Welcome into the Impedipity Digital post game show presented by RealTree. I kind of looked at the direction so I'm going to switch me and Jeffrey right with me for this one Ole Miss 32. LSU 24. Pretty perfect. You're going to see double of me and then we're going to get switched real quick. Here we go. Here we are with you 32.24 Ole Miss over LSU dominant first half. I like how the rush doctor there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's all over the place. Is it blurry? Yeah. Pretty excellent first half for Ole Miss. Trinidad Chamblis was amazing in the first half. LSU does punch back. They make a run and then a game winning drive for Chamblis and the Rebels. Pete Golding play in the analytics to go up eight there after the two point conversion and then getting a big stop inside the tenured line and from there I think
somebody on the broadcast Jeffrey called this an exorcism or something like that for Ole Miss and I think it was in the first half when they were blowing them out but you saw exactly what opinions were, things that were unsaid going into the week, so many different things. You've got Pete Golding with the golden line that Keith Carter and Glenn Boyce can have a beer tonight. Trinidad Chamblis who usually is as PC as possible and very careful about all of his words throwing out a nice little f-bomb there with the hotty, toddy late. So a ton of things to get to and I'll keep you up in a second. First I will tell everybody, realtoryrilltory.com, a place to go for your lifestyle, hunting and outdoor gear also for your some recipes. It is going to get a little cooler. I mean, I got a hoodie on right now and realtory has tons of options there at realtory.com. Just span around, see what you see there at realtory. I saw Tyler earlier today in the Grove. They help Ole Miss a ton and they will help you as well again, realtory.com and then you'll
see Leet in the stream, couple merch options courtesy of our partnership with Screenco, couple t-shirts after the win tonight. So if you'd like to take advantage of that, I think they're pretty cool. Had people that worked for us help design those there with Screenco so you can purchase there. So I'm going to drop only available 72 hours on that. I will link it in the podcast feed as well. But here with you on, it was a pretty incredible night at Vodomingo Stadium, incredibly fun night for Ole Miss and Jeffrey. This is a football team that hasn't lost at home games and other than since Kentucky in 24, they haven't lost but that one since the start of the 23 season and one that a lot of people remember tonight for really a lot of reasons. Now I'll let you pick one and then we'll kind of go through them one by one but this is a hell of a win just simply for your resume, for your season, for making the college football playoff. You get the lane kippin thing and then through three weeks of the season I don't know if there's even an argument that there are two players who are separating themselves if
you can do that through weeks for a Heisman trophy and that's Trinidad, Chamble, Isson, Dary and Mensa. Yeah, to me like you can pick one we can go through it. I understand when Hershey's going, Chamble is the best. To me there's only one guy that I'm even considering in the same category, it's Mensa and obviously Trinidad has the leg up because he has, he's played two games that were clearly quality games. I mean, I am waiting for Mensa to play somebody so I think the thing that struck me tonight is who was worth $12 million? Lane Kippin or Trinidad Chamble? Six. Six. Six. Six. You don't, I keep waiting for someone and I understand the way college athletics are, it's risk averse and you're always going to have people, well this is the way it is done and I think agents have a ton of power. But I keep waiting for somebody to go, hey, the players matter way more than the coach
and I understand maybe you can make the argument, hey if we have Lane Kippin it's a lot easier to get the quarterback. Well, his quarterback was better in the second half but that game frankly came down to, both guys got the ball. Did you really trust that Sam Levit was going to punch it in? Like maybe, maybe you're an Ole Miss fan and you felt it in your gut like, hey we're just going to get our heart broken. But I'm talking about, did you really trust Sam Levit to punch it in? He misses a wide open guy on third and goal and just with a horrible throw. And then his last throw, I mean, credit, credit to the Rebels, they, they got a hand up. I just never really felt like at the end of the day like, man this guy's going to get the ball and he's just going to march it down and go score. And even when Trinidad was starting to look a little shake here, even when he didn't
have Lacey and it was all on him and some throws were a little bit off and maybe the guys weren't making the same catches that they made in the first half. Man, when he got the ball back on that drive and the fourth quarter was like, he's going to go score and I just kind of felt it in my bones that he was going to go score and that's the difference to me. I mean, Neil wrote it after the Louisville game that at the end of the day Trinidad Chambois is just a winner. They win their 4138 over Louisville and he's magic. You know, it's just, it's a remarkable story that keeps adding on because that was a first half that was a clinic beyond clinics. 248 yards, two scores. They don't score on the opening possession. They get a field goal and then touchdown, touchdown, touchdown, including the one right before the half that in a game flow state, you're trying to avoid Lane Kippen potentially doubling you up and doing the whole score and then get the defer after the half, get
the ball to score again. That was just a tremendous drive by Trinidad Chambois. I was joking on Twitter that I definitely would have kicked the field goal on third down. He throws the seed to array there to score the touchdown on that play. I mean, they kept showing the all 22 and they kept showing the situations as far as what his windows were. There weren't windows half the time. He was throwing the ball through lanes that were NFL type lanes tonight, did a remarkable job at doing it. The only really negative is that even on some of the shorter throws that were open, he was still throwing the ball 100 miles an hour. And outside of that, I mean, he was really fitting windows as well as I could see. On the question of motivation, on the question of what this meant to these guys, there was no doubt. We've talked about it and this is not a conversation for tonight, but everybody's laughing about getting them back up for Florida next week. But that was a lot of emotional capital on the field against someone that Lane can say
whatever he wants. He can act like in the press conference, everybody's chummy and everybody's talkative and all that stuff. But there was some hate on the field tonight players, players and coaches. No, and I think I want to make sure we give credit where it's due because I do actually agree with, I didn't hear all of what Pete said at the end, but I do think there's something he said for complete team win because first couple of series, Trinidad hadn't quite settled in. Maybe he was a little bit uncomfortable with trying to figure out, hey, how are they going to defend me? Because it did feel like, after like that second, that second driver, I think they got a feel goal right. After that, it felt like he knew exactly what they were trying to do against him and he knew exactly where he wanted to go with the ball and it was lights out. I also think the subplot to me, the biggest other story was I know everyone spent the last two weeks freaking out. Chase, they kicked their ass up front.
I mean both sides of the ball and again, is LSU going to be the best defense they see all year? Probably not, but they're not going to see a whole, like I don't know if the level of difference is going to be that exponentially higher. And I really thought, I thought I saw more out of the Ole Miss offensive line tonight than I saw probably the other two games combined. And now is that a motivation thing is that, hey, maybe this LSU team wasn't quite as good as we thought because that Cleanson loss continues to look worse and worse throughout the day. And then I think the other thing you got to give credits, if we're going complete win, I thought Ole Miss tackled much better tonight. No busts. I didn't see really many, many busts in the secondary for the chunk plays. And then finally, I mean, it took balls. And I guess I would be curious to know if LSU didn't jump off the ice on the first two
point, are they going for it? Because, and credit to Ole Miss, like they showed the discipline, they didn't jump. And then they got LSU to jump again to the point in which, all right, now it's a two point play from inside the one. If you can't get that one yard, well, that's on you, but the decision to go for it and get it, that felt like that loomed so heavily over that whole drive because it wasn't just LSU going, all right, we need to score. It was like going from, we need to score. And if we want to go for two for the win, we can have it. But it's now, we got to score and then we got to have our two point play ready to go just so we can get to overtime. Yeah, let's hit that real quick. There's so much to get to, but on that two point play, you're starting to see that more. The NFL has done a little bit of it. And the analytical situation with it is that, especially if you trust your offense, when you go up six, and then you get it, obviously, you're putting in a hell of a difficult
situation. And your kicker. Yes, and your kicker. You go up six, so you're complicating things for them. That's why you sit in the NFL more than college because NFL trust the kicker's college. You don't even trust your kickers in the same way that if you get it, you put them in a hell of a situation. If you don't get it, yes, they go up one, but a field goal still wins it. And in your thought is, if you're just playing for the tie, you could also still lose in overtime as well. So you have to factor that in as you're still 50, 50 going to overtime. So that is the entire situation of what the analytical structure of this thing, this thing looks like. I thought it was a brilliant call. It didn't even cross my mind until the first off sides, and they kept them out there in the entire thing. I was just thinking seven. And in my mind, and this is one of the reasons why you do it, is you have six, put the ball in his hands, dictate this thing. Because in my mind, I was already doing math, it's laying going to go for two if he scores. And that's where I was going. So I'm doing the defensive side of where that would look at that point. Yeah.
I mean, when they scored, I was like, all right, they're about to be up seven, and they're going to have to get a stop. And I was also the thing, I was like, all right, LSUs, I think at that point, they were down to one time out. It's like, all right, man, if you can get any kind of stop, you're probably only going to need to first down to win the game. But then you could tell from the camera angle, Trinidad was clearly saying something to the head official. And I was like, the play cocks at like 20, I was like, they're, they're going for it. I remember like thinking like, really? Because like, I understood the concept, but I was also like, and there's, there's a lot of time. And even if LSU scores, like to me, it's like, I didn't know what the risk reward was there. Because yes, when we can use the whole analytics argument, it was still going to be the same scenario. You were still going to need Trinidad to go down and get points.
