bit. And I think also was a little long. It came out during COVID. There's like a lot of baggage with the last of us part two that doesn't exist. The last of us part one. I love this definitive take from the chat. I'm going to say, Rumu Tanolo says no way that number one is higher than number two. And now of course, you could read that either way. But I do imagine they're saying there's number two will be higher in our top 10. Like it'll be in let's say that would be 11 and you're saying one would be 15. Oh yeah, they are. Let him flash on me.

25:41So last of us two greater than one. A lot of people had interesting stuff going to happen next week. Let's see if either from around there. Zanth, do you think it makes it slam dunk? Yeah. I'm going to say we're going to go between 50 and 60. I'm going to. What would they mind? I would like to know the way. Zanth, what is your second game you know is on the list? I waffle the lot when it comes to like what Soul's born game makes the list because I know there are a lot of Souls born sickos. Sure. I kind of funny. I know that's not you Greg, but that's okay. That's fair. I'm a dead man. I'm a dead man. I think I can cry about my wife. That's what I want. Yeah. I mean, we all have our our brothers and I'm glad that's yours. For like when looking at like the Souls' horns, the most logical to me is Elden Ring.

26:41Like Elden Ring takes and builds off of all the great things that they had going from Dark Souls and then moving into Sekro and Bloodborne and combining it. Here we are again talking about an open world. It just seems logical that Elden Ring is going to be on this list and it's going to be buoyed. I think, you know, I could see Mike. I could see Blessing. I could see Andy all dropping this in their top 10 and yeah, and bear it. So with with that, I would say like this has to be a top 10 game as well. And that's I'm just going to reach for the top 10 this whole time. Hey man. For a game you're saying you know makes the list. I feel like you're saying you know what's going to be high on that list. Yeah. It just makes a lot of sense. I mean, we can also look and we've seen it be built off of with Night Rain and as we're seeing with dustbloods. You know, there's a continual drawback to what Elden Ring has established, which again

27:42is that resonance. It's that echoing that that continues to this day and it just seems no matter what version of this list you came in on, whether it be the games that have mental up to you, your top 100 games of all time games that you just like. It would be odd to not have this one making appearance. Fair enough. I think this is where things get a little crazy Greg. Oh, tell me why, Kyle. How many from software games are going to make this? Because that was my issue. Because like Elde Ring, Bloodborne Dark Souls, you know, I'm going to be an armored core on there. I don't know. That would be so great. I've got for me, you know, Kyle, like coming in, like I think for Elden Ring makes the most sense just because of the accessibility of it. Yeah. Right. Like that open world nature of the building to, you know, maybe skip things and get more powerful and come back to it. That is not present in, you know, Sakura or a born. That's why it seems logical, but I hold hardly great.

28:43There are still many Soulsborne games that I think are on this list. Elden Ring is the only one I'm confident to put into that top 10. Okay. You know, Meta Flops says even Nick played Elden Ring, which I think is why Elden Ring is a widespread net. See it's fascinating. And you know, I'm not the Soulsborne person, as you said. And again, to be clear, I only know my list. I don't know our entire list. But I'm trying to, like I don't think any of the Dark Souls make it. I don't think Bloodborne makes it. And then you get into like, Sekaroe where it's like, okay, I could see an argument for that being in there. But it's one of those I wonder if it's Elden Ring's, that's the representation on the list of it all. I don't know, but it'll be interesting to see. You don't think Bloodborne makes it? I don't, right? Like, it might, I mean, like, don't we, it's that thing Andy O'Horse, you as soon as Andy is going to have Bloodborne very high. That's what I'm saying. He's got his back. I don't, I'm, it affects me. You air your ass, maybe. A PS5 for a game. I mean, we're back to making Skate half and less on the game.

29:46You need a partner in crime in that. And so like, Andy's got it, but like, does bless is just like bloodborne like bloodborne like that. I don't know. Blessing. Well, maybe I yelled, I'll get my phone out too. They got me the soundproof room over here. He was playing a game last I saw too. We're gonna call him. He probably won't answer. He knows better than dancer when I call. Oh, here he is. We was calling you too. Why? No, but you're playing a game. I didn't know it's a. This is important. We need this. You're an insane person just so you know, I love Bloodborne. Okay. I love all these other. Yeah. I'm like, I'm in love with this. I know that you like it, but I didn't know. I didn't know if it's like I blessing. I don't know how people took their lists. Oh, I'm feeling it with Soulsborns or I'm plaking one or what's it going to be? Sure. I mean, obviously, I'm not going to reveal anything. No, no, no, no. I, the people that are listening to me, they know how much I love these. I'm going to listen to you. I'm going to start talking. I'm going to start talking. Does he like Bloodborne? Does he like Bloodborne?

