Ravens Colts, who do you think win and why? So plenty of stuff to get to. Hope you guys are locked on the Lockdown Ravens because we're going to get set to talk

2:06some Ravens football. Now week one is here. Ravens Colts. You saw what the Colts were able to do last year. Started off hot, but kind of simmered down once Daniel Jones fell to an injury. The Ravens on the other hand again dealt with injuries of their own, kind of faulted a little bit. I think they're trying to pick up where they thought they left off and the season started on the Ravens lost that week one matchup. Their offense was firing on all cylinders. Let's start with the Ravens defense versus this Colts offense because Daniel Jones had a resurgence of sorts, very similar to Sam Darnel in 2025. In fact, I was saying that getting your Jones had a better start to the season than Sam Darnel, who eventually won the Super Bowl. But Jonathan Taylor, dynamic running back and this defense here that it was Jesse Menter, trying to find themselves here a little bit. I'll start with you, Q. What do you think the game plan is going to be for the Colts in this matchup? You got Jonathan Taylor, obviously it's probably going to be the focal point maybe for this team, but this defense can get things going with slowing down Jonathan Taylor. And there's a chance it can kind of get at the Daniel Jones a little bit and kind of

3:07set the tone for the season. Well, yeah, that's the thing. The tone to be sent. One of the ways I looked at Jesse Menter's preseason was how and the way they utilized their different personnel packages and how it actually confuses, especially those joint practices, both the commanders as well as the Minnesota Vikings. I thank for Jesse's team. It has to be one where we don't know the status of Menter B.K. I don't think he's going to play. It will be great if he did, but I'm not necessarily counting on it. But when you look at whether because it's Campbell and the amount of snaps or how they would use Davis Robinson and perhaps Zion Young by moving him down and bringing in a train Hendrickson or what it looks like as far as my green being in there, that upfront to me is going to set the tone for that game because Jonathan Taylor is going to be that

4:12workhorse. I know at the same time when you look at Daniel Jones as much as Jesse has his Achilles rupture, it is about finding a rhythm with his receiving core. And so the disruption of the timing of it all to get them in those third and longs to put this game in a situation where, yeah, you can pin back your ears and get to the quarterback. That to me is the biggest. Okay, Jesse, you're the head coach. You've been the decordinator at other places. You've been the D secondary coach here in Baltimore. Now let's see how it kind of comes together. We saw glimpses of it in the preseason. And now we're about to see what the real deal is. I think this is a really good test. Both teams coming off eight and nine season. Both teams looking to improve. Obviously we hear, you know, with the flock, we feel that this team is a, you know, team has strong, super bowl aspirations.

5:13And again, defensively, it starts up front. And I think if they can establish that, my god, man, you're talking about Kyle Hamilton, the way in which he could be the jack of all trades. You're talking about Jalen, you're talking about Malachi Starks, both guys with that triumphant of a safety unit. I think they can really do something special as far as confusing Daniel Jones and that passing attack. But again, you shut down Jonathan Taylor. It starts up front. Yeah, 1000%. And you know, looking at the cold class season, obviously to the huge point, I mean, they wore a top 10 rushing offense. And practically all that had to do with Jonathan Taylor, you know, passing wise, they ended up being not, I mean, they were top 10 and both passing and rushing last season. Now Daniel Jones had a great year before going down. There are obviously going to be questions about him coming back off of that Achilles injury. But, you know, they have guys that can stretch their defense in terms of Alec Pierce for sure.

6:15But, you know, we're out of kind of looking is that, you know, last year, the Colts were incredible in terms of conversion rates. They were eighth and third down conversion rate on offense. They were fifth in red zone conversion percentage as well. I mean, they were great even on fourth down. They converted on two thirds of their opportunities, 66.7% of their opportunities on fourth down. So they're a great conversion team. You know, it's easier because I've talked about this a ton on, you know, Lockdown Ravens and Lockdown Ravens said in a bunch of other places too. Ravens have a really big advantage in this game. And that for me is really, really cool, just in terms of the, you know, I guess the lack of film because there's nothing that you can, there's nothing that you can say about this Ravens team that you say, yeah, you know, we saw that from them. No, you have it. They haven't played a game yet. So I think that defensively, like you can go back to that Chargers and Colts game. And, you know, you can have assumptions of what this Ravens team is going to do defensively. But you know, you're not really know because you haven't seen it on tape. So I don't really know.