I just, I got to the thing. I would love to know if, if LSU doesn't jump first, do they actually go for it? Because I'm not convinced at that point the risk was worth it. Now, when LSU didn't show good discipline and Ole Miss did, and all of a sudden you have a two point play for inside the one, well, yeah, hell yeah, go for it. Like it's, when you got to get a yard, like that's one thing, but try to run that play from the three is a whole hell of a lot different to me than try to run that play from the one. I'm going to go to kind of the day in general for a minute and we'll come back into some of the specifics of this game. Like I said, there's tons to get to. I'm watching Lane Kiffin out of the corner of my eye, his press conference. It's on ESPN2. I think it's over now, but anybody who can back up, you'll be able to catch it on your, your rewind button on your streaming device of choice. He's made a couple jokes. I had one joke in there that maybe he just had to leave to get turned into had to play like that, which was kind of an asshole statement. But outside of that, he's been fairly, at least in the media, fairly humbled in this thing
as it's going on, which he does that sometimes when he loses, and then it'll come right back later. But look, this is a day where, and I want to back up because I think this is important. Because I wrote about this and around the Horn on Friday. The Louisiana governor, Jeff Landry contributed to this media that covered LSU contributed to this started using words like bulletproof vest and war zones and all kind of crap to discuss the atmosphere and the situation in Oxford for the weekend. And you know what it was, Jeffrey, because I was out in it. I went to the group for about three and a half hours today. It was a football game. It was a football game with a lot of people. That's what it was. It looked like every other big freaking football game the entire time. Frankly, the square was less busy last night than most weekends because everybody was building up for today. I like it was irresponsible and it was horseshit is what it was all week. So I do, I know Neil got worked up on Thursday, but I think he got worked up because he
didn't want Carson to come in town and have something happen and all that. I never really was all that concerned about this becoming some type of war zone. They were literally talking about it like it was more dangerous to go to Oxford, Mississippi than Tehran. And that to me was absolutely insane. And furthermore, the only thing that like I had in my head was like if there were some agitators that were going to come down. But I can't if I said it on your show, I know I said it on my show. It felt to me like in 2020 and 2021 when the media would show up at these protests and it almost felt like they were rooting for something bad to happen. And like because they wanted to cover some type of like, you know, if it bleeds, it leads. And I just never really thought that that was going to occur. Like when you talk about the worst scenes, it's usually because something during the game
happened. Like even in Knoxville, it wasn't like it was horrific until a the game started way too late to this even drinking all day. And then they felt like they were getting hosed on calls. And then all of a sudden they reacted a certain way. But it wasn't like, oh my God, look at look at this war zone beforehand. And and to me, I thought anyone that like participated in this shame on you, like, go to fucking hell all of you, like all of you. Yeah, what I saw today was you would see it every freaking pregame tailgate ever in Oxford. I saw LSU people who were behaving walked through the grove and guess what? They got food and drinks from all the freaking tenses they walked by just as they do every single time. Hell, the 10 I was at that one of the one of the LSU media members is then they're eating and drinking. Everything was fine. I hear it. And here's the deal. And look, and look, this is any idiot that their idiots in every fan base. So whatever the only time I even heard a word was when an LSU fan came into a group of
Ole Miss people and then started saying shit, well, okay, duh. This is this was what I was thinking about. Did this escalate to the level that it did? Because the frame of reference was how LSU fans felt when Nick Sabin came back. And they were like, that's the thing. The most uncomfortable I've ever felt going into a stadium multiple times has always been going into Tiger Stadium. And I am no prude. I am no, oh my god. What about my safety and all this? It is their culture. Like it's like they want to give you the business. And because they want to give you the business and it's always a very drunk atmosphere. I think they were their only frame of reference was how it is when people come back to them. And I'm just like, I never thought that that scene was going to develop. And then here's the thing too.
And you look at today and you look at the way that LSU coaches acted today. Before the game, Lane Kippen grabs a football, fires it into the stands and hits somebody with it in the pregame. Why? Have no answer for you. What was Kevin doing? And then Kevin Smith, who I mean stayed with Ole Miss during the playoff run, now did it only to try to take Kiwan Lacey with him. And you heard Kiwan Lacey during the course of the week say that he had no relationship whatsoever with Lane at this point. He gets up there, taunts the students, essentially, taunts the crowd, and says that he was the person responsible for the best running back in school history right before the game. Like to borrow one from Jen Bellema, like if there was ever a karmic reason in a football game, it was in spades tonight in every capacity, period, bottom line. That's what got me is somehow through all the mess of this thing and all the stuff and all
the extra curriculars that were happening around the game. You had people that cover LSU blaming Ole Miss because they were trying to get their money back from Principal Amon Miyalin earlier in the week. And then somehow they were the one instigating and they were the one with the week leader and they were the one with us, or their coaches all act like complete jackasses on the field today. The evidence is right there. Yeah, I think I guess it's been this way since basically it's all been going on. Like remember, hey, why won't they just let him coach? Why won't they just let him do what he wants to do? It's like everything is, everyone has fallen in line and just taken whatever lane stances and lane has been proven time and time again throughout this entire process that he doesn't tell the truth about what's actually been happening. And yet that somehow becomes the narrative or that becomes honestly like the statement of fact,
that that's the historical record. And that's what's mind blowing to me is there's a guy that has consistently been proven to be time and time again, a liar. And here we are. Peace, press conference now on ESPN 2, I believe, where you're recording this part at 1059, just giving everybody a way to understand that as we move forward. Real quick, go through this just because it is the incredibly relevant Trinidad Chamblest 33 of 48, 363 yards, two touchdowns, one pick. He also ran for another score, Kiwan Lacey, nine for 43 and a score. I mean, look, we'll do this now too. And then I'll go back to stats. That is the one very key thing moving forward is Kiwan Lacey's health. Today was a perfect day for all miss and come in 100% every way, except for Kiwan Lacey's shoulder at this point, shoulder, collarbone, whatever the upper body
injury is. You had 70,000 plus first time over 70,000. You had an attendance record. And look, credit to Ole Misses Gameops because Jeffrey, look, you and I have been going to Ole Miss Games for a long time through our careers and just our lives as kids. We've seen some bad game ops. We've seen daytime fireworks. We've seen, we've seen, we've seen, we've seen, horrid. They did a tremendous job and they hit everything. You're talking about all the bells and whistles and had complete ownership of what tonight meant for Ole Miss and what tonight meant for this pan base as far as pulling off an atmosphere. The fans were there early. They did a hell of a job with all the game ops. It was, it was really, really impressive tonight. So kudos and props to Drew and Eric Wood and all those guys as they as they do that. Again, Ole Miss, I think I heard them on the on the TV thing and it's got to be close because they won't lost one damn time. They've got the best home winning percentage in the country since the start of 2023 and
another hell of a win tonight. I mean also like not to pander. Credit to you all. Like you can't have a great game operation if you don't have money. And the way that they've got money is because people have been giving and people have been spending. People are going. Credit to the people that are showing up. I mean, I told Chase this like I was blown away last week at what the atmosphere was like at the freaking Charlie game. And thank you baby. Congratulations. My wife watched a grand total of zero plays tonight. You didn't finish. You didn't even walk back into the end at all. Nothing. Absolutely not. No, she was dependent on me texting her. Oh Chase, she her best friend came in from start full and she booked a dinner for the two of them so that she could have an excuse to not watch. The restaurant has zero TVs. That shows you you've been hurting the past right there. That is evident of pain.
