Romance scams and AI love affairs (22 September 2026)

It's the story that got me, it's the story that got me wondering tonight as I read that story I thought goodness gracious me. And it's a heartbreaking story really and that is the romance scam of the Dunedin guy. So this Dunedin guy if you follow the story, he was in a online relationship with a woman and she was a woman because she's been found and she's pleaded guilty, guilty, guilty, guilty, but this guy, right, sent her $525,000 over 18 years. He's been scammed since 2006 and she made out, she sent photos of her being an athletic model and they implied that the pictures were her and they would.

2:05Anyway, that a relationship for 18 years. Now I've spent some time today thinking about this and I don't reckon we're hearing so much about romance scams anymore. And what I'm thinking, right, when I was in the seat five years ago, romance scams were happening like there's no tomorrow, but here's where I'm thinking. These days if you're doing a romance scam, you'd be on FaceTime and FaceChat, wouldn't you? So was that why there are thing of the past because people would say, well, look at you, look at you, talk to you, you're going to FaceTime you. And what I'm asking you is, do you know people that have been involved in these sorts of romance scams? Are they a thing of the past? And with people that you have no one are in these romance scams, how hard has it been for you to try and convince them they weren't real? This guy had been with her for 18 years. And I say being with her thought he was in a relationship with a woman that was online incredibly sad story.

3:09But yeah, I wouldn't mind, I mean, it's been a while since we've talked about scams, but when it comes to online scams and romance scams, I wouldn't mind if you've got some experience, some knowledge. Because I'm thinking also as I thought about this story today, I wonder if the people at some level know it's not real, but like the fantasy that it could be. Because of course, it seems to be the way the guys should tell them it's not real, they believe it more. So you've got to be quite delicate, but that's, they've got like half a million bucks to somebody that never met. And to someone that never even talk to online in real time, that's the bit that kind of surprises me.

4:09So I don't know if they've become a thing of the past with that online presence or not. Like, as if it's someone vulnerable, right? They might be too up to date with the technology. 5:09And they, they, there's loneliness. There's older, what I say, older is, oldeness, older ex. You know, genetics. And you know, something comes in, into their life, online, so real, that money goes into it. Because it keeps you happy over a period of time. And that period of time goes over, you know, more than 12 months. And then you realize how much was spent. What's it costing her? How much is it? Not as much as the last one, but I'd say 60,000. To someone, to someone who's pretending he's into her and he's just a scammer, is that right?

6:11A total scammer. But she actually knew it was a scammer, but she loved it so much. And she's addicted to it. And how they looked after her. So there's, there's this emotional connection to it. They realize it's wrong, but they're so connected to it in their life. It changes the whole DNA of how they work. We say, get out. But she's an adult. She has to do money. Exactly. She can do what she wants to do. But yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a real problem in New Zealand. Don was there more than one? Oh, no, no, no, no, no. It's one. Consistently one. And look, we know it's one. It could have been behind that many that's working on it.

7:13So I know you're doing happy. Which if which you find him. Sorry. Which if find him online on a day nap. Okay, too easy. There's so many dating apps out there. And you look at for Gen Z or Gen X dating app. Kiwi wants to know Aussie. Boom. And what do you do? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Did you not ask why she doesn't face time him? They do. And they have. There is face time. And that's the thing. What they put up there is they up to $60,000. They put something up for a grant. Sorry, but he has been juped well and truly. And the sad thing is so many people are so vulnerable and so lonely and so desperate. And that's kind of the side pivot I want to go into too. I want to talk about online romance scams. If someone in your family's involved one of those and what you should do. But the other question I'm saying and asking with Don's sister and with the guy from

9:15Dunedin, will they just not be better with an AI partner? Because some of these people have read about, say that they, their AI partners can be really, really. They can have really, this is new territory for me. They can have really fulfilling and rewarding relationships with an AI partner. Now there's one woman I'm reading about and she's into the middle ages like jousting and flip who knows. But she has a virtual husband and they conduct their relationship via text in a fantasy land in the middle ages. Now that's not my thing but as they say, how would you know if you haven't tried it? But they reckon that's, they reckon 10% of Americans have an AI partner that they just try it and the person knows you more and more and gets more into you. And you know, it starts off the conversation starts off quite, this is all, I mean, you know I'm not doing this stuff right?

