2:01Maybe. Maybe. All right, John. How fast can you AI make both of those players just move like this? Yeah. Cowboys got beat. So that was fun. I had a great time. And then I got home in the country of Brazil. I think it was Brazil. I think the country Brazil was mad at me. The country? Yeah, the whole country. What happened? Dude tagged me from some account, cowboy account in Brazil. And it was my fault. And like four or five other media people's fault. He's like, you full of it. You lied to me and like, oh, raging. Oh, raging. Okay. And I was like, what's in I actually responded. I said, what's happening? And then I think it calmed down because he was acknowledged. And he was like, I live in Brazil. I'm not a camp. You tell me what's happening. You told me they would be better. They are not. I blame you. And I was like, you know what? Matters. I mean, we're one week in, but that's fair.

3:02And so now I have no choice. But to transfer his rage at me, I have to deflect that at the team and the coaching step. Right. Because y'all tricked me through one week. Okay. And now, now we have to go back to this happens every year, turns out training camp means nothing. And you think you're going to learn some stuff. And then they play real football and you go, oh, none of that mattered at all. This is a whole different sport they're playing out here. And nothing matters. And I have no idea if they're good. Number one week, I have now established that until further notice, the Cowboys defense, you suck. You are the exact same as a year ago. Uh oh. And I told people you were better coached and you had better players. And the results you got on the field was actually worse than last year's defense. I mean, if you just go points per game, you'd be like, oh, 28 versus 30, they were actually

4:03better. But when you go into nerd stuff, this would have been the second worst defensive game. The Cowboys played last year. And you were playing the giants. And so I just want to apologize to everyone also. I just want to blame you with this. You called them bum one. I did call them bum one. I like to apologize to the giants. Right now the Cowboys are bum one. And I hope the commanders are bum two. And we can at least get that one. Yeah. So that everybody can feel okay heading into the regular football games because I do like we talked about this last night. I was impressed by the giants. I think offensively the plan, the way Jackson Dart played the way they dominated the line of scrimmage. A lot of things about what the giants did as football analyst man. I liked it. I was like, damn, that actually looks good. What they're doing looks good in the kick. But I still don't think they'll be a good team. Like I think that teams won seven or eight games because they got this one. It was going to be six or seven. But now it's seven or eight because they got this one jerks. I still think they're going to be a good team.

5:04And so I think that does it makes it look worse on the Cowboys because I still don't believe that the giants are going to go win 10 or 11 games. And the giants might end up like the Saints. Remember last year, yeah, two years ago, two years ago last year, last year with Schuck, first year of Schuck. Remember the Saints, they had the parade outside the stadium. They came in here and two years ago, whatever it was, they whipped the Cowboys. The Derrick Car game, right? Huh? It was the Derrick car scene. Don't ask me memory questions. Yeah. Oh, remember the Saints whooped the Cowboys? Then they went and lost eight in the row, nine in the row. Yeah, yeah. And we were like, oh, wait, they might be good on the way this way. It was like, dude, they sucked. And they absolutely sucked. But it doesn't matter because they got that one. And people, we talk about the whole America's team, not America's team, people get up for the Cowboys. They get up for the Cowboys. And they made, they made Lea egg next week. Everything that we thought Jackson, Dark Wells and how he matured and the defense was this for them, the offensive, the guys that we thought we were going to be able to abuse

6:06up front of their offensive line. Oh, the Cinderella carriage turns back into a pumpkin. That's tough. The beautiful dress turns back into rags and the clock strikes 12. And it could possibly be that. But for the Cowboys, it's one of those losses that we'll look back at in December and we'll go, look at this giant team. They got three wins. And now we're fighting for a playoff spot and we got to look back and go, we lost to these bombs in week one. Yeah. That's what we're going to do. Gregory and the chat said, giant's fumbled three times and interception that was dropped and something, something, something, something. And yeah, oh, you guys act like they played a great game, calm down. Yeah. You guys? They'll could have won this game. Like if when down smokes dark, the left guard doesn't accidentally end up with the ball. Maybe that changes the game. If when scatterbue fumbled later, if he doesn't recover his own fumble, maybe you win that