She texted me and they were unwilling to move on. She just texted me when they were up 17. Like well, it's just going to make it better for Lane when they win. She's earned it. She deserves it. She sent me send me a text with with her sizes and I'll get a couple of those shirts to you for her. We're pedaling. So yeah, send that to me. Um, but go ahead. What were you saying? That's not the panda. That was what I was with the fans. Like the way they've shown up the way like you can have the best game operation you want. I watch the Grizzlies. When the building is empty, the game operations not that much different than when it's a freaking playoff game. Part of the atmosphere is everybody's showing up and being there and spirited. So y'all deserve all the credit to it. Finishing that thought, Kiwan Lacey, I don't know what the injury was. He fell on the left shoulder. An LSU defensive line when it might have been Gerald's came down on top as well with
his full weight. He leaves the field. They rule him out while he's in the locker room after he came off the, came after he came off the field and he was favoring that left shoulder pretty, pretty severely. It was that the arm was hanging loose from the body. And it's the one thing that looked a little injury a thousand times. That's the guy that your brother, your brother can tell you what this is. They're going to strap it up and they're going to do the best they can and you just see. But here's a deal. He's going to have labor and surgery that may or may not work. And it changed what Omis was doing offensively. They abandoned the design run outside of a couple of times that Lindsey took away with it. Now I will say this. Lindsey ran four times for 20 yards along of 11. I thought he was damn good and limited opportunities. He does have some damn potential now. It got wiped away but the catch that he made on the screen when they threw the flag on Haas. Like he made a good catch and he also made a good run after the catch. He like knife through a couple defenders. And I damn near thought on one of those drives. He was like that close
to breaking it and I thought he was he was an adequate replacement. Now that's also going to get them beat because Trinidad was incredible. Even the best quarterbacks cannot be incredible every single time they go out there. And if Trinidad was just an eight out of ten they probably get beat tonight. Kiwan Lacey is the best blocking running back in the country. Bar none not close. Especially on like when it comes to like I can't believe he even got there's like a guy that comes off the edge like a blitz that should have gotten home. He sees it out of the corner of his eye. He's incredible. He's the best blocking running back ever seen. He is phenomenal. They had that play. I guess it was to Odom right before the touchdown early in the game for the first score when he stepped up and just stone walled the defender there for LSU. Neil is reporting that X-rays
on Kiwan are negative for whatever that that that's contributing to the I didn't think it was a I didn't think it was a broken car. I thought it was a separate shoulder. Yeah. So I think we're going to move to Tindans and ligaments next from the the X-ray portion. But that is good. I mean you would rather have you can strap it up. You can't play with a broken collarbone. So I mean that is I guess first up. But we'll see where it where it goes when they are. But they changed their offense. They got away from the design run. They essentially used quick kid outside passes as the run game for the majority of the game outside of those runs from Lindsey. Macau for Asia had been banged up some during the week and I don't think he got in tonight to at least did not get a carry. But I don't think I saw him period there at that point. But again, JT Lindsey giving them some reps for carries 20 yards for him. Truded that chambles on the ground didn't do much but he did score one touchdown had a long of 15 and then Ray seven catches 115 yards long of 36. How to touchdown turn eight targets into seven catches by the way. He was great tonight. They got Caleb
Odom back and he was phenomenal. He's a difference maker. That's a big body. That's a guy with some speed. Odom looks so much more comfortable in year two of this offense and I'm still calling it this offense because he's an he's at Ole Miss for the second year after transfer from Alabama. LSU had really keyed on do South Exander but seven catches 60 yards. He got 10 targets tonight. Seven catches out of those. Horatio Fils turns eight targets into five catches 52 yards. Luke Haas three catches out of three targets. Michael Smith two catches two targets and then Lacey two catches. Cook attack a catch and JT Lindsey also a catch for eight yards. This is notable Jeffrey, especially with Odom's emergence and Haas able to give you some some credible snaps there if you will. If I'm counting this up correctly eight. Let's see eight. They went to the Tideon 13 times tonight. That's a big number. Yeah, I think they liked the matchup because I know Will Whitwigs
gets a lot of attention but he's not great in coverage and I think that they were picking on that. I also thought after a couple of meant performances that I'm not going to hold against him because I think he's a really good player. I thought Eccles was phenomenal tonight and another guy that I thought was really really good is a guy that I guess everybody in the fan bases decide they don't like. I thought for Ellie was good tonight. I thought he had a tough assignment. I thought he was really good. I mean to me like the big difference is they were able to clean up whatever was plaguing them on the defensive side of the ball. They did not have the massive busts. I mean yeah you like I think about LSU scored 24 but they made it really hard on them really really hard on them and there's
just not a lot of quarterbacks I look at this league until honestly and if he keeps playing like this maybe the guy that they're going to play at the end of the season. There's not many quarterbacks that I'm sitting there going like God he scares the shit out of me. You're talking about a potential chamblis Darian Mincell match up down the road. Oh no I'm a Camaro Taylor. Oh he's here. Oh he made Taylor. Oh god you. They did have a hell of comeback today. We'll talk about that later but I mean right now I think he's who I would say is training to the second best quarterback. I think that is a valid argument right now for sure I watched zero snaps. I thought Austin has looked really good this year. I just saw the score. I don't know what happened against Missouri Troy but I think Austin's had a very good start to the season. So I want to get into that a little bit while we're going through different topics because we
were talking about the emotion and obviously a huge game. You're knocking off lane because there's two there's two things with this is one. Let's do this first then I want to get into the schedule because I want to talk about what it means from up a ball standpoint. Neil is writing right now trying to get content up again. We have it and it's credit to you guys but we've grown into one of the largest 24 seven sites on the network and we have to get written content up. It's just the way that works. It is is necessity and it's the primary part of our job especially with 24 seven and CBS. Sam love it tonight. He's a gamer now. Tough son of a gun. His run game kept him in this thing. They lose a hell of an option quarterback. He kept them in it. They lose green by far their best playmaker outside of 11 when that happened the game like notice how they they were worried about
being able to create any explosives like you could tell that was a massive injury and I don't I don't want to undercut that at all. So Ole Miss defensively as you said, Eccles was great tonight after and not really anybody calling his name him getting double team between the first two weeks. I thought that the biggest two things one from the whole 25 tackles misting its Louisville they swarmed to the football. They finished. They played with intensity. They played with viciousness. They were great up front tonight. They were they were really really good in the front seven. Linebacker showed that advanced speed they didn't have last year. They were able to get to the edges. They were able to limit the run game most of the time when they were able to do that simply because of because of their speed and and ability to get there and then can you shrieve Denson back was a huge plus in that back end. He and Antonio kite tonight for Ole Miss. I thought Denson did a pretty good job in coverage at times. I'm curious what pf says tomorrow when I pull those numbers and then
I thought he came down hill in the run game and really gave him an extra guy in the run game. They did not have prior to him playing for the for the first time and then you turn it over to LSU's offense here and again Levit goes 16 for 27 158 Jones the running back 23 for 106 Levit goes 63 on 17 on the ground and then green even though he left early he led LSU with 60 yards receiving when he Watkins had 54 on three catches a touchdown that came on on that deeper out down the right sideline and then they had four other guys two catch two bypasses and two other guys catch one pass each Ole Miss leads in total yards 426 to 330 LSU only throws again for 158 runs for 172 Ole Miss was really damn good defensively because that was she scored some of their points there off those two those two shorter fields as well. We do all the the exaggerations and then this is a good segue into what I want to talk about about what Ole Miss and what this this wind means.
Where do you see LSU right now? What's your thought through three weeks because it's obvious Clemson really sucks it's obvious that LSU is not going to face many quarterbacks like turn to that chambles and LSU's got a pretty good defense against the right matchups. Is this a is this still a playoff caliber team? Yeah I would say it's a playoff caliber team now are they going to get there because I mean think about it last year when you saw Oklahoma lose to Texas and Ole Miss did you think after that that they were going to make the playoff? Well I think that's you would say no but they ended up making it. I just think that people are really struggling with if you just grown up being a college football fan your entire life like you really struggle with that there are games that swing back and forth back and forth and there's teams that look great
one week and then teams that look horrible the next and they went on the road they lost a tough game but they're going to get some big games at home and they're going to look okay I mean I think their biggest issue is they can they can spend zone it all they want they try to get they try to get to bond Williams and they didn't do it and they said ironically they said the buyout was too expensive. No I don't think it was the buyout was too expensive I think it's Washington and the big 10 wrote such a good contract he was welcome to go play football at LSU he would be doing so for zero dollars. Now could you pay him under the table could you do all that like maybe but they weren't going to be able to pay him they weren't going to be able to pay him and they were going to have to give I think Washington like 7 million out of the cap so that's what I said no but I mean 27 throws for what chase 100 would you say 153 yards that is correct
yes 153 yards that's terrible like wait a minute yeah yeah Sam Levin 16 of 127 158 and this is the same guy who entered today with four interceptions and again as you said I mean this is this is a little bit of a non-sequitor he is the guy that lost to Mississippi State not only lost to Mississippi State lost to Mississippi State with 82 yards like here's the thing about Levin he is he's a very good scrambler okay awesome that's not going to beat like Trinidad Chambler is a good scrambler you'll be fine if Trinidad was just a good scrambler it's the fact that when he scrambles he can also make unbelievable throws I mean the throw over the top where he had an easy completion underneath and he's like off screw it I'm just going to throw a freaking dime in between two defenders like that's that's what's scary but man levit really really really made it a