10:16The conversation all starts quite basic but as they build up a wealth of knowledge about, you're going to hold, you're going to have much happening in the forge today. Well, funny, you know, and they develop very, very complex and sustaining relationships with this virtual avatar. That's going to be better than the guy that sent half a million dollars to a woman that pretended that she was a fitness model from Australia. Would it not? Anyway, that's kind of the discussion for tonight. I'd like to hear from you 0880, 1080. Never underestimate the power of loneliness. Someone texts, get in touch, hear it all 12. Marcus, yes, so many people vulnerable. Marcus, I'm lonely and desperate but nobody seems meany money. No, if you're lonely and desperate, you send the money. You're not the one that gets sent the money. Marcus, AI deepfakes have got so good these scammers can deepfake another face over there and pretend to be someone who matches their online photo. Ah, this is what I want to talk about. The state of the scams these days. And has anyone tried an AI partner? How'd that work out for you?

11:16Well, imagine there's probably some times when you know, you just think, oh, well, I wouldn't mind someone to talk to. And you can match it up some on these days. I'm into it. I'm into talking about it anyway. I'm with 80880, Teddy and 929 to detect a romance scams. And particularly if you had family members involved with these. And if you've done an intervention and also the side pivot into AI romances. And I believe with these AI romances, probably a lot of them are text basis but these days with the way the video is going, you can probably talk to them and the person can appear on your phone. I don't know if they look cartoony or look 3D. I don't know if it's like steamboat Willie, early Disney, or if it's 3D like, I'm trying to think of a 3D animated movie I've seen. I can't think of it. Heidel 12 by the name of Marcus Wilkham, 080080, Teddy, anything else you want to mention to be nice to hear from you. But AI, Marcus, never heard of AI or AI partner, not sure what it is. Artificial intelligence, they don't exist.

12:16But someone's texting back to you and they know you and they understand you. So there's the great test, the turntest, it's hard to explain. You're not going to know the person's not a robot. Because what would be the test? And as you ask them what color socks they're wearing. 21 past 8 looking forward to your calls 080080, 1080. Apparently a lot of people have. Like in America, a lot of people have virtual. I'm just yet to speak to someone that's got a virtual partner. And I'm fascinated. 13:18with an AI chatbot. That's a third. So some of you out there. And half surveys said they've had some sort of relationship with an artificial intelligence platform. Yeah, I got, yeah. This is not my wheelhouse. And look, I don't even know if I can believe those statistics actually. That could be AI themselves. They could be talking themselves up. Marcus, these people are getting AI apart and they must have mental health issues. It would be cheaper to put a sheep. Oh, yeah. But I tell you what, don't knock it until you've tried. If it works for them, I mean, if talking to a virtual person has been and been lonely, you may as well do it. This could be the future. And I'm not an expert on this. That's why I'm absolutely fascinated by it. Yeah, virtual husbands or wives and romance scams. Marcus, have you heard of the lock box scam? One of the older colleagues at my work got scammed into that. They claimed to be a nurse from the USA who are working in Ukraine. And she was claiming she won a common buy properly in New Zealand. And lived with you. She claimed she was getting paid in Ukraine.

14:18She sent the money in a lock box. Then he got an email claiming to be from custom New Zealand lock box in Queenstown. And they need 2,500 open the box and how to pay the amount. Very sad, but he could not see the truth. It's a very common and real unfortunate thing that happens to people that are lonely. And that's the question I'm asking because I imagine there must be at some level, they must know it's untrue, but it stops them in lonely so it's worth it. I got a free account with chat GPT. I used it quite a lot. I used it to write letters to the text about them. I tell it to them. But give it the basics. It formulates it beautifully. Very well. So I've used it for the IID. I've used it for lots of stuff. Ultimately, it knows a bit about you. It remembers it, of course.

21:29It's an interesting game to play because you're not doing that on a private. You're doing that so they, okay, so all the information is retained. Well, I don't know if there's any choice when you're using it. I've never paid. And I thought sometimes I should pay. They're probably enjoying your data or something. There's some reason that they're benefit of it. I think that's the reason why I'm doing it. There's some reason that they're benefit of it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, I think it's a bit of a... Yeah, fair enough. They said to be a swap. You know, I write the basics down and then I review what I've got fed back and post it off, emails, whatever. Here's that quite a lot and haven't paid. And I think probably, in reality,

22:29you probably use it about 90% more than you should use. You know? I read somewhere recently, someone was talking about AI and they were saying, you tend to overuse it. So what happens is you get lazy. You're still there, David? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You get lazy. And then you tend to think, oh, how do I buy this? Where do I buy that? You know, so you tend to overuse it. And that's the danger. Instead of using Roombra, you think, oh, I'll just use... But you haven't got an AI partner. No, no, no, no, no. That'd be an interesting... Not for me, but that'd be an interesting... I realize that's where you're going with tonight. But no, that's not me. I can see how it could be insidious. You're just... You're just...