30:47Run back all the games? Does he like Bloodborne? That's crazy. Fuck this place. You know what I mean? I'll say shit. He's in the 22 seconds later. And it's kids asking what I said. Ah! Zant, give me your third and final. You know this game made the list. I'm going to go returnal. Oh, okay. Interesting. So this is going to be my first poll that's not a top 10. But returnal, when it hit, and I've heard Andy bring it up constantly, especially Asara was coming out. I know blessing. You could, you could yell and get him back. No, I know. I know about blessing and Andy have absolutely loved this game. This is one of my top five games of all time. Like I was impressed with both gameplay and the story. The story that had so many surprises to it that was drawn. It was the gameplay mechanics and the road-gloke nature. Absolutely amazing game. But I don't need to sell people on that. I'm going to need to sell people on my pick.

31:49The fact that again, Andy has continuously brought this game up to me screams it has to make it somewhere in his top 20. Coupled with blessing, Barrett. Like it is logical to see this represented, even if it didn't hit with all of kind of funny. I would have loved to had seen Saros surpass it, but I don't think it did. So I think this is one that with maybe perhaps playing Saros and getting to this list of like, yeah, I enjoyed it. But like, man, it did not surpass returnally. And I'm marking this one down over that. Interesting. Madeline, do you think returnal has a shot at the list? It's the first one that we've mentioned that I'm questioning. I will say that. I do know that Andy likes returnal. I'm trying to think if anyone else really loved returnal. I want to say, I feel like Barrett liked returnal. I want to say Tim did too. I feel like this wasn't game that had hooks in us.

32:50But it doesn't feel like, I feel like all of the rest that we've mentioned so far, like absolute gamey. We're all like, yes, yes, yes. And this one, I'm like, yeah, it is a hundred games. That's a lot of games. But I'm like, where? I'm like, I'm going to call a shot. You got a call a shot here. You have to. And I think it's a good one. I don't think it's a bad choice by far. I'm just like questioning. I'm like, I do think if it's there, it's like 80 or below. Okay, fair enough. What's your final? You know this game's going to make the list, Madeline. My final this game's going to make the list, I think, is another one. Everyone's going to agree on is God of War 2018. I think that's a gimme. I can see that one. I'm going to call my shot here too. I'm going to say God of War 2018 makes top 15. Top 15, okay. Okay. And I think it's just everyone. I think multiple people at kind of funny, you know, your self-grig. Other people have talked about how impactful this story was to you.

33:50How, you know, when this trailer launched and the seamless camera following Kratos around, we got dad Kratos just, you know, put it in, getting this in our audience. The feel of the Leviathan acts like I just think this game has has something that a lot of people really resonated with and it stuck with them. The story and the gameplay and something people revisit. One of the reasons people are excited to see Louis Faye later. And I think definitely the, the, the God of War 2018 hits higher than Ragnarok, which I feel like that's, that's the question here, right? It's like, I feel like the first thing is the one that sticks in your memory. Even if the second one is well loved and awesome and, and you really liked it and rated it highly, I feel like it's hard to, when you're just looking back in your memories, compare it to like the first impact of playing the first game in a franchise a lot of times. Yeah. Yeah.

34:50Yeah. I think that's, you know, some of you've talked a lot about on Gamescast, not even about top 100, just about PlayStation in general, where all these sequels and follow-ups are probably in arguably better games, but they don't have that impact. They don't have that. You know what it's going to be. You know what Horizon 2 is going to be. What Spider-Man 2 with slash 3 is going to be so on and so forth as you run through these generational things. Kyle, that turns to you. Your third and final pick of the games you know made the list. Oh boy, this is tough. I think I'm going with the game that is so visually exciting and the gameplay is, so highly skilled. I'm going with Cuphead. Oh, I think Cuphead makes top 100. I think both Barrett and Tim specifically, I think, might weigh it in there. I mean, what studio MDHR did with Cuphead is legendary just the way it looks. The fact that it works as well as it does with that art style and gameplay is,