ton of money based on a half against Texas in a playoff game when they were down three plus scores because that guy's career is pretty shaky beyond that but it's like hey man did you see what you did that playoff game against Texas and it's like whoo boy like all the sudden we've decided because like I mean I mentioned this to you at during the summer like the market basically elevated Sam Levit to a level that he actually hasn't delivered from a production standpoint but because we're getting to this point where quarterbacks in the portal are worth so much money because well you got it you got to get one he was just a free agent that just got way too much money but like he's not that good you guys are talking about it in the stream I'm actually glad like there's part of me that's happy that Lane because he what he was it for the most part of his press conference did seem a little more
down there a little more humbled at least for the night after after losing because you can only be such a certain level of smartass when you when you lose the game I'm glad he still gave the one sound bite because yeah they pulled it here yeah he had to leave to get Ole Miss to fill the stadium an hour before kickoff that was that that that was that they like you you still just get it even even with uh he look I mean here jeper he is gonna have the better quarterback against Texas A&M next week so there's that maybe it's gonna be a bad quarterback game more sells better runner and that's what I'm going here LSU now one and two and we're we're operating under the premise that we think ten and two is what was required to get in if somebody gets in at nine and three great but that the goal is to get to ten and two if you feel good about it they very easily almost to this hour next week could be two and two and at that point can add Kentucky Mississippi state
at Auburn Alabama Texas at Tennessee left on the schedule night freaking night not a chance they're not running that slate if they lose on Saturday I mean two there they're two and one I'm sorry whatever same point uh yeah I mean this is the other thing man like I don't think any of these teams are all super deep so all it takes is like a couple of injuries for the wrong guys and all these teams that look really good all of a sudden they're gonna start looking not that good because part of the NFL like the NFLcation of it if you will is you start to realize that a lot of these teams are really like five players and you get the wrong five guys hurt and all the sudden this team that looks incredible I mean if you're if you see Ole Miss on your schedule right now you're like holy shit what if you see Ole Miss on your schedule and do
snifes playing quarterback I mean sure well because that's the plate though I think that's the point is that they're when you're talking about the need to get to ten and two and because again when you get to ten and two here's how you do it you have the best quarterback because that's gonna lead you to so many wins it is where I was using it as you as a pivot Ole Miss schedule Ole Miss suddenly getting this win tonight and the way they did it with chambles and then suddenly dominating the line of scrimmage against a fifty million dollar roster that was built to dominate the line of scrimmage you've got to feel incredibly good right now in a couple different ways one you're one and oh and these swing games that you're talking about and then number two look they got the win today the Louisville Cardinals are gonna be a really impressive freaky win on your schedule come late November because they're gonna be ranked in every game the rest of the way they beat SMU by ten tonight I'm not saying they can't lay an egg but they clearly are have the inside path to be the number two team in the ACC and potentially going 11 and one with you being their only their
only loss like Ole Miss looks really good in a beauty contest right now no I agree with you but also Louisville's a luchin a keenholds injury away from being asked like and I understand like we can do this so but like my point is when everyone's right but Ole Miss is formula right now is the Kansas City Chiefs from two years ago where you're sitting there going man I have no idea if this team's any good but it's like they get into a one score game and they just have the better quarterback every single time and so like to me like that that is their formula but I think the other thing that's encouraging right now is the when you look at the schedule Auburn looks worse Vandy looks worse Oklahoma looks the same to me but it is on the road
I guess you have to say like hey man next week isn't exactly like a fun one either oh well no I mean that's the thing I mean next week is going to be a very difficult game for Ole Miss simply just getting up emotionally John's got them play and incredibly well right now they're a physical team that runs it I mean Baws no joke whatsoever but again when I look at it and I look at what's going on I just think that when you break down Ole Miss's schedule because of you have chambles and assuming he stays healthy and plays anywhere at the level you're going to beat or at least be a fairly considerable favorite in my mind against the mid-level teams just because you're so much better quarterback and then you're just trying to play 500 ball at the top half like I think that's the way it was Brian hello I'm assuming that you stayed until the end of the game I was sorry it took me a while to get him I was in attendance for that one I also don't really have much of a voice but it was fun that was a great environment it was a very cool atmosphere
that was one where I normally would have preferred to watch that from my couch but I just kind of had to see the environment for myself and yeah it was it was a lot of fun I wonder who Kiffin blames this on that'll be fun he did say that it took him leaving to get the people in the stands as early as they did tonight so he did take credit for that really what is selfless act by someone who's totally not associated with Arthur and Narcissist at all so for people who weren't at the game and I'm sure there's plenty of those in our stream because there's a crap ton of people in our stream right now could you tell that the power outage was going on like what was not working and did it come back at any point oh I'll give you one I didn't know there was a power outage but at one point so I we sat in my parent seats in that box and the fire alarm went off and nobody could figure out what the hell was going on for a bit um but I didn't know there was actually I sat through that entire game and I know I did there was a power outage so there was some speakers out but at least before the game and into the game and then the elevators were not working so media and scouts had to walk up the stands to get to the the press box at one point
yeah yeah so that's what I was wondering maybe give him cut him if they allow him to do so so take me through this a little bit for people that weren't there Rippy paint some scenes for us um I guess three different scenes and tell me kind of what you experience crowd-wise what you experience just kind of move to the place as Ole Miss was running through LSU in the first half uh as LSU did kind of make that come back and it sounded like it got quieter and then just that in that entire scene as LSU failed on its goal to go there at the end. Yes sure I mean I think in the first half um I mean during that Shameless was just better than anybody else on the field particularly in that first half and that last passie through that got Ole Miss up 24 to 7 I think LSU after they scored that touchdown you're sitting there if you're Ole Miss you're thinking all right if we get three here you're probably in good shape we've got 20 to 7 and six points there and obviously ultimately seven to make that a three score game again at halftime just felt like okay this is their night and then it flip pretty quickly uh you
had Lacey go out of the football game LSU scores a couple of times in a hurry LSU is probably one defensive mistake away from taking the lead 28 to 24 there at the end even though they didn't and it was pretty deflating in that stadium I had to be honest I think of there are a lot of people that had the mindset of I've seen how this movie ends and Ole Miss stops them and then they go down and I would have to pitch about to y'all we all paint a picture for me the going for two was the craziest thing I've ever seen in a major college football game in my life they go up six and then he has the offense on the field I'm very curious what did the broadcast say about this I thought they were like on drugs what it am I just weird what what what what was I thought that was nuts well what if it was just no snap no play but why would you even try that because analytically we were talking about this earlier analytically because if you trust your kicker it makes sense because if you get it you really get a ton of advantage and if you don't they've
got to go down they've got a score and then you still get a chance at a game winning field goal versus you've still got to win it over time if they tie it so analytically if you trust your kicker it actually gives you a statistical advantage okay you're right now if it fails and LSU wins 31 to 30 Brian I want to be very clear if they would have run a two point play from the three I would be right there with you but I'm also well they tried it though they lined up to do no no I'm convinced they did no snap no play and then the guy jumped then they snapped it so like it was also a five-year penalty you could have just taken the whatever and kicked the extra point from the you're not really like I think what they were trying to do is all right if they don't jump Kenyero can make a 28 yard extra point or whatever you know a 25 yard extra point rather but so if they really were though running a play I totally agree with you but I do think what they
I think they were doing the move that you would do on fourth and one when hey let's see if they'll jump but normally what happens Brian is nobody jumps and LSU not only jumped they jumped again yeah exactly I was the most hoys thing to not and everyone I get you are saying no snap no play but why try that there that was so random and maybe I'm behind on football trends if we see this elsewhere it happens in the NFL when whenever you see like you'll see some NFL teams that will go for two on their first score now it's not like every week but it's not like I've never seen this now does it normally happen in the fourth quarter with six minutes to go no it does not like so I do agree with your point if they were just gonna run a play but I'm still convinced what they
were just trying to do is get them to jump and if they got them to jump then they would sit there and go you want to roll like no I get that you want to be I thought it was so crazy of like what in the in the stadium you can't hear the broadcast obviously so I'm like what what are they doing did the broadcast it also went in on this well no on the broadcast it happens so quickly they were confused yeah as was everyone else I was confused too it was that was nuts but they they get it how much I'll ask all this to like broadcast wazers on TV how much different did y'all feel after they got that because it did feel like it changed the game it changed the game because one of my one of my number one pet peeves is saying an eight point game is a one score game yeah no it's not you got to score twice like like yeah one of your scores it's a one possession game correct but like yes you get a score twice like and like yeah the second score they give you
they give you a bunch of yards if you only got to get three of them but like that's not exactly like like you got to get two score in lane that was gonna go for two lane wasn't going to over time and gonna go tit for tat but turn it at I think you're right about that too I think he was probably I think it depended when they scored the like Louisville was it was it a minute 20 versus I think because I think if they scored the minute 20 I don't think you're doing it I mean I guess the argument would be if you don't score at least you could on side kick it and then maybe at least finish with the ball but I think I think if you're them in that situation like there was still enough bad that could happen that you keep playing it out I think I think with if it would have played out with almost up seven in the exact fashion that it does I agree if if LSU would have scored there they're going for two I in that scenario but if they scored on the