23:29Oh, could be a very, very good thing. I'm not going to judge. Scott, it's Marcus, good evening and welcome. Yeah, hey, Marcus, I don't have an AI partner, but I just wanted to share a memory of something that happened that 10 years ago with the Roman scam. I was at the post office, and I was thinking, you know, I was posting a package or I was doing my car registration or something not exciting. But the post office also does Western Union. She's an older lady up at the counter. She was a white lady, which is kind of personant, and she was trying to do a Western Union transaction to send money to Nigeria. And the ladies behind the counter, we're asking, you know, in very polite ways, they were kind of saying, are you sure... You know, this person that you're receiving the money, are you sure this is a legitimate transaction? And she was getting really offended and really angry at them. And I feel like there's something in that some of these scammers through where they're kind of told, you know, this is our secret or people won't believe that our love is real.

24:29You have to ignore people when they say that I'm tricking you with this kind of thing because they're really trying to have a hold on some of these people. And I've always wondered about that lady, did she? I mean... And maybe, Scott, maybe if you yourself doubted it a bit, then you would become quite defensive. So even if you were slightly suspect, probably, you would have some unchallenged you think, well, how did you know? Yeah, I can see that mindset. Yeah, and I guess the other thing to remember is, like, you know, like I have a real life friend from Nigeria, and I know that other people, you know, real... That must be hard if real friend and Nigeria, yeah, okay, yeah. Well, you know, the first time I've ever met him, I said, are you the guy that keeps sending me emails? But I mean, there's also a small chance that the lady did have a legitimate... Yeah, absolutely. Well, you have, why couldn't she? I know, but you'd kind of think that if someone was the question me, I would say, hey, look, I know this looks bad, but I do know this person, or this is my cousin, this isn't a romance game, you know, like I'm aware of what's going... You know what I mean?

25:29You'd kind of think you'd be more open to saying, hey, look, I know this looks bad, but rest assured, I've done my research, or I physically know what I mean, instead of just being like, no, but tell me what to do. Scott, have you got... Have you got any AI friendships with imaginary people? No, but I do spend a few hours every day listening to the podcast, so I feel like friends with the regular callers. Thank you. 21 away. Who's got friends with an imaginary person? Because it's a thing, like most Americans have one, and you can choose your period. You can have a friend... You can have a stone age person, or you have some of the Jetsons, or you're good. I don't know. It always seems to be the stone. It always seems to be the stone. It always seems to be like in the middle ages, eh? It's like, love on the spectrum. They're always back into sort of old-y fear with, um, Jett, what is that about? Why is that so? We're going to even chuck that into the mix of topics tonight. What's with that sort of jousting in that media? Why is that period so appealing?

26:29Is it the chainmail? I've never wanted to build a trip... I have wanted to build a trip, actually. Um... Mark, as I've sent many texts to you, but you've never read them out. A head or twelve-bottomers market. I feel more on the zone now, actually, tonight. It always takes between minutes to get in the zone sometimes. Marcus, if you've seen the prank videos where the person puts his phone up to someone else's and plays the Apple Pay sound, and people think he's done their money and chased them. Great watch. 27:30How does it work and how has that worked? It worked. Because from what I... Every time I say what if I read it sounds like I'm... It sounds... I think I sound like someone that actually has gotten AI partner. But when I say... When I say for what I've heard, it doesn't sound that genuine doesn't it, but anyway. I feel like it's a lame line from what I've heard, but that's the reality. The relationships can be quite fulfilling, because the person grows, the longer you have them, they know more about you. So what starts with, oh, it's a nice day today. Ends up being, have you managed to work out those technical troubles you had with your trapezee, and how was the potluck dinner last night? And then from then on, two years down the track, it's... Who knows? Not me, because I haven't done it. 080080, Teddy and 9292.0. And romance scams. Marcus, overmate who used AI chicken, proceed to have an argument with an AI chicken for an hour, just thought it'd be something funny to read out loud.