35:52you know, one for the history books. So I think Cuphead definitely deserves to be on this list. And I think just like, I remember years ago when Tim beat it, like that was a big thing. Can you believe in that? That's a bit like I know. So like I definitely think Cuphead's on the list. I would go closer to 100, 100 maybe in the 90s. I like that. I like that. But I think it kind of like squeaks by in there. And then I'm sorry, I'm making my nose because I want to make sure we don't. You're good. You got to either mock or praise all of you for doing this. I know. I feel like I should have to put a number on my, I think I should have to put a guess on my Spider-Man now. And I'm going to. This is the whole thing when you we do the predictions episode. You got Katie G keeping stats and who somebody's going to give you a point five point if you get in there. I'm going to say Spider-Man 2018 is also in the top 15. Top 15, okay. I like that. You know what? Actually, I'm going to say top 10. I'm going to shoot it. I'm going to do it. I don't think it's top 10.

45:16So, top 100 definition. Best, favorite, iconic, influential, timeless, classic. All are factors, sure, but in no mathematical way. It really comes down to quote, these are the games we would fight for. These are the games the people that make kind of funny love the most. And you've seen that as a debate as bless comes in here and yells on this. Franchises. It's up to the individuals how to handle multiple franchise entries, remakes, remasters, reimagines and similar versions. Barrett highlighted the overlaps in similar games and had individual conversations with us to see if we felt strongly before locking you in a final list. Qualifications is where I talked about. The game had to come out before December 31, 2021, and then no ties. This is something I saw the chat debating as well. We prioritized passion. So, if there was a tie, it went to the game that averaged the highest on the personal lists. I know we have seen your feedback on our game of the year when ties come up. So, there's that going on. And I just want to encourage you all to be a part of this. Top 100 humongous celebration for us, a huge event.

46:18You can go to your social media of choice. Kevin has brought up old blue sky over there. There is a little graphic we have here that you could go download and fill in for your own edification and enjoyment, whether you're on Instagram, blue sky. I think maybe it's on next, but I don't go there anymore because of the Nazis. You of course get this filled out and put it in if you tag kind of funny. Chances are we'll try to share it for you as we do this. And of course, it's the top 10 predictions. So, you could do it for a while. Go put them up on the reddit, go do whatever. Just print them out. Put them up all over your town. That'd be fun. But enough about the games that we are sure are going to be top 10s. Let's talk about the three games you hope made the list. Madeline kick it off. Okay, this is one that I really hope makes the list, but I don't know if this is just a Greg game. Okay? Greg, you and I have a lot of similar tastes. I feel like we like a lot of the same games. And I want to bring up Life is Strange. It'll be yourself. Life is strange. Okay.

47:18I feel like Life is Strange is like one of those games that has a really interesting story is has a really cool art style like really stuck with me. Yeah. And is one of those sort of like almost walking some kind of games that I just feel like defines that genre of game and is the thing. And we always talk about Bayer Bay. It's a very hot topic. And but I don't know that anyone who else in kind of funny really likes Life is Strange. But I feel like it is such just an iconic game for me. I remember coming to kind of funny to hear about the conversations about Life is Strange. And just wanting to get more and more from it. So I don't know. I don't think it I don't know if it will. But I hope it makes a list. I think it deserves some representation. Life is Strange. Yeah. Has quite the lineage here. Of course, me usually beating the drum. But you do have these days blessing and Roger. Like there's definitely Life is Strange fans here.

48:19But then you get into that usual conversation of there's been so many Life is Strange. And then I always again, to be open with you of the fact that I voted blindly. Like I don't think there was a lot of sit down conversations of people trying to ring the system. So there is that thing of did I vote for Life is Strange? Did they vote for a different Life is Strange? Who put it in there? You never know what's going to happen out there. But of course, Chloe and Max's story. Come on. Lunched a whole bunch of different stuff. It really was part of that rise of the tell tale walking sim. Let's get in the emotional baggage and really go with it. Never going to forget Life is Strange. A great pick, Madeline. I'm glad you hope it makes a list. I hope it does as well. Kyle, what about you? First, I'm going to piggyback off that as well. Same kind of genre. And you just mentioned it. It's the game that showed me that I want narratives in my video games way back in the day. Okay. It's the Walking Dead season one from Telltale. Daytale. What a joy.com. Yeah. Lee and Clem's story means so much to me that just personally speaking like that is