other side of the two minute warning I'm not convinced that they go for two so Jeffrey I got to ask you you were you were nails on this in two fronts you mentioned last week and two weeks ago that lane often makes these games too big too big and kind of crumbles or shrinks in the moment and also that Levin was not good enough to beat them as a pocket passer I thought both of those proved to be true aside from like the making fun of lane kiff and take what do you figure the take is of kiff and after this game so I definitely think chambles prove that he's clearly better than Sam love it yeah thanks if we're being honest so I would have liked to see in a little bit more embarrassment for lane like I don't think he did anything that was out of the or like he didn't really make a decision where I go what the fuck are you doing it wasn't the lane call potentially but I really need to know the four down like 20 like it was I didn't mind the call but I needed him
to not get that yeah but he also didn't really like there wasn't any decision that he made that I'm like this is stupid like everything he did I did feel like at least logically within the game flow made sense like honestly the most big balls move of anyone was tonight was Pete I mean right or wrong like going for two was holy shit I mean how do we grade Pete tonight all all around he obviously gets an A plus on managing his team manages these teams emotions he was focused on hey let's get to the game and not blow everything emotionally in pregame and during the week I mean I guess we could break down and try to discuss using all the time we do yeah I was I was like I said we gotta get him a timeout guy yeah yeah he's timeout guy like we here's my here's my number one rule Pete first half time out whatever I don't care spend them do do whatever you don't have any issue with with first half time
out so you're cool whatever just whatever like there's enough but like and you are you less worried about him because of Trinidad though well the reason why I'm worried about second half time outs for Ole Miss is I think you're gonna play a shit ton of one score games and you're gonna be able to need to get the ball back for Trinidad because Trinidad with no timeouts in 45 seconds still gives you a chance versus Trinidad with no chance to get the football back yeah yeah he's also a defense guy so he's okay right now using a lot of defensive timeouts which normally I'm okay with but I'm only okay with it in the sense of getting the ball back it feels like he's using him though because he knows he's like I mean as they're sitting on the stream a timeout on third and 20 no no no no please no yeah it feels like they're going this is a big play we gotta make sure we're lined up it's like new new like let it go like be Elsa just let it go like
what was that what is that he delegates well he is he is being able to he's going right into a zero role really well he really is also it's what his seventh game or six game right it's his sixth game and five of his six have been against top 25 teams so he's in a playoff game or Charlotte Jeffrey Jeffrey's putting a claw that there's a caveat I know I know where he's going two lane was a top 25 team on paper they were a top 25 team they just weren't a top 12 team they were the top 25 look we have documentation to prove it they were top the incidental rankings had them in light had them like 23 24 I don't know I'm just telling correct but I would like to know how many teams would have been favored against two lane because I know one of them was Memphis four of six then okay four of six Miami Georgia Louisville LSU
and you could make the argument right now Ole Miss has the number one and number three best wins in the country I'm sorry number two and number three my fault number two and number three oh one's Texas overhouse date I think I would say Texas A&M would if Texas A&M were playing Louisville tomorrow I still think Texas A&M be favored now it's like I'm doing anything because this Kentucky have the third best way oh okay sorry I forgot the one yesterday my bad all right all right all right well and also is is Oakland State beating Oregon bigger well you think Oregon's not nearly as good as people think they are yeah no I don't but I'm asking y'all yeah that's bigger still right now yeah that's bigger but two of the eight period I feel convincing Ole Miss has two of the five biggest wins
yeah so far this year but we've played three weeks yeah sure I mean yeah yeah yeah yeah it looks saddle up next week Florida um they're they're going to be if nothing else completely locked in he's not a hell of a job in wheels girl miss that's going to be the first prom time game at home for some role that's going to be a tough one uh Vanderbilt's a bad football team first half I think Auburn's very bad too first half though watching it in this 80 oh and having no other context I haven't looked anything else I literally got home and clicked on this link it seemed like Trinidad would just better than anyone else on the field like that seemed like a pretty masterful half a football like they're probably up three nothing or six nothing if they don't have Trinidad Jambo is that he seemed just so much better than anyone else that was on the field is that kind of an accurate portrayal of what was what's on TV and the like the I mean yeah 100% no they they have probably the best player of the country I mean that's what I mean Jeffrey and I open the show
talking about how today yeah you mean you could only realistically if you had a high-spin trophy vote right now you could only realistically vote for Trinidad Jambo is our Darian Mensa and Chambers has played a far-reor per schedule well and also furthermore do Salis Anders and Ice receiver um I thought they got some good what was seven seven I thought had a hell of a night all right there is no Malachi Tony on that Ole Miss receiving court like now with that big said Mensa Mensa doesn't miss many throws at all well he completed 24 in a row against Wake Forest last night well I mean he's at 90 something percent on the on those season and he's throwing the ball like 12 yards in the air so it's not like oh it's 91 percent just bubbles and check down now he has played Stanford Florida A&M and Wake Trinidad has played it unless you
Louisville and that defense that allegedly belongs to the 49ers of Charlotte anyone who got frustrated by the Charlotte game take a sedative like that that was that was 14 days of LSU prep there was no there was there was no focus on the 49ers we could go because that was a different defense tonight I mean as you I mean where's a much Trinidad but I do think it's good as we move forward it's good to reiterate one more time that the other thing that's going to do well for this offense and for this defense is that they won both sides of the line of scrimmage clearly definitively handled elbow she went front on both sides that's a big deal moving forward and you know look we got we got to see on lacey a couple people in the stream mentioning that he only had 11 touches tonight so really low number what happened there though he didn't come back it's a collarbone or a shoulder it's looks like a shoulder sound good
X-rays were negative but it looks like a attendant ligament situation something something connected if you are also key one only having 11 touches is also wildly disingenuous because he left his most well no my whole thing is his most physical plays are when he doesn't touch the football it's when he's stepping up and taking on some guy that has 30 pounds on him and he's fricking putting his like face mask in his chin because he's like the best blocking running back have ever seen another take I had from this game and again y'all you know how you had such a much better vantage point it seemed like after lacey went out they didn't even really pretend to try to run the football it was a looable game all over again yeah can't turn it at B that's a great way to put it can turn it at B awesome again and can we can we take this thing to the finish line and I feel like when they were up 24-21 they needed one more touchdown drop to win this
I didn't think they did a two point conversion too but that was like you can't they can turn it I get them in the end zone and he did I felt the same way like is I know every Ole Miss fan that was blowing up my phone was in a state of like the the the equivalent of the fetal position I told every single one of this was how stadiums I thought they were going to win I have I can go and show receipts I was like if they score touchdown they're going to win now this is they were they were two plays and if they went up 28-24 I don't think Ole Miss wins this is right here I'm laughing at this as much as I'm anything I've been following some other post game shows some other stuff being said this is a holiday comment from one of the LSU shows this is a better dumbest better to say I haven't seen I haven't seen Matt with post game show yet the SEC better send Ole Miss to Baton Rouge for two consecutive years now because I know they swapped Ole Miss and A&M schedule out they just broke a bylaw give me all the tears that we are
that we are claiming the SEC is biased in scheduling against LSU who is playing 80 something percent of night games as a favor because they felt like they were getting screwed by their schedule to chase chase to these people become LSU fans yesterday I submit to you the year 2001 Ole Miss played at LSU do you know what happened in the year 2002 they played in Baton Rouge then too and what was it was it 2012 there's another back-to-back in Baton Rouge it wasn't 12 because 11 was when they beat the crap out of Ole Miss here in Houston's last year and then 13 Ole Miss one on the Andrew Ritter kick on the last play of the game there's another one where they remember they had to play twice back-to-back to flip the schedule because Ross remember he wanted to break up Alabama and LSU it was when A&M came into the league
I'm pretty sure Jeffrey I don't know when that happened but I know what you're talking about yes and and I think a good point to stream too yeah Ole Miss doesn't want to hear any of that considering somehow they've gotten Georgia as a permanent opponent they just play in them over and over and over again though because of the way they hit the schedule too I would also tell you Rebels you cannot complain about last year schedule it worked oh you had a good schedule last year I had a good schedule last year last year last year worked out quite nicely like welcome by the way welcome to NFL football schedule lottery so here's hey here's one for you Jeffrey Ole Miss played in Baton Rouge three times in a row in the early 90s no sorry 90 we'll see 90 throw a little 95 96 77 I guess 98 in Oxford 99 in Baton Rouge 2000 in Oxford and then as you said 0 1 and 0 2 in Baton Rouge so I mean it was it was a ton back and forth
like first off I got to respect them to think that like what they are we need to do like a actual like psychological study of them as a fan base because they swing back and forth between the biggest most arrogant fan base ever while also then swinging to the ultimate victims and I've never seen quite the swing like it's like the whole world is out to get them but God damn it they got the best for like who wouldn't want to come be here it's like it's like Revada versus like everyone's out to screw us it's unbelievable everyone hates us because we're so key superior yeah exactly I mean they're they're a complete unserious operation the governor of the state is running the school and we're all a bunch of assholes for thinking that that's not normal like what I don't understand that we're all supposed to believe that's a normal way to go about
things Lane Giffin reports to the governor the the the sitting athletic director at OSU actively covered up sexual assault during the whole edd-o's wrong thing or whatever the hell that was and he's still there because he's the last man standing the president doesn't do anything but we're all sweet this is normal and they're the victims it's unbelievable I can't believe you that's right Ole Miss played back-to-back at Bama in 12 and 13 yeah that's it so yeah our boy our boy Jared the stream says he unfortunately recalls those well good to see you but we did we went from the Confederate grace of the binoculars game I believe one of those back-to-back years oh was that the back-to-back you're actually yeah I think so I have so glad they got rid of those stupid jerseys I don't know what Ole Miss only had two jerseys and then when people tried to explain that the grays were awesome I'm like they look like they're the white jerseys that got put in the blue laundry and they came out like gray they were against Bama that time when they