7:08game. It doesn't change what happened throughout that game, which is that they went. Went out to Poodie poo at the line of scrimmage offensively, which is something that I didn't think they could do. Yeah. I have a track record of the giant's offensive line left guard center right tackle right tackle man left guard center bad. That's who they've been throughout their careers. And for one day, Kenny Clark got whooped. Yeah. I won't say that Quinty got whooped. I won't say that Tito got whooped. But as a collective unit, they won the line of scrimmage. I'll give you the I'll give it an X gen stats since a quarter of the next gen sex rookie giant rookie right guard Francis or CC whatever they call them. Maui know what allowed zero pressures on 36 pass blocks. The most blocks without allowing a pressure by our work rookie and weak runs since 2018.

8:08His primary matchup was defensive tackle Kenny Clark becoming the first player since week 16 of 2023 to hold Clark without a pressure on 19 or more matchups. Yeah, you ain't supposed to get well. And I will say for a rookie, you should get something that was O lineman number one in the draft court in the Jeff, like Maui know what can play. But in his first NFL game, he's not supposed to go toe to toe with Kenny Clark and whoop him. That's not that's not supposed to happen. So yeah, the Cowboys weren't ready and we can work our way through it one by one by one by one by one. And I'll have like I got stuff on offense and I got stuff about the offensive coaching. I do believe that overall that side of the ball is fine. Will be fine. Will be good. Will be great. I believe that. Uh, even in that game, Cowboys had seven drives. This court 20 points should have been 21, but Juventus did something dumb and then Brandon

9:09Robert missed an extra point that was long, extra point. 20 points on seven drives would have led the NFL last year and points per drive. You would have been the best offense and football points per drive with what the Cowboys did. They just never had to ball because your defense gave up eight minute touchdown drives every time the other team had to ball. So it's very reminiscent of last year and I don't want to do last year again. Right. I don't want to do last year again. And I don't want to let the offense all the way off the hook because George Pickens can't do it. You just can't do it. CDs done it last year like in the at the Eagles game. And now George did it in the Giants game. Like those are those are your plays. You with one guy covering you on a fly route where that's your play. That was a, when they say a butterfly with broken legs is the way that that ball landed with what golfers say. Uh, like that. That was a 40 yard handoff. Yeah. Perfect. You're supposed to go get a hundred billion dollars when the season's over.

10:11Yeah. Could you please make the play you're supposed to make? And that was one of two drops. So I, I, you want you to go all over the place with who disappointed you in this game and what a let down it was. I'm, can I start at the top? You start the top. I'm going to start the top. Start at the top. For me, this, a lot of this because attitude reflects leadership, right? This is on this captain. It starts with Brian shot inheimer. This starts with Brian shot inheimer. And, and I say that because one, let's start first, you didn't bring a new special teams coordinator in here. Nope. Your team was one of the worst starting field position teams in the national football league in 2025. Yeah. We saw the same thing Sunday night football. You still aren't getting good field position with the return game that you get in the special teams unit. And secondly, your team came out flat. There was no energy. There was no excitement. It's Sunday night football.

11:11You've been waiting all training camp all year long that held the song even says it. Been waiting all, that's for Monday night, but wait no day for Sunday night for Sunday night. Sunday Monday, Monday night. Your team came out flat. And then having the opportunity as the head coach slash offensive coordinator, you set an absolute horrible tone. I told, I mentioned this right after we got out of the training camp after the 53. I said, shot inheimer and this Cowboys team is unsure about the offensive line. A lot of people in the chat and online gave me hell about what do you mean? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, all this other kind of stuff. It is fourth and inches. Let's set the tone early on. You told me that this team was going to be physical. You told me that that you were going to have rolled graders up front and that you were

12:13going to dominate the line of screaming. This has been the tone that you have been talking about all training camp long. Fourth and inches and you pulled out that same old lame. Stired, terrible, hood, hood. See if you can get them jump off sides. We're calling that the shoddy hard camp and then you take fire and you pun it. Yeah. You took the tone was set right there. The tone was set right there and how I know that you don't believe in your offensive line. There were two plays in this game that let me know that you weren't sure. That was one of them. And then you fast forward to where it's third and goal and your inches from the touchdown. You decide we're going to throw a low percentage 25 yard fadeball that way. Good ball. Great ball. Probably offensive PI, but we're glad they didn't call it. Could have 100% have been offensive PI. Glad they didn't call that touchdown. But that's what your mindset was.

