questions sponsored by the p i dental center here you your value your smile is a first thing other see when they meet you learn about the schedule your evaluation at p i dental center dot com we start with this is sunday seven percent verse the commanders a must win game seven percent no 57 percent yes that's not bad you're in a generational run of guests in the twitter question wrong i mean like just like they're not even in the ballpark through both contenders and wins and this peat you most people think this a must win game you're a man on a island no it's a must win game because the commitors that's what i said no i mean i get that but it's not it's not in the grand scheme thing i look at it because it and you understand why i'm coming from people i and you can fan the way you fan and i know that's what we're doing here but i look at what was you know that that bowl prediction that was made yesterday about the the rams going undefeated that's not going to happen but the but the train is not derailed no but same thing i feel the same way about the

eagles okay won't be now we will be we will be we will be greatly disappointed right in this team but i don't think that it would be the end of the world i think the eagles have far less margin for error than the rams the rams blew a game less that they were terrible here that they're not as obviously not as great as i thought but i don't think the rams chances to make the playoffs fell apart last night if the eagles lose on sunday i expect i expect them to win i think they're going to win their chances to win the east go dip significantly to me and their chances to get to the end now to wins they need to make the playoffs dip so they need that and i believe they're going to win and i believe it is a must win we'll get back to all your calls on that and one more of our polls which you ducks this time first we got to talk to our guys god francey sponsored by morgan and morgan america's largest injury law firm as the fills in it lana the last stand for the n alie scott how are you today i am well how are you guys pretty good pretty good but we're a little concerned scott because it feels like the last couple weeks the chase rate for the fillies has been has been down it was up a little bit

yesterday is that something that we should be concerned with giving the fact that we ain't got too many more games to play well uh yeah i mean it was obviously hard to watch yesterday and really over the last home stand good pitching and make your chase i guess a little bit that's what it's designed to do but it sounded like from some of the comments after the game last night the guys are certainly aware of it and hopefully that means they can kind of refocus and dial it back in scott fillies in it lana and you're there starting tonight the fills will have a three game series now yesterday through a monkey wrench in the plans because if they had one all right it would have been at least they would have stayed at three and they would have had a chance this weekend if they swept to tie the braves now it's back to four the braves have the tiebreaker making it more complicated scott what what's your you're feeling on their their chances in this division i mean the math is not there for them but they do have these three games which they could kind of change that math one last time yeah i mean clearly probabilities will tell you

um that the math is not in their favor and and catching them for the division is going to be hard and not only that but i mean even if you did sweep them in three games and you're one back with two weeks to go the schedule is really not easy and you know i mean i think the fillies you know as much as we want to see them in the division of course and the fillies want to still try to do that they haven't it's not like they're giving up hope on that i think i'm adding these message throughout which i think is the right one is to say look we're not in the playoffs and we need to win every game whether that's tonight against the braves or two days against the nats or next friday against the met i mean they need to win all the games that they can win and that's been the message for a while um it's not really about hey let's look at the games back and the standings and what's going on in the lost count stuff it's like we're not in yet um so we need to win every game to get in and once we're in you can start talking about positioning and home field and

all those other things but you got to get in first you do and that is the number one goal and then the other part will be where they're playing right if they get in do they have home field in that wild curse yours i heard them talking about it yesterday so they're one up on the cubs right now but the cubs do have that tie breaker if they end up tied it's got i'm curious how the fillies might handle the last week of the season and what they might prioritize let's say they're in let's say we know what five or six games to go they're going to make the playoffs it's got they they could be caught in a in between of do we go to try to get that top wildcard get the games here in Philadelphia or do we make sure we're set up for the wildcard series and as i look at it right now i know things could change it looks to me like if they stayed on turn zack wheeler would pitch the last game of the season um i wonder if that would be worth it especially how many innings he might pitch before a wildcard so Scott what's your thought on home field verse setting themselves up if we get to that point with the cubs situation well i mean the one thing the fillies have going for them is the luxury of probably the bet the deepest starting rotation that you're going to find

