Crystal Geyser Alpine Springwater, always bottled at the source. Nick Wilson, Jonathan Peterlin live back here at Dave and Busters in West Lake. Our guy Al Bundy, I believe from it, he'll be back later. But come on by and see us. We are broadcasting live here in a course. We got the round table later as part of the fan aversary there. And you guys can also vote. At Nick Wilson says on the pole, which trade was more disastrous for the acquiring organization, the Browns and DeShawn, or the Clippers and Kauai. With all that being said, we got Rand Carthon, NFL analyst coming up at about 20 minutes time.

But let's go ahead and get two quick hits. From the latest news and rumors around the sports world to the sound bites you need to hear. Hi, hi. It's quick hits. All right, JP 2025 was a disappointing year for the Eagles, because they only made the playoffs. Not that I'm judging. And this offseason has been one of change. AJ Brown gone, some other other stalwarts are gone as well. But Philly GM, how he roseman, rebutted the idea of a maker break season for head coach Nick Cereyani or quarterback Jalen Hertz when he appeared on WIP yesterday. No, I don't agree with that. I think that the bottom line for us in the positions that we're in and really for all our fan base is when it's football game. And all the guy does is when football games. And that includes our head coach as well, you know, and I think that for me, the barometer is when it's football games. In terms of what Jalen does, he's another guy with a tremendous track record. All he does is go out and play good football. Really excited to have him as our quarterback excited about the season and what we have going forward.

And I know there are a lot of fan bases out there that would love the results that we've had with him as our starting quarterback. Is how he roseman telling the truth about Cereyani and Jalen Hertz? No, not at all. It'd be odd if he was like, yeah, you're right. This is a maker break year. Then the follow up is well for which one. And then you'd have to give an answer. It's like, no, no, no. I don't know what's going to happen with Jalen Hertz after this year. I still think I think he's good. At one point, you had him as the fifth best quarterback in the sport. After we won a Super Bowl, let's put the context on there. I don't know if I ever agreed with that. But I think it's not now. But but but people definitely, you know, they thought of him in a highlight. At one point, Cereyani, I think is a dodo bird. But he still does have like the fourth highest winning percentage in NFL history. So he's obviously doing something right. No, I I don't know if you're how he roseman, how you break this up at the end of the season. If you're still going to the postseason and still having success. Yeah, and I think that's where I think people expect if they don't win a Super Bowl this year that the organization is going to come on glued. I think one thing how he roseman has shown time and time again is he doesn't care what people think.

And I think maybe that's where some of Andrew Barry got his don't give a you know, Kelly trying to stuff him in a locker in the corner. Well, and oh, I I listened to his old assistant GM on Trey Wingo's podcast and they call that their year and exile. No, they did. They did. Funny. It's like, Kelly just put him in a closet down the hall and was like, you don't matter anymore. Yeah, like you don't exist. Like you just go do Kelly's the OC at Northwestern. Go do other things is what he was told. And then and then yes, it all happened very, very quickly and very fast. That's funny. They referred to as the year and exile. Yeah, that's great. Did you see the Jalen Hertz was advantage fair? I think did an interview with him. One of the why is that? A fair doing any of these exposés. So that was the point, right? Is why is why is vanity fair doing this? Why is any of these non football publications? So they got a half hour. This guy looks nerdy as nerdy gets right? And I'm not going to call somebody a nerd, but I call it out. And and and Jalen Hertz has done with this interview. And and Jalen then goes. So like you don't want to ask me anything about something that like isn't football related? And the guy's like, the guy's like, well, I mean, I got 30 minutes.