49:21when my oldest niece was born and she looked a whole lot like Clem. So that game just hit me in the fields from the Gecko. And I think this is a superb just season of story and Telltale at its highest power. So I think Lee and Clem should be on this list and I hope it's on this list. Because like this is just think of how what Telltale did after this one. Right? Like it is groundbreaking in the industry. So I sure as I'll hope it's on there. I really do. I'm going to be this will be the one game that I will be upset if it doesn't make it. Ooh, I like that. I like that you put the skin in the game that way. Exactly. I'm not putting a number. Yeah. I will be sad and crying if it doesn't. I'm glad you picked it because it was between I those were the two things I was thinking of between Life is Strange and Walking Dead and I went with Life is Strange just because of Bay versus Bay and how that continues to be a conversation. But I do think the Walking Dead is so impactful to me as well.

50:22And I it is such a good game. I could definitely see it making it. Zaeath, what do you hope makes the list with your first pick? Oh, first pick. I think let's just keep the string of emotional games going. So I'm going to think real small but I'm going to think of a game that in the past year has made me feel something and I know it made a lot of people kind of funny feel something. I'm going to go and Roger. Oh, yes. A game we adored that actually broke out is one of those hairs getting your emotions and be sad games that only I talk about usually and then everybody else started playing and loving it too. Yeah, it I don't think I've played through this without crying and even knowing it, right? It still has that capability through its storytelling, through the interactivity. It's also short. It's digestible where you know, as we look, there are going to be some games on this list that are harder to get through.

51:23I think my next pick will be one of them. But everybody can find the what four hours. I use this in class. I for when we get to digital media, I use this. We set off one and a half classes to play it so that they can see this interactive element and see the story that unfolds. And yeah, I think it just hits and I would hope to see it in this list. Very interesting. I'm curious what you all think about about the recent C bias versus like a recent C aversion actually. Because I feel like when you, there's a recent C bias that definitely exists sometimes where you just played something and you love it. But I feel like when you're thinking about top 100, you're like, what are the games that have stayed with me forever and that I love? And then I feel like there's maybe sometimes a recent C aversion with that where it's like, well, I only really liked it recently but it's not something that stayed with me forever. Like, you know, something that I've loved since I was in college or, you know, my early days at IGN, like, I'm curious what you all think about

52:24the recent C affecting and are not. I think that's kind of where the latter half of the list will land. Like the high, you know, 80s stuff of the 100, I think will be more of the recent games for that reason where the games that have stuck with the KF crew for such a long time will be higher up and then some of the recent picks there. But shout says, Anthony Picken and Roger, I adore that game. It's very special. So beautiful. Love it. Wait a minute. I just wanted to meet you. Like this entire hope section where I'm like, now I can't talk. Now I can't talk about what I did or why I didn't. I just have to sit here and be very quiet and nice. Zaynth Walworth, you talked about another one that was going to be in the same bag or whatever, talk to me about your second pick for a game you hope makes it. Yeah, so I, you know, and Roger, short digestible. And then my next pick, a little bit longer, right? It's going to take you some work to get to. I would hope Metaphor refund Haseo makes its way.

53:25I know, again, as we go, like, why would this make the list in my opinion and why am I hoping on it? One, it's an amazing game. I know there's a lot of kind of funny people I'm looking at you, Barrett, that absolutely mess with this game. I was, I'm not a persona person. Like, I've never been into persona. And hearing, you know, some of the talk around Metaphor, I was like, okay, well, we're going into a fantasy setting. I'm, I can give it a shot. Then they put out the demo. And by the time I finished the demo, I was like, I absolutely need to play this 100% through. And the story echoes to this day with me as we kind of look at the world around us. So it seems like something that should be there. However, again, same kind of thing. It's a lot longer. And there is that recency of it just coming out. So maybe it isn't in that top 100,

54:25but I really, really hope that it is. Okay, okay. That literally is like ways right into one of mine. Go Madeline. Which I have that same, I love this because we're all in the same like area and like, oh, close by. So I had that same thought, but I was also thinking about Barrett and Blessing and maybe some other people, but Persona 5 Royal. Like I would, I picked Persona 5 Royal above Metaphor because it does have that. It's a little bit older, a little less of the recency. And I think Persona 5 is the Persona game that a lot of people now think of when they think of Persona. It kind of broke out of that little niche that I think the Persona games have. I think it kind of went out to other people. It's the first Persona game that I played because Barrett was talking so highly of it. I think Blessing was talking about it multiple people. It is really long, so I don't know how much it is, but I do think Persona 5 Royal has a better chance of making the list because it is such