amongst those teams you know those wildcard teams and those teams that might still have a chance to jockey for position so it allows you to i mean if you did feel like you really needed to use wheeler in the last day um which i don't necessarily think they would sell out for that i i really think they feel like you know it's certainly based on the way you look the yesterday he's kind of back i think he got to feel like he's a little bit back and you know the next few starts will still play into that but i don't know that they go all in on home field just because you know and burn wheeler on the last day for instance um but again you you just keep playing them and once you get to the last week then you can start to make those choices but until you right now you don't have any choice you got to throw your best guy that's available every single day and try to win every single pack. Scott fransky with us here fills and brave starts the night three game series down at

lana. Scott a pretty good homestand for trade turner including back to back games with a home run. i thought the game a couple days ago where he had the hit to right field and then the home run to right field felt encouraging because he was you know going with the pitch and had some power behind what are you seeing from turner right now we've been waiting all year for him to heat up could this be the time. Could be and you know boy that would change the narrative wouldn't it. It's been such a bad year for him and he struggled to make any kind of real you know long standing legitimate adjustments it looked like he was swinging the bat better over the weekend with the braves you know even before he hit the two hallmers against Houston. I think he's staying a little bit more closed at the plate obviously if he can eliminate chase that's a huge part of it that's been incredibly difficult for him to pull off so far this year. We've all seen it everybody knows you know breaking balls down in a way have been a bit of an emphasis for him but if he can build a little bit of

confidence I know Don Mattingley has talked a lot about him feeling like he's maybe lacking some trust in himself and so you fly open because you're trying to cheat to get to the fast ball which leads you really susceptible to the breaking balls and hopefully he'll trust himself a little bit more try to stay closed. I think driving the ball the other way is a sign that he's trying to do that because you got to stay closed longer and let the ball get deeper if you're going to do that which he did for a couple of you know for a few at bats this week. Scott Fransky with us Fransky Friday Scott you mentioned trust there it certainly feels like Don Mattingley still has trust in Alex McFarlane and I wasn't as upset as other people were last Monday after the Sunday game and then I was upset they lost but I like that McFarlane challenged Acunia and he went right after him and I my favorite part about him is it seems like he has no fear and he's ready for this. Phil is one fact him in a big spot. What do you see what McFarlane and do you think

he's earning Mattingley's trust here as we get to October to maybe be the seventh or the eighth minute inning man in big spots. I think he is gaining that trust eliminating walks was a big thing first and foremost he's calm down with that rigged in that regard. You know the challenge on Acunia I mean the reality is they play you know they sort of pitched him to a scouting report but they didn't pitch him well enough and it wasn't well enough it wasn't a well enough executed pitch. I probably would have preferred to change his eye level a little bit at some point along the way. You know change the bat speed a little bit at some point along the way and then come back to the fastball but you know that's a learning experience and maybe he'll be in that same kind of spot sometime this weekend and get another shot at Acunia and we'll see how he handles it. Scott let's end with this so Andrew Painter is going to pitch Sunday coming off not a great start

though he settled down a little bit after the tough inning against the Astros as we move forward it seems pretty clear to me that they're going to have their top four if they move through the postseason with Nola being the four. What do you think Painter's role will be in the postseason and if it's in the bullpen do they need to get him ready for that or is it a matter of he just goes out there and then they call him in the game if they want to use him. Yeah I think they just call him in the game if they want to use him. If nothing else maybe there's a test of trying to warm up a certain way but other than that I mean I do think what you would probably the role you would probably see him in is not hey I'm going to go get the seventh inning tonight and tomorrow night I'll come in in the eighth or whatever that's not going to happen. He'd be a long guy certainly if you get you know blown out early in a start you know let's you know Sanchez has a bad start or something like that which can happen obviously maybe that's a situation where you have Painter waiting in

the wings to piggyback with him and take down some innings that so you don't blow through your entire bullpen in a short series and the other part of that is