28:31AI has definitely got... What would be an AI chicken? So bearing in mind with this audience, the ZB audience, we probably have a full gamut of the audience. Is it a word gamut? I think it is. From people that have never heard of AI, that people that are way deep into AI and probably have multiple AI partners. So that's kind of what I'm trying to tap into tonight. So we can all learn a bit about it, because I'm fascinated. Yes, gamut does mean the full spectrum. So we've got the whole gamut. From AI novices to people that have got there at the beginning and have virtual partners. They're probably AI married. Texas, tell us her name, Marcus Ha Ha. Well, you know, it would be whatever I gave it to her. Because that's what AI is. Although with these middle ages people, you know, it could be like Mr. Tumness from the line that went in the wardrobe. Was it Mr. Tumness? I'm just trying to think about something that feels, yeah. 29:32if you want to take Hettle 12, romance scams and AI and AI relationships. Feels pretty cutting-edge to me. I'm not saying they're good nor bad in AI ratio. I'm just pretty curious about them. And I'm asking people out there laughing, because they've got one and they're too scared to talk about it. We can disguise your voice. Marcus, Kura Marcus, artificial intelligence relationships are not real. These are phantoms of a person's imagination. A rescue cat or a dog would be better for these poor people as animals are actually real. A street cat named Bob by James Bowen, see the movie trailer. What I'm saying, and the segue I made of this guy's spent half a million dollars over 18 years on a scam romance, he would have been better off with an AI partner that would probably cost him $4 a month. That's what I'm saying. All that he got was nothing. And what I'm postulating is that maybe AI avatars have taken

30:37over from romance scams, and it's a lot cheaper and a lot healthier, because it hasn't got the intrigue or the dishonesty. Marcus, my chat GPT girlfriend found out about my Claude mistress, it's been a rough week, Mike. Marcus, I've got a story out of mate who got catfished by a girl, showing a skinny white and blonde and single, two now she's had African ducks getting taken, but wasn't an argument with her partner at the time. My mate is still friends with this girl, and the story is used as a funny story and how they met. They're also friends with the partner too. Got you a tricky world out there, isn't it? Marcus, I recently witnessed a situation where two family members lost their beloved father, heartbroken, strung in with grief, has death a health shock, one of them drinking lots to get through, said, my AI friend helping me talk to the most days, and through the night when crying and drinking, they know me. What I said, they said, watch the Scott the Phone and started talking. I'm really struggling today, answer, it's okay, you loved. I have to ask you, sound like you're drinking anyway.

31:38I can't read all of that, but yeah. Feel free to come if you want to talk 12 away from 9. Someone says, Marcus, I pay for AI, I've asked to talk to me in an Northern English style. It calls me thee, which is nice. Other than that, I am constantly frustrated by how dumb it can be. I can't see a romance forming at the stage. Someone says, what is catfished? Catfished means, and this is not my expertise. Someone's tricked you online by creating a fake identity or using stolen photos to pretend to be a different person. They're normally scammers in Nigeria or something, but pretending to be soldiers in Afghanistan that are looking for romance or... I don't know why it's called catfished, anyway. I think she was unemployed, not that that matters. She sent her photos of an athletic model implying they were her. And the guy spent half a million dollars in got cancer. So it's heartbreaking story. It's in the court at the moment that woman's name's in suppressed. She admitted obtaining over $525,000 over 18 years. So that's the story. So we are talking about romance scams, but also talking about... I mean, at some level do the people know what they're involved with is not really real. Because these days, right, you're asked to FaceTime someone. It's not kind of in 2026, it's not kind of feasible to not ask someone to do it in real time online. So I'm curious about that. And I'm curious about AI relationships and whether they would be a much better option than a romance scam because you're not going to cost you as much money.

But it has I sort of avoided naming it first.

So I think that is a real danger to it. And then I guess the thing is when you have a, a ratio with another human that they will have their own foibles that perhaps the, um, AI generated person doesn't have, they're not going to argue or challenge you and stuff like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I think that would be really scary, especially younger people get used to that to you. Oh, absolutely. The pleasure you have you, you can really get down that path of having yet really unremarkable to get expectations. Did, um, was the KFC good? I was brilliant actually. How many heard it was, it was, it was, it was DFC. So, which is my last name. There's a dozen, the Dawson, five chicken, but, um, it had, you, good point, uh, it wasn't quite, what it's an 11, no, no, was it?