13:15That again, that is setting the tone. I found upon it when they said it in training camp. I thought it was a dumb idea. Goddy. Goddy. You don't believe Goddy. You don't believe Goddy. Well, he didn't come up with it. You are part of it. That they're an extension of you. You don't believe in that. No one come off the field and say no, let's go for it. Fourth and inches. The tone was set then. It was set right there. And you got bullied. You got bullied. There was no other way around it. We laughed. We and I said, you me us. We laughed. You say we we us. I mean, we laugh when Greg Newsom said. We got the best DB in the room. Oh, yeah. And they still they don't. They still don't. They held what many of us us included.

14:19The best offensive why receiver do in the league held them to under a hundred yards combined. Kind of. No, not kind of. No, I mean, I'm down to I'm down to not kind of on the Cowboys today. What were the P.I. Yards like they got the cowboys. Those corners got smoke. The cowboys didn't the cowboys didn't have one explosive play over 20 yards. Those cow those corners got smoke. The cowboys did not have one explosive play over 20 yards. Your top two receivers dropped three balls, four balls total. Jords had two CD have one. Two and one. Yeah, three. Yeah. Yeah. Can't have that. No, you can't have that. No, that doesn't make those corners good. Those corners. No, no, I'm not saying that makes it good, but it but they said it and you didn't make them pay for it. That's true. They said it and you didn't make them pay for it and it was Greg Newsom. It was banks. It was hood. It was a pull Phillips is a nickel guy.

15:21Yeah, and the deep. Like these aren't guys we look at and we go. We didn't exploit these guys. We didn't make these guys look like poo poo to them. Guess what they do when they were in their DB room in their defensive room. I know a DB zoo they pretend they played well. Check. We we held which I'll consider the best duo in the league to under 100 yards combined. Yeah. Under 10 catches combined under 100 yards combined and they had one touchdown. Yeah. They checked that in the DB room. I know they do, but that's because DB's are goofy. You know that. I'm just telling them right now going. Yeah. Right. I'm saying, well, that's how the PIs you gave up 240 yards of them dudes. Y'all got smoked. You're lucky that our defense sucked. Off is what office wasn't great either. 18:23This is the DLS Cowboys podcast day after the Cowboys spit the bit if you will against the New York Giants starts season one. We're going to do a better job against bum two. Did not check the box against bum one. Bum one made the Cowboys bum one. So we're what's bigger than what's more bum than bum one. That's us right now. But next week you can change that when you beat bum two and get the same back on track. But I want to go through some of the things where again, I will scream from the mountain tops. The Cowboys offense will be fine. It will be good. It will be great. It will be really, really, really, really, really good. But what are the odds that what just happened in one week defensively continues for quite a while is the worry because that was the most important thing. The most important thing was you don't have to be a great defense. Don't suck.

19:25And through one week failure in that regard. And now you have some injuries. Cook or broke his forearm. Demarri on overshown has something with a hamstring. We'll figure out the severity today. But I mean, we can actually we can just do it one at a time. You tell me you want to go, are you a front guy, middle guy or a back guy? You like the front, the middle or the back? I'm a being adult. I'm going to be in the top or bottom or middle. You like middle, middle. I don't want to talk about the side. I'm not trying to be in the front or the back by the side, just the side, even side, the middle of your love. I don't say most of that. Alright, so the middle would be the linebackers in the middle of the defense. Yep. Which by the way, yeah, this is a lot of what I said in training camp. I did not like this lineback in core training camp.