I thought we're done. He goes, I could have called up L.U. to our parks if I wanted to talk about the Eagles. Like you just asked me about the Eagles for a half hour. Where you're vanity fair? Why aren't you asking me about things that aren't football? I agreed to do the interview because I didn't want to talk football. And here you are asking me about the Eagles. I can't talk to anybody about the Eagles. Kind of like it. Lost his mind. I thought it was great. Kind of like it by Jalen Hertz. He's got a point. Yeah, he's got it. Like he doesn't create a do a GQ vanity fair. Any of these places because he wants to talk about how the Eagles are going to be this year. He's trying to get his branding out there. He's trying to counterpoint. Get a message out there that isn't just, I'm football guy. Who wants to hear anything? Football, a non-football from Jalen Hertz? Well, with this interviewer who's obviously not a sports reporter in any sort of way, he's just the guy that works for vanity fair that was tasked to do this. It's a tough one. It was really proud of himself too. I'm like, well, thank you. This has been great. Thank you so much for this. We talked about football. Yeah, like we did it. I love to. I thought it was absolutely hysterical. Poor guy. Yeah, basically. Oh my god. All right, next up, Baker Mayfield was on the Rich Eisen show. And he talked about taking on the Browns in week two this year. No, honestly, it's just about winning.

And really, I could care less about what's going on in the quarterback situation. And they were building it. It's just about feeding them and letting them know that I found a home. Okay, I mean, that seems pretty direct into the point there. He seems like he's more focused on just trying to make sure he gets the dub. Is not worried about rubbing in the Browns faces at all. And I just don't believe. Yeah, nobody believes that last part. It's not how he's built. No, I'd listen. I think Baker is built like somebody who not only, it's not enough for him just to have all the success in the world. He needs to make sure that the Browns have no success. Yes, he is. That's the best world for him. And that's okay. Because that's why he got to be the first pick in the NFL draft. Yes, Paddy LaBelle, whatever you want to call it. But like that's who he is. And you can't tell us of all people that you're something different than that. We know who you are. We had a lot of us like that about you for being honest. It's funny to me that Baker is trying to walk this line of being like, I'm a different man, but also I'm the same person. Yeah, it's like, well, yes, I'm still very petty. And I still wish, you know, pops upon anyone that has ever even tangentially harmed me.

But also, I've learned and not talk as quickly this time. I don't lash out an anger the same way. And it's like, I'm sorry, friend, though. It's okay. I think you're more mature in some ways. I get that. You're still, as you had said, Tom Petty or Paddy LaBelle. I've tried to figure out what he is going to do as far as like a touchdown celebration or how he's really going to rub it in. Got to grab it. I would the catch the crotch grab in Kansas has got to make a return that's a shout out to John Dorsey. I almost wonder if he even does like a money sign or a wrist. He might do a wrist up because he's he's been known to mock other players celebrations. So a wrist up is 100% on the table. Baker bros versus Shedors and the world and social media cannot handle it. Always bottled at the source. Yesterday, as we talked about earlier, the NBA announcing a $30 million fine and year-long suspension for L.A. owner Steve Balmer amongst other penalties for the organization for salary cap circumvention over Kawaii Leonard's contract, Twitter user The Fake A-Beam, suggesting the five first rounders that were stripped by the Lakers or for the Lakers should be part of the prize each season for winning the W for the NBA's play in tournament over the next five years. Do you love or hate this idea? It's like sure, if that's funny. It doesn't fly in the face of it should ever be realistic. We're also stock if like, I don't know the spurs kept winning them, you know what I mean? We don't want to reward teams for being good, but it would make it incredibly innovative and it would make it much more interesting as far as the outcomes are concerned. I've actually thought for a long time that a team is stripped of a draft pick and

or they forfeit one in like a supplemental draft situation in the NFL. Yeah. I've always thought that that should go in the hopper and like there should be a lottery situation for that pick. A lottery. Yeah. I like that with like the ping pong balls and everything. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. But I do like this as well. I like them playing for it. If we're going to give it to somebody, I like them playing for it and then you get to really find out who thinks their whole trajectory is going to be changing. I mean, the clippers are going to suck. And so like that pick could be top five for a lot of years. And I think that's where again, if the clippers were a 21 team for three of those five years, I think you would have an absolute, I mean, incredible play in tournaments. So that is going to help shape by the way, the discussion that we have on Kauai. And who you talked about like in years moving forward, how we're going to talk about it. If the resulting picks end up being a bunch of SGAs and a bunch of guys that we consider to just be NBA greats or NBA MVP winners and people that would just obviously transform an entire NBA team, that's going to change it. And instead of if it's like, oh, they got the eighth pick and that turns out to be the equivalent of,