7:16I mean, Keo, is there any experience where you were playing a team where they had a new system for the first time in a week one and yours is kind of like, well, we can kind of make assumptions. We don't really know what's going on or is it not that big of a deal? No, no, it's a huge deal. I promise you, when you look at coaches and scouts and creatures of habit, they don't have a book on you, the player. They have a book on the coordinator and what the coordinator likes to do. So I know they're looking at old Saintsville. They're looking at obviously Lashhip and Johnson. And it wouldn't surprise me if they looked at a little bit of the Lions as well because they want to get a good idea what Declan looks like. Easy, they're going to look at the Chargers defense from last year as well because from a Chargers defense standpoint, yeah, Jesse Mentor is like, all right, here's how I like to do things. This is what I am a creature of habit. But the thing is, this is where you are self-scouting.

8:21Here's my tendencies. And then you got personnel packages. Well, last year I didn't have Malachi starts. I didn't have Trey Henderson. I now have Kyle Hamilton, Roquand Smith. Oh, well, look at what I can do with these different players. Davis Robinson is going to play a huge role. But I didn't have those guys before. So I got Anthony Weaver. They might even be looking at some Miami tape. And just getting a picture of, all right, guys, here's what the Ravens defense is going to be. Looking like here's some of the things that they can present. Here are the personnel guys when they're on the field. But that element of surprise is still there and can work to your advantage. Good point. And you kind of beat me to the punch here, but I'll ask it anyway. The Colts did play the Chargers in 2025.

9:22And the Colts beat the Chargers in 2025. In fact, they scored 38 points against that Jesse Mutele defense. And Jonathan Taylor had three touchdowns. He rushed for almost a hundred yards. And Daniel Jones had two touchdown passes of his own. I'm asking you this, but I kind of got to feel another answer. Are you concerned with the fact that the Colts had that must success against Jesse Mutele defense? Or the fact that one, he's had experience with this offense already, very recently in two, he has a little bit more in terms of firepower and the defense side of the ball. And as a spousal, you're a little less concerned with the outcome in that previous matchup. The King is dead, long lived the King. Like, okay, you got me. This is pro football. New things happen. New mindset, new day. Situational football, sure. Like I just finished articulating. They're going to have that situation of football. But when it comes down to it, when that clock starts up in the head of official rolls his hand and say, play ball,

10:23that kickoff happens. That kid, that young man, I should say, excuse me. That young man, as he's catching that kickoff, bull, gets tackled, whatever. And now the offense comes out to feel, and those guys are in the huddle. And they're like, okay, this is the first play. Whatever that play is, okay, great. It's ball, it's ball. It's like in between the lines. It's like go time. This is a freshness in the air. They're kicking off the season with the Seahawks and the Patriots. I'm telling you, they might be for sure looking at the Super Bowl and some other fill, maybe, preseason. But I'm telling you right now, it doesn't matter. Y'all beat us good for you if on the Patriots. We beat Joe if we to see who cares. That's what I'm looking at. If I'm Jesse Mentor, like, okay, he's got me, no problem.

11:24But who cares? I know now I got a new team. And yes, scheme, metrics, all those things, man, don't get me twisted and think, here, you're double talking. No, I am not. I am saying though is that wind up the clock. Let's play ball and let's see who's going to win one on one and have the mental toughness to do it for the four quarters. Yeah, I don't really put too much stock into it. I mean, it's a different team, you know? Like, it's two different situations to me. You know, like, yeah, the Colts did a great job of beating up on the chargers in that game last season, but last season is last season. You know, this season is this season. The chargers defense doesn't have the players. The Ravens defense does. The Ravens offense doesn't have the players the chargers offense has. You know, like it's that type of thing. And, you know, I think the Ravens are better equipped than the chargers. And I think that Jesse Minter, you know,