55:26like one of the best executions of that type of game of the JRPG and it just, the story really resonates with people. I, you know, was just saw someone with a really cool Persona 5 Royal tattoo. I literally had never played any Persona's and I would go to bat for this game. So I feel like it's going to be high in Barrett's list and maybe in some other list as well. Okay. Do you think it's the only Persona on the list? It's interesting because I know what was the Persona that you more vived with, Greg? Persona 4 Golden. 4 Golden, yeah. So I don't know if, but I don't know how other people felt about Persona 4 Golden. I know that Blessing loves it as well. I know I think Barrett loves it as well. I'm maybe a blessing for sure, but then you get into this conversation of, I have no idea how they thought about their list, but was it, I'm willing to, I can't put two Personas on there. I can't, you know, you know, you have to go on and that's what's going to represent that franchise or not. That's why I'm like, I do think Persona 5 Royal was hot would be higher on Barrett's list if I'm guessing.

56:27So I'm wondering if that pushes it in, but maybe Golden, if it's on more lists, I don't know, I don't know how the math math, I'm not a math girl, but. Is this math method? I don't know. We'll find out next week. Kyle, what's your second pick for a game you hope makes the list? So this is, this hopeless is me just being in my own head of like, exactly. These are like games that mean something to me. And this is why I love Stobeik Mike very much, because he also goes to bat for this series. Oh, EA sports big needs to make a moment in this top 100 list. I could not pick one. So you're on the banner of EA sports big just the banner. No, I would be happy to see whether it's an SSX, whether it's an NBA street at Def Jam vendetta. I EA sports big will will show itself at some point in the top 100 list. I'm hoping I'm leaning more towards the NBA street out of them all. But what a time to be alive. I, you know, making sports cool for the non sports fans.

57:29Yeah. It's, it's a, it's a brand that I wish comes back. It'll never will. Crazy that it hasn't. Right. Exactly. So I think a big game will be there and probably NBA street if I had to pick one. I mean, that was a big one for me and Poe back in the day. OMG, Alex superchatted and said, my question is, what's the highest number in the top 100 that you can look at and say? That was only on Mike's list. I will be interested to see if any of us can make an only blank game work. You know what I mean? Like I don't, I don't buy it. Like I don't buy that in this gigantic list that I can be like, here's my weird Greg game that I'm putting on there. And even if I put it really, really high, if I have nobody else with me, I don't know. I don't think it's going to happen. But we'll see. Kyle while we're here, give me your third and final game. You hope we'll make the list. Uh, a, um, oh man, might be the oldest game, I think I'm the list. I'm going to, I'm going Tetris. Oh, it's a great poll.

58:30I'm going Tetris. Great poll. Uh, I was trying to think of like classic games like, you know, from the older, uh, I was between this or Pac-Man and I will. I think Tetris is the one that makes it because like Tetris is perfect. I don't know how much more perfect you can get with Tetris. Now, of course, we're looking at Tetris effect right now. Yes. Tetris is Tetris is Tetris. Do you think? Do you, are you saying like Game Boy Tetris? Are you saying, oh G Tetris? I got it. I got it. Green screen and all that. Yeah. Cause like, yeah, you know, Tetris effect is awesome. Yeah. Of course. I, I, I wept playing this in VR of how like a religious experience it was. Uh, but yeah, O G Tetris, I think is the one that makes it. Okay. Mad all the way. I thought about this one too. No, no, you're good. Uh, I thought about this one too. And I was like, well, I know Greg's high on Luminous. As well. I'm like, would you put Luminous over? Can I get any of these fuckers to be high on Luminous? Yeah. I know.

59:30And then I was like, I don't know. It's one of those things like I'm saying like, I think does Tetris impact you? Like I think like on a sort of global level, yes, Tetris is like one of the first games. And it is a perfect, amazing game. But like when you're thinking about your top 100 and it's about things you would go to bat for, like is anyone riding for Tetris like that over something that they have a more emotional connection to? Like even though Tetris effect had some really cool music, there's different Tetris that kind of played a little bit more with your emotions. I don't know if people are going to go to like that game as something that they're going to fight for, which is why I didn't end up picking it. But I still think it's a good pick. What is your third and final pick? Oh, it's so hard. I don't know. I guess I'm going to go with a game from one of my favorite developers that I know Andy really loved, but I don't know how many other people loved it, which is control from remedy. Let's go. Like I think control is one of the control I fucking love to control it.