20:25I always thought that they were just a little. They were, I thought inexperienced and light. And I put a lot of optimism in these guys at least aren't those guys. Kenneth Murray can't hurt me anymore. Jack Sandboard can't hurt me anymore. And so I ran out new guys. They hurt you in a different way. They played about as poorly as those guys. And I know like, see like Kenneth and them, they hurt you because they went the wrong way. Yeah, that's right. These guys hurt you because they were in the way and couldn't do anything when they got there. That's it. It's a different type of hurt. Kenneth wasn't going the right direction. Sandboard wasn't going in the right direction. So they hurt you. These guys were in the right direction, but couldn't do nothing when they got there. Yeah. And so it's just a, it's a different level of hurt. Well, and this is the one that I don't want to do and I don't like doing it. Because when you have young players, especially young players that show you flashes of what

21:30they can be at their best, you get excited about it. And you want, you want to see that become who they are consistently. And you get excited about the future of different players. Demarvian overshadowed has not proven he's a good NFL linebacker, much less a great one. And like he got through some really, really nice splash plays and show an awesome athleticism like watch out that dudes the future of this defense and hey, look, he hired a new agent. He's about to have the greatest year and have all the money. We've played one game and he's not strong enough for the role that he was asked to play. He wasn't good and coverage. He's too high. It's just and he's hurt. The, and he's hurt. We said, can you get to say he's hurt. Yeah. Three quarters in. Three to half quarters into this season. And he's already about to get sideline with an injury. And I like that exists. So it's part of the conversation.

22:30But I guess the thing I want to point out is even plucking that part out of it. Like he is. Now I do this because he's so likable. And that's fine. He has a lot of nothing to do with. There's nothing to do with it. No, he hasn't proven anything. No. He hasn't proven anything. No. As a like good NFL starting player, he has not proven it. And now you're talking about also, okay, well, can you be the exact same physically that you were when you've had a certain amount of injuries and all that. And so yeah, like the linebacker position was a was a dream on potential. And through one week that potential is not realized. The weaknesses of the game exists. They are still weaknesses of the game. And everything about the linebacker group looked to me bad. Like run defending. You're not stout enough. Past defending part of it is just the fact that everyone on your defense wasn't good enough

23:30and they got to do whatever they wanted. And so for the giants constantly at the linebacker level, it was either you're too deep or you're too short. Oh, it's just you're never in the right spot. Because you have to bite on the play action because we're tearing you up on the ground. Now I'm dropping it over your head. Now you think it's a pass play. Well, you're still not in the right spot. I can fit it between these two guys. It's just like you're just you're still not getting a good linebacker play and standard caveat. Week one week one week one week one can lie to you. New defense blah blah blah blah. All those things are true. But I thought that overshown didn't look good at all before you got hurt. He winners didn't look good either. He looks small and non explosive to me. And then J. Sean barham look just how tired when he was he was spinning. So like that whole group whatever optimism were drawn for it. That's fine. But just know whatever we're hanging on to right now. We're just hoping and people are allowed to get better and people are allowed to play

24:32better. But I can't point to anything that they did in a real NFL game and go. Okay, well, here's why I could see this getting better. I don't know where to go with that position group and give you that. I don't have it. I know where you go. You call. Who you calling? Hey, Bobby. Bobby. You busy? No. Hey, oh, head on to the airport. Uh, the flight. Uh, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. What do we do at the game in black? I don't know. Okay. So I'm going to take my flight. I'm going to take my flight. Come get you in a full workout. Bobby Wagner's better on first and second down and anything that you have in your your roster right now in one of that position. Yeah. One first and second down. Nah, I'm not saying that. I don't think Bobby Wagner couldn't cover, but I said this back in May Bobby Wagner should be in this conversation. If Bobby Wagner is on your first and second down. Again, this is another one of the guys who helps with that communication. Who bumps guys outside.

25:34Hey, you guys are running back outside in the flat for the third time in the road. This is a guy who is more stout, who is more physical at the point of attack on first and second down. I don't want to put Bobby Wagner in coverage, but at least early in the season, you get the Bobby you had to go might go 60 plays, 65 plays a day. You might have to do that. I'm not saying that on week 15, 16 and 17, but week one week two, week three, like Bobby's the best thing that you would have two day currently on first and second down. And he might show up and look incredibly slow and not be able to help you either, but it's one of those things where I'm like, I just want to try stuff. Now you have to call somebody because like, like, Shemar James, Sison, he's, he's smiling. He's smiling to the guys you already have out there. He run fast is a baron still in a practice squad. Like that's probably the answer right now. I know, no, no, not I'm just saying who's actually going to play.