12:25while the Colts, I'm sure learned some stuff about the way Jesse Minter likes to operate. I'm sure Jesse Minter learned about how the Colts liked to operate over the course of that game. He learned from that too. So there's all that different stuff that goes into it. So I mean, I understand, but this is kind of what I'm going back to in terms of, and you know, what I asked you about in terms of like having no film. Like this is what you got to go back and look at, because there's nothing on the Raven. Like you got to go back and look at all games. And I guarantee you that there are some new wrinkles that I'm sure Jesse Minter has put into his defense and the deck and the oil is going to happen. His offense that we're not there in that what weeks, it was the week seven, right? That week seven game last year, between the Colts and the chargers. So those are really concerning all that much. I feel confident in this game for Baltimore. I mean, they're going to win it, but, you know, I'm not putting too much talking. Yeah, good to know. I'm with you. I think it's going to be a big game for the linebackers. We don't know. And we'll talk about it in the third second in the show, whether or not Teddy Buchanan plays, but Real Cross Method is going to have to have a big game and then all these edge guys, most notably, you know,

13:27the rookie, a guy by the name of, well, and his name is escaping me all of a sudden, but the second round picked that the Ravens picked up recently, great edge center, same with Davis Robinson, Dying Young, yep, yep. So those two, they're going to have to have a big game to kind of set the edge, keep, you know, Jonathan Taylor from making, you know, a big pop up plays, but if they do get to that second level, it's going to be up to Real Cross. Smith to be able to stop the run, keep them at Bay and force Daniel Jones to make things happen. He's done it before, but I think what this new past rush group would think is going to be more advantageous for the Ravens to have these guys in third and long, because I believe this is going to be the sign of a lot of great things to come for this defense. I can get after the quarterback and get after him often. I'm going to take a quick break. I'm back. We'll talk about the Ravens offense versus just Cole's defense, just Cole's defense. Isn't anything that sneeze that, but again, we talked about the star ready there is some unfamiliarity with this offense on a Declan Dull first time play caller in Lamar Jackson two time of repeat that could create some magic in week one, a lot to get to here next on a lockdown Raven squad show.

The Ravens offense has been the topic of conversation ever since Declan Doyle was hired as the offensive coordinator brand

16:35new play call and never call plays before the Ravens have been in that situation previously with Zach or on the defense side of things the last two years. But Declan Doyle comes from the Sean Payton tree as well as the Ben Johnson tree. So a lot of as Q mentioned a lot of different tapes to look at here. You can look at the lines for some fun. You can look at the bearish with some felt you can maybe look at the Broncos a little bit for some public Sean Payton. We don't know what type of offense is going to look like. We assume is going to be more geared towards the bearish out of things the way that Ben Johnson ran things. What are your expectations Q for this offense first time getting after it didn't play at all the starters during the preseason except for stay for Javon Gwynne who's been penciled in as a starting center and then go on and played a little bit of the first and second game in the preseason. So I'm going to get your thoughts about what you expect from this unit in the game one. Man, I've been to so many of those training camps practices and my impression of Declan has grown with each practice.

17:38I love how they utilize the art of personnel packages. I love how they went in their different phases of motioning and causing the defense to kind of have a pause to it, which gains leverage for their offense. Not that the motion and different personal packages didn't exist in the era before, but I think for top monkey in them what they did was just okay, where the consistency and the usage of the different personnel packages like a lot of the looks look the same. And you was like, okay, I've seen with the, oh, that's a new wrinkle. I see how you did that. Well, that looks up. Okay, well, I can see that route combination developing. Oh, wow, the biggest, oh, wow, for me in this training camp

18:38look was the way they utilize the back out of the backfield. I think in previous times top monkey as well as Greg Roman, you didn't necessarily have the back out of the backfield as your outlet. You didn't necessarily have to worry about that because Lamar Jackson was your benefit. In other words, like if you're trying to bring pressure and Lamar sniffs it out, Lamar is going to do Lamar type things. Now the study, you're like, we just gave up a 30 yard run. We didn't expect that. And the bar's legend grew all of a sudden. You're talking about two technically three league and VPs. Now people are like, oh, okay. So we better confuse them up for the offensive line and keep everybody back and not bring a lot of people up to field. But with declines offense, what I saw was a lot of opportunities

19:42for the backs to get the ball out of the backfield. And so that gets the ball out of Lamar's hands, keep some fresh, puts pressure on the defense in a quote unquote traditional way. But man, that means that that's a dangerous Lamar Jackson when he wants to go ahead and run with it, whether it be designed or whether it because of pressure. So I think the wrinkles that we're seeing with declines offense like let's get it on. Let's do it. Like what are we waiting for? Yes, we got to wait for Sunday. Yes, I know I have to be patient. No, I'm not very patient right now. And yes, I have to sit back and wait. I'm waiting, but I'm sorry. I know. I feel so antsy about every day. And like looking at the Ravens in terms of what their conversion rates were on offense last season. Again, it's it's a different system. But just for reference, they were 13th and the league on third down conversion percentage and 27th in the league and red zone conversion

