Welcome to your daily dose of hope. I'm Phyllis and I am glad you're here. Today when I talk about resourcefulness, it's something that somebody recently described me as resourceful. They're like, oh, you're really resourceful when it comes to like some of this podcast stuff. And I hadn't really thought about myself that way. So I kind of gave it some thought and realized at least the definition of the way that I'm looking at resourcefulness is just about believing that when things don't go according to plan, we have the ability to adapt or make changes. You know, look, there's so many things in life that we cannot control, right? Other people's choices, unexpected expenses, bad weather, delayed opportunities, just, you know, sudden changes in circumstances, things happen. But we're not completely powerless either, right? We can decide how we're going to use and grow our own resources, things like our time and our money, our experience,
our relationships, our talents. And being resourceful, I think, prompts us to really look at things differently instead of looking at maybe what we don't have or what we need that's lacking. Maybe we can just look at like, what do I have? How can I use what I have available to me today? You know, often we don't have big budgets, but we have the opportunity maybe to learn or skill up. Sometimes we don't have the answer and we need to ask somebody else, that's also being resourceful. And often, right, original plans have to change something happens that's going to make that plan not work out. But, you know, we can just use our experience to create a different plan or look at a different way to solve that problem. Look, we don't have to possess every single resource before we begin on something either. We can start by taking an inventory of what's available to us if we want to start a new project or look for a new job. Maybe even just start out a new workout routine, right?
We don't have to know everything. We can just start where we are. You can, we might have more options than you think. Being resourceful, it doesn't mean that you have to tackle it all yourself either or be the person in charge of everything. Sometimes being resourceful is getting a group of friends together and, you know, encouraging everybody to maybe volunteer or do something as a group. So today, I hope that you'll look for the resources that you have and just kind of identify what you can strengthen or share and what resources are really good in your life right now.