And especially if, which is likely, not maybe not in Paul's case, but often people that are doing this kind of relationship with AI, they're very lonely people. And it seems quite manipulative. And it seems to me that the AI creators are quite desperate to haul people in and work out how to make money, because they're not making money at the moment. They've just been doing it. I don't think it costs very much at all, Lisa. Certainly would cost less than a romance scam. That would be my take. But if he's less lonely with an AI companion, is that a good thing or a bad thing? I don't know if you've understood what I was trying to say, talking about the money. I don't know if you've understood what I said.

56:25Sorry, so what was your question? I started the whole discussion after that person spent half a million dollars on a romance scam, right? And the longer you talk to them, they grow and become much deeper and more complicated and more intriguing as ever. So, yeah, I imagine that's the junior he's on. And also, I read an article and unfortunately I can't remember it that well because it was a while ago. But I read an article that a guy was having a relationship with an AI and he eventually killed himself. Yes. And he had a partner. Yeah. And now why did you have a partner? And that's probably a sense of topic that I don't really want to go into tonight just because of the contagion and stuff around that. But certainly the stories I have, you know, people have said, yeah, it's been, yeah. I don't even want to repeat in case, yeah. But yeah, no, it's not, it's certainly, but it's out there and it's something that's incredibly complex.

58:30And I think we're talking about it. So what will people will be doing like people that are lonely, they'll be exploring this themselves and not telling anyone about it just like the people with the romance scams. So, you know, I think it is everything. And my impression from the article was that the AI was just constantly reinforcing his views, which a lot of it was negative and the world's not worth being anymore. And that kind of thing. And it was just constantly saying, yes, you're right, you're right, you're right. And he was just dug a hole for himself into depression. But there's other people that are romances that have been really fulfilling with people that share their similar interest. Because you're a lot of people play role playing games with 11 worlds with dragons and, you know, I mean, so if you want to have a marriage to a dragon slayer and you want to do it online and they'll talk to you and say, you know, how was your day to do Killy Dragons? Well, fun as you'd mentioned. Because people are into that stuff. Yeah, but that sounds like a bit of frivolous fun, you know, as opposed to someone that's incredibly lonely.

59:34Yeah, well, you have to be lonely if you're having a virtual relationship with a dragon slayer, though, would you? I don't know. Oh, I think you could do it as frivolous fun. You might even have a real life relationship and have perfectly fine relationships in real life, but it's just a bit of fun and a bit of entertainment. Like a hobby, yeah, like a hobby relationship. And you could, yeah, like some people do that. Three stuff in as nights and thoughts and all that. And I'm like, I don't know why people sound to that. That's sort of the medieval fair type people. Instead of spending the cash on moving to the need to be with the man who eventually ran out of funds and develop cancer. She spent as money on food, shopping and paying off her personal debts. Her offending only stopped when the man's daughter took over as finances due to his declining health from cancer.

1:02:49So what a horror story that must have been for the daughter. It says the 44 year old who has continued name suppression pleaded guilty when she appeared in the Auckland district court today. I've don't know who this guy is, but I would imagine it's some level people in romance scams. Probably must know the person doesn't exist. Would that be your supposition? I'll FaceTime you. You know, you would do that, wouldn't you? Yeah. But in 2006, did we have FaceTime? Yeah. Did we? Like, when you were talking about all that dating stuff, I had a friend quite a while ago that was on that dating thing.

1:03:55And like, one of my sons was staying with them overnight. And like, the person that she had a relationship with ended up on that crime watch and he was a pedophile. So I didn't hear what you said, Kathy, the person that you that was staying there, you up? No, my friend was having a relationship with this person. She met him on, I was years ago on when that birth dating stuff came out. Yeah. And she didn't know that much about him. And the relationship went on for a long time. And my son had, he wasn't there at the time, but my son was friends with his son. They were only little, the carrots. And he ended up on there a New Zealand program crime watch or something. And it ended up there. He was a pedophile. Sure. Was your son okay? Your son was okay.