20:44percentage. They were not good in the red zone last year. It was a really, really sore point for Baltimore. So what I want to see early from this offense is them be able to go out there and punch the ball in for six. Don't send Tyler out there. The five yard line for a 21 or whatever it is, your feel goal, put points on the board, put seven points on the board. Do not put three points on the board because again, I think that there are not a lot of teams that can keep up with the Baltimore Ravens. And if we see the Ravens do what we said they should hopefully do and early what they need to do, which is stopped Jonathan Taylor on the defense of side of the ball and the offense puts out points. There's no way in my opinion the calls can come back from that. So those are like, it's keys to the game, but it's keys that go hand in hand on both the offense of side of the ball and the defense of side of the ball. So I think to me, you know, you look at this offense and I think one of the things I'm really excited about it's, well, it's a couple of things. For me personally, the play action game, we're looking forward to seeing that

21:48more, especially with some of the roll outs we saw Joe Fignano and, you know, Tyler, how they do over the course of the preseason. I love that. I also really want to see the ball just be spread around a little bit more, you know, like I think that was a big, you know, I won't say the stat. No, I'm going to say the stat seven, seven bears last year, and decking the blows off and set 30 or more receptions. I say it almost, I say it almost every day. I say it again because it's true and it matters because last year, Zay flowers had an awesome year, but that was really about it in terms of the past catchers. It was the Zay flowers and friends show markets and touchdowns on the year, but it was a pretty down year by his standards overall. So, you know, we're shot bait, man. I mean, those routes you ran against those commanders corners in that joy. It just feels like the Ravens receive his love embarrassing those commanders corners, whenever those two get together, I mean, it was Zay on a main, it will forbes a couple of years ago. And now we're shot bait and doing it to these guys. I mean, it is unbelievable what these guys can do from a running perspective.

22:49But it's not only that, like now you have the other skill set to compliment it. Jacobi Lane, I mean, obviously he's the talk of town, but his skill set and the red zone potentially being used that way, you know, test Walker back of practice on Wednesday. So him being out there and maybe making a difference. It's all going to be really cool to me. But, you know, I think overall, you know, the big battle. The really I'm watching right now is in the trenches, which of ongoing, like he is that guy. I love looking at for sure because the Colts Grover Stewart, some of my favorite defensive linemen in the entire league. I wanted him on the Ravens for years and years and years and years. And unfortunately has not happened yet, but we're making the Kaleas Campbell Colts special here for Grover Stewart, where hopefully he will be on his team in a couple seasons. But him, the forest Buckner, those are really good interior defensive linemen. And so it'll be an early test for Vanguille wanting, obviously, to Bungwen, we're making his first start. And then John Simpson, who was a veteran and has been there and done that, even in a Ravens uniform, but, you know, like that interior,

23:50those are three new guys. I mean, if you want to say John Simpson's been here and say, like, I guess really two new guys and one, like he's back guy, you can do that too. But that to me is also where I'm looking. Very good point. And I'm interested in how this defense will come to play because overall, the Colts had a pretty good defense last year, especially since stopping the run. And you mentioned how Javanguille has some pretty hefty interior defensive linemen to go after. But I think he's been pretty decent when it comes to run blocking. I think it's his past pro that has been unproven, at least in my opinion, from what I've seen so far. So I wonder, especially considering that this Colts team was susceptible a little bit to the past last year, of course. Now they have sauce gardener on this football team. You hope that he's healthy if you're a Colts fan. Maybe he locks up the flowers. But again, as you mentioned, seven players in Chicago last year, got 30 more receptions. Mar Jackson will need to spread it around so that, you know, the main guy that's being blocked off doesn't impede the other players from getting after a queue.

24:50Do you expect this Ravens team to kind of lean on the fact that the Colts weren't very good on the passing place last year? Or do you expect them to kind of attack the way they want to attack? Set the tone for what the office is going to be this year, whether it be within the football, whether it be passing or maybe being a little more versatile. Do you expect them to take advantage early or do you expect them to kind of use their carry and pick up what they left off? I think it's about picking up where they left off, but better. I think that for the Wayne Ledford, Derek Henry, the Wayne, which the office of line, which Kale just talked about, needs to kind of get that warm up. There's nothing, nothing like warming up by running it down your opponents through. I think we're going to see Derek Henry. I think it's going to be interesting when it comes to sustaining drives that first third and five or that first third and eight, what does it look like? It might very well be I'm going to go to my go to guy and mark Andrews.