1:00:32Well, it's just straight years later and he gets all the credit for it. Yes, that's how it works Greg. Okay. I love control. I've been an Alan Wake fan for forever. And so then when Alan Wake got connected control through the DLC, uh, controls just like controls. Also one of those, I don't think most people would see it this way, but I do like a superhero game. Like you have amazing powers. You're flying around. The story is so interesting. The art design is fantastic. I think control works on every single level for me. I also think with resident coming out recently, it's kind of bringing people back to controlling like, oh my God, that game was awesome. Um, like I remember when y'all were doing your game of the air conversation, like that's when Andy was really championing control. Like it should be higher. It should be, it should be high on the list. So that's why I connect it with Andy. But I, I just think remedy does it like no one else and they deserve a spot on the list. And I think of all of the remedy games control is the one that's most likely to make the list. I want to fight for Alan Wake too.

1:01:34I don't feel confident in that. So I'm fighting for control because I think a lot of people, like I think blessing Andy, you all like control. Don't try to cut me out of it now that you remember that I did it. I'm looking at it right now. Control review. Kind of funny games, cast episode 235. This is August 26, 2019. I'm the reviewer. To me, that final fantasy is final fantasy six. Like, oh, okay. It is, it is the best one. It's like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, and you know that none of them are on my,

1:02:36I'm like, clearly we're gonna have probably multiple final fantasies on the list. I would imagine, right? With a seven, everybody loved fifth, no, not fifth. No, the client one, 16, 16, 16. 16. Um, yeah, I think I think choosing a final fantasy is hard. I think more logically it'll be 10 or seven, right? Like those, those are more logical picks. But to me, as I'm looking like what I hope makes a list, it is the best final fantasy. And that is final fantasy six. And I will, I will debate, fight anybody on that. I think six is the best. I think if you grew up in that super Nintendo RPG time, this in Chrono Trigger had an impact on you that has more than likely stayed, you know, go back to what we were talking about before over thinking of old games versus new games. My hope is that a lot of you searched your hearts and you saw final fantasy six in it, and you put it on your list. Man, that's a hope game for sure. I appreciate it.

Does Greg Greg the character love Starfield? Does Greg the inner Greg the young child Greg like? Did your inner love love Starfield as much as it's perceived? That's my question. You don't have to answer. It's just. I can answer. I can answer. Tim was very clear. I could not talk on this one. I've done enough. But I won't fucking forget this. I give you a panel. 1:06:43And I think a lot of people that kind of funny like this game. But I don't know if it's making anybody's list. That kind of funny. But my number one game of all time until dawn needs to be on the list. And I don't think it's making the list. That's your number one game of all time. Yeah. Wow, I've never heard that from you. That's fascinating. I love that pick for you. That is my top. My favorite game of all time is until dawn. And I don't think it's making the list. But it should because it's the best of that type of game that exists. And I'm talking about the OG until dawn. Yeah. It is what I think this is genre of the sort of choose your own adventure things. Like it hit this peak and it's never quite reached this peak again. It is like exactly what I want from a playable horror movie. I love this game. I love the characters. I will play this game every year for the rest of my life. Because it's so good. And I just feel like it needs. It needs its flowers and it's not going to get them.

1:07:45And here's the thing. I was thinking like I think we could have picked like games that are not going to make the list like freaking candy crush. I wanted to pick something that could maybe make the list. Oh yeah. I'd be furious if you came in like candy. I'm like, what a bad lip. Oh. But I don't think until dawn is when people are searching their list. I don't know if it if it sits high enough in anyone's heart to make it on there. And that's okay. Okay. We'll find that next week. Kyle, what about you? So I did have that joke where earlier today I clicked on the gamescast link and I saw that the game linked to this episode was the Lord of the Rings column. It's like let me throw it on there. It's not making the list. But I think for real my first one is it is a series that I'm baffled. I'm going back to the stomach mic. Light of thinking. When I found out he was an age of Empire's fan that threw me for a loop. I think he's going to vote for it in there.