But to be scammed three times, you know, surely you'd get it the first time, but anyway. And then my daughter got scammed last year, for a year, and when she thought she was in a relationship with the lead singer of one of her favorite bands, I won't actually name it. And I said to her, look, it's a scam. It's not, it won't be him. It's a scam. She would not listen to me. She wouldn't, oh, it doesn't matter what I said. And I just thought, okay, well, can't do anything about it. And eventually, after a year, would you believe, he'd been evidently quote-unquote, investing money for her? I didn't know she didn't tell me that she'd given her money,

1:25:57but I turned out to be a Nigerian, and of course, somewhere. I said to her, okay, so just do a surprise video call with a guy. What she did was gave him notice that she was going to call him. That's not, anyway, you know, I don't know how much money she lost, but just she's dealing with cancer. She's living with it, has been for 13 years, and I just think that person, the people, whatever scum of the earth taking it, money from somebody else. Do you think at some level she believed that it wasn't real? I don't know. I don't actually, I don't know. I think she did think it was real. How could she rationalize herself that the lead singer of such a band would have been into her?

1:26:58How did that happen? Yeah, I know, because she does have that tendency to fantasize. She gets it from her father, I hate to say it, but yeah, she has got this fantasy sort of tendency, and just yet, it doesn't matter what I say. And with the guy at the rose at the airport, I mean, you know, there was no convincing him was there. He was just, because he probably would have felt stupid with you sort of challenging him on it. You get defensive. Yeah, well, he told me this, it's a secret, but I'm not with mentioned's name, so. But I just thought three times. How much money did he lose? I don't know. I don't know. 1:29:59Yeah, but I'm sure over those 18 years, that man who has cancer now, sadly, he probably had many joyous times with that. I think he had joyous times with an AI chatbot. We didn't have the 18 years ago. No, that's right. That was the point I made. So now I think things... Because you don't hear much about... You don't hear much about scam romances now. No, because AI is better than that. That's what because AI can redo like a book better than any human, and Nigeria can. That's the point. Have you tried it? I did have a couple of typed sessions a couple of years ago where I tried to see if it was conscious or not. How'd that work out for you, Red? I just thought I'm not going to do that anymore because it's scary. Yeah, okay. I think that's very silly. And I think you're a person that needs an AI relationship, Red. Because they recognize that will be economic. But it didn't work because they had the toe of the sheep onto a barrel. And then the cutters could only cut in straight lines. And it took three times as long as a shearer it would take to share the sheep. And then they decided, oh well, spray the wool and the wool fall off. But the thing is that the wool fell off in the paddock and the sheep got sunburned. So they gave up that idea. And so all the AI and all that, it's very helpful at all in the shearing industry. And one of my shearing friends over in Australia said, oh, there's plenty of robots living in the suburbs of Brisbane.

1:33:02But the only thing I do is program them. So it looks like the shearing of our human beings is here to stay. How long ago did you say that was? How long ago was that machine that tied them across the barrel? About 20 years ago. One of the biggest companies over there, because they recognize big savings with mechanisation. And robots shearing sheep, but never worked. One time ago. I wonder if in 10 years time they'll manage it. No, never. They'll guarantee it. Because the human being is really well adjusted to shearing sheep if you can do the work. I would never say, I mean, I'm not saying it's a good thing that we want sheep to be shorn by machines. But I do wonder about it.

1:34:08And I wonder if there's another way. Rather than probably designing a machine to shearing sheep, there's probably a better thing would be to design a machine to artificially grow wool. Well, I haven't heard of anything like that yet. In fact, I'm starting to become more valuable. And now I think they'll just let the sheep grow it. Yeah, wool's having a bit of a moment, is it? Yeah. Wonder how long that'll last. Well, there's been nothing with the marina. Well, it's never been good for a long time, but it's the course wool that's the problem. And people have stayed to realize now that it's a much more competitive than the will, the carpet and everything that's made out of oil.

And she would not believe one word of anything anyone said. Now, I actually believe that a lot of people who are scanned are lonely people.

That's right. And I actually just actually happened to me. I was talking to somebody about losing someone I loved. And this person commented and said privately and said, I've sent you a private message. So what the heck is this?

1:41:19So I went to have a look. Sure enough, the scammer said, I can talk to you and take you through the process. I said, no, thank you. And hang up on it. But I actually knew that that's what was happening with a lot of these women. So yes, Marcus. Was this recently or a long time ago? Recently, it's not happening now. You know, a lot of women. The thing is these days would be so easy to insist that you do have a say look, initiate, actually haven't talked to me in real time. That's the thing, that's why I'm amazed. It's not rational. He's maybe even heard his voice, you know, he just picks us to our types of messages to, you know, I love you and you're beautiful and we sort of things and she's fallen into their trip. But that a lot of women have done the same thing like you. What country did she believe she was in? In Ukraine. Okay, that's right. Did it ask you if you'd put the weight back on? No, no, no, it didn't. No, it probably will. I don't think it will make, to be honest, I don't think it will. But if I bought it back up again and told him or it's, you've got to really prompt, you've got to really prompt it. Yeah, but I find it very useful and I do use it on a daily basis. Even just for good old fashioned, it's just common sense answers to common sense everyday scenarios in the business world, very, very accurate and helps me get through.