25:50It could very well be a justice heel out of the backfield because of the way in which they run their different actions of the offensive and personnel packages and the way in which they motion guys. They're going to be looking for an advantage, but there's nothing like an advantage when you're running the ball. Now, we're setting, you got base personnel in the game for the defense, James Lackin's defense. Luanu Amaruno, like my god, man, I've seen him goodness, great job. Technically, in full disclosure, he was on my Syracuse staff when I was in college. So he was one of our GAs and, you know, I think the world of him, but I also recognize he had the French events on Sunday just for that little bit of time. I think for Lou, he has experienced what Lamar Jackson, clearly Lamar Soudini against his defenses.

26:52And I know he's sitting there like, dang it. We had this team, and they do a, a, a, a, wreck league, reverse, the catch, hand off to Derek Henry. And he just smokes it down the football field, almost scored and Justin Tucker kicks it through the uprights to beat us. Well, we're not going to allow that to happen. So I can see Lou because he's listening to our podcast now and saying, huh, K-O and Q, Sam is asking these questions because they know. And because they know, I'm going to be taking notes. We're going to stuff the box against. Oh, Derek Henry. And I think that's where the play action comes in. That's where K-O when you talk about all those different receivers getting

27:53passes, it is going to be a scenario where there are going to be options to get the ball down the football field. It won't surprise me if Zay flowers gets hot. It won't surprise me. The X receiver is going to be balling out. Bateman, it won't surprise me that you see Jacobi Lane making a, a spectacular play because of Lou looking at Lamar and saying, anybody else could beat us, but him. We got to get to him. In my mind, that's what I am seeing. And that's where I think can be the change of pace because of the defensive coordinated being familiar with this Ravens personnel, not necessarily skiing, but personnel. Yeah, it's definitely a good point to factor in. For me, for the Ravens, you cannot be timid in this situation that like you need to establish your dominance early, even with this all, like

28:54for better words, you got to see it works. Yeah, you have to figure it out. And I think just go right into the fire with it, you know, run a ball to Vengea, one aside, right, right up that, right, right, you know, maybe around get out in space, you need to be able to be aggressive early. You set the tone if you're the Ravens offensively against this cold defense. I think that would go a long way, personally. And you know, Lou and Rumeau had some really good comments. Yeah, like the comments that Lou and Rumeau had on Lamar were great. I'm actually going to talk about those a little bit more tomorrow on just the regular additional off-done Ravens because I think that, you know, there's clearly the respect factor there. And like QE mentioned, like there is the familiarity with, you know, the Cincinnati aspect and everything along those lines. And, you know, I just, I think to me, I'm expecting big improvements from this offensive line this year. But I also understand that there are going to be moments of growth that they need to go through this season. And it's better for them to do that early as opposed to like, you know, you're in the middle of them.

29:55They have seen North Racing week 14 all the sudden. You got it. You're still figuring out and new stuff. But you got this trial by fire essentially is what this is where, you know, this is a great test early on. I think that, like I've said before, you can still win this game while also going through growing pains. You can still show signs of dominance while going through growing pains. Growing pains enough to look like, man, the Ravens lost 35 to 3. You know, that's not what growing pains look like. You know, you can win a game 17 to 13 and be completely content with the win because you're like, hey, we won our best, but we still went out there. We won this game and figured stuff out. And I feel like that's the word to see from this Ravens team over the first, maybe month of the season is them, them still being able to dominate. And that outcome, being a very big possibility. But for the offensive line, I would just, I'd go, I'd jump right. I'd go off the like jumping to the end. Okay. We're doing this. Okay. Let me ask you this. You said as far as growing pains and we're talking about the offensive line. Obviously, you got an experienced, a deep as a coordinator that this

