And with that, we are back in the lobby bar for the week of September the 7th, 2026, Brian and Michaela with you. And we are well into September now. Michaela, you are, you are traveling. You are on the road again. It's like earlier this year when you're calling in from your Texas digs. That's where you're at. Now it's a little hotter this time around. But that's okay. That's okay. We're into fall. So fall flavors. Beware. We're coming. We're coming. We are coming. You know, it is, it is seven days after the first of September. And it should be cooler than it is right now all over the world. Like everywhere, not, not just not just where you are and not just where I am. It's 85 already this morning. But we're going to will, we're going to will fall into existence. We are going to will fall. Yeah, absolutely. Let's do it. Let's, let's get that fall feelings in the

1:03year. Some bonfires and stuff. No, you can't do that. So I was watching, I was not really watching, but I checked out the football scores and I looked out seven windows like 114 degrees or something. Like guys like this is a football, football time. Like I open Ohio, football times like cold, like a risk of snow, like bonfires, pumpkins, all that stuff. We're getting, we're getting into it today, though, because I have a fall cocktail for everyone. And it is pretty simple. I grabbed off of liquor.com because I was looking for something, something follow Jason. And the name of this came up. It's maple old fashioned. I'm like, okay, that's, that's good. That's simple. That's nice flavor of the year. But here on liquor.com, they swapped out the bourbon for some dark rum. And that got my wheels spinning because, because yeah, everyone, you say the word rum. And you think like tropical, like beach time and things like that. But now I think like dark rum or more specifically aged rum. I'm like, no, that's like a, that's like a false people right there. I think. Oh, yeah. Yeah. That viscosity and kind of the sweetness that rum has. It probably lends itself really well to things like maple syrup and candied apples and candy corn. Maybe not candy corn.

2:07But all the things that fall. I mean, trash can once it's self to candy corn. That's a discussion for another day right there. McIntla has threatened me with the candy corn martini a time or two. But I always put the kabash on it. Let us know down in the comments. If we should let one of those slide through maybe well this year. I don't know. But today we're letting slide through a maple old fashioned. This is simple. If you've ever made it old fashioned, it goes together exactly like that. It's going to be a couple of ashes of Angus for a bitters. Half ounce of maple syrup. That's swapping in for either your sugar cube or like your simple syrup. Use a good quality one, but whatever you got, go ahead and do that. And then two ounces of your dark rum. Like I said, I like an age from right here in this specifically something that is nice to sit on. But yeah, the rum, the maple syrup, the rum already has kind of like this maple. You slant to it. The Angus for is nice. You could also use like an orange bitter. That would be good. You know, really kind of deal a choice however you wanted to do that. But I wanted to, yeah, bring this recipe up because dark rum is a good flavor for fall, I think. Okay, well, you've had your year of bourbons. Maybe now is your year of rum bourbon drinks. What do you think?

3:11Oh, I like it. I like it. Maybe not a whole year. This is going to be my rum season. How about that fall season of rum? Yeah, it's definitely not all rum season's a rum. Yes, all the things seasons of the of the lumberjack. It's going to be great. It's going to be great. You know, lumberjack is really just a pirate on land, I feel like a land pirate. Okay. I don't know about all that. I'm not that familiar with the art of lumberjacking and or and or in or pirating. But I digress out of this. Let's talk about some movies. I hear a little bit. We got a couple of new things to come out. So I want to make sure we mention those. But here's the holiday weekend. Happy Labor Day. If you're listening from the US here. So hopefully that's going good. If you have a good Labor Day, can a recipe if you're doing any sort of get together. I just know about that. But if you're going out to see a movie, it is probably Spider-Man brand new day. Still leading the way. These numbers are a little preliminary for the holiday weekend because that is just wrapping up today. But a Spider-Man brand new day another 23.3 million dollars in the bank. The Odyssey, Coyote versus Acme.

4:16The new film by any means coming in fourth place with just over nine million dollars and then in city as out the further. So nothing crazy major to talk about there. I think we are finally going to get a Spider-Man brand new day out of the top slots next weekend because we do have some things coming out. One of these we're going to be talking about on the podcast. The others we may or may not be talking about on Patreon. It just depends on if we get a chance to see them now that the fall schedules are setting in. We're going to try to watch the first one of these and definitely talk about that on Patreon. I think. But the sequel to practical magic is coming out this week. Practical magic parts to Michaela. I've never seen this. But people are really practical magic. It's one out there. It has kind of a same kind of like fan following is something like the craft and stuff like a hoax pocus. It seems like a you know this has kind of that same kind of feverish cult following you know once you get into a little bit of spooky times. Yeah, it's it's kind of this strange familial romantic comedy dark magic kind of duo and you have Sandra Bullock and.

5:25I was going to see how long it could get there. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman they're back. They look exactly the same. I'm telling you they they're not witches. They're actually vampires. But it's it's been I don't know 30 years or some craziness and we saw practical magic one and it kind of took the world by storm. It's something that you I feel like the same people that loved hoax pocus also love practical magic. I only saw once so I'm going to definitely have to revisit it to understand what's going on in practical magic to probably. But I am excited about it because it's always nice to see kind of you know everybody get back together in a in a in a duo you know that it looks like. Diane we used to back it looks like the ones who play like the old aunties are back as well so that's kind of neat. I don't know what shenanigans are going to get into this time probably another potion that makes them look 25 I don't know.

6:25There you go absolutely so practical magic to is coming out the weekend that's probably going to be the big one. We also have the film the uprising coming out we saw the previous for this this looks pretty good now it's getting a ton of advertising as seems like every time I turn around or turn on another podcast. Or the TV or anything it has a commercial for the uprising or making a big push for this this one stars Andrew Garfield is allegedly based on the story that Robin Hood is based on. So I don't know I don't know like how many ties of like the Robin Hood mythology that are going to try to make in this. This is directed by Paul Greengrass who is a pretty good director has done some things I think was nominated for an Academy Award for United 93. He's done a couple of other things that have been pretty good right like a like a nice like a B plus type of things so I think that this probably going to fall into that realm as well uprising. Michaela any interest in this I know you love an Andrew Garfield but as a schedule too busy for this are we're going to go see this we're going to go see this we're absolutely. I don't think that this was even on the calendar so and now it's full so get over.

7:32Now we're definitely going to we're definitely going to cover this I have a feeling this has a lot of the same look and feel that Braveheart did as far as like one man against the entire government in like 800 the year 800 the year of our Lord 800 against England so I'm excited to see what. What is done with it because it has the potential to be really great Andrew Garfield is a talent unto himself will see. We'll see there you go absolutely another one we will be going to see because a we flew all the way to Chicago to see these guys so I would just drive up the road to the movie theater we have the documentary don't look back and anger which is about the band oasis and kind of their reunion coming back together for that tour that should be pretty good. I'm just getting a lot of good buzz here the feedback I think it got like I don't know like a 8 minute long standing ovation they always say it doesn't really mean everything everything always gets a super long standing ovation it's just something that happens there so there you go so that is what's coming out this weekend looking forward to that I'm hopefully it cools off a little bit I think NFL starts this week too so it's going to be a busy week but watching things for people out there and hopefully it's been a busy week of everyone out in podcast land here listening get now to see some movies maybe one of those movies was the dog stars.
