The neutral broadcasting system presents Quiet Please, which is written in the righted Bible as Cooper and which features Ernest Chappell. Quiet Please, what the night is called. Come in, heading.
The Leven goes. Wanted houses? And they got a story for you. We were sitting in the living room alongside fireplace. In Christ's living room. Just sitting there and talking to the living. Having a cable on the bottom. Just sitting there and looking for fire. And Mr. Tooth is caroled with the apartment of the orphanage. The light went in at the end when I was 30 nights. I was about driving out of the cozy of your place. That's what we were talking about the night of the rain. Give a Chappell 12. We were all alone in the house. How long you been here, huh? Where? Here? In that ease, huh? This is my house. It is now. I don't forget it.
No. You feel funny, little? No. I know. That's what you were. Any ever come around? Are you kidding? Nothing. Of how could he? Well, he liked the house pretty well. Yeah, if he gave it around now, he wouldn't recognize it. I couldn't see what he's done with it. Sometimes I'm going to come in. I'll show you the more. Fire feels good. Yeah. Yeah, we have been all this time, too. You're the best. You stayed right here, huh? Yeah. I think maybe Carol and I will ride you low. I'm going to ride you low. From the spring. Not from me. Nobody has?
Hey, Arnold. You had lunch, man? What do you mean? Might. What do you mean? You know, the size of the house? Why? I got some. Why? You'll go? Pretty me. You just got your card? Young and kind? Well, what do you mean? Well, if I'm going to play a thing out, I'm going to do it for fun. You're not going to play for fun. Oh, I thought maybe you'd have an idea. You're not going to do it. Yeah. That's any spin? That's my spin. You don't want any spin? Yeah. I am going to cut the keyboard in here.
So, okay. Yes, and it wouldn't mind if I played it for you. I hope that at least I'll stop with it. I hope that at least I'll stop with it. Never that thing is for my heart. That's a thing that I'm going to do. Hey, cut that out, will you? Well, yeah, leave the piano alone. Okay. We just talk. Why don't you just shut up a while? Oh, why? Can't you feel like talking again?
When I talk. When I talk. You just make fun of me. Want to play? I'll have one. Yeah, I wouldn't want to be alone in this house with Eddie walking around. I got it out, hoarding you. I told you to cut that out, you hear me? Oh, no. You busted one of Eddie's best class. You, son! Just when you tried to cook up. I thought you were the threat of dogs, sir. I'm not. I'm not, I tell you. Yeah, you're the threat, you. I'll put you off the gym. Why, just thought maybe you'd... I'd... You know, get your mind on Eddie's for a little while. Why? Well, I'll tell you, I'm... I got to have some dogs. Oh.
I got it. Good. I mean, I got to have it. Well, listen, you got the big hat when... When... When we murdered Eddie? Oh, it all takes so big on. There's nobody here that you can use me. What was that? That's great. I lost the piano on his feet. What's that? Think it was Eddie? Yes, and I got just about to know with him. You're all cold in here, all of a sudden. And you know one of that door's open. Well, I'll get it. No. Wait. Maybe Eddie needs me. Come in, Eddie. Don't say that. Too late, I... Shut the door, Eddie.
You're all right. You're just a woman, I told you. You must have been a woman. There's only things you know how like this one. Sure. They went to open a door, Eddie. Oh, the bathroom's a door way, but... Close it all to yourself. What? It couldn't be Eddie. Well, that is dead. Eddie died six years ago, by hearing us out. I hear this room. Why couldn't help when I like Eddie? Well, that he was my cousin, wasn't he? I couldn't help it. He had more money than he knew what to do with. I couldn't help wanting his money. Well, everybody wants money, don't they? Eddie shouldn't have let me know he... ...maintained that will and I was to get everything. This is how soon everything will be. I'm not going to be crazy. Can't be easy.
One of you was going to hurt me. You need to be here before that. From me? There is not much way out of it, I don't you see? I got a handdo. No. Can I give it to you? No, look, I know less to be reasonable. You let me have this dough in our own way and I won't come back. How do I know you won't? Well, kid, you don't. But see, you haven't got any alternative. I won't do it. What do I do to him in this state? Who? Marry. Stop talking that way, hang on. Oh, Brian, you find out too if you try to squeal on me. You had just as much to do with it as I did. Yeah, that's right.