were on the year of the new two and ten and Cam Newton destroyed yeah that's right or maybe that's 2007 Cam Newton was 20-20 but still not not to get the result that was like one of the most impressive games I've ever seen that was just a guy is this guy's a different level I have to take Reeves is talking his shit tonight he goes tweet a second ago what is a 54 million dollar buyout for the old coach and 91 million dollar contract for the new coach and a 50 million dollar roster gets you an ass-wooping in Oxford Mississippi so we're still continuing the gubernatorial fight right now I mean look I mean there were four yards away from from having a play to tie the game it's a win in a cover Jeffrey ass-wooping I don't know I don't agree with you so win in a cover they covered I guess by what 11 points right oh yeah no hey double digit cover double digit cover yeah I don't know I tell you it's the way I see it well you know seriously it's like this is the
problem for LSU right now and I think it's why their fan base is spiraling out outside of they just had supreme cockiness for no real damn reason all week is that Langerie the governor in lane bring out the worst in each other to a problem to to a situation where this only goes below and step it's like freeze and mullen except they're on the same side they both have horrible ideas and but they're also both used to having power and like ultimate power and being able to do whatever they want because one is the a one party governor and so he gets to do whatever he wants and the others football coaches used to doing whatever he wants but it's the same thing it's like freeze and mullen brought out the worst in no checks and balances and no hand always got everything goes correct done whatever yeah that sounds good the school is run by the fucking governor like I don't like this is a and then we were we were being gasslet into believing this is normal we have to pretend this is like some normal thing that's going on and we have a neutered AB and a neutered president
that don't do anything at all others say yes sir when it's required and we're supposed to believe this is some normal way to run a university but you know I'm sure that'll work out fun I mean I guess in fairness to ls you there's history of that I mean there is but the real one is the guy when they they stop bringing the lob tiger on the field who brought in his own tiger from Oklahoma because he was so mad about it his entire political career is just doing stunts for points what you also differently here the other problem with Landry is you can tell the more Landry talks about sports the more you can realize like oh he's not a sports guy like he I mean like he's he's a leader guy like he like he is not like an actual sports guy he knows he knew he knows that if LSU wins at football it gives him political capital so that's that because there's only thing and frankly the majority of his state or LSU fans were that supersedes most of his other
policies so he gets that right curating stays up and it's whatever it is his entire playbook is how do I be loud while also is shirking the responsibility for these stunts on other people he was a state senator and brought a tiger into tiger stadium that they rented from Oklahoma that nobody knew anything like what to do with right how do we get this thing out of here like he's using Lane Kiffin and the football program as a pawn as much as I've never been uh charged by that fan base I've you miss Mike the tiger on the sideline Mike the Tigers at Gorgis was like he was the man like I freaking love Mike the Tiger but if they banned him would you be the first one being like we got to go find another tiger hey we got to go get one off the bench maybe I'm not saying I wouldn't like if we're just being put I get if we're in the trust tree like I'm not saying that I wouldn't like I I was not
in my head in agreement with Dan Campbell when he was trying to get a live line on the sideline for the Lions I was like hell yeah it was baby I was watching seeing what Neil was about to publish which is a column that everyone is going to really enjoy reading and be amazed by uh very soon or be amazed frankly not not surprised in a lot of ways as we talk about Lane Kiffin so it'll be up soon for still on I might even read it out loud I think it would be would be the least they beat him and there's nothing watching him squirm on the sidelines was great but he didn't really do the dumb things that got him beat they got beat because Ole Miss was better tonight which in some ways is even scarier for him well but I also think this is true if you made me guess this is the worst roster he's gonna have of the next two or
three teams you say that but they spent 50 million dollars like whatever they also and he is not exactly a guy that just lands top shelf talent because he closes deals I think he's gonna have better receivers than he has this year I always gonna have a lot of them maybe at the at the at the but has to you know are against the the will of his defensive coaches now what does he do if Blake Baker gets a head job because like he wasn't a good spot where Blake didn't end up getting a job this year and so Blake was better off staying so he's gonna have to try to find a new defensive coordinator that's a tough ask but if you made me guess the team that he brings in on a transition class is probably not gonna be as good as the one he has next year because I know this he's gonna have a better quarterback than Sam Levin next year come hell or high water I don't know how he's
gonna do it but he's he's gonna have a better quarterback what what is Ellis use over under now in your opinion for the season was so is eight to half to start this is probably a swing game yeah so all right they've got a nm you want to schedule again is it a nm at home right it's it's in the batteries right it is they go too noxville right after that is that correct no no no here we go so two and one a nm at home mignis at Kentucky Mississippi stated home at Auburn open date Alabama at home Texas at home in noxville in Fayetteville I gotta be honest man I still think I'm setting it at eight and five
I'm sorry eight and a half eight and a half I'm still setting the the which means no playoff unless they knocked that out by one and a half games most likely swing games they got to win one of Bama and Texas at home right yep and they got to win one one no they got it and well that's it they got to win everything else to my coil they got a they got a they got a split Bama in Texas and they have to not stumble and that not stumbling means beating egg nm next week and winning a noxville which is not a cakewalk I get I'm doing the Tennessee thing but they're good I was doing the Tennessee thing before you were I know like they're good I told you they're roster the question with them was legitimate is what does phase on Brandon look like and now is he gonna make some mistakes sure but he clearly has been a good option for them and that's three weeks in a row November 7th the member 14th and November 21st well right while we're doing it let's do Ole Misses at Florida next week by week
are they getting my favorite yeah I saw somebody told me that that Florida shifted to a slight favorite not really that was before the end you can tell me Florida you can tell me Florida by a point point and a half and I think I buy it I think I would have guessed before you said that like Ole Miss minus two to two and a half but let's see if he thinks up I'll check it in a second and while we're doing this Florida like again was running over what was the final what was the score of all but it ended up being a six point game but it was like it was they were up three scores with like four minutes to get okay I didn't watch much of that but they seem like they dominated that game for the best part and the final score does not reflect how much better Florida was than Auburn and then Brown stinks they're in American team their defense is okay no they're in American American American well he had he could he could put up numbers
sir we next week yet okay I'll look at that this I get all right at Vanderbilt have we seen a weirder finish so only because I call high school football games I mean you could tell me Dave Dorn and CJ Bailey should both have not been allowed on the plane so I missed this because I was walking to the Grove and I turned on the or turned on the tv right after it happened they were supposed to snap the ball to take a safety to end the game and they fumbled it is that correct or am I missing that they could have taken a safety and won the game or just throw the game thing as far as they could throw it and win the game does remember and they fumbled is that what yes so how I mean give give Vandy credit guy rap like CJ Bailey's doing that move where you're like kind of like trying to run time and he kind of like turtles up well then one guy grabbed him held him up and then another guy rips the ball out another guy just lands on it
with one second so he wasn't even on the snap exchange no he was drifting trying to run out the clock yeah that's nuts it was and by the way all he had to do was just like raise up and just try to throw it as far as he could because the clock does not stop until it touches something wow okay and he forgets sack sack fumble Vandy falls on it one second left wins the game all right so I don't have a floor to line yet although the stream they're telling me maybe Ole Miss minus two and a half I think I see that somewhere but I don't know where that's from Missouri is going to be Ole Miss minus a point and a half all right okay good enough all right Missouri a game you should win but you better show I mean they're they're good they will be capable of being I think good is the word I don't think they're great I don't think they're very good I think they're good there's a little bit of a zoo rolls in here at six and a you know I don't know if that's casual is their history their history under drink what's
is they win every single game they're supposed to win and then when they level up they lose he's like the new age melon yeah kind of yeah then Ole Miss goes to Austin tough game October 24 all right I got one there then Auburn at home cab Georgia at home tough they're good I think they're the best I know I think they're the best Ad Oklahoma Wofford Mississippi State all right I would say you're setting it not in a half right now not in a half and I'm juicing it to the over yeah I think I think I think I'm they've they've swung two games since they've swung two games since the start of the season and you think that given three weeks of game play that there is a world world misses nine and two and at least
is going to have to sweat against the bulldogs and Oxford that night yes I did with that kid at quarterback they're definitely going to sweat my thoughts about this was if they went one in one against LSU and Florida they needed to go two in one against Texas Oklahoma and Georgia and if you somehow go two and oh against LSU and Florida you can go one and two against what we just described Texas Oklahoma and Georgia maybe that's not the correct way to think about it but that was the way I viewed the season yeah that's the way you think about it I mean you've got to win the middle of the game you don't lose to Mizzou and you find a way to beat Mississippi State home you don't lose to Auburn and again Ole Miss has lost one home game since the start of 2023 I mean at some point that does become relevant to the conversation because Jeffrey kind of on that on that note we started the show with this so I'll put it in a in a very clear way now you do you believe the best two quarterbacks in the SEC or in the Magnolia State I was already up makes I want to make I want to make sure I'm not overlooking somebody all right well I mean you're not overlooking anybody but
arch or I guess theoretically gunner Stockton I threw this half-baked takeout last week by the way well I've had Camario stocks since last year um yeah oh you was not even a conversational team anymore we're we're taking them and throwing them out in the past I want to also be clear on Camario Camario still has the ability to there the four-pick game is in there like I love the kid I think he's special and I would I would ride for him I have to acknowledge there is a low floor in there with Gunner Stockton he is not my flavor but there's a pretty damn high floor I think to me it's a question because I still I still don't quite trust trust arch like I know he got the big win last week but I'm like man god he misses a ton of throws and man he doesn't see it