I don't know, Colin Sxton, not that he needed any shade here. Carl Ravich. Oh, it's your turn. It's me. Oh, go ahead. Dave Donovan Mitchell, let's go there. He's on Vince Carter's podcast talking about if there was ever a loss that he felt the most in his NBA career. If there is ever in my nine years going on 10, which is crazy, if there's ever a situation where I'm like, you want a game back, I think I know all the games. Of course. This that game one. I'm saying just and who knows, play so well in game seven, we ride and we, and we carried it completely over to to game one. And because you're up 25 would not need to go away from the principles. And then you got role players on their team knocking shots down. Like there's different things we could have. We could look at, yeah, we should have covered it as we could have called time out. We could have knocked down a shot. Could have drove to a basket instead of settling for a jump shot. Like there's all those things, but like the intentionality is so it's just so important. We got to give credit where credit is due. They did they job. But we definitely gave them that game in our in our intentionality, which I think definitely hurts.

I think it's obvious now, nothing would have changed in the series. You've had one game one. The Nick still one to one and they still want to move down to the finals. But I love the idea that they're at least living with this is the big one if and if. Yeah, as of right now, that loss is the first thing I'm going to think of with Donovan Mitchell's error in the Cavaliers. There really is. Yeah, it's a defining one. It was the lights were too bright with the Nick series up until now. We have this other one with the Nick series. So I mean, I, I, I don't know how in a much more competitive Eastern conference, you can walk that back next year, but I'm with you. Like I think the JR Smith game one against the Warriors eight and everybody on the calves for years. Yeah, that's a defining one. I'm okay if this one burns at you for a while and maybe it's part of your fuel going forward because as a fan, every time I think back, I can't, I can't think they made the Eastern conference finals. It's no, you got swept and it started one of the most humiliating collapses in calves history. Yeah, the only thing that was redeeming about it is that every team ended up having a,

and just as awful of a collapse, if not greater, including the spurs up against that next team, who were just somehow the, the cardiac kids, so to speak, of the NBA. Ohio's last TGA Friday, which was in Brooklyn, is officially closed. The company filed for bankruptcy last year and most of the former corporate locations were actually sold to franchisees over the last year or so. Are you now or were you ever a TGA Friday guy? No, no, never, if I'm being honest about it, I always wanted to be like a TGA Friday's or a Chili's or an Applebee's type person. I've definitely thought about wanting to be one of those guys. Oh, I have never told you this before. I constantly want to be one of those people that goes to Applebee's or Chili's or like, oh, it's a Friday night. Let's just let's just head over to good old Applebee's. They always got it going on. Can I ask you? Why? I don't know. She always seems like they've got great apps, they've got great deals that's left and right. Good. You are an app man. I'm a big app man. The drinks are always nice and I just never go. I never, I never get to go.

So Ness is one of those. I always just want to do it. She just won't do it. So I'm a lease in this scenario. Vanessa's a big chain restaurant gal. Not as a fast food and clearly I like my fast food. But she loves chain restaurants and I support local businesses because I'm a better person. Well, I mean, I, yeah, that's what you want to have to tell you want to phrase it against Vanessa then that's exactly to her face. That's exactly how I say it. I'm sorry. I mean, the common man, huh? It's kind of like an ongoing bit. I'm like, oh, no, they get to go to Applebee's. You know, I, if I got to go, what I actually really appreciated a ton, probably not. I probably, I probably wouldn't. But it's the idea that I never go. It's the idea that we never, we never make our way open. You know, it's important to keep dreaming. I say that's all. You just want to keep things in life just a little mysterious for you. But no, answer question. Never really a TGI Friday's guy. This does absolutely nothing for me in the slightest bit. Yeah, I saw a lot of people doing like, oh, man, and like real sad stuff. And I was like, I, I, I, what was their big, what was their big hook? I feel like they have any that was Friday. I think it was the, no, what was their food hook?

What was their, what was their, they had food? Okay. I don't think they had one. I think that's why they're failing. That's why they're all the aisle, I guess. That is, quick kits. When we come back, ran Carthon, former NFL GM, former NFL, running back, joins us. We'll talk about the Browns build.