1:08:46Yeah. I just don't think it's going to make the list. This is also just like a broad stroke of like this genre of game. I don't know it will make the top 100 at all. But I chose age of vampires just because it is I think the best representation of that one when I think of kind of funny. It's specifically Mike. Yeah, of course. But yeah, I don't think Mike is strong enough to have gotten you all in on the age of vampires, bandwagon. Yeah, that'll be fascinating if he was able to get age of vampires to chart. Nothing's impossible in the top 100. That's true. Yeah, always true. I always see on that one. What's your other give me your second no shot pick. I actually have a question for you, Greg. You were making your list. Were you going like console by console like thinking of each console and then shortening it down that way? So I don't think I thought of it as console V console, but I definitely went to hear all my PlayStation trophies and I went all the way back here or all my Xbox and

1:09:47console the way back here. My steam stuff. The reason I ask is because I feel like there was should be some Vita representation. It is kind of funny after all, top 100. And this does hurt a little bit, but I think out of everyone, you would be the one to include on the list. I'm going freedom wars. My God. My God. My Kyle. I think out of all I was thinking like all these Vita games, which one you already mentioned. Just on a far golden of course. But I think freedom wars is such a moment that took you away for a while. Like that was the thing you played. And I, again, I think there should be some Vita representation. But I don't think anyone else that KF has that love for this era. So it hurts me to say, but I don't think freedom wars. There's no justice here. I've tried. I've tried to get them all to go back and play Vita. They refuse. They don't want to. There's something wrong with them. But yeah, man, freedom wars. What a game. And I'll be honest with you straight up. I don't even know if it's on my top 100. But it could be. That's very, that's totally very. I write it down and forget, which is good for me hosting this show.

1:10:49Because yeah, I'm very interested to see. Not only can I not wait for next week, I'm then very interested in the weeks following where we do sit down and go like, all right, what was my top 100 and I go through and justify to you. Every game is here. And why every game is in here and stuff like that. But man, freedom wars, the Panopta Khan, get out there. What a time. Really ahead of its time too. You know what I mean? But I get it. I'm getting away from myself. Madeline, give me your second pick for games. I have no shot being a list. My second choice, which is also one of my top five favorite games. But I don't know if enough people that kind of funny played it. And I don't know if it reached sort of where it should. Which is disco allizium, specifically the final cut that's all voice acted. Okay. Yeah. This one was a Lucy James. That's Lucy James got me to play this. Sure. A woman of taste. Okay. And this game is amazing. The story is amazing. The gameplay is fantastic. This game moved me so much to tears.

1:11:52It had so much to say about politics and personal responsibility and depression and all of these things that were so impactful. But I don't know if it really reached any of anyone here. I don't feel like there were big disco allizium defenders at kind of funny. So I'm I think blessing like did. Blessing did like it. Yeah. But I don't know if like if it was one of his favorite game like top 100. So I'm like, and if he if it's like low, if it's 50 or below and he's the only one that has it on the list, I don't know if it's going to really make it into the top 100. Yeah. Can I make it? So I think it should be on there. I think it's an amazing CRPG. It's so cool. The art style is freaking fantastic. And those characters are just they stick with me they stuck with me forever. That story has stuck with me forever. We'll find out on Monday. Zanth, your second game that has no shot of being on the list.

1:12:52So I said I was going to I hurt you first and I will return the hurt back myself. Echoing, you know, with with Madeline, you know, games that I love and I am passionate about. I think Diablo 2, right? As you if you're going to list the hundred greatest games of all time Diablo 2 makes that list nine out of ten times. I think this is the one out of ten times that it doesn't. I don't think I don't think there's anybody at kind of funny that really messes with Diablo 2 in that way. Diablo 4 has had its moments, right? It's kind of why I'm here. But Diablo 2, even the resurrected version just doesn't have that impact. It doesn't have as many champions. You know, I could see it making Mike's list maybe. I know he's a Blizzard diehard. But I don't think there's anybody else that's going to say like, hey, this this should be in there.