26:36Like I don't, I don't think they're going to have anybody. They're just going to be like, no, we're right. We got a guy. I'm going to be okay. And also don't forget it's a two piece meal. Till on that they add. They add a corner or a linebacker. Remember we had that. Oh, yeah. What I get corner right? Yeah, corner I had linebacker. Well, we're going to get to them. Yeah. Team Jesse while I was watching the game and in the post game, I admitted I'm tired of what the game counts. I was like, okay, I don't want to get hurt when a game doesn't count. I don't want to lose a game that counts because we never prepared to play football.

27:38They are not getting ready to play football in training camp. And you know what? I hate the NFL PA in some ways because everybody deserves people who look at out for him. This is a dangerous sport. The NFL PA is doing exactly what they're supposed to do, which is try to keep people healthy the best they can. It's the right thing to do. But as a person who just gets to watch football, man, I'm tired of watching people not be ready to play football because we don't play football ever until it's time to play football. So we're positive that they do in training camp. Hey, A. Ron's in here. Jesse, no, I can you tell me which of those supplements that they use to get you through the game day for pain made you the sweatiest thanks. What? Okay. No, don't you do that? 28:39And I got I have problems with that one. You will never convince me in a 32 team league that the Cowboys are unique in getting the dumbest players. No, no way. No, it's absolutely not possible. So if a team is dumb, I will blame the coaches. It is well, we just followed his team daily. Show this other. Yeah, there's lots of dummies. True tax and failed. We got a whipping. Yeah. Yeah. A little brother. Oh, sudden, a little brother hit a growth spurt. Came back from summer camp. Bank camp to hell. KG's in the Super Chat. I promise Christian Parker did not call in a play three times in a row that the picture that it draws is nobody be over there. I said I won't point out you last night. I apologize. Why is that so why is this excuse that you're using right now? Was the excuse that I used last year so forbidden? Cause we wanted to blame Eberflux. It was fun. But I said the same thing last year. There's no way that Eberflux called a defense that told people to not go into place where you're supposed to go. He did it for 17 weeks. I'm on it one now. What was 18 is week 18. It's a continuation. I'm on it one. You're absolutely right. I got new players. So and what makes this what make you what makes your point even more worse than Eberflux because we were sold on the communication.

30:45We were sold at his superpower was communication and granted I saw a lot of that and training camp. We were sold that this dude is a master communicator and that these issues would not be prevalent in this season. And we saw it on six different occasions. We saw three times before the half one they scored and then we saw four three more times three to four more times in a fourth quarter when they sealed the game. Wait, nobody was guarding nobody was guarding guys. Nobody was guarding guys. Yeah. Or just running wrong stuff like I'm pretty sure of the touchdown. And this is the again the admission. I do not know this. Based on PJ locks reaction to the route combination in a Isaiah likely having no one within 10 yards of them. It looked like Doron Blan played man and he wasn't supposed to somebody just like who? What? How? It should have been they say tell you should have been inside outside of the Ron Blass should

We are now 17 last year and one this year. We are now 18 weeks into you can't rush the passer to save your life. The Cowboys had 24 man pass rushes in that game and they got pressure on two of them. Two. So they blitzed a bunch and then Jackson, dark ran away from that. Um, no problem or just still through the ball and completed a pass. I don't know what you do about that one. You want year two as a rock, who had become a better pass rusher. You want Malakad Lawrence to do something as a rookie. Roshong Gary to find his way to seven or eight sacks. You want pointed Williams to become or rediscover his ability as a pass rusher.