I think yeah I think I'd buy it but I would hope I would at least get some odds on taking that okay I think there's a world where the egg bowl is a quarterback showdown and they become the two-miss entertaining quarterbacks in college football at that point I'm not saying that's likely to happen but I mean I totally got to you all last week two-miss entertaining there's there's a real world what that happens he's you know uh Kielan Russell has quickly been emerging that's another electric he is electric what are we doing I think I'd rather I think when I when I add the Kielan arch Gunner versus Camario like I think it's unquestion like Trinidad is the best in the league and I don't really think that's much of an argument it's who's the second best I think I would probably sell on Camario being the second best because I at least get three other options on the other one you see what
I'm saying but if you made me bet on one of them I don't know man Camario's Camario makes me feel big every time he plays I'm like god he makes tuck throws in every single one's in the bucket and we haven't even talked about how good of an athlete he is he moves his ability to play in the pocket is fantastic in when he runs he moves like a baby vince young it's like long gazelle strads but he's like faster than ever and nobody gets nice like Matt Jones same thing like Matt Jones yes that's the same thing where it's a micro aggression be careful how to how to gain back in the day that's that that oh four all right or whatever your was oh okay yeah it's joke but it's my my whole thing is like he doesn't look like he's moving that fast yet nobody catches him and he yes it's nice and that's like the most like like like like a piezing way to watch a quarterback run and playfoot
ball to where it doesn't look like he's moving that fast but he's just outrunning everyone it's it's a lot of fun and I watched Matt Jones do it three years like so long like it and just took off like why can't get you he's done that everything oh he's the greatest overtime quarterback of all time because all they had to do is just fake the stretch fake the stretch one way have him bootleg the other way and nobody could catch him um there's a couple of quick lines and we'll do this on Monday on the show clearly but uh ls u is a seven and a half point favorite at home against a and m for next week and then uh Georgia is a 13 and a half point favorite at home against Oklahoma next week those are the two SEC lines that are completely locked in by fandal as of right now I wish you as how much every seven and a half oh man uh ls u media uh trying to make a lot of people clapping in the press conference and it's it's it's donors because a lot of SEC teams allow donors in or frankly have are have the ability for donors to pay their way
into press conferences now they're grasping all because they have no Simmons with your outie because they've been told that the governor running their school is no we i mean ls u discussing the lack of professionalism in their media is is quite yes the take Matt Moscono would question what really happened on 9-11 if jet fuel can melt still beams if governor landry told him to hey did anybody see did the video get out um and i i think i want to go back and look Neil was taking some videos all i ask him and sending it to cbs i'm pretty sure when prince wool was walking through the stadium he was making several a couple different gestures toward fans anybody see this i i'd say off twitter to the i you didn't say this okay i'm not saying i'm not saying i didn't that didn't happen i'm just saying like i stay up twitter like okay i didn't okay i'm just just just just wonder i'm gonna find the video then uh but yeah something that was i don't imagine it's a pretty good night to be an Ole Miss fan online that would that's my that's
i think you probably can get all your fuel right now i mean smorgas board available right now uh you listen spently uh tweeting hotty toddy and things tonight everybody getting in on the uh in on the action what what what what what what we should choose a different word with the ulysses from this week ah okay fair what uh what was Oklahoma's final did they did hold on against New Mexico right 14 to 6 was it i think by the way i don't know how i didn't pick your boy had a spectacular day gambling today did you would you hit how you have everything like i think i went 10 and 2 with a 16 game parley really let's up with the no commentary niels picks always enjoyed that is this a protest or is it's a protest because niel has a thousand games yeah i just i i have to love that that's
pretty funny i have a thousand things to do like i'm like i just yeah no it's i finally i'm standing up for myself for once every time i go in there and put the minute just as rights pick blah blah blah i'm like i wanted to see the commentary nope on this i didn't know i said it's that it's a protest it's interesting did are you are you heading paragraphs on the Ole Miss game not anymore i didn't know not even more okay for some reason i thought you at least did that now i think maybe what i'll have to do is when i don't take Ole Miss to cover because of the last two weeks i didn't write anything for Ole Miss because i just picked Ole Miss and picked him to cover i think uh because i think i picked almost a win because usually it's a three point game and i picked the dog i usually pick him to win let's see what did i pick uh oh man yeah wait what was the final 32-24 i said Ole Miss 31 LSU 27 i'd say i had a good beat on the game
pretty good you didn't have Pete going for two i did not have Pete going for two i did not have that on my big card Pete went for two and Lucas canaro missed a kick all right so here's the other thing i was thinking about uh we uh we got to get Lucas off the the right the right uh hash is the hash bothering him well because i think the Louisville kicky missed was right hash this kick was right hash it feels like you know what i mean when you're you guys know this now it's opposite for chase but when you want to hit a draw when no rippy's left i don't want okay it's a right hander when you want to hit a draw you ain't lining the golf ball up on the right hand the right side of the t-box like you're always lining up like i will like give yourself a little space to hang it out there t-marker the t-marker so i can just fire that bad boy far right and bring it back in
when you like make me like as a draw like when you see the dog leg to the right you're never that comfortable and that's when you hit the big block like it wasn't like he hit like a terrible kick pede uh trying to uh just say it's about this season not about lane tonight was asked about this win specifically this is quoted just told our team in there was like look out the game everybody came here to beat ls u it's not what our goal was coming in working so hard in the off season summer wasn't just a win one football game is it sweet absolutely go enjoy it tonight we got to come back to work tomorrow have a really good Florida team next week so it wasn't the super bowl and we didn't make it to be the super bowl i think the goals and the expectations the glint and Keith have set for this place aren't about winning one football game of September it's a full circle moment for a lot of people that no player no person is bigger than anybody else and the place has been built the right way with good people so that was how Pete answered the uh
be there's there's a question today there's a legitimate argument next week is just as tough of a game a hundred percent it just says you're on the rules in around it correct but like you're going on the road like first real road environment and it is a team that is playing very well like first real home moment for summer off first real home game for him like like signage signature moment in this while a hundred percent almost football went after all is she pretty good on twitter tonight had the just different tag kind of video with a lot of negative lane things in it uh yeah no one rush the field no one tried to rush the field as Jeffrey and i talked about brine i was in the growth for a while today no war zone no bulletproof vest nothing was it to your on yeah nothing no no Gaza strip tonight it really wasn't that bad it was it was it was it was it was normal yes that's
a good way to put it it was normal it was a big hand weekend i will also say this though so my my my wife may not have watched a single play tonight but she was ready to go at 8 a.m. when game day hit on and i was awoken to the sound of hot lane kiffin and i gotta tell you the fan base really established the run early with the fuck lane kiffins like those were those were loud those were strong you could tell like it was the classic having been a producer when you have ambient audio like and it was so loud there's like there's nothing you can do it's like guys i can't i can't mute like we have to have microphones like i can't mute everyone did i guess the fcc doesn't care about that because it's hard exactly because it's also it's not like
scripted and like what do you say to drop ever because when you drop the audio you have to drop everything and it's live television also how much how much how much ground is espn have to stand on when it's like okay we can't hear the f word but we can watch we can watch a guy smoke weed on the air yeah i think we are at the end of the anal i just make a joint on the air that was news to me this week i didn't either but i mean i guess like welcome to cool my wife who's an HR and has to deal with companies in indiana does tell me that indiana it is not legal i can't imagine hrf would be like yeah smacking weed on air is awesome well no she doesn't care about she was she was just more saying like yeah sure it is state yeah like she was she listen this is a woman who's been beaten down she doesn't
really care about from a moral stance she cares about like yeah they're not this is legal yeah hey real quick i saw so i'm gonna read this as we get close to cap and for the night but i think we all need to to get the picture of this and i look lane has been texting all mispeople the entire week as he said he he called he and trolley wise called peak golding on Wednesday yeah no it's true no i've taught this people yeah yeah it was it was true i thought to john taulty who had plenty of information about that kind of thing this week he had his square book signing good day good day to be john taulty today by the way because he needs all of them all mispeople about the book though they'll hate read it now oh my every time to book release better so i'm gonna go ahead and read this because it tells you what where lanes mine was on on on friday here's here here's newsly it was 1248 p.m friday when the text popped up my phone was it lunch at the blind pig and Oxford with friends and from out of town for the omniscient
was shoe game it's a simple screenshot someone with a six six two area code had sent him i blurred the number out to protect the person's privacy did a white page reverse search on the number and get a name i didn't recognize the phone's owner had an Oxford address but that's not really the point the screenshot was two photos both of me podcasting in the clerk for studios in my home in Oxford i promised this column won't be completely about me but to set it up i've got to explain to anyone who has any idea who i am and hill after last week i think we all could all be excused if we make something about all about us anyway besides my main gig here covering omnis for 24 seven sports i share ownership of a podcast network called impia bidigital we produce a lot of shows my studios in the process being updated one of the shows i host is pizpyx can preview requires me to share my screen with pizpyx on a zoom call pizpyx football and i sit back and watch occasionally asking a question along the way pizpyx got better and better at the show blah blah blah that's not the point it's a casual show obviously it's a podcast and de weas is the star i'm not trying to win awards it's a chance for us in pw to dive into some hardcore football pre being omniscient opponent that week i'll still be the first to tell you that no one's ever accused me