So I did. No, don't try anything. Oh, I don't. Don't be such dumb. That's the trouble with you. You're always so dumb. What? This. Who thought I'm knocking off Eddie in the press? You did. Right. And who figured out a way to do it so nobody'd ever even suspicion with me? You did? Well, then, Jerky, I don't think I haven't got an out on this thing. How? I should tell you. Look, take my word for it, I don't. I'm in the clear. Brother, you win. So you might as well lay it on the line and be happy. I don't believe it. Okay, so don't be. But believe me, Arnold, when I tell you it's going to cost you... One thing or the other, not even me. The dough Arnold. Oh, you're right. You see? I won't do it. Stir up a fire, little.
Get cold in here again. In that dough. No. The dough is closed, Arnold. Anything here with that? Right. I didn't touch that talk. Of course you did, Arnold. That was Eddie. Starting to stir up a fire for you. It's just such things, I thought. What were people like that, did it, Dad? You know, come back to it. All the other people? They'll pack some of the things and kind of a trick on me just like you took me in the killing area. I would never have thought about the recipe yesterday. And then, my away from night, sleeping out, I would be a Eddie was, Dad. And I had always money. I don't remember how to impact some wood time, the other member, how he said. Eddie, I think I did all of it because he was so sick all the time.
And then, time, he told me, they could have a way to kill me, so nobody's ever had that thing. And he kept talking about, and we'd wake up there with all the money I had in the bag. And Eddie, in the next room with that crystal cocktail figure, is calling to us to come and have a drink with a loser, motion. Some of the two of us would drink with him. He never knew what we were thinking of with an answer, I guess. I remember Jim Westbury and Gordon. Nice guy, Eddie. But he's so useless, I don't know. I remember Jim on the telephone. Oh, Eddie. Always have drunk a devil neck and a pig. I remember waking up in the middle of the night. I think I heard Jim's voice somewhere. We'd be doing Eddie a favor on him. And a day in this very room. There's been him walking across the room with a big, toothy grin of his and picking up his hand and saying, congratulate. Congratulations, rich man. Remember the sound of a poker falling on the heart and Eddie's house at midnight? With nobody's ever me and Jim Paxton. That was him. Starting to stir up the fire for you. I want to drink. Now wait on him. Cut it out, Jim. I said wait. We want to get these things settled before you start to get tight. I'm not going to get tight. I just want to drink. You'll get a drink.
I'm going to split this thing up. Now look. I'll give you a thousand dollars. Why are you big hot, little fellow? Not another dime. Can be the part. Yes. I don't want a thousand dollars. Will you give me a drink? No. Get it, look. I want a lot more than ten more lousy hundred dollars. You're not going to get it. Well. How much? How much of you guys? None of your business. Let's stop getting around. I got a pretty good idea. How much do you guys? You have not quite a piece of coin. What? The twenty thousand dollars I'll never see you again. Twenty thousand dollars. What do you think I am? Listen, I'm sure. With your help. I never touched you. Well, but you kill him. Well, you're just as killed as I am. Not that. Give me a drink.
That's no one. What about these twenty jays? You. You know what I could do, do you? What should I do, do I? Will you tell me? I killed Eddie. You did? You've never... You've never killed Eddie. I might kill you. I'm bigger than you. Yeah? Well, I could do for the show. Or you could hit me with a hold. Or maybe you got some. You could shoot me. I think I will. You know what? Yes, I do. Wait a minute, I'll... I should. Well? I'll tell you. I'll tell you. Go on. See? I'll tell you. I'll tell you. Go on. See? The trouble with Newy. You're so dumb. You're dumb enough to kill you. Yeah, that sure will be dumb, boy. Yeah, that's not cute.
I told you I got an hour. If I had to tell you when. I was smart enough to figure that out. So nobody could touch me. Well, that got to do with me killing it. Well, I don't worry. If I were smart enough to figure out a fool's way of knocking off your cousin. If I were smart enough to dope out a way to keep my nose clean. They hang you. Well, wouldn't I be smart enough to have an angle to keep you from bumping me? What do you mean? You know, one of the reasons I like you, I don't mean. You're so simple, I mean. Look, how'd you ever go to the movie? Or listen to the radio or read a book? How'd you talk or hear about it? Oh, okay. Look, I'm not going to talk to you. Okay. Look, there's a little note written to a certain guy that stills all the words about how he got knocked off. This little note, I don't? Within the hand of a certain other guy.
If I don't call him up or come see him for 24 hours, you're lame, you know. You see how simple? I don't believe it. Okay. Knock me off and see. You know, Jim, Jim, I was thinking. Well, why didn't I know about that? I was thinking, wouldn't it be funny? How he was, he. Funny? Oh, you know, he thought he was here. That he was here listening to us, too. Talk about how we murdered. Word, I don't know. How we murdered him. You know, I don't think he knew who did it. I never thought of that.