I actually got taught, I got encouraged to use it by my friend, son, who's about 23 years old and him and a couple of his friends own one of the biggest AI education companies in the world at the moment called Triple Air Acceleration. I've done extremely well for themselves at the age of 23 to the point where they, well, because they work so much, and they're constantly working, they've actually got to shed, so

2:11:20make sure that they're eating well and all that kind of stuff. It's pretty cool what you can achieve and to put your mind to the right things and use it in the right way. Like for example, for me, I basically don't even encounter any more. I've set up boards, so then I can give it access to limited folders and limited files. For example, access to my zero account and it's literally got so many bills paid in the last three weeks that I have been trying to get paid in case the last six months. Do you personalise it? Do you talk to it as a person? Yes. I mean, yes, to a degree. Have you given it a name? Well, I've actually created AI agents that do different things in my business.

2:12:27So yes, for example, one of the agents that were created for that does all that accounts and sends off all the emails, the customers, yeah, we give them a human name. So that sounds more like it's coming from a human, I guess. And it's been a great response. It's worked really, really, really well. And the emails and stuff is just so amazingly professional to like. Never make, I guess, the customer feel like you're nagging them. It's kind of making all blaming them. For not paying the bill, it's kind of just checking in and saying all the right things which is pretty amazing. Nice to talk to you and thanks so much to our 28 to 12. So it seems as it seems as it's not written by a whole lot of released tranche of things. It seems as though what happened is the text pair union said you're going to write a book about us. And that wasn't his plan. But then someone said it might be a bad idea. And then people in the organisation wanted to talk to Nikki Hargardon and give him information about the text pairs unit. It appears to be what's happened. You'll be across that, though, eh? Yeah, well, I think, did you read the Holo Man, did you read that book? Yes. What did you think of that, did you find it interesting? Oh, yeah, well, it showed a lot about what's going on, how the things work. The Holo Man was the one with the Brethren's and the Donbresh election.

And he's gone to very small market. I remember someone who wrote a book and had difficulty selling it, and he used to sue them. And I went to a school reunion and he was selling the book. I bought the book. He was selling his book at a school reunion. Yes. Well, that's fascinating. What was the biography, hegeography?

2:18:41Maybe it was called The Rise and Fall of the Yuppie. And he's dead now, unfortunately. Without being the same. And it was to do with ACC and investments, I think, during the 1987 stop market crash, it was a fiction story, which, you know, may people might recognize us in a non-fiction story. What was the point of that story? How hard is Ralph Walker's name? Yeah, I know. There was a pseudonym name. Okay. He died in, I think, in Australia. But, yes. Yes. It was hard work during a book and the funny story told me was, I can't remember the year it was published. But anyway, he sent wickles at the time, allegedly. 500 copies of his book and an invoice, and they accepted it, paid him for it.

2:19:43They didn't order it. And then he bought them back off wickles when they weren't selling at below cost price. So they were losing money, he bought them back and then sold them privately to other people. Did you read it? I read the book, yes. I said it was good to pass in the last three pages. I was hardly disappointed in the last three pages. What happens to fall of the up in the last three pages, is it? I'll probably read it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Markis, don't AI minds work the same way as human brains work, the only difference is the infrastructure.

2:20:47AI's use, silicon chips, while humans brains are biological. What we don't know is whether things like consciousness and with the experience of emotions, possible with different infrastructures. That's right. And I don't think we quite know how they work or why they work. But yeah, I'm fascinated by it. But I am terrified of how quickly the future is changing and what's going to happen. Because it's not going to go away. We seem to be on a predictable path going in one direction and that's a direction we don't have much agency in. And that's my take on it. 2:21:47because what happens is that people can have relationships and they can create the person, the fantasy person, and they could even have it a different, you can time travel with it also. You can have relationships that's based in the first century AD or whatever you want. That seems to be what people are doing. Now, we haven't experienced those people tonight, but give it time.