35:56I don't know if it's happening. We're 18 weeks since we had a good pass rush. And I don't know what happened to it. I don't know what we used to have. Um, but we're 18 weeks into who's going to get some quarterback? Who's doing that? I don't know Caleb Downs. The blitzer. Yeah. Like, even when Caleb blitz, I want Caleb to even realize when I blitz, hey, it's a quarterback. You don't have to not come out. Knock the ball out. Like go get the ball. Like that. That was another thing. Like even when he when he sacked the quarterback, he did it in such a way as if he was tackling a running bag. He had a right square in the chest. Like go be, go be ball minded. Go be turned over minded. Go hit his arm and try to hit the ball towards you after we watch. I thought he hit him in a weird way. It kind of like this. Like he gets late sacks. He gets six second sacks, five second sacks. He's not the guy to get off the ball and win in two seconds. He's not screaming around the corner. And you gave a second year quarterback a level of comfortability in the pocket last night

37:58where he was picking and choosing where he wanted to go with the ball. Never once did he feel made messes and never once because he had to get the sack on him. But for the most part, he didn't feel the pressure in the pocket. And as you begin to look further on next week, taking Daniels, now that's let a quarterback move around in the pocket. If you can't get to him, could be some situations. They're offensive lines sucks too, but is it even worth saying that they're offensive lines sucks because you're setting yourself up again. And then you know, you know, you know what it is in week three. That's problem. You know what that's, that's a double problem. That's a problem. That's a double problem because he, he and then the guy he heads it off to as well as a double problem. He's probably. Um, so like it doesn't slow down for you. So the fact of the matter is that you don't have a guy that's coming off the edge and it's gone plate 11 snaps and some of those snap they had them dropping in coverage. Yeah. Yeah. So this has to be one of those things where I don't know what you, the only way now that

39:02you get pressure is you have to manufacture it. You have to go full blind for as a little bit. You got to go. Hey, guys, I got to send that. I can't have two. I take these back there anymore. I got to send some guys. I have to send some guys because if not, I don't, I don't want, I don't want, Jaden Daniels will be a good quarterback if he stands in a pocket and surveys the field. Jaden Daniels becomes less good when you make him scramble and have to decide what to throw the ball. But if he gets, if any, any quarterback that plays in the league, if you let them stand in the pocket, they can deliver the football. Yeah. And you saw it last night to the people in the chat and I understand we protest clearance when he brings up certain things. I apologize for my joke about how it's been 18 weeks. But you probably need to know that those things go together. The cowboys have now for one year and one game had an embarrassingly awful defense.

40:06And if acknowledging that isn't allowed, I don't want to trade. I don't know how you sports. If you don't recognize the beginning point, they don't want to have the cowboys defense being horrendous. There's a very specific starting point. And so I get not spending a lot of time talking about somebody who's not here anymore. But we will recognize this defense went to butt on one very specific day and has been the worst defense in the history of the Dallas Cowboys since that day. So I would love if that wasn't true anymore, but until it's not that they sucked. Until it's not true anymore. So yeah, I don't, the past rush is just keep open. Keep playing, keep hoping and see what happens. And then you just don't have one to stay to stay on the bottom is outside of the punch out. The one elite player that we feel that we have on the defensive side was Quinn Williams.

41:12Wasn't he lit? He wasn't elite. When you're when you're drowning, you look to the elite guys to go, hey, go give us, go get us something. Go get us a sack. Go get us a tag of the loss. Go get us something. And I was looking for Quinn in to have more impactful place and I get the double team stuff, but he's always been that he's always been double team is this is like him being double team is not a new phenomenon for him or any defensive coordinator that has coached him. He's always been that way dating back to Alabama. He's always been double team and we considered him elite, even through all of that. Yeah. So coming into the game, you telling me that he was double team majority of the time. Doesn't change the fact that we thought he was elite in spite of that. And when you needed him to make more plays, I get he had the punch out. That was cool. That was good. But you needed one and more.

42:12You look for those guys to make more of an impact when you're drowning. Yeah. He has to be your life raft. He has to be your door when the Titanic is sinking. He has to be the PFD personal flotation device. Yes. Yeah. And just to just oh and oh, there's just one more thing when you talk about the front guys. Again, blame the coach blame every single one of the players give credit to the other team. However, you want to do it. Not a single one of you knows that if you're the one on the end, don't let him go that way. I want to get outside of you. No, I'm not having to have a rock who happened to Gary having to Lawrence. Like every single person happened to overshadow. Every single person whose job is don't let him go out there going running this way. It hooked and blocked it like your only job is he ain't allowed to go that way.

And you don't want to get comfortable with that level of it because, of course, it'll come at a point in time when you don't need it to happen.