I don't think he did. He was standing there. And he had his back turned to both of us. Not going into the details. I don't know. I remember, well, I was just thinking, if he was here, planning out that we murdered him. And I was talking about getting rid of each other. Yeah. He got a great kick out of it. And he had a terrific sense of humor. Yeah. He also had a terrific sense of getting even with people, Jim. Yeah. I know. But if he was here, listen to all this. You know what he'd be thinking about. I guess I'm moving. Yeah. Well, so, he's not here. Sure? Look, that was the wind blew the door open. Yeah. And I knocked a poker over. I'll clear it. I kicked a place with a stand. Yeah, yeah. Okay. Okay, did you? I did. Then you don't think. You don't think that he is here? Yeah. Are you nuts?
I mean, there's a variety of ghosts. Father. Well. It's not the change of subject, boy, but what about my money? I gotta think about it. You're thinking all done by now, boy. I've made it on the line for you. It's open and shut. I'll give you a drink. Boy, yeah. Wait. Listen. What is that? I know what it sounds like. It is goddamn sugar. Yeah. Who else is gonna house? Nobody. Don't cheat, I'm not. Listen. Jim. Quiet. Listen, Jim. Listen, you still way out of use to shake up those batteries. Do you remember? Listen. Cheat, cheat, cheat, cheat, cheat. Remember? Ten. What was in the library? Making a drink.
Maybe you heard you asking for one. Got it all. Don't see what that noise is. I'm not making it from the library. Jim. Maybe it is Eddie. Oh, she. No. Listen. If you're pulling a gag on me, Jim, I'm not. I'm telling you. Where is that cocktail shaker? Is in the library? I put it in there just the other day. Why don't you go see what that noise is? No. Well, let's both go. Jim. I'm afraid. You know what we were talking about? But Eddie gives me... I mean, you're such a jerk. I probably ran for something. Give me that poker out. No. No, I got me. Hey, Eddie. Sing. Hey, Eddie. Bring us a drink. No, Jim. Cut it out. Cut it out. Come on, bring us a drink. Hey, Eddie. Come on, Eddie. Come on, Eddie. Come in, Eddie. Oh, what's it? Hey, Eddie. I don't care, Eddie.
Hey. Don't get him. Hey. I suddenly got the phone just right there. I don't walk switch. I'm not going to climb this. I've got someone to pump against me. I heard Jimmy yelling. Oh. Hey. I'm going to get out. Hey. I'm pumping a shaker down. Cleaking away the way I want to shake. The way I want to remember it. Get out of the kind of. What are you doing out of the dark? I'm getting pumped. Get out of somebody kind of out. I'm going to pump it out. Get my shaker down. The last thing I remember is another shaker. Oh. The flat pass got cold on the floor. And slowly. Slowly I drifted back. The lights were still out. And I could smell it. The more you smell it, the liquor. The back of the cocktails from a crystal shaker. Nobody in that house had a stack of reason for the day he died. I heard something. I heard the piano. And the music was that old favorite of that.
He's the one who used to play. The one Jimmy started to play. He was the first to say the Frank D. Mayan. And I called. Jim. Hey, Jim. But the music was right on. Jim didn't answer. And the doorbell started to ring. And the music stopped. And the lights went on. And the big fella, some kind of uniform stepped in the door. I don't seem to be anybody. Oh. There he is. Who are you? State police, Mr. Oh. I'm glad. Right. But what do you want? Who is that playing the piano when I rang the bell? I don't know. Get up off the floor. Where is he? What? Where's Jim? Jim? Is this Jim here, Mrs. Where?
Yeah. I look. Jim was beside the park. And he was here. And the side of the music. Shattered remains as a crystal cocktail shaker that after that is. You do this Mr. Park. Where did you come from? You do this. Who sent you here? Well, I'll tell you. Some guy called up and said there was murder being done here. And we'd better get here quick. So, no, don't try any monkey business with me, Mr. There's another officer right outside the door and he's got a Tommy guy. He's got a knife. Well, why? With fellow who told you, officer? That I'm going to find out. The gosh in hand, wouldn't it? That's it. I don't know who he was. He just said this is Eddie speaking. I said Eddie who? He laughed and said, just Eddie.
Oh. That's all I know. You have listened to Quiet Please, which is written and directed by Willis Cooper. The man who spoke to you was Ernest Chappell. And Les Chameen played Jim Paxton. Arthur Chor was a police officer. Music for tonight's Quiet Please was composed and played by Albert Rerman. And now for a word about next week's Quiet Please, here is my good friend, Bill Cooper. I'm a star for a next week. If I let some time happen to explore as a go place as they shouldn't go, I call it some people can't die. And so until next week of this time, I'm Quietly yours.