of being a handsome man supporting putting it mildly about a wait and as any ball guy i'll tell you some extra pounds on a ball guy may as well be an extra dozen anyway i digress the person who sent me the friday afternoon text was elis ucoch lane kiffin some 30 hours before tick kickoff of a top 10 clash that was the talk of college football all week kiffin was thinking at least for a moment about me think about that for a moment and he puts the two screenshots in the in the story on a day when this team was flying to mipus to get within an hours drive of oxford to face his former team the next morning kiffin was texting photos of a former beat rider two said beat rider there was no message to chat so kiffin i suppose leaving me to interpret the meaning for six years i tried to interpret kiffin ease to my readers rivals in 24 seven sports i think i'm fairly adept at it but i'll be guessing on this one my first guess is he was having some fun body shaming me i'm not sure that's entirely fair to him might be me being self conscious of how i look too much into the busiest time of the year as extra time exercise time decreases and wait slowly increases mother guesses his way of letting me know he saw or heard some of the criticism
i levied his way over the past couple weeks critical of how kiffin left oxford not that he left made no friends and oxford saying they're out the last nine months again we'll get to the point i'll move on uh anyway either way in the message is almost certainly one of if not both of those options and the finals hours leading up to Saturday showdown in bottomway stadium kiffin was at least for a fleeting moment thinking of me if you wonder why a coach is brilliant as kiffin can always have games when he's distracted his team under achieves now you know for all the praise kiffin god is always you whip clipson in the opener people forgot last season almost nearly lost to Kentucky Arkansas and Washington state in 2024 distracted kiffin lost to Kentucky and then lost it floored up with a bid hanging in the balance you'd think one would learn over the last few weeks per sources kiffin's been texting people back in oxford we've covered this ground to the point that everybody here hand raised fatigued most everyone who has played any small role in this story over the past seven years is ready for a break from it kiffin for whatever reason must be struggling to move on here's the thing he's getting paid 13 million a year to move on and focus on the very high maintenance program he's leading in baton ruch and here's the deal on kiffin he's mighty kiffin's
son he was born rounding third base in his field omis rehabilitated his career and he took Ole Miss from a relevance to national prominence he chose to leave his former team uh leave and his former team beat him Saturday night 32 24 the environment one that kiffin helped build over the last half decade was elite i gracious moment would have gone away there alas the stadium was half foot was full an hour early kiffin said i guess i had to leave to get them to do that so you're welcome next up for the tigers is a hurt reeling text saying ill that lost to Kentucky Saturday maybe kiffin will send my kielco some pictures nothing against the agi's coach but he doesn't appear to be the picture of physical fitness either but let elco beat him Saturday and let's see how fast the honey moon in Louisiana ends it's the thing about kiffin sometimes it seems like he has a big horseshoe up his well somewhere if it ever falls out and i'd argue it slipped a bit Saturday i don't want to be anywhere near it maybe someone can just send me a text so friday you know he's sending new screen shots of nil well i mean a that's a phenomenal column also be nothing that he was revealed nothing that he
revealed there was like oh that didn't happen no every single one was like yeah yeah it checks out but i mean this is also the thing about ls u is this is a fan base that when they like they'll they turn on a coach really quickly but like never forget guys when brine kelly tried to drop the southern accent on us all of our ls u friends were like fuck you man like he's good coach like you're just scared of him it's like they go all in but they also do these like massive swings they will turn on you in a heartbeat and that's the thing about him man is you want one of these really big jobs you must be forgetting what happened the last time you had one of these really big jobs now you took it with massive sanctions and you maybe didn't take the the job that you thought you did but they fired you on a tarmac and they couldn't wait to be done with you i've always thought that is best when he's an underdog and he's fight from underneath and he can just fight it your
ankles and annoy the shit out of you it's a whole hell of a lot harder for him riding from the front they didn't fire him on a tarmac because he was one in three they fired him on a tarmac because they were tired of dealing with lane kiffin um and for anybody who thought Neil lost his fastball my god sit down in the back what an absolute gasoline heater he threw on that one but i mean this is a 51 year old man who regularly DMs women less than half his age and we're especially if he's going to take a a blue blood program in his story since two dominance he possesses the social intellect of a 12 year old that just gave access to a cell phone he texts and texts and text until people are like i don't want to get text from him anymore like i don't understand he has so small self awareness about anything other than i guess player evaluation and calling plays which take you a long way but this idea that he's going to bring ls you to multiple titles with the way he behaves and the way he acts is just nonsense to me and we've been gaslit and to
believe it his boss is a a buffoon of a governor i i i don't understand this situation ls you i really don't and i don't think it's going to end well but maybe i'm crazy peat has more big wins than lane already now would be a fair take i don't think that's a home or take at this point i get he coach play all the games i get it i i think i think the statement is factually true i also think context matters peat took over a hell of a job no doubt peat took over a better job than lane took when he got to Ole Miss i'm not saying it's all lane the lane was a part of it and this is why tonight grand picture fairly or not was a huge night for peat Golding because in the end he's going to be compared to like he's being judged against the standard of
is Ole Miss the good job or was lane kiffens job the good job and so far the early returns are peat Golding can handle this job and it's a good job and those are the early returns like again let's you know to quote dabbo we got 12 games let's see them all you know like but right now the early returns are Ole Miss is a capable program of proving that it's more than just who the coach was which i don't know if it really has been up into this point i think i think it's always been a better job than the perception was but it's also been a job where you can bottom out very quickly and what we're seeing right now is if you put competent person you can keep it rolling
is that the that's the era it's what Ole Miss has put into the process i mean i i think you also have to point this out i granted there on different sides of the ball but mark helfrick did take organ to a half within a national championship game because he had Marcus mario kind of about that guy like now did do i think do i feel more comfortable betting on peat Golding than i did even when helfrick was winning games yes i do but like there is an argument of is this run whoever the coach is or is this run they've had a pretty good pretty good track record of picking quarterbacks and like in a certain level is the most important decision peat Golding makes is who's this next quarterback is it doose is it somebody else like there's a legitimate argument of that because my god Trinidad Chambleis like that's the other thing i feel like i i feel somewhat guilty that we spent two hours trying to dissect everything
else that mattered when really this should have just been a two hour full ratio of Trinidad Chambleis okay well what what what close there let's do this game it will be close um oh misbex to play off Trinidad is in New York i think there's a both in either he booked he booked New York tonight you think he booked New York tonight i think so because i think he's the way that they're going to have to play he's gonna have numbers and he has the now doesn't mean he's gonna win because the one i just mean he gets a ticket to go on stage i think so because man the way you see it is like he's going to have numbers the whole damn year and everything that happens to him the whole year is like you're just gonna be reminded of every big game he's played and had and like he's now it's almost like there's also going to be a course correct where there's going to be people that realize he
should have been there last year but because they let the whole lane of everything uh overwhelming there will be a course correct and an over correction of like giving him his due which he deserves Brian where you at on that i don't have much to add i i i i totally agree um i think without all the bullshit this game would have been about junior net champ was just being better than anyone else on the field and really anyone else that are in college football i thought jeffrey put that perfectly i i don't have a ton to add to that i thought it was incredible um obviously this game came with a lot more of that but uh it's going to be very funny to make fun of um a front running fraud that is lane kiffin i mean if they lose to to to tech say in m next week like what what becomes of that like to your jeffrey said it earlier what what like there's the honeymoon in that quickly i'm not saying they will but um kiffin is not exactly a guy that is a huge rebound guy um he's usually kind of
a front runner but um anyway i don't have a ton of thoughts on that i thought that was put perfectly uh turned out chambus is a bad dude and he's he booked his trip to New York tonight and he's probably going to win the thing oh i say probably i don't know i don't know i don't know but i also say this though i know it's fun to watch your ex like speaking from experience uh when my ex got fat it's like one of the happiest days of my life like i like i i i'm being completely honest like i i understand this but my ex was also not part of my resume and part of my resume for where i was trying to go in a course of a season you should be rooting for ls you to be 11 and one and the same way that now okay as chase pointed out in the same way that you should root for little bull to go finish 11 and one and get to the acc championship game like you should be rooting
for that because in the end you have the tiebreaker because even when this committee put no to dame like ten spots ahead of my amy when they finished up next next to each other it didn't matter how many weeks they spent ranked ahead of them it didn't matter because in the end head to head is what if we only saw them play once and this team won again i understand it from a i understand it from a personal feeling and want to see them fail i'm not saying that you got the wrong idea what i am saying is if you care about your team you should be rooting for them to be good i think that probably is asking too much but i it's against it's around one who literally gonna happen like green shot of the first fat pick they saw of his axe and like was sending it to everyone like did you why didn't you'll tell me this like did you really oh yes
is a horrible person i said she finally looks on the outside like she did on the inside it took three years but can tuck you're lovable today if you had to pick the winner you think today said more about a and a on the Kentucky I think Kentucky was on the field Kentucky was on the field while my Marcel Reed was too okay yes and a and m does excuse me Kentucky didn't have a ton of talent but coming back from last week where i feel like they had a shot to beat Alabama at halftime and then just got destroyed in the second half getting back up off the mat and beating that team like that on the road is that's that's big ball stuff that's impressive for a guy in your one Neil threw that in as an extra column that is not his main one i think it is still it's still coming but i was trying to content up yeah yeah yeah uh ton of content up yeah yeah seriously ton of content up rebels 24 seven again i got the merch link down there if
