This is Matt Rogers from Lost Culture East. This is with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang. This is Bowen Yang from Lost Culture East. This is Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang. You know when people try a new food and suddenly it's like, okay, hold on. I got a new favorite food. That's the reaction a lot of people are having when they first try Cupid Mayon. Yeah, it's the one with the red cap and the little baby on the bottle. You've probably seen it at the grocery store. And this mayo is different. Mm-hmm. Most mayonnaise uses whole eggs. Cupid only uses egg yolks, which gives it this rich umami flavor. It's smoother, deeper, almost buttery. Once people try it, they start putting it on everything. Egg sandwiches, fries, burgers, chefs use it, restaurants use it, people who really care about flavor use it, put it on just about anything. Then you'll understand. Cupid, the original Japanese mayonnaise. Maze you contrast. Opinions that matter. Now, bend for them comments. It's one rule for them and another for everyone else. The treasurer Jim Charmers doesn't want you to access your own
super to buy your first home. But wait until you hear the sweet deal that treasuries on when it comes to early access to super and other very special benefits. One nation wants to let struggling renters and mortgage holders take 3% of their super payments as extra cash for up to three years. Jim Charmers says the idea is absolute madness. But here's the problem for the treasurer. Staff in his own office already have a 3% cash option under their employment agreement. They can choose to take about 3% of their pay instead of extra super. So keep that in mind when you hear Jim Charmers attack the idea. One nation's superannuation policy is an absolute shambles and now the coalition say that they want to copy it. When most people would run a mile from this absolute madness. That's the treasurer talking about the one nation plan. And it gets worse. We went through the latest Commonwealth members of Parliament, staff enterprise agreement, and the 3% super for cash option is only one of the lavish perks enjoyed by those working for the treasurer.
For example, political staffers get 15.4% in compulsory super. Most Australian workers only get 12%. Then their sick and carers leave. Full-time political staff get 18 paid days a year. The basic national entitlement is 10. And then there's Jim Charmers senior advisors. They can get a private plated car, including for private use. Or they can take a $25,000 vehicle allowance instead. And if you want to study, eligible staff can get up to $15,000 a year towards approved university, TAFE, health or other courses. And then they get up to five hours of paid study leave every week. When it comes to Christmas time, the days between Christmas and New Year's are considered paid shut down. So they don't have to touch their annual leave. Outside of Parliament, workers have to use annual leave during a Christmas break. Staffers get retention payments, paid parental leave, relocation assistance and career transition support.
And then there's severance under the basic national rules. Redundancy pay tops out at 16 weeks for eligible workers. Under this political staff agreement, eligible staff can get up to 48 weeks, almost a full year's pay. So we're talking about 15.4% super, 18 paid sick and care as days, a $25,000 vehicle benefit for senior advisors, up to 15 grand a year towards study with paid time to do it, a paid Christmas shutdown without touching annual leave and severance that can reach almost a year's pay. Yet when one nation wants to let struggling renters and mortgage holders take 3% of their super as cash, this is what Jim Charmer says. Most people would run a mile from this absolute madness. And that's where the cost of living comparison really bites. Outside of Canberra, families are trying to find some breathing room. Rent, mortgage repayments, groceries, electricity, insurance. A family struggling with the mortgage is not being offered a taxpayer-funded car.
A rent or watching their pay disappear is not being offered 15 grand towards study. But when the average worker wants to use their own money to put a roof over their head, it's absolute madness. No wonder people think there's a disconnect between the real world and the Canberra bubble. The battle is treated as mad just for wanting to buy a house with their own money. And Jim Charmer thinks people want to run a mile from such an idea. At the same time, Jim, they're running towards Pauline Hanson. Dave Roberts here. There you are surrounded by fans, sharing wings, sharing drinks, high-fiving random strangers. Everybody remembers the game. Nobody remembers the guy coughing behind you until a few days later.