1:13:56This is this is my, you know, top 50 or top 60 or anything like that. I just don't see it making a buddy else's list. Whereas it would be probably number one on mine. Wow. Yeah, yeah. I know. Interesting work. That's an interesting one. Because you know, I came in with Diablo 3. I basically bought anything I use as a computer to do that in Sim City. And then obviously how much I love Diablo 4. Just this summer I went back to Resurrected Diablo 2 and tried to play it. And I was like, oh no. The quality of life, things I've come to expect are not here. And I'm not, I'm not about this Diablo. Yeah, I mean, it is a great game. But it's also still buoyed a lot by nostalgia. Of course. And if you did not play it when it launched or, you know, with the expansion, it doesn't have the same resonance as what it does for me. And I can see why it doesn't make a lot of people's lists in that regard. But it's, it's an old timer in my opinion.

1:14:59Fair enough. While we're here, give me your final game that has no shot at making the list, Sam. Oh, I think this is much harder. You know, kind of like seeing it winnowed down. I'm going to, I'm going to take a big claim here. Because I think this could backfire. But I'm going to go with World of Warcraft. Uh-oh. I think it, I know there's a lot of people who are excited for the new World of Warcraft. For World of Warcraft forever. It's got me coming back, right? And, and there is that excitement. But, you know, as you guys are putting together these lists, you know, nobody's meaning while, uh, right now. It may have had an impact, but I don't know how much of that is felt at kind of funny anymore, where I could see it maybe if it did make the list, it was that back 100. Those points don't add up to being much. And I, I think that's where we see while not make this list. Yeah, this is, you know, again, I know nothing, but this is going to be on Mike's list.

1:16:03How high on Mike's list is wow. And I think he is the only wow person here. Like, I want to get into wow. I, you know, I tried with, uh, Jen. What was that last year? And it was like so much so complex. I'm looking forward to forever a more slim down. Here's this pure experience. See if that gets me. Well, we'll visit this in a few years, maybe wild forever. Maybe wild forever. Maybe we'll be on the next time we do this when Ben's voting. Madeline, what about you? Your third and final no-shot pick. Yeah, I think this one also is going to be like a little spicy because I feel like it could be on the list, but I'm, I put myself in, I was trying to put myself in the kind of funny hive mind that you have to. And I'm thinking about how the lists are being made. and I'm thinking of what's something that people like, but might forget about Ormiss, that might make it not be the list. And since you did read Tim's caveat, I picked a specific entry, but I'm gonna say the whole thing in general,

1:17:04which is Guitar Hero. I think Guitar Hero was the moment. It was, we all had the periphery. It was some of the most fun time I've ever had gaming with my friends. And it's been so long now since we're playing those types of games that I think it might have fallen off. I know y'all did a big rock band world tour stream. You did a lot of that sort of stuff, but Guitar Hero was like the iconic music friendship game that was just so fun, so good. And I worry that since it's not a traditional style game that it might have gotten left off the list. It's interesting that you go Guitar Hero. And I do know that Tim Getty's is a Guitar Hero man, but like IGN was so rock band coded. That like, you know what I mean? That's where I am. Oh, if you were to sound, hey, what's your favorite music game? I'd be like rock band. And then you free, oh, interesting, interesting, interesting. But there's no rock band without Guitar Hero.

1:18:04I'm aware, I'm aware. I'm not trying to take away Guitar Hero's grotto toss here, but I think it's an interesting one of, I'll be interesting if this gets there, but this is why you're putting on the no shot list, which I appreciate. And then Kyle, close me out. What's your final game on the no shot list? I can't mad on you. Just going back and forth with like the same kind of games. Again, I was thinking platform specific, trying to see what that representation would look like. And my favorite VR experience is Beat Saber, but I think it's making the list. I agree with you here. It's a good pull. Beat Saber is incredible. Yeah, Beat Saber is incredible. And I think is AVR seller. I know you guys had a great time with it. I just don't know if it had that, as Matt and I was talking about earlier, that sticking power of like, when I think back on what my 100 top favorite games are, is Beat Saber there? Or am I leaning towards a guitar here or a rock band as like my music rhythm gaming experiences? But truly feel like the future while you're playing Beat Saber. And if you have not experienced VR,

1:19:06then you're missing out big time. Yeah, I think Beat Saber does not have a shot, but it should. It really should. I like that. That's a good way to put it. Doesn't have a shot, but it should. Yeah. That's what we're talking about. We're talking about a no shot game. So to recap the entire run, everybody goes like this. The games this panel know will make the list. Zanth says Breath of the Wild, top five, Elden Ring, top 10, returnal, somewhere between 80 and 100. Madeline said Spider-Man 2018 in the top 10, the last of us, somewhere in 25 to 75, God of War 2018 in the top 15.