30:57old line's going to be going up against. Who do you think will have the most growing pains of the three guys that you mentioned with, when, obviously, you want a and Simpson Simpson been there done that as a bet. But still, this is kind of new. Of those three, who do you think has the the growing pains to kind of say, oh boy, first quarter is over. We're hopefully they make some adjustments. I would probably say, Devon Gwen, that's probably my answer. You know, he, this will be his first start. And the center snap or the center quarterback exchange is that going to be the red flag? Or you talk about just calls and protection. What did you see any of that from Gwen when you were out there? Not at all. Not at all. Not not not not one, not one time in a joint practice. Not one time when they did their scrimmaging. Every time he was out there, like I didn't see any quarterback center exchange issues, whether he was under center or whether or not if, you know,

32:02Lamar was in the gun. It was like, all right, bet. Okay. So then based off that, I'll say no. I mean, I guess different in games, but I'll just go based off what you said there and say probably not. I just think it's, it's more about, you know, maybe it's ID and protections, getting guys, again, you got to be a big communicator in the middle of that offensive line. And so there's a lot of responsibility. And again, like the Ravensfield confident and Schwungwen's ability to handle that. Obviously, the Wayne Leifberg has been with Schwungwen. So he kind of understands where he's at with that and that experience there. But I just think again, it's going to be, you know, all off season, when Tyler Linderbaum left, we were kind of talking about like the next Ravens center is going to be this like Ethan Post six six six like big type of guy. And Schwungwen is also kind of an undersized guide, the position, you know, he's same height as Tyler about six to he's about five or six pounds heavier than Tyler. I think he's three 10 and Tyler's like, real four or something. So it's that same type. I'm not saying that he can't be good because that obviously Tyler's a break center. But it's like, it's that same kind of thing where a lot of people were like, who we hate the undersized center like and look at it's like Thanos, where did it bring you back to

33:06me? It's another one. It's another undersized center. So again, I don't really take into account that stuff because I think if guys can play guys can play and I think Schwungwen can play. But, you know, you got to be able to because some of those bigger, more dominant defensive lineman did give Tyler Tyler some struggles over the course of his career. You know, I'm pointing Williams is one of those guys, DJ readers, one of those guys. And so the force blockner is actually how tall it and how big is he before we're going to do we have to do in my first book. The force blockner. He is four. Okay, he's six four, not as big as I thought. And Grover Stewart, well, he's six four, what six four two ninety five. And then Grover Stewart is also six four three fourteen. So those two guys. So the story's going to be the big boy that's going to be a movie. Yeah. Again, I'm not saying one can't handle his own here. I'm just saying that out of the three guys, I'm the most concerned about when because of the lack of experience. And I think you'll want to it's just a much higher more player at this point based off of kind of what we saw from him overall.

34:11One had a great preseason against the Eagles. You had that joint practice against the Vikings, but I guess it's just kind of the uncertainty with the with the center. One of the things real quickly that I just realized when you talk about size. So for divine like literally his speed to get from side to side because if they're going to stretch a defense, you got to have that speed. What I was impressed by that consistently doing leftward typical online coach, I mean, he was the only one really out of all the coaches, you know, had that like, you know, rough drop a couple of explicatives to motivate his boys. All the other coaches, I really, you know, listen, I know, I know, even a divine coach was very like mild compared to other divine coaches that I've seen. Like he was very teach oriented. Not that the way it wasn't. I love their individual periods and

35:15they were awesome, but speed of like they would finish the block and then it would have to sprint about four or five yards. Now you said, I was only four or five yards to you. I you go ahead, eat a couple of bomb bonds, get up to 314 pounds and then sprint a couple of three or four or five yards in a practice of two hours and see how you feel afterwards. Oh yeah. So the point I'm making is that little bit extra was something I had seen before in this Raven's time frame of watching and observing. So I think they might be utilizing to their advantages, ability for their office align to move, which would help them overcome some of the issues that they could potentially run into with the guy like a buckner. Bond bonds. I just support that for her from an in a while, man, you're right. It's going to be difficult to be that big and run that far. It's

36:15hard for me to run that far and I'm not even 200. So very good points. I love it. I think it's going to be very interesting. And if I were to answer your question, you I think it's going to be Vingo Wani. I think he's going to be the one that has the most to kind of prove here and make struggle a little bit because he's too rookie. And I think that even though Lou doesn't really blitz as much as he does, if this team is in those third and long situations, I don't think the cults have a great past rush. It may be middleing, but even though they don't like the blitz, it may have to, especially if they're Ravens, I continuously pouring it on in the passing game. So something to consider in this upcoming matchup. I'm going to take a break. 38:19you believe it after all of this is that have gone on the Max Crosby training that wasn't you know that the firing of John Hobbawl many camps training camp preseason and we're finally literally days away. We can't even say weeks anymore until the first game in the regular season that things kick off but it's hopefully a long playoff run. Well the Baltimore Ravens but before we get to that we've got to talk about the first injury report of 2026 the Ravens released at today. Some notable players are on the limited list as far as being their status. So not in the matter of being kicked dealing with that neck injury he was limited. Zay flowers also limited with the hamstring injury. Teddy B canning also dealing with that knee injury coming back from the ACL tear he was limited and test Walker who has been a little gimp. I don't even I'm not sure if he even practice when the media was I think he practiced a little bit. He was on a field. He was limited as well. So four limited players four players who you assume are going to have pretty decent roles in his offense in 2026. Definitely Zay flowers is not there. Not in my big game you hope but I think the story is

39:22on now nobody by the BK who began team drills this week last week actually and it's kind of garing up for a potential return after his absence from the 2025 season at least the majority of it because of that neck injury. Keele you can talk you kind of talked about this at the beginning of the show but what would you make of this? Would you kind of rule out not to be a K-phone week one based on him being limited? I think you want to see a little bit more out of him fully participate in practice for pushing him into game reaction. So here is my reservation behind it like you had surgery on your cervical spine. We don't know anything the way they've been holding it close to the vest. I've seen him ramp it up. The ramp up process has been good solid but like we're seeing tonight there is an NFL game going on and the collisions of that

40:26interior look OID line. I mean it ain't practice it ain't preseason it is it's just different and I would hedge and wait one more week that's how I conservatively and yet still a kind of aggressive because I'm like hang he's out there but I will conservatively look at it for pronouncing. So yeah you can play a coach in the vest and you know look at it as well the coach don't know and we'll wait to see who's active or inactive but I think yeah in my mind noise and I have C3C4 neck fusion and I'm a Y receiver played many many moons ago but

41:27my god man like it's a whole different animal when you talk in you know that that constant you know hitting even if it's a graze off the side or whatever of two large human beings climbing. So I would say be conservative and wait another week clearly he's on the 53 man roster so they feel like within that four weeks span there's something there let him wrap up a little bit more is my my humble opinion. Yeah I'm the same way I mean I think that you know you don't want to rush things and clearly like with each update it makes me feel more and more confident that you could have a guy like Dom DeBack in there but I think look lead to home opener makes a lot of sense like I I agree I think that's the one because I was originally like okay week four after the Ravens get back from Brazil that would be really good but you know we keep getting these updates and it's like all right well I mean week one is not looking so crazy anymore so I still would also err on the

42:34side of caution here from Baltimore I think yes you do have the depth to because that's what we talk about all off scene it's like you have the depth of numb doesn't come back to still have a good defensive line unit I think one more week would probably just you know if anything just ease everybody's minds um yeah I'm listening to the better for yeah at least me right like I'm in and again like if Namibia is fully ready and healthy to go and all that stuff and if the Ravens feel comfortable and confident and all that then cool like you can do it but at the same time I think if I were making the decision I'd probably go one more week I think you can win this game without Namibia and then you can head into week two film even more confident and kind of seeing how it goes yeah I agree with you I think that he just said this one now I I want to see him fully but that's at least to get to two days in a row before I even think about having them go so if he practices on Thursday fully and maybe I change my mind but things are going into the direction that he likely won't play I think seeing the Teddy Buchanan what are your thoughts on test Walker and Z

43:35Flowers Q Z Flowers look like he's pretty much ready to go maybe limit it just to be cautious but I would expect him to be ready to go based on the way we've seen him in the limit eclipse from from the media and also Heron and seeing him in the locker room at the practice yeah so I think anytime you have a quad issue the way he had I saw it in practice and obviously you know so Z is it's a so the car analogy he is a like a Ferrari meeting a what are one of those cars where you're at the line it just sprints off the line of scrimmage line scrimmage fly the scrimmage off the start line and really big drag race thank you you know he's a Ferrari

44:36that has drag race capabilities well in drag racing you'll always see where's how many look oh okay here we go well we got to wait because someone's wrong I got a tinker with it and why he's been durable so I'm not saying that but what I am saying is he's so explosive so dynamic and so cut worthy and has the Ferrari top-end speed with the quad it's like you're pampering him so I can see the fact that they're waiting and being cautious about it and I fully expect him to be out there looking at him to do they like things and be okay but I think that yes being conservative sends the quad conclusion is smart I think at the same time Taz whatever he's dealing with I am hoping that it won't happen for him because I'm expecting big things from him this season and yeah

45:36like he matters when it comes to even special teams and what he can potentially do there too so both guys I'm looking forward to seeing them out there but yeah the Ferrari drag race if you can get that in your mind that's why I think that they're kind of like all right we we don't want to overly do it let's just tinker with you know the engine if you will make it revved up just enough make sure those tires are good you know so when he gets to Lucas Oil Stadium he's rip ready ready and roll in and just being an explosive player that we know him to be well cute I noticed that Zay was actually listening to the the injury report with the hamstring does that does that change anything in terms of you know because you would talk about the quad and the leg stuff you know dealing with the quad then there's the hamstring thing is there anything that kind of you would say in terms of management with that or staying cautious with that because I know like hamstring injuries can be tough to kind of manage throughout a season if it's not

46:40fully there so this is where the tinkering you get that quad especially for a guy like him what is he rely upon he rely upon that that sudden deceleration now the quad is not as and fully interned on if you will the nervous system doesn't really want to fire that super fast to its muscle fiber you get a hamstring that's how it works it's called the kinetic chain when you look at that kinetic chain in one element of it is not full go something else has to take over that load now you look at Zay and he's slamming his foot into the ground get now a cut that normally the quad and hamstring would both work together it's not and so that's where they can easily list it well he's still got the quad but the hamstring will just say hamstring because and there's truth to that sure but I think that's where the synergy of the leg comes in and yes like gotta be incredibly

51:02Kevin I'm going to start with you who wins this game again lots of time between now and and and guess week one on Sunday so I give you chances on your show give you that that disclaimer hey you you get to change your mind if you get closer to Friday but I want to get your initial thoughts about who you think will win this matchup in the Colts and the Ravens yeah I mean I think it will be the Ravens for you know a lot of different reasons I mean I think that Baltimore has the better roster I think there's not film on the Ravens like we talked about and you know I think that when you look I mean I just have so much confidence in the roster is a whole personally you know just seeing what they have star power wise depth wise backup wise even guys they can call up on the practice squad to play on game day like it all just feels really good to me and the Colts are a team that I just have you know certain questions about I mean last year they weren't really great in terms of past defense they tried to bring in sauce gardener that didn't really work out for them I mean maybe he's better this year but you know they tried to play Michael Pitman Jr

52:04and you know you have Keenan Allen now but I don't know like if Jonathan Taylor can get stopped the way to I think that the Ravens can stop him I mean it's really made it be no contest but obviously it's easier said than done so I don't know I feel like Baltimore isn't a really good spot right now it's a game where you're definitely going to get challenged the Colts are a good team don't get me wrong on that but you know at the same time I I do think I would give the advantage to Baltimore here you know I think along those lines what has been going on entry wise for what the Colts have had coming into this year but they do have some really good run after catch type players and obviously Josh Downs being one of them I just think the Ravens defense what we saw in a preseason will carry over into the regular season I think Ropon Smith is going to have a phenomenal

53:07game I think they will contain Jonathan Taylor I think offensively is going to be fun to watch this offense just be so explosive and in my mind I'm looking at something like then putting up 33 and you know defensively I think they're going to shut them down and they're finally give up 13 so I have to give a score prediction it'll be 33 13 yet at the same time do we have full-on confidence and I'm talking about the head coach not us on the outside but the head coach in Tyler Luke that to me he didn't give him the full boat of confidence that to me is going to say a lot as far as how they approach situations in the game as far as

54:09kicking the football if 50 is a new 30 and yeah I am saying 33 points but there's going to have to be some strong consistency in that kicking game or else we might have a week to week controversial oh is it going to be Jake or is it going to be Tyler kind of back and forth that that is the only like oh when it kind of comes to what we're seeing going into this year yeah good point I think the best case scenario for the Ravens would be to try them out there early you know if need be again you want to score plenty of points but get them in their early test amount see what you can do and therefore I think that might dictate the game plan for the rest of the game you hope Luke comes in and performs well I have faith in him but again there's a reason why they're out jake moody in there is because he wasn't making those kicks in the free season hopefully bringing in that competition hubs it seems to think so based on what we've heard from him
